And why did survivors complain about it? Because it took zero skill to do
Scamper, the ability to go under a pallet? I mean, how much skill do you want to go under a pallet?

The problem is that I'm doing all of those 8 million for one perk
I already have Claudette and Orela at p3, that was 6 million for six perks.
Even if you consider that I only wanted three of those perks, that's still 2 million per perk forever on all characters instead of 8 million to get one perk on eight characters individually
for being general perks that everyone has access too, they are vastly inefficient to obtain. Even if you have every other survivor at p1 only, the general perks take 50% more upgrades to get to tier 3.
Besides, something being worse in the past does not mean it is not bad now. Improvements does not mean more improvements shouldn't be done.
Are you doing it for one perk or to unlock that survivors perks? I mean if you are just looking to play that survivor you still need to get to P0-15 to unlock the perk slots. Some investment is required.
The way I see it, you have two survivors at P3 but if you want more than just tier 1 of the other survivors perks you will need toburn more bloodwebs just to unlock them on one character. It is better in the long run to level every survivor you want perks from to P3. That way when a new survivor comes out you want, you can just pour 1 mil to have everything unlocked. 1 mil really isn't that much even for someone that plays sparingly.
I guess the disconnect is you are not looking at the game long term. Which is fine, not everybody is going to play DBD for years. But BP needs to be used for something. A game that gives everything up front wouldn't last 9 years.
-
MMR is dynamic so it should self adjust over time. If they did reset it, it would be a disaster.
-
It's definitely a bully perk but it only has one activation. I'm sure we will see a lot of it for a few weeks to make those montage videos. But it won't replace other perks that can be used over and over.

True and funniest and biggest paradox is that they kept nerfing chucky to the ground while blight sit untouched and I believe he had his reworked addons that were still strong (first chucky version needed some changes, some nerfs then they nerf it to 110 killer with fast dash cooldown from 18 seconds to 10 and they kept him nerfing and were surprised many players stoped playing him and there were some tweaks from survivors when they played against chucky or xeno). Only thing is blight was always golden child of dbd and he kept most op addons for years without rework when some killer addons were nerfed straight up few months after, when bubba got charge rework bhvr would most likely delety billy from dbd history but players liked him so then came famos overheat buff. Not all killers are treated with same equality some are hated by devs through years like pig and billy others come op as hell and get small changes after many years (blight, nurse).
It happens because its a new chapter, everyone is playing them, survivors are sick of seeing the same killer over and over, and everyone complains about it.
Unless it's clear game breaking, there should be no changes until the next chapter to avoid knee jerk nerfs.

If there was even a hint that a survivor perk would do the equivalent to franklins, people would burn these forums to the ground.
Even the tamest version, which would be something like "puts the killers power on cooldown when hitting a survivor" would make people lose their minds.
Let alone "go back and pick it up so you can use it at all", or even "just go drop it in the corner to play around the perk, duh".
These are already limited use items, many with just one use at all without some heavy investment.
I don't know how you can equate those two. A killer's power vers a toolbox. Then add to that times four? How are you making this leap?

Who would it hurt? The game as a whole. The community as a whole. If there's one thing this community has proven, it's that people are VERY good at finding ways to abuse things, even if you or I can't see how abandoning when exit gates are powered could be abusable right now.
Second, people keep asking for more and more situations in which the abandon option should become available (like this thread proves). As has been said multiple times, the line has to be drawn somewhere. If for whatever reason the devs did this, how many more abandon conditions will people demand?
I'm curious how it could be abused. I'd imagine if it meant the game ended right there and straight to title screen? Lets say that's the case. As long as all alive survivors get escape BP and any credit for escaping like achievements or challege, where is the harm?
But to take it a bit further, the killer gets replaced by a bot and survivors have free ability to leave or search out items or hatch. I can't see that becoming abusive from the killer end. Unless the AI is turned up to 11 or something.

