  • Dead hard fails to actually function like 30% of the time. 😂 Not the best exhaustion perk. Not a real threat. Next.

  • I'm sorry, this suggestion doesn't solely benefit killers, so it can't possibly be implemented into the game. That's not how DBD works anymore. It's a great idea tho. 😉

  • @Raptorrotas said:

It's not the killer's fault camping works.

If that claudette got instantly downed, after unhook, she was farmed by another survivor, who, despite a killer apparantly being very near, went for an unsafe unhook.

Dont just always soley nlame the killer for camping, SURVIVORS keep rewarding it.

It IS a killer's fault. It's a choice 100% of the time. Killers love to blame their camping and tunneling on survivors stating, "well you shouldn't have off hooked right in front of me"... But if you NEVER LEAVE THE HOOK, a safe unhook is not remotely possible. Or "I saw you going for the off hook".. OF COURSE, BECAUSE YOU NEVER GOT MORE THAN 8M AWAY AND WALKED BACKWARDS STARING AT THE HOOK THE WHOLE TIME. 😂 Get out of here. Survivors aren't purposely rewarding the killer by trying to save someone you won't stop butt ######### at the hook. They are trying to salvage someone's game you are ruining and complete their own objectives so they can, maybe, get some pts too. I know, how ######### dare they. 😂

Lol sorry to burst your bubble, but slugging is unequivocally necessary to do well against optimal teams. It takes entirely too long to pick someone up and hook them versus leaving them incapacitated to chase another person off of a generator.

As for tunneling and camping, both are stuational tools that usually get you demoted for misuse and over reliance on them.

False. Camping and tunneling is a red rank go-to. I played 4 matches today alone. It was the main tactic used in every single match starting with the very first hook. It's not situational, it's become the standard. And it's ruining the game for solo survivors, imo.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle said:

    Borrowed Time and DS.

Only affords you the luxury of taking an extra hit, if someone manages to off hook you without being downed themselves and you aren't slugged as a result. With new map changes, it will be a short jaunt to the non-existent loop or unsafe palette to snag the 'prey that got away' in no time. These are not guaranteed escapes, ensuring ppl actually get an opportunity to engage in the game. They are merely bandaids for a hideous playstyle.

  • @Crackgear said:

You're a survivor not a hunter or something. Play the prey , think a strategy and escape. That was meant in our relative food chain. The only time a prey attacks back is when it has its tools to evade or dodge such as a rabbits flip or a deer's antlers.

Using a flashlight is a tool for temporary use. If you overexert your usage and take it to a long mile, you are using 0% of your brains instead of thinking smartly. Make use of the tools that you have, don't get angry if you lose something, make something new.

Using an infinite loop and broken glitches isn't a tool, its a corruption in the system, making use of a over-problematic thing which most people gets pissed about.

What happens if a spider gets trapped on a spider web in an alternate universe? Pretty sure that is how most normal killer players feel, they get made use of their own cons by treating them like insects. I would call this cockiness and over-dramatic king syndrome.

You want to win, be smart, be kind and cool. Don't need to rage on a game which tries to fix itself over time. The developers are humans, the team are humans, they need food, water and rest. If you overexert it, they could die just like the rest of us.

Even the killers are...humans... Just like the rest of us. :cozybethesda:

This is by the under study of psychology and graphic design / DBD player , Crackgear.

Survivors don't need you to killer-splain this game to them. Thanks.

  • Agreed @OP. When I bought this game it was actually fun. Now it's rarely enjoyable. This patch will put a nail in that coffin for solo survivors. This has developed into something I would never have spent money on. Feelsbadman.

  • I don't like him. Anyone who can quick scope is pretty OP. Its hard to tell where he is coming from. He often shoots through objectives to snag you. Easy for him to proxy camp and shoot off-hookers. It's not really all that fun unless you get a less skilled player and then it just feels bad.

  • Looks/Style: Thiccc Booty Summer Jane

Why should you be able to 2pip vs "better" players on your own?

This. I don't know of any magical double pip formula for Killer against a full team of coordinated people with triple your amount of experience, each. Get your 1,000 hours and (and consider investing in a different killer, as many people think Clown needs a rework) and you'll probably find your answer.

