Any way to make it appear some place less distracting visually?

I like the feature, but don't like the idea of having a bright heart on my survivor chest during the match.

I would have preferred something like a small icon next to the Perks.

Could we maybe change the way it looks in the options?

The only alterations to it are the Colour Blind settings - yes those do affect the Visual Terror radius as well. There's no ability to move it around the body - it's in the heart place which makes sense.

Is there a video showing it in action with terror radius and with lullaby or do we have to wait until PTB?

you have to wait until you get the opportunity to play with it yourselves.

  • @xerox8521 said:

How does this affect Killers with lullabys such as Huntress, Trickster and Freddy?

the visual terror radius shows the lullaby - the same way as you would if you heard it

  • Can confirm, kill rates, win streaks, MMR - has absolutely no effect on map selection whatsoever.

I don't understand how this provides absolutely no advantage over the regular terror radius? For example, if I'm on a generator, I can't hear the far away faint terror radius noises over the loud generator noises. As survivor, will I be getting a visual terror radius symbol, in scenarios where I can't hear a terror radius?

no, if you can't hear the terror radius, you won't get the visual heartbeat showing. It only gives a visual to what a player is able to hear.

  • @Mystic_Mizu said:

So we can turn this on and off right? Will the killer be able to see it?

You can toggle it on/off yes. No the killer won't be able to see it - neither will other survivors, it's purely for the player who has it toggled on.

This is an accessibility feature to assist our hard of hearing players so that they can hear the terror radius of the killer, they don't get any other sound cues such as gens being worked, sounds of other survivors healing etc. It's purely the terror radius.

  • And we have these platforms such as the forums, Twitch and we check in with Discord, Reddit, Twitter etc as our ways to communicate. Live Streams are a large production and whilst the Community Team would love to do them more regularly we simply don't have the ability to do that quite at this moment.

  • This is not holding the game hostage. Whilst the killer could have closed the hatch - you could also have finished completing gens, it's more of a standoff here, as both of you could have done things to progess the game, but you both chose not to. We would not action such a report.

It may be unintended, but (at least on mobile) you can't 'ignore' someone directly from their profile if they have their profile set to 'private'.

As a workaround, you can instead go to your own profile, edit profile, and then add someone manually to your personal ignore list.

So you can still do it, but it took me a while to figure out how to ignore private profile users.

ahh that's good to know, thank you for that information. I see all profiles even those marked as Private so it's not information that I would have had, thanks again.

I've reported a person abusing a bug which is bannable too and should result in a ban, the video was sent via support ticket, but he wasn't punished.

So, using a gameplay tactic legally is a no-no scenario and should get me banned while bug exploiter escapes with nothing which is far worse?

WE will not ban for bugs in the game without first notifying the community that this action is being taken. It's highly unlikely we would need to do this now, as we have the Kill Switch, which means if something is highly abusable it's able to be temporarily removed from the game, without needing to ban players!

Are the screams still 10 minutes long though?

This is not about hook screams.

DbD has many different types of screams. The plan was to make screams from perks 3D, however these were limited to 19m. In order for this not to affect perks the screams needed to be able to reach a further range - hence the change. And the scream sound will also have changed to the "scared" scream sound, not the injured ones etc.

As though we aren’t allowed to disagree ? Just quoting a mod doesn’t make you right. I disagree with that whole thing. not insulting the mod but it’s clearly a bias that the killers who could t get up there straight up lose that match but the insist or dredge atleast still had a chance of survivors winning even if slim. No offense to Mandy, but you quoting a mod or dev is pointless. If we all agreed all the time we wouldn’t have 90% of the discussions that happen on here.

come up with your own reply don’t just quote a mod like that’s a magical panacea

Pretty gamebreaking for me when I can’t get on that mound and got held hostage for nearly 20+ minutes. Was I suppose to stop mid match to find a YouTube vid on how to get up there? I didn’t even know until this post there was a way up there while I got teabagged and the person up there kept throwing diversion

game breaking is a relative term and I disagree per that post

killer held hostage on ormond wasn’t game breaking but killer invisible during parts of the match when he already has stealth anyway isnt? Miss me with that. Map should have been killswitched.

Of course everyone is free to disagree, btw I don't moderate...that would be a conflict of interest as I remain unbiased.

However, we do have strict criteria in place and the option to kill switch is never based on whether or not something is killer or survivor sided - hence the mangled issue from a month or so back was not kill switched, that one negatively affected survivors, it just wasn't considered to be game breaking.

