nope they dont. where i live untill 6/7 pm you have to wait more than 5 minutes to find lobby as killer. so this guy got like 10 minutes of lobby simulator and then find us LMAO

That's because you're trash. Killer queue times outside of white and yellow are almost instant. Unless you live in like some podunk

  • Whenever I see entire teams of the same character, I bring iri moris.

If you're relying on this 1-shot you're probably wasting way too much time chasing them without lunging or using your ranged attack while trying to get right up on them.

And if you aren't relying on it, think of from a survivors perspective how cheap and unsatisfying that would feel? He can't do anything but run after you into a corner and is now rewarded sometimes with a free 1-shot. It's not very consistent or fair gameplay wise.

I mean if you let yourself get literally cornered by a killer during a chase, you're kinda a doofus. It has nothing to do with being "consistent" and it is extremely satisfying for the killer. The only places I've seen it pulled off are on entirely cornered survivors who can't move, survivors that run in a literal straight line when pyramidhead is immediately behind them, and on survivors slow vaulting windows right next to him. It is consistent in the situations it can be used, but they are few and rare. As for whether it's satisfying to the survivor, who gives a #########. I doubt survivors find being grabbed or instadowned by ghostface satisfying. I doubt they find getting chainsawed satisfying.

That's what I assumed but I haven't seen in action repeatedly yet. If it's only working in situations like that than there's no real reason to keep it.

uh, no. It's cool and it does provide a bit of utility when you do corner a survivor.

You're right, there are others and some of them must get as close to down them cough chainsaws.

IDK, I guess since he has a ranged attack if just feels dumb to turn it into a chainsaw. It feels more rewarding and skillful to hit them twice with Punishment rather than just walk up to them and get it in one hit.

Certainly more effective that way tho.

you haven't seen it in action though. It's stupid hard to pull of and if the survivor turns at all, you won't get the one shot. It's not effective,. it's a waste of time unless you corner a survivor.

This is blatantly untrue. LOL, you do not see 5x, let alone 10x, as many keys as moris, pinkies or hatchets. I don't think you see as many keys as you see addon + mori combos even. 😂 Might as well go ahead and Tombstone in there, while you're listing extremely powerful iris. In addition to these pretty damn powerful iri's, very few of the Killer iri's are actually "trash". Mint rag - good. Iri King - good. Iri coil - good. This is just silly all the way around, good sir.

in like 5 matches as killer at rank 1 last night, I encountered 4 keys. Two of them were in the same game, granted. Survivors constantly bring keys, and then ######### when you tunnel them. They just want the free win.

if you think tombstone is a good iridescent, I'm going to disregard your opinion as being from a low-skill player. There's no reason Michael should be able to get enough stalk in a match to activate tombstone, unless he plays exceedingly well and has a full slowdown build. And this doesn't speak to the power of tombstone, as he probably would of won without it. The blue ribbon, memorial flower, and Judith's journal are all much more practical and versatile add-ons.

  • Whenever I see a key, I bring Franklin's and a mori. There's no reason to let the survivors have fun if they don't even want to play the whole game out.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

Imagine survivors having one, unnerfed iridescent left in the game and Killer's cannot handle it, despite it being extremely infrequent in comparison to the number of times you see their multiple iridescents used in matches. 🙄

Also, you saw that person come into the game with a key. An advantage only the killer has. You could have come better prepared to deal with it.

most killer iridescents are trash. The only ones that are actually strong are mori, hatchet head, and pinky finger. And I see keys like 5-10 times as much as I see moris, pinky, or hatchet.

I'm sick of getting my ass handed to me by red rank swf's man. I'm a rank 13 (Ps4) for Christ sake. I'm tired of having to sit in a corner to wait out matches I have zero chance at winning, because if I DC, I get penalized, and server issues lately with loss of connection, I don't want a 2 hr ban. All these survs do is burn map offerings of cornfield, swamp, and yamoka. Rush gens, then run off in the swamp/corn/brush and become invisible because of the frame drop. This is getting out of hand. I'm not asking to quit, but there's a certain point in the match when you know it's over. Even the survs know so they rub it in your face and taunt you, instead of just finishing the last gen and leaving.

