They're all tyrants so he can have all the tyrants as skins.
Yeah but they're different kinds of tyrants though. First tyrant didn't have tentacles, he instead had a massive claw to shred things with. Would look really jenky having a big claw with a tentacle popping out of it and never actually using the claw itself.
-
What about this going on more M1 reliant killers who have easier ways to help them catch survivors, like Nurse and Wraith? Could this instead be used perfectly for them?
-
Only reason I say that is cus of the tentacle. It would look weird for Mr. X to suddenly just have a tentacle sprouting from his hand like that.
I do expect a shirtless Nemesis skin though...
-
What if, to play off of the name, that once the auras disappear then Nemesis gains a small passive haste buff? Nothing too OP but maybe like a 3-5% passive haste buff?
-
Personally I like the chase, running around, doing mind games and trying to bait the survivors to go a certain direction. It's fun. The problem is that as a killer, I know that the longer I spend chasing one person then that's more time the survivors have to pop gens. In the time it takes to do one good long chase, survivors can easily blow through two or three gens depending on their add-ons, perks, and coordination.
So are long chases fun? Yes. Love them. But are they beneficial for me as a killer if I want to win? No, not by a long shot.
-
The only two options for killer that make sense are Nemesis and Wesker. Reason I say Nemesis over Mr. X is cus Nemesis is literally an evolved Mr. X who can think and learn by itself, which results in it being a more deadly killer and giving it the ability to learn how to use weapons. Makes no sense to get the lesser developed tyrant when you can possibly get the better now evolved one, who is also more popular as he's also been featured in other games before such as Marvel Vs Capcom for instance and also making the occasional appearance in other Resident Evil games that take place back in Raccoon City, plus he was in the movie as well!
Now for Wesker. If Resident Evil needed a big bad evil mastermind behind the curtain who set everything in motion, the argument could be made that that's Wesker. The guy has been involved in everything behind the scenes in the story, from trying to acquire the T virus to helping Birkin develop the G virus. He has had a hand in pretty much most of the events throughout Resident Evil. He is the big bad villain of the series. Also just like Nemesis, he too has been in multiple games in the series and has also been in other crossovers as well, again using Marvel Vs Capcom as one example, and has also been in the movies as well.
Also just want to add Nemesis and Wesker would make for some interesting perks and powers. Wesker I can see his moveset revolving around his enhanced super human speed and strength to chase down and just wallop the survivors. Same with Nemesis, although with Nemesis I can see his moveset revolving more around being able to better track down and hunt survivors and just being a complete power house. Plus there's the chance of giving Nemesis one of his signature weapons. If it was me, I'd say the flamethrower might be the best one to go with that wouldn't break the game. You can set walls/paths of fires to block off or discourage survivors from going to, or just straight up light them on fire and if you channel it on them for a couple of seconds you bring them down a damage state and maybe put mangled on them (cus I mean... they just ate a stream of fire... that -should- take a little more effort to heal up). And yes Nemesis also has his tentacles and I can see him maybe bringing an infection mechanic of some kind as well, cus I do believe that he is able to infect others with the virus. At least that's kind of implied in the original RE3 when after he tentacle stabs Brad, if you go back to that area in the game you see that he comes back as a zombie and is just kinda wandering there.
Either way, I'd be happy with either one of these guys as killers. I think they'd make for the most interesting additions out of all the villains throughout Resident Evil depending on their perks and specials.

Again for you too, this is a singoe screenshot not many. You can never hope for a day full of good matches because people will be people and you will get at least one match like these every day, survivors have their bad matches a lot.
Also, if they were turning flashlight saves because you kept picking then up, why didn't you try slugging?
I couldn't slug. If I downed one and left them on the ground they'd either disappear for a bit and let me get the hook, then swarm me while one gets the unhook, or they'd still surround me and body block then after the first hit each they'd just blind me while the other picked up the other dude. Again they were very well organized and I couldn't really do much against them.

Surveillance with no ruin, no slowdown so surveillance is basically useless, Franklin's against the worst survivor item in the game, Make Your choice on a killer with no mobility or good chase power... I can already see several reasons why you lost. And what kind of death squad brings autodidact+empathy, and self-care with botany knowledge lmao.
