How would the shark from Jaws work? He would have to be underwater all the time, which none of the maps have?! Also, Kanye West?! Really?!?!

You have a point, Kanye thinks of himself as a higher being, so he might be the entity himself.

I'm about 98% sure the whole post is a joke, so I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Wrong, it is 100% a joke.

Oh, I forgot killer: Make your choice,

    Dying Light,

    Surge,

    Thanatophobia,

    Surveillance

    and I'm all ears.

Most of these were mentioned above, but great picks. Surge is very good for gen builds and makes for quite a strong build on pyramid head. Thanataphobia is something I find very underwhelming because it only works on like 2 killers.

Lithe, I think it's the best and most useful exhaustion perk, and it happens to be the only one that I can use (aside from Balanced, but after the nerf it feels so clunky I hate it)

    Spine Chill (Lowkey OP)

Calm Spirit (Quite good actually, if it worked against the Plague, which I don't think it does, I think it'd be viable)

    Resilience (Lowkey OP)

And Botany knowledge, efficient healing, and makes SC viable when paired with it.

Not a fan of resilience. Spine chill is like in my top 4 favourite survivor perks, it also helps a lot in a chase. Lithe is my favourite exhaustion perk because it helps in chases more then sprint burst.

Honestly, Camaraderie. I've seen it be used where It's possible to get two people off the hook where I'd normally have to pick one over the other, Or used to keep a proxy camping killer away from gens for just that little bit longer. It's actually saved a few games for some of my team mates before and I find it to be one of those perks thats good, but just not as good as other perks you could use in its place.

Also Vigil. I started using vigil with fixated and sprint burst to get my sprint burst back on mind gameable tiles where I can start to walk for a while and the amount of times that fixated has let me just barely sneak by the killer by going around the corner without leaving scratchmarks by walking is amazing to me, giving me more recharge time on my sprint burst mid chase.

I haven't used camaraderie enough to give my opinion, but you sound very convincing. I agree with you on vigil, it can help you and many others recover from status effects faster, and people hate it now because of the exhaustion nerf.

I believe Ace in the Hole is a rather underrated perk. I get there's a lot of better perks, but with all the complaints about the add-on loss I'd think it would be ran a little more.

I usually run it with pharmacy and plunderer's.

    Medkits for days

I believe it is Aces' only good perk, but I agree. It synergizes very well with plundered and pharmacy. I also think those 2 perks are underrated.

I just played a match against a Michael Myers and he's chasing me an he catches up to me, grabs me and kills me with a mori. Never hooked me or downed me he just straight up grabs my shoulder as I'm running an stabs me. That is so ridiculous. As if the killers aren't over powered enough I can just straight get eliminated out of nowhere? I know people complain about keys being unfair but at least you have to complete some generators or something to spawn the hatch before you can use it. I don't mind the moris as much when there's some type of requirement before they can just start eliminating players. If a killer eliminates a player that quick its just as bad as someone DCing for the rest of the team an makes it basically a throw away game.

You do know that he has to get tier 3 for that to work and with that addon it takes longer to get evil within tier 3. I don't know if this is satire because you said "Moris need nurf" when it is the tombstone addon. Also you spelled 'nerf' 'nurf' which seems very sarcstic.

I think they need to fix optimisation on console before that and also they need to fix the FPS drops.

Small Game is hardly situational. It tells you where totems are, and warns you if theres a trap in front of you

Totems are not very meta anymore, ever since ruin has been nerfed. I still love running devour and haunted grounds, but not much people use hex perks anymore. Also it is situational because it relies on the killer being a trap killer.

I know, this problem has a long history and I'm sure everybody have experienced it several times, but it's really making me sorrowful, not because generally some player can't control their inner anger and they spam the postchat with garbage comments because they lost, but because some idiots with mental issues literally threatening me and my playmates. For instance, in the last game a guy said that he is gonna find me and murder my whole family (Because I looped him around the shack 🤯). This kind of hateful speech is quite frequent for me, especially during PTB, which is utterly inapprehensible, because the beta doesn't have any meaningful consequences on future results in stats etc. I report them without question, but I really wonder if the devs pay attention to that kind of issues.