It's accelerated learning. A survivor's rank has little to do with their skill anyways. I've seen totally dim rank 1s and godly rank 16s. It's more about how frequently they play then how good they are.

  • I did this to a streamer once, and he threw like a minute long tantrum about how the pallet was "glitched." Like a minute or so later he raqequit and said it was because "the pallets were glitched so I couldn't break them." This guy was rank 1 and I guess he'd never heard of this.

with the recent patch ghost face's footsteps are REALLY loud and his shrowd/cape sounds like a portal forming right behind you, is this a bug? (you can hear ghost face's footsteps from about 10-15 feet away which makes it impossible to sneak up on people)

and the shape's breathing is INSANELY loud it's like he ran 100 miles just to meet you, it completely takes away his stealth ability at tier 1

again, was this intentional or bugs?

I've been able to hear Ghostface really easily recently, and it seems like survivors are also having an easier time when I play him. Kinda sucks. You can hear him crouch and turn.

I can tell you've never tried getting out of a basement, you'll see real quickly she has no cooldown. I'm aware Freddy has no directional lullaby but its not a big deal on him because you have time to react since he has to M1. Some maps are so small that you are in the Huntress lullaby most of the time with no directional awareness of her location. It should be directional. A killer that can throw projectiles needs directional sound.

I don't see why the location would change how long her cooldown is. Why don't you just say, "I wish her cooldown was longer," instead of claiming she doesn't have one? They don't have like 3 add-ons to reduce something that doesn't exist in the first place

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1247681#Comment_1247681

10 meters above my head is not on me nor is if I dodged it, the hatchet goes to the left or right of me and it still hits. When she hits you with a hatchet, she can instantly M1 which is essentially an insta-down most of the time. Also, why should a sound not have direction? Why should any killer have that advantage when they have 5 hatchets ready to throw?

Neither Freddy's lullaby or the terror radius has directional sound. I don't know why you're making it sound like huntress is special. Her M1 is not instant, as I've stated before, there is a cooldown. If you're getting hit with a hatchet and not using your speed boost to make distance, then you're terrible and deserve to go down "instantly." The only thing you're saying that is or was an actual problem is the survivor hitboxes. I know they were ridiculously large, but I heard they actually shaved a lot of the invisible hitbox off of the top of them recently.

  • @yourfavskillcheck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1248161#Comment_1248161

It doesn't matter if the make hitboxes match the survivor body perfectly cause the killer is still the one with the hit detection logic (aka hitboxes are killer biased lol)

The game wouldn't function if hits were server sided. There's usually at least 60 ping and often more due to the shoddy dedicated servers. You'd basically never see a survivor downed at a window or a pallet and the entire balance of the game would be thrown out.

Regardless, you've still failed to address anything I was actually talking about in the prior comment.

  • @yourfavskillcheck said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1247681#Comment_1247681

The one that doesn't know what you're talking about is you.

Hitboxes are totally killer sided, you wanna know why?

Cause dedicated servers are not the hit detector (the one that says if that hits or not) devs didn't want to do it that way cause it would look weird that a hit could "go trough the survivor" so basically:

I can have 1 ms but if the killer has 500ms or is using a vpn IT WILL HIT.

I didn't say they weren't. The survivor hotboxes should be slimmed down. You're not even addressing anything I said.

  • @Sluzzy said:

I think the devs are a bit partial to the Huntress for some reason.

    1) Best addons in the entire game

    2) Most broken and unfair hitboxes in the entire game

    3) 5 chances to down a survivor with an actual projectile (denies pallets, windows, loops)

    4) a huge lullaby that is actually omni-directional so she can basically have line of sight to hit you with hatchet before responding

    5) ability to use M2 and then instantly use M1 after attack with absolutely no cooldown

lol, you really don't know what you're talking about. The unfair hitboxes are on the survivors themselves. The hitboxes are like a big refrigerator around them, so it benefits every ranged killer. Huntress's hatchets also have a much bigger hitbox than model, but that's more often a hindrance, causing hatchets to break on objects they shouldn't hit. Corners, low walls, trees, etc.

