This is the logic you applied here, basicly saying shut up since you won. Which is exactly what he wasn't frustrated about.
The key thing is that the survivors made lots of mistakes in order to get 3 people hooked simulatenously in the basement which the managed to reset, with the aid of 2 super balanced perks.
I still wait for you to put any valid point into the discussion since all I read is that you infact are not a r1 killer, never made it there and believe the graphic to be edited. Why is that dude? It really just adds to the confusion about you at that point since getting r1 killer isn't really that hard anymore. When people say killer got easier they are right but that doesn't change the fact that these perks are stupid on the effect they do have on gameplay. You do not have any trouble with the perks, yet somehow you do not get enough points to rank up i am really confused about it.
No, my logic is that he is lying.

So I’ve been playing survivor a lot recently rather then playing killer like I usually do. I was coming up with some ideas for new builds and was wondering if this was a good one to try out.
Windows of opportunity - For pallets and windows
Bond - For survivors
Visionary - For gens
Open Handed - To increase aura reading range
I wanted an aura specific build that gave me a little bit of everything. If you guys have any better ideas or perks to exchange then let me know. Or just let me know if this build is complete crap.
In my experience there is a surge in the frequency of Stealth Killers. I wish you had Spine Chill in there somewhere, although what you drop for it I wouldn't dare to suggest.

I didn't say anything about the actual reasons as to why people DC. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't pikachu face when people DC even though DC penalties are active.
Fair enough. I made an assumption, and there is an old saying about those. I assumed you were making a statement inferring something about the game itself and what people are unhappy with. :) If we are on the same page, awesome.

You do not even understand the point that he made, maybe try that and responding to it instead of spouting useless insults.
I'm not the guy you responded to but I want to respond.
- I do understand the OP's point; it has no validity.
- The OP is not telling the truth about a lot of things.
- This is just another waste of time thread where people blame their own problems on others or the game.
So let me repeat, I understood the OP's BS point, and I suspect so does everyone else. The fact that we do not agree with it, or call him out on obvious deceptions, doesn't indicate a lack of understanding.

I'd love to seem them try a new punishment for patterns of DC behavior. Instead of banning them, they get routed to a smaller Que made up entirely of people who, you guessed it, have a pattern of DC behavior. It will likely be smaller, slower ques, and infuriating to play in since they will be dealing with other people just like themselves.
On a good note they will have a path to redemption rather than timed ban. They are stuck in that Que (with their own ilk) until they complete a certain number of games (fully played legitimately) without disconnecting. They prove they can be have like adults and they get to come back to the adult que. They lapse again, back they go to DC Que hell.

@lowiq said:
DC Penalties don't fix the core issue as to why people are DCing in the first place.
This is true, but not for the reasons you are thinking. The core issue as to why people are DCing is that they are bad sports, spoiled, or entitled. The DC penalty cannot fix a defective person; it can only try to encourage better behavior. :)
-
The fact that were will always be bad sports and losers is why I would prefer that instead of a Ban they just route people with a pattern of disconnecting into a Que made up entirely of other Players who have a bad habit of disconnecting. Chances are this Que will be smaller, have longer wait times, and be infuriating to play in since they will get disconnected on by others of their ilk.
This method would also give them a chance at redemption. They don't get back to the rest of us until they manage to complete a certain number of games without disconnecting. This would allow them back to the grown-up Que until they revert to bad habits.

Who else agrees with me that the disconnecting ban system is stupid everybody who is a survivor and plays a survivor mainly all the time encounter a lot of face camping tunneling and slugging killers and what's stupid also is the devs of this game think it's okay for Killers to do that I believe it shouldn't be I literally deleted this game off my steam and my PS4 because I will not play a game with a lot of people like that I want to play legitly and have fun and Idisconnect from the game because I don't want to be put up against people and Killers who don't help each other and who slug tunnel etc it's very stupid and I think in my personal opinion the devs should give negative points to Killers who do that and take off the stupid ban system it's bologna I literally made a community on steam and on Facebook and Twitter for this type of thing and thousands of others will agree with me that this game is nothing but garbage at this point I don't care if this post gets taken down I wanted to shout out to everyone I personally don't care what happens to my account on this stupid website because I'm sure all of you can agree with me that this matchmaking ban system and bad Killers who slug tunnel etc are stupid and don't know how to play the game right I am never wasting my money on another dead by daylight thing again I will not waste money on that or on their game until they learn to fix it and listen to the community this game at this point is nothing but garbage and Friday the 13th the game is 10 times better
I DO NOT agree with you and if the ban makes losers who disconnect all the time go away permanently, I won't shed any tears. Seems win/win to me. Either people will take the hint and stop disconnecting, or they will throw a fit like you and hopefully leave in a huff. As far as I'm concerned people who disconnect at the drop of a hat do more harm to the game than good.
-
I've had a massive drop in people DC'ing on me. So I'm happy the penalties are back. I just hope they get more punishing.
-
In my experience the rating a Killer has is in regards to the "learning curve," i.e. how difficult are they to become truly proficient. Some are easier to master than others.