I'm curious about you guys, what are your experiences during PTB? Am I the only one who encounters problematic players that often?

I feel bad for you. I suggest just saying gg and leaving. Don't let those idiots get to your head. I can't go into the ptb because I am on console. Side note: I think the word you are looking for is disrespectful, not unrespectful.

    Kindred for solo players.

It's very underrated in the red/purple ranks as a solo survivor. I tend to bring it in case I'm with a 3/2 man survive with friends. Kindred is very strong in regards to communication and coordinates among on teammates. If you're a solo survivor and you bring kindred you'll no doubt have someone save you in no time as they can be sure who's going for the save or not.

I agree, I run it on most of my builds since I solo queue all the time. It can provide information on who the killer is as well.

Spine Chill and Small Game. No clue why people seem to hate running them

Spine chill is one of the best survivor perks in the game, not just to let you know if the killer is coming towards you, but in a chase you can tell if he is mindgaming. Small game is VERY situational so I disagree.

    Dying Light.

This perk is weak as hell on most killers, but for killers like Plague, and Legion, It is a godsend. Especially when paired with Thanatophobia; the time it buys the killer by slowing down gen progression for 75% of the survivor team almost always guarantees a win. It goes mostly underestimated because the majority of killers can't make much use of it, but for the few who can, or are willing to experiment with it, It becomes a vital part of their builds.

    Alert.

Anyone who has played survivor knows how crucial it is to know the killers whereabouts at all times. This perk doesn't give you that, but does inform you every time of their whereabouts whenever they kick a gen or break a pallet, and that information gives you a staggering advantage even against stealth killers. Most people think this perk is gimmicky for some reason, but I protest by saying that it's Meta quality due to the information it provides.

I agree with you on dying light, on certain killers it dominates. Alert is a nice little indicator of where the killer is, so I agree on that as well. remember old dying light? I remember I used to run black box on Freddy along with dying light and remember me. That was my favourite thing to do with Freddy.

Pharmacy is a pretty good self care replacement. One thing I noticed after self care got nerfed was that 1 heal is usually all you need during a match, which is why brown medkits are my favorite item. Also I run vault build so even when I'm injured I at least get the resilience buff.

I use pharmacy more then self care, because self care has bored me and having a green medkit always helps so I agree.

We don’t hate the rework. They did an excellent job. But speaking for myself I desperately miss old Freddy.

Ds and unbrekable are not Op. You can counter DS with slugging. You can only use unbreakable once as well. They are not overpowered because they synergize well with each other. DS is often overestimated to the point where you'd think it forced killers to crash the second it was used. Unbreakable can be a bit of a risk to use as well since if the killer does not slug, it has literally no use.

DS rewards the survivor for being hooked. Slugging can waste a killers time if they don't need to slug, and DS is very OP in the endgame. The killer deserved to down the survivor, only to be striked. Unbreakable isn't as offensive as DS but it is still a crutch, because unbreakable metaphorically creates another survivor, see space coconuts videos for a more in depth explanation.

  • @SadLegion said:

    Kindred

Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES. I agree. Kindred provides vital information to your team, along with who the killer is. I don't see enough people running this amazing perk. It is also in my opinion, the most balanced, the least offensive and least toxic perk in the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/157088/a-question-about-rank

I would say you are slightly above the average killers at the game. So no you are not a bad killer, it is probably that you are still inexperienced at the game. I think the problem you have is that you don’t get fast down and lack attention of the gens around the map.

As a killer it is simply impossible for you to control all the gens around the map. However, you can force the survivor team to do gens far away, so that they can 3 gen themselves. Every map has a layout on how far/close gens will be. So by knowing the gens that are the furthest away, you should allow the survivors to do. Otherwise you will be stuck in a situation where you will have no control over the gens.

Playing as killer is very stressful mainly because you are playing against 4 people by yourself. If you find yourself stuck at the rank you might need to either improve on your gameplay such as trying new builds, other killers or watching gameplay of people like Otz.

