I would very much doubt that we'd ban for it, but people are free to make reports to our Support to get the match checked out.
Aight thanks ^^

We've actually addressed all of this earlier in the thread, but in a nutshell:
- Focusing on only "good Hillbillies" completely ignores the fact that we want to encourage new Billies to use their chainsaw more often, so that they can become good Billies. Ultimately, Overheat did the opposite.
- "Spamming" his power is a moot point. You get punished for missing by a cooldown that lets survivors loop you for longer. That's how it should be; there was no need to add an arbitrary heat system like they did. Especially since BHVR themselves said that they were happy with how he was performing. Nobody thought he needed to be nerfed aside from a few addons.
- "Overusing" his chainsaw is just a sad concept, imho. How can you overuse a killer's power, the very thing that makes them unique? The very reason you play that killer specifically? Killer powers should be designed for as much use as possible. Otherwise we just get trapless Trapper gameplay.
Idk why you brought Whispers up. Please elaborate.
To avoid making you talk about things you already have, I'll talk about whispers.
I brought it up as it's a perk that I find incredibly strong on him, similar to STBFL on Demo or Stridor on Spirit. Maybe you can say that perks shouldnt be in the conversation, but if we're being realistic then most killers will have perks at their disposal, especially one that isnt a teachable.
Due to his power needing to cooldown, the addition of whispers allows it to be used more efficiently as he can know when traversing the map if he needs to continue on and ignore the area or if he should stay. Additionally, while using his chainsaw he goes at 9.2 m/s (iirc) so survivors dont always have a ton of time to react.
Yes whispers isnt completely accurate, but from my experience it saves more time than it loses as if you know the general distance of 32m then you can search and get into a chase quickly, and helps Billy what he does best. Create a ######### ton of pressure as he can roam around the map quickly and allows you to not overuse your chainsaw to the extent that it overheats.
Combine this with Ruin, and to me you've got the best map pressure in the game.
You're entitled to your own opinion however and if you believe that Billy shouldn't have been nerfed then that's fine. I think there are certain parts where they did go too far (Such as his add ons mostly being useless) but his overheat is one of the few things that they did right in my opinion.

People keep saying "he's not a good Hillbilly", but even if he's not, it doesn't change anything I said. And I think using if using your power as much as possible is as bad as not using your power at all, there's a problem that needs to be fixed. That problem is Overheat.
The overheat mechanic is what separated the good Hillbillys and the average Hillbillys. Imagine Hillbilly when Ruindying was meta. Even now he's extremely underrated because his power takes thought.
Not every killer should be able to spam their power. Some should be punished for over using their power. Blight gets punished by having to replenish all tokens for using his power. Huntress, Slinger, Trickster and Clown have to reload. Freddy and Hag only have a limited amount of their power before it starts being re used.
And that's just some of them. Killers do have some sort of punishment for spamming their power (Spirit being a notable exception). The only problem I have with him now is occasionally hitting off things that he shouldnt hit off. Otherwise from my experience he's a fun, mostly balanced killer that becomes weak if people overuse his chainsaw.
It's why, to me, Whispers is a necessity on him. But that's a free perk that's on every killer rather than one that needs huge grinding.
-
New killer that seems to have a higher skill floor than a lot of other killers, during the one of the buggiest patches in the past year.
Additionally, the fact that its earlier in the day might effect it.
-
I died to bot Trapper ;-;
-
Apologies for tagging you @MandyTalk , but would this be considered a bannable offence over abusing a bug? Or would it not as it was technically out of their control for how the bug occurred and is similar to infinite Breakdown in which yous dont ban for bugs.
Thanks in advance ^^
-
Tells you a lot that this thread has 1.4k comments and yet none of them are from devs.
Ik it would probably do ######### all, and few people would do it, but is there a chance people could boycott the game to try and get attention? Because clearly the devs dont give two shits if people are still playing their game.
-
Ngl he doesnt seem like a great Hillbilly, he made a lot of mistakes throughout that one game.
Additionally the clips before the game, why was he deciding to use his chainsaw when it wasnt necessary...? Playing M2 billy is almost as bad as playing M1 Billy with his power for transport only.