This game has gotten really stale for killers at red ranks post ruin nerf.. roll your eyes all you want, it's truth. If I want to try interesting builds that deviate from the 6-7 "meta" perks for killers, gens fly and it's generally a miserable experience. You will of course have some wins, but more often than not, Brutal Killer/Displeased is your result.

Survivors can run meme or thematic builds all day long because they have 3 other people to carry them. If i want to run an all hex build, stealth, or perma injure build.. it might work a quarter of the time. Injured people at high ranks just split up and sit on gens so it doesn't really matter.. plus they get dead hard constantly.

I realize X killer may have Y build that works for them, that only proves that you're being pigeonholed. "If you want to use this killer, here are the perks that actually work".

I am essentially locked into using the same build for every killer unless I want 3 chases and the game to be over in 5 mins. Boring.

    BBQ / Corrupt / Pop / Discordance /// Nurses / Monitor

"THEN JUST SLUG" - no thanks that's not fun

"DONT WORRY ABOUT RANK" -- maybe I don't like seeing "Entity Displeased" every game when I try experimenting

"PLAY ANOTHER GAME THEN" - i have been thanks

Sure would be nice to be able to run interesting builds without being absolutely punished by the game.

The idea that survivors get to run their "fun builds" is only possible in SWF. As a solo, you are stuck in the same fate - having to bring essential perks because your random teammates are not dependable. Welcome to the club. 👍️

I have literally just been against a wraith, that stood in the corner of the map invisible... And again, I lost one of those shard things that makes you go to a worser rank. The matchmaking is just terrible. The killer was rank 16.

That sucks :/ And he can't even be deranking so weird choice on his part.

  • I like having all the perks, so I would just based on that. If you are good at gen pressure and the hex stays up, it can be really helpful in regressing gens, but I dont like running hex perks since they are so easily counterable, personally. It's kind of luck of the draw as to whether or not someone spawns in on your valuable totems.

  • Because generators don't fulfill enough of your objective to pip. You need to be safely unhooking and healing people too, or engaging in decent chases with the killer.

I had a match yesterday where my three teammates were clearly SWF and played with the killer all match. I stuck with gens because I could see none of them were on a gen. They were all with the killer. At the end of the game, even though I had done 4 gens myself, I did not have highest pts because they engaged in all of the chase and all of the off hooking/healing. I did pip, but I saved one of them in end game because I run BT and took a hit so that probably put it over the edge.

Lol, he’s quite weak and they’ve already passively admitted this when Peanits said “some players can do well with him. We are just hoping people need more time to get better at aiming.” If you know anything, this means he is under performing. People aren’t going to get too much better with his aim and when they do, they’ll realize that the survivors will get better at positioning and then you’ll never get a hit. Harpooning theM isn’t the issue. Being able to hit them and capitalize on the harpoon is.

He is fun but an awful killer.

His aim is pretty easy, and IMO its easier than Huntress. Unlike huntress its dead center in your screen, where her weapon sits off to the side and you have to gauge where center will hit. I will preface that like I do all my killer-related opinions and say that I am not a red rank killer. But in my limited experience with him, aiming was no issue. And any P2 - P3 I have run into can quick scope without issue (I do play red rank survivor, so that probably makes a difference as well). He seems more like nurse (albeit not as difficult) - perhaps has a higher learning curve but very strong in the right hands. There isn't much you can do as a survivor against someone who can quickscope...there is literally no delay, unlike huntress where no matter what there is some delay and sound notification between when the hatchet is thrown and when it lands. You really have to anticipate where good players are going. With him, if you have decent aim, you can nab someone easily with no time to dodge. The people who have trouble are the people who aim down sights (so its easier to anticipate where they are shooting) and who have bad aim. That is easily improved by repetitive game play.

The same goes for tunneling and kill rush. Killers do the only objective they have to kill all the survivors.

Sure, if that's what you think, you're entitled to your opinion. :)

  • @gatsby said:

If I have another chase and another hook, but the next person I go for still has DS for some reason. I just tunnel them out of the game and don't let them leave. I will never reward someone for using DS. If I get stunned, they're dead.