Not to be rude, but you quite literally described the issue I have as if it was the solution.
A prestige level is about 1mil bloodpoints. Even if 1 prestige each is enough, I need 8 mil total. But each one I prestige makes the others harder. And that's all to effectively just use them as skins
How is it making it harder? If P1 is the goal, then yes it gets harder if you plan on using that character outside of unlocking perks for your main.
If you want full perks then P3 must be the goal for all charaters to save time later. That way every new character you get will have every perk by P1. In fact, characters have full perks in the P0-40s.
Maybe it's because of my experience with this game, but I find 8 million not to be a large amount or even a big ask with how easy it is to get now. All perks before this system, used to take 8 million just for one character. And the amount required increased with each chapter because 9 more perk levels per character. It was a hell of a grind.

What your looking for and what we're looking for are two different looking fors. What is available on one side currently IS available on the other. What can you do when all survivors are bots? Abandon. We're like 97% sure the line was drawn at killers purposely bleeding survivors. The avenues were said and unfortunately the devs choose this one.
When the gates are opened, even if the killer could do something, they should still be given the option.
So we got a genuine question. How is the gates being open the same as the 4 people on the dirt?
Give killers the abandon button at gate open.
No. We hope they don't and give something else. Demanding something from us is also not going to be productive.
I do believe we are just going in circles. I was writing something but it's just the same thing as before. I'm just going to table this.
-
Most tweaks given to Chucky was because survivors complained about it.
Scamper never felt like a free hit to me but people cried it was. Most of the time survivors made it around before I could get under the pallet.

The abandon was only given to Survivors because they have no options when they're slugged. Killers do have options, they just refuse to use them.
Like I've said earlier, the solution went beyond the problem.

There were various solutions put forward for that. The solution we got to that was this. Theres solutions that can be put forward for the BM at gates or survivors hiding (which if we remember correctly the devs are working on) when the doors are open or whatever. Of which one could be abandoning but there's potentially other options that can be put forward. We want something else preferably something to punish people lingering around safety.
I'm not looking for punishment. I'm not looking to deny anyone their bloodpoints or achievements. I want what is available on one side to be the same on the other. The line wasn't drawn when the killer BMs. It was drawn where survivors felt it was over, even if other avenues could exists. When the gates are opened, even if the killer could do something, they should still be given the option.
Give killers the abandon button at gate open.

That's not a matching line. The line started when killers kept people slugged for minutes at a time. This line is out of inconvenience. The first line was at unavoidable BM unless you take a punishment. This line is trying to get drawn despite being avoidable. These are very different lines.
As killer do you want to play against people or bots? As survivor do you want to play against a player or bot? But ya know what, we don't particularly care anymore. We said our pieces. You keep going. It's unlikely your going to be swayed by anything said and your definitely not swaying us.
Killer's slugging to bleed out may of been the catalyst but not the solution put forward. Thus the line was not drawn where the issue was.

Throughout this thread we jump between 'killer should be able to abandon when the doors are open' and 'survivors in gate bagging'.
Except they are very different things. Just because the gates are open does not mean all the survivors are there and are safe. Survivors in the gate bagging probably are safe, but as discussed, survivors could just move slightly and now BHVR has to decide on where to draw the line for 'safe' and 'game is still going on'.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3964456#Comment_3964456
If survivors did have agency to get back up that isn't taken into account.Out of curiosity
If BHVR changed it so that if any survivor had unbreakable or another perk that can get them up, the abandon option wouldn't appear, would you change your opinion? Because otherwise this feels like a red herring.
Yes it would but not completely. Since there already was a thread on this topic, I won't go into another reply chain but just state my opinion on that. If they gave the killer the opportunity to hook or survivors to pull an ace before giving the abandon button, I will change my mind on this topic.
But as it stands now, fair is fair.

Thats not why the abandon feature was added.
The abandon feature was added because survivors have lost all basic control over their gameplay. They cant progress generators, cant open a gate, cant save one another, cant pick themselves back up, and are restricted to crawling around waiting for someone but noone can save them.
IThere is no Likely argument here. Its over. Real gameplay has halted.
Incomparably, the exit gates being powered. You still have full control over your character, you dont know where survivors are, you and them can STILL make mistakes.
Real gameplay still exists. You just dont feel like playing it.
You dont get to give up during a match because you feel like something is over.
If you do want to compare something to that logic, okay
Thats the exact same logic that was used by every survivor giving up on hook. "The match is likely over"
You want that back?
So no a 4 slug and the gates being powered are not the same. The system that was put in place assumes your premise without knowing it to be true. If survivors did have agency to get back up that isn't taken into account. Because of that, you cannot take into account what the killer could do when faced with similar situation where the game can be over with doors open.
Also, it's not when they are powered but opened. Not asking for the button to appear after 5 gens are done but for the means to escape are available.

