  • you know, im really hoping for an upside down map.

i dont think they would hype up a rework like that - plus it would kinda come out of nowhere.

and a whole stream just for a new skin also seems a little too much, so i hope its gonna be a new Stranger Things style map...

  • when the Add On rework comes for her, i hope they leave Iri Head as is and take away her bonus hatchet Add Ons.

those are, by far, her strongest Add Ons - reduced penality for missed shots, gain more potential damage by default and no downsides whatsoever.

  • if the killer is camping, why are you standing in front of him at the hook instead of doing a gen?

as i put go look into that distance yourself and for aware player 16 meters is a good distance. 32 does nothing other than limit info at long range so this buff will do almost nothing in open maps which what im trying to address.

you want aware players to always be awarded even if they spot him late i want there to still be a chance for wraith to get close enough to land a hit as well as limit the range survivors see him so he is an actual stealth killer in open maps. this buff does nothing unless the player is in the open.

are you really telling me that if a player see's wraith and i'll be generous at 24 meters or over than you will be able to get to them before they make it pretty much any pallet in the other direction. the only way you getting to them first is speed addons which are his best addons and even then its not guaranteed as always.

that doesn't do anything then, again this is so he has a better chance to get player in the open. 32 meters is practically the distance you see him at anyway most of the time in the match. again this buff doesn't do anything unless you have a clear line of sight in the direction wraith is so enclosed areas or gens on the side of the map will barely see any changes to how you see wraith sneak up on you.

i dont see a reason for it not to be 16 meters, it doesn't make him OP and you dont get free hits if you actually knew how much that distance is.

edit: if you want it can be AT MOST 24 meters but as i've said i believe 16 meters is the best distance otherwise this fails to help him get close in open maps.

okay, again: i am NOT trying to buff him, as he is mostly fine the way he currently is. i am aiming for a QUALITY OF LIFE update.

"you want aware players to always be awarded even if they spot him late" that makes no sense, your entire idea is based on exactly that.

"i want there to still be a chance for wraith to get close enough to land a hit" exactly, thats what you want: free hits. and i keep telling you to stop asking the devs to give you free hits, its not going to happen. put some work into it yourself if you want to achieve a hit. sneaking up on them and getting an early hit is already very easy with him, you just want there to be no chance of avoiding him anymore - especially with windstorm + swift hunt add ons.

"are you really telling me that if a player see's wraith and i'll be generous at 24 meters or over than you will be able to get to them before they make it pretty much any pallet in the other direction" - no. thats the point. if you get seen, they avoid you. if i were to rewrite that sentence, it would basically be "survivors should not be able to reach a pallet / window before i hit them when they spot me", aka asking for free hits.

    ill sum it up here:

getting close to a survivor is something YOU as the player should achieve.

you are not ment to always get right on top of them, just because you are cloaked, if you take a bad pathing they will (and are ment to) spot you and avoid you.

stop trying to suck anything skillbased out of this game, asking the devs to introduce mechanics that do it for you. if you keep getting spotted, then rethink the way you are playing and improve.

  • killers should all be bound to a chair in the basement

  • my current build is:

    • Discordance
    • Thanatophobia
    • Pop Goes The Weasel
    • Brutal Strength

its designed to reveal the location of multiple targets to apply Feral Frenzy to, highlight the gen where pop can deal the most damage and slow them down while speeding me up in chases.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1711655#Comment_1711655

then this does nothing, do know how large 32 meters is? the point of this is so players dont see him at long distances until is close, 16 meters is close but not by much good players can still see him at that range and get to a pallet in time.

this is to address him in open maps if its at 32 meters it might as well not do anything because players will see him from afar and do what they normally do against him.

there is nothing wrong with a slightly strong buff to an underwhelming killer. perceptive players are still rewarded it just wont be as easy to spot him as quickly to get good distance and there is nothing wrong with that.

i know how much 32m is, im fully aware of the distance.

