sounds like you are just unable to appreciate the value of some perks if they aren't blatantly unfair. im also feeling like your definition of "killing" perks is taking away that unhealthy interaction. im almost sure if I dig into your post history, ill find you complaining about mft nerf, saying how they "killed" the perk.
i listed the usages of for the people in this thread which every sane person would agree are fine and make this perk decent in certain scenarios. it doesnt need zero valid counterplay unfair synergy with another perk to be viable.
Oh noooo

this might be a bit wild thought for you, but it's fine if devs kill perks, because they're just perks, not actual characters with abilities people get invested in and buy skins for.
if a perk is unhealthy and there's no fixing it without a really deep rework, it's better off dead or nerfed so hard, it's unviable, rather than kept because "muh muh we cant just kill perks". no, we can and we will, because people will just pick other perks that might be just a bit more healthier for the game.
No, it's not fine to kill perks. At least they need to be viable.
Like there is zero reason to use For the People if you don't have Buckle Up. This just shows For the People needs buff if we are gonna nerf this combo. But you are free to disagree, i am not gonna try to change your mind.
-
@Raconteurminator said:
Saying Buckle Up and For The People only shine when used together is like saying gasoline and a spark only shine when they're together. They do more than shine, they're downright disastrous and unhealthy. It doesn't matter if it's a two-perk combo, the resultant effect leads to scenarios where it's literally impossible to counter.
If For the People is useless by itself, the answer is to buff it and make it stand on its own as a perk.
I am fine if they buff both perks to be viable by their own. But i am not with the people who just want to kill these perks.
Rght now, if BHVR break this combo both perks will be garbage to use alone. If they take care this problem, i am not against to nerf this combo.

If you look at a video otzdarva made about the toolbox nerf you will see that the nerf to BNP basically did really little... I think the whole rarity thing is a whole issue on itself because it somewhat justifies overly strong things to still exist... Just think about the huge amount of time a syringe safes you... 16-32 seconds of gen time if you think about it... That is really a lot. I just think in general items should not change the base values of things that much and should not safe such a huge amount of time.
Also you literally said toolboxes are not strong as before, so you did exactly say that and it still is not true think about how much time you save by bringing a commodus with charge addons and tell me that is not strong, if you bring perks to help with it you can cut the Gen time in half. How exactly is that not strong? (btw I'm not even saying you need to bring 4 perks with it, you can to make it even more effective but just with 1 or 2 perks you already cut the Gen time down significantly more than without.
We can argue about it for sure but you would need to explain me how it fine that items safe you like half the time of a Gen just like that... That is ridiculous. Not saying it was better before, it was even worse but that's not a reason to say it is fine now.
Yes toolboxes are not strong as before. Years ago, they were busted items to go against. I remember these days and right now, i don't have any problem with toolboxes.
-
I usually go for saves, even it means i will die. That's one of the moments i really enjoyed, sorry for bad quality of video. It was my first try of clipping. And app was not great either.

Nah i love it. Because it always make me to get my fav maps. Sometimes i am getting maps i dislike too but it's fine.

Toolboxes didn't get touched lately and still decrease the time to finish a Gen massively, and syringes still safe you a lot of time, you don't necessarily need to use it in chase, you can just use it and sit on a Gen... So nobody needs to use time to heal... To say they re both not strong is really not true.
I never said they are not strong. I said they don't need any nerf. Syringe is red add-on, so ofcourse it should be strong. But this does not make it busted. It's on good state.
And toolboxes nerfed already before. They are fine now. And they nerfed BNP as well.
-
I am getting hard matches, please nerf survivors more.
And everything you asked nerf is just fine. Toolboxes are not strong as before. Syringe is not insta-heal, it still gives you room and time to hit survivor and decline value.
If you are having hard matches, maybe your mmr is just so high and you are not belong here. At this point, you will need to adapt or you will take some loses and then you will face with people who close to your skill.
I don't know when we will stop to ask survivor nerfs.
-
After survivor unhooked, infection should not progress at all. Maybe until they make any conspicuous action.
Tunnelling is strategy, fine but this does not mean devs should hold Wesker's hand and help him with tunnelling.
Ofcourse i am talking about passive progress, killer player can use his power to progress infection is fine but it should not progress passively if killer never used his power after survivor unhooked.
-
Not really. If you know what to do.
Camper Bubba is not effective as before. PTB Trickster however... He gives me nightmares
-
Nah
They just should rework Nurse and nerf Blight. There is no reason to ban perks for them. Because these changes won't effect high level players while your average Blight will suffer
-
Yeah this is so annoying honestly. Make locker enter/leave activation different button or just don't put lockers next to vaults.
-
I mean you will pay for any online game, it's not on BHVR. It's just Sony and Microsoft are still selling online services in 2023 , it should be free
-
Force him m1 which means use vaults pretty often. His weakness comes from vaults.
And don't waste pallets so much because Bubba is pretty much eating them.

