  • Surv main here:

That isn't toxic in the least. You're just using a build that works well for you and doing your best, which is a lot more than I can say about some of the teammates i've had in the last couple days.

Do i think that you maybe have a slight advantage with that build? Yes. Do I begrudge you that build or think its toxic? No. Just keep doing what you're doing, love, they're just salty.

    (ps, congrats on rank 10)

  • @PrettyFaceKate said:

It depends on what you're looking for in a build. If you'd like something for a versatile playstyle, then I can suggest the vault build: resilience+spine chill. It's usually run with iron will and either dead hard or sprint burst. However, you can swap the last two slots for whatever you like.

It's generally a looping build, but it's also quite efficient for stealth due to spine chill and for working the objectives due to resilience.

Kate and Feng are pretty good to buy together because lithe and dance with me synergize very well along with quick and quiet.

If you're looking more into looping specifically and you're not confident, unlock windows of opportunity from Kate. Alert from Feng is very good as well both for stealth and in chases.

Ooh, thank you! I'll definintely try those!

  • I liked Megs story the most, and I liked Ace's the least tbh. I think if we were doing all around characters, then Rin and Anna (spirit, and huntress) were by far the most compelling to me, even above the survivors...

  • @Cardgrey said:

I think streamers and cake should be shown in lobby so others will know and use them too

I feel like even if its just between all the survs, that it would be good to show the special add-ons like cake. Just because everyone in one of my soloQs brought the "Lovers postcard" one time, and it basically wasted them. got a lot of XP though...

  • I was like "yay, that sounds like a good game!" and then I read the main text and my heart broke a little, ngl.

  • I can get behind this post because you don't need DS, unbreakable, Dead Hard or No mither to be an aggressive player, you just need to play your strengths out to the best of your ability. I'm a stealthy-agro survivor and a very downright aggressive killer, life goes on.

I run a stealth build Nea, with UB imo, but i'm still a very aggressive player too. I don't loop, mostly because I can't loop successfully, but i'm not afraid of luring the killer over if it gives us all a chance to escape. That being said, people who use UB to walk the entire map are a bit annoying, and they add to the "stealthy immersion ub players" that everyone hates. myself included.

as for cosmetics, I gotta agree with the others. Blendettes are not the same as stealthy survivors, and neon cosmetics will either get you tunneled or the killer will ignore you on purpose. I just use whatever cosmetics I like. With the exception of Dwight who is dressed in the most flashy clothes I can get my hands on, just because the killers usually assume i'll hide in lockers, but little do they know i'm sitting in the bushes prepared to drop pallet as soon as they turn around, especially on Yamaoka Est. >:D

Just bring ds and unbrakable and dead hard and a friend with BT and abuse

and see the same killers that says that facecamping is an strategy cry for what they force survival to do

If I could actually use those perks (I can't ever get the timing right on DS, i've tried running unbreakable before and it was a bust, and dead hard is basically just sprint burst on steroids....) then I would. Not to mention I don't have any friends I could get to BT, considering that we don't have any chat on mobile. so rip me stuck in SoloQ running probably the worst build (Urban evasion, calm spirit, wake up, and de ja vu.)

All I heard was "my team was pure ######### and I carried as best I could". This doesn't seem to have ######### all to do with Myers face camping.

    Thus ft. Myers...

  • @thetoxicteacher said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/183136/fun-times-ft-a-face-camping-micheal-myers

What did the Myers do wrong in this situation? The camping worked pretty well, I'd say.

Tbh, i'm a not nearly as upset with him as I am at my tms that didn't pop any gens before getting hooked...

  • The game is actually fun, regardless of balance or whatever.

The moris are great, keys aren't op as people think they are.

Spirit is a fun killer, she was my main for a bit. I like the way she plays.

UB isn't a bad perk, the people who use it to walk the enitre map are just cowards. Perk is *chefs kiss* perfect for evading for certain killers.

  • I'm a fan of fnaf, and it can be a really scary game at times, the lore is definitely wonky, but its a good game. That being said, I 10/10 think that it doesn't belond in DBD. There would be no way for it to be possible, seeing as they'd never get license and the mechanics would suck.

If they did, however, i'd want a 4v4 with each killer becoming active with each gen rather than having just Spring-Boi. Or just putting survivors in spring lock suits like pig with the head traps... that'd be the only way i would be okay with just spring-boi.

  • Its no fair to leave someone behind if they were helpful. There are only 3 things that would prevent me from going for save.

