Burn out. Normal and most people go through it.

mft is a broken perk and just helps subtle cheaters. it still amazes me that bhvr still refuses to gut this broken ass perk.
The same could be said about killers using aura perks to cover wall hacks. Most try and pass it off as BBQ&Chilli, and you can only pick it if you run Distortion.
-
If the killer isn't camping, then the timer will be empty anyway. So you can come back to hook shortly before next stage hits and secure it without filling up the timer enough for them to jump.
-
Hook grabs are terrible for the person on hook, having to suffer through the 'dance' between team mate and killer (being grabbed and ungrabbed multiple times). I don't miss it.
-
Yeah I never get them. Have subscribed under two different email addresses and no luck

As it should be, it’s kind of ridiculous to get constant and passive perfect loop knowledge with zero cool-down.
If it’s not that a big deal then why not have a hard counter killer perk that blinds survivors in chase or something that doesn’t require any prerequisite like wasting time with lockers or risk losing it with hexes.
Or maybe another approach is to consider exactly why a perk that is over 5 years old is suddenly considered the best perk for survivors? Maybe maps having less and less pallets than they used to is a reason? And the ones we are given tend to be more and more unsafe. Less pallets = more deadzones = faster downs. Maybe the devs can look at why so many survivors feel they need to run the perk and go from there.

I'm shocked Ultimate Weapon isn't listed. I've seen it in most matches anymore.
If they posted these stats at the end of Oct, then I think it would be on there and BBQ will have dropped dramatically. I didn't start seeing UW frequently until at least a couple weeks after chapter release.
-
I'm in Western Australia, and I get put in an Asian server alot. Self Care is very common, and definitely not just new players. I also don't see MFT as much as others seem to, which makes sense because using SC means you don't plan to play injured. Having reliable team mates is uncommon, it's true. But likewise, I see very little camping and tunnelling in my server (per my own stats, tunnelling averages about 1 in every 12 games, and camping around 1 in every 15). Different regions seem to have different approaches to and attitudes around gaming.
-
I saw some people talking about it on Facebook, that's very cool

It may be of interest to ask why they are dc'ing. If you start with the assumption that everyone is looking to enjoy a match, why would someone sit through queue only to dc right away. I promise you it isn't because there was just a killer. These survivors are bearing the trauma of untold previous matches where they had zero fun. They learned the lesson (incorrectly maybe), that their fun is increased if they go next.
IMO this situation has grown to the level it has, because behavior is so slow in identifying problems that compromise the fun of the game for both sides. They only seem to react, when the problem is so large it might threaten the ongoing viability of the game. I'm thinking of the patch where they introduced new animations to survivor and it made juking killers impossible. There was a mass exodus of survivors, and Behavior was damn quick to undo that change.
Yeah I'm inclined to agree. I've played for a few years now, and know people will always DC over silly things. That will never change. But I think when it gets to such a point, where it's happening so often, it may be a symptom of a bigger problem.

Context is definitely important on these.
For example, on the survivor ones, 7 of them, are free perks that every survivor has access to with the base game. The fact that MFT is so high up is because it is so broken/meta. Windows is always seen as a "noob friendly" perk, so that is why its usage is high. The big outlier here is lithe which is interesting.
I think it's all alot simpler. People tend to use perks to help with weaknesses. Killers prioritise gen regression perks, as gen pressure can be difficult, survivors prioritise chase perks, as loops can be difficult to learn. MFT is a decent chase perk.
-
If it stresses you out, then don't play it. It's not worth it. I play mostly survivor and will only play killer when I'm in the mood. It doesn't stress me out at all - I actually find DBD very relaxing (I have anxiety) - but I play whatever role I feel like and it's usually survivor. I think because survivor you have the opportunity to switch off every now and then. With killer your mind is active frequently.

Kill rates are still kept hidden. Those must so damaging.
Kill rates have never been shared with the exception of last year, and last year it was shared because they wanted to show the impact of the killer buffs of 6.1 (which were intended to bump up kill rates, and they succeeded, hence they showed us).