Thank you, I am going to try the trapper, and I am watching Otz for tips on him, I have always watched otz anyways.

Ranking just sucks right now, you have to wait for the new matchmaking systems.4

Like even rank reset let me fight other survivors. Before rank reset i was rank 8, i only fight red ranks. After rank reset i still fight red rank.

As you can see ranks doesnt matter

Yeah, in one of my killer matches I was put against a rank 20, and all the other survivors were red ranks and of course the only one to die was one of the red ranks and the rank 20. It must feel bad as a rank 20 to not be facing white or lower green rank killers.

The game is in a state of unbalance - ermh let me rephrase.

The game has been in a state of unbalance since release and has fluctuated between many questionable choices. Ranking doesn't work half the time and people are being matches with everyone.

My point is don't let DBDs ranking system determine your "skill" as DBD ranking system doesn't understand what the word means.

Thank you, I though since I don't get rank 1 every season means something is quite wrong. This comment really helped, thank you!

  • @Boss said:

    Lithe & Make Your Choice.

I agree, lithe is the only exhaustion perk I use on survivor, with sprint burst most of the time you have to walk around the map and balanced landing is quite situational. Make your choice is a very good perk with borrowed time existing and prevents tunneling. As a Freddy main, I run it on him all the time.

  • The problem with crossplay, (as a almost 3 year ps4 player) is that PC gets so many unfair advantages, like modified game settings, stretched resolution, good fps, and mouse and keyboard. I do know that ps4 players can use mouse and keyboard, but the thing is that pc players have so much better fps. Ps4 and console have constant fps drops, controller, lower fps, no good settings, and so much more.

  • @PayneKiller said:

I think the Legion is overrated.People think he is around mid tier, but for example: even if he gives mending to all 4 survivors(in really rare scenario) he must go to the one of them and just eat pallets, because his power can't do anything to injured survivor, meanwhile other 3 survivors just doing gens injured. You could say, you can mindgame them, but its on me,not on the killer, I can mindgame with clown too but its doesn't make clown even B tier killer. And last word about people who showing screenshots with 4k on red ranks as legion. You could play vs 200 hours red rank survivor and win them easily, but you could play vs 2000 hours survivor main on red ranks and suck a big cucumber, do you feel difference? Even if the player has 3000 hours in game and he loses to you, he can just play killer 95% of the time and beeing not good as survivor.

You just said everything that I wanted to say about legion. He is a low tier killer to me.

  • @DBD78 said:

As you see in this thread you can make a case for all killers. The same when we talk about underrated killers, you can make a case for all of them being better than people think. So what is the truth? The truth is no killer is OP but all can be very good in the right hands.

I completely agree, even old Freddy was an amazing killer in the right hands. In my hands with the pill box addon and class photo he was an A tier killer who can apply so much map pressure. Now he is even better.

  • @SpaceCoconut said:

Myers isn't as great as everyone says he is.

Alright, I am a prestige 3 Myers, him and Freddy are my 2 favourite killers so I am obviously biased, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have to admit, dedicated servers destroyed him and he was terrible. However he was recently fixed and he is now back to normal. Also, I don't think much people like Myers anymore, I think only TydeTyme liked him, but now he doesn't. He has some of the best addon combinations in the game, like tombstone piece and his stalk speed addon. Bamboozle can help him a lot with windows, since he can go through them way faster. Of course you have to run monitor and abuse because of his terror radius. He is pretty bad at tier 1 if a survivor spots him, but if you run the dead rabbit addon he can have an almost non existent terror radius in tier 2. So in tier 2 he has base speed base lunge and has no terror radius (almost). All in all I think he is a lower tier killer, but I love playing him. Myers is the killer I want reworked or buffed the most.

    Nurse.

I see people say she's the strongest/best but I've come across maybe a handful that were a challenge. Maybe it's because I'm on PS4. She's one killer I've never had a problem running for 5 gens and have escaped from the most. If I'm downed it's from my own mistakes like I ran into a dead end or got stuck on a corner or didn't realize my controller was low battery and it died.