Whilst I appreciate you were frustrated with the bug where players could get on top of the rocks in Ormond, as this was something that both sides of the playerbase could do, we did not feel that this fell into the realm of being game breaking (again, as it was something both sides could do with relative ease), and therefore this was not kill swtiched.

  • The Kill Switch is the last resort, the nuclear option if you like, and definitely not something we want to use for just every issue. We have some pretty strict criteria before we temporarily remove content from the game and it has to be something that's considered game breaking. The map issues around Ormond and Dead Dawg Saloon were not game breaking, both killers and survivors could go up the rocks/cart, Spirit was not game breaking, the game could be played although the audio issue did affect her strength somewhat, it didn't make the game unplayable. Dredge being invisible was extreme and was something that was starting to be abused - so yes, this needed to be kill switched.

  • Did the killer have Merciless Storm by any chance, as this was the reason the perk was kill switched?

  • ngl that's kind of spooky! Glad it was a false alarm though.

  • Showing what survivor has a debuff on them, is far more than a quality of life feature - that would affect balance greatly, as if you knew that survivor has a debuff you would go for them. That would be akin to giving survivors notifications that a killer is in stealth mode for example - which is something I am sure no killer wants.

@Mandy is there seriously still nothing to share on this? It's been like a year since BHVR said they would support this at some stage and there has been nothing but a wall of silence ever since.

I have nothing further to add I'm afraid, as I've said all along when we're ready to launch Steam Deck we will notifiy players, until that time there's nothing further to say.

Sure. Mine is Mars2395. I played several matches yesterday during Europe’s morning hours. I tried to play in the morning today, but I got this error. I installed the game from scratch a week ago after patch 6.6.0 release.

Thank you for the information, that's very helpful.

  • Can I grab some gamertags from you please?

  • As we showed previously the kill rates were in the area that we wanted them to be. The recently QoL updates for Survivor - namely the HUD, is being kept a close eye on. If at any point we find that this has caused things to sway in the other direction, we will obviously make adjustments then. However, we did not promise any buffs to killers right now.

  • Argghhhh so cute!

and a heated cat bed??? these kitties are definitely spoilt!

  • We are looking into this and will hopefully have more news shortly.

  • What platform are you on please?

  • Hi, are you still having this issue, it's showing that from 3pm ET that you should be able to play the game?

If your comment gets deleted because you broke a rule you will get a private message with the appropriate info from the mod.

sometimes, maybe a quoted message got deleted/changed though then usually that just gets edited out from your post.

also for posts from new users with few post counts, comments might get shoved into the spam filter (when they edit it or post often in a short time) then a mod needs to manually approve those comments

not necessarily, the mods will often delete a comment that's on the line or if it's quoting someone that's broken the rules..without notifying the user, there's simply not enough time for the mods to notify everyone of a comment that's been deleted. We rely on users to be understanding and to consider why their comment was deleted in the context of our forum rules.

  • The bug fix around Leverage is not actually in the game - Leverage still applies to self healing (you can test for yourself in the live game) and there's no immediate plans to change that.

Can BHVR please review past game footage, to review how the directional audio functioned a year ago or a few months ago? Has BHVR determined that the directional audio has been different recently, than it was a year ago?

There is a video from a year ago attached to this forum thread, and in this forum thread I provided time stamps and feedback, showing that Spirit’s directional audio has always been affected by sound occlusion.

I’m hoping that BHVR makes an attempt to change Spirit’s directional audio to what it used to be, as opposed to just trying to delete the sound occlusion because a few clickbait videos claimed there has been a change in her audio.

We have tested internallly and yes the audio is different and her directional audio is not currently working as it should.

got 5 games today against spirits running the mother-daughter ring addon and wasnt a good experience :/ +the directional phasing sound still being broken didnt help thats for sure...

Is there any news about fixing that asap or spirit getting killswitched?

also for people that are not aware of the bug:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6OC1XgHiL0&ab_channel=DStrike

we do have an acknowledged bug report in on this, it should be fixed in a future update.

It's not thoroughly game breaking so it does not require a kill switch at this time.

  • Hi, I just want to pop in real quick and thank you all for the discussion around this, the effect on the perks is something that's being discussed and we're looking into a solution. As soon as we have more information we'll let you know.

no, hook bubbles used to be see through for auras but something broke them with the patch 6.0.0 i dont get how such a bug still exist for almost a year...

It's currently not listed as a bug, but listed as by design - that's not to say it was always like that, but the decision was made that it should work in this manner.