he is slow, he does not have antiloop, he does not pressure, he is the killer that depends more on his add ons without them he is quite bad, you need to waste 1 minute of play to turn him into a normal killer and 3 minutes to make it powerful for a short time .... as the game is currently 2 minutes is enough to make you three generators if you are lucky you can reach his third level 2 times or maybe 3 in one game. even the clown has antiloop. I can't understand why the dlcs are weaker than the killers in the game. top killers are nurse, spirit, billy. oni.
It is an huge offense to all fans of this killer that he is so bad.
Could Myers use a rework? Sure. Worst Killer in the game? Far from it. I play Myers's exclusively until I feel I'm competent. I've reached Rank-4 and I'm hoping that I can hit Rank-1 on or before this Halloween. It is an ambitious goal; I know. For all I know I have hit the ceiling in what I can do with him based on my own ability and his limitations. Even so, I'm going to try. Myers is slow but there are compensations, and if you play into them you can do just fine. He is actually pretty good against a SWF, particularly if they try to cheese the game with an OoO spotter. Since you start in Tier-1 your aura is hidden from them, but you can still see the OoO. It allows you to find the group (or some of them) really fast. The best they get out of it is the Spotter has a watered down kind of Spine Chill based on the HUD.
Myers also snowballs which plays against a SWF really effectively, particularly as they tends to be a bit more altruistic than most. Because he does need a rework, this Build is very important. You have to lean into your personal strengths, whatever those may be. I quantify all Myers builds in the following way:
- Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo): Also known as Jump Scare Myers this guy can't get out of Tier-1 but has the best Wall Hack in the game. For laughs, I like to take Hex: Ruin, Hex: Haunted Ground, PWYF, and Sloppy Butcher with him. If I can I put in a Map Offering. The best maps in my opinion, and in this order, are The Game (Meatplant), Hawkins, Midwich, Lerys, Backwater Swamps, and a surprising Haddonfield. Spooky Myers can actually perform very well on this normally Survivor-sided map. The larger the map, with more open ground, the more difficult things become for Spooky Myers. They are all still winnable, but much harder.
- Defective Myers (Vanity Mirror+Whatever): As you can tell by the name I give him (I give him all sorts of insulting names), I'm not a fan of this guy. He can't get beyond Tier-2 and has a small, ineffective Wall Hack. In short, he is supposed to be a middle ground but the truth is he does nothing well. I've yet to find any maps he shines on, or any Add-ons which make him work. I'm not even going to suggest Builds as I hate them all. This could be my failing personally, but I advise steering clear of this guy.
- Maniac Myers (Any Build which can hit Tier-3): This is your classic, most common, Myers. He has to find you fast, juice up out of Tier-1, 99 his Tier-3 while getting some initial hunting and Generator pressure going, and snowball. There are a lot of good builds for this kind of Myers but my personal favorite is Hex: Undying, Hex: Ruin, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, & Monitor & Abuse (or PWYF). *Dead Rabbit is a particularly good Add-On here and well... there are too many other good ones to count for the other slot. This Myers can function effectively on pretty much any map, large or small. The triple Hex configuration I list above is designed to help me find the Survivors really fast and offset Myer's slow burn. Opinions vary, but it works well for me.
Every Killer Player has to figure out their own style, and more importantly their own weaknesses. If you can't overcome a weakness you have to find some good in it and lean into it. I suck at Looping. I practice all I can, but I'm just terrible at it. :) I'm really good an mind games and making educated guesses about where the Survivors are (or headed). *This failing on my part might be why Defective Myers performs so badly in my hands, and why I do so well with Spooky and Maniac. My point with this long-winded and excessively sharing post is that you shouldn't assume too much about the Killer based on a bad performance without first considering if the issue is yourself. What are YOU bad at? While Myers could certainly need a tune up, he is not at the bottom of the list. I'd put him in the middle myself. I would humbly suggest that you need to figure out where you are failing, and pick/build the Myers that lets you lean better into your strengths or somehow turns your weaknesses into something you can use.

