Case A is the obviously malicious as in, they were slugging since the start. The killer had chances to pickup before that survivor got to the point where they can leave. If they didn't have chances to pick up it falls under case B, which isn't malicious.
In a similar vein to A, you've left the slug for long enough already that they could surrender. If the freshly downed survivor hasn't been slugged, your free to go get that 4k when the survivor is in font of you. Your just on a timer.
The scenario in question is two survivors remaining and give the down 3rd survivor the ability to abandon without a bot. There wasn't a suggestion of a timer or condition other than being in the dying state. So Case A cannot validate if the killer will pickup or not because it doesn't provide that opportunity to them. The survivor can instant abandon without leaving a bot removing the ability for the killer to hook and hunt down the 4th before the hatch can spawn.

I don’t think anyone anticipating getting a pallet save is about to hit abandon if their teammate is going for it. If someone is on the ground you can see where everyone else is.
The example was earily on in the match that scenario would drain the bleedout bar past the 3/4 mark. Later in the match that survivor is one of two remaining and is down by the killer. Because the bleedout bar was already 1/4 drained they would be able to instant abandon without a bot.

The way we see it, nope. Case A: Malicious slugging, Case B: survivors have a bunch of torches or the slug is under a pallet with others around, Case C: you've lost a slug. Only case B is one we're we see it setting a bad example. That said, we're open to a different amount as long as it sounds reasonable so as you said to the general, everyone just need to agree on what a reasonable time is.
Case A: How do you know if it's malicious if you don't give the killer the chance to pick up? Reminder we are talking about giving the 2nd to last survivor the ability to abandon and leave no AI Bot behind.
Case C: Same as Case A in my opinion. You are basically saying a 4K is impossible even if both survivors are within striking distance of eachother.

The only way gen defense isn't a requirement is if the survivors you go against are so bad that they can't even last like 20 seconds in a chase. It's simple math, if you go against decent survivors who know how to even remotely loop, without gen defense you WILL lose.
If that's true for you then thats the case. Not for me though.

Actually you can leave them slugged under the pallet.
We're not on the ptb so we're not 100% sure if this works as we think it does so if it doesn't please correct us. Let's say flashlight squad with the perk. The perk sounds like it works like clean break where you finish a heal and it can activate (with some slight conditions). So A goes down, you chase B, C gets the heal. You down A again and chase C. C goes down but B got A up again. That's already 2 prepared to get a save from the dirt. You can imagine where it goes from there. It's not going to be common, but it's likely going to be used by wannabe bullies this way.
Of course, that's if it works as we think it does.
- Instantly recover from the Dying State.
- Broken Status Effect after recovery.
- Causes you to automatically re-enter the Dying State after 20/25/30 seconds.
The example situation where picking up the survivor is a lose/lose with both perks but conviction has this nasty drawback which makes it hard to repeatly do.

Changing a nerf into a huge buff.
What I see happening, if BHVR does change it, will be Franklins removes 1/2/3 charges with each hit.

That is.. innately how the game is balanced yes. The killer is always stronger. As blatantly shown by the kill-rates currently. In the "ideal" scenario there should always be 2 people escaping, every single match should have 2 people escaping. That would prove the game is balanced in an ideal way, because 50% winrate is the objectively correct way to balance, and BHVR has made it very clear that killrate is a killers win-rate, and survivor's winrate is based on escapes. So 2 escapes in every game and 2 kills in every game means the game is balanced. Just because this is an asymmetrical game doesn't mean it is any different from every other team based pvp game.
No, an objective outcome would not be 2 out every match. Even when flipping a coin a 50/50 isn't always the outcome. It becomes 50/50 statisically over many many coin flips. In DBD you cannot have 50/50 because the sides are not equal throughout the whole match.
The Killer role is stronger than an individule survivor. The game is balanced with a 1v4 as it's base. As the match progress that balance is offset by how close the survivors get to the exit gate. That is why getting to a 3v1 faster benefits the killer. If four survivors are left by the last gen, the odds of at least 2 or 3 getting out become much higher. It is usually due to hubris and greed that kills 4 when a 3 out were possible.
-
You can be in the same situation if the survivor had Power Struggle.

Dreadge when he teleports to locker theres much louder noice (and if he stays theres visual indicator) than springtraps doors and indicators cant bee usefull if doors arent clouse to you to watch it and it dont just tells you he is coming it means someone is using doors killer or survivor.
If he stays there yes. But teleporting doesn't make an external sound. At least to my knowledge. When exiting of course there's a sound but no warning that it is there.

No, its not the "natural outcome". 40/60 is forced, if it wasn't every single game would be a 4k for the killer and survivors would never find matches once they got too good.
that's... a point of view alright. So in your opinion, an equal matching of killer and survivors the killer would always win?