the question is, do you have any idea how short 16m would be?

thats basically a free hit you are asking for rn.

as i said, i do NOT want this to be a "i want free hits" tool, i want this to be a QoL change that fits his power and makes sense to implement. one where ive been wondering for a long time now why it isnt a thing in the first place. im not aiming to buff him majorly, he is mostly fine the way he is right now.

and if everyone gets notified of a normal killer within a 32m range to them, i dont see why aware survivors shouldnt be able to see your husk in the same range. its not like they get told you are there like with every other killer. there are no audio clues, there is no huge outstanding playmodel with a red shimmer in front of it, you should be able to get close to them relatively easily, as you currently already can.

i say its BS how they can see you on the other side of the map, even though you are cloaked. the info they should be able to get on you in that state should be limited (limited - not fully taken away), so seeing nothing of you outisde of 32m to them would do that job just great.

again: if you want to get close, at least put a little work into it by avoiding sightlines. dont just ask the devs to do your job for you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1711618#Comment_1711618

thats a lot of distance too much imo thats why i said 8 to 16 meters because in that range wraith has a better chance to get to the survivor unnoticed. anything above 16 meters will result in survivors being able to spot him early and get to a pallet at a great distance that they otherwise wouldn't have gotten to the same or slightly lesser degree then how often that happens right now. im not saying that won't happen anymore if it was at 16 meters im just saying that the distance has to be shortish for this buff to be good.

If this was implemented i think 16 meters is the sweet spot and if they introduced addons to reduce that it should only go to at most 8 meters and it should be an ultra or very rare addon.

spotting him early is part of his counterplay though.

thats why he is barely visible in the first place, so aware players can see him approach and avoid him.

if you wanna sneak up to them to that distance, you should put some work into it, not just ask the devs to give it to you for free.

32m (the size of a normal Terror Radius) is imo a great distance, as it allows survivors to spot Wraiths who dont really care about their pathing, but you wont be seen approaching them from half the map away.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/201554/why-not-make-it-so-wraith-cant-be-seen-while-cloaked-outside-of-a-certain-distance

Because Wraith can be tough enough to deal with already? :) He is the FASTEST of the Stealth Killers with his Add-On(s), and a Survivor's best defense is to spot him quick to get the maximum head start.

but there is a difference between spotting an approaching Wraith early and constantly seeing him walk around on the other side of the map.

i mean, his cloak is supposed to be a stealth ability, but its ridiculously easy to consistently keep track of him.

at least let him stay hidden on long distances. imo a 32m radius where his husk is visible should be more than enough to spot and avoid him.

  • ive been wanting that ever since they introduced that mechanic with Freddy...

it really makes no sense that Freddy is invisible from 32m onwards, but Wraith, the guy who was DESIGNED to be invisible and not seen until he gets close, doesnt.

EDIT: fixed an error. its 32m, not 36.

  • i mean, if there is one thing i cant disagree on from Almos view on it, its that the Object user usually dies.

if you wanna piss off the killer, use it. you better be damn good at the game though.

if you wanna survive, no. avoid this perk and anyone that runs it at any cost.

But Amanda died on screen in fact she died before John.

( side note I think it's kind of sad that Amanda didn't realise how much John truly care about her.

She thought she was just a pawn in the end and her last memory of him was his utter disappointment in her that she failed her test.

Despite all that Amanda along with Jill was one of the last things John thought back to as he was dying he was disappointed in her but doesn't mean he didn't still love her like a daughter)

according to the devs, when she laid there, bleeding out on the floor, she was still alive.

it wasnt shown when exactly she died, unlike John (whose exact moment of death actually played a big role in the story), so the entity chose her in her last few seconds, off screen.

their explanation of why we got Amanda instead of John back then was, because "the Entity can not take dead people" - they must be alive in the moment they get abducted, a trend that they havent broken up till today. they always mention the person "disappearing" without a trace, no sign whether they are stil alive or not.

