  • BHVR frequently makes awful decisions and is still pushing on with the severely anti-consumer FOMO skins. Why would I give them more money?

no not really because I'm talking about a situation that is uncounterable, I can not save someone from a camping bubba without a second person who is fully healed, so that's why I say it about this

gen slow down is only a result of skill, when gens fly by it means you are failing to apply pressure to the team, so that's why you need it, I'm not saying that's an issue but in no way should gen slowdown perks become base kit considering its counterable, you can kill survivors

so to answer your question no, you can not also say this about killer perks

You can't save someone from a camping Bubba anyway. Unless the Bubba makes a big mistake, he can down everyone coming for the save.

  • For new Billy players it's maaaaybe a buff? Like learning him will be slightly less punishing but even as a new player I can't see people overheating that often from just revving even nowadays.

For good Billy players it's definitely a nerf and I don't know why they're doing it because almost everyone agrees Billy is in a rough spot and needs buffs more than anything.

DH and CoH needed nerfs and while the DH nerf is.. decent, maybe slightly overkill, the CoH nerf means it'll almost never be used. Getting rid of the self-heal should have meant it be buffed back up to +100% altruistic heal speed. No point wasting time finding a totem and booning it -just- for 50% faster speed healing others, even with the admittedly pretty nifty aura buff.

  • Once Oni starts getting hits/downs/hooks he gets his power pretty quickly and consistently. Heck even the act of healing leaves a massive amount of blood orbs for him so it really isn't as good of a counter as some people think it is.

Oni's main weakness is his early game and getting his power the first time and this will remain unchanged.

  • I think they'll probably revert the global healing nerf because it's not what anyone wanted. DH, CoH and midkits nerfs I think will stay.

    Extending chases

Yes, if you run adrenaline, resilience, and bring a BNP you can rush gens and heal with adrenaline.

Your point about extending chases is 100% correct, and why people will pre drop every pallet to avoid taking damage.

And survivors will burn Borgo, The Game, or Garden to make sure they have as much time to pre drop as possible.

24 seconds base heals are a complete waste of time, botany or no. Split up, work injured, bang out gens faster than the killer can snowball.

    Edit: autocorrect.

    I'll bring my rank 1 Self-Care, thanks.

"Just be a SWF then" is what you basically just said. You're not tackling the issues within solo-q

If someone hates the state of solo queue -that- much, there's nothing stopping them from finding people to play with and form a SWF. If they don't wish to form a swf and they hate playing solo queue, then either play killer or play another game.

Voice coms would completely ruin DBD.

  • Yeah but they went back on that and kept it at total progress thankfully.

  • 'already bad perk'. Sure Jan.

  • It's a healthy change. A killer shouldn't be massively weaker just because someone brought a particular item into the game. Hag NEEDED Franklin's if she even smelt a flashlight because it countered her so hard. Likewise NOT having anyone with a flashlight made Hag much, much stronger and meant it was much harder for survivors to do anything against her.

This way they got rid of her massive weakness, while giving all survivors a less efficient way of getting rid of traps.

Overall it probably will be quite a big nerf to her and I do hope they give her some buffs down the road after collecting data from this change, but it's much healthier.

Also as mentioned, huge healing nerfs will mean hit-and-run killers like Hag are much stronger.

  • CoH definitely deserved to be heavily nerfed. Being able to reliably heal yourself is really strong and giving all survivors that at a decent speed was straight up broken. No one will use the new CoH though, it was nerfed into the ground.

Dead Hard needed something and this nerf does keep it as strong as it currently is, it just discourages -everyone- bringing it, and it ensures it can't be used in the first chase of the game.

  • Prove Thyself barely saves anytime on gens, you know.

  • People wanted a meta shakeup. They tried with 6.1 but people complained it wasn't enough and the same perks just kept being used. This is literally what the playbase was asking for.

I'm very happy that Dead Hard and Circle of Healing are dead though, hahahah.

Yes the complaint was incapacitated and then they completely destroyed its Regression as well. Like I said before even survivors we saying it was overkill.

Eruption has the same regression that it had before the nerf.

  • True. Killers that want to tunnel will tunnel regardless of whether they 'need' to or not. Increasing gen times just makes tunnelling stronger.

  • It's not realistic to expect someone to care about the other side in a pvp video game. You know nothing about the people on the other team, you'll likely never bump into them ever again, plus in games like this, when one side does well, often it's at the other side's expense. One side having fun usually means the other side isn't having much fun, and this is common in many pvp video games.

