They used to have a much more dirty, dark, gritty aesthetic but people wanted fancy, bright, colourful skins and then BHVR found out those sold really well they toned down the dark, dirty, gritty atmosphere across the board.
-
Oni is one of the stronger killers in the game. Yes he needs to get that first hit but all killers need sooome weakness.
-
It's a bit clunky and it's not always obvious who has the 'curse' buuut it can give useful info, especially for certain killers like Sadako or Dredge (rip)
-
You make it sound like killers only play those specific characters.
-
The HUD doesn't stop potatoes potatoing.
-
Yeah the servers are down.
-
I mean Knight was really good at camping a 3-gen and he didn't get nerfs.

I play Merchant and I keep getting players that give up 4/3 gens in.
Just gonna say this: her three-gen strat isn't as powerful as you think. If there's 2 survivors left than yeah it's nearly impossible. Any more survivors than that can have one loop/distract her. If she comes back to proxy gens, she technically isnt making progress by downing survivors.
Long story short, it's a skill issue. Not a design one.
There's no way to loop/distract her because a 3-gen killer isn't leaving their 3-gen. That's the point.
-
I find that survivors waste FAR more time in this game then killers.
Almost every game that makes it to endgame has survivors waiting at the exit gate until the timer runs out but it's pretty rare for killers to unecessarily toy with survivors.
-
If the killer has the right perks and actually commits to just patrolling the 3-gen then there's nothing you -can- do. Even a good 4 man on comms can't do anything against a killer like Knight, Doctor or Skull Merchant with a gen-kick build who doesn't let themselves get lured away from their 3-gen.
-
They're infinite because the survivors can just deactivate them.
-
If you recently had your annual Twins game then you won't have to worry about looping Victor for quite a while.

"M1" is a colloquialism, not a definition. It doesn't apply to console for one thing.
Every killers power helps them get the 'm1', so that's not a definition either.
But high mobility powers result in a markedly different playstyle to those that have to walk at base speed or have to be in base range to attack.
It's all about playstyle and how survivors have to interact with the killer.
That makes the most sense. Killers with no mobility who are forced to just run around the loop until the pallet is dropped are generally the killers people call m1 killers. Killers that techincally only damage with m1s but who have good antiloop are rarely called m1 killers, so I think you're onto something.
I just find it odd how the name 'm1 killer' stuck when it seems to be more about chasing/looping potential and has basically nothing to do with 'how' they actually damage survivors.
-
@Seraphor said:
Nurse and Blight are definitively not "M1" killers, because they have special attacks.
A blink + attack and a lethal rush are definitely not basic attacks.
Spirit is a little more vague, but I'd put her in the "not M1" box due to how she can combo phasing with attacks.
An "M1" killer is generally regarded as a killer that relies on basic attacks, and doesn't have a power that either gives greater mobility*, range, or loop denial**.
* If that mobility cannot be used in a chase, e.g. Freddy and potentially Sadako, then it could be debatable.
** If the loop denial is purely passive, such as Trapper, Skull Merchant, then this is also a little vague.
I understand why you'd put them on the 'not m1 killer' list, it's exactly why most people don't, however the very name m1 killer does imply it's all about using the m1, otherwise it'd be 'basic attack killer'. If however you -are- using the arguement that it's about basic attacks, then Spirit would HAVE to be an m1 killer. Yes her power helps her get the m1s, but most non-damaging killer powers help you get the m1.

It's kind of hard to describe and I don't think there's a neat "definition" for it. Generally it would be considered a killer whose primary way to attack is M1. But I don't think anyone would ever consider The Nurse to be a M1 killer and at least I would argue that Myers IS a M1 killer (even though Nurse can only hit with a M1 attack and Myers has Tier 3).
With how complicated some of the attacks are, it's almost more of....a feeling than it is a hard rule.
Just looking at the list, this would be my personal breakdown of M1 killers:
Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Doctor, Myers, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Plague, Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Cenobite, Onryo, Dredge, and Skull Merchant
Some of those wouldn't "technically" be M1 killers if you go by their powers (Myers, Pyramid Head, Plague, and Demo being the outliers). Trapper would definitely not be if you go with the "Their powers can't hurt you" definition but I can't imagine there are many people who would call Trapper not a M1 killer
So...that's my long winded way of saying IDK :D
I totally understand when you say it's more a 'feeling' than an actual strict rule. I think that's what the community as a whole seems to go by, even though as you say there are plenty of exceptions. Trapper can injure and even grab people off of hooks without ever using an m1, but most people consider him an m1 killer, and as you say, almost no one puts Nurse on the list even though if she -only- uses her power, she can't damage anyone.
Myers would always be an m1 killer, his power is stalking but it doesn't damage. Even in t3 he needs to m1 in order to down/kill people.
I would however strongly disagree with Demo and Pyramid Head, they're two of the obvious 'not m1 killers' since they can consistantly deal damage with their power. If you consider them m1 killers then you could just call ALL killers m1 killers.

