Thank you for this post, it's great to see all your stats! <3
For those that don't have them yet, do not worry, they're rolling out in batches
-
Unfortunately that would be impossible as otherwise it would just be very easy to manipulate your internet connection to replicate an internet issue rather than a rage quit. This is the reason why we keep the penalties short in the first instance (around a minute) so that by the time you're back in the lobby, your penalty if effectively over. If this keeps happening and that penalty time rises, then you will need to sort out your own internet connection, as that penalty will continue to increase.
-
Disconnection Penalties are not able to be appealed so your ticket would have been resolved with no action taken.
-
We are unable to assist with ban appeals on this forum, as you've already contacted Player Support you need to wait for a reply from them

The fix to this in the PTB will still allow crouching to happen when there's a bigger difference in heights, the fix is so that the power cannot be crouched on the majority of areas but if there's an area where there's a big variation in heights - stairs for example, the survivor can still crouch to avoid the hit.

it's fun that the so called "feature" was aknowledged as a bug today lol
not quite, survivors can still window fake - that feature remains, the bug fix is not connected to that
-
@Jarky said:
I think it means if they're close to each other rather than removing the mechanic entirely, so if it's within striking distance of a survivor when it's approaching a window, the guards will now prioritize hitting the survivor rather than reaching the window first.
that is completely correct.
The "window fake" feature is still there.
-
When the PTB is live we will be able to fully assess the strength of the rework - until then, it's very difficult to tell if something is too strong or too weak. It's not about "survivors or killers complaining", we use our own judgements on what needs to change based on how things play out.
-
PTB is scheduled for tomorrow!
We'll also be live in the Discord at 10am ET to give a rundown of the patch notes and the changes in the Staging Site.
-
This is an interesting discussion, I think there has to be some distinction as well between slugging for pressure in a match, which most people don't seem to mind, and slugging for no reason - when you slug survivors at 5 gens or something. Also, you down someone, see someone hanging around with a flashlight, so you down them - one of them is naturally going to be slugged for some length of time…whatever "solution" there is to slugging has to take those factors into consideration (if there's even a solution for slugging).
@Yggleif I also remember those days, so you're not remembering incorrectly. It was either a straight up trade on the hook, or you needed a couple of survivors to be able to make a successful save.

thank you Mandy that’s great news! Will the ptb also go live this week or will it be next week?
that should also be this week

I currently have a curved monitor and have noticed absolutely no difference playing on it.
What made the difference for me was being able to up my fps from 60 to 120 (PC upgrade), and then not hitting a skill check for a few matches LOL.

Thank you for the information!
May I ask you, can we expect a roadmap for the first half of 2025 like we got last year? The current roadmap will end by the end of this month.
Will be looking to have one out for February most likely
-
There won't be a Dev Update today, today is the first day back from the holidays, so scheduling is light…whilst everything is prepared from before the holiday period of course, we want to ensure that when we release things like a Dev Update that it's during a time where the team is available to answer questions that sort of thing.
You can expect it this week though!
-
Wishing everyone a very happy holidays! We're going to be away for a couple of weeks over the holiday season, so we'll see you all back in January 2025! <3 stay safe everyone!

This perk does not deactivate when getting broken status effect during its countdown. And no invocation perk states that this status cannot be healed. Phrase "for the reminder of the trial" means there is no time limit.
So my question is:
Does anyone tested it?
1. Starting clean break countdown.
2. Performing invocation.
3. If invocation finishes before clean break reaches healing, it theoretically should clean broken from invocation.
I can believe it is not the case, because clean break may deactivates after invocation completes, or invocation broken cannot be cleansed by any means. But based on descriptions, it could theoretically be doable.Invocation broken cannot be removed by any means is the answer to your question, once you're in the broken state from one of the invocation perks, you can not become fully healed for the reminder of that trial.

It's looking super clean on the new wiki <3
-
We need more information I'm afraid, what exactly are you trying to use - and what's happening when you do use it?
-
This is a very good point, it is something we are aware of. For killers they have to learn one character - for survivors they have to learn how to play against all of them and when things change that can be hard to manage / learn.
DbD is complex, it's not easy on either side - there's a fair bit of skill involved on both sides, the game is most definitely not easy, it only appears easy when you're not very experienced in the game…it's deceptive.
Any ideas for how to make things easier for players and I'm all ears (no dbd pun intended), as there will undoubtably be other killers that have more complex powers.
-
We really need your player logs please, as outlined in the Bug Report Template - thank you!
-
Was the flag fully materialised (it takes some time, and depends on what Guard was spawned), the flag is partially visible but can only be collected by the survivor when the flag is fully visible.

yes kinda. the decoy snowmen are the ones that will explose when you come too close to them - the other side gets a notification. You have to hit these snowmen. The ones that moving around or remind standing when you come close to them, these are real snowmen.
like I said, it is a bit confusing because in the end, it is just a guessing game which ones are the ones you have to hit with a snowball.
although this is a bug report, that's actually good feedback also so thank you - sorry that it's confusing about which ones are which :(
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
I am confused how to do this; the challenge says "Destroy 1 Snowman Decoy(s) with a Snowskull" for survivor… but I have not seen a snowman and where do I get a "Snowskull"?
Snowskull piles are found randomly in a map - there's quite a few areas where you craft your snowballs / snowskulls
If you have not seen a snowman, are you sure you're playing in the Event queue and not the normal queue?
-
Is this still an issue with today's hotfix, as the problem was resolved in 8.4.2?
-
@Unequalmitten86 said:
I can't do it on Xbox.. it doesn't state which snowman or men they all look the same.
it's the decoy snowmen, so the moving ones
-
It needs to be the specific snowmen, not just any snowmen!
-
This should be fixed with todays bugfix patch!