Imo Pig works better with either tracking or chase perks, I can't ever play her without enduring at least. And discordance is probably better if you want a gen-related perk and it works well with combat straps and the other ambush add-ons. Pop is probably a good idea too if you want slowdown, I don't personally like slowdown on her, the traps do enough if you can reliably down survivors without a threatening chase power at the start of the match.
In my defense I'm still a relatively new player and don't have many perks unlocked yet. Which brings me to my point where I am no where near the same skill level as any of these people so I'm not even able to counter most survivor plays. I literally just try to make do with what I have with what I got. In all of my games. It's just not really fair that I get paired up with sweaty rank 1 players who have everything and that I barely have anything unlocked to be able to even try to counter them.

"This kind of matchmaking happens a lot"
Bother to show more screenshots like that during a same day instead of one?
I mean this was one of my matches this weekend. I get these a lot, even when in green ranks. This particular team was a 4 man SWF death squad. They spent the entire match just circling me, taking turns with flashlights, with one guy off to the side healing them as they swapped in an out of crowding around me. This match was just a nightmare and not fun in any way at all and was just a literal waste of my time. And actually funny thing is I was lvl 9 at the start of this match too, so I have no idea how the hell I even pipped when only I got 1 kill at the end, as a pity kill.

That's how I feel against the red rank Killers. Like I said I just get so entirely bored. And that's not saying bad about people who take the game really seriously, want to play perfectly, use all of the meta perks, etc! For people who enjoy those kinds of games that's awesome! But how people like me end up in red tiers with them is the baffling bit.
I mean the meta perks are whatever. I think they can be handled for the most part. My issue is yeah, putting high ranks who have everything unlocked against people who just can't combat anything like that.
-
Eh, might as well. The way things are right now, survivors end up becoming the real monsters at high ranks anyway. At least then if they did this then it would be intentional to have them be scary.
-
I'd say I belong anywhere between ranks 13 to maaaaaybe 10 as killer? I think 12 is a nice solid place though for me. Either way as long as I'm not facing rank 1 tryhard SWF bully teams. It's infuriating getting thrown in to those matches because I am no where near equipped to even be able to entertain the idea of trying to deal with sweaty tryhards like that.

My map knowledge is pretty limited, I'm not familiar with any of the maps as a survivor or a killer, and I'm getting my **** slapped every like 5 seconds with like 3-4 pallet drops per chase. Like right now I feel like I'm in a lose lose situation as Legion because sure I can pallet slide... if the pallet is down, AND if the survivor actually drops it behind them before I get to it. Usually all survivors just sit and wait and drop it right on my poor little head and I get stunned, and normally I just break the pallet so I can avoid it in the future. IDK why the game is putting me up against Rank 10s when I myself am just a rank 20 killer, like... i'm not even sure how my own perks work yet lol.
Am I just being a fool by even playing legion? He's fun and all but against anyone who has a remote clue what they're doing this is a nightmare. Like I can use any of the perks legion is supposed to have because survivors arent dropping the pallets pre-emptively, and they know the map way better than I do so half the time I don't even see a pallet ahead of me, and if im mid-frenzy the goal is to GET to the survivor, not hang back far enough so I can make sure the pallet is dropped so I can slide over it like my perk allows me to.
Any tips would be appreciated, even if its "just dont play legion" (which makes me sad I like him/her) but honestly im not sure what to do. the last game all the survivors were such extreme bullies to me lol
The matchmaking system is a busted up piece of flaming garbage. Don't worry, when you reach rank 15 you'll start facing ranks 1s, 2s, and 3s. But don't worry, apparently the simple solution to facing people who completely outrank and skill you is "git gud". Just saying it now before someone else comes in and says it.

Exactly. You can't really learn anything when you're constantly getting steamrolled, especially when you're trying to practice the mechanics of a new killer. DBD is so ridiculously harsh against new and casual players that I'm amazed this game still has the player base it does.
That's exactly how I felt coming in to this. Literally I just learned what slugging actually means this week lol. Before I thought it was a reference to the boxing term "slugging" and thought that it was just the killer endlessly whacking survivors over and over again. Learned that nope, that wasn't what it meant lol. But yeah I can't even run the necessary sweaty builds to even combat some of these times because I don't have all or even a majority of the killer perks unlocked. I want to get good and get better at the game, but that won't happen if I'm just getting destroyed left and right. Same applies the other way when I run in to potato rank survivors too and steamroll them. Those matches ain't fun either.