I never once mentioned anything the devs took in this post I simply said the problems I have that made me quit.
But take it as you wish.
Perhaps you have forgotten early on in the thread, this has really dragged out, where you called them amateurs? Opinions vary. And for the record, no I'm not part of the DEV. I'm just saying at this point the goodbye is starting to feel like this:
-
If you need a break, take a break. If you are really here to just vent on what you don't like about the game, just say that is what this thread is about. I'm not trying to be mean here, but this thread is starting to just feel like every other "I'm upset about what you took from me" thread on this Forum. My own rule is if I stop having fun, I move on. I respect that. When I do it though, I simply exit stage left. We all get burnout. I too, will eventually play DbD less (or not at all). But when I do it will because "I" am no longer happy and thus "I" am the problem and thus "I" am taking the appropriate steps.
For what it is worth Azame, I hope you are back one day and we get to play alongside each other in the trenches or with one of us hunting the other down. Good luck, have fun, in whatever matches and games you find until we see you again. Jaa mata.

Easy fix. Make it award BP to the killer. Since this is now a beneficial action for another human I guarantee every toxic troll in this game will still doing it immediately.
The quickest fix to the so-called "Toxic" behavior is for people to quit trying to quantify it. Ignore anyone who uses the word toxic, try to avoid using it yourself, and just play the game. Should people be good sports? Absolutely. Should we have to mechanically apply this? I think T-bagging is unsportsmanlike and rude, but it should not be a punishment or reward for anyone.

Can someone explain to me why i get tunneled and basement camped by a Freddy and I lose rank progression. I even lose progression when i get hook camped and someone tries to save me, then they have noed. Can we have a system where the game detects when you are being hook camped/tunneled and make it so the survivor doesn't lose a tick and the killer gains nothing.
We have all been there. The only thing I can say, truthfully, is that you will still manage to progress in Rank over time. You will adapt and thrive.
-
It would certainly be scarier and have more of a horror feel. The viewpoint and amount of information Survivors get with their third person view is huge. The world shrinks gets far darker when you don't have that. Do I think it would make the game impossible? No. Do I think it would be slightly harder? Oh yes. At one time I thought a good SWF balancing suggestion would be for anyone joining a campfire as a group, they play in 1st Person. :)

Frankly, though you ARE correct, I find this answer flawed.
As a rank 1 Killer who just got there last night(Just before rank reset), I've found that a poor early game can, and in 95% of games WILL, cost you the match.
You are correct, don't get me wrong, you CAN come back from this. My Freddy build is the king of comebacks, after all.
However, it'd be incorrect to say that it isn't highly likely that unless you make a build specifically tailored toward picking yourself back up after a rough early game, you are more than likely boned.
Fair enough, and welcome to the Killer club! Killers have different challenges and frustrations than Survivors. But the key thing to remember is there are no sides. We are all just Players. The Killer versus Survivor dichotomy exists ONLY in the match and I think people should leave it there. It creates to much acrimony to pretend it matters when we talk about game balance.
As a new Killer you are going to find certain Perks really annoying. You get used to them. You play around them. In a way it is no different than the advice I give Survivors who hate Noed or Undying+Ruin. You adapt or die. I don't care about DS. In fact, I don't consider it an anti-tunneling Perk (at least not when you play against me). I tunnel right away to get rid of it early. The earlier I force someone to use it, the less damage it does to me. Early game, it is just another stun. In the End Game Collapse or when there is contention for just a few generators, it is more potent. Timing matters. So I often tunnel off the first hook to force them to use it. Then I don't tunnel them anymore. :) Mean... I know.

I felt bad because i hate when people do that to me.

what if you apologize, because i did that to someone and apologized for it because i knew it was a dick play( insta saved the dude with bt while having smol pp)
If you WANT to apologize, that is your right. I don't ever apologize for playing the game. I wish others a good game and good luck in their next match whether they curb-stomped me or I won. We are playing a PVP game to win. We use the tools we are legally allowed. The only rules you should consider binding are:
- Don't cheat, either with hacks or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
Apologies are empty either way. If you did something in game, you needed to do it. Why apologize? If you didn't really need to do it and did it anyway, you aren't really sorry for it. Why apologize? Long story short, you don't have to apologize.