    1. They did not help at all. Locker-corner lovers, etc.

    2. They're on low end 2nd stage. Im talking, not even 25% left in the meter. Maybe 10%. Same with the EGC. If I know I don't have the time, then I'm not going to risk it.

    3. I'm on last hook. This is pretty explainitory, imo.

If they don't fall into those 3 issues, then better catch me running fast as Sonic to save them.

  • As a surv main, I find that having the killer walk over slowly, and maybe hit the gen is a good way to signal that they wanna do that type of stuff.

I also find that shaking your camera, left and right, is a good way to signal "no harm" or "no death" ie. "I just wanna do points/rituals." Not everyone is going to let you, imo, a lot of people get skittish. But just being as friendly as you can, not a lot of sudden movements, etc. Usually helps.

I usually use wraith, so clinging bell a lot usually is a goof sign. As for huntress, i'd suggest just kinda standing there and maybe hit the gen once or twice. It usually lets them know your friendly so you can do what you need to.

  • Tbh, I kinda like Doc. I've been using Calm Spirit a lot lately, so it's usually my team that has trouble with him while i'm chilling with a gen. He's fun to play against, though I did encounter one with the perk that gets rid of his TR when he stands still. He face camped me while I was on hook and got one of my team mates before we had a David+Flashlight come by and keep him occupied. Good game though. Still one of my favorites to play against.

  • By far shes one of the more fun killers to go against😅

  • Lmao, I doubt it was since I'm on mobile for the time being. Hopefully i'll be on PC after christmas...

  • Favorite: either Yamaoka estate or Macmillan estate

    Hate: Lery's or Haddonfield.

In terms of aesthetics only, definitely Yamaoka Est. I like the vibes.

  • I feel like even if caleb could manage shooting and reeling Anna in, he'd still get the chop-chop from her axe. Or maybe even a flying hatchet, you know, cause she can actually kill from a distance...

As a Jake main since I picked up the game 3, 3½ years ago, I never knew he was Korean. His cosmetics certainly don't do him any justice either

Yeah, someone once compared one of his cosmetics to will turner from POTC.

i dont know if its like this on pc/console but I notice when I swipe to the Character Xp gain screen at the end of a match, that the drawing underlay of him looks good, and does him a great deal of justice. And then i get back to my main screen and he kinda looks like a potato.

  • Wraith just for the simply fact of uncloaking in front of a 3-man gen and seeing them flee like rats. I usually do light hearted wraith games tbh, just a fun dude all around.

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

When she's crouched near a gen, it looks like a survivor is repairing it. This is in fact OP!

    Lmao, yeah thats very true.

Legion too, not the crouching part, but I thought he was a Surv until I saw the mask.

Then again I mistook Myers for a glitched out Surv on Yamaoka Est, so... my horrible eyesight prevails yet again😂

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/181757/hear-me-out-a-killer-idea

I had the same Idea!!! Wendigo as a killer would be cool and Sam is probably the best Idea as a survivor.

Sam would def be best, but I doubt they would ever get license, imo, but the chapter/pack could be full native american inspired stuff and that would be 10/10 good stuff.

  • @Silacko said:

Now that cross-play is becoming a thing, I’ve got an idea for in-game communication. I think survivors should be able to talk via their mics as long as they are close enough. I doubt the Entity would allow walkie-talkies in her realm, so having to be in close proximity to communicate with others makes sense. To make the communication mechanic a bit more challenging, the killer could hear the survivors while close as well, so the survivors would need to be silent in the killer’s terror radius.

    What do you think?

I really like the idea, but doubt that it'll happen any time soon if at all.

Especially since some people wouldn't want to use their mic if they have a loud household, giving away their posistion unintentionally if they don't have a way to mute it.

But I would love for that to become a viable option though.

Nea is swedish. Jake is, from what I can tell, some sort of asian-american. Zarina is Latin American. The hag is a African American. Jane is Hispanic, Plague is Middle-Eastern. Philip Ojomo is African. Caleb Quinn is Irish-American. Rin is Japanese, as with Kazan. Herman is a African American. Anna is a Russian female. David is British. Jeff is overweight, undesirable. Kate is a southern songbird. Yui is the opposite of typical Japanese woman.

There is a lot of diversity in this game. It isn't something that needs to be more focused on, diversity comes naturally. The game, well, is nothing more than a game. It has bigger more important problems than diversity currently. POC and recognition is always nice, but forcing it or pushing it makes it not so genuine.