That's your choice, if you can manage it.

But bloodlust isn't necessary to catch someone. Windows get blocked, pallets can be broken, and moonwalking and double backs exist (mind games). There's nothing preventing killers from getting hooks when there's sufficient counterplay to survivors' defenses. Killers are also faster than survivors, so running in a straight line will get survivors hooked instantly.

True, but a key element of the game for killers is time. Even an unskilled player can hop from palette to palette and waste significant time while getting their lead back while the killer breaks them. Meanwhile everyone else is doing gens. If there was no mechanism to help end chases, it would still elongate singular chases and hinder the number of hooks happening and the possible pts for all.

  • Because you should eventually get caught. You are designed to be caught so that killers can get hooks and sacrifices and teammates can get off hooks and heals. If a good player could just run the killer for a full match it would defeat a core function of the game.

  • @Ivaldi said:

Do you guys honestly think we like gen rushing?.. A gen rush is the result of a killer not putting up pressure in the right zones or committing to 1 chase for too long. We do it because there's literally nothing else for us to do, other than cleanse totems. 90% of the time if we "gen rush" a killer, we only safety pip from it due to no altruism and no boldness.

I like how "gen rush" is just another term for literally doing your main objective. M1 is super toxic. 😂

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1186010#Comment_1186010

You again try to make it simple... you comment was "kill the key holder, super simple". It would be "kill the key before the hatch spawns" which depends on who you find and when, needing you to pressure that key holder when gens get done. Which might at some point make you ignore gen pressure. If it is that easy as you said, it would be face camping. That's easy. That's why I asked. Not sure why you think I need to facecamp to kill a survivor. If I need to pick on a survivor, I can't say at the beginning if I kill him because it depends on the game. Or I say "I facecamp him once I see him" then I can tell you that I will be able to kill the key.

And the SWF thing was just another example of some things you were missing out in your comments, which made everything look so easy.

It is that simple, if that is your goal. If you care about the key that much. That is clearly your focus - kill them. A lot of killers specifically say they bring a mori for key carriers. In which case, you will probably kill 3 or 4 anyway. Tbh, idk why you would care about a key as long as you did focus on normal game play. You will likely end up with more kills than not. And I didnt really miss SWF, it's just a fact the majority of DBD teams aren't. And I did state that while this does work plenty of the time, no solution for every problem works 100% of the time in every situation.

  • @MigetMAN208 said:

But can I say that this is still a game, a competition if you will, and there has to be a winner. Now in DBD the definition of "winner" means whatever it means to a particular party, be that survivors or killer. I'd say most killers though see anything less than a 3k as a lose. You don't have to be a dick to want to achieve your win but that doesn't mean others won't see you that way because your win is different than their win

DBD itself pretty much defined what a win is for both sides in a match, and it does not include everyone living or everyone dying. I think there are some understood in life about what sportsmanship looks like...people should make an effort to ensure people have fun, especially if they have the upper hand. That doesn't mean they give up their win. It also doesn't mean the spit in their opponents face while they down either. I've let ppl in a match go or given the opportunity to heal and reset when I'm way ahead in a match just as I have let someone kill me or died to entity on purpose because I knew I'd pip and they had a rough time. It doesn't take a lot to just consider others and the fact that it's a game and games should be fun.

Where in my reply did I indicate I am rehooking someone quickly after jetting back over there? I use Mangled on many of my killers, so its quite common for me to see them still injured even after I've been over on the other side of the map tapping a genny.

Then that's not really a tunnel. Your comment about chasing a healthy and injured survivor, you would hit the injured survivor, sounds like what typically happens after an off hook. Injured survivor runs. Healthy survivor tries to block. Killer still pursues injured survivor. That's the image I had in my head. 😂

  • That should definitely say the key can only counter if the carrier survives last 😂 but you know what I mean. 😜

  • @Deadeye said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1185964#Comment_1185964

SWF will tell you where the keys are dropped, Plunderers shows you where keys are dropped (which by the way also can supply you with keys inside the game, so the killer has no Franklin's). Franklins depletes item charges on hits, so if it goes below 0, the item was destroyed. But that doesn't happen anymore and used up keys still can open hatch.