  • Killer.

the story behind it is actually kinda funny:

when i first started to play DbD, i havent had all that much experience in the Horrorgame genre (FNaF games were like the only thing), so i was way too scared to play Survivor and instead stuck to killer, as i didnt have to fear anything there.

i overcame that fear at some point and did play Survivor every now and then, but around that time i also started feeling burned out with DbD, due to all the balancing issues the game had back then, so i went on a multi month break.

the thing that brought me back back then was the release of a new killer, the Doctor. i loved the idea and design of him and i soon became a Doctor main - though at the same time ended up being too scared to play survivor again, due to the Docs face jumpscaring you whenever you tiered up in madness. this fear however did not last long at all, i got over that within like 3 games against him.

ever since ive never really been scared again in this game tbh.

i understood more and more of the mechanics, gained more knowledge on looping and what each specific killer does. however, i could never really get into survivor. the gameplay went from too scary to too boring / frustrating, so i stuck with killer for all these years (doesnt mean i wouldnt play survivor, i have sthg like a 70 / 30 ratio, but killer is simply more appealing and fun to me)

  • pretty sure by the time the event is over anyone who wanted a Dwight Scarecrow got one.

they have a LOT of codes.

its hard and annoying to get them now, but nearing the end of the event most will have one, so a code wont be used up in 0.5 seconds and you got a very good chance to get one yourself.

knowing them, they are just going to give the charm out to everyone at some point anyway.

  • imo there should be more survivor perks that punish campers and there should be something that punishes genrush (a perk, an ingame mechanic, whatever).

honestly, that would be enough to make me happy for now, as i see those two as the main problems for both sides.

  • depends what you think makes it the "best"

    raw power? - Nurse

    uniqueness? - Doc

scariness? - Ghostie / Mirror Myers

    mobility? - Billy

fun? - thats entirely up to the player

    sexiness? - Clown

  • a little bit off topic, as im not exactly a new killer, but back when i first started (September 2016) it took me a little over a year (October 2017) to unlock the "Legendary Killer" achievement. i have no idea how many ingame hours i had, guess a couple of hundred? maybe 200 to 300 or sthg like that?

in my defense, the game was a lot less balanced, i was a lot worse at it and i didnt play it nearly as much as i do today xD

  • Blood Favor.

lets be honest, the perk doesnt need to be a Hex, have a limited range, a short duration AND a cooldown.

  • out of the Hallowed Curse skin collection my favourite has to be the Legion.

though with shards i would recommend going for the Felix skin first, as that, before the discount started, was only available with Auric Cells - and i fear it may go back to that.

all the other skins (besides GF due to licensing) are free and obtainable all year anyway, so you dont have to rush it - if you're missing a character you can definitely also go for that instead (imo that would be more profitable, due to you unlocking a completely new character instead of having just a piece of clothing).

  • i was told that anything, that does not explicitly state otherwise, stacks.

so going by that rule, your build definitely works.

No need to try when swings go RIGHT THROUGH people. I outplay a survivor hit misses because of how bad the game is at the moment but i need to get better right? that dont have to fix it or anything why should they you benefit form it. lol

that doesnt sound like a game issue, that sounds like a connection issue you have.

    my hits register just fine

  • well, in the Devs version Amanda "was never shown to have died", so the Entity took her mere seconds before death, much like Spirit later.

at least thats why they said John didnt make it in, as he had indeed died on screen.

  • congratulations.

once you are done feeling sorry for yourself, why not try improving at the game?

you are going to run out of moris eventually, so you will have to do that at some point.

  • eigther all survivors spawn on a hook or the killer does.

i dont think there would be anything inbetween...

People don't want a full refund. They just wanted to pay the same as the people who got the "discount". They want fair treatment.