Ok, is the Blight implied to be good because they were full aura?

no haste doesn’t effect vault speed
oh, then would this be a true fix then? If vaulting in power no longer takes away your perk benefit?
-
I can have survivors at 100% escape because I adept and never played them again. If I had bad rounds before escaping it would probably be in the teens.
-
Believe those are intentional for Deathslinger. Not due to some jank.
-
I believe the Springtrap doors have indicators to alert survivors he's coming. Lockers have no such alerts. This means every locker becomes sus until you know what the killer is.
-
Only when the offering is used.
-
Faster looting for event items?
-
I don't think you can change the interact button seperately for vaults vs lockers on k&m. They are both bound to space.

pretty much if you use legions frenzy to vault a window you will not get the haste from unbound
You have to ACTUALLY vault the window regularly to get the haste now
That would be what the change does. My question is does Legion actually have an actualy and messured faster vault with the perk today?
-
40/60 is not being enforce, it's the natural outcome given the state of the game as a whole.
To say its enforce implies the system is curating who wins and who loses before a match is even played.

Thing is at this state game cant be played without gen deffence (both regression like pain res,pop or slowdown like dead lock, grim embrace). Yes you can play it but you need solid killer with some build and addons that work togeather and make your chases and slugs fast so you buy yourself time and get survivors off the gens but good team that can loop and mostly knows how to do gens fast will still be able to do gens and rush you all you need is one longer chase and you done. Then there comes killer tactics like tunneling and slugging that are very effective and they hinder survivors more even if you had fast chases and spread hooks. One good proxy camp to slugg savior and then tunnel can win you game more than fast chases without gen deffence.
I disagree with that assessment. I don't believe at all that gen regression is required even your alternative example of proxy camping.

To be fair, my friend, if only survivors 3 and 4 are left, and you down survivor 3, there is really no reason to leave them on the ground unless you see survivor 4 right away.
If the timer starts as soon as you down survivor 3, there should still be enough time to down survivor 4 if you see them. And, if you don't see them, you can't just keep slugging for the 4k until survivor 3 dies.
That seems reasonable, I would say, but we would still need to determine the specifics of the timer.
Yes, we would need to agree on a reasonable timer.
-
@GeneralV said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3960881#Comment_3960881
Good point, my friend.
How much time do you think would be enough?
if there is to be a timer then it needs to start at down with the condition that two survivors are left.
I'm not certain what that time should be because of legit reasons to the survivor being left on the floor.
In the OP example we could say the proxy of the killer could be used but that wouldn't work if the killer backs away or goes hunting for the 4th.
How about the situations where the 4th survivor is in view. This is where my criticism comes in for the original suggestion. Should the killer be forced to pick up the 3rd and allow the 4th to go hide?
If there is to be any option for the 3rd to leave forcing the hatch race then it needs to be fair in the course of a normal game and not an edge BM scenario.

I agree with @Rulebreaker here, 1/4th of the bleed out bar gone and you can leave.
So you have to leave someone on the floor during the match due to pallet save risk or flashlight and they end up being the 2nd to last. Its completely fine they pop out of existence the moment they hit the floor?
No, I disagree.
-
@Rulebreaker said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3960851#Comment_3960851
We'd vote if 1/4th the bleed out bar is gone. Doesn't need to be consecutive.
You don't see how that would be a poor standard?
-
@CrypticGirl said:
I know it's not reportable, and not sure if it should be, but I do agree that one should be able to abandon in that situation. Preferably without leaving a bot so that the last person can try for hatch.
@GeneralV said:
Not sure if it needs to be reportable, but you should be able to abandon by this point. Ideally without leaving a bot behind, to give your teammate a chance to find hatch.
How long should they be on the floor before the killer gets a botless DC? The moment they hit the floor or after two minutes bleeding out?
Seeing how some survivors purposely run into the killer just to get the abandon button to appear, I like to know where the threshold lies.
-
Throughout my many years around this game I've seen many definitions of tunneling. Many here are giving examples of someone unhooked first, but there is a definition of tunneling where the survivor was never hooked. The first survivor found is chased non-stop until finally down or escapes. Ignoring all other survivors even when they are within hitting range. This was seen more when maps had abundance of pallets and gens could be completed in 5 minutes. Many would say the killer was tunneling that survivor.
To modern day examples you can find survivors say they are being tunneled even when two other survivors were unhooked. Reason doesn't have a place when it comes to DBD.
-
It's been a little while since she's gotten her out of left field buffs and I don't see her talked about much or even see her anywhere near as much as I used to.
You mean there hasn't been a big push to nerf her lately? Other killers have dominated that space lately. You can only be outrage for so many things.
-
Server validation only favors the killer. - people on this form.
Your hit was rolled back by the server. The blood splat is locally triggered so that's why you still see it but the servers say no hit detected.
Event triggers only occur every two of hooks or gen pops. So it's very unlikely you hit a survivor right as a gen pop, the event affect was to heal, and you not notice the event sound notification.
-
So, every Huntress just downs you and stares?
And its just Huntress?
-
- Fixed an issue where using a Killer power to vault would trigger the Unbound perk.
So what they changed was the vaulting speed boost. As I don't use Unbound, does it actually speed up the vault animation or just consume the charge when using a killer power?