So yeah GF is gonna be weaker when people are looking out for him, but you don't how much he's stalked you. He could surprise insta down you at any time and you might know hes there because he's stealthed. Hiding his red stain in chase can be done by anyone but GF stealth gives him more mind game chances. I think at their worst GF is better, and at their best he is his still better.
Most Ghostfaces wont go for that stalk for three reasons (me included when I do play him).
Number one, Spinechill exists and is highly rated. Not every survivor uses it but its prevalent enough to not take the chance and instead walk sideways to the survivor, which leads me onto my second point, his cooldown.
Due to his high cooldown for his power if you dont land that sneaky first hit then you're in big trouble as you are now an M1 killer that needs two hits. And if you do get it back in chase, then you're after wasting so much time for that second hit.
Finally, like mentioned slightly above, he's an M1 killer. Even if you expose the survivor, you have very little to help you in the chase. And as long as that survivor is beside a good loop or two, you're unlikely to get that hit off unless they're poor at the game or you are using a 99 tactic which doesnt even work that well against great survivors.
A killer with a chase power will almost always be better than a killer with no chase power like GF.

You think is problem having or not having 4K? I can take 4K with Trapper. Is that makes Trapper super killer?
If you can 4k with Trapper then that's great, but Trapper is not only heavily add on reliant, he also hasnt been out for less than two days.

Problem is generators are not slow and we are not on low ranks.
Survivors can take 8 free hits (8 sprints) and after that Nemesis can hurt them with tentacle.
Him counterplay is seriously so easy. Just carry one vaccine with you. If he is try m2 you, run around pallet and walls, that hurts him so much. If he try m1, break pallet and keep run. And ıf you get m2 once, use vaccine when you can. And you have one free hit too. That is ridicilous. Which killers needs 3 hits for get survivor down? Any good survivor can make Nemesis busy for minute or more. And generators will fly.
So clearly no, that's not worth it. I played as him +50 matches and i faced with so much Nemesis. He is max C-Tier.
Agree to disagree I suppose. The only match i havent 4kd was a rush squad on Haddonfield so I'm holding my opinion to low a/high b.

The thing is though that you can negate up to 8 hits by Nemesis without being healed by someone else / having a MedKit. So you have to go through the Sprint Bursts for multiple times.
By the time you reach your highest power level 1 gen is left because all survivors have to do is hold W. Especially his first chase is god awful. He can't break pallets with his power, has low reach and can't even hurt a survivor. So you either have to give your first two victims a free Sprint Burst into freedom or you decide to become to a M1 killer.
That's why I mentioned playing with your zombies to make it easier. And loads of killers have that weak start up. Thats why I compared him to Myers, not because of them both having 3 tiers to their powers, but they both give a slow start for a strong end game.
You have no chance at winning against anyone if you remain an M1 killer for the trial. That's why you have to get your power up and running early when there are generators to be done and pallets to go around.

