Old dbd would not have sustained for 10 years. Changes since then have been an effort to balance the game. I don't know about you, but I have more fun when the game feels balanced. I don't enjoy trampling my opposition and I don't enjoy getting completely stomped, I think most would agree with that.
Old dbd hinged on whether you had knowledge of the most busted tactics or not, and the fact that most players were new to the game. You would have zero player agency because the majority of the player base knows how to play the game and abuse the strongest builds.
-
Yeah, I think just making the dailies more interesting would relieve most of the problems with the new rift. Dailies that require you to use perks, killers, maybe some fun ones that have a time sensitive status effect one
-
Something to represent old COD zombies would complete me, now that we have RE, Silent Hill and FNaF.

Surviors die and leave the game one at a time. The killer will always be the last to reach the score board if they win, where dead survivors have left, and they will be last when they lose where all survivors have escaped. When all the survivors escape, they are likely to all be on the score screen and will have a superior group mentality against the killer, hence the gg ez prevalence and lack of ggs when they lose.
Not an us vs them issue, just human nature being disappointing again.

One does not need to know where the killer exactly is as long as one knows that the killer is chasing someone else.
And the most important question: what makes stalking the killer with cameras worth it, instead of sitting at a gen and progressing the game towards an escape?
It takes less than 10 seconds. More value than opening a chest, doing a dull totem, both things that solo ques will inevitably do when doing gens is more efficient.

I've been playing this game for just over 5 years, and I still cannot properly learn the position of the office, main area and exit gates. I used to love the map when I was newer but I'm lately rolling my eyes when I get this map, either side.
-
Scooby doo x Shaggy houndmaster legendary. We already got matthew lillard, just sayin
-
You're literally borrowing the killer's teleporting power and generating map-wide wall hacks for the whole team. What other killer powers allow you to do that? How much more rewarding do you want it to be??
-
I mean if you really lack the self-respect and control to not purchase the new switch then maybe you'll get a slightly higher performing version of the game running on it. My guess is it will still be inferior to the Xbone / Ps4 versions.
-
Kind of a no-brainer that killer props should have priority over chest spawns but here we are, so many years later.
-
It will always happen at least once for every 2 hours of gameplay for me, US West servers. It's usually my que to take a break and play another day. Dumb and discouraging. You don't even keep bloodpoints earned in the match let alone your items or addons you brought. No progress to your rift rituals, nothing.

Who is disappointed with Springtrap's Mori?
This image is fan edited.
My god. I think we can leave that imagery to the imagination. The mori gets the point acrost just fine.

I don't think I can recall whether Clock Tower has been on any of the recent surveys. The series has been completely dormant for so long and the fanbase is either tiny, extremely quiet or both. I love Clock Tower too, but it might be a little too niche to be worth making a full chapter for.
As one of the earliest forms of survival horror however, it totally deserves to be here.
-
BHVR is historically pretty good at including lots of diverse peoples and cultures in the game. I wouldn't be shocked to see direct representation in future original chapters. I do love that about DBD, there's something for everyone, and if it isn't there yet, it probably will be soon.
-
I know we're getting official stats soon, so I don't see this as unreasonable.
-
######### 50 dollars for a deep rift variant, you'd seriously pay that? This is why the industry gets away with such predatory micro transaction models.
-
Dumb names, somehow worse than jolt, fearmonger and claustrophobia.
-
Why include epic? Is it too much to ask to have a break from cheaters when testing the new content
-
I feel very perk reliant when playing M1s. Heavy gen regression, Bamboozle, and stealth perks if no stealth built into the killer.
-
Interesting, for me it's always Marlton making the big plays while Misty limps around Z-walls (get it?).
-
Sounds good for killer, but consider the survivor perspective. Imagine being stuck at a tile at the corner of the map with the killer deciding to just stand on the pallet for 5 seconds, then easily beating you before you make to the other side like they got 5 seconds of bloodlust tier 2 for free.
Nice idea, but would also need some kind of activating condition to make that scenario fair, and now the perk is so bad its pick rate will just stay the same despite the effort put into reworking it.

Certainly, but once the code is written, its easier to implement next time. But its basicly a feature for veterans, which is the type of reward which could be given to high invested players. This is what the whole P100 reward discussion is about.
Now if you take that, vs other rewards suggested. like cosmetics and charms then it may be worth it to make more types of rewards than going to town on the cosmetic team, so the animation team could shoulder the burden here.
P100 rewards are such a hard sell since they generate no revenue for bhvr. Unless, they discover a way to monetize the grind, akin to buying your way through the rift. Kudos for the creativity, but I fear for what ever mobile game style consequences will come with more interesting rewards for veteran players.