I am on ps4 as well, nurses get stomped on ps4.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Plus one to Nurse being overrated. I need to face more god Nurses before I start ranking her higher. My tougher games seem to be Freddy and Spirit.

Same here, there are BARELY any good nurses in high ranks now.

  • @MegMain98 said:

    Billy and Freddy.

Billy is a good killer don’t get me wrong, but people place him way too high on tier lists. His instadown can be denied by survivors correctly running tiles and a lot of Billy players are way too amphibious on their curves and waste time bumping into objects. Oni is better than Billy IMO.

Freddy is also a good killer but is he top tier? No. He’s like #6 or #7 to me personally. The reason he is played frequently is because he’s the easiest killer in the game to use with good results. Basically a low stress killer that you can turn your brain off and not think.

I also don’t see why Doctor is highly talking about like he is an A tier. He’s WAY better than before but you’ll still get stomped by good teams. He’s designed to be an annoyance, nothing more.

I agree with you on Billy, he can bump into objects too much and 360 can counter his chainsaw pretty easily, and oni is better than him. Freddy may be easy to play but he is hard to master. Freddy is very good because he has clowns power which is very good in chase and he can teleport to gens which gives him map pressure. His addons are very good as well, like the pill box which if you run it with monitor and abuse can help you sneak up to people. The black box can be used with the jump rope to help decrease gen speeds and keep the obsession permanently in the dream world. Doctor still is a mid tier killer and can be easily countered.

  • @Blueberry said:

Hag is one of the most overrated killers imo. Very easily shut down by survivors that know what they're doing. She is one of the hardest noob stompers though.

Not saying she's bad, she's quite good, just overrated on most tier lists and opinions. Imo.

I don't think she is easily shut down by survivors, because you can put traps in unexpected places, watch space coconut. Also she used to be underrated as hell. However she is overrated on most tier lists, she doesn't belong in S tier.

    Spirit.

I don't mind playing against her. She's a hightier Killer but not a beast.

I agree, she can still be looped and you can hear her footsteps. I think she is boring to play as but very fun to play against.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Hillbilly. If you have to rely on an instant-down, then you are not a good killer. I don't give two flying fornications about "positioning" or any of those garbage excuses. You already have mobility and destruction in a button press, with no real cooldown. You don't need an instant-down on top of that.

Freddy is only as good as you let him be. Unless they hide the snares really well, he's just a basic killer who can occasionally teleport to a generator.

The Legion are actually really good killers, if you aren't desperate for 4 skulls at the end of a match. They are balanced around the emblem system and can easily rank you up with a massive amount of BP gain.

Doctor's designed to be annoying. He also has one real strength, and that's tracking. If you can loop effectively without relying on pallets or windows, he's really easy to beat. Lockers also just cancel Static Blast. Just jump in one of them if you hear the wind up. It's not that hard.

Hag should have the proximity to hook penalty applied to her if her traps are also close to a survivor. You may as well be considered a full-on camper if you place a trap within 10m of a hooked survivor.

I think hillbilly is fine as he is right now. The thing about Freddy is that if they go around the snares, they aren't rounding corners, so the killer can actually still get to the survivor fast. I agree with you on the doctor, when I play survivor I don't actually find him annoying. I think that hag is fine and not a camper if they put a trap next to a hooked survivor, but I see these dumb hags that put like 4 traps and that is camping.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

My vote is The Nurse above all else.

Nurse isn't in a good spot right now and even playing against one of the legendary "Good" Nurses I still juked her for over 2 mins straight for 3 gens without giving her a single hit simply because you can outrun her blink distance due to the recharge.

Mind you most nurses can only hit me once before I juke them for all 5 gens so the one above was well into the "Good" range.

I agree, I think nurse is still the best killer in the game but not by a long shot anymore, spirit, Billy, Oni and freddy are close. Also in my opinion she is the least fun killer to play.

Definitely on demo because he has portals to travel between exit gates, idk about clown because I never really like him but try it out, blood warden is pretty much a universal perk and can be used on all killers.