Yeah they announced too that they would be discussing the year 6 road map so I hope that something will be revealed that will fix all this. It's been five years and we still don't even have a practice mode, yet the mobile game got one within a few months of release. WTH?
That's...terrible actually. I've only been playing for little more than a month now and I have to say this matchmaking system just confuses the living hell out of me. Like for the life of me I just can't figure out how any of this makes any kind of sense. I get putting someone up against ranks -maaaaybe- five ranks ahead of you at max, to test your skills and everything. But I've argued this before, how do I learn anything from facing red rank survivor death squads that are just light years above my skill level who just roll over me with relative ease? That's not really fun for anyone.
But yeah here's hoping for good news come Tuesday right?
-
I'm really hoping that Tuesday they'll announce a new matchmaking system that fixes this crap. Trust me, it's not much more fun for us low level killers facing a full red rank SWF death squad that just toys with you because they can.

"What could I have come away learning from a match where rank 1 survivors potentially on comms are bounding between flashlight and body saves because they could"
So you are basically saying there is nothing you could learn in this match.
This means one of two things:
- You are already a perfect player at the game and didn't make a single mistake that match and just lost to a perfect SWF
- You did make mistakes but have not been able to recall them for whatever reason
If point 1, then this thread is really a complaint about SWF no? Because you couldn't have lost the game due to your own mistake. But it's obviously not point 1 as you are claiming these people are better than you, due to your complaint about the ranking system, so you musn't be a perfect DBD player just yet.
If point 2, then re-read my post, you missed the bit where I said with focus and a bit of patience you can learn something from every single defeat.
You're completely missing what I am saying. I have barely played this game for over a month. I know that I am the farthest thing from a good player on this game. There is still a lot that I need to learn about when it comes to what are good loops, what are bad loops, when to tunnel, when not to tunnel, etc. Hell I just learned what slugging actually means this week, before I thought slugging was just when you run around and just smack survivors over and over, cus I thought slugging like a boxing match throwing punches, not slugging literally being on the floor like a slug. I know there is a lot that I can learn from this game. But when I am in a game where I am just getting rolled and toyed with by a rank 1 SWF team who are decked and kitted out to handle everything, what do I learn from that? In that scenario they have complete control of everything and the match ends on their terms when they want it. I would rather play people around or even slightly above my skill level so that I can at least learn something and have some fun in the process. The reverse is also true, and I have said this before, when I am paired against potato ranks who I end up steamrolling over. I don't like matches like that either, regardless of the easy 4k. I don't care about getting 4ks, I am fine with getting like 2ks or hell I'll be happy with 1k if the match was a really good one. My main goal is to have some fun because at the end of the day, this is a video game after all. Being in matches where you are being steamrolled or doing the steamrolling isn't fun, it's just a waste of time and good add-ons, which I don't have a lot of on most of my killers cus outside of 5 of them, they're all under lvl 40 and I'm still trying to learn most of them and unlock their perks.

@JPA said:
Also, you are a purple rank playing red ranks, this kind of makes sense right, you want to move up out of purple into red, so you have to play reds. It's a different story if its a white, yellow, or maybe green rank killer against four rank 1s, but even then what I said above still applies, to an extent.
Clearly you didn't read what I had said. When the match started I was still green. I actually don't know how the hell I managed to level up coming out of this because at no point was the power balance within my control. But even if I was a rank 8 going in to this, there's still 7 levels of difference between them and me, not counting the actual hours spent playing the game in which case I know I've lost on that front as well.
Again, what in the hell could I have come away learning from a match where rank 1 survivors who are potentially on comms, are literally bouncing between flashlight and body saves just because they could. I had all four of them surrounding me and jumping in and out of chases because they could. It's not like they were playing the actual objectives and working on gens or anything. No they were wasting time just screwing with me and then tossed a pity kill my way.
The only thing I learned from this match is that the matchmaking system is busted all to hell. The white belt vs black belt scenario is exactly what happened here because I was just outmatched in every way.
