Double standard is BHVR removing all the cheap ez win strategies for survivors, like permanent sabo and 99 gens, but leaving the cheapest ez win strategy for killer, i.e. tunneling. Nothing wrong in desperately trying to win even at expense of other players, even if you know it's annoying for the other side, after all don't blame the players - blame the game, and this is exactly what I do.

Fun is subjective and I love getting tunneled tbh. I usually run heavy chase builds and nothing feels better than kiting the Killer all game ending up being the main reason he lost that game.

You know whats an "cheap ez win strategy" in my opinion? Early shift W to god pallets pre-dropping them instantly. No brain usage, just shift+w and spacebar. Great, dropped 15 pallets while the others clamp onto gens like their life is depending on it

quoting the person you responded to : "Why do so many people pretend that middle-ground doesn't exist?"

and here you are again… ignoring the middle ground, claiming that people are just trying to force killers to play a certain way when all they did was vent about frustrating matches.

    :/

Nothing wrong with a bit of venting, sure. But theres no reason to make yourself so angry because your opponent is doing their objective and youre doing side objectives (tomb challenges), putting yourself at a disadvantage. You shouldnt expect to have a good game when putting yourself at a disadvantage. No reason to blame your opponent also, that just seems controlling.

You can try looking at this from the survivor's point of view. You know, DbD is not a JRPG where you encounter a party of NPCs. Those are too living people behind the screen, and it's annoying to be tunneled out at the start of the game, and also losing just because your teammate was tunneled out at the start.

Losing and getting relentlessy tbagged at because you were playing a weak killer / weak perks and had no chance from the start is also not fun. But survivors are just doing their objective so you cant blame them, right? So why are killers getting blamed for doing their objective (killing people). Double standards.

Once again, you just made a strawman. NOBODY said anything about free wins. Being annoyed by something that makes the challenge too difficult doesn't necessarily mean that you want no challenge at all. Why do so many people pretend that middle-ground doesn't exist?

I still fail to see how someone having a challenge selected should force the opponent to play a certain way just to make completing the challenge easier. Seems like OP has a problem with the core gameplay instead of the actual challenges part.

  • One of the problems created by the hatch mechanic. Which creates more problems than it solves.

  • REMINDER: Dead by Daylight is a 4v1, you're not supposed to be able to counter or run a Killer for 5 minutes (game will be over by that point). But you can optimize time waste, to allow your teammates to do as much of the objective as possible. Also keep in mind you're playing against the STRONGEST Killer. (Out of a 35 Killer roster)!!!

    1. Very important: Pre-run away from your generator. Always give yourself a head start. Nothing is stronger vs the Nurse than running early, keep your distance.
    2. Break line of sight at all times, nothing is easier than getting blinked on while having full line of sight.
    3. Create as much distance as possible (while breaking line of sight).
    4. Don't drop down high places. Stagger blinks are 100% free hits for the Nurse.
    5. Avoid vaulting windows (or dropping pallets) in chase. You being stuck in animation makes you predictable (maybe if she's in fatigue you could, or in some last ditch attempts to avoid getting hit).
    6. Use unorthodox pathing, don't auto-pilot loop tiles like you're vsing an M1. You will be very predictable. Use weird walls in jungle gyms, run a circle around certain walls you'd normally avoid.
    7. Edge-map is very underrated vs Nurse. The outside walls will sometimes swallow her blinks and you will make it more difficult for the Nurse. Also, doing this automatically makes you be far away from the (active) generators. Indirectly wasting more time for the Nurse.
    8. Avoid cornering yourself, or atleast delay it for as long as possible. You can't 100% avoid it if she just walks you down, but remember the thing I said at the start.
    9. Don't be a double back merchant. Nurses usually blink on corners of buildings knowing you will double back. Mix it up, remember to be unpredictable.
    10. If she goes for a blind blink (through walls, instead of line of sight blinks on corners) you can instantly run into her to make her over-blink. This is more mechanical though and maybe not for never players.
    11. If you're very confident mechanically you could also play around with looking behind you or not. You looking behind you will sometimes make the Nurse think you're going to double back. You could do the opposite. Also not looking behind you but doubling back anyways. You'll have to try and play around with it.
    12. Don't run into (active) generators. Good thing about playing vs Nurse is you're not relying on resources. You can always run away from the generators and play around objects.

You realize there are multiple tome challenges that require you to "win" (escape), right? Also OP didn't even say they're annoyed at not winning. Where did you get that?

Well it's a Tomb >challenge< right? You just selecting the challenge shouldn't give you a free win? The Killer's objective is to KILL. You have to SURVIVE as a SURVIVOR. That's just the core gameplay we are talking about now. The Killer Kills, the Survivor has to Survive. No challenge should give you immunity or force the opponent to play a certain way you want.

I was actually not annoyed with not winning, but being stuck on tome challenges due to being tunneled out before having the chance to do them. I don't really care whether I win or lose.