Add onto that the fact that even if you DO play in a 'nice' way, you're still likely to get flamed in endgame chat for doing something wrong and not playing in the exact way that person wanted.

Add onto THAT the fact the other side rarely ever cares about -your- fun either, so why bother caring about theirs?

There are a multitude of reasons to not factor in the amount of enjoyment that complete strangers on the internet are having, and because everyone's idea of how -you- should play varies wildly between person to person, the only thing you can really control is your own fun, so focus on that.

You want the worst perk in the entire game?

    CORRECTIVE ACTION

Not only it has an extremely minor, barely noticeable effect. Not only it is the definition of a very situational perk.

On top of that is TOKEN BASED.

    my god

At least it doesnt make you weaker like Calm Spirit or No Mither.

  • I mean yeah just blatent facecamping, even if you're Bubba or infinite t3 Myers, is generally a bad idea and if the survivors do what they're supposed to do, will usually result in a 2 or 3 man out pretty easily.

The problem isn't that it's OP, the problem is that it just makes the game boring for all the survivors. The person on the hook doesn't get to actually play and basically only has 1 chase and then dies with barely any BP, and the other survivors just sit on gens all game and leave, again with fairly low BP.

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

I'm still not sure why you have to hide the names to post videos like this. The killer and survivor play within the BHVR game rules.

If BHVR don't want player to play like this, they could change the rules or ingame mechanics. As always, I don't understand why the developer is taking a two-pronged approach here.

The reason is that the thread is positing that the behaviour displayed in the video is bad, therefore the killer player was in the wrong. That's why you can't show the name because otherwise it's 'naming and shaming'

  • Blanket buffs no but there are a bunch of killers in this game that do need some noticible buffs to their power. Trapper, Myers (though nerf tombstone piece), Clown, Knight.

  • I've seen videos with the old animations and they were awful. Eww, please no.

  • @BenOfMilam said:

It's way too easy to tunnel in general right now, especially as killers that have strong tracking (like using Legion's Frenzy to find your tunnel target).

Once you have the 3v1, you just camp hook when you catch the second guy and the survivors simply cannot win.

The problem with tunneling is quite obviously the fact that you can force a 3v1 fairly early. I've proposed shared hook states before, so it is literally impossible to force a 3v1 until everyone is on death hook. The community hated it, probably because all the reddit killers can't win without hardcore tunneling.

Shared hook states have a couple of glaring issues. The first is that you'd basically be asking every killer to 8-hook before getting any kills. The game balance simply isn't designed around that. Assuming matchmaking is working correctly, survivors will complete the gens and leave before the killer gets their 9th hook and actually starts killing. You're moving the game to the complete opposite of tunneling which just doesn't work in practise, and would require a huge blanket buff to killers.

The other issue is that if there's an obvious weak link in the team, the killer would still be incentivised to 'tunnel' that survivor. Instead of being tunnelled for 3-hook states the bad-looper would be tunnelled for 9 hook-states until they died and now the other 3 survivors are all on death hook.

  • It is pretty odd. Like yeah the average is gonna be less because the killer is guarenteed to be there for the entire game and survivors can die but even when you compare survivors who escape to killer, killer still usually wins out.

  • I mean they're not gonna be releasing new ones every single chapter, there's only like 3 new perks on each side usually.

  • Otz suggested giving Overwhelming Presense a lingering effect after you leave the terror radius and that would make it a good deal better.

  • Condemn Sadako is actually pretty damn strong, that's probably why they haven't buffed her yet.

  • They already give 1000BP, increasing that to 1250 isn't gonna do anything.

  • Unfortunatly BHVR have ruled out any sort of 'Health Chapter' because they were confident they could deal with any issues the game has whilst maintaining their current schedule of new characters

    ... yeah.

  • I guess they wanted it to be a surprise but like 95% of people just don't know what it's about. If it gets them asking and these threads pop up mentioning the new game then it's sorta working maybe? I dunno a news bulletin ingame would have still been better.

  • Having a p100 or multiple high prestige survivors makes MANY more killers dodge. Also if there's 3/4 medkits or multiple flashlights then many killers will dodge too.

I myself rarely dodge but if there's a couple of high prestige I'm usually gonna dodge because in my experience those sorta games are miserable as killer.