Just saying, don't wanna go into detailed conversation here, but it is not always that simple. Counter key by killing the survivor? You suggest facecamping here? And even if, not everyone runs weaved rings. The other survivors see lobby items too, and a destroyed hook is a prettyy decent landmark to look for the key.

Btw, it feels more like keys counter Moris. Either when I jump through the hatch to escape the mori or when 2 survivors jump out of my mori game.

I don't play with SWF and the majority of survivor teams aren't. I almost never see ppl run plunderers, although I do agree it will render a key you didn't get a chance to prepare for. Most people don't run it and survivors don't get to prepare for anything the killer might have. Sooooo. Nothing is ALWAYS that simple, but I've lost plenty of items to Franklin's in matches. It is still plenty effective and makes the claim that there is NO COUNTER for a key.

If you can't kill someone without face camping you should uninstall. So no, I'm not suggesting that. And if you run Franklin's and your key carrier dies, their teammates won't find it under a hook.

A key could only counter a mori of the key holder dies last and we all know the key holder in a lobby probably is the reason for the mori, not the other way around. Plus if you get a key on match, your teammates won't know to check your hook.

So you are right. It's not a solution for EVERYTHING that could possibly happen, but nothing is in this game.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

Based on your description of your playstyle, it just seems like the Survivors are salty that they couldn’t escape or because they don’t like Doctor. Remember, the Killer is not there to make sure the Survivors have fun. If your playstyle is working for you (and obviously not utilizing any exploits/cheats), then keep it up.

Nor vice versa by that logic. People need to treat others playing the game like people. There is a responsibility to have sportsmanship and not be a total dick.

  • @Penfighter said:

What a broad topic you are opening up here.

Dead By Daylight survivor play is seen as different things by different people. When you don't play Killer the way they expect you to, you'll receive negative feedback after the match. Generally, it's a bad notion to spoil the fun (Iridescent Heads on Huntress for example, or face camping) and try to give them a fun time. Other than that, who knows, man? I've literally had someone complain about me downing them with Bubba's chainsaw. "That weapon is cheating, using it makes you trash" kinda thing.

As far as tunneling goes, I feel the term is used too lightly. For example, if you are injured and are running away from me with another survivor who is fully healthy, then I'm gonna hit you, the injured person. It's just a better strategy than hitting the healthy guy who is gonna now have a speed boost and start looping me. That is not tunneling. Tunneling would be me getting you, hooking you, and then either camping you so you die or then chasing you down to the exclusion of all else for the sake of a mori or another hook.

But they'll complain about it no matter what you do. If you don't go and hook everyone at least once before hooking them again, they'll call it tunneling. Sigh.

Nah fam. Tunneling is simple. If someone gets off hooked and you jet right back to the hook to down them, you tunneled. If you camped, you camped. You can camp, and then tunnel...if ur bad at camping. But a tunnel is what it is.

  • It's more effective when they face random squads.

I bet you were one of those people saying OG Prayer Beads were OP and you shouldn't need to run a perk like Spine Chill to counter a killer add on. :)

Never said survivors are in perfect balance.

Never said killers need to apply more pressure.

Never had an issue with praire beads.

    Never run spine chill.

It don't destroy items anymore since they stay when their charges are used up. Not sure if charges effects the key though for opening hatch. Pink key though has way too many seconds.

Franklin's has never destroyed items as far as I know? Making someone drop a tiny dark key on the map while in a chase makes it very hard to find again. Also, killing them makes it impossible. 😂👍

  • Also, don't wanna burn a perk... Simple, kill the survivor. 🤷‍♀️

  • @HollowsGrief said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1185918#Comment_1185918

You're right, a killer should have to change their entire build around a perk that is mediocre at best just so they can counter an item that is brought into nearly every game and has no effect on the survivor build. Just change your entire build and killer to counter this one item! BaLaNcE!

