Quick disclaimer here: This is the average of total chase times each match. It does not distinguish between Survivors who are chased often or not chased at all, so it's not a true reflection of a typical chase. One Survivor might be chased for several minutes, but because the Killer is so focused on them, the other Survivors' chase times will be close to zero.

In other words, some may be chased way more, others way less, and all of that averages out to about a minute per match.

It's also worth noting that this is based on the chase mechanic, so it won't necessarily count every second that the Killer is going after someone. If the Survivor runs early and the Killer isn't close enough for a chase to start, for example, that time is not counted even though you'd probably consider them to be in a chase.

This stat is so inaccurate that I don't understand why it's even included

  • You should consider going comp? Go to DBDL discord and challenge some teams with your Twins. Curious to see your results

  • You're basing all these arguments on the kill rate statistics the devs put out. Top 10 killers according to these statistics:

    70% Skullmerchant - 67% Onryo - (Unknown 64% after release) - (Billy 63% after buff) - 63% Pinhead - 63% Freddy - 62% Plague - 61% Pig - 61% Dredge - 61% Spirit - 61% Myers - 60% Wesker.

Where are Nurse and Blight? Aren't they always considered best and second best? Also, why is Spirit number 10???? Isn't she always considered 3rd best? Or 4th if you rate Billy higher?

Also, these are 'stats' across all mmr. I have over 15.000 (15k) hours on DBD. One time I made a fresh account and went on a 4k streak across all killers for months; I used agi, bbq, lethal and brutal on every killer just to get the games going faster. No gen defence, nothing. Survivors at low/mid level are extremely bad and you could say killers are 'overpowered' at that level. Keep in mind these chill players are also inflating the stats massively, that's why Nurse is not there, Blight is not there, Spirit is 10th.

  • Whatever the game says the winning condition is, so:

    As killer: 3 kills

    As survivor: 3 escapes

  • Change the title to "Can Ya'll Not Give Up"

Only reason why I refuse to play solo q. Like ever. Most dbd players are extremely bad and they constantly give up.

Killer I don't like? Give up. Killer killing people? Give up. Map I don't like? Give up. Teammates are doing their objective (repairing generators) and not farming me? Give up.

  • Gen rushing = Doing your objective efficiently (repairing generators efficiently)

Tunneling = Doing your objective efficiently (killing survivors efficientily)

There you go, explained it. Nothing wrong with either btw, that's how the game is supposed to be played.

  • They are sacrificing 2 generator regression slots for your item. So it's a 2 perk killer if you just drop your item in the corner and move on. I don't get people like you

I meant it's silly comparing doing gens to tunneling. BNP is a finite resource that spawns in the bloodweb extremely infrequently. Let me reiterate, this is a consumable resource. It's rare. Frustratingly so. As are toolboxes and toolbox add-ons. Running gen perks is an option that some people choose and others don't. It sounds like you're mad at coordinated swfs, which is a separate issue. As a soloq, I also have issues with coordinated swfs, but that's not what's being discussed.

Tunneling is available to every killer, every time, with no perks, addons, thought, etc. It's not the same thing at all. There's 0 risk to tunneling unless you commit to a pointless chase, which is 100% a killer decision.

What makes you think survivors can only repair generators efficiently (gen rushing) with BNPs? Survivors simply splitting on 3 generators or committing so hard they even go down just to repair the generator in your face, which you could consider as 'gen rushing' (like killers 'tunnel' their objective survivors 'rush' their objective)

OMG!!! They're doing their objective!!!! Yes, they are. But so is the killer who is 'tunneling' right? He's killing survivors. He's a killer, not a hooker.

When reading back your comments it almost seems like you're angry at players for doing their objective. They're just killing survivors, that's what they're meant to do. If you don't like the gameplay loop, that's a different problem. That's why I said "gen rushing" (simply survivors repairing generators efficiently) to try to show you what you're actually saying. But now "Im mad at coordinated swfs" or somehow you think survivors can only "rush" generators with BNPs. I've never said that. You're missing the point.

  • They even nerfed Pig very recently, for some reason. They even used the joke 'so we have decided to nerf Pig' in recent years but still went on to nerf her 😂

And random buffs for Huntress. Changes to Knight, Singularity. But killers who really need it: Freddy, Pig, Myers (super outdated) keep being left unchanged.