-
Honestly I'll wait for a couple extra minutes so long as I get paired with a team that's not way above my skill level. It's kinda BS that I keep getting paired up with rank 1 SWF teams and literally spend the next 10+ minutes getting bullied around until they get bored and decide to move on. In no universe does it make sense to pair low rank baby killers with sweaty fully kitted out survivors. No one comes out of that with anything positive.

Yeah, hopefully a working MMR based matchmaking will be added soon.
When I try a new killer I am not even trying to play it before levelling it up to get decent perks.
During the MMR experiment several weeks ago it worked pretty fine. I tried a new killer and it was matching me up with potatoes... Maybe even too bad potatoes.
Honestly I've wondered if maybe that might be the way to go, base rank and MMR off of killer experience? I mean the actual player level from what I can tell literally means nothing, so I don't see the point in that other than just to be a system to score your 200 iridescent shards lol.

Yeah, it sucks.
Lately I've been getting frustrated too. My wait times are so long to get games of such poor quality that I'm playing damage control more than actually enjoying the game or my builds. I wish I could say it's just because of the failed rank reset, but although that might have made it worse I've still been enduring these types of games for quite awhile myself.
Trying to hang out, but I might take a break until matchmaking is better if this persists - it's just not a good feeling.
List of my games tonight if you're curious:

Yo what is up with those ranks? They are all over the place. What in the actual hell, how does this make any sort of sense?! Yeah this is real gross and does nothing but push me away from wanting to play this game. It's like I want to like this game but it just won't let me. I really do feel bad too for the solo queue potato survivors also who get thrown in to the meat grinder against red rank sweaty full perk and legendary add-on killers too. I have been there myself and since then I just refused to play survivor anymore. Literally no point in me running around with no add-ons and only 1 generic perk just to get rofl stomped by a killer with like 10,000 hours of playing this game.
-
@fogdonkey said:
Positive side:
- You could experience what it is like to play against good survivors.
- You managed to sacrifice one survivor, however maybe they just let you do it? So it means that they were nice people.
You had 24k points which is quite good considering the circumstances.
But I was completely outmatched and toyed with throughout the entire game. Not one time did I ever feel at all that I had a shot to win and literally I felt powerless that there was nothing I could do. That's not fun and there is no bright side to look at from this. I didn't learn anything new from my experience. I see survivors complain about being slugged and just left to die for the 4 minutes on the floor and as ridiculous as this sounds I feel like I went through the killer version of that with this game. The only thing that I came away with at the end was that the survivors felt sorry for me and let me have one kill, which actually comes off as more insulting to me than it does nice. I want to play to have fun, and the way it stands with being put in to matches like this where I can just get bullied around with 0 effort, that's no fun. Same with how I mentioned earlier when I get put in to games with potatoes. It's not fun for me either just getting easy kills, and I can only imagine how the survivors feel on the other side of those games. I can only guess that they're not having as much fun on their end either. It just sucks.
And as an added note, the way this goes right now it makes it so unbearable to try any new killers out to play. Playing a lvl 1 killer with no add-ons or perks is just nightmare mode when I get paired up with red rank survivor SWF teams who run all the meta perks and are decked out. I was playing Wraith for the first time the other day, lvl 1 with nothing but just his normal perks. I ran in to a sweaty SWF team complete with legendary, BNP, all the meta perks. At the end they ######### talked cus they got out via the hatch and I'm just sitting here like "You guys wasted a legendary key...on a lvl 1 baby killer with nothing..."
At this point I'm just praying that and hoping that something is in the works to fix this otherwise, and while this sounds admittedly bad, I might just only play after rank resets going forward. At least then I can somewhat get some equal back and forth matches until I hit 10 and start getting red ranked to hell again.
-
I just want to add one more. Was playing Ghostface last night, doing my daily ritual quest to mark 4 survivors. Had a game where there was this one cocky survivor, t-bagging and flashlight clicking. End game comes, the gates are open and typical, there she is clicking and t-bagging. I guess she miss timed her exit or distance from the exit cus I smacked her down and she was juuuuust barely within my reach to pick her up. So I grabbed her and dragged her off to the nearest hook and just sat in front of her hook t-bagging her back ten fold. Felt soooooo good getting revenge on that cocky of a survivor.
