The Japanese DBD account posted that they're looking into an uncounterable Vecna ability. It's not Mage Hand since that's already getting nerfed, so the only other option is FOTD.
@ad19970 Still think Vecna gonna be viable after this?

This was honestly one of the stupidest abilities they could have put in this event. Dont get me wrong, I love the event but putting in the ability to totally bypass the wiggle mechanic for the entire event was bad enough. Now the bug for that ability is literally game breaking. I posted earlier a clip where someone who did a flashlight save got teleported to a hook and killed. Someone else said pallet stunning the killer also teleported them to a hook.
Apparently pallets save and Flash saves also teleports them to hook

he already does crouch and 70% chance he will miss

Sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the event so far. Is there something in particular that people are doing that is ruining it for you?
Giving up on first hook has been an issue everyone talks about why are you keeping a mechanic that ruins matches for both the survivors teammates and the killer while preventing a bot from taking over

Whats with this burning hatred for this niche combo bro 😂they acting like this is old freddy aura reveal just use up the item and dump it in a corner or deadzone Survivors have full control over this combo, you can also just not bring items to nullify the combo

Slowdown itself is not that much of an issue. Stacked Slowdown is an issue. And sadly there is currently no way to prevent this, Killers can still stack Pain Res and PGTW and both have the same activation condition. Then there is Grim Embrace, which also just requires to hook a Survivor. And Deadlock, which does not require input at all.
All good Perks which are totally fine on their own, but become too much when used with 3 or 4 of them. Add to this things like Mangled Add Ons and you have even more Slowdown.
And as long as BHVR cannot prevent Killers from stacking Slowdown, the only way to combat this is to nerf the Slowdown-Perks, which makes them less useful on their own, but also lowers their strength when stacked. But ideally there is a range of good Slowdown-Perks, which just cannot be stacked with each other.
i mean there is a way to prevent this just not one players would like aka perk limitions theres enough perks in the game now to seperate them into categorys Killers: Slowdown/Regression/chase/exposed/info Survivors: Second chance/healing/progression/exhaustion. If Devs ignore the player backlash and just make perks not allow perk stacking the same category it would solve it.
@C3Tooth said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3738896#Comment_3738896
I dont think it work if categories them. Perks that do a single job are now out of idea, most perks nowaday are mixed with little things.
For example, you may prefer 2 slowdown perks that only focus on slowdowns, not 2 weaker slowdown with a little of info and something else. Or if survivors only allowed to use 1 Haste perk, they would only use Exhaustion and never use Hope.
What they need to do is hard limit. How much a Gen can be regressed, and how much total time regressed in a match.
Why not make chaos shuffle basekit? Everyone loved that gamemode then people cant purposely stack just pray for good rng
@Sarrif said:
Slowdown is not the issue. The issue has always been that for every killer you have the same amount of time needed for a gen. It should take max 65 seconds to repair a gen when you are going against a blight and something like 110 seconds against a trapper.
I kinda agree Mostly cause Trap killers like Trapper, Hag ,Singularity need prep time or slowdown to get value from their kit

Too many killers think their objective is to stop generators from popping but that’s not true. Your objective is to sacrifice all survivors. Defending generators is simply a means to an end. The longer generators take to get done, the more time you have to kill all the survivors.
MMR is based on kills only and not amount of generators left. My favorite matches of all time are the ones where survivors pop all gens in 6 minutes and I kill them all anyways.
You should NEVER be discouraged by losing gens, you should be picking which gens you to lose and which ones to keep. Certain gens aren’t worth defending and waste too much time. If MMR is doing its job correctly you should almost never be winning with 2+ gens left unless survivors make huge mistake or you’re playing Nurse or Blight lol.So tunneling and camping is the best strategy for this logic run an instadown killer to prevent saves while using slowdown perks to delay the survivors

