Depends on the killer.
-
It's almost a must have for me.
You can't rely on your teammates not go down, so having BT is good insurance.
-
That's because you never know if you're going to get a sweaty survivor team.
Some people have suggested taking the game less seriously and that's actually good advice.
Just don't let yourself become complacent with poor balance.
-
That would be awesome actually. The game might get some decent devs for once.
Not sure who though.
Maybe CD Projekt Red. They're usually pretty engaged with the community.
-
DS can clearly be abused yet people still defend it lol.
-
They really need to give Bubba some love. He's been the weakest killer for like two years now.
-
The devs refuse to admit that optimal survivors are a problem balance-wise.
-
I can't wait till people start encountering the survivors that know how to stay spread out and do gens fast. It's gonna be funny.
-
Not many people are brave enough to admit this.
-
It depends who you ask.
Employees might like working there but that doesn't mean BHVR is managing their games well.
-
Definitely being in a chase with the killer.
It's not as exhausting as playing killer, but it does require quite a bit of effort (especially if the killer is skilled).
-
Unless the devs rework all the unfair maps (which won't happen) and address the SWF problem (also won't happen), Ruin should not be touched.
That's what needs to happen for me to accept the Ruin change.
But who are we kidding? The devs are just going to push this Ruin change through and that will be it.
-
I played it a few months and it was pretty fun.
I think I actually prefer survivor in that game.
-
You just gave all the devs hives.
-
It's pretty sad honestly.
-
At this point, I have no idea whether all this is intentional or not.
Either way, I'm very disappointed in the devs.
-
Most of us who have been here a while already knew this.
-
Yeah, I can't stand quitting.
Even though I've gotten some really bum deals, I almost always keep pushing forward.

I've explained that many times in the thread, it's because people use him as an example of "killers that 4k without ruin, so if you don't 4k without ruin you're just bad".
It's because they want the Ruin change to stay. The devs have basically made survivor easy mode now and the survivor mains are desperate to keep the new Ruin changes.
It's sad, but that's our community for you.
-
I don't even understand why people are talking about Otz to begin with. He's not a god tier killer or anything.
He's fun to watch but that's about it.

Legitimate infinite loops were a core issue. I'd argue pallet vacuum was a core issue. I'm not saying something doesn't need done about gen times. But they have addressed core issues along the way. Not as quickly as we'd have liked. But they have made strides in that area.
Sorry but map design is still garbage.
The newest map can have a jungle gym spawn right next to the shack.
These devs have learned nothing. As such, they deserve all the criticism they're getting.

@Mister_Holdout if this happends is gonna be impossible to use ds, all killers slug you for avoid ds and you guys want it to disable when is hooked??
my god
What are you talking about?
If you are repairing gens or unhooking other survivors then you aren't being tunneled. Survivors shouldn't get protection for that.
DS is supposed to prevent the killer from immediately coming back to the hook and re-hooking a survivor. DS gives you protection in order to get healed, but if you decide to do something else then you don't get the protection.
It's really simple.
-
Deactivation conditions are needed, yes.

If they didn't listen BL would never have been nerfed. Or insta heals. Not to mention a host of other things. I'm not saying their response time is the best. Nor do they make the best choices, I disagree completely with the ruin change actually. But we also don't know everything they have planned for the future either. They could have more changes that will make the Ruin nerf make sense. Even if they don't personally attacking them is not okay. Expressing your dissatisfaction is one thing. Going on the warpath is another.
I specifically said core issues. BL and insta heals only exacerbated the core issues.
People used Ruin because it somewhat remedied the garbage map design.
And when the devs nerfed Ruin, it was like saying: "we don't care about the core issues with DbD, we just want to make the game easier for new survivors."
Obviously, if you're a veteran player you can imagine how disheartening that logic is.

I understand where you're coming from when it comes to being impatient and attacking devs, I just don't agree with it being okay. We can agree to disagree my friend.
I think you and I have a different definition of attacking.
Saying that the devs are biased and incompetent are fair criticisms in my opinion.
However, if we were attacking them personally with nasty insults and making serious threats, then yeah I agree that's unacceptable.
But for the most part, most of us are attacking how the devs are managing this game.

Which is a problem in my opinion. There's a way to speak to and address people, and the ways that I see are not okay. But my opinion is just my opinion which is why me and my fellow brethren are in this safe little thread taking cover and eating pretzels.
The problem is the devs don't listen when it comes to core issues with the game. We've been telling them their game is a mess for ages now.
I repeat: They just don't listen.
At some point, you begin to think there is something seriously wrong, which is why people have lost all patience.

We understand, we just don't want to be apart of the aggressive attacking. I'd like to remain under the table please.
From what I've seen, a lot of the "aggressive attacking" has been directed toward the devs.
Which is no surprise when you consider what they did.
-
The devs haven't been this blatant with their bias in a long while.
Which is why people are so upset right now.
-
Sorry, but some of us become quite displeased when the devs announce horrible balance updates.
-
I wonder how long before NOED gets nerfed.
-
They aren't going to. People actually believe this game is relatively balanced.
Spoiler: It's not.
-
well-memed šļø
-
Yes.
The devs have a track record of being biased toward survivors.
-
If the devs cared they would have fixed the core issue with this game a long time ago.
-
Summed it up perfectly.
-
It depends on what the devs do from now on.
I can already tell you that their reputation has been quite damaged just by announcing the Ruin changes.
We'll have to see if all this backlash serves as a wake up call for the devs. Honestly, I'm not optimistic.
-
At least one good thing has come of this.
The memes have been hilarious.
-
-
Yep, pretty much lol.
I'm expecting the fallout to be quite hilarious.
-
I still think the worst change they ever made was removing the timing requirements for pallet and flashlight saves.
But yeah, this one is bad too.
-
I honestly didn't see this one coming lol.
I've seen the devs make some bad changes but this one is up there with the worst.
-
I try to be patient with the devs.
But it gets pretty hard when they constantly make huge blunders.
-
So you expect us to trust that the devs will rework how fast survivors can complete the objective in the upcoming months?
...
On a serious note, you know how I know the devs are still clueless when it comes to balance? They keep releasing these garbage maps that are horrible to play on.
The newest map can have a jungle gym spawn next to the shack. And you think that's balance?
-
I was prepared to stop supporting the devs after what they did to Nurse. But then shortly after they released that smokin Julie skin.
Devs are more clever than we think.
But yeah, I've just about had it with all this "balance"
-
Gonna have to start slugging extra hard from now on.
Darn shame.
-
I don't even know what to say.
Except for this:
-
I don't use it on Billy. And I can play Nurse without Ruin as well.
For the rest of my killers I like to use Ruin.