I sure as hell didn't get a free skin. I lost 1.25 skins. I did not get given free auric cells. That was a bug and most people did not get that. All the auric cells I got I paid for. All the shards I got I played for. The only solace I got in this is that at least some people will second guess BHVR more than they already did and that it came before I bought my annual auric cells for the sale. So there's that.

you know, as much as i understand your point here, i can not help but feel like people who complain about this, making a huge drama out of it, are just acting super entitled.

i fully get why people complain that they were not told earlier about this, but acting like thats the reason they want to quit the game now is just ridiculous.

i mean, i was happy that those skins were shard skins in the first place! we didnt have that last time, last time you had to grind the event to unlock two or buy them with real money only.

so out of the 6 eternal blight skins, 4 are free anyway - and the only reason one of the other two is AC only is due to it being licensed.

that alone imo is a great deal. with how much work went into those, usually those kind of skins are AC only skins, yet we got 4/6 for free (forever - its not like they would turn into AC only skins after the event ended, like all the other Halloween skins (as far as im aware)).

and on top of that, they allow you to gain a completely free skin, progress towards another AND a discount on any not already bought skins just for logging in.

thats why i said before that im mostly happy with it. they could have done it better for sure - but its not a bad deal at all imho.

I'm not going to forget everything just because they gave me a free skin.

Also my support ticket is still open and i'm waiting for the response. Then i'll do whatever. Also i'm not demanding a refund, i just think people who spent the 21k should get a refund and that's all.

If you didn't spent 21k or more on the skins and you don't think this is a problem, why you're losing your precious time posting here?

Just congratulate BHVR on their twitter or something.

"im not going to forget everything" - what exactly are you referring to here? there is nothing they tried to make up for by giving the discount, so what is there that, in your opinion, they need to be forgiven for?

and your support ticket may still be "pending", but you got the answer - you even posted it here. the answer is "no refunds". they've always done it that way and this case is highly unlikely to change that.

and i am "losing my precious time posting here", because i want to.

good to see that you can not handle critisism though.

Because is not right to ignore problems just because they gave us a freebie.

Still waiting on a official statement.

    what problem?

the "problem" that they literally gift you a whole skin and more?

would you rather them not doing any of that?

could they have done it better? yes. they should have announced the discount when they put the skins in the shop / delayed the release of the skins and give them out together with the discount.

is that enough of a reason to demand a full on refund? definitely not. you already talked to the support about this, you got your official answer right there. plus by buying the cosmetics when they came out you were able to use them earlier than others who didnt.

  • you bought them for a higher price, therefore you were able to play them earlier.

i agree that they should have announced that as soon as the skins went live, but a refund is not going to happen.

instead of complaining, why cant we be happy they even give us one free skin and a good amount of progress to another?

  • while i agree on the general topic that Freddy is a little over the top, i dont necessraily agree with your suggested changes.

i agree that the passive sleeping should only start once a survivor has been dragged into the dreamworld once before andi also agree that some of his add ons need changes, namely those that reduce a survivors action speed while in the dream world.

but thats it. other add ons dont need touching and other base aspects of him are also fine.

  • while i can understand the though process behind it, limiting it to 10 persons per code is ridiculous.

i honestly feel like i have a better chance guessing the code than actually winning one in a stream, ngl.

  • the reasoning for it was, that killers should have to decide between kicking a gen with pop or going in a chase immediately.

with the 60 second timer killers could go for a chase first, down the survivor, then kick their gen with pop and then get another pop from the new hook.

  • The only time i ever regret prestiging a Killer was when i prestiged Freddy (only P1, but still) right after he came out, due to the hype.

at some point i P3ed him and maxed him out, but that was only because i had him P1 anyway, so i went for it for the memes.

at this current point in time i do not regret any Prestige though. im aiming for maxing out everyone after all, so everyone is going to get their turn eventually.

  • i dont understand eigther.

i dont necessarily mind the explosion spam stopping, but they havent addressed the problem T3 has where T1 is more accurate in the information it provides you with...