This is a legitimate question that I feel needs answering. When is second chance perks ok and justified? Can they even be nessacary in order to make a game more fair? We're so focused on the idea of erasing both survivors but what if the mistakes is not our. As a survivor why should I be punished for a mistakes that is out of my control?
Any Perk that you choose to put in is justified the moment you decide to do it. Don't ask this question. It perpetuates this notion that other people get a say on your build. The only person who gets a say is you. If the game makes the option available for a Power, Perk, or Add-on (or even a tactic) it is valid and justified by default.

Op aside, Survivors Post the exact same stuff, whining about matches taking too long because the gens take too long to complete so it's boring, or that certain killer perk combinations allow them to be found too easily they can't sneak around and hide forever, etc.
I won't defend the obvious sense of entitlement OP is exuding, but I absolutely understand where OP is coming from when they say they had three in the basement and one person with borrowed time came down and because they all had borrowed time, it turned what was previously an obvious killer sided match into a "go hunt'em all down one by one" because a single perk allowed one survivor to turn the entire tide of the match against the killer in seconds.
Yet when survivors come up against perks like old ruin or pop, they complain CONSTANTLY because the game is no longer in their favor.
The other aspect about this that you might be missing, is that that screenshot is a rank one with all four iridescents. in order to get all four of those iridescent the amount of work a killer has to put in is enormous compared to what a survivor must do. Just to get an iridescent devoted medal, a killer has to make nine separate hook events inside one match.
Moral of the story here whether OP is entitled or not, the fact that one perk on one survivor changed a three-hooked in the basement outcome to a full iridescent metal board because of how much work they had to then put in to what should have been a fast game is the whole point behind the post.
My point I don't believe the graphic in the first place. What the OP talks about and how he talks about it isn't the way any Rank-1 Killer I know speaks to this issue. In short, I think it is all baloney. It is either a Troll just trying to stir the pot, or someone who is passionate about HIS problems and thinks we (and the DEV) will give it more weight if he pretends to be a Rank-1 Killer.
-
I'm hoping they figured out their hacker issue and have a new method of implementing the Bans. Since I'm optimistic by nature, I'm going lean toward this Ban holding up. I figure it will take at least a month+ before someone figures a way to try and duck it.
-
I made the suggestion that DS activate once you come off the hook and REMAINS active until the Survivor interacts with his/her environment (heal, mend, be healed, be mended, repair, cleanse, etc). or until a different Survivor is put on a Hook. It would also deactivate automatically in the EGC. This would encourage the Killer to hook someone else to end your DS, and you to get away and end it to then do more productive things. This would make it anti-tunnel, and anti-tunnel alone. No timer is necessary. *In my suggestion I say it is usable again and again under these conditions and these conditions only.

How about killers? Can killers win back if they play bad in early game, like get the first hook when only 3 gens left?
Yes they can, which is something you would know if you were actually a Rank-1 Killer. :) I've been losing so badly (Grave of Glenvale last night as a matter of fact) that I didn't get my first hook until only two Generators were left. I ended up with a 3K. It happens all the time.

- I don't have time to wait the DS timer. When I wait 15s for BT and then wait for 45s for DS, all the others survivors are doing the gens. One gen need 80s for one survivor, so if I indulge others doing gens for 60s, I would lose at least 2 gens!
- Even I force survivors to use DS in early game, I still can't affort the loss, because I need another chase when others three are doing free gens, just as the above one.So if I took DS, I have to tunnel that one to playback.
Ok. I hate to say this. I tried to avoid calling you out on it. And if I turn out to be wrong, I will happily eat crow. I don't believe the graphic you put up. I think you believe (incorrectly by the way) that if you make these arguments pretending to be a Rank-1 Killer that we will give them more weight. Everything you say fails to match up with what I know. I'm NOT Rank-1 yet, merely Rank-4. I got there a long hard road playing only Myers who is also largely slow. If I can deal with DS, BT, Unbreakable, etc. so can you. So man up and quit wasting our time.