I sense sarcasm. Yes that's exactly what I would expect from someone whining about keys. Run the perk that counters them when you see them. Are you so dependent on your existing build it's easier to complain in the forum than it is to swap a perk for a lobby?? BTW, killers get that luxury of choice, survivors don't. Keys are brought into like one in every 10 matches I play. And that exact same advice is standard from every killer about camping tunneling and slugging. "there are perks for that"... So cry me a river you gotta pick up one perk to take out every "toxic" key and flashlight you see whilst survivors entire load out is preventing abusive killer game play. 😂

Honestly imo doctor is one of the least fun killers to play against. I can't really articulate why, although part of it is that I face them so often. but anyways perhaps other people feel the same way.

He isn't my least fave, but I agree I don't find his matches very fun. Especially depending on the map. Its annoying to get inevitably downed because you can't vault or throw a palette. It's annoying to be constantly moving if you are revealed all the time. It's annoying to not even be able to heal without snapping out of it. He can waste a lot of your objective time while making quick work of chases in the right hands. Like I said, a lot to deal with, even before perks or add-ons.

  • @MigetMAN208 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1185912#Comment_1185912

Since you asked I'll tell you my basic strategy.

Step 1: Find a gen that has been worked on a little. Overcharge and Static Blast to find near by survivor(s)

Step 2: Chase first survivor seen. Get a hit off, maybe a down if they sweat a loop really hard but rarely.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1&2 several times, getting hooks when and where I can.

Eventually people start dying on hook. Not tunneling and I never camp a hook but still getting accused when I find hurt survivors cuz of the madness effect Doc inflicts.

Sounds fine to me. Probably just salty cuz doctor is frustrating (he has a lot of baseline abilities to deal with as a survivor) and his counter perk is not super useful in other matches so a lot of survivors don't run it. But no, it doesn't sound like it's you.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

No they are not. Moris can be countered in one way or another, even if it is extremely hard to counter, keys cannot be counted at all.

... Um, Franklin's? 😂 Killers get amnesia rq when talking about their precious mori.

  • Yeah, don't speak for survivor mains pls. Thanks.

  • Depends on who you ask.

Killer mains will say no, survivors are salty and entitled.

Survivor mains (that's me) will assume if you are constantly 3 and 4king that you are playing like a sweat with little consideration for someone else's match experience.

Since you provided no feedback on your actual play style could be anything or nothing. Who knows.

  • Gonna go with no. DS is fine. And if you choose to approach every survivor with caution because they might have it, that's your choice.

The OP said "since it came to Gamepass" which means they're playing on XBox. No dedicated servers, no penalties. DCs are rampant on XBox right now. I would say I get an average of 1 every 3 games when I play killer(yellow ranks) and 1 every 6 when I play survivor(green/purple ranks).

Sounds like you need to join the PC master race. 😉

Also amusing coming from someone repping a killer with Franklins. LUL

  • @The_Bootie_Gorgon said:

Mori spamming is bannable from the last response i heard from the devs. Tea bagging/clam slamming is not.

    Clam slamming 🤣 I'm dead.

  • Again, I have definitely experienced recently (on a character I was not running DS on) the situation where the killer hooked me, downed someone right in the same vicinity while someone came to off-hook me. I got off-hooked as the other person was getting put on the hook closest to mine (almost simultaneous, but I was off first) and by the time my feet hit the ground the killer was already turning and running at me. I got immediately downed 5 steps from the hook. In this case, if DS deactivated when that person was hooked, my perk would have proc'd for less than a second or two. I do see why it has a timer, and as a solo survivor, it's important that it stays that way.

  • Actually, we as a people share some responsibility to take care of each other to some degree. That's very evident by what is happening in our current society. So, it's not unreasable to expect people to A) avoid behavior that can cause issues for sensitive people and B) just not be #########.

If your friend had an actual seizure, they shouldn't be playing most games anyways. All games have a seizure warning for safety reasons, I'm not being unsympathetic but it was their choice to play the game. Don't blame something like that on someone else, because it could easily have been avoided. What does your friend care about more? Health or playing games?

And yeah, not being able to play sucks. But personally I'd rather not risk it since seizures can kill you.

Neither party is innocent in this case. Perhaps his buddy should reconsider what he is playing online. Perhaps the Killer shouldn't toxic mori spam people, for apparently more than one reason.
