Aww, that’s a bummer. Do you know if the 3 current cosmetics are made by the Devs? Or from the show? It would cool if we got Blighted Demo in the future if the License ever gets renewed

As of right now we can assume some are from the show as for the Deer looking one and the deo mutation no clue possible leaks from season 3-4 won't know until the show comes out as for Blighted Demo it'd be up to the license holders whether or not that fits their character.

  • There will be no new content coming as the license holders and behavior have backed out of the contract what is already in game is the final of the cosmetics for all characters.

  • Nah I think that'll stay up it's just the content leaving.

  • Ehhh I hate to be that guy but i gotta be sadly this would make Hacking even more of an issue people would make an alt hack it take all the BPS and transfer them to their main which would be free of ban because Behavior can't prove it's the same person see the issue here?

  • @WeenieDog said:

I don't think content creators are getting cease and desist letters when they stream/record Friday the 13th footage, So I don't think it'll happen here.

While true it can happen using DMCA due to that being their copyright.

Will I be able to stream /play with Stranger Things characters?

Stranger Things content downloaded before November 17th at 2 PM EST, with the exception of the Map, will remain available for players, streamers and influencers alike. So, we invite the Stranger Things fans who have yet to get the chapter to purchase it before that date in order to secure access to it and enjoy the series’ content.

    Awesome thank you buddy.

  • @Rougual said:

    They'll probs go to jail.

I mean all jokes aside this is a very gray area at any point in time the license holders could choose to DMCA people's videos who play Demo and stuff due to the license no longer being there why im asking.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Possibly. If they already lost the ST license, surely they wouldn't be able to sell it still.

Not true at all you can continue to sell the content until the date the contract ends which is likely Nov 17th the cut off.

  • No as of now all ties with Netflix and Behavior are cut in terms of the Stranger Things chapter so it's without a doubt i can say no this isn't happening.

  • First off this changes nothing again blaming Netflix here isn't smart we don't know exactly what happened and it doesn't help speculation is happening be happy Netflix even allowed Behavior to keep Demo, Nancy and Steve content in the game be thankful for that.

  • Yes it can come back if its negotiated back in.

  • They don't have the choice Netflix likely revoked use of the map also renaming it would just feel weird and would 100% violate the rights to the license.

  • I don't i can finally run Perk variety again and not have to sweat as hard as possible as Hag back to being relaxed and having fun games that are laid back.

Well ST skins in Fortnite have not appeared in the item shop since 2019 i think.

As i said Fortnite is a much much much bigger game than dbd.

True its possible thats because they already ran their pockets and Fortnite might have done what Behavior is doing now. Also bigger or not it doesn't matter we don't know the numbers Netflix was looking for so we can't say for a fact Fortnite didn't turn it down either.

Fortnite is much bigger game then DBD.

    DBD needs licenses to survive.

Doesn't matter we live in a world where Money is the most important option surely they're after Fortnites pockets next let's be real.

  • As MrGimms would say legit get a grip dude no this doesn't mean DBD is dying its one chapter out of many please stop with these pointless posts saying one bad thing happens and "DBD's dying"

  • Halloween license was just renewed no this doesn't apply however if the IP's decide they want to renegotiate obviously they can but i doubt it as we just saw them finish negotiations.

  • Exactly people are trying to panic off a company who's done this to similar games if i was Fortnite I'd be shaking they're likely next.

Just because solo is ignored shouldn’t mean that we should continue to do so. Additionally, just because a portion of the player base is trying move the game into a competitive direction doesn’t mean the devs want to either. Dbd was never meant to be a competitive game.

Being in solo que shouldn’t be instant “hard mode” for a player that could either not have any friends (or at least ones that play this game) or not want to play with others. No player should need to have friends to properly play dbd with a fair chance of surviving. Balancing for swf will make that à reality.