Depends on their opinion on the horror genre.
I think the biggest selling point of dbd is the variety of characters and places the game offers.
You can chase Ripley and Ash as Myers on Hawkins while Bill is being camped by Bubba on Gideon meat plant.
That's what brings people in. The gameplay makes them stay or leave in the long run.
If they are heavily interested in the genre, sure. I would recommend checking dbd out.
If they are only here for gameplay, I would describe it and tell them that the game gets very repetitive if they do t want to put hundreds / thousands of hours into it.
At least Bubba can't camp anymore

Are you kidding me? Like trapper's power is not weak enough, you also have to be super precise or it won't work? That's lame
Just wait for wrong trap placement on pallet and watch them passing your trap while you are stepping on it :d
Yeah, Trapper is bad. I mean so bad. Weakest killer in game. You should play Wraith if you are new, his power is decent and fun.
-
It's working fine right now but yeah, i don't know how they broke female vaulting and i don't know why it took so long to fix.
It was pain to play female survivors.

It’s a lot of fun if you can push through the steep learning curve. Game can be as casual as you want it to be.
DbD's biggest matchmaking problem is you can be casual but then matchmaking can you send against pretty sweaty people. We really need ranked and casual mods.
They can add some rules and limits for ranked matches for make them fair and balanced. I am all for it.
-
I really don't remember but i played with and against with some of popular streamers ( Ayrun, Tru3, Otz ). So maybe one of them but probably i played with someone higher, i really don't check their hours.

I would not recomend this game tbh.
Start from 0 right now without perks, ingame guides and the insane amount knowledge you need to learn its rought.
It has to be someone thsat i know can endure hard stuff and is capable of learn.
This game is definetly not new player friendly.
I believe at this point they should add some old characters to main game. Kate and Feng are obvious choices for survivors since they have nice perks especially for new players.
Clown has good perks and easy power. So he is also good choice for killers. Things like that tho.
And i really believe BHVR should make tutorial videos for all killers, like how you play them and how you play against them. Nothing big, maybe 1 - 2 minutes. This could help new players so much since they have to learn about +30 killers.

SB, Lithe and most of the other exhaustion perks are fine. MFT was a problem for many reasons like: it could stay active almost the whole match, it had a very strong effect, specially against the weaker killers; it could be combined with other strong perks without a problem.
I hope we don't get more annoying busted perks for any side any time soon. Its bad to the game health.
We already have one: Ultimate Weapon
-
Because generators are the most boring part of the game. Gen perks are also boring.
-
@Ryuhi said:
Threadly reminder that the majority of the player base (on both sides) has no problems with SB or lithe.
SB and Lithe are not meta for long time. We had Dead Hard meta for long time. After DH gutted, we got MfT. So SB and Lithe did not stay as meta perks for long enough.
We will see real reactions pretty soon but i am hoping you are right. I don't wanna get all fun perks nerfed just because people don't enjoy against them.

