It is not a real issue and if it is explain why.
All of these things make the game miserable and uninteractive, thus killing off its replayablility and longevity.

In-game """toxicity""" is perfectly fine for either side to use as you are just using strategies that are valid and allowed within the game.
If the creators of the game don't want these strategies to be in the game, they can just change the way this game works in order for them to disappear.
Camping and tunnelling are actually valid strategies that can turn the tide of what could look like a "lost match".
Not because they are viable strategies, but because they are psychological strategies. The fact that you camp and tunnel usually tilts people and when they are nervous/mad etc they'll start playing poorly, which benefits you in the end.
Which poisons the entire experience for everyone, hence the term "toxic."
-
These things are all real issues. Telling people to stop containing about them is... It's just stupid. It's like saying killers shouldn't complain about gen speeds or holding W.

In game, all strategies are valid and if they are not valid they should remove them.
After the game, no toxicity should be allowed.
I think it's quite obvious.
So in-game toxicity is perfectly fine?

Oh no i can't get my 50 win streak anymore reeee
No-one wants to watch people sit there for half an hour in a lobby only to get a 5-8 minute trial that's pretty much the same as every other trial. Spawn, W and predrop, gens done, endgame for a minute that decides whether or not it's a 4k or 0k, back to the lobby.
-
No, because most players won't be at high MMR and the game can totally afford to lose those who are.
-
Because Nurse, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head and Spirit exist. I don't want yet another ridiculous killer who has no real counterplay. That's just the most unhealthy thing I can possibly think of. If someone wants to play a killer with no counters, go play one of those and stop pretending a guess is counterplay. Or keep pretending, what do I care, just leave Blight alone and let the Devs fix this stupid exploit.

Ight. yall think it's SOOOO easy to perform.
Go get a dpi mouse, go into a public match and try to flick survivors to see how "Easy" it really is,
I'll wait, you'll overflick or underflick,
I figure doubt how to do it with no Information beyond a video clip, in my first trial attempting it, and used it to relatively easily 4k. I believe it took me about 5 minutes to get it. I have since done several bouts of testing and have come to the conclusion that it is very easy and removes Blights only direct counterplay, essentially turning him into Nurse or Spirit.

I don't see how so many ppl can call J-flicking on blight as skillless yet the completely ignore half the other killer roster in this game which is actually braindead. Jflicking is not easy, it's not as simple as just changing ur dpi. Try it out. There's actual technique to it more than 90% of other killers in this game.
Good blights will never be playing m1 because then they arent using their power properly at all.
if you're good at Blight, J-flicking is extremely simple and easy. And it's still, by definition, and exploit with no counterplay.
You talk about not wanting to go agasint Spirits and Freddy's? A a j-flicking Blight is in the same catagory.
-
Killer: Blight
Add-ons: Literally any, but I have a soft spot for Umbra Salts + Vigo's Journal
Perks: Pop, Infectious Fright, Enduring, BBQ
Killer: Plague
Add-ons: any combination of Emetics/Insenced Ointment
Perks: Ruin/Surge/Tinkerer/Discordance
Survivor: Zarina, Kate, Yui
Items: Any
Perks: Any
(Survivor is so much less perk dependant and they have so many amazing perks and builds)
-
If you have to J-flick, you aren't good. Sorry, but that's just how it is. A good Blight knows how to play M1 killer when they need to, and how to use his power in every single tile that isn't a short, round loop. And even how to use his power in some short, round loops.

First time seeing wraith and op in the same sentance.
It's pretty common knowledge that, while his basekit before this patch was quite lacking, a lot of his add-ons are absolutely fantastic.