@ratcoffee said:
Can't understand the philosophy of "oh no, 4 gens got done before I got my 4k, how terrible!"
Some of my favorite, most memorable games where I had the most fun, were games where I got a 4k by faking a walk-past the gen the last injures survivor was about to complete while carrying someone, or where I transformed an 8 hook 0k into an 11 hook 3k with blood warden, or it was otherwise incredibly close around the endgame.
I for one would much rather have a lot of games where I manage the win at 4-5 gens done. A win with 1 gen complete is generally a snoozefest stomp in my experience
Obviously we aint talking about that were talking about how fast 1-2 gens pop in first chase and how hopeless it is to comeback from it Devs just need to give killers a way to circumvent the dc penalty like survivors do if i can't have fun i want out same as go next survivors can

It would likely destroy any casual enjoyment of the game from a Survivor perspective, so I think saying it would be better for Killers is short-sighted. It'd be worse in the long run, as the only people left are going to be very dedicated players.
As for your suggestion:
I'm not sure that that's a good idea, especially without other adjustments to gen regression and tunneling/camping. Killers are already doing well, by and large, and buffing them further doesn't make much sense at this time; outside of individual adjustments and QoL at least.
Survivors also naturally get weaker throughout the match, so I'm not sure why you're wanting to double-down on that so much.
Just seems like punishing Casual players or Solo Q while not really affecting the better players at all.
Wait you want me to punish the better players for doing well and not getting hit?
Ok if a survivor throws more then 2 pallets without receiving a hit you become 10% hindred and exposed for 60 seconds

been getting that as well

- Trickster. He needs further buffing imo. Bamboozle is pretty much a must have on him. He also needs memento blades basekit. And other buffs would be appreeciated.
- Myers. Needs just updated. He was the 6th killer added and has barely been changed since.
- Freddy. Extremely boring killer. They basically neutralised this killer, he doesn't cause a problem but he isn't interesting for it.

Myers and Freddy badly need an update. Ghostface NEEDS his Reveal mechanic made less janky, and maybe given some more QoL or small buffs so he doesn't struggle as much. Knight, Singularity, and Doc need various kit aspects fixed. Xeno needs tail jank fixed but isn't high priority. Dredge has needed help involving how bad locker placements on maps can be for years now, but isn't high priority. Both Sadako and Xeno can have their TVs/Tunnels spawn in ways that can get them trapped in some maps and that IS high priority. Pyramid Head and Nemesis have trash addons save a couple. Wesker has a collision glitch after throwing Survivors sometimes. Nurse needs a total rework; her power is too strong and breaks the rules of modern DBD too much. Legion still has a "stuck" glitch involving Frenzying and pallets. Pinhead still has a camera FoV bug with his chains.
In short? A lot of Killers need QoL or some love.
pretty much agree

No need to make Vecna completely broken. And Vorpal Sword basekit for Mage Hand? That would just completely nullify the nerf to Mage Hand.
The Mage Hand nerf is fine, it will just allow survivors to have a bit more counterplay against it, but Mage Hand will still be a strong tool. And his other tools are also strong, no need to buff them. He is still going to be an A tier killer.
your heavily underestimating these nerfs this counterplay if his other tools are so strong like you say humor me and play 10 matches without using Mage hand you can use every other spell except MH Vecna is easily a high C low B tier killer and will become less popular and less picked then Singularity
@HolyDarky said:
Even with the upcoming nerf, Mage Hand will still be good and Vecna is by no means a D Tier killer. At the moment he is around -A ~ B Tier. Depending on how good survivors can adapt to him every thing can change.
Chests: No. Getting injured by RNG feels awful and survivors would either avoid the chests or hate Vecna for that.
Cooldown: No for free way too much. I think making the green Pearl addon basekit would be fair as it rewards Vecna for hitting survivors and so using spells right.
FOTD: yes
Fly: I think 4.5 - 5 sec would be enough
Sphere: year
DND is all about rng
@Archol123 said:
I don't think a longer flight duration or shorter cooldown on the spells is a bad idea. However the pallet break instead of the lift is actually terrible, the lift up just allows for better gameplay and utility and I don't want that gone.
lift is literally no different than a scamper situation
@CrowVortex said:
Does not need a reduction on spell cooldowns, already has 2 addons for that.
I believe mimics do injure if you fail the skill checks
Regarding flight, could be longer i guess but would rather have him not get stuck on low debris during it, some of the lower walls and pieces of crap scattered around the map.
Mage hand is fine , Only buff i would give it is to let it break breakable doors from a distance.
Flight of the damned i think is fine, could perhaps have the 4 skeleton's be random and have the lineup alternate being lower to the ground or normal elevation. left skelly normal, 2 middle skele's lower, right skele normal as an example. Or as another idea, an addon that has the skeleton's hold the survivor in place on near misses.
remove the skillchecks Dnd if you roll that 1 you should be punished just how DND works
-
@Kaitsja said:
FOTD is fine. Mage Hand getting nerfed isn't a big deal. It was buffed right out the gates alongside all the other buffs Vecna got to make his spells less clunky to use.