-
I still think the killer is going to be Nemesis, and the survivors will be some kind of combination of either Chris, Jill, or Leon. It just makes sense given the history of all these characters along with their popularity and the lasting impact that they've made since their debuts. This is the 25th year anniversary of Resident Evil as a whole, and in the past whenever they have done crossovers with their characters they always use their most popular and recognizable characters from the series or references to them in some way. With the Division 2 when they had their crossover event they gave us the OG Chris and Jill outfits along with Leon's RPD uniform, and they also threw in Hunk's costume as well which is just your typical Umbrella special forces uniform, but long time fans know Hunk cus he always makes an appearance in the survivor side mini games. In Marvel Vs Capcom they've used both Chris and Jill along with both Nemesis and Wesker. Again, all recognizable and iconic characters that represent the core of the Resident Evil universe. Plus given that this is again an anniversary year for Resident Evil, the whole point of an anniversary is to celebrate the past that has led up to the present, acknowledge the characters and stories that started it all and that have paved the way to the modern day. RE8 is not even a month old. It will have it's chance to shine as being an addition to this universe and it's continuing story. Right now though, it's about the past.
Now Lady D and her daughters are popular sure, I've seen the memes and think most of them are actually pretty funny. But ask yourself this, aside from big mommy and goth girl fantasies and memes, are these characters genuinely interesting and memorable within their own stories? Do these characters actually leave a long lasting impact?
~~~~~~~~~SPOILERS HERE~~~~~~~~~~
From what I've been told and from what I've read, Lady D and her daughters are barely in the game, like they aren't the main antagonists and you manage to end up taking care of them pretty early on. Does a character with about 10 minutes of screen time actually leave that much of an impact outside of dumb internet memes and do they deserve to represent an entire series? Seriously think and ask yourself this.
What @dspaceman20 said. Slugging because there's another survivor nearby is smart, slugging because you could save a generator/totem is smart, slugging because someone is going to try and make a save if you don't deal with them is smart, slugging because you would rather hook a different player and want to bait them out is smart. Slugging because you want to down the entire team before hooking anyone (and will leave the first people on the ground for 3-4 minutes to find them, because you don't actually know where they are), or slugging to watch everyone bleed out, is just pointless dick measuring that guarantees nobody gets any points, yourself included, and is no fun at all.
Those are the only times when I slug, is when I see another survivor near me, especially if I know that they have a flashlight and are looking to try and blind me. Or like you said, if I see that they're at a nearby generator or totem, I'll go and either kill them or just scare them off long enough to buy time for me to hook and come back. No matter what though I always come back and start hooking people when I see that the coast is clear. I do like my BP after all lol.
Well then at that point you're asking the game to be balanced around players not bringing perks. Suggesting that a killer's base kit should provide adequate gen pressure while keeping gen pressure perks the same as they are now is silly.
I think you're still missing the point... A killer needs to hold the kick button down for 3 seconds, to wait for the animation to play out before the progress on the gen begins to regress very slowly. All a survivor has to do is merely tap their button for a fraction of a second, making essentially 0 progress, in order to interrupt the regression from the killer's kick. You mentioned well that's what perks are for. Well...here's the thing about that. I've seen the threads complaining about tunneling and camping. When it's pointed out that there are perks to help prevent that, I usually see survivors give the argument of forcing them to run the same perks and how that's wrong. So...wouldn't that argument apply here? Forcing killers to take the same gen pressure perks regardless of builds? Yes there are different perks for that but I believe there are some that are objectively better than the others.
Also as a side note, and well take this one as you will, I'm only speaking from personal experience here as a newer player to the game. As a newer player, I don't have very many perks unlocked universally for my killers, which means that until I either play that killer or grind out the levels and BP needed to unlock those perks, then I'm kinda stuck. So going back to the basics of how these things work, I still need to spend time waiting for a 3 second animation to finish, where as and I've been in this situation before you will have two survivor's playing monkey in the middle between you and a gen. Where you try to chase one, then another one comes, taps the gen. I go to chase them, the other guy comes back, taps and runs, and in to an endless loop until I commit to one, and essentially giving the other survivor the time to finish the gen. Or if I'm chasing and they got a nice little bit of distance on me I've seen them literally stop to tap a passing by gen and then continue the chase. That's really not fair at all imo, to just simply tap and stop what is already considered to be very slow regression.