Bruh I’m a survivor and I want him buffed
Yeah, so do I. But so many people have Old Legion PTSD that they just don't think. It's honestly quite painful to watch.
-
The worst part is that you had to add the /s.
-
The worst part is all the people that don't want him buffed because they think he'll suddenly be Old Legion.
He literally cannot use his power around walls. His counterplay is basic structures. They cannot turn a killer with that weakness into Old Legion. Old Legion was Old Legion because they had no counterplay.
-
The assymetrical nature of the game feeds player entitlement. If a survivor never really plays killers they don't know what killers have to do to win. They then abuse killers as much as possible because the killers are breaking this imaginary rulebook, please ignore the fact that they themselves don't give a damn about their opponent. Or they're just bullies, because ironically it's easier to bully people as a survivor.
(This makes it so that the harder role is also the most abused and so people play it even less.)
On top of this, few killers never really play survivor and don't know what that entails, especially solo survivor. These killers just assume everyone is a hardcore sweaty SWF team with full meta builds (and unfortunately, they are often right), and so get conditioned into thinking that everyone is out to get them and that they have to pound their chest and roar and bite everything that gets close. They also don't care about their opponent.
And on top of all that, you've got solo que survivors that don't understand how strong SWF is and how much it changes the game, not just because of coms but because it decreases the likelihood of having potatoes that get you killed. They get mad at everything they see the killer bringing (sometimes rightly so) but often lack perspective to admit that they are playing the weakest role in the game. These players tend to want killers to stick to The Rulebook the most and will be the first to call Trapper OP completely unironically.
TLDR: People don't know and don't care about what everyone else has to deal with.
-
Good. You should be next, that's healthy gameplay. Time to pull out the looping and get to business.
I actually never hide from BBQ unless I'm on death hook. There's no point trying, it's better for me and my team if the killer comes after me, because facecamping would be a free win since solo que gets solo que teammates.
-
Most red rank killers I go against are Spirits, Freddie's, Nurses, Legions and Huntresses. A little Deathslinger creeping in, too, as well as Wraith with his honestly borderline OP add-ons (all-seeing, silent clapper, the serpent build, that sort of thing).
And to be honest, after the time I've been having I think I'm going to have a solid week of Spirit. I need both a cleanse form normal gameplay and to bully the crap out of people. Unless they suddenly implement MMR, in which case I'll not be going agasint my usual survivors as Spirit and will probably just be a friendly lil spooky lady.

No i dont think so. If devs giving you advantage for easy games ofc people will use this. Now Gold Age for Tunnelling.
By this insane argument, the golden age of tunneling started two years ago and you still don't have a leg to stand on.
-
Wcome to high rank gameplay, there's no real advice to give.
I have been getting hardcore bullied all night, every night, for the last year. That's what happens when you go against red rank survivors as a killer that isn't Nurse or Spirit. They always have the same perks equipped, they always slam the crap out of gens, for the most part they're on comms, and the one person every other trial that is playing solo with an off-meta buil comes to the forums to complain about the prevalence of Spirit and Freddy.
Win? Get bullied. Lose? Get bullied. Win as perkless Trapper with no add-ons? You're a disgusting piece of shite. Lose to 3 minute gens? Just pressure more.
That is what you should expect to deal with as killer. Optimists don't have fun in that role.

Ofc i will complain lol They nerfed it so hard but with 0 zero buff. When killers get nerf they usually have buffs too. But they nerfed survivors so hard. BT was good perk for camping but now it only saves who is on hook. For killer nothing changing because he will still have on hook (who came to save).
DbD has great exp for solo survivors but yes lets nerf it harder. Because %5 of survivors (SWF teams) makes killers sad. How fair lol
So you're mad because your broken toy got taken away? Aww, how sad. My heart bleeds for you. Don't complain about tunneling so much.

I can stun killer with pallets or i can blind him. Why i have to use DS now? This perks forcing you to be useless and i am team player, so no. And DS has weak power. So it will not worth it. 5 seconds stun, are you kidding me? Only one time. It is waste of slot. And DS is not anti-tunnel perk. It is trash now.
You're complaining about being tunneled and actively refusing to use DS. Need I say more?

I'm fine with it even stopping you from being able to use your flashlight when it is active. Idk how they would deactivate it by using pallets since you want to use them if youre being tunneled anyway. Not to save others, just to save yourself.
And yea I agree with that. I see so many killers with the "I don't owe you a fun experience" arguments but when something gets more difficult for them they're the first to come to the forums to complain about unfun survivors.
There's a unique mechanic behind pallet saves that prevents Enduring from being activated. Tie it with deactivating DS and it should be...
Yeah, okay, the code actually might not be able to handle that much complexity, but that's how they could do it.

But ye 60 seconds bla bla bla bla. Bye
Maybe equip a perk that punishes the killer for tunneling you? There's this one that recently got nerfed into it's proper place, I believe it's called... Now what was it... Deliverence Stab? No, no, that's not it... Dead Spin? No, no... Decisive Strike! That's the one!
-
There is a strange concept going around the community that "anti-tunnel" means "the killer cannot physically tunnel you" and not "the killer gets heavily punished for tunneling you."
Now, I'm all for buffing both the timer and making it activate twice, so long as it also deactivates when getting a flashlight/pallet save (I'm getting sick of mayflies hanging around me with flashlights just because they got unhooked and would like a little discouragement to stop them (yes, I know it's good for me as killer, I don't care, please go away)), but there is never in existence going to be a perk that stops a tunneling killer from tunneling. Too many killers care more about getting a kill than having fun.
-
Ouch. Hope you can keep them away from the next one, if indeed you don't give up and accept a physical-keyboardless lifestyle
-
Killers can exploit DS? Really? You're trying to go with that?