  • depends on my mood.

if i want to tryhard, i'll run Sprintburst / Dead Hard + Iron Will + Decisive Strike + Kindred

if i want to just farm some stuff, i'll run Iron Will + Kindred + Plunderers Instinct + Ace In The Hole

and sometimes i just feel like running a meme build.

  • removing them is something i wouldnt like, as ive been investing hundrets of thousands of BP into just red moris, which i would hate to just lose by them being disabeled.

dont worry though, Moris (and Keys aswell) are confirmed to be on the list of things the Devs want to look at and change.

  • that is a question i simply can not answer, for the simple fact that there are a lot of different ways a SWF can play.

some are fun to play with, some are not.

some are just a couple of friends playing together, some are a bully squad and some are tournament level tryhards.

i would like to know when i faced a SWF in the end though, just for knowing it.

cause sometimes you meet some really really good solo survivors, but everyone just assumes that "they must be a SWF", which kinda takes some credit away from them i feel like.

  • @Sluzzy said:

It is always easy to ignore stats and claim they are bad if they don't match your beliefs or your role. But the truth of the matter is, stats are most likely accurate and it shows a very bad unbalanced game where one side completely overshadows the other.

though these stats provided vastly differ from any of my gameplay experience, as survivor and killer, aswell as from any content creators experience ive been witnessing.

0.16 gens repaired on average (given OPs numbers are correct) is exceptionally low and, at least in my (high rank) games, extremely unlikely to ever happen. that would mean that the killers kill all 4 survivors before a single gen is repaired in majority of their games, which cant be right, at least not in high ranks (i know down in the low ranks killers can dominate survivors relatively easily, but even for that 0.16 gens on average seems very low)

even when i, as the killer, absolutely dominate the survivors, they get an average of 2 to 3 gens done. heck, by the time you get your first hook they usually already got a gen done / have multiple progressed to the point where you can only defend one and need to let the others go.

so 0.16 seems very very unrealistic to me and needs to be heavily influenced by lowrank numbers or simply false.

that would imply that eigther the numbers dont say anything about high level play (and should therefore not influence balancing decisions all that much), or that the number 0.16 is wrong and eigther OP or the Devs made a mistake.

your conclusion that killers were way too oppressive is something that is only taken out of these stats, yet does not at all resemble the actual gameplay experience, which is why stats like those can be very dangerous, as they usually get people to draw conclusions from them that might differ greatly from how the game actually is - in low ranks you might be right, that killers are a powerrole that has quite an easy time, but in high ranks that conclusion is the opposite of whats actually going on.

your comment implies that said oppressive role (killers) needs to be nerfed heavily to create a balanced game. it makes sense that you'd think that, but such a decision would probaply end up breaking high rank gameplay.

and high rank gameplay should imo be taken as the balancing standart, as everyone is going to end up there at some point - and i wouldnt like one side being basically invincible / unbeatable after reaching a certain skill level.

  • i just wanna get an indicator for who was SWFing with who in the end result screen.

thats all i really ask for...

I used to play alot of spy hes really fun but i wouldnt say hes not strong its just that in a coordinated enviroment his tools become extremely weak after the first pick.

yeah you're right Spy is not weak, but he does suffer from all the stuff that such a killer would suffer from here aswell.

coordination, teamwork, gamesense and, worst of all, being called out eigther with the team chat or comms. his entire kit is based around being sneaky and acting unnoticed, with great rewards (instakill) waiting for him if he can do that, but harsh punishments (near death experiences) should he be found out.

and if we're being honest, Sniper outclasses Spy in basically everything.

He has an always available oneshot (headshot / zoomed in headshots deal enough damage to kill anyone fired at) and he doesnt even need to get himself in danger for that ability. (though spy is great for calling out enemy defense setups, which would be more of a passive role)

as you said, Spies usually get killed right after they get a pick. granted, they dont need to have a large open space for them to work, but after a knife kill you are left vulnerable - no disguise, loud scream from the guy you stabbed and you're probaply in the middle of the enemy forces.