Jake is supposed to be korean. Hence his last name Park, but a lot of people were asking for a graphical touch up since people mistake him for native american.

    Also, good point.

You should join the official DBDM Discord Server and stay in touch with announcements.

I believe for the most part, the forums is for core DBD platforms. 😅

I will definitely look into the discord server!

And yeah, I noticed when I first joined. They do have a lot of insight though, so I dont mind.

It's a common question we get asked in DBDM Discord, I just heard "Third Party" and was like, "Don't risk the biscuit". 😅

I don't know exactly the rules, but I do know using a third party application will get you banned. Personally, I wouldn't even attempt using emotes until they are officially announced as a feature. ❤

Yeah, I wouldn't purposfully download any 3rd party apps since I know its a bannable offsense😅

I did hook up the controller 1 time to see if the emotes would work, but it was too much hassle and my curiosity was satisfied, so I haven't done it again, and won't do it.

    I just really want emotes😫

  • @NMCKE said:

Hello, I can reassure you that emotes will be a feature in the future of DBDM, a lot of people suggested it and mainly, it comes down to the patient game.

However, for the time being, I'd reframe from using third party applications because they are bannable and I'd hate to see your account getting action taken on it. 😕

    Hopefully the emotes come soon.

Ps. You dont even need to have a 3rd party app to use the emotes. You just use bluetooth. The 3rd party app is for mapping out the buttons for full controller support.

Regardless, I won't be using tge emotes until they add them officially then😭

That'd be cool, perhaps they could have their own hex perk that killers have to find and destroy. I like the idea of the killer leaving trails a survivor could track. As for killer I think a perk for extra totems that block stuff and gaining a buff for how many survivors are injured would be fitting.

Reverse hexs, i like it. And the trail to track would be nice, cause i always manage to be walking behind the killer somehow😅

So totem perks like the Plagues generator blocker? And maybe like a 5% buff to speed or meter awareness of survivors for each one injured? Or even a terror radius reduction of 5%?

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

No worries, I've screwed up on wording more times than I can count. As for perks I actually don't think its that big a problem. If they were able to make Billy and Bubba have unique perks, they could give the wendigo some justice. My only hope is that more than one perk is viable, that seems to be an unfortunate trend with most killers.

Yeah, I hope that they wojld make good perks for the killer and survivor that were viable.

Someone in another thread suggested increased cleansing for totems and being able to track the killer (maybe it could be like scratch marks for the killer, or like OoO but without the killer seeing them)

Hopefully some good perks for the killer too. I dont play killer much, but I really want a good windigo build if we ever got one.

  • S: Calm Dpirit, Urban Evasion, Wake up! De ja vu.

Wraith: blood hound, thrill of the hunt, shadowborn.

I rarely play killer, and wraith is my main alongside spirit rn, thus only three perks.

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

I'm stupid lol. I thought we were talking about the licence as well, I'd be fine with a native american survivor, my big worry is perks and backstory.

Lmao, i shouldve been clearer on what i meant. Sorry.

Yeah. I feel like perks would present a bigger issue than lore tbh. Theres a lot of places to pull lore from, but perks would be harder especially given that windigios rely on sound more. Though we could get something like echo location, they scream land might get a general area of survivors within a certain amount of space.😅

  • A good pig is a terror fueled nightmare.

That being said, first pig I encountered I kept on one gen for the entire match cause I would repair the gen and then walk away and she was like "wth?" And mind gamed her long enough for everyone to escape. I got hatch that game.

Last pig I had, however, was a living nightmare. Match lasted maybe 3minutes in total.

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

What characters in until dawn were native american? I haven't played the game in a while but I don't remember any native american characters.

Not the characters themselves, but the Windigo, if im not mistaken, was from the Native Americans Folklore. Just thought it be nice to expand on the idea, really.

  • @Alec1055 said:

So we have a ton of white characters because, obviously. But for POC characters we have Jane, Zarina, and Ace maybe. Three... we only have three POC characters. The same is with black characters... the three black characters are, claud, Tapp and Adam. Which is even worse because we only have ONE black woman which is the most hated group of people for some reason even though they’re the prettiest on the planet. And the Tapp is a licensed character so they didn’t even take the time to design the character and choose the race so practically there’s only two. And then theirs two Asians. Come on bhvr gives us more POC! And if you have a new chapter idea and survivor who is white just change them to black. It costs no effort whatsoever

I do agree that diversity is good, theres a lot just in my family even, so its nice to see it in games. however, i'm not so keen on the idea of "if they're white, just make them black." You can't whitewash black characters, and you shouldn't change race just for the sake of diversity. I'd rather have well thought out lore, and better gaming than having piles and piles of characters that are there simply to satisfy diversity. I can guarantee you that if it did get done, it wouldn't get done well.