Where the killer wasn't able to kill anyone and the survivors feels safe, especially a M1 killer with no means to insta down. But why should the killer have to go through that? Why can't they have the opportunity to just throw up their hands and concede? Are we talking about a purely hypothetical situation where we can just put it into the game, or are we discussing the ramifications BHVR would likely be worried about with implementing such a system?
Some are bring up hypotheticals as reasons why killers should have to stay until all survivors escape. My argument has been that doesn't matter. What options may or may not exists once the gates are opened, the killer should have the option to concede (abandon).
Yes, some see this as a slippery slope but don't realize we are already sliding.

The Ifs are the point of the game. For example IF you catch a survivor early then you can potentially snowball. IF the survivors make a good play then they can turn a game around like in Chuckingwong's post. If people have the option to quit then they can repeatedly use it
A line has been drawn, now people are going to keep trying to move it. A view of the bad standard is drawn, but it can keep moving. Where's the stop sign? Over the cliff?
If the means of escape are available and the killer no longer feels the need to proceed, then why not give an option to leave?
We've said why. You may not like what we said, but we told ya. And unlike the survivor version, it's not even about the possibility of holding people semi hostage.
What is being asked is not moving the line but matching it. If the exits open and the killer sees opportunity to get another kill, they are still free to pursue it.
What is the fear of? The game doesn't need to end just like when survivors abandon. A simple AI can stay behind to play tag.

Even if Survivors can be arses, they're far more likely to be punished for it than BMing Killers. Check out these examples. How hard do you think these Killers were laughing?
Assuming both are killers getting the best of BMing survivors. I can't check them right now.
But why does that matter here? Because something could happen doesn't mean it will, right? The standard doesn't take into account probability or a wait and see approach.
The game is at an end and even if avenues exist to prolong it, the opportunity to exit gracefully become available. Give killers that option.
-
@Rulebreaker said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3964348#Comment_3964348
We're well aware survivors can be arses. It's just we don't really believe the average survivors are quite dumb enough to run out to a practically unreasonable area to hide and BM the killer. Then staying near the exit is more reasonable, but then their relatively easy to find and either push or punish.
I haven't read the last person who brought that up to see how reasonable it was, but the time wasted in these instances are not minor. When you walk up to an empty gate do you think the survivor is hiding or that they're at the other gate? It doesn't become reasonable to think they are hiding until you visit and check both gates. Then you have to waste more time searching the areas around both gates. Maybe you get lucky just for them to exit before you can catch up.
This is usually done with a four out. Where the killer wasn't able to kill anyone and the survivors feels safe, especially a M1 killer with no means to insta down.
But why should the killer have to go through that? Why can't they have the opportunity to just throw up their hands and concede?
They can keep a bot killer in their place who can then chase survivors out. Same thing, right?

The difference comes in points:
- The game hasn't ended since we don't know where everyone is or what could happen. Ik one of us purposely opens the door as pig when there's an active trap on hook. There's a whole endgame to play out. Yes we get it optional but it brings to the next point.
- If it end up like how survivors use it very few are actually going to cross the escape threshold. Just like how people rately mori an actual player in the end, just a bot. Anticlimactic ends all round.
- Sets a bad standard. This one is about more personal than the others so feel free to disregard it but it kills the motivation to keep going and actually play the endgame. When people have a option to quit many take it as the current abandon feature shows. It's then going to spread out to the next "time waster" or something. The lines need drawn somewhere.
Still bring up what ifs like it matters anymore. If a Pig opens a door why would she then abandon? The ask is for a choice not a manditory end.

While more reasonable than the other one, still not once just to kill time and not quite the "impossible to find" we're lead to believe.
I don't believe the survivor's motive is wasting the killer's time as much as it is to BM them.

Your telling us that when the doors are open, survivors are just scooting off to a random corner of the map, just to kill time and annoy the killer, and hide is a common occurrence?
Not in the time we've been playing.
Not random corners. Near enough to make it out if found.