@Marc_go_solo said:
What interests me is the diversity of perks throughout the years varies largely between survivor and killer.
Of the survivor perks, only 1 is relatively recent (MFT). Then there's a long gap to Windows Of Opportunity, and the rest are basically either from DBD's first year, with maybe a couple from the second year.
The killer perks are more varied. There are a couple of early ones such as NOED and Sloppy Butcher, but the rest are spread throughout the ages, with the most recent (Nowhere To Hide) was just last year.
This may be because more players on the survivor side will be using the original perks than on the killer side, but it's still interesting as to how differing this is between the two roles.
I've pointed this out a few times on here. IMO it shows how rare it is for survivors to get decent, actually helpful perks. Killers will equip those perks they perceive will help them get a 4k - gen regression makes sense, as the longer a game goes on, the more opportunity to have survivors burn through resources/pallets. Survivors appear to equip chase perks more, to help them last longer in chase/loops and to hopefully buy their team time to get gens done. So the only recent perk on the list being MFT makes sense. It's a decent chase perk.
-
Trickster for sure, I agree. I also dislike Pinhead but not because of the killer himself, just because of how hard solo queue team mates make his games.
-
I've definitely noticed an increase in Kindred usage these days
-
If they remove swf, then lots of players would leave. Survivor escape rates would also drop (as, per the devs, playing in a swf can increase your chances of survival by up to 15%, so I'd put escape rates at around 25%-30% (if that)) if everyone had to play solo. Lower escape rates would lead to killer nerfs, which would anger killer mains. It'd be just an all around bad idea.
-
I don't know what's happening lately. I have never seen it this bad. Every game I play someone is DCing or letting go on hook. I just had a game against Legion, he wasn't tunneling or camping or anything, and two people let go on hook and one DCd. We were doing good too, it was a winnable game as far as I was concerned. It seems like as soon as one does it, everyone else just decides its pointless to keep playing and they give up too.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to hit a survivor up there with the tail attack however, is it not? I haven't tried it myself and I also haven't tried to play haybale against Xeno, but I can't see why it wouldn't just be a free and easy hit.
He didn't get the hit and ended up leaving me (made me pay later though). I dunno if I was just lucky with my dodges or maybe far enough back that my hitbox wasn't accessible, but he certainly tried different angles to no avail.

How can I do this if I have no connection with my teammates? In some cases, a teammate will repair what they see, and then a triangle of generators сan happen. If the generator in that place was repaired and the door opened, that would be great, but few random teammates would risk it for a random teammate.
I understand, as I play solo queue too, so I know team mates can play less than optimally. So I'll just do what I can when I have the opportunity. To avoid 3 genning (triangle) I hit the gen closest to the centre of the map first. Doing gens on the outside of maps first just make the maps smaller. If you want something done you usually need to do it yourself.

It is funny how harvester has gone through about 80 different iterations, and they keep tinkering with it. Someone at BHVR has a real penchant for these things.
Anyway, harvester prior to this change had been pretty useless for survivors. Best thing you could use it for is Balanced Landing, or trying to win the 50/50 on making the killer think you are vaulting ramp side so they jump onto it, then vaulting haybale side instead. Why they removed the ability for survivors to also jump to the haybale on the ramp side I don't understand. It made the tile interesting and fair to play for both sides.
That said, I will take the current harvester over the boring previous version. Various killers can play around the haybale (and not only ranged killers either - Trapper can trap it, Wraith can catch up, Hag can trap it, Myers vaults faster and catches up as a result, Doctor can prevent the vault, Bubba can crash into the haybale and get you up there with tantrum, Freddy can trap it, Clown can gas it, Spirit can both surprise-vault and catch up, Demo can shred you on the way back up, Oni has Fury, Plague has Corrupt Purge, Pyramid can get you through the vault, Blight catches up or might even be able to rush hit you up there, Twins can leave Victor down there, Nemesis can use strafe tech to get the tentacle hit, Pinhead can use chains to catch up, Artist can leave a bird down there or even shoot one up, Dredge can leave the remnant down there or up there, Wesker can vault it with a bound, catching up as a result, or just use bounds to catch up after vaulting, Knight has guards, Singularity can teleport to you up there), it's really only Billy, Pig, Legion, Ghostface, Sadako and Skull Merchant that can actually get forced to vault more than once. And not even that is guaranteed: if the survivor jumps off the haybale when the vaulting animation starts, they do not make it back around to the window. They have to jump when they see the killer up there, which opens up mindgame potential, either to surprise the survivor with the vault or to make them jump off prematurely, then drop off to the side or vault ramp side, to try and cut them off. Bamboozle also exists, something you'd be well-advised to use on M1 killers anyway.
I had fun with a Xeno on it. He was on the ground trying to hit me on the haybale with his tail attack (pre-change). It went on for so long I'm pretty sure he was just curious about whether or not it was even possible to get the hit.