If this killer would have been released in 2017 "one of the best chapters ever". It speaks on how the game has changed though, this chapter has received more hate than Twins and not even in regards to bugs but general power.
It's clear sky that nobody enjoys killers that have no anti-looping power. However, again in comparison to the old days... this would be a hit.
We have to go on with the game's flow, we will see what they bring next to us. I personally enjoy her, she is hard too.
The devs can't win in that regard. When they bring out anti-loop killers, survivors complain that looping is pointless and all they can do is hold Shift + W.
When they bring out killers without anti-loop, killers complain that they just get looped for ages and can't do anything.
With how the game currently is though, killers do need -some- kind of anti-loop in their kit or else you simply can't beat a team of good loopers. Some really good survivors simply -don't- fall for mind games and then the chase is literally just circling a pallet a half-dozen times, hit them, they run to another loop, you run around it another half-dozen times, then Dead Hard... That or it's pre-drop every pallet on the map while their teammates bash out gens.

They could increase the time it takes for you to get the disarmed drone back in your pool. Currently it's 10 seconds maybe they could increase it to 20 or 25 seconds that way if you coordinate well disarming the drones would have more of an impact.
Why nerf her though? She needs buffs if anything.
-
Knight is still better at locking down a 3-gen so I don't know why people are only now complaining about it.
-
It would be problematic to not have exhaustion and let it stack with other exhaustion perks, so no.
-
I find the Skull Merchant kinda fun to play.

As a someone who has been playing survivor a little more than killer something has to be done about these cheap tactics that killers love to defend. If you have to tunnel you’re bad and need to get better. If you hold a three gen from the start you are bad, if you camp at 5 gens ur bad. Tunneling and camping are stale strategies and killers do it for easy wins but god forbid a swf gen rushes for "easy wins" Killers are hypocritical and i’m over it. The tunneling and camping is genuinely draining the fun out of games for survivors. I haven’t even mentioned the slugging for the 4k all of this is not fun. Before anyone says "bring anti tunneling perks" The anti tunneling perks we have are trash. Ds is a joke. Otr is useless especially if you’re being tunneled bc of basekit bt once they hit you otr is gone.
I mean if a killer needs to tunnel in order to win surely they -don't- need to get better because they can just tunnel and tunnelling isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
I agree tunnelling is a big issue in DBD but there's not much that can be done to 'fix' it without completely changing the way hooks/kills work, which BHVR doesn't wanna do because they risk losing players.
-
Because one-shot killers and Legion are generally low-tier, and can just be looped for ages.
-
Sometimes if I'm playing killer and there's multiple high prestige survivors in lobby. Otherwise never.
-
The new version isn't as unhealthy for the game, and it does at least have a niche in flashy-save/breakout/sabo builds.
-
I got it on my first game with her, though I did get really lucky and got Midwich.
-
Yeah I've actually been having fun with her as well. She's still weak and she'll be even worse when survivors get more used to her but for now she's pretty cool to play.

There's nothing crazy about that. Her drones still don't accomplish much, especially when there still is 4 survivors left.
Having them cover most of the map and people on one floor unable to get to the drone is pretty big.
-
Make Your Choice hinges heavily on you knowing who activated it, and you NEED to be far from the hook to let it activate.
It's stupid changes like this that really make me wonder if anyone at BHVR even plays their game.
-
It does seem odd when self-healing is one of the main issues in this game, they make this perk -only- work against healing others. Weird.
-
I mean her entire design seems to be leaning into 'sexy lady'. At least her default skin isn't revealing, it's just boring.
-
She's pretty crazy on Midwich, just put a drone in each corner and that's most of the map covered.
-

I would not say 3 Gens Eruption Knight is low S tier.
Tier is the chase time efficient and combined with their own build-in slowdown.
Force survivors to giving up, suicide on hook, stop playing after 1 hour match isnt a high tier Killer.
I mean what tier a killer is is really just based on their win rates. Yeah, a killer shouldn't -only- have a good win rate because of a very specific, OP build, but as long as they get wins consistantly, they're high tier.
-
The ONLY use of luck offerings is to use with Slippery Meat. That's it. Never use them otherwise.
-
I got lucky with it this time but yeah those challenges can really suck. All you can do is bring a key and hatch offering and hope for the best.