Why are Blight mains so insecure and defensive? It's the old "you don't like what I like therefore you suck".
I'm not new to the game at all. I'm competent at Nurse but find her tiring to use after a few games so I didn't ever main her as I found other killers more to my taste. I prefer the mindgames of standard killers. I can land blinks but I'm not a pro but it's easy to see her potential in strength and "fun" even when only first starting her. You know, being able to teleport through walls and land hits and the like.
I put some time into Blight when he first released and he was awful. I took a break, tried this new and improved version and he's still awful. I don't get why you're personally offended. I said Trickster is weaker but more fun.
Blight isn't for me, that's the point of this thread, thats why I asked at the start about who hears the hype but doesn't understand it. Even on release when I was landing dashes I didn't feel thrilled by any of it. He's kind of like Nurse but nowhere near as cool, as strong, or as fun.
If you want to know why people are annoyed, it's because nowhere here did you make it clear that this is just your opinion. You presented the whole thing like fact, as though Blight is truly the worst designed and worst killer to play for anyone ever.
-
Blight is the only killer in this game that I just picked up and knew how to play day 1. Everything about him feels intuitive to me, I can't even give people proper advice on how to play him because I don't know what doesn't make sense. He is so well designed and balanced it's almost a shock that his one big flaw is a bug/exploit.
-
@BangBang said:
Then why don't you try it? LMAO
Not to mention he is a tough killer to control, J flick is not something you can just do by simply increasing the dpi.
If you don't like it, just stick with consoles and turn off cross-play.
That's exactly how you do it. By increasing the DPI and abusing the single frame where you don't have a turn lock.
-
It's pretty funny. I had a full meta Blendette trying to play like she still had OP protection. Funnily enough, unhooking someone in the killers face because you have "protection" or immediately working on the gen right next to the killer isn't feasable any more.
-
It's because they think there's a hidden skill cap that makes him a decent killer. Spoilers, that's not possible because of how his recoil, single-throw and knife spread work. It's RNG. You can't outskill RNG.
-
Guess what? IT HAS NO COUNTERPLAY.
You can't just BS and pretend like that. At best, following your petty little guidelines, it's a 50/50. That's not counterplay.
-
It would probably be the best chapter if not for the fact that the 4.4m/s killer cannot use his power when walls get involved. The perks, the visual design, the lore, the welcome risks woven through everything... If only the killer didn't rely on people not going to maze tiles, buildings, shack, particularly high junk tiles, or just anywhere you need accuracy in order to hit people.
-
Normally, I would wait. But as with Twins, there's no need. He is weak as weak can be. His recoil and spread make him artificially bad.

Only issue now is no obsession lobbies are more common if you yourself aren’t using DS
I never use DS. I wasn't one to abuse it and it didn't matter if I got tunneled because... Well, most killers would tunnel you through DS.
So I'm pretty used to having no-obsession lobbies. Doesn't seem to change much from my perspective, although that might just be a difference in regions (when I play in EU or NA servers with my friends, people tunnel a hell of a lot more even though everyone has DS. Well. had DS).

Trapper takes too long in general to get his traps and struggles gaining momentum with them, while Pig is an M1 killer against any relatively good survivor.
On the other hand, Trickster can make any loop that he has small walls practically unloopable with him getting practically free hits on them.
Very few, if any, loops have small walls, those that do aren't going to have survivors flocking to them, and any half-decent survivor will just keep going to high-walled tiles where you basically don't have a power as a 4.4 killer.
Don't get me wrong, I understand calling Pig and Trapper weak, but Trickster... He's on a whole different level.
-
Gen tapping shouldn't exist to begin with. Completely halting an already snail-paced regression in half a second? How about just not doing that and you get to keep your anti-tunnel perk.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
I'd say he's the third worst from me playing only a day. He's definitely better than Trapper and Pig.
I don't see how, they can play maze tiles.
-
I love how absolutely alien of a concept it is to you to want to chat with nice people without the arseholes berating and insulting you.
-
Nope. Not even that fun after a while, his recoil makes him insanely frustrating.
-
It's quite funny how so many people are complaining about tunneling now that the anti-tunnel perk can't be abused.
It's almost like people weren't using it because of tunnelling...