And if backfilling does indeed just throw matchmaking out the window, then it would definitely explain a lot of uneven games, just because dodging is so common.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

From what I understand if you interact with that and escape as a survivor you can earn 3 charms. Not sure what you have to do as a killer, maybe just interact with it?

It's kind of neat for a surprise to pop up in the game but at some point they should explain how it works 🤷

I think there's only one charm.

  • The devs know about it and haven't fixed it in months. If it was anything even close to report-worthy they'd simply kill switch Blight.

  • Inner Healing has always been a good perk but with boons being as popular as they are there is anti-synergy there, and if a Mikaela ever sees you cleansing a dull totem, there'll be hell to pay.

Also screws up your team if the killer has Pentimento but that's a pretty rare perk to encounter so it's not as much if an issue.

  • p100 is pretty impressive, even nowadays. I'm too much of a completionist to go for it, I wanna unlock all the perks, bloody cosmetics and charms from everyone so I just split my BP even on people I never play.

  • There certainly are some outright trash perks on both sides but there's also a lot of decently-good perks that never see play because why bring a B-tier perk when you can just bring A-tier perks?

  • I'm pretty happy with Shelter Woods actually. It needed a main bulding and the new building suits her. Does feel somewhat out of place but it at least adds a little varity.

Get rid of the god window though.

  • I mean Potential Energy is the opposite of a gen-rush perk, it makes gens noticeably slower.

Some have speculated that this might have been an intended thing, another shadow-drop event like the Silent Hill gnomes a while back.

Ah yes the well known Silent Hill Gnome.

    in Gemat? Comment by Krazzik
  • It's a mini-event, like a mini-mini-mini event. You can only grab one for 200 BP each game and after you earn the charm I don't think there's anything else to do.

    in Gemat? Comment by Krazzik
  • It's like when all female survivors made no fall noise a while back. They're not gonna kill-swtch all female survivors are they?

  • Flashlights probably, never use em. Maps likely a second because again, once you know sorta where totems and gens tend to spawn they're not that useful.

  • The issue is that most horrible things said in endgame chat are fine according to BHVR. If it isn't a slur or real life threats then they don't care, and consider it 'typical online banter'. It's truly disgusting.

  • I love Plague but I don't know how healthy it is to just completely nulify medkits and healing addons with no effort.

  • It's a lot more fair now that even disorganised solo players can reliably cleanse it before going for the save, but it's still decently strong and can catch survivors off guard.

The only issue with it is if the killer hooks a survivor right next to it, but at the very least the other survivors can just leave.

  • Hmm, I can understand that going back and updating it may be unfair for people who has already gotten it but I do simply think that BHVR should just go back and add more DLC into it while keeping the price the same.

£3.87 saving for buying that much DLC is pretty crap. It defeats the point of even buying all of it in bulk because the saving is so small. Add the rest of the original DLC (minus SM) in there for the same price and it actually becomes much better value and an actual enticing thing for new people to buy to start off with a bunch of characters unlocked. Big DLC packs like that are supposed to offer a good deal to make up for the fact you're buying so much at once.

  • 3-gens have always been a thing but before they buffed gen-kick perks, and before they released back-to-back killers who excel at holding down an area, it was harder to do, and survivors actually had a chance at breaking the 3-gen down. Ruin+Undying could be cleansed and Pop required the killer to actually chase, so even a killer trying to hold a 3-gen would usually still try a bit more to chase, and even if they didn't, smart survivors could slowly chip away at the gens since base regression is garbage.

Now with CoB/Overcharge/Nowhere to Hide and even Eruption thrown in, there's simply nothing even a good 4-man can do to break it against certain killers. The slowdown SM's drones and Knight's guards give ensures that CoB can undo what small amounts of progress survivors can even do. In the meantime the killer will be looking for easy injures and trying to clear all pallets nearer to the 3gen to make it even harder for survivors and slow em even more.

  • A 3-genning killer can dodge lobbies if they see a toolbox.

  • I mean as killer I usually blame myself if I can see I simply played badly, but there are times where you simply got a bad map and some crappy tile placement and that's not something many killers can do much about. Also MMR can always sometimes put you against people who are simply much better than you, and again all you can try to do is your best, and learn from misplays.

As survivor it's similar but you do sometimes get potato teammates.

  • Oh I loooove the scream change, it's awesome.