They always lie anyways first it was about adjusting char sounds of pain for all chars to make up iron will nerf =lie, next was addressing slugging with unbreakable base and was even tested in ptb 7+months= didnt get it and slugging is still so freaking annoying and disgusting, am so tired of these greedy killers slugging for 4k , if I play killer i dont care about the last survivor getting hatch, am fine with my 3 and frankly its fun to play a game of who finds the hatch first imo. Finally for boil over nerf = we are looking into how to make the wiggling more efficient= we have nerfed great wiggle skill check to no longer give a extra second off wiggling. Hey may as well delete the wiggle system cause even today I tried boil over and its so called wiggle fix for this new chaper Killer still walks to hook fine no problem. So yeah 3 false survivor promises.

We were not addressing slugging with Unbreakable as basekit - this was a specific test on a PTB regarding the Finisher Mori, we stated very clearly at the time that this was not coming into the live game any time soon, if at all and that it was purely as a very early test. If you feel sluggling is a problem, then please make a thread giving your suggestions on how this situation can be resolved.

Wiggling, survivors are meant to wiggle off very rarely and with the help of their team - you are not supposed to be able to wiggle off regularly on your own unless the killer has really messed up, so this is by design.

As someone who likes Doctor's gameplay, I understand the implications of changing an aspect of a kit to fine-tune it. But these recent patch notes really nail the coffin for me.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/37F3JLLXUPPK/image.png

How is it that a killer's kit is completely useless now?

Doctor Static Shock will no longer hear audible screams from active survivors inside his own radii. Yes, the notification is there, but we're literally talking about the killer's power here. Changing the audio in this way just makes him unsatisfying to play, with no audible scream to know who you are shocking.

    Who asked for this change?

How is it that all the perks are useless now?

Make your choice. (Needs to be 32 meters away from killer) Now useless because you cannot listen to audio on who screamed to know who is exposed.

Regardless, this is my opinion. But I know I'm not alone.

I beg. Please change the screaming back, or at least accommodate the doctor so he can use his own power and hear those lovely screams.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LCW58RBQOXS9/image.png

Did you play Doctor and find it not to be working as before?

Because this affects perks and not killer powers, Doctor remains unchanged

  • With the exception of the removed cooldown on Any Means Necessary, I do not see what has really changed here? Survivors could always fast vault windows/pallets and leave a loud noise notification as well as go in and out of lockers etc and the killer would get the loud noise notification...so I'm not really sure what I'm missing here?

I played Doctor on the new Patch, 3 Kills and a DC and no Adept is this intended? or a bug?

    do u need 4 k without dc ?

DC's do not count towards the achievement.

  • As far as I'm aware this is something that is by design, that teh black bubble over rides the aura perks of both survivor and killer.

  • @Skunky said:

That's really strange that it was unintentional, since the PTB patch notes mentioned "Reworked how Survivors scream when getting Hooked to make it sound more natural." Bit of a shame, since it was nice to hear the screams for a little bit longer, but ah well.

the affect on perks was unintentional not the adjustment to the sounds on the PTB.

  • Yes this isn't somethign that went through to the Live Build. The PTB showed issues with the Survivor screams starting sooner (more in line with the animations) and killer perk interactions such as Pain Res. This is unintentional so this proposed change to the screams has been reverted for the time being.

The audio change was not intended to affect perks, it was not a balance change.

  • This roadmap shows what will come out during that chapter - so between 6.6.0 and 6.7.0, it is not necessarily going to be coming out the day of the release.

  • This is an entirely different team than the Community Team and these emails are normally sent out later in the day.

  • Grim Embrace is entirely different, survivors can still do other things, they can still heal, heal others, flashlight save, search chests, do totems etc. They're not limited to standing around or running around the map not progressing the game.

  • Incapacitated status is pretty unfun and definitely not healthy on a perk that really badly affected solo survivors.

It makes sense on killers powers such as Victor or Pinheads chains but on a perk? I believe that it definitely doesn't make sense, as the perk shouldn't limit survivors not to do anything at all, they cannot progress the game in anyway. With a killer power they are already interacting with the killer so are progressing the game in some capacity.

  • Going to mark this as not a bug as we're not able to repro this at all on our end without the other player holding SHIFT - if that key is held, then you cannot heal the player (or spray them with the vaccine), this is by design.

  • It should get cancelled as any change in health state affects it.

  • F.A.Q. | Next Gen Upgrade - BHVR we do have a QnA for this on our Knowledge Base.

  • If you think you've played against someone who is hacking - as this is what this is, please report them and let our Support team deal with it.