And huntress does have a cooldown after throwing a hatchet, there's a whole set of add-ons for reducing it. The lullaby is a huge warning. It's your decision not to pay attention and if she gets LoS and hits you with a throw from outside her terror radius, you have no one to blame but yourself.

To slug is to keep someone in a Dying state and not pick them up in favour of chasing someone else.

Yeah, but one side is higher in average rank then the other side. When you "tie" with a person of a lower rank, it is a loss. In almost every ranking system used, you would lose rank while the lower rank would gain rank. It's simple logic.

  • When I play a game of killer, I'm looking to win. My definition of winning is a 4k. If I am in a position where a 4k is assured, I consider the game to be won. Sometimes I'll let people out if I like their outfits, how they played, or if they're Jeff. But if the gens aren't done, and your whole team is writhing around on the ground without unbreakable, I "deserve" the 4k, and I often do what I need to get it. The reverse of this argument is why do survivors feel they deserve to escape when the rest of their team is dead and they failed to accomplish their objective?

  • @Peanits said:

That seems about right to me. You had a close match judging by how many points you got, and you managed to kill half of them. That tells me that you're right around the ideal rank for you.

See, I would buy this line of reasoning if the survivors were all rank 4. But they're not. There's a rank 1, two 2s, and a 4. If he "drawed" against this team with a supposedly higher skill rating, then he should rank up. I've had this exact situation dozens of times. Anywhere between rank 1-6, I've been matchmade with full teams of rank 1-2 players. I'll kill two rank 1s in a full team of rank 1 players, and receive no ranking progress for it.

This is ridiculous, because by the devs' own words this means that I performed at the level of a rank 1 that match. If the matchmaking is going to be so loose and queue you with much higher ranks, you should at least be rewarded for performing on their level.

  • You can tell they're cheating by how they employ the lag. A normal lagging player isn't going to wait until they're rubberbanding to run past the killer and through a pallet like they are. It's clear from how they're playing that they now when they're going to lag

  • I can definitely understand where you're coming from, but I'm so resentful of the survivor playerbase that seeing them angry just adds to the fun for me. I had a particular match when all of the survivors were cursing in the endgame lobby because I used Franklin's and made them waste their white wards, when they brought 2 toolboxes and 2 flashlights.

  • @gatsby said:

The practice of slugging the third person and waiting out the bleed out timer to try to ensure there's no hatch escape is completely killer sided and lacks counterplay.

The game won't end normally with two survivors left and all the options for the last survivor only appear after the third one is dead.

I think that doubling or tripling the bleed out timer when there are only two survivors left would do wonders because it actually puts pressure on the killer to hook instead of leaving them slugged. And it makes the game end faster when the killer holds the game hostage by waiting out the bleed out timer when the last two survivors are both are slugged

Not sure why after winning a game with the odds stacked against them, killers think I shouldn't be given my freebie consolation prize. Totally unfair that they can beat me and my team, and I don't get to escape anyways.

MY nonsensical nitpicking? I'm lying or an anomaly?

How am I an anomoly? Because I haven't played with that specific build? I've played against people with some of those perks, but not all of them. Then again, I don't grind for Rank 1. But I've played at red. And it's also Xbox. The only one of those perks I consistently use is DS and I do it as intended.

I don't care what you use. You said you'd never come across "ANYONE" who used that build. I'm currently killer rank four and I see this build, maybe with one varying perk, literally dozens of times in a two hour play session.

2nd - broken half the time

3rd - limited time, conditional, once per game

4th - limited time, conditional, if abused requires MORE healing from whole survivor team (you know, a TRADE-OFF)

5th - small boost IF endgame triggers

6th - limited time, once per game, requires rare add-on and an item

    Noticing a trend here?