Saying something doesn't make it true. How is he any better than someone like Billy or GF?
(Different person here) For starters, to me Billy is A tier, so better than Nemesis. As long as you don't over use your chainsaw then itll never overheat and with IF he can gain momentum in a game fairly quickly. Add Whispers, BBQ and Ruin and you've got a killer that can pressure extremely well. Even without those perks his chase ability alone when used right aswell as his map traversing is arguably the best in the game.
As for Ghostface, he's an M1 killer that's power only let's him get early suprise hits. Ghostface wastes too much time trying to stalk usually so ends up being a weaker Wraith in a sense. His power is almost useless during chase as his red stain being hidden can be done with any killer by turning around. Nemesis has a ranged attack that over time not only makes most loops hard too loop (as he's ranged and destroys pallets at T2) but also his attack is quick and more forgiving as a survivor can run into it after the release animation.
-
I think it's worth it for one reason, and that's because although he starts off slow, over time he becomes stronger and can two hit survivors.
Zombies are useless if you just let them roam free and never try to chase survivors near them, but I've had many times in my already few games where I've seen a zombie on a loop, forced a survivor to run into them and I attack with my power at around the same time to get 2 free hits.
He's like a combination of myers and pyramid head. Yes he starts off slow like Myers, but you have to use power to get stronger regardless of that slow start, as not only is his power extremely forgiving (as survivors can run back into your talk to get hit) but it also saves a lot of time in the long run when it comes to breaking pallets.
-
Have a good break then dude, dont blame you especially after the most recent patch.
-
As Boosted Dwight mentioned, at one point there were a lot more of these trusted members who, as far as I'm aware, were much more active.
Something happened which lead to the four we have now. Inactivity is expected from when people have been playing the game for so long which is most likely why you havent seen much, as well as a possible demotivation after what occurred. Maybe we'll see more trusted members in the future so we see more threads being marked with such.
Regardless of activity or what happened in the past, I'm happy with the four we have now as they are respectable members of the forum.

Twins turned out to be good after a long time of learning and a very unfun playstyle. Elodie however I agree with.

To Quote:(names changed to protect the guilty)
-Richard1-: "Lightborn won't stop the gen-rush, Trash"
Me: "I was just after the 4th stack of BBQ, well played, though"
-Richard1-: "Then unistall the game, you suck too much to play this game."
-Richard2-: "While you're at it, uninstall yourself from life. Nobody will miss you."
(at this point I took the appropriate measures, no need to direct me to those)
Definitely bullying. when I tried to chase the rank 17 I got swarmed and farmed for protection hits.
Yeh that's another form of bullying that's unacceptable, glad you took appropriate measures and I hope you agree when I say that Richard 1, and especially Richard 2 are speaking bullshit.
-
To me it depends on one thing.
Is that brown rank a genuine new player playing with his friends? Or is it someone on an alt so that they can all bully a new killer.
If it's the former I have no problem with it. People shouldnt be denied the opportunity to play with their friends especially if the more experienced ones are trying to teach their newer friend how to play.
If it's the latter however, I am against it. The whole intention at that point isnt even to win like gen rush squads, it's just to bully a new killer and be a dick.
I've never been messaged so I don't know the context of what type of berating messages.
-
So far to me he seems Low A/High B tier. Range attack starts off weak with the 3 hits needed but becomes worth it if you're accurate after you've contaminated the survivors.
You can force survivors to run into your zombies if your zombies are close by, something that can be extremely useful especially if they're already contaminated.
Otherwise, he has very little map pressure as his zombies are rarely able to get a suprise hit but can keep survivors off generators for a short amount of time.
-
Guess I'm the only one who doesnt mind too much about this...

Yes, and no, see they can make as many killers as they want and some will not be better than others, however, some people might like the idea of what that killer brings but hate using them because of mechanics. For example, some people might prefer Deathslinger over Huntress, and some might prefer Trickster over those two, so killer originality is a mixed bag in most cases. But I'd like to see something new and unique rather than another killer that's just a small change of another.
P.S. I will be gone on a vacation for four days and won't be able to answer any other questions till then
Enjoy your vacation mate ^^
-
Although I'm personally fine with it, I can understand why some people like yourself arent fine with it.
Hopefully, the devs can add some sort of feature that doesnt make it suddenly blinding, and maybe make it similar to the current flashlights in which its gradual.
Question however, are you fine with Flashlights as it's not an instant blind but you can prepare for it?
-
Take a break. If the game is effecting you mentally to the point you cry, then you may have overplayed the game to the point that it stresses you out or you might be an individual who is stressed out in general.
Regardless, I hope you feel better soon dude and you're not a pussy for crying.
-
Got all the bp fine, but yeh had my cosmetics reset like the rest of yous. Nothing that bad tbh.
-
You know I actually think the devs will agree with you on this.
They're gonna do it the next chapter release instead of mid chapter patch just so we can wait another month and a half.
-
The anniversary event doesnt actually start today, but rather the 1st of July.