First of all, yes it is. Just because it does not contain a reason for everyone to play but only for a small portion it is a reason nontheless. Second if you loose your mmr should become lower, therefore getting a slightly worse opposing player, at some point you will get balanced matches, just because the number the other guy has is higher than your and you still get matched does not necessarily mean the game is unbalanced... Let me explain... So lets say killer has 2800 mmr and you have 2500 mmr going into the match, you are actually playing at that given number of 2500 in the sense of you are that good ok. So if you loose some games because the better guys were to good you will maybe end up at a lower mmr after some time your mmr will be 2200, the killer now will be 2500 mmr, and now you are at the point where despite the mmr difference the killer is actually at your skill level. All this thing would do is inflate mmr for some people.
Many people lose most of their soloq games and still keep playing and most people don't really care about winning or losing because it is mostly about fun, sure if you get stomped every match it might get annoying, but as long as the chases are good who cares.
Also as for the part of them losing and losing, eventually they will win, either because they get a busted map or because their mmr is low enough so that they go against someone of equal skill. Overall I don't know if in the long run the whole concept would even work, because what it would do is just make matchmaking become more inaccurate for some time until you have a somewhat equal standing again.
I am just glad BHVR devs did not lose their mind yet to make matchmaking like that. Unless they wanna kill their game.
You need 4 survivors and one killer for one match. For every killer player, you will need 4 survivor players. So majority of players need to be survivors if you want to make game survive.
If matchmaking like that happen, kill-rates will rise because killer player will always get some survivor who has less skills. Right now, if you win your mmr will go to up. And after some wins, you will face someone who has equal skills with you. And this is where you will lose some matches.
If they make something like Scott's matchmaking, you will never get equal skilled players with you. This means you will keep win but you will never get good teams. And i highly doubt people will play survivor when it's only lose for them. Queues will be insanely long for killers because who would play survivor when you know it's auto-lose. I would not.
So system like that never gonna happen and should never happen anyway.

You asked how to make people play survivor... And I gave you a reason what might motivate people to play survivor... So it is kind of the question you asked.
No it is not.
Even if you get better, you will always go to against someone who is better than you. That's what is Scott suggesting.
And my question was that, how you will make people play survivor when they lose and lose.
If you don't have actual answer , please don't mention me again.

If you want to learn how to loop it is more beneficial to play against people betterr than yourself.
That's not the question i asked.
-
So as survivor i will go to killer who is much better than me. Most likely i will lose. Then i will go to against another killer who is better than me. I will lose again. This will repeat.
So can Scott explain to us, if matchmaking was like that how he would make people play survivor?

Add a breakable wall between the two vaults in the Myers house, and ensure only one window spawns on the long wall in the corner house, and it's fine for killer.
Maybe revise the gen spawn conditions so you don't get three in the road, and survivors should be ok.
Road is still dead zone after these changes, it's big and no loops on it

As Nemmy main i don't think anything wrong with his whip. It's just working fine. He also can move his whip a bit after used power which gives him chance to get hits.

Yeah slugging is boring. I love to hook as fast as i can and then get information from BBQ and go for next target.

It would be conflicting though, if killers and survivors were equally strong in the 1v1. I mean, imagine David going against Nemesis and beating him or even just barely losing. How would that make sense the next time he gets chased by him in the base game?
I'm not against the idea of a DBD themed fighting game but they'd have to find a way around the conflicting implications here.
Nemesis is licensed, i meant og characters only.
But Entity is power role here, she would give some powers to survivors. And some humanoid killers (Legion, SM) as well.

Reminds me why I stopped watching DBD content creators.
But yeah, the panic is real, high skilled players realized that there are high skilled survivors in pub matches. Poor preferential matchmaking spoiled folks.
Doesn't change anything, SBMM is still complete and utter garbage at putting similarly skilled people against one another.
I don't know if they tweak'ed mmr but i highly doubt. But what is happens i think, casual players ( mostly survivors ) are leaving DbD since they have not fun anymore.
Like dying is fine but when you just lose and lose countless times, it's no longer fine anymore. Every match killer is tunnelling someone out and then getting their easy 4Ks. Solo and casual SWFs are not getting enough wins. It's really not surprising me to see BP bonus on survivor most times.
More casual leaves DbD = More sweaty survivors you will face. Nature of matchmaking.