The point is that tunneling as a strategy is too easy, without any real form of counterplay. You can only get this far versus a double speed add-on Blight for instance, even with DS and exhaustion perks. And being stuck in an endless chase with the killer doesn't solve the problem of getting the challenges done, right?

Well just because you have a challenge selected that shouldn't give you an immunity shield vs the Killer doing his objective (Killing). That's DBD, the Killer has to Kill. Survivors have to Survive. Challenges are a side objective you can select, but if you don't like the main gameplay then that's a different problem.

  • If you're playing for Tomb challenges why are you getting annoyed at not winning? You want to get wins AND go for Tomb challenges at the same time? If you want to do well and win consistently you shouldnt be doing any tomb challenges. Put on an exhaustion, anti tunnel (DS or OTR) or maybe in your case even both and maybe a Bond? Kindred? You can't expect to win every game if you're doing challenges and in a full solo team. Come on man

  • Nice, bump it up to the suggestions page. I think no one will be against this idea

  • Any killer with 115% movement speed (4.6m/s) you will do well with at low mmr. Low mmr survivors are extremely bad, dont use any resources, but just run forward. You only have to follow them

  • @Shuma said:

Doesn’t anyone else think it’s really interesting that, for the most part, it’s killer-mains complaining about survivors quitting instead of survivor mains complaining about it.

I think this is very telling. Survivor mains seem to be way more understanding about survivors quitting even though it affects survivors way more than killers.

Did you post a survey somewhere? How did you come to this conclusion? The reason why I dislike solo q is because people instantly give up 1 in every 3 or 4 games. This is also what I read on the forums and hear from my friends. Why would you be annoyed as killer when people give up? I love it when they do that, thanks for the win, please give up when you cant handle me.

  • Making him 110 will only hurt new Blights though. As good Blights only really use power to traverse the map anyways.

  • You didnt read the post. OP already said this and this guy replied to that. You're just repeating it?

  • I respect you for trying to learn and ask for tips instead of jumping on the "This killer is OP" train I usually see.

  • It's a 4v1, and you're playing solo q with people who can just give up at any moment, you're not on comms nor are you playing with good players all the time. I'd say 30% is very high?

  • Put on Decisive Strike or Off the Record, or both. Or even add Dead Hard if you struggle. If you struggle taking chase (I take that from you complaining about someone going for you all the time) you should give yourself a bit of help.

can't tell if sarcasm but he has a 60% killrate because like 2 people play him

Yeah it was sarcasm, but there's a reason they show weird stats like that though. They're meaningless but the casual majority use them in arguments.

  • This is super subjective though, I mean every single killer will be hated by atleast one person.

What could help is you changing your mindset. Instead of "I keep dying this is unfair" try to play for different results. Try to optimize time waste for the killer. I've been doing this and it has been lots of fun. You won't see me dying without running all the way waving into a corner. Optimizing time waste for my team and learning ways to do it has been super fun, no matter the result when playing solo queue

  • His killrate is 60% though, that's what the developers aim for. So he's fine.

It was normal game play though, it sucked but holding an irritating 3 gen was never a reportable offence. Thankfully they got rid of that by limiting how much a gen can be regressed but it still creates miserably long matches

But developers called it "not participating in normal gameplay" in one of their patchnotes. I'd say they get to decide what's normal gameplay or not, right?

  • Also the case with Self Care! Had this today using Self Care

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Be very hard to penalise them for this as hiding is part of normal gameplay, though I get the frustration and some people just have far too much time on their hands.

I will give up and ask the killer to hook me in 3 gen situations that are dragging out as I would rather move on to a fresh match. But I have had survivors that hide and its incredibly annoying and certainly one of the very rare occasions I will actually slug for a 4k - nobody is going to waste that much of my time and get hatch that is for sure!

If hiding for up to ~50 minutes is normal gameplay then so was kicking generators over and over with Call of Brine + Overcharge in a 3-gen and not taking any chases

  • @alpha5 said:

There was a vault right behind you that would have let you go past the bot.

You're right, but I didn't expect him to turn around just to sandbag me. He was even running away from the killer

  • Bumping this as I just had this happen to me again.

