I doubt it will happen but I hope the base Legion skins get a visual rework (like Trapper, Doc and many survivors did) so they look more like the cover of this comic.
I really like Julie's hair here and both hers and Frank's masks look much better.
-
I find it incredibly scummy. If I'm not doing a rift challenge or going for adept and someone throws like that, I let the others escape. If someone manages to unhook before the thrower gets sacrificed, I slug the thrower and let them bleed out. No sympathy for quitters.
-
It can be done but it's extremely inconsistent depending on which killer you play as, which map you get and who you match up against.
Against a try-hard survivor group (not necessarily SWF), I'd say it's almost impossible as any killer except Nurse, Blight and maybe Spirit.

You’re wrong. 10k hours is just outside the range for baby survivor. And I don’t give af about bullying killers. I like tough but fair games. The hard fought ones that end in 2ks are great. The problem is Nurse and Blight games are always 3-4ks. Mostly 4ks. Now let me spell it out for you:
It’s not about increasing everything. It’s about balance. If you’re advocating making solo queue as strong as swf, then theoretically you could just make swf as weak as solo queue. If you could do that then you could nerf certain killers to make things more of a 50% win ratio, by level. The reason I tend to call for nerfs is because your proposal will NEVER HAPPEN. Solo queue will never be as strong as SWF so we need to stop acting like it can be and thus leaving killer balanced to your rare killer SWF. But in the interest of finding common ground… if your proposal COULD work, sure. I’d be all for it, because it’s simple proposing to make everything fair which should end up at a 50% win ratio balanced by level. I’m saying the same thing but saying that solo queue is the variable that needs to be accounted for much more seriously. You can’t jsut make it stronger and leave everything else as-is. You’re going to have to make some things weaker and bring things down to solo queue level.
They're already trying to get solo survivors up to some level of SWF-esque coordination with the HUD changes.
If they find that these changes have had a significant impact on kill-rates, it's pretty likely that we will see killer buffs to level things out again. Chances are these buffs will also help your "favourite" killers too.

I agree. They can move the screen dimming/fading effects to the dying state since looking around isn't as important there and it makes more sense.

You just created this topic:
I bring it up, because you've done something fairly unique and mature among DBD players. You've taken responsibility for your own psychological state and how it affects your gameplay.
Instead of lobby dodging TTV's and clan tags, you've hidden names so that seeing them doesn't affect your performance. Despite that fact that these are clearly indicators that these are probably higher calibre survivors with a higher likelihood of having more hours in the game, and a higher likelihood of being a SWF and using communication.
These are probably more influential on the outcome of the match than the map you play on.
So why not apply the same attitude towards maps offerings?
Honestly, the idea of making them hidden offerings never occured to me but I think that could be a good idea.
Aside from the balance issues though, it is frustrating having so many map offerings take up what could've been add-ons, items or BPS. It's an issue that is just going to get worse as more realms are added. I guess they could group multiple realms together into a single offering but even that wouldn't fully address the issue.
-
Remove them all and replace them with Party Streamers. Everyone's happy except the one person who still plays Scratched Mirror Myers on Lery's.

Just being unfun isn't enough of a reason. The game is full of unfun mechanics. (tunneling, map offering, super safe loops, camping, flashlight blinding at every pallet, etc....)
What could u even replace these offerings with?
Bloody Party Streamers

Surveillance has the advantage of working with other regression sources. Jolt, Ruin (if you can keep it up at all), Pain Res, etc. It does have a distinct edge over CoB if you don't want to keep kicking ######### all game.
Totally agreed, it's just in the current meta that it serves no purpose. Kind of crazy how kicking gens went from being a total waste of time to the go-to strategy.
-
Survivors need an easier way to share information to bring solo more in-line with SWF (which we're getting, so that's awesome).
Many, many maps need reworking including some that have already been reworked once (looking at you, Gideon. You're meant to be a converted slaughter house, not a pallet factory). This is honestly taking too long but at least it is being worked on.
Some gen regression *and* gen progression perks are too strong. We don't need to mention Eruption any more than it has been already- we all know it's overtuned. Call of Brine outclasses Surveillance in almost every way, overcharge would be fine without it stacking with the previously mentioned perks. Prove Thyself has always been incredibly strong for how little effort you need to put in to get value out of it, at least Overzealous and Hyperfocus have some risk to them. Potential Energy can be good but every time I see it used, it hurts the survivors a lot more than it helps them (kinda like Self Care).
Honestly though, changing the meta probably won't make the game more fun, at least long term. People will always try to optimise the fun out of DbD.
Matchmaking though, that really needs to be looked at. Every game I've played since coming back to the fog has either been stomp or get stomped on with no matches where I felt it could go either way.