Yeah, he's another killer whose size is an issue but they can make him a little taller or something. His power can be transferring his soul to other bodies, we see this already with Fiona. I'm sure the developers would come up with something unique to him since he's too big of an Icon to pass by over little technicalities.
I also want Jason, unfortunately he's being kept from us over petty issues.
Yeeeeaaah...sucks that Jason and the Friday the 13th property as a whole is kinda tied up in legal hell right now =(.
-
Yes, we need alien and chucky and Pennywise.
You know I've asked my buddies who have been playing way longer than me, how exactly would Chucky work out in this game because he's just so damn small. Like besides Jason, he's really the only other heavy hitter slasher movie killer that's missing from this game. We already have Freddy, Michael, Leatherface, and I guess to an extent the Ghostface killer.
-
Capcom is *usually* pretty good about working with other companies doing cross overs. I can see them allowing some really cool extras for the game.
-
I can't stand playing as Hag. Leveling her to 40 was a painful grind for me. I just don't like the character itself and while the traps are useful and great for ambushing survivors, I'm just not a fan of it personally. I dunno, I just don't like her. She's the only one so far. Still playing other killers and testing them too.
-
@Yords said:
Not hating on anyone of course, but I just really don't think she is going to be the next killer for a few main reasons.
- She is literally too tall
- She is not one of the more iconic characters such as Mr. X
- Her claws resemble Freddy's weapon
- It would make zero sense
She is 9.6 ft tall, that is literally taller than Plague. She would stick out like a sore thumb on the farm maps, she would have to go through constant low ceilings or doorways on certain maps, and she is just too big. She would literally not "fit in" this game. How would she vault windows, how would she break pallets? Surely a lady of her size could just walk over a pallet right? Even better, she could probably get rid of it in one kick. Just how in the world would she even function as a normal killer when performing actions such as these?
If she came into the game, it wouldn't really be surprising. Exciting sure, but people want BHVR to surprise them with something new. It just wouldn't be as cool as it could be.
Her claws are just Freddy's gloves, making him a little less unique.
The most important reason I think that Lady Dimitrescu will not be the next killer is because you would take this godlike being, and make her be stopped by a block of wood... For anyone who has seen the game, you will know what I mean by this. It just doesn't make sense for such a powerful character to be stopped by a wee little pallet. In fact, this can be applied to Mr. X as well, or Nemesis, and literally any other RE boss.
Nemesis is more iconic than Mr. X and in game is literally an upgraded version of him. The only reason it feels like Mr. X is more popular these days is cus of how well they did him in RE2:Remake.
I am feeling terrified, aroused, and confused looking at this picture...
So in my humble opinion as a big Resident Evil fan, having been around since the old days of the first game back on the PS1 and having it give me nightmares as a kid, there are very few BIG bad monster types you can point to which would be iconic to the series as a whole. I keep seeing the sisters or Lady D from the new game, or Jack Baker from the last one, or the normal Tyrant or Mr. X, Nemesis, and every bow and then William Birkin gets sprinkled in to the conversation. To me it can only be one of two killers from the series, and there's a couple of reasons why I personally think so.
So first off, I don't think it's gonna be any of the newer villains. Lady D, her Daughters, or even the Bakers. First off they're too new, and wouldn't really make sense given that you want someone who embodies the 25 years of Resident Evil as a whole (remember, this is is their 25th anniversary). So while Lady D and her daughters might make for interesting killers because of their power set, and yeah I could see some fun in turning in to a swarm of bugs and teleporting, they're literally too new, and I doubt that BHVR would have gotten behind the scenes access to their models and stories months ago before the release of the game and back when they would've had to have made the deal. Jack Baker, again falls in to the too new category, but also what would his powers be? Punching? He doesn't really have any standout abilities other than regenerating really fast and turning in to a giant mold monster.