  • 4 survivors = 1 in chase = 3 on generators = 3 generators done in 90 seconds.

    3 survivors = 1 in chase = 2 on generators = 2 generators done in 90 seconds.

Veeeery black and white but I mean I my opinion you asked a silly question. Also you viewing tunneling as someone who's "angry, letting his anger out, being toxic" is kinda crazy to me. Imagine doing your only objective (killing survivors) and then getting hard projected for it. Like doing your only objective on another game and getting called angry+toxic for that. Imagine scoring a goal on fifa and you coming around the corner flaming the guy for being toxic 😭😭

  • @yukiday said:

This can be solved by simply not bringing the item...

Just drop your item in a corner of the map. Not bringing an item because of a potential perk doesn't sound like the way to go.

  • Drop your item in a corner and move on. I don't get why I see so many people complain. I guess you guys would take 4 gen regression over those 2 meme perks.

  • I'd take off the training wheels (Windows) and put on an impact perk like DS or OTR. If you're playing solo maybe a way to find teammates like Kindred or Bond so you can get heals and you could mess with Finesse + Overcome so you're very strong when healthy. In a SWF Unbreakable or Reassurance will clutch that game where you need to clutch (Instead of Kindred/Bond).

  • A bit overkill I'd think. Finesse and Resilience also don't really have synergy. For Finesse you have to be healthy and Resi requires you to be injured.

  • Me being silly:

    • Saying that it takes 90 seconds to repair 3 generators (1 survivor is in chase, 3 are repairing a generator).
    • Saying good survivors can repair 5 generators in 4-5 minutes (remember, 90 seconds for 3 generators, I'm being generous here).
    • Saying you won't be able to get 9 hooks in 4-5 minutes vs good survivors.
    • Killers killing survivors is them just doing their objective.

    Good counter argument.

  • Sometimes I decide to play "nice" , 2-3 gens pop and in the end I have to twerk for 1 or 2 kills and get tbagged at the gate. Yeah I should've known at 5 gens they were good… I guess…

Nah thanks I'm playing to win just like my opponents, they don't follow my made up rules I won't follow theirs.

  • Just drop your item in a corner and move on. I don't understand why even the hardcore grizzled survivors mains wouldn't take that over 4 gen slowdown. Whatever, this community will always complain.

"Gen-rushing" has been nerfed a million times. People doing gens is not the same thing as gen-rushing.

In 90 seconds 3 generators pop. You're always forced to bring boring gen defence perks. 4-5 minutes the game is over vs a good team, you won't be able to get 9 hooks in that time.

People doing gens is not the same thing as gen-rushing = Killers killing people is not the same thing as tunneling. (They're just doing their objective, they're killers not hookers)

  • Why would you care about rules made up by your opponents anyways. If you give in to that it might come to a point where they make such ridiculous rules there's no way you can win without breaking one.

  • Distortion puts immense pressure on your teammates if the killer has an aura build. As you will be invisible but all your teammates will constantly be shown and focussed on.

It would only make sense if everyone uses it or if you have 1 person in your SWF use it to call out aura perks.

  • Well they're just doing their objective in the end, want them to stand still? Theyre killers not hookers

  • Well, it's finally happened. I've become so frustrated that I made an account here to vent.

I've been playing since 2016, and the amount of gen rushing I've seen in this event needs to be discussed. It has been, without exaggeration, 9/10 games. When confronted in EGC, they always just say "Calm down, I'm just playing the game". I don't play a gen regression build because it shouldn't be this much of an issue. If I have to waste 1 to 2 perk slots each game on gen regression perks, it's a bigger issue in general that should be dealt with.

  • How would you fix this problem? Most players are very casual, you can't buff skill.

  • I think iridescent add-ons should be the best add-ons instead of a combination between purple, green and yellow. Some killers even have yellow and brown. They should figure out what the strongest effect is and link it to rarity. Iridescent add-ons are more meme add-ons with huge downsides

  • Back to Pain Res + Pop I guess.

  • There should be some killer instinct revealing the survivors after not getting X amount of objective/altruism points in X amount of time when there are 2 survivors left. Sometimes I just start watching a video and give up. There's nothing more boring than 2 survivors not doing anything in a clearly won game

  • Offerings need a big overhaul anyways.