Yes, If the killer didn't harass you for approx 1 minute you can do one (!) gen fast as solo.
It's not 2 generators in 100 seconds because you need entire toolbox to have Hyperfocus value.
Also if you have prove killer may just equip Discordance and harass you when you are doing gen, again, making this build useless.
Wait, you can see survivor perks before the game starts now?
-
I think my escape rate hasn't really changed, or at least I haven't noticed any difference.
-
100% Iron Will was overpowered. Maybe if they somehow finally managed to fix the audio issues, it can come back but right now it needs to stay gone.
-
Legion wouldn't be annoying if BHVR weren't so insistent on holding M1 being the main gameplay for survivors.
-
As always, it will depend on the time of day and what region you're in.
I can't see *that* many people quitting to be honest.

Level 30, 35 and 40 aren't a thing anymore? Prestiging will put the perks on your perk list. If you have P1 Dwight, you have PT tier 1 immediately, but for having tier 2 and 3, you need to level up the character you want the perk with or prestiging more Dwight.
Correct. Teachable perk unlocks at 30/35/40 won't be a thing going forward.
-
@TheMadCat said:
P0 = no perks unlocked (but the teachables can be found in the bloodweb of other Survivors).
P1/P2/P3 = tier one/tier two/tier three of the teachables are unlocked for everyone.
Characters who already unlocked the perks: they will keep them, no matter if Dwight is P0 or P3.
I do hope I answered the question! And I'd wait for the update before prestiging... and even leveling too much. I P3 Spirit a few days ago and she will sit at P3 level 1 until the update. For now, I'm focusing on P1 other Killers so I know I'll have tier 1 for Spirit immediately. (And if I have time, I'll start to P2/P3 the Killers I really want the perks for Spirit).
But don't worry, you shouldn't lose anything you already earned.
Have a nice weekend and stay safe as well.
This is mostly correct but you can't find teachables unless you've prestiged their respective character at least once.

They're working on a system to let people know when they're within the terror radius.

Bradley Walsh is the Observer confirmed?

I hate boons.
The amount of times I've unhooked someone and they've ran off to bless a totem, only to get hit and rehooked by the killer is astounding.

It fundamentally misunderstands the character of Amanda and John, their dynamic, and basically everything.
Tapp's story is amazing and solves a major plot hole. Amanda's is... not so
Thanks for sharing this video. SAW was the franchise that got me interested in horror, Pixel Bush's explanation of Amanda's story is far and away the best one I've seen.
-
One day the game will die, as will everything else but I think it's a long, long way off.
The game is on current gen consoles and is still getting regular updates. Even when the servers shut down, people will still play P2P (which many will actually say is an improvement, given how rough dedicated servers have been).
-
I play more killer than survivor but I dislike all map offerings.
Being sent to a map can suck but really I don't like them because they take up spots in my bloodwebs that could've been party streamers.
-
They really, *really* shouldn't have used the word "skill" at any point during their MMR shenanigans...
As for the discussion, I can see both points. The current system lacks nuance and thus many skillful plays (for both killer and survivor) aren't directly taken into consideration. It's very frustrating to know that all of your effort in a game can be reduced to nothing if you don't meet the final objective (this feels worse as a survivor, to me and I think many others but it still can apply to killer too).
On the flip side, maybe looking at MMR as a win or lose isn't the right way to go about it. The way it's designed (when it works and isn't being stretched thin because of queue times) would allow you to play the way you want and eventually you'll reach a place where the odds of a "victory" are about even. The people who make risky plays should reach a level where they can make those plays and escape whereas those who play extremely safe should reach a point where they can't keep getting away with it.
Honestly I don't really know how I sit with the system anymore. I just play trials and try not to care about whether I get many kills or get through an exit gate.
-
Every single licensed map is bad and some are straight up terrible.
-
For me it does feel about right most of the time.
The only exception is when I come across a SWF who are going out of their way to make the trial as painful as possible for me. Thankfully, this doesn't happen all too often but when it does I start playing a different game.
-
Deja Vu for survivor, Lethal Pursuer for killer.
-
With a great deal of pain at times.
But seriously though, it's not that bad. You just have to lean into the meta more than usual.
-
I don't think SWF is the real issue. It's certain perks and offerings that allow for bully squads to thrive that are the issue.
Take the boil over buff for example, it's absolutely brutal to face a SWF on a map with any drop spots if they all have this perk (thankfully the drop progress is being nerfed but I can still see it being an incredibly annoying perk if you don't have Iron Grasp on). With solo survivors, it's unlikely to make too much of a difference.
Map offerings should be scrapped entirely. Some maps are just too imbalanced for one side and being able to just choose to play that map is not good. At the very least they should make the offering to cancel maps a common rarity item so we can do it more often.
-
Meh, not really.
Licensed content has always been the weakest IMO because they really show just how bad characters look in DbD and every licensed map has been awful.
-
My God some people have way too much time on their hands...
It's only a game, why you have be mad?
-
How does the killer know you're streaming in the first place?