@OmegaXII said:
It really angers me while reading the commend. How can you all not see the problem when someone is angry even winning the game?
In PVP game, people should NOT ever have chance to reset the game when you play so badly! If you somehow comeback with skill, it's absolutely fine. However, if they make a comeback because of one single thing in the game, then it's broken.
In this situation, how much mistakes survivors need to make in order to be in 3 hook basement situation? Should these survivors even deserve to have second chance?
Sure he won the game, but this is only one game. There are many more games that survivors truly make a comeback because of 1 single perk design. Got 4 slugged because of massive bad play? One unbreakable and the game is reset. Why should these survivors that make bad plays to be even rewarded with a chance to reset your massive mistakes you did and everything the killer takes advantage of?
What if there is a killer perk that unpowers 3 gens after all gens are done, and he only got one hook in total? Does he deserve this chance at all? Yeah you guys still 4 escape, and are you happy with it?
I run into DS all the time. It does not reset the game. It is a "stun," no more and no less. You get stunned by pallets, flashlights, and even the odd firecracker. Those are far less predictable (and unavoidable) than DS. I am not as good as the OP claims to be, and I'm able to deal with DS just fine. Anecdotal as that evidence may be, it is a fact. Some helpful reminders are:
- DS has a Timer. You can just slug them and wait.
- DS can be forced to be used early in the game (I do this all the time).
- Just avoid letting them save it for the EGC.
-
I respectfully disagree. Cleansing a Totem requires no Skill checks. The longest it takes (which requires the Killer taking a Perk) is comparable to opening a Gate. Totems are just fine as they stand now.

I've played this game on and off now for many years, long before console release. I have to say now that the killers are way to powerful now. I mean oni and ghost face just to start it's ridiculous
I'm going to try to elevate this discussion (all on the Forum if I can) because statements like yours are utterly pointless. Let me try to explain why:
Logic is the science that evaluates arguments.
An argument is a group of statements including one or more premises and one and only one conclusion.
A statement is a sentence that is either true or false, such as "The cat is on the mat." Many sentences are not statements, such as "Close the door, please" , "How old are you?"
A premise is a statement in an argument that provides reason or support for the conclusion. There can be one or many premises in a single argument.
A conclusion is a statement in an argument that indicates of what the arguer is trying to convince the reader/listener. What is the argument trying to prove? There can be only one conclusion in a single argument.
-----------------------------------------------
*I trust, looking at the information above, you see where your post fails? You made a statement that Killers are too strong now. You didn't provide even one premise to support your conclusion. Your naming of Oni and Ghostface does not count because it provides no information. Where is the Why and the How? Literally your statement is the same (I assume) as your conclusion.
For the record, I disagree with you that Killers, i.e. plural, are too strong now. You might have an argument if you were to select a specific Killer and support it. Please do so.

Sorry for my poor writing. The story is, in one match I played oni, and I played so good that I got three hooked in the basement.
In general, it should be the end, isn't it? However, they are an AT team, and the last one has borrow time, He just ran to me, took a hit and saved one on the hook, then I found that every of them have borrow time, finally all of the three escape from the basement easily, and I only got one left in the basement.
This is not the end, I chased them and hit two down, but both of the two have Decisive Strike, I took double stupid stun and got nothing. In the beginning, I got three in the basement, but finally I lost everything, and got two stun. This is so much fun, isn't it?
Fortunately, it's me, an experienced killer, not a noob. Finally, I still got 4 kill, but I feel so bad. The game should have ended with four generators left, but they were able to drag two with their op perks. I got so tired with this game since then. Is that mean, as a killer, I must take turns hooking them, one by one, I can't hook two or more at the same time, and I also have to play against gen rush? If that, you are force player to play nurse and spirit.
I already uninstalled the game. I won't play dbd until ZZZ nurf borrow time and Decisive Strike!
Color me dubious. :) And if you are able to get a 4-K at Rank-1 against (one would assume) Red Rank Survivors carrying a potent load out of Perks, then you have NOTHING to complain about. Are you seriously saying it wasn't fun enough for you because it wasn't easier?
-
I've noticed a huge rise in the number of Stealth Killers I face. Perhaps that is being driven by the OoO rise. Who knows.

It is only a problem when it is being used and abused by a SWF. Me personally, as I play Mikey, I love running into it. It is like giving me a 5th Perk.