Killers have an offering to make all survivors spawn seperately (Should be a Survivor offering)

Survivors have an offering to spawn all together (Should be a Killer offering)

Offering to spawn as far away from the Killer as possible is more a downside, as the Killer will always cross the map anyways.

Hatch offerings are only used to get a free key escape. (Hatch is very problematic in itself anyways imo) Should just be a setting in KYF because I know the comp scene likes to use these.

And as you mentioned map offerings are only used to skrew over the other role. Handpicked builds on cerain maps are just lame.

Also the sacrificial ward has the silly side effect of still rolling the map that has been offered even when cancelled. Yes it just "removes the extra luck" map offerings give but its just silly for how rare these sac wards are in bloodwebs. They feel like they have iri rarity.

  • Unless you're trapper. You can just put someone on a hook downstairs, and trap all around. GG

Ya, he talks about bloodpoint, I get it. I also don't care about bloodpoint. However, the hooks always have their meaning/point.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Pop Goes the Weasel, Surge, Call of Brine, etc.😑

    ??? Don't they mean anything???

You don't want to pick 'boring' (as you said) regression perks, you want to pick many other interesting perks (such as revealing-aura perks, exposed perks, oblivious perks, exit gate perks, etc.) but still want to have high regression speed?? What the…, bro?? Don't be too greedy, bro. If so, please think about what happen if all survivors want to pick chasing/escaping perks (DS, Dead Hard, Boil Over,…) while still wanting to have high progression speed, and even high-speed selfcare?

You can't choose them all, bro.

As I said, I still see you blame a lot for regression while still wanting to have many other effective perks. It means that you don't know why the gens fly, and you have to choose the bad play just to win.

As either a survivor or a killer, winning is not the most important thing to me. What I want is decent chasing and decent play. I can lose as long as I have fun with my opponents. I want to see the word 'GGWP' in the chat dialogue.

As I said, I've seen many good killers who can get 4K and have no need to camp, tunnel or slug. Many of them also don't use regression perks. Why don't you watch TTV more to learn how they protect the gens?

My main killer is The Artist, and I know how to use my crows to protect the gens and deal with good looping survivors. Perhaps, you chose the wrong killer who didn't fit your playstyle. Or perhaps, you didn't know how to make good use of the basekit.

You can also search such as 'Deathslinger/Nurse/Blight/… montage dbd' (any killer you want) on YouTube to see how well they use the basekit.

Wait you're telling me to watch people on Twitch and Youtube to learn how to play? Bro I have like 16.000 hours on DBD I don't need any tutorials. You're completely missing the point.

People hate to get camped, tunneled, or to play against Pain Res + Pop every game. Yet those strategies and perks are needed if you want consistent results vs good players. I could beat any solo survivor team with random perks, but if I were to play my own SWF, who all have around my hours, you'd be able to count the hooks on one hand. Because their objective is around 4 minutes (5 generators) and my objective is 3 kills (9 stages) which I would not be able to do in 4 minutes. As my friends won't be going down instantly over and over like 90% of the DBD playerbase.

I never EVER want to see you complain about tunneling and camping. As your solution is "Just put on Pain Res + Pop". And even mentioning Call of Brine, which increases regression from 100% to 125% for a whopping 60 seconds (which is 3.75 seconds extra regression haha!). If you can even let the generator regress for that long!

  • @HEX_DEAD_BY_AI said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730976#Comment_3730976

Ya, many players always blame the nerfed perks, while good players still obtain 4K with nice play.

Not blaming nerfed perks at all. I was talking about the game at base. Regression is 4x slower than progression. When you kick a generator it regresses at 25% repair speed. Meaning every 4 seconds you regress, a single survivor can undo it in 1 second.

You can hook everyone 2 times, and still they repair generators as fast as at the start of the match. Even after getting put on a meathook twice. So why would you not go for the same survivor and decrease their progression by 25%?

There is no reward for hooking. The guy is talking about bloodpoints!! Dont make me laugh I have gathered like 2-3 billion bloodpoints during my years playing. I just want a fair game to play where I have a chance at winning when I'm playing well instead of being forced to always pick boring gen regression perks!