If so, will solo que be rewarded for choosing the hard difficulty or will it not be an option. Put simply, what incentive will survivors have to play solo? Because without any I’d doubt many would, meaning there will be longer que times for killers any survivors that aren’t a 4 man swf since many of the randoms that would fill in the empty slots will either already be in a swf or not playing.

I’m not saying that nothing should be done about the discrepancy of power a solo team has with swfs and killers, but balancing towards swf without doing any for solos will have a negative impact in the game’s health and player base. Please wait until that discrepancy is dealt with.

Hey man you're speaking to the crowd but the game is shifting into competitive play and also its clear the Developers want it because why else would they design a competitive MMR system.

I hope we're in the rare timeline where they, for once, don't implement such a ######### idea. I really love playing this game, but I dont wanna be forced to group up with my friends anytime I wanna play it. I love going solo survivor :/

It's Behavior they think they know what's best for the game, sorry man, it's coming either way, too many supports of it which is very concerning how that many people support it tells me a lot of them aren't getting the miserable games I and Many others have gotten from it. The sweat High MMR brings is boring and how I know I'm High MMR is when i check profiles I see people ranging from 1k hours all the way to 6k and these are good players who stick to gens and the games go by quickly once people get these players which they will ranking in MMR is a 100% so one day they'll get these players and soon they will be complaining just like everyone else was.

  • No matter how many people argue against it Behavior will push this live calling it now just like Dedicated Servers So many people hated how bad they were when they just pushed them on us without a warning. They will do the same here and there's nothing we can do they're only listening to those praising MMR they aren't giving these posts the time of day trust me we've been here before.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/273297/should-the-workaround-to-franklins-be-removed

If the Survivors are dropping keys and their Items to be picked up later (requiring time spent to move back to them and pick them up), you are still getting value from Franklins with a far a more interesting interaction than "Franklins = No Items", which is what it seems you want, and isn't actually competitive, more a crutch.

Hell, I don't even like the full depletion that's possible, as for the most part Survivors will just decide to leave the item there as a lost cause when they drop it, and not waste time going for it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2432293#Comment_2432293

If your issue is that Key = Hatch, well, that's your issue, not Franklins. Pretty poor game design if Franklins is a niche Perk anyway whose sole "redeeming factor" is that people want it to function as a mandatory meta "anti-hatch" Perk rather than a general Item-disruption Perk.

Also: "buffing lower tier Perks" - "'ve had to use it a tone at higher MMR", kind means that it's not really a "lower tier Perk". And the Item discussion is certainly something that should be considered.

It's not really a crutch if Keys are being used heavily during this MMR test and while i see somewhat where you're trying to come from again If we're aiming this game towards being competitive than we need to keep in mind the strength of Items and Addons.

Green toolbox with double charges is still just as bad as it was prior you can get almost two gens done.

    A Key speaks for itself

An Insta Heal which is very common or Stiptics

    Good Flashlights

    Again these are just examples.

You can argue these are more issues with Addons to which I'll agree but sitting here saying a Key in general is the only issue isn't fair how about spawning placing your key down and leaving it that's an issue.

  • @Ludicris said:

Just make keys so that only the survivor who used the key can escape, and only if had been already hooked 2 times. Problem solved.

Good idea waiting for the comment to be deleted usually ideas like these go missing.

  • @Dustin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2432325#Comment_2432325

I'm asking about one or the other but I only brought up Hoarder because the theme of the perk and it alerts killer when survivors pick up an item.

Franklin's Demise shows the auras of all items on the ground or just knocked items? I feel the aura should always be visible with both of these perks personally.

Yeah I personally think it should be applied to Franklins in general as you just don't have the option to waste more than one perk slot to ensure counterplay to Items.

Also Franklins shows all items even dropped ones I ended up finding the Key they dropped on Midwich.

  • @Dustin said:

What if Hoarder or Franklin's Demise alerted the killer with a noise notification when an item was dropped?

Would you personally find that a suitable adjustment?