I'm going to go with @Rulebreaker on this.
Hiding, when the doors are open just to waste the killers time, I can't recall having ever seen.
I've seen people hide until they have another survivor get to them so they can make it to the doors safely, I've seen them hide until they know where the killer is, I've seen them hide waiting for other survivors to leave so they can get hatch, I've seen them move around the map stealthily doing totems or chests for BP.
But just hiding in the map to waste the killer's time, when the doors are open, and thus creating the risk of getting killed, I can't recall. Not in my matches or any streamer. I'm sure it has happened somewhere, but it seems strange that some people are saying this is a common occurrence and others have never encountered it.
I don't recal ever being slugged out for 4 minutes and the killer refuses to hook us. But I guess it happened enough times to other player for BHVR to add a way out of it.

Unbreakable might be in play maybe in 4% of the matches. Meanwhile, the Killers always has the ability to push Survivors out (or maybe even score an extra kill if any of them eff up). I actually see that scenario more than I see a Survivor with Unbreakable when everyone is slugged. Also in 99% of the cases where a Survivor does have Unbreakable, it doesn't get them very far, so the match is still over.
If that mattered the Devs would of put in a time requirement before abandon can pop up. Instead it was made to be available the moment everyone is slugged regardless if means exist to get back up. Even if the killer can do something shouldn't matter. They should have the option available.
Also in 99% of the cases where a Survivor does have Unbreakable, it doesn't get them very far, so the match is still over.
And 99% of the cases where the survivor is already at the gate they can get out. That 1% only exists if the killer's power can block the exit or the survivor falls away from the threshold. Even then teammates can tank hits and prevent a pickup by healing.

The killer can’t reliably force the survivors out, if the survivors are purposely hiding in random parts of the map.
If they're hiding then the killer hunts them down and potentially gets a kill out of it. When the doors are open, the likely hood of a survivor hiding anywhere but the hatch or in the open door just to tick off the killer is practically nil. None of us have seen it and we been here since 2017.
I don’t know why people keep saying the same strawman argument, that the survivors would always be conveniently waiting at the exit gates, so the killer can easily force them out of the game.
Because in this specific scenario people often argue about survivors t-bagging at the gate. Obviously you need survivors in said gate for this to happen.
When the doors are open, the likely hood of a survivor hiding anywhere but the hatch or in the open door just to tick off the killer is practically nil. None of us have seen it and we been here since 2017.
What you on? I see this all time. Usually in pairs so they can tank a hit if found.

It's not the same thing, so it's treated differently. As the killer, you can open the gate and force EGC. The survivor bleedout timer is longer, and killers can circumvent it by juggling slugged players and prolonging the bleedout. The EGC timer is finite.
Bleedout is finite even if the killer can theoretically extend it. Survivor's have the ability to go into the dying state. Isn't it theoretical they can sit at the exit slugged to extend the time to 4 minutes?
Because killer can doesn't mean killer must. Killer must chase them out or wait 2 minutes. Killer must find them if they are not at the gate. Why? Suck it up you loss so make the rounds? That's not the standard anymore.

If the killer wants to hook them they could have/can. The survivors can abandon only when everyone is slugged/hooked. They got to that point where the option to abandon popped up. Then if the survivors all abandoned the killer can already abandon. They got the option to skip out on hooking bots.
The killer doesn't want to waste time chasing them out the same as survivors don't want to waste time waiting to be hooked.
This shows a point. It's ALL on the killer. If the killer slugs and doesn't pick up, survivors wait 4ish minutes doing nil. If the killer hooks, the survivors save at best a handful of seconds to a minute. If the killer chased them out the killer saves several seconds. The killer doesn't, then there's a timer.
And before anyone touches anything about BMing, in the past if the killer wanted to they could semi force survivors to be subjected to 4ish minutes of BM (they could DC, with penalty). The killer isn't forced to face BM unless they want to speed things along.
Lets talk about the here and now and leave past grievance out of it. Survivor's have the ability to leave if slugged, even if the means of getting back up are pressent.
Killer's just want to leave once the gates are open and not waste time chasing out survivors at the gate or looking for survivors in hiding. What difference does it make at that point to you? The survivors still escape, still receive the BP and victory. Everyone gets to queue up for their next match faster.