Yeah, I thought so. I was just curious.
In fairness, I do NOT run those Killers nor those Perk combinations and my answer to you (had it been directed to me) would also have been, "What bearing does that have?" I think you are missing the entire point of the OP (or I am). You are looking for bias when bias, in this case, is TRULY irrelevant. The only relevant thing is what is legal and what is not. Nobody has to explain or justify themselves for making choices which the game provides as options. Players answer to one person, fiat (themselves). Your question to the OP and well as your response seem to infer that you think your judgement matters; it doesn't. You are insignificant in so far as my choices or those of anyone else. Do you follow? I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm saying because it is a fact. Here is something I watch to get perspective from time to time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tm6Z1y3h94
Unlike the infinite universe, our game is finite with clear options and legal choices which are to be made by the Player and the player alone. What is off the table, is not there. We don't have to justify or defend ourselves because the reason we do anything is because we chose to do it and it is our valid right to do so. I don't take an oppressive, game-slowing Perk (as a Killer) because Survivors are running this or that combination. I'm not doing it because I think they are jerks, so I will be one in turn. I take an oppressive, game-slowing Perk because I WANT to take it. It is my RIGHT to take it, and because I believe it will help me get my job done.
So, I won't justify myself to anyone for making a legal choice. I won't apologize to anyone for using it, nor will I apologize for it if/when I curb-stomp you in the process. What I will do is say "good game" whether I won or lost, and wish you luck in your next match. I didn't like the question you asked of the OP, and I liked your response to the answer you got even less. They were passive aggressive, and snotty.

To answer your question. It goes beyond jsut being unsportsmanlike behavior. It is technically a strategy to throw your opponents off. It also is just a video game crouching cant hurt you nor s hi ould it really bother you. Maybe in the moment cause you are angry but thats exactly what they are trying to do.
Heh. If you were to go back through my MANY, long-winded posts you would find me discussing the specific situation you are talking about. You are referring to trying to get people to chase you (I assume). I've stated before that attempts to distract a Killer from an injured Survivor or people working a Generator (or cleansing a Totem) have an actual game purpose. I tend to overlook that in the game. But let's you and I be honest, we are people of action and lies do not become us, this use of T-Bagging is the exception, not the rule. Most people T-bag to give their opponent the virtual finger.
There are lots of ways to get someone's attention in the game (more effective in fact) so that they will chase you. Defaulting to the T-bag is a choice with a clear, specific message. Unless I'm misunderstanding you and you are CHOOSING it because you just want to insult and anger your opponent, hoping that in this state they will make more mistakes over the course of the game. This is a type of psychological warfare, and is STILL bad sportsmanship. Can you do it? Sure. Does it make you a creep? Absolutely. It is your personal brand; take that to heart.
People T-bag frequently at the gate to gloat or simply to give the finger. It has no game purpose. Some people T-bag at pallets to celebrate hitting you with one or just to give you the finger. The list goes on and on. I can tell the difference between the rare exception which you seem to be trying to make your case on and the garden variety unsportsmanlike behavior. Does it upset me? No. Does it annoy me? It used to do so, now I just make a mental note of it and make that particular Survivor an educational opportunity. Quite often I will take to the hatch (or let escape) everyone BUT the T-Bagger. And if that is all I do, they got off lucky.
I don't like bad sportsmanship. I hate cheats. Does this mean I'm a Saint? No. All of us have a history and all of us lapse. I've engaged in the worst kind of bad sportsmanship over the years. I grew out of it, and I am embarrassed of the past behavior. I'm proud to say I never have been a cheat. I believe in playing HARD. The rules I follow are:
- Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
I lapsed just yesterday as I was trying out Calm Spirit to see if it lived up to the recent Hype. I went up against a Doctor in Mother's Dwelling and it was incredible not having to scream. In my enthusiasm, I blurted out how much Calm Spirit ROCKS against the Doc. It wasn't mean-spirited but in light of the game that just happened, it was rude. I apologized.

So you think someone doing a repeated crouch means someone is gonna go commit a crime in real life. Look no offense but let's not have this conservation I dont want to type paragraphs over this.
I think people who are needlessly rude in the game are likely to behave likewise in real life. Crime? No. Being a bad sport isn't a crime in real life either. Your behavior, your manners, are your personal brand. Do I believe people who cheat with hacks and lag spikes are likely to cheat and be unethical in the real world too? Yes. In my experience, there is a direct correlation. So rude in game, rude in life. Unethical in games, unethical in life. I suppose there could be normal, well-adjusted people (the exception) who come into the virtual world and just turn into obnoxious jerks to vent their personal spleen (but that is not my personal experience).
My question to you is WHY do you feel it is so important to defend unsportsmanlike conduct? Why do you think it is important that we lower our standards rather than elevate them?