So like I said I think logically speaking if you want a killer who would be a great and iconic representation of the 25 years of Resident Evil, it falls on to two names I think. The first being the most obvious choice, Nemesis. Between the Tyrant from RE1 and Mr. X, Nemesis is the better choice. The first off, this monster is INSANELY iconic to the entire franchise. As a kid when I first saw this monster his image immediately stuck with me all these years, and his guttural "STARS..." growl still sticks in my head from the original. He's been seen in the movie, and even had a crossover in to Marvel Vs Capcom. Also as a side note, he was a main feature in a haunted house a few years ago being hosted by Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. So yeah, he's a pretty iconic big bad monster. Lore wise he's also the better Tyrant out of the others. Mr. X and the RE1 Tyrant were just mindless biological weapons with no other thinking capacity than just to kill. Nemesis was designed to be a better and smarter Tyrant, being given some genetically engineered parasite thing that gave him the ability to process information better than the other Tyrant variants. As a result, he is able to learn and wield weapons such as his flamethrower, minigun, and rocket launcher. It was also shown that when hunting down the STARS officers in Raccoon City, when it came to hunting Jill he would at times stand back and study her before going after her again. And for the argument that Nemesis is too reliant on weapons, and that it'd be weird to have a rocket launcher in the game, you forget Nemesis has insane physical strength and doesn't need weapons. When he was dropped in to Raccoon City in the game he actually had no weapons and used his bare hands and tentacles to crush and stab his enemies. Remember, Nemesis has tentacles under his jacket that he can use as a natural weapon (in the original RE3 he stabs Brad Vickers through the mouth using one). Also as every DBD killer has a moniker of some kind, he actually already comes with one, "Pursuer", which is actually pretty fitting.
Now the second choice and I'll admit this one is real out and a wild choice, but it's a name that I never see brought up. Albert Wesker. If Resident Evil as a whole ever needed like a true big boss type who has been there since the beginning, it's literally him. During the events of RE1 he injected himself with a prototype virus which later gave him super human abilities, his own cool looking super speed thing followed by his super strength and regenerative abilities. Hes also been in a ton of other RE games whether as an antagonist we need to fight or just cameoing in the background. Not to mention he too has been in other crossover games like again, Marvel vs Capcom, and also appeared in the movies. Then there's small detail, which could be a key thing to consider. Now I'm not much familiar with the lore of DBD yet, but unlike Nemesis and other tyrants, Wesker is an actual human being meaning that he wasn't created in a test tube or pieced together by different parts, he was a living breathing human with a soul. Which if I understand correctly would mean that the entity could pull him in to it's realm, whereas with Nemesis it would be either extremely difficult or unlikely that the entity could pull anything from that thing as it is literal man made weapon. My only issue with Wesker and why I think he'd be an...odd choice though is that, well he'd be another very human looking character, but also I'm not sure how his playstyle and power set would work in a game like this. His abilities would focus on his super speed and strength I assume, and he does wield a knife as well when he's not Matrix style fighting everyone, so I assume his combat knife would be his weapon, maybe? Again I don't know, but Wesker has just as much credentials riding on him as Nemesis does to be featured as the killer, if not more since it could be argued that he was the overall villain of the entire series having either had a hand or flat out orchestrating most of the events throughout the series as a whole.
Anyway, I'm sorry for the long encyclopedia size wall of text. I've just been thinking very hard on the possibilities of who the killers could be. Who the survivors could be would be I think dependent on the killer. If it's Nemesis then hands down it needs to be Jill as the survivor. If it's Wesker, then Chris is the survivor. Both survivors could have legendary skins to turn them in to other fan favorites just like they did the the Silent Hill characters, so I wouldn't doubt that we'd get a Leon and/or Claire skin too. But umm...yeah, just my thoughts, again sorry for the novel.
1) Have camping have the intended effect of causing the killer to lose. Make it so that it takes survivors a lot longer to die on hook when the killer is camping them.
2) Bloodpoint reduction. Half the reason I play killer is because you get more bloodpoints. If you have it so that BBQ loses stacks in a verifiable event of camping and bloodpoints deplete at a 100 BP per 5 accumulative seconds within proximity to a hooked survivor (when not in chase, of course), then you're pretty much bankrupting the killer for camping.
3) Make it easier to save survivors who are getting camped. The unfortunate thing about camping is that it's an easy way to secure one kill. A lot of us do it in the endgame for that purpose alone, which usually means we didn't earn it.