So he isnt "bad" (i dont think TF2 has any bad classes tbh, they all have their thing going for them that makes them unique and strong), but he is not fit for an competetive environment eigther (which is why you rarely see Spies in the small competetive scene TF2 has)

and to get back on topic of this post: such a killer would be suffering the same problems as Spy in those scenarios. he cant enter a place with the original around, strange movement patterns would be noticed by good players and SWF can immediately call him out, hardcountering the entire kit.

from a gameplay perspective, he would be very similar to Ghostface, now that i think about it...

  • its still a horror themed game, but as @GoodBoyKaru said above, overexposure takes the scariness away, so it shifts more to a competetive type of game.

thats what happens to all horror games though.

take me for example, i got ~4000 hours of playtime right now. with that amount, i know exactly what characters do, how maps are set up and when to do certain actions. i wont get scared by the atmosphere anymore, simply because ive seen it so many times. and the same applies to killers.

that doesnt mean i wouldnt get surprised by jumpscares from time to time or start getting uncomfortable when there is a ghostface and i have no idea what he is doing, while being in a spot where i can hardly view much of the map on a gen thats getting close to being done, but its hardly scary anymore.

  • all the older maps.

Autohaven Wreckers, Coldwind Farm, Crotus Prenn Asylum, Badwater Swamp, Lampkin Lane, and the list goes on.

for which one they decide to update first, i honestly dont know.

i'd guess Autohaven or Coldwind, however as seen with the Doctor they can also go out of order and update a map together with a Killer.

i am lowkey hoping for Lampkin Lane to be honest. updated graphics together with a rebalancing of that map would be amazing!

  • introducing:

    "the Mickey Mouse DLC"

with your unique Killer Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as the Survivor!

    i would pay for that.

  • all.

i want all perks to be combined into one.

please make it happen BHVR xD

it would be an aazing April Fools joke, dont you think?

  • thats something you'd want to report to in the Bug Reports section, no?

and if the community hadnt abused the DC option as much as they did, we wouldnt have this system now.

sadly there are those who DCed for literally anything (and they were not exactly a small number) - they dislike the map, killer, Add Ons, Offerings, someone went down too fast, they went down, the first gen didnt pop fast enough, they want their mate to get hatch, etc.

its this communities own fault this is a thing. and i wouldnt want it to get lifted again if im being honest, as those players would simply return to their old patterns of DCing whenever something doesnt go their way.

  • you should report them anyway, just in case.

they do see the reports after all, so i bet if enough different players report the exact same person for cheating they will get suspicious and act on that aswell.

like, if a single account has been reported like 50 times for cheating by different people in a short timespan (a day or two), that should ring some alarms.

Yes the 1-2/20 matches a day i kill myself on hook are why the rest of my team dies.

the amount of matches you do it is unimportant.

its about when you do it - doesnt matter whether thats every 2nd game, every 3rd or 1/2 in 20.

but once you do it, everyone else in that match gets an miserable experience.

the killer is camping you? then wait out the two freaking minutes and buy the rest of your team a chance!

you not doing that allows the killer to immediately leave the hook and go for somoene else, who he can facecamp just like he did with you. at this point however there wont be enough survivors to just to gens, so the killer gets an undeserved victory (at least a 3k) and the rest of your team gets the same miserable experience you had earlier - all thanks to you.

this is a team game. and at some point you gotta take one for the team. people who dont end up dooming everyone else.

A bubba face camping me in the basement.... most times in that situation the team dies trying to rescue from a face camping bubba in a basement. lol my time is more valuable then sitting on a hook for 2 minutes.

I dont really care about him getting what he wants lol he WANTS to get everyone in the basement, cause he’s gonna get another one hooked anyway so he gets his cycle of torment

and its exactly that mindset that gets the rest of your team killed aswell.