CS only suppresses the annoying scream. Everything else is still applicable, same as with Doctor's blasts (still applies madness), UW (still applies blindness) etc
-
I don't cleanse because there's no point. You cleanse, then jump on a gen or unhook someone a second later and just get infected again. And in the meantime she gets her power. Stay infected and just smash gens is my approach.
-
Furtive Chase was already part of the update, whether it was changed after PTB or not. The point of the PTB is to test upcoming changes and tweak them as needed. Their time and resources were already wrapped up in this perk for this update.
-
I suppose they could add the timer under the hook icon, but then that would give away if a killer was coming and going from the hook (you'd see the timer move every few seconds) which maybe the devs feel is too much info. Also I'm pretty sure the anti-camp is purely about the person on hook and giving them a chance to participate in the game, not about giving the team as a whole a leg up (swf will always be an exception because there's nothing BHVR can do about comms)
-
Some maps you just have to play a bit smarter against certain killers. Knight relies on zoning, so yeah, an enclosed room is not the best place to end up in with him. Hit those gens when he's preoccupied with other survivors to get the walls to open and create more space.
-
"With the implementation of the AFCS, however, survivors can simply work quietly to repair generators once they know the killer is camped out"
This is what we've always been advised to do anyway whenever a killer was facecamping. It's always been touted as the best way to counter camping. I believe the Anti-camping method was made with the hooked person in mind, because they literally have to just hang there and not participate at all.
I'm kind of reserving judgement on it anyway for the time being. I don't camp when I play killer, and I rarely see camping as a survivor, so I don't feel like I'll notice any impact in my games.
-
I always try take a hit. I don't care if I get tunnelled though. I rarely do anyway. Best way I've found to get tunnelled is to take a later hit with OTR. But I'll do that when the person being chased is on death hook and I'm not, as I can afford the hook state. The worst part of solo q has always been bad team mates, so I make it a point to not add to the problem and to help other players out. We always hear from killers about how certain strats and approaches are necessary at certain points of the game, well it's the same for survivors - if someone is on death hook, the team is better off with them in the game than out of the game.

Did you stop using Kindred?!
I did unfortunately. I started playing around with other builds and just never ended up equipping Kindred again

How do Twitch Streamers do this though? Some of them play for a living and surely must have more hours than me. I've heard a few people say they have 10,000 hours in the game.
I can't speak for all, but most of the streamers I watch average about 4 hour streams and they also take days off. There are some who do stream every day, one in particular comes to mind but I've seen him wear glasses often so he does have eye issues to some degree. There's also the fact that everyone is different, and eye issues are often genetic. So some people are more susceptible to issues than others.
I'm sorry to hear you're going through some tough times at the moment. I completely understand how gaming can give an escape from reality, but it's not a particularly healthy coping mechanism. Look into therapy, and force yourself to get out in the sun and be more active. You might feel safe and comfortable cooped up inside but you're depriving yourself of other valuable mental and physical needs. Take care of yourself!
-
Oh wow that's alot. I typically play a couple hours on a good day, with breaks. Somedays I don't play at all, on the rare occasion I'll play 5 or so hours (usually when I'm sick and spending my time on the couch, like I am currently. Still with breaks). I'm not an optometrist but if your eyes are hurting then there's a good chance it's related to your gaming.

I can't give up Kindred though, not in SoloQ.
I used Kindred for a good year after I started playing. It's one of the best perks for solo q (We'll Make It is another).

Additional info:
Started game up again and was able to load up survivor. Started spending some bloodpoints then it froze and the game reloaded with this error message below
Reloaded the game, bloodweb seemed okay this time. Selected to find a match and instead got this error
Thanks!

I'm thinking the same thing. I just got bored of my usual. I'm looking through all these perks. I have everyone P3 and the vast majority of these perks are so situational or just not worth it.
Yeah, the struggle is real with survivor perks. You want to keep things interesting without potentially dragging the team down.
-
Same. I wonder if there's a region where hacking is more popular/prominent.
-
Might give this combo a go. My build needs a change up.

If there's one certainty I have about this playerbase in general, it's that they're crazy impatient
-
Pretty sure they do it purely to ensure other players have a bad time. That's it.

This would be good. I usually just grab what I want first, then select auto buy. I find it's not too time consuming.

The player count has always gone up and down. During the pandemic I imagine was probably the busiest period for alot of games, and people simply don't have that sort of time on their hands anymore. Having said that, I personally am finding it a struggle these days to retain interest. For the first time since I started playing 3 years ago, I'm having numerous consecutive games where team mates just give up to go next. I used to see it every now and then but it happened in 7 games out of 12 I played yesterday, 4 of them in a row. I think that is just one symptom of a larger problem. People getting to that level of frustration isn't a good thing. I can imagine they're not having good games in general if they're just walking up to the killer and asking them to down them.
-
I don't use it enough but I think We'll Make It is the best perk. It can really carry a team.
-
I just played a game, as survivor, where a Kate and I were at the exit gate, with Kate 99ing it. Saw on the HUD that Meg was being chased and now injured, so both of us ran back in to try and help her. Killer left her and came for us, I opened the other gate and killer hit me out the exit. Kate got downed and hooked and the Meg? I spectated and saw her open the other exit gate and then stand there pointing at Kate's hooked aura and tbagging repeatedly. At that point I wish the Kate and I had just opted to leave earlier.
-
Xeno and Deathslinger for me today. Played 12 games total and 3 were Deathslinger and 3 Xeno. The rest were 2 Weskers, Spirit, Singularity, Twins, and a Nemesis.
-
I see him quite often, more than alot of the killer roster actually
-
I've played against plenty of Trappers in basement and can't recall the last time any of them camped down there. They strategically place their traps and let them do most of the work. They come back when a survivor messes with them and usually create chaos then.
-
I've never been able to work it out and given up trying. She has directional phasing but damn if I can tell where it's coming from, even with headphones on. I just take a guess and usually die.