I'd genuinely love to see DBD characters show up in fighting games. Maybe BHVR could even have a dedicated one made like the upcoming PvE and Supermassive games...
DbD already has a lot killers and even some survivors would make sense ( David, Haddie ) in fighting game. I'd like to see this genre game for DbD.
Survivor sacrifices was not enough for Entity, so she decided make killers fight with each other as well.

Good looping and decent map pressure.

Distortion can easily counter aura perks and calm spirit totally blocks killer perks that make survivors scream. Are both of them not good design? And how is removing hemorrhage from Sloppy is not nerfing Sloppy? I think you are contradicting yourself. But I would like to see buffing Solidarity, Resurgence, and Reactive Healing by not being affected by Hemorrhage.
Distortion and Calm Spirit are coming with risks. If killer has no aura perk or scream perk, you wasted your perk slot. Distortion is limited with tokens and you need to reload them. Calm Spirit is giving you penalty for some actions. So i would not say these perks are bad design and i actually believe Calm Spirit is pretty garbage perk atm.
And again, i gave 2 options. Only one of them is suggesting remove hemorrhage. I am also asking buff these perks because obviously they are so bad right now. When Hemorrhage is one of the most popular effects in game, there is zero reason to bring one of the these perks. So i am asking to fix this problem for make these perks viable. And we can do this with 2 ways: Nerfing Sloppy Butcher or buffing these perks.
I don't know why this is so hard to understand for you tho.
-
@Astel said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3587998#Comment_3587998
No. Sloppy Butcher and Hemorrhage should stay same as it is. Sloppy nerf would be another M1 killer nerf again, and I don't want to see survivors rushing gens with 99% heals and resilience.
One perk is destroying 3 different survivor perks atm and it's not good design. And i did not say nerf Sloppy. I said remove Hemorrhage from Sloppy or buff these perks so they won't lose progress. So my suggestion is fix problem with these perks. There is zero reason to use these perks atm when most killers are using Sloppy Butcher or add-ons which have same effects.
-
Hearmorhage need to be removed from Sloppy Butcher and then this perk will be fine. Or at least make this perk don't regres your health progression.
Jill and Ada also have similar perks and similar issues. Nobody uses them for same reason.

Maybe there would be 7 or 8, if they didn't feel quite that bad to play. It's not hard to improve them in some way and they could squeeze something small like a reduction in cooldown into any patch. But they haven't done anything like this. And if they can sell skins for SM, a killer that is hated like nothing else, then it can't be that hard to do the same for Twins.
Just give us a little hat for Victor and you'll see the player counts of Twins rising! Give him Feng's bunny hoodie and I'll main Twins.
Well another reason comes to mind is Chucky. He is also short killer like Victor. And he is licensed, so no shard option. Giving attention to Chucky probably will make more money for them.
I'd play Twins more if i was not needed to walk all way with Charlotte for picking up. I am really hoping BHVR give them similar mechanic of Chucky's. The biggest reason i don't play Twins is that.
-
@Xernoton said:
I love your optimism but recent history has shown us that they don't have their priorities in the same order as we do. I mean, Sadako, Trapper, Skull Merchant (twice), Knight and Trickster got some big changes, while Twins are still in the same sad state they were 1 3/4 years ago. When they were to be the next killer after GF / Legion to get a rework.
It seems that they have either given up on Twins or just have them very low on their list of priorities. Blight is probably in a similar spot. He works good enough and the announcement to remove hug tech was more than a year ago (I think). After that, there weren't any news regarding him. Also, Hug Tech might be a symptom of a necessary quality of life feature for him. So it wouldn't be easy to fix this. Imagine Blight getting stuck on anything and everything that's even remotely close. It would make him borderline unplayable.
I expect some more Freddy nerfs. Haven't had those in a while. Maybe his teleport should no longer charge when no survivor is asleep. Or how about slowing him down to 0.8 m/s while he charges a snare and increase that time to 5 seconds? Oh and you can't cancel it once you started. Don't want you trying to mind game with this. I'm joking but given the long list of small nerfs Freddy has suffered, I wouldn't be surprised to see some more.
I think they are not believe in Twins, just look Trickster and SM , they both got good changes. Because they know they can sell costumes for these two. But Twins? Yeah 5 Twins on the world will be happy about their rework.