  • Because I literally cannot play Killer to save my life😅 I find that unless i'm running Wraith or Spirit I can't get hardly any kills. So i just tend to enjoy playing Surv more often.

Ahh makes since. I know Babylon fell to persia, which is why I thought such. Thanks.

    No problem🤗

  • For me when I play killer it makes no difference. I'm like "oh, neato" and move on.

When i'm playing Surv and I see theres an obsession I actually want to cry somedays because most of the killers can get brutal, especially if you're using the same character as the obsession. (Me and the ob were both running Nea but she had dead hard and a couple other strength perks while I had UB, wake up, and Calm spirit. Wanted to cry because he'd tunnel whenever he saw either of us.)

  • @RelentlessShadows009 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1533126#Comment_1533126

Plague could possibly be persian depending on the time of her back story.

I did a bit of research, says shes babylonian.

Babylonia was a state in ancient Mesopotamia. The city of Babylon, whose ruins are located in present-day Iraq, was founded more than 4,000 years ago as a small port town on the Euphrates River.

So shes middle eastern, Arabic I guess.

  • @Pryzm said:

Wait, has anyone even looked up population ratios? This game is pretty on par here.

18 characters with 8 people of color. Considering whites make up around 70%.

I'm honestly not concerned with the race of the character, just want goo lore and perks.

    Asian

    Jake, Yui, Feng

    Black

    Tapp, Claudette, Adam

    Hispanic

    Jane

    Arabic

    Zarin

    White

Dwight, Meg, Nea, Bill, Quentin, David, Jeff, Nancy, Ash, Ace, Lori

Killers may be less diverse. Off the top of my head, there are only the following: Doc, Wraith, Spirit, Oni, one of Legion, Plague....perhaps, she could be anything. Oh, and demogorgan......he's one of a kind.

I believe Plague/Adiris would be either something along the lines of Greek or Middle Eastern given the fact that shes from (or around) Babylon.

  • Ok, so in my opinion, if you know for a fact that the others are right there, then its a bit more lenient.

To me, camping is hooking a surv, knowing full well everyone is either across the map, or that theres a couple in the vincinity, and doing it just because you can. It's not letting them escape even where theres a low possibility that they will.

Now, if there's a high probability that they'll escape, camping becomes more of a "please don't loiter" situation in which its a little harder to blame someone for. Given, that you should usually allow a small chance to let them get unhooked if only for the sake of downing another player.

  • I know its horrible trying to see on it, but 10/10 I like Yamaoka Estate. Given, i've had bad runs on imo, but its still one of my faves.

  • Nah, not bannable. Half the players would be gone if it was.

He just sounds salty tbh. I've run several matches where they'll let the injured Surv get hatch and kill the healthy ones off instead. It's not that big of a deal tbh.

Just keep on playing and enjoy the game. Ignore the salty Quentin.

You will find some people on this forum are quite divided and biased unfortunately. If you say anything about their preferred side then the pitchforks come out.

Best way to learn the game is to play both sides and pick up what you can from content creators. The game can be tough for new players as extensive training/induction doesn't really exist in this game.

Mm, i've noticed. I'm gonna try and do my best and hopefully i'll get better. Thanks for the encouragment btw.☺️

So you just started the game and you don't know how to play, which is normal, but then you come here to complain about a killer ? Alright man.

I didn't mean to sound rude or disrespectful, I was just very curious why I was having so many issues with one killer in particular when i've been tunneled by Trappers and Face Camped by LF's and still gotten wins. I even had the unfortunate accident of feeding Myers into tier 3 thinking he was a glitched survivor and still gotten out with my whole team. I guess the fault lies in my inability to pallet drop properly?

No worries, he has one of the best killers perks (Pop goes the weasel). I would suggest Leatherface too (as he has BBQ and Chili which is a solid tracking perk that gives extra bloodpoints).

I also like the fact that you are assigning roles to your survivors.

Ooh, i'll try to get them then (rip my auric fund for Myers)

And yes, I assign simply just because I like using their base perks as a basis for how they play. Meg has already been through prestiege once because of it, and Nea is so close and yet so far😅