It's nothing against you personally, it's just every killer and their weapon have had this complaint. And besides, I haven't come across ANYONE who's run that specific build. And yes, I'm in red ranks, or was before reset.

You're either lying or just an anomaly. Those are all the most used survivor perks. And there's a reason. Despite your nonsensical nitpicking, these perks are all extremely powerful.

  • @Fibijean said:

Possibly, it has something to do with the fact that killer is easier to pick up. It's easier to do well as killer when neither you nor the survivors know how to play than it is to do well as survivor in the same situation. So if killer strength were balanced around the skills of the average player, rather than the best players, new survivors would get absolutely stomped and stand no chance whatsoever in their games.

I think you greatly overvalue the complexity of playing survivor. It really doesn't take more than a few games to figure out Gens, totems, windows, pallets. It's really simple.

Does the music really make this game go from boring to fun? I don't think so...

It definitely makes it more intense. Chases would feel really silly without music.

  • @Stevie_Eye said:

I wonder if the game would be more intense without any music for killer and survivor and lowering the volume of the heartbeat substantially. It's the same garbage music over and over again anyways. Should be able to turn it off if that's the experience you want. Force people to become more in-tune with their senses. More immersive imo.

This isn't the kind of game you want to be immersed in, lol. Without music, the game would be horribly boring.

  • @AsePlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1095464#Comment_1095464

Not really. It would actually counter people 99ing sprint burst so maybe there will be more usage out of the different exhaustion perks (I think SB is currently the best, so anything that encourages diversity is a plus).

That's also one less perk slot for a meta perk for a mediocre trade off. Idk why you'd be opposed to this.

Sprint burst has a 40 second cooldown. At half recovery rate, 80 seconds. No one with an exhaustion perk and a couple pallets would have a hard time running for 80 seconds. This would literally break the game, with survivors sprint bursting across the map from god loops to safe pallets. You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1093832#Comment_1093832

Well they did mention Vigil as one of the perks getting reworked here soon. Maybe they'll add that it also allows Exhaustion to recover at 50% the normal rate while running in addition to its current effect.

    That'd be legitimately game-breaking.

  • Actually killing someone feels like a huge ordeal. Assuming basic competency of a survivor team, a killer is going to have to hit a survivor upwards of 6 times, and impale them on meathook 3 times. This isn't to speak of all the obstacles in the way, perks, horrifically one-sided maps, pallets, other survivors, and sheer amount of time that is consumed by all these factors. No one who regularly plays both sides of this game would claim it's balanced. A survivor only dies because of tunneling, a top-tier killer, or incompetence on the part of them and/or their team.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

You have a point. I have to admit that I've done plenty of cruel things to survivors. Slug races, survivor pinata, 2 survivors - 1 basement, violent boss, etc. Ahh, the memories.

With that build, use ruin, pop, noed, or devour hope instead of whispers. People should be hurt most of the time, and you should be moving fast between gens / healing people. You should be able to hear injured people easily, and you'll get much more value put of almost any other perk than whispers. If you really are having a hard time finding people, use stridor. It makes it impossible to hide while injured, and I am often able to locate healthy survivors purely through their breathing. Almost anything will do you better than whispers with that build.

Hard to say, considering he died because of a total inability to aim his gun, as well as being overpowered by a skinny, small man, and also being clumsy. It's not like characters have stats for aim, strength, dexterity, and the ability to keep their cool in a fight to the death. I've been seeing multiple hackers hitting me from about 20 feet if they have vision on me and a few have teleported me to them to finish me off as well. Has BHVR just gone full pretending to care? I hardly ran into hackers in the past. I can't even remember a time I did in the past actually... Now it's about every 10 games some kid pops out the rage hacks and doesn't care how obvious he makes it.

I've experienced two hackers in the last week as well, and I had literally never encountered one in a year of playing before.