Did you call someone a "creep" for pressing the crouch button multiple times. Do me a favor and never play gears of war you will never last a day.
I can understand it gets under people's skin when in the moment but wll it is crouching. Tbagging is no where near cheating or hacking it isnt breaking rules all you are doing is taunting your opponent. Smash bros even has a built in taunt system.
Tbagging is a good way to throw your opponent off by making them do bad decisions.
You are correct in saying that bad sportsmanship is not a offense you can be banned for (depending on severity) while cheating is... but they are very much the same thing. It is a matter of degree. I am very open about my bias. I think people who behave poorly in the game, are very likely to do it in real life too. Manners matter. So when I'm at the gate, and exiting and see some of the Survivors with me T-bagging the Killer, I give them a thumbs down (and I might even mention it in post game chat). Does this do much? No. But lowering our standards and expectations of behavior is not something I'm willing to do. So yes, T-bagging is the behavior of spoiled children and creeps. I give my Killer (win or lose) a GG or say nothing at all.
I have played Gears of War (fun game). Just because I don't approve of people behaving poorly doesn't mean I wither and die when they do it. It doesn't do anything to me other than let me know what kind of person YOU are. If that is how some people want to brand themselves, I can't stop them. However, their behavior is going to reflect on me when they are part of the same community as me. I do feel a responsibility for reporting and calling out such behavior so that it isn't assumed I condone (or agree with it) by my silence.

It is and saying it isnt would be a lie. Give me one game where people dont tbag.
Unsportsmanlike behavior is a choice; it is not built into the game. So are there defective creeps who T-Bag in DbD (as well as many other games)? Sure. But is it PART of the game itself by intent? No. So it would be more correct to say T-bagging is part of bad sports. In the same way, hacking and lag spikes to cheat are NOT part of the game, but people do these things too. That doesn't make them part of the game. Do you follow?

I've gone three days playing Survivor now without encountering a single Mori. That is a little unusual, but over all I usually only see them now and then. I can't speak to how often they show up in the Blood Web (because it seems to vary) but clearly people aren't using them as often as they get them.

I really would like to see how you play against OoO as a Tier 1 Myers unless you're on Hawkins or another indoor map. Even with the undectecable the perk still works like Premonition on steroids and tells which direction you're coming. PWYF is nice but I don't think it justifies staying at tier 1 the entire game, especially when you'll only move at 120% with 3 stacks (when you could have 130% on T2 or T3) and it takes time to build them.
I'm sure we can put together a custom game sometime. And I'm sure there must be some people who have played against my Spooky Myers that read here, and could chime in. To be honest, I've come to prefer Spooky Myers over Maniac Myers. I really get a rush out of earning a 3-4K on a McMillian or Cold Wind Farms map. Rotten Fields is my Mt. Everest; that is the only Cold Winds Farm I can't seem to win with Spooky Myers.

Are people on this thread really suggesting staying in Tier 1 is a counter against OoO? Do they even know that he moves at 105% and has basically no lunge attack without an addon that nobody uses besides Scratched Mirror memers?
Yes, I do... and yes I am. I play Michael Myers exclusively until I feel competent. I can honestly say that not one OoO has gotten out of a match alive with me, and every single person (and their teammates) has regretted them bringing it. His speed 105% (also can be augmented by PWYF) is more than adequate to catch people, particularly when you can see them and they can't see you.

The legion ability is not very effective survivors heal quickly as if the ability were nothing they have to be without moving for it to work it never works I think it could improve I would like you to take it into account
I don't know about that. After Pig, my next most losses (i.e. KIA) is to Legion. I don't know why but I don't perform well against them.

I've been giving Calm Spirit a test out and I have to say it has been worth having.

It doesn't need a Nerf; jeez you people are needy. For the longest time Killers were just told pressure those Generators! Well, Undying+Ruin doesn't do squat unless the Killer is pressuring those Generators. You got your wish. Now it is the Survivors (and I play one too) to get the lecture, "do the Bones." That is all you have to do. I've played against plenty of Survivors who have managed to deal with the situation just fine. Why don't you spend the time you waste trying to OUT OF GAME get the Hex removed, playing and practicing so you can just remove it in the game.