I definitely believe that giving up on the first hook screws up the stats. However, I struggle with the counterargument that "they're just bad" messes up stats. If the majority of the player base struggles with certain killers, add-ons, or aspects of the game, it seems dismissive to attribute that struggle to poor skill alone.
To try and explain what I mean- Imagine a class where only two students have low scores while everyone else is fine. It would be reasonable to assume those two students are just having personal difficulties. But if 75% of the class has low scores, it's more likely an issue with the teaching method, not the students.
Now the 40% survival rate and 60% kill rate is alright with me, It's good for killers to be in the power role, but stats show that even so-called "trash M1" killers perform well against most players. I don't think they're as weak as some claim (at least when it comes to majority of survivors that aren't in top 5%) regardless of personal opinions about survivor skill, because the stats support that.
It's not unreasonable to expect to make a few mistakes in a game without facing death every time, especially in a game that poorly explains strategies and counters. So, while I agree that stats involving first hooks do screw things up, I don't feel as if "skill issue, ur just bad" is a good enough reason to dismiss statistics.
Btw this isn't directed at you specifically/personally, it's just a counterargument I see often that I genuinely struggle to find compelling. Thank you for taking the time to offer your perspective! :)
Counter counterargument we agree giving up does skew the killrates but if you say its the teaching method than the students themselves Why is it only effecting freddy? Freddy main btw freddys kit isnt good compared to other m1 killers his op addons were nerfed long ago i can only assume he flourishes against bad player for the reason his killrate is so high

Wanting more is just entitlement. Killers are already dominating the game in every metric that actually matters. (And gens completed during your 4k is not a metric that actually matters)
Right since wanting things is entitlement then survivors clearly don't need anymore basekit BT antiface camp having and wanting anymore of that is peak entitlement

I'm ok with gen perks being nerfed as long as basekit kicking gets stronger in exchange
Good news then, since they already buffed the base kick twice and added an anti gen tap feature. All free, no perks required.
But you knew that already, since you listed exactly these things...
Not everything requires a compensation buff.
if your only giving us a 5% kick only useable 8 times per gen and gutting our 20% gen regression perks uh yeah we do need it 5% is so not enough in exchange

In your opinion, what are killers that "cannot win"? It's very confusing to see as many killers who are deemed "weak/trash" have some of the highest kill rates in the game, like Onryo, Freddy, Myers etc. (not saying they don't deserve some qol changes and thigns but they are successfull) The lowest kill rate (doctor) is still winning 50% of the time. Even kill streaks are obtainable with some of these killers, like Twins has like a 800 something win streak as well. So which killers are you referring to that survivors want to go against that cannot win?
We call this the Freddy conundrum despite freddy being an m1 killer with a super safe TP and a slow that can only be used when asleep boasts a 63% Killrate how does he have such a high killrate? My opinion? I think its a combination of Solo Q nightmare + meta perks carrying. Solo Q survs definitely inflate stats by either just being bad/uncoordinated/messing around or giving up on hook it sucks how frequent it is btw meanwhile the killer freddy is using a meta loadout trying to win every game

Just like the celebration when people get touch downs and win their sporting events people get excited here. It's sad many here dont understand basic sportsmanship. Your happiness is directly correlated to their losing/winning to be mad at how people express the excitement is in your words "peak" saltiness.
I personally don't even wait at the gates past finding out that everyone made it there safe but I'm not entitled to think my will should be forced on others like the people in this thread it's not my sand box I don't get to dictate how people play or celebrate and neither can you