So you aren't going to fix the bug that makes it so the exposed part of the perk just doesn't function?
Bug fixes always happen - I was referring to design changes to the perk itself.
-
There's no current plan to change Shoulder of Burden, it was adjusted from the PTB - Live, and it is something that will be monitored on our side, if we see it behaving problematically then it's of course something that we can change, for right now we're happy with how it's performing.

Considering a simple number change would be very quick to do... I'm guessing it'll be more than that.
It's not about the time taken to do it, it's about getting things through certification, we have to have the builds ready early and sent for certification, we cannot make any changes after that has happened, hence the adjustment (which will be purely a number adjustment), will be in bugfix patch 2.

We do not deal with Discord bans, nor do we run the Discord - it is community run, so please keep your discussion directly with them.
-
It's not going to be for some time yet, I'd guess at mid to late next year.
-
It's not today I'm afraid, you can expect the first hotfix next week.
-
I'm waiting for my Spotify Wrapped to come out!
But in the meantime I'm back into The Toxic Avenger and Myles Kennedy!

Hi there, we have communicated on this forum that there will be adjustments and bug fixes for Houndmaster, as well as for the Live Balance changes from the PTB in our hotfixes, as is our normal cadence.
-
This is not a bug, the activation condition of Jagged Compass takes precedent so activates prior to Floods of Rage / Gift of Pain etc.
-
Hi all, I have a small update for you with regards to this. It is NOT a bug that Floods of Rage and Gift of Pain activate when a survivor is hooked on a normal hook, that's then turned into a Scourge Hook with Jagged Compass - the act of turning the hook into a Scourge Hook when that survivor is unhooked takes precedence. So whilst perks such as Pain Res won't activate (because that happens when you are immediately put on the hook), those two listed above have a different activation condition.
We will monitor it of course, but for now - as it's working in game is the correct way of it working.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention <3
-
This has been sent out some time ago now. If you had duplicate DLCs (not including anything from Nintendo Switch as it will not apply there) purchased within the time frame allowed, and did not receive any Iri Shards then please contact our Player Support team who will be able to check your account and assist you.
-
Thanks for this, I had a look into the bug report also - will have some discussions with the teams involved, my understanding is that yes this is a bug as the hook is not initially a Scourge Hook. But discussing further with the designers on what they want the effect to be with perks such as Gift of Pain.
-
Hi all! We will have our normal cadence of hotfixes - slightly different time frame, but you can definitely expect 2 prior to the holiday break. There will be adjustments to Houndmaster as well as to the Live Balance changes from PTB (as explained in the Developer Update, these were released the same way they were in PTB), there will also be a lot of bug fixes that you can expect. Not all that we're finding now will make it for the first hotfix as time is always a constraint, but we're aiming to get as many in as is humanly possible.
We do appreciate your patience, we understand very well how frustrating it is waiting for these changes <3
-
It will make the effects trigger though - and it does, so I'm a bit confused as to what the issue is here - as that's not a bug.
Do you mean when a survivor is hooked on a non scourge hook PRIOR to it being made a Scourge Hook, as the Scourge Hook only gets created when the survivor is unhooked, so that hook would be a Scourge Hook only when the next Survivor is hooked there?
If that's the case, yes that's by Design and not likely to change as we would not want to make any hook a Scourge Hook, there would be no point to Scourge Hook perks in that case.
-
I want to clear up something on this, if you use Jagged Compass and the survivor is unhooked, and the hook becomes a Scourge Hook - all the effects from Scourge related perks apply when that next survivor is put on that hook, so Pain Res, Gift of Pain etc would then apply to that hooked survivor.
-
yayyy glad you got them, and thank you for updating me <3
-
you utter star! Thank you for the recording - I'll give it to the people that know more than me about this and get back to you!

oh okay. Yes, it was a different Badham version. I didn't know that. But this is kinda stupid because all five Badhams are basiclly the same while other realms like Autohaven or McMillen have actual different maps. If I can ask you, how does it look like with variantions like Ironworks of Miseray? are both coded as one map for the system or as two different maps?
I'm not aware of how the system is coded but then maybe as a suggestion, that the map prevent system could get some tweaks and Badham gets coded as one map for the system - maybe you could bring that up.
yes they're all classed as different maps so you can have them back to back…it's not a realm repeat prevention, so you won't get Dead Dawg back to back, but you could very easily get both of Dvarka Deepwood maps back to back for example.
-
@CountOfTheFog can you try it again, if it doesn't work refresh and see if that works please?
-
Was it the same version of Badham, because there's 5 different ones, and map repeat prevention only prevents the same map being back to back, not a map of a different variant.
-
Thanks @HerInfernalMajesty you might just make me cry now <3
-
The update is out on all platforms, you might definitely need to restart your platform.

This is disappointing to hear. This is just my personal opinion, but I feel like limiting the ability for new users to create feedback/bug-reporting posts is a small price to pay to help reduce (possibly significantly) the hateful garbage and other spam that gets posted on weekend and holidays when mods are not actively monitoring the forums. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would be willing to bet that a vast majority of feedback and bug reports are not coming from brand new accounts.
Are there any ideas that the moderators are considering that might help mitigate the problem? It's really disappointing to see these responses that essentially say that nothing can be done about it.
As explained we're unfortunately limited by actual forum software, which we're not able to do anything about. I will discuss things with the moderation team - we do have all 7 days covered here, and holidays as well, just to reassure you there.
Whilst I do understand your frustration, limiting new accounts from creating feedback and bug reports is not something I'm willing to do. The spam that you mentioned, would happen regardless as they're not actually new accounts for the most part, some are months old, a couple of years in a few of the cases…so it would have no effect.