Are you including Undying in your build? Because of so, then here is the question I have. Most people (the ones who play optimally) will cleanse away any totem (hex or not) they find on their way to a gen.
Undying therefore has a smaller chance to transfer to another totem. Since you are already using 3 hex perk slots and two will most likely get cleansed... there is no totems left for whatever hex is cleansed next to transfer to, so the value of Undying then is basically very low, because the only thing Undying is left to do then is to give you those 2 second aura reveal, until it’s gone.
Like, (IMO) you get more value out of it when you pair it with like 1-2 hex perks, which is why I said I think adding Thrill is overkill. Then again since you are talking about a specific build maybe that would be an exception.
Yeah, I usually run the Undying. Prior to that Perk I always ran Ruin+Thrill of the Hunt and got reasonable results. I find I get even better results with the Undying. One more "Lit" Totem means an greater probability (and sooner) that a Survivor jumps on one. That and I kind of dig the motion detector aspect of the Totems lighting people up even when I'm not stalking.
The thing is I run either Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo) or a Maniac Myers (which is pretty much any Myers that can get to Tier-3). Spooky Myers just needs to find them fast and once I'm in range I never lose them. The Aura sensors on Totems spread around the map are useful for that first find, combined with the fact that one of them is going to jump on a Totem. Ruin in the mix ensures they want my Totems gone. When I'm playing Maniac Myers the Aura sensors are even more important because he can't wall hack. I have a greater chance of losing them. Again, I want someone to jump on a Totem, Thrill gives me the audible warning, I swing the right direction and run it down, usually getting a grab. Finding them quicker means juicing up to Tier-2 and then Tier-3 sooner.
*I purchased Monitor & Abuse on the Shrine two weeks ago but due to some kind of bug I still don't have it. I'm looking forward to running:
Hex: Undying
Hex: Ruin
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
Monitor & Abuse
w/Dead Rabbit and Fragrant Tuft of Hair (that should be fun).
The thing is I don't really NEED a lot when I'm playing Spooky Myers aside from Play With Your Food. Oddly enough it is Maniac Myers that needs the 3-Hex configuration more. Even so, I've gotten rather accustomed to using it. I find it very effective against SWF and to be honest, that is about ALL I fight these days.
-
Solo and Team (SWF) should be separated in ques. But aside from that, there is nothing unfun about a competitive game.
-
There is no reason competitive and fun are mutually exclusive.
-
I agree with the OP; there is no reason to try and justify your actions. As long as you aren't cheating with hacks or lag spikes, disconnecting and leaving games unfinished, there is nothing you have to apologize for or explain. As a Killer I will camp, tunnel, slug, or Mori if it is appropriate at that time. I will use whatever Perk I see fit. As a Survivor I will engage in whatever build I want too, and make no excuse for team tactics to get people out alive. Don't hate the playa... hate the game.

You are using a VERY specific build to coincide with your point, I thought OP was asking in general. Undying reveals the survivor’s aura which is already giving you enough information IMO.
If survivors are encouraged to cleanse regular totems via Thrill, that means your ability (as spooky Myers) to get there in time is low, compared to if you didn’t have Undying. Why? Because the counter to Undying is to cleanse regular totems and get them out of the way. Which also makes your Thrill worthless at that point.
I don't disagree with you that this build was selected for my own playing style. I'm counting on them cleansing those Totems. It helps me find them faster. Instead of Corrupt Intervention which slows the furthest Generators down by cutting them off for two minutes, I'm using something that simply helps me locate my targets quicker. I gave the context that I use this for Myers and why. I agree that Killers that have higher mobility will probably not find the same utility here as they don't need this kind of edge.
But again, I disagree with you as my ability to get where I need with Spooky Myers is quite adequate. It is the FIRST Totem that they attempt to cleanse that will take the longest, and it is that Totem which I will be on before they are done. The key is that I will have found them, which is really my goal. Anything that happens after that is cake. If the Totems last, wonderful; if they get hit one by one, it is not really a loss and again, I don't care too much about them beyond being motion detectors. I only play Myers until I feel I am competent with him, so I can't speak to the efficacy of this build for the other Killers. But what I can tell you is that it works very well for me.

@Johnny_XMan said:
Doesn’t Undying already give you the information that you need when they are cleansing your Hex?
The cleansing time increase isn’t worth it IMO. Not when having Undying is going to further encourage survivors to cleanse regular totems even more, making Undying worthless, because there’ll be no totems for it to possible transfer to.
Not really, no. I want that audible notification so I immediately swing the correct direction (if I was looking the other way when they touch my totem). The extra time is usually enough for me to get there. This is because as Spooky Myers I tend utilize the center of the map extensively at the start to maximize my Wall Hacks while I'm doing the initial searches. I've failed to reach a Totem once with this configuration on the Mother's Dwelling Map (it is just huge) but aside from that if I decide to defend the Totem, I always get there before it blows if it is the first one being cleansed. It is that first Grab that I really want too.
-
Killers don't mind chasing you, but none of them are really interesting in "looping" where you waste a lot of time. I just think more Killers are learning when to abandon a chase based on terrain, time, and alternate targets of opportunity.