But then you'd be punishing the killer for doing their job, which is to try and kill survivors by any means...
It'd be like killers demanding points get reduced for flashlight spamming. If you flashed a killer, wait 60 seconds before you can do it again, or get penalized. That's not right either.
each one gets their own individual points. there might be some actions tha reward them all but to my knowledge everyone gets their own individual points.
Ah ok. So then what if as a "fix" they make the amount of BP earned pool together for the team as a whole? That way if someone does get tunneled and singled out then hey, they can view themselves as the chosen distraction while the rest of the team does their objectives? If they want to come save the hooked person then boom, more points for the team earned, and if the killer wants to go chasing that same person again, well they're doing the job being the nice shiny distraction and at the end if they do end up dying, but the rest of the team escapes, they get a share of the points earned at the end and feel like they contributed in some meaningful way and not get screwed out of points.
Imo this doesn't take anything away from the killer, it addresses the problem(?) I've seen pop up a few times about how survivors don't earn as many BP as killers do, and it doesn't take away a regular strategy for the killers to use, they can still choose to tunnel or hunt everyone. If anything this might turn around the idea of getting picked on to "well, guess I'm the one who's gonna keep this guy busy while everyone else does their thing" and it really wouldn't change how survivors play because any little thing they do gets added together to better their rating as a whole, so they can still choose to either leave the guy hanging or go save them and try to earn a better rating.
Would something like this work?
I have a question. I'm still very new to the game and I'm still learning the basics here, so sorry if this is a dumb question. Do survivors earn points collectively as a team, where if the better they do, like if say at the end of a game if the survivors escape with all 4 or if only 3 survive cus one sacrificed themselves in some way, do they all earn the same amount of BP? Or is it a each survivor earns their BPs individually regardless of how well or bad the team does as a whole? (Example: Survivors win with 3 surviving and one dying at the end with the gates open. All actions are counted on by the game and pooled together earning everyone on the team 28,000 BP each. Or is it more like Survivor 1 earns like 10,000 BP while Survivor 2 got 12,000 BP, Survivor 3 gets 11,000BP, and the guy who sacrificed themselves gets 8,000BP?
So...I'm like still really new to the game as a whole, literally got the game about a month ago. I've tried both sides, and personally I can't stand playing survivor. Not because of op killers or tunneling or camping, but I acknowledge that I just suck at it and honestly the whole run away thing isn't really my play style. So killer it was, and yeah I actually have a bit more fun on that side.
Now that being said, again I'm still pretty new here so maybe I'm not understanding something here. A survivors objective is to escape by any means. So rush gens and hit the hatch if needed. Whatever it takes to literally get out alive. A killer's only objective is to kill as many survivors as they can by any means as well. So by this very basic understanding of the game, why is it bad for killers to camp? If they camp then they leave the other survivors alone to do their objective by doing gens and escaping. Ok, maybe survivors don't get their blood points, but I can promise you if I just stood next to a hook all game and got that one kill, I'm not gonna get much blood points either, and I'll likely get an "Entity Displeased" rank and ranked down. Plus like, I wish I would've quoted this post up above with how survivors complain about camping, slugging, and tunneling. So...what, do you just not want the killer to do anything and instead use harsh language to fight you guys?
I mean I get the argument being made about no fun if you're the one being tunneled and camped. But in my short time playing this game, you know what else I find that isn't fun? Having to face a full SWF team armed with flashlights and do everything they can to bully me around while one or two of their guys rush gens, resulting in me getting maaaaaybe one or two hooks. Not kills, just hooks. You think that's fun, to feel literally powerless against a full team of survivors who have probably thousands of hours more experience in this game than me? No. Aside from me wanting the matchmaking system to get fixed so it can stop pairing me with rank 1, 2, and 3 survivors while I'm floating around ranks 12-10, I think it's all fair game. Both sides seem to have strategies they can use to bully the other side. It's kind of the point of pvp games though isn't it? To win or at least be a massive pain for the other side to deal with?
Again I dunno, I just had to throw in my two pennies as the resident noob who's still learning the basics of the game. If it ain't an exploit or a cheat then I think it's fair game.