Honestly that wouldn't be an awful change but again thats two wasted perk slots to know when a Survivor drops an item EH idk how i feel about that. Against the best MMR players you can't afford to waste a perk slot and having to waste two just to ensure an item degrades is a little too much I think buffing Franklins would be enough.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2432293#Comment_2432293

But that's ignoring solo, and something I desperately don't want to increase are the perks which require lots of teamwork to counteract. In this scenario they need to know where your item is, if its worth saving, and have to not steal it from you.

After some solo buffs and a key nerf I'm 100% down for testing it out, though I do with event items could get an exclusion from Franklin's (and never make an event key)

I mean, Solo has been ignored for a long time and also Solo shouldn't be what determines how the game is Balanced if we're moving towards a more Competitive Game than we have to throw balancing for Solo's and Lower MMR out the door SWF's should be the main focus and now balancing around that since the game is Competitive now. The game should start taking the turn towards balancing everything that includes Items, Perks, and even Maps and Addons Right now, seeing multiple keys and having Survivors just predrop them because they expect Franklins feels so unrewarding and it puts Killers in such an awful situation. Either you Slug or you Lose.

This is a big issue with MMR is the Higher MMR's suffer while the lower MMR's don't see these kind of things often so people's idea of how the game is played at Higher MMR is conflicting. While I understand it sucks losing Event Items that's sadly the risk you take bringing them. Also while I understand the Developers have a Key rework coming I don't and many others don't have the faith they'll balance Keys if anything I'm expecting a Buff.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Sounds more like a key issue than anything else tbh. Toolboxes aren't great, Flashlights are detrimental to a survivor team, Maps are only good in solo or if you're really bad at talking, and a single hit with Franklin's equipped removes an entire health state from a Medkit. Keys are the only real issue here.

I'd say rework them and then see what happens, since the only time I ever see Franklin's is during events to ruin the survivor's uses of the event items.

True but it doesn't hurt by buffing lower tier perks anyway also Survivors can still pick the item up and drop it while you're chasing their friend. Also I've had to use it a ton at higher MMR a lot of Strong Items and Addons being brought.

  • @th3 said:

    Sounds like a skill issue

Good points actually nvm you're right I went full Pepega.

  • Really sad hes leaving one of the very few who understood Killer gameplay at the highest rank. Really Sadge

what does playing sweaty got to do with Matchmaking?

You do realize how MMR works correct...

  • This is what the Developers want. They want this game to be Esports Competitive gameplay and its funny because when people kept saying this was gonna happen we kept getting told we're just crying and we don't know what we're talking about funny how a lot of people are waking up to how bad this is in Dead by Daylight.

  • @UncleStabby said:

I'm enjoying it. Now all they need to do is create a casual mode. For those of us who aren't in it to win, and just want to have fun.

This would mean splitting the community and there's potential one side is played more than the other leading to longer queues. Also a casual mode is a horrible idea there's people who want to play the game and not meme and goof around which casual would be. Lastly there's a way to make a matchmaking system which allows for good players to progress and keeps them away from lower ranks without MMR being it.

Choosing to play sweaty or meme around shouldn't be the only two options offered and by your suggestion those are the only two options there.

  • Nope It's forced me to have to sweat every game and its sucked the fun outta the game.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

there's plenty of RNG in Dota2 and that game has the largest prize pool in all of gaming. Chaos Knight is literally built on RNG. Ogre Magi as well. He purposely sounds like a slot machine because you don't know if you're going to cast something Once, or Four times.

Also, League of Legends, Runes, and Summoner Spells.

Since it's Inception, Flash has and always will be the most powerful summoner spell for 90% of situations. What does that sound like? the perks that are used the most frequently by both killers and survivors in DBD. They work, they aren't niche and they are powerful. Wow, it's the same thing.

There will always be runes that surpass others, hell they got rid of the old rune system because they couldn't figure out how balance hundreds of runes. Runes in its current form, while far simpler, still has its shining stars that make other runes appear obsolete. Kleptomancy had to be removed due to it's strength. The illusion of choice is a trait that both DBD and LoL share.