And this happens all the time with symbols and imagery. Just look at probably the most well know symbol in modern times, the swastika. You’re probably not going to get away with wearing one on your arm even if you try to claim “well, actually the Nazis stole it”
Black face isn’t something new and frankly I’m surprised when this was in the development stage no one said “Yikes, probably not a good idea”. Before anyone says it, I know, I know it’s keeping in lore with Bubba. Well isn’t a real historical person. Removal of the masks doesn’t change anything.
I agree. I wish BHVR owned up to their mistake of adding the cosmetics in the first place instead of using the player base as the reason for their removal (even if the players in question are [BAD WORD]).
Of course if they owned up to it like that, they'd be admitting that they've been enabling black face for the past however long it's been since the TCM paragraph came out...
-
Honestly I thought the face masks were a pretty dumb idea to begin with and I'm surprised it took this long for them to be removed.
What does concern me though is the amount of people celebrating their removal because it removes a tool for racists. If these idiots (the racists) got organised enough they could turn any character or cosmetic into a symbol of racism/harassment if the community lets them.

Killers here want to easily 4k with 100 hours trapper against 16.000 hours SWF. That’s all
The fact that a killer with 100 hours can face a 16K SWF at all is a huge issue.

I mained legion, Kate and Jeff.
For killer I'd probably move to Spirit, for survivor Mikaela I guess

The MMR isn´t the Problem. The balancing IS the problem. MMR just made it more visible.
People don´t like the MMR, because now they constantly get matched with/against sweating players instead of occasionally. Because they can´t roflstomp noobs anymore, it´s suddenly an issue.
My games got less consistent, funnily enough.
Playing as my most played killer (legion) I almost always get 3 games in a row of stomping survivors, followed by one sweaty game where I almost always get stomped. That cycle then repeats.
I've since stopped playing but not because of MMR or boons, I just got burnt out.

I very much agree with you here. But MMR needed to happen and I am glad it has, because it is the first step required to balance the game. Now the best survivors are playing the best killers, the devs can monitor how they compare.
I'm sure they will finally see that survivors (SWF in particular) have a large advantage that CAN be addressed. They just have to make a potentially devisive decision: buff solos and killers in away that takes the SWF advantage away. A lot can be accomplished by listening to the players and trying some balance changes on the PTB.
This would be great but I have next to no faith in BHVR anymore.
Maybe they'll do a good job but considering that they said the most recent live patch wasn't going to happen again for a while (big balance changed)... Yeah, maybe things will get better in like, a year or two but right now I'm just burnt out and not having fun.
-
*Laughs in Legion*

They should swap no mither's noise reduction with iron will's. It's ridiculous to me that no mither doesn't give 100% noise reduction considering just how much of a risk it is to run. As for iron will, it's just too strong.

Legion.

No scratch marks? Didn't use them anyway.

I don't find them OP because I play a killer who isn't realt affected by either of the perks.
Can't imagine playing against CoH as a weaker killer like Trapper or Pig though.