If all survivors are slugged they can abandon immediately to save their time not the killers time. The killer still needs to find and hook every one of them to end the match.
Killer's want a similar function when exit gates are open and THEY feel no reason to continue and don't want to walk cross map to force survivors out.
Before, if the killer slugged all the survivors and the killer decided to not pick up the survivors... what could they meaningfully do? Crawl. And crawl. And more crawling. At a snails pace with (usually) no way to progress, no way to gain points (or anything but pittance worth), just to wait till bleed out, DC with a penalty, or for the killer to be bored waiting for the bleed out.
When the doors are open, what can the killer meaningfully do? They can break things, some can repeatedly gain points with their ability, potentially nab a stupid survivor, or force survivors out. And the survivors have no way to really stop em.
It's to save time in case the killer decided to be an arse and forcefully hold the survivors for the whole timer. Key to this is the forcefully bit.
You don't realize the big IF in your response. If the killer leaves them slugged.
What if the killer doesn't leave them slugged? What if the killer wanted to hook them? Then it becomes a question of saving time. Survivors don't want to wait because the game is over in their minds. The same is true for a killer when the exits are open and survivors are butt dancing. The killer doesn't want to waste time chasing them out the same as survivors don't want to waste time waiting to be hooked.

Killer is the power role. Survivor role is designed to lose most of the time, so devs implemented a rage quit mechanic. If you lose as the power role, you take the walk of shame. It's the karma for bullying survivors in your previous matches with OP mechanics.
I guess so
-
It's always been a license issue. The holder before the current owners wanted their own game to compete with DBD.
-
If all survivors are slugged they can abandon immediately to save their time not the killers time. The killer still needs to find and hook every one of them to end the match.
Killer's want a similar function when exit gates are open and THEY feel no reason to continue and don't want to walk cross map to force survivors out.
But killers can't have this because? Because they can walk to both exits to push them out? Because they can wait out a timer? Because they could still catch a survivor?
What if a survivor has an unused unbreakable or other perk that can pick them up? What if a survivor has an offering or perk that allows them to kobe? Are you willing to disable the abandon option for them if even the slightest chance exists to get back up and continue? I expect not. I expecting the response to be, survivors have no chance and should be allowed to abandon.
It's not a false equivalence, give killers the option or stop saying the abandon feature is there to save time.
-
Getting any new survivor/killer to P1 will get you every general perk, which you need to do anyways to unlock the teachable. Only time this is not true is when you don't have the other survivors/killers at P3.
-
What the survivors should do.
-
In an event match there's a heal and insta down card. I don't know if the prompts the expose status or not. If the killer was laggy could explain the hit. Other than that it could be cheats but I would expect them to be sus more than once.
-
Playing the event? Also the killer was chasing you?

Maybe they should start removing awful BP offerings instead.
They can remove a lot of things.
-
If they came up with more than 5 it would start to posion the bloodweb. So more than likely, they just split the addon count between two items keeping the overall addon count the same as before.
-
It was extended because XBOX network issues. Some players didn't even get a chance at the event.
-
I had a scenario where, while playing a low tier Killer that lacks mobility,
You've been lead to believe there are seperate rules for different killers. It doesn't matter if you believe the killer is weak, mid, strong, or OP. If the survivor feels they are wronged the killer is only a factor in escalation.
I was keeping close watch on a hook and nearby gens.
Already "guilty" of camping, why feeling bad about tunneling? In the eyes of the survivor you've already commited a grave sin.
But when I came back to chase the unhooker, the Survivor that just got off hook rather than try to leave when I came for their friend, stood under the hook and waited. Now, I understand this is an invitation to let them leave by killing them, so I took it - because to my knowledge the polite thing to do when someone wants out is give them the out.
They stood there because they have been conditioned to stand there. If you let them go, you're at fault because you came back to the hook. If you kill them you're at fault for being a toxic tunneler.
In the go next mindset the killer is always a toxic POS and anything they do becomes a justifiable reason to not try anymore. You are expected to ignore them standing there. To do otherwise is to plea guilty to ignore is beg forgiveness for being there. They are not expected to run away because why are they being forced to play that way?

Bots know where you are at all times. At loops they will try to keep equal distance from you, even if they can't see you.
The PTB has something new that makes bots make more mistakes when they can't see you.

It's called a hatch game. Hope that you're not the one found first.