    1. Open the first gate (starting EGC)
    2. Run to the other gate open it fully from 0%
    3. You get 0 bloodpoints for opening the 2nd gate, only the first one grants 1250 in Objective.
  • If you and your whole team doesnt cleanse shes just full m1 with no power though (the survivors dream). If you have a problem with that you'll struggle with the whole killer cast. Also keep in mind Skullmerchant gets 10 status effects including haste with those free injures. While Plague gets nothing, maybe Thana if she brings the perk

yeah he is slow and has no mobility but his 1v1 is super strong, especially since in some loops you cant see him

Yeah I agree he's not weak. But weaker than some people think in my opinion

  • @JeanGreyarea said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3695348#Comment_3695348

how is chucky a weak killer😭😭

    But yes unknown is good

I mean he's 110% with no map pressure. He's basically a smaller and much slower Wesker with no infection also. And cant use his power to go around the map

    1. Nurse
    2. Blight
    3. Spirit
    4. Billy
    5. Wesker
    6. Oni
    7. Plague
    8. Huntress
    9. Pinhead
    10. Artist
  • Because they are invincible at an open exit gate. It's a power trip. Survivors sometimes do the same thing at the hatch, waiting last second to jump in (sometimes while having repaired 0 generators, free escape). It's simply a powertrip, feeling superior

in So explain Comment by Nick
  • Wouldnt say that ascends him as much as tombstone piece. As in tournaments he only gets played with unlimited tier 3 on Hawkins with heavy perk and item restrictions for survivor and he still gets outed

  • Nurse and Blight are also reasons why some perks are weaker than they could be. Because old Pain Res would be no problem on Nemesis or Ghostface but put that on Nurse or Blight and suddenly its overpowered

  • That would be a nerf to one of the weakest killers though (if we ignore the tombstone piece)

  • Pop unhealthy but deadlock less unhealthy? For pop you literally have to put someone on the hook. But deadlock just happens automatically and incentivises camping

  • I hate also how you get no points for getting chased by Victor. During the match you're just existing and a play ball for the Twins. 8-12k bloodpoints for a 10 min match

  • You're probably not wrong tbh, it will be killer sided if you're in the match 😁

  • @Deathstroke said:

Im fine with option to hide but mamy players want to show it like me. I want to show I have P100 character. It would be wrong to take away that option.

I said give an option to hide it. Not remove the whole prestige system

  • @BlightAbuser said:

People will lobby shop for much less than p100. P100 doesn’t mean anything, and most people know that now. I RARELY get dodged.

When playing with my friends, all P100, we can get dodged up to 10 times in a row. I'm not even over exaggerating. Never happens when we quickswitch

  • @brokedownpalace said:

would a giant Oni even work on The Game?

No clue, thought BHVR double trolled me by just releasing a perkless Oni game as a gamemode. Everything was normal, I got hooked twice, we rushed all 5 gens, opened the gates and escaped

  • @xerox8521 said:

Maybe in several years you might get the option to hide it just like it will take years to get Perks shown above survivors in the lobby

Yeah even DBD mobile has that and the feature makes so much sense. Don't know why that's not in the game yet.

  • My first match is just a normal sized Oni on The Game… fun mode

  • @MissiCiv said:

They said Months ago or maybe a year ago that they are testing it to remove it from lobbys… but yeah we know how slow BHVR is so dont wait that, it will happen soon.

I really hope so. I'd love to be able to play all survivors without having to constantly worry

  • I prefer any killer picking that over Corrupt, Pain Res, Pop, Noed/Nwo. But that's me

  • @Pulsar said:

    Prove is not good lol.

Tunneling isn't good for the game, it can't be solved via perks.

DS has a shorter stun time than listed due to the animation. It's something around 1.5 seconds; which is literally nothing.

Killers already have that meta build. It's called stacking four slowdowns (stronger than Survivor perks, by design) and then tunneling someone out immediately.

You completely missed the point of the post, Pulsar. As did the 21 people who liked your reply.

"You know how killer’s “meta” builds are basically 4 gen slow downs? Well this is the survivor equivalent of that, but you don’t see survivors running this or is even considered meta, why?"

    • He's didn't say prove is good, he's asking why the killer's meta is 4 gen slow down, but the survivor's meta isn't 4 gen speed perks. Well, that's because survivors have  “DS, OTR, DH, Adrenaline” (as he mentioned straight after). And then he continues with:

"Now imagine killers have the opposite equivalent of “DS, OTR, DH, Adrenaline” basically 4 perks to ensure you can tunnel out a survivor. Oh ya and now imagine the killer have that times 4, that’s survivor meta for you."

  • Don't get forced into following made up unwritten rules. They try to brainwash you into following rules to get easier games. Whenever people do that I always start making up silly rules on the spot to bait funny replies.

Check the dbd support page for a confirmation: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408586353940-Invalid-report-reasons

  • Gen rush perks? I'd say anti-tunnel is way better. Also Reassurance is slept on, you never see it in solo q even though its very usable there.

If all my teammates ran atleast OTR you'd get way more outs. If you exclude people constantly giving up or unhooking after 10 seconds instead of giving some hooktime. Yes solo q teammates, time on hook = good! Hanging on the hook prevents you from getting tunneled!

  • They also removed the hook upstairs in Thompson House for some reason. I got some people running to the chest spawn in the corner to be unhookable

  • Our bloodweb still cluttered with those offerings which don't work and are not going to work

  • Also some offerings are horribly outdated. Spawning all survivors together should be a killer offering and Shroud of Seperation should be a survivors offering. But is a killer offering?

1 2 3 4 5 … 23