Slowdowns and refresdion perks got heavy nerfs like year or two ago but they are still best thing that buys you precious time, thats why everybody runs them plus some good info or endgame.
the problem is they are still used. When survivors call for nerfs they are calling for it to be useless.

I swear killers who camp/tunnel/slug think they'll burst into flames if they make good faith arguments.
For very obvious reasons that I shouldn't have to state. If the killer isn't camping, then they're not camping. If my argument is "being camped isn't fun" then in what universe is "what if the killer isn't camping?" a counter argument? You might as well asked what the killer's favorite flower is for how relevant it is to this discussion.
Secondly. People complain about these things because it's not fun. Entity forbid people want to have fun playing a video game.
Third. I'm not a game developer and I don't need to have a plan to rework the core gameplay of Dead By Daylight to have a discussion about how the way certain people play makes the game a worse experience.
Lastly. A Dev replied confirming that anti-face camp doesn't prevent camping and somehow killer mains still find a way to argue it does.
Are replying to the wrong message because I've never made that argument??
Where am I saying camping is fun? I'm asking you what could be done of it. What could solve the issue that you have with this game element? How can we stop camping from even happening? How do you force the killer not only to leave but not return?
As for making bad faith arguments. Why are we saying the system didn't work? The survivor in this example has the option to unhook themselves active. Thus the system is providing a means of self escape. Yes, the optimal time to unhook is right before the next stage, but why does that matter here? Even if it did, the survivor clearly has that choice on the timing.

for what purpose was the engine updated if i might ask? just general improvements (like code structure/stability) or to make it be able to handle more stuff (like heavy effects/textures or heavy loads of code being pushed through)
BHVR has been keeping up with Unreal engine updates so they don't fall too far behind and have to do a major overhaul later. There doesn't need to be a target feature.

"The survivors can just go back for it at their leisure" you do realize that's wasting time, right? Running across the map for an item instead of just doing gens?
How much time is wasted continuing picking up the same item and not using it?

Downloading a game fresh is different from patching an existing installation. Your download speed seems to be alright considering your Hitman example. What storage media do you have DBD on?

People should have the ability to DC but that doesn't mean that disconnecting shouldn't be discouraged either. Sometimes life happens and you need to get off the computer or the console and that is all fine but if that is what happens then surely the DC penalty doesn't matter then right? Cause it isn't like you are going to be coming back to the game soon anyway?
All getting rid of the DC penalty would do is enable people to basically shop for their preferred matches. Ones where they are going against a preferred killer or on a preferred map, etc. and that just isn't a healthy thing for the game. When life happens I'm not taking time to hit escape and clicking leave match. I'm rushing to take care of what happened and come back later to AFK crows or an end screen.
-
You seem new to the game and just haven't had the experience to understand aspects of perks, addons, or killer's powers. I watched your video with the Myers that could see you through a bush.
Take note,
Bushes are not good hiding spaces.
This killer did not have it but there is a perk called BBQ and Chili that after hooking a survivor briefly shows aura of all survivors outside of 40 meters from the hook.
Meg is the loudest survivor when not injured. She has very heavy breathing and can be heard easily. You were injured and if the killer were to walk near you they could easily find you.
After every match, hover over the killer's perks and addons. The Myer's you said can see you like they had wall hacks is because they do. Not hacks but the addon Scratch Mirror.
By learning what perks the killer used will help you when facing them in the future.

You can't hold a 3 gen for long, though. The 8 regression events start adding up quickly. Your only hope is to snowball, really.
If I'm doing a 3 gen, I'm not looking for a war of attrition lasting 15 minutes. I'm looking to force survivors into a reduce area limiting their options.

What will be done for the survivors in a full pre-made team purposly using this re-work in their advantage to gen rush?
Since people in a squad will have real time comms such as texting, voice chat.
Killer cant counter play that even if they try only meta ability ones can which makes the game fully one sided choice.
Do enlighten me what do you guys in the team have planned for people who are using that for their advantage? Would prefer if my questions are not ignored since all the devs seem to be the same and dont really give an answer to what can be done to make SWFs become equal footing to casual players randoms?
Already caught one person on forum stating their games are unbearable with randoms which apperently means that they refuse to play the game because they simply cant properly play the game unless they use texting or vc for their advantage.
No perk in game can counter real time comms between swfs.
How are SWFs taking advantage? The progress is slowed when other survivors are near. As long as you are not standing in front of the hook that survivor is going stage 2 when another survivor is around. You are also talking like this is a new system. It's been around for quite some time and SWFs don't abuse it. In reality, if survivors swarm the hook it benefits you the killer if you play it right.
-
You won't find help here. Contact Steam support.
-
The first chase could set the tone for the match but it's not the only factor in which direction the match will take. Even the best survivors can get caught off guard for an easy hook. Doesn't mean the next two will be just as easy.
Because 3 gens pop, doesn't mean a strong 3 gen is impossible.