I'm not missing the point because I'm not arguing for it. What? Brother, don't do that with me.
Did you even read the original post?
And.. I really have to lay out what I meant by my comment? Ok, please read:
- My first response in this thread was to give my input as a PC player because of how the OP worded his post.
- I play FPS games and am used to recoil.
- I do not have a problem with recoil on Trickster's power because it is a mechanic I am familiar with.
- The problems I have with the design of this killer ARE NOT recoil-related.
- I am not saying recoil should be in this game-- but at the same time it does not bother me.
- Come on.
Yep, once again missing the point.
You said recoil is fine. His recoil not bothering you is like saying you aren't bothered when you get aim assisted into a wall. It is the sole reason Trickster cannot use his power in maze tiles, buildings, or anything with a wall. You cannot simply "adjust," you cannot simply "get used to it," it is a hard cap on what is actually feasable as Trickster.
You tried to say the recoil was "not that bad." It is. You can say you aren't bothered by it all you want, but that's tantamount to saying you're fine with not being able to use your power. Skill and practice do not and cannot overcome RNG. This is not an FPS where you can "just get used to it" and do fine by clustering your shots because you cannot cluster your shots when it matters.
And if we're going to be condescending, at least have the decency to call me "sister."

When I think about old Legion my first thought is an easy to use killer who has to land a lot of hits (shots) to do damage and who's weak exactly because of that since he can't really end chases fast.
I guess that's because I almost never used the exploit or the notorious frank's mixtape.
That's a bit flawed. The biggest complaint with Old Legion wasn't that they were weak but that they had no counterplay and were the killer equivalent of nails on chalkboard. Trickster has so much counterplay it's not even funny, which means that his biggest complaint is that he's weak.
-
@Nameless said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063204#Comment_2063204
I mean at that point you're relying on the Trickster being bad and not being able to land their knives before they decay. Trickster just needs a whole rework in my opinion or just something else. You can't make the power actually useful without being oppressive, similar to Legion, and that's purely because of they don't require skill to use.
Like... What do you suggest they would change? Make him 115% speed and he'll be able to catch up faster, and land more knive hits in maze tiles and the chance you do have as survivor for the knives to decay, will be even smaller.
Make the knives down faster? Devs would have to be really careful with that because he can throw them so fast.
Make the knives not decay at all? That just makes being downed more inevitable...
The recoil and innaccurate knives remove any ability for a Trickster to be "good". He is not a particularly difficult killer because you cannot improve at rolling a die.
As Trickster, you have a split second at some corners where you can land a shot. You cannot, no matter how skilled you are, consistently land them. It is a die roll.
Bam. Counterplay. Do what you would do agasint any other ranged killer and run a maze tile. He cannot hit you because he is forced not to by a mixture of recoil, movement speed and how the knives travel.
-

You can't deny they are very similar nonetheless.
When I think "Old Legion", I think "zero counterplay/weak killer". That doesn't describe Trickster.
-
@Nameless said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063148#Comment_2063148
How does one dodge 60 knives thrown at you in rapid speed.
Don't get me wrong, I believe wholeheartedly that the killer is by far the weakest killer in the game at the moment but unless you're in a maze tile there is actually not that much counterplay to him. Even in a maze tile he'll most likely land some knives. The point I'm trying to make is that yes the killer is stupid weak and it'll take him about 30 minutes to down you, but it's basically inevitable that he downs you because of how low his skillcap actually is. Playing the Trickster doesn't take any skill, the killer itself just sucks.
Run any walled tile ever in existence. The few knives that land will decay quick enough.
-
@Profezia said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063148#Comment_2063148
I mean he is like old legion.
Both had to land excessive amount of low damage hits to deal a damage.
Both had a mechanic that basically a second healthbar (lacefuckyouation/deep wound)
However old legion didn't really take a lot of skill to use and was just a weak zero skill killer (unless exploited, then strong zero skill killer) whose entire gameplay was being very fast and stabbing people multiple times.
The difference is lacefuckyouation that magically disappears after a dozen of seconds like nothing happened which greatly ruins the trickster. You can easily land 7 knives, have survivor with "red circle" and then watch them go to another high wall abuse where you physically can't do ######### and see how all your hard work dissimilates in a matter of seconds.
Also, that "main event" ability which was supposed to be a power burst, but it can't be activated when you need it, but rather it forces you to use it regardless of the situation or lose it entirely which is also a big disappointment
Trickster has the exact same counterplay as Huntress. Legion had no counterplay at all. They are incomparable for that reason alone