League now also has plants that spawn randomly that can affect terrain traversal, sustain, and vision. Oh, and the dragons spawn at random as well. Never know what type of major buff you'll get.

What you don't mention is while that is small amounts of RNG they still are in a game that is built competitively and are balanced for them again this point isn't exactly 100% accurate. You can't compare a game that changes their meta every 2 months to a game that has the same stale meta for years and you can't deny Leagues gone through several changes in its time. Also while there may be a tiny amount of RNG its not on the scale of Dead by Daylight and same with the other games mentioned.

Lastly The spawns are those things are known by the players mean while for an example Survivor spawns can be so random at time its hard for Killers to know the spawns to the tee. Again this isn't a fair comparison

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

You didn't make any points that's why I replied in a similar fashion.

Software engineers are working hard on this SBMM, but you just come and say "it won't work guys, i know it".

Clearly you don't read comments I made more than enough valid points also just because software engineers work on something doesn't make it concrete. Again my point still stands MMR and RNG can't work together and haven't.

  • @OldHunterLight said:

A game that doesn't let you know if you win or lose shouldn't have an mmr system.

What is a win in dbd? No one knows we all have a different definition for winning on both sides.

    Thank you exactly agreed.

Yeah, it is not gonna work, because you said so. The mighty all knowing expert in everything. How come you are wasting your life on DBD instead of being the CEO of the next tech giant?

First of all you have no idea what you're talking about second of all i can tell you've never played a competitive game in your life if you truly believe MMR and RNG can coexist. Lastly coming at me passive aggressive isn't gonna make your point and it shows if you need to come off like this you can't disprove my points.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/271654/just-admit-it-doesnt-work

We have a current system that doesn't work or maybe doesn't exist, I'm not sure which.

Why shouldn't Behavior try and put something into place and MMR has been shown time and time again to work. Maybe it won't work but isn't it really their entire job to fix things that aren't working.

Your basically telling the Developers that everyone is fine with you putting out content and not fixing problems with the game.

That's not at all what was implied im for a new system but this isn't going to work there's factors that make it impossible and yes MMR has shown progress in games WITHOUT RNG and unbalanced crap to that you're right however apart from it working in other games its going to fail here. In order for MMR to work you can't have RNG because it completely takes away the point of MMR it can easily mask someones skill because it can easily hurt the other side and the same goes both ways.

  • @SloppyVoldemort said:

I don't really care about this mmr. On or not, the matchmaking is gonna suck anyway.

I dunno, even if it never works perfectly I enjoy the tests and MMR going on and off. Outside of chapter releases the game is pretty stale and same-y so it spices things up at least.

While i see what you're saying you should also keep in mind most players in the game want this game to progress and continue to get bigger not because of DLC's but because its a good game and right now matchmaking and the idea of MMR is taking this game backwards over forwards.

No, you said you wanted better matchmaking.

Matchmaking requires data with which to determine a match. A MMR, Matchmaking rating.

You can't have matchmaking without MMR. Even our current matchmaking has it, your rank is your MMR.

You're just jumping on a buzzword bandwagon without any understanding of what it means.

You do realize what you just said is false correct we've had other matchmaking systems prior to MMR you do realize MMR isn't the only matchmaking system out there correct? We've had the bloodpoint system which in my opinion a little tuning and it would work perfectly we had the Emblem system which well was dogwater.

Don't forget simple things like if the survivors spawn spread out or together, if someone spawns on top of a lit totem, etc. Even something as simple as the coin flip of the killer picking the correct corner of the map to start a chase at the beginning or not.

That falls more under RNG don't worry i got you.

They were all closest to my skill level than what I have with the current rank matching system.

Name any competitive game with MMR that has these factors. RNG and Unbalanced Maps and Perks I will await your response of you finding a game with MMR that has these factors and it must be a popular competitive game. That's how i know.