  • @apathyinc said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730959#Comment_3730959

No reward for hooking people? The whole sacrifice score category awards points for hooking and sacrificing survivors. Just knocking them down doesn't reward many points at all.

Points? You mean bloodpoints? What kind of reward is that, I'm always sitting at the cap I don't want bloodpoints. I want play well and win

  • There is no reward for hooking people. People who are on death hook repair generators as fast as people who haven't been hooked. If you want to get rewarded for hooking survivors you have to bring Pain Resonance or Pop. They have extremely boring effects but you are forced to bring them because your regression at base is laughable (25% of survivor repair speed). You regress in 4 seconds what a single survivor can repair in 1 second....

These perks will get nerfed next patch, giving you even less of a reward for hooking (seperate) people. Killer players will be looking for alternatives.

I'm also looking for other perks which can help you level this regression/progression gap. But I found that Surge and Eruption block important center generators extremely fast, making them unreliable. Even when you're not actively "3-genning", when survivors are attacking the same generator over and over they will force you to block it eventually. Also Surge only works with basic attacks. And Call of Brine adds a whopping 3.75 seconds extra regression (that is if you get to regress the generator for 60 seconds minimum) , making it more of an info perk than actual regression.

I might start looking into slugging, with slugging perks. Maybe boring for survivors? But what alternative would you suggest to me

  • They were there early. Got the big licenses and creates a big religious loyal following, who are ready to defend DBD more than their homecountry

  • I actually realised it when I was trying to introduce a friend to the game the other day. I have nearly 16k hours and during our first time playing together and explaining everything I was like... damn... this must boring as hell for him. There are so many things not-new-player-friendly. Even simple things like perks having so much fodder text, its super confusing. The perk should just say the effect, not 5 lines of lore, the effect is very often badly worded and after that a 2-3 line quote from somewhere. All very confusing

  • Thats why you should never trust the week-one "OP" bandwagon. People learn and overcome.

  • The survivors objective is much faster than yours. There is no reward for hooking, unless you use Pain Res or Pop. You should be rewarded for getting downs. No one likes bringing gen defence, since the effect is quite boring. But its necessary if you want consistent results, especially when going for many chases and limiting focussing survivors out of the trial (that will always be the best gen defence)

  • It has nothing to do with her being OP, as she isn't. Old Legion also wasnt OP but still very much disliked. Downing you with only frenzy hits after a few stabs.

Skullmerchant has many problems in her kit when playing against her.

    • As a Survivor you can't get rid of stacks, once you're on that 2nd stack you can just get injured and receive that pile of debuffs by getting forced into a drone ("just crouch" argument doesnt work when in chase).
    • She gets Haste with no obvious tell.
    • Free injure, undetectable, deep wound, hindered, broken and location reveal + being tracked for just pressing M2.
    • She can stack drones in the same area, very problematic in indoor maps especially. When in chase you just get Hindered to death.
    • She can apply (base and with add-ons): Undetectable, haste, deep wound, hindered, broken, oblivious, mangled, haemmorhage, blindness and exhaustion.
    • She can put drones at weird elevations (harvester on Coldwind maps or on the saloon table on Dead Dawg for example) which look like wont hit you but they still do.
    • Her getting faster, you getting hindered on top of getting injured with her not having to hit you is too much.

A few things I could think of. Her 'fix' just feels rushed and with the forever 3-gen problem gone she wouldnt have been a problem anyways. This feels like old Legion or Franks Mixtape Legion all over again, boring to play against

  • Nurse and stack 4 gen defence I'd say

  • Hallway shift W meta 😱😱😱😱😱

  • The only reason why I don't like SoloQ is because of my teammates. You can't buff people being bad at the game, or having no backbone. First down they just immediately give up. Sometimes the progression doesn't even matter, 3 other survivors splitting on gens, they still go next. I don't understand what they want. Just ban people for 24 hours if they DC or put them in a Bad Sports queue. And remove 4% and the skillcheck struggle phase. If you decide to play you have to stay.

  • I agree, also perks like Call of Brine and Overcharge have remained in their hard nerfed version even after the introduction of the 8x kick limit. Like what does Call of Brine do again? Makes the generator regress at 125% speed instead of 100%? So 25% faster for 60 seconds? And survivor repair at 400% regression speed. Kicking the generator already loses the time you gain with Call of Brine...