Yup. Nightfall is way way too dark. That needs to be fixed, otherwise I don’t have a problem with dredge. I think he’s a legit scary killer and can be fun/scary to verse especially when you’re going against a skilled player.
Nightfall -needs- to be really dark, otherwise what's the point of it?
In his PTB it wasn't that dark and it was literally pointless.
-
The main issue is that there are heavily uneven maps, not neccessarily the offerings themselves. That said they certainly could change them to only increase the chance to get that map, not make it guarenteed.
-
I've always found the community events a bit... meh really. I mean login rewards are so common in DBD that that part isn't really special, and with map offerings as common as they are, even a higher chance of certain maps isn't really that big of a deal for me either.
I'll certainly take some free iri shards but that's really it.

Nah, man. Not a troll. I know and understand his power in the game and how good he can be. I just haven't went against one of these super Blights.
Also, even without whatever this exploit is? Are you sure? I think people have said fixing it would really bring him down a peg or seven. I don't know. Unless he becomes a problem for me, I don't feel anything need be done with him lol.
Why are you laughing out loud at that post?
-
@Phasmamain said:
Yeah if we’re going by that logic then Artist was meant to be candyman and legion was meant to be Ghostie
It’s just BHVR’s take on a style of horror character so of course there will be overlap
I've always seen Legion as discount Ghostie to be fair, though Skull Merchant isn't even vaguely similar to Predator.
-
I've had games where we get 2 gens done before a survivor goes down, and then the survivor kills themself on hook. Like what? We're doing well and you're giving up?
-
@Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:
Even with this 'tech' I feel he's still kind of weak. Likely why its not a priority. This 'tech' is the only thing keeping him afloat as a useable killer. Not saying it should be removed or not, just saying lol.
Blight is universally considered the second strongest killer in the game, even without this exploit.
-
BBQ doesn't stop tunneling, you can just tunnel someone out and then hook everyone else.
-
Pennywise's power would be completely different to clown so that wouldn't be an issue. Also it doesn't really matter how strong a killer's power is in their own universe, they'll be adjusted by the entity so they don't just 4k each game.
-
@Nirgendwohin said:
why not a perk that creates fake KI like Red Herring does for notification?
Not gonna really do much to all the killers that don't use KI.
-
@LooeDbD said:
just make mmr based on hooks. boom solved
And then hardcore tunnelers will end up against bad survivors and they'll get even more wins. Plus it means people new to the game will just get put against tunnelers nearly every game.
-
@SirCracken said:
The no-brain change was to make the perk give the person you unhooked the 6 seconds sprint burst.
Why didn't they do this? It would become the most powerful anti-tunnel perk in the game!
There's already a perk that gives the person you unhook a speed boost. They're not gonna just make a another perk that does a similar thing.
-
Oh god, Lightborn threads are always warzones.
As far as I'm concerned, if you wanna not have to worry about flashies, go for it. If you're fine countering flashies, then don't run it, easy.

A killer forcing a 3 gen is risky when there are 4 players. They give up every other gen and even a tight 3 gen can be broken, 4 v1 is pretty steep odds. Admittedly if they are running decent regression then it can be extremely hard. Thing is you don't even need killer to fully engage in chase. You just need to flip flop them between the 2 furthest gens.
And yh 3 gens in solo q are awful, it's why I nearly never play solo q. And I've been suggesting all sorts of buffs to exclusively help solo q. Yesterday's update helps a bit but solo q still needs more love particularly at low mmr.
That may have been the case back in the day but with a full gen-kicking build, even four survivors can't really do much about it.
-
I guess I'm more shocked that Jane got a new skin.

Who's that on the right? It's not Kate surely. Jane?