Lmao claud & trapper has been in the game since the start and they both got tome 1
Tome 1 was more of a test tome to me and then they expanded further with more characters and more interesting lore.
Nothing necessarily says Feng should or will be next, especially that she's not one of the original characters that we know nothing about (unlike Jake who has extremely little lore along with the other 3 original who have recieved more through the tome).
That's not to say I wouldnt want Feng, but rather theres no real reason she should take priority over other survivors.

This would make his mori so much better.

Feel free to correct me if I butcher Silent Hill lore, but I'm pretty sure Pyramid Head is just the same as any other monster in Silent Hill, a manifestation of whatever aspect of those inside with the explicit purpose of tormenting them.
Considering 3 people corrected me, I'd presume I was in the wrong, which does make me ponder the same question as you relating to if he'd fit or not.
-
Theres not a ton of us (atleast on Xbox) but we are here every now and then. I'm just waiting for Nemesis to come out though.
-
Is he strong? Yes, but he's far from overpowered. He is relatively easy to pick up, but struggles in the chase if the survivors are good. He also, to an extent, suffers froklm the same counter that pigs ambush does, which is if he cant see you, you should just run away from the tile if you suspect he'll uncloak, works often enough if they're not suspecting it.
-
@Awkward_Fiend said:
I don't understand how he would work since IT is basically a god. Also I personally think that all it's media is bad.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt Pyramid Head a "god" too?
-
To me, this is the best dbd killer we've seen in DBD. A fun power that does everything well but not too well, while having counterplay.
I know Demo is licensed, but it doesnt take from the fact that it is all amazing, from the design of Demo to its noises that fit Demo hugely.
Oni and Doctor are also close for me, but nothing beats Demogorgon imo.
-
Once I get all of them I listen to it all at once rather than when I get them. Sometimes they arent that interesting, but most of them I personally liked.
-
Yes, but something I cant realise is that people are suggesting that survivors need more info, which wont help at all. If she knows where you are (which any decent Spirirt will) it wont matter if you know where she is.
-
I dont know what they'd do, but I'd love Starcourt Mall, with Hopper and Billy (Maybe Billy as the killer?)
Edit: Only realised youd want the same thing so glad you have good taste ^^
-
I understand both sides in the situation. On one hand, the killer needs a kill to gain momentum when they're in a bad situation, resulting in tunneling someone which is completely understandable. On the other hand, the survivor is going to feel frustrated at such an unfun tactic, especially if it's hard tunneling. Some people will feel the need to throw out their anger on someone, and usually people decide that the person who made them feel this way should face their anger. Usually people calm down after a while, and even when I'm angry enough to message someone I usually go back an hour later to apologise.
To sum it up, I understand both sides despite tunneling being fine.
-
His power is countered by windows, and as long as you dont get greedy with pallets hes basically a M1 killer. He's basically a weaker but easier Hillbilly.
-
Lore wise? Trickster. How people say he doesnt fit dbd with that lore is beyond me.
Power wise and look wise, both Hag and Doc. They both look creepy and my god their powers would be the most scariest ######### irl.

Spirit is fine. She just has a strong add on set that could use minor nerfing and needs an indicator when she begins phasing to give the survivor some sort of information going into chase with her.
As much as I wish that would be enough, knowing if she's phasing or not would be for the most part useless. Yes the stand still mind game no longer works, but if she is phasing then you're still stuck in the same situation where you have no info on where she is while she has loads of info on where you are.

For the most part, this seems good! However, I do feel window 1 and 2 are too weak (more so 2 than 1). Then again, maybe this is a good thing as there is already a strong window and pallet.
Overall good rework ^^ 👏