Kill switch? Who needs it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cute, but seems like a lot of work something so few people would see, outside of youtube

You say it. It takes still so ######### long to open chests. I would probably make them 6 seconds, because 4 feels kinda fast.
Well, just as a thought experiment, how would the balance be affected if the chest opening was literally instant (Just the chest opening animation)? To me, its no different than starting the match with the best combo item and addons that you want. The chest item is random, has no addons, so no guarantee you get something useful. And to reiterate my point earlier, bringing chest perks to make these items better just takes the slots of potentially game changing meta perks, ie exhaustion to extend a chase just long enough for a gen to pop, anti-tunnel perks to avoid an early death.
I really think you could giga buff chests and it would affect nothing with the balance, just make survivor matches more interesting. Theres nothing in the chests that will be stronger than items a team can bring themselves for free, useable at the start of the match.
-
So survivors should be literally invincible when they are unhooked.. I think there are probably better solutions than that.
-
You mean OLD tinkerer. Unfortunately, there is no chance of this perk coming back. Not only would it not work at all with some of the killer roster, but it would also break the tuned balance of killer powers (again). I doubt BHVR wanted to account for tinkerer for the rest of their development of every subsequent killer.
-
Agree with everything here. When chest opening time was decreased from 10 to 8 seconds, I was shocked by how bad it still felt. Chests are still by far a wasteful detriment of a survivor's time, and bring chest related perks is just making you a weak link to the team. Why bother with chests and their perks if you can bring the strongest item and addon combo every game WITH 4 meta perks?
With your changes suggested, this will still be an issue, but its a much bigger step in the right direction than just barely reducing the chest opening time. Personally, I think they should take the same amount of time to open as RE chest, about 4 seconds max.
-
Why? He's anything but uncounterable. As a p100 nemesis I can promise you that survivors are fully capable of mind gaming and looping me despite my higher-than-average practice with the big guy. I've stated before that his counterplay is no different than huntress with less range and higher movement speed. On top of that, 3 health states?? Zombies are easily destroyed by anyone bringing a flashlight, head on, any means necessary, taking advantage of the weak ai, using lockers, or just wasting weak pallets.
-
Agreed, way too bright. Original Coldwind looked so much better.
-
Make 2v8 truly causal and make it a 10-survivor queue. When readying up you choose 2 killers (a 1st and 2nd choice to account for duplicates) and a survivor, and when the match loads 2 killers are randomly assigned from the 10 survivors. DCing will guarantee you will be a survivor next match. If a duo survivor becomes a killer, both players will be killer for the match.
-
Easy solution, being in the smoke from fog crystals gives killers the blindness status effect.

Whats stopping you from playing killer on 1v4? In my region it takes around 2 minutes or less to get a game…What region are you in?
Killer queues are easily 10 minutes and up US west, evening time when I'm able to play.
-
The devs have stated in the past that the bubble is an intentional design AND balance choice. It is meant to show you where an event occurs, yes, but is also meant to briefly obscure the direction of travel for the killer after a hook, and survivors after completing a gen.
-
Love it, Arkham batman was my childhood but, Batman as a survivor in dbd would be one of the most unnatural uncanny and disrespectful portrayals of his character I think in any media he would ever appear in.
-
Nah. He just needs a proper cooldown after his swing (should not be able to cancel the power mid swing to reduce the cooldown even more) and a reduction to his power vault speed. Making his base move speed slower even to 4.4 would feel like trash to play. And 4.0? This aint no nurse my friend
-
Umm, its creative but definitely not realistic. Not "realistic" in being plausible in the real world, but "realistic" in terms of the scope of BHVR being able to adapt a water creature to the actual gameplay. I mean, would you be satisfied with a shark floating through the air all the time? Would it be realistic for BHVR to make every map appear as if it were under water every time Jaws is the killer? I guess it could be an effect similar to freddys dream world or dredges nightfall.
-
"Go next" ruins games. Stopping that WILL make the game more fun and bearable for all players. Unless youre a rage quitter, then I guess losing the ability to rage quit and ruin a game for four other people will make you sad. Personally, I rather BHVR cater the game toward the normal other 4 players and not the 1 rage quitting loser.
-
Ethan or Mia Winters would be a cool chapter with Jack Baker. That era of RE is sadly not represented in DBD yet. Still, Im grateful for the content that we do have. Never would I ever imagine Wesker himself as a killer.
-
Then we should be able to turn off the chase music. How are we supposed to track a healthy survivor in chase? You do realize that you're not supposed to just easily lose the killer in chase, right?
-
Lol, you want to bring a map offering to stack the odds in your favor, you can deal with the target on your back for doing it.
-
My normal build is Vigil, Botany, Sprint Burst and Leader. I just absolutely love how useful it is to have both Vigil and Leader, they seem to counter so many things with just a little teamwork, so versatile.
-
We're most likely getting two new walking dead survivors right after. Its fine to not have one for this chapter. We'll most likely get a legendary survivor anyway
-
Im sure there would be a way to reintroduce the hug tech with compensatory nerfs to the basekit. He needs the Kaneki nerf to token loss on pallet breaks. His cool down could be slightly longer too, and I think hug tech would be fine.
-
I think the regression limit should be removed, and regressed progress should be recovered while repairing at like 100% additional speed. In other words, survivors should be able to repair back to where the gen was at double speed, but at the normal speed after that progress is returned

We won't be able to fully address every single quality of life feature in these coming months, we're looking to address the most egregious issues that players are facing.
With regards to number 3, that's not a QoL feature, QoL should not heavily affect balance and having Sprint on a toggle is likely to do that, it would definitely buff Sprint Burst for example.
You're right, that isn't a quality of life issue, it's an accessibility issue. Why does one perk force all players to hold a button down all game for survivors
-
At p100 you get the infinite level 50 blood web. As long as you keep that at 100, I wouldn't mind being about to increase it indefinitely.
-
The game was an embarrassing flop. Every character completely insufferable. I'm happy a different original chapter will take it's place, or best case it won't waste the slot of a license. Justice for the immeasurable disappointment.