Why not buff Ruin, Call of Brine and Overcharge back to 200% but hard cap extra regression to 200% of the regression speed so you cant stack regression perks? Like 200% is still 2x slower than a survivor repairs SOLO (and there are 4 of them)

  • Freddy, Ghostface, Trapper, and Myers if you dont count the Tombstone piece

  • @MarbleThrone said:

You can hold down Shift to prevent someone from healing you, move a bit and shake wildly to indicate you dont want to have them help you.

But yeah, it needs something like a blue buff icon in the bottom right corner.

They could just add an icon in the HUD. Also there being no difference between cleansing a dull, cleansing a Hex, booning a dull or booning a Hex. Is quite annoying

  • Same with others perks. Like a locker showing in yellow when you are in there with Head-On ready. Just small tweaks for solo q. Also people sprinting away when I have botany or 5 stacks of autodidact is quite annoying.

What would be perfect is to just show everyones perks in the loading screen. The mobile version has already had this feature for such a long time

  • @DetectiveDuckMain said:

… WoO was meant to help not that experienced survivors. Even if high mmr and rank 1 players are using it they can't remove it because people are still learning the maps, the playstyle, and the game.

What are rank 1 players? Players who completed their Grade rewards for that month?

  • "Fixing" the "bug" where Freddy could place snares through walls. Such an unnecessary fix

  • I'd always use Corrupt on low tier killers. Sadly slowdown is necessary if you want to have somewhat of a chance against decent teams. Its a shame because they dont do anything other than regressing generators, which is a quite boring effect. Pain Resonance and Pop are the only useful ones. You could argue Surge since Freddy is an m1 killer. 4th you could also use Bamboozle, or maybe Noed.

  • @miniwengsel said:

There are too much factors in it to be able to implement.

    The factors would be like:

    • Killer Skill
    • Survivor Skill
    • Swf or solo que
    • the number of meta slowdown perks
    • the perks of the survivors meta or casual
    • Map size
    • Map rng
    • Killer strengh
    • Is he tunneling or not
    • The strengh of the Killer addons
    • The items of the survivors
    • The addons of the survivors
    • elo
    • Gens remaining
    • etc

All of these have to be considert and its not easy, because they play each other out sometimes. I would say in some scenarios it would be plesend to disable them, BUT the same could you say about the survivor perks. For example if you say four slowdowns on a S Tier Killer is unfair, I would say four survivors with four second chance perks is also unfair right. I play both sides like 40/60 and I can tell you in both scenarios, if you dont bring these two against each other you most likely get destroyed and even that you cant tell is always the case. Both can be defeted, when they dont have skill outside of the perks and yes you defenently can defeat the other side just by your loadout survivors more then Killer I would say. (More doesnt means Killers cant do that) Two examples where on side won cause of Laodout. (Im in both the Killer, because I dont use any meta perks or Items as survivor. )

Killer (Me) Wins by Loadout. I have a sweat build while the survivors are more casual.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IDFRTVUBEI5P/image.png

    The Survivors out Loadout Me

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CGBETRZ4H90C/image.png

So as a conclusion. No I woulnt remove the slowdown Perks when someone dies. If you would do that, than they also have to remove Perks on the survivor side and just because of this the system wouldnt make any scence. Yes four slowdowns can be hard, but against something like on the second picture they would be nessasary.

P.S. Please dont tell me you can counter the builds by not tunneling. Ive tryed, but they force the tunnel and disable me, so I cant do somting else.

It still baffles me mobile has all these cool features the main game doesn't even have. Being able to see your teammates perks before the match starts is so big? And also this match history system with all these stats. Wow.

Yesterday was indeed bad, but the matches I had today was the polar opposite. No one tunneled at all. So I guess it is also a "luck of the draw" when it comes to who you are opposing. Had some excellent chases, escaped some matches, and got sacrificed in others in order to give the team a chance at escaping.

Granted, I still faced Pain Res + Pop in 75% of the games I played.

Pain Res + Pop are actually excellent perks which reward you for getting downs. No other perk does that. Tunneling is the only other slowndown which does more than those 2 perks. But as long as you keep 4 survivors alive, they will all repair gens as fast as if you haven't hooked them yet. They can be on 2nd hook but have no penalty whatsoever.

1 2 3 4 … 23
