Same, i made a long post about this in which i pretty much got chewed out and told its only happening to me.

I mean killers got the key changes they wanted. But you're never happy lol. Yall should know when you cry for survivor nerfs and get them, survivors get something else strong..
I'm a 60/40 killer player. I play killer 60%. The changes didn't bother me and I welcome more challenges. I don't want easy killer games. I also never camp and tunnel. But I also rarely use totem perks. I think this is a good way for killers to decide more is camping and tunneling worth it? They have a totem now helping them
Most killers want fair killer games. Not easy. Its not fun when all the killers who interest someone happen to have bad map pressure so gens pop left right and center while a couple of smurf survivors run rings around you.

Old Freddy nerfs? But he's a completely reworked killer now.
Yes, Billy does. Every killer special attack has a cooldown. Why should a Billy be able to rev the chainsaw without repercussions? Just enables facecamping, this makes sure chainsaw use is calculated. And hopefully they're correcting his add-ons with the upcoming mid-chapter patch.
You just said Trapper is getting buffed.. that's the opposite of a nerf.
These are some pretty bad examples mate.
I think his point is it took them 5 years to buff trapper when hes needed them more than others who have been buffed in the past few years.
They're not really bad examples. This will be a matter of opinion either, in which neither of you can be right. There will always be one person who thinks a nerf is unjustified and another who thinks its well overdue.
-
Its a different style of game. Just because its 4v1 doesnt really mean its a competitor.
Its also still looks very, very rough around the edges.

Unlike Clown his slowdown is effective against windows and pallets, plus he has built in map pressure + info. I believe he can be a very decent killer with some tweaks and buffs. Overall pretty good compared to a lot of killers when they were just released.
Maybe against low ranked players. In mid to higher ranks hes far too easy to loop even if his possessed chain hits me. He has to be running 1 of 3 addons to have any viability. Not sure what map pressue he has either?
Right about the tweaks and buffs though. He needs them badly. But he is unique and fun to play, Just frustrating against any survivor with a shred of experience and stands zero chance against a swf group with mild looping skills.
-
A real issue here is the vast majority of killers struggle playing fairly against a 3 or 4 man swf. If you buff Solo without buffing killers, Killers are at an even bigger disadvantage. Voice comms must never be allowed in the current state. Only if killers were buffed immensely would i condone VC, and even then its a touchy subject cause maybe someone doesnt want to join, maybe someone doesnt want to talk, maybe someone doesnt want to listen to some sweaty bellend shouting obscenities down the mic because you went down after 30 seconds of looping instead of 35. Which will only fuel disconnections and cause more problems.
Kindred Baseline for everyone, Its not a powerful perk. Maybe change it to just give a notification instead of an aura of the killer when the killer is within 16 meters of the hook.
I would be for debuffing SWF tbf. I know people love it but personally i get bored when im in a 4 stack cause 9 times out of 10 ill survive and have sod all to do all game but press M1 on a gen or M1 on a totem.
For SWF, reduce the number of perk slots per member of the team.
For 2 people, they get 3 perks each
For a 3 man swf, they get 2 perks each
For a 4 man swf they each get 1 perk, or 2 perks and no offering/addon slot.
Id find that a lot better and challenging, and more strategy would go into a 4 stack. Right now u see 4 stacks running the same meta. Well, now each will have to define a role. I know this will never happen, but id have so much fun as a survivor in a 4 stack if it did.

He sounded incredibly similar to me. Same inflection and everything. If the line didn't need to be changed from "we" to "I" I would have guessed that it might have been isolated audio from the film itself.
They dont. Maybe to your ears, but the moment i heard them i knew it was very different. You can still listen to the files on the dbd wiki. But i noticed from the 1st time i heard it on otz stream on the PTB that they didnt sound anything like his proper voice.

And don't you think that's a problem? Don't you think that having a game that is so fundamentally unbalanced that you would be better off doing asinine challenges instead of trying to win is a problem?
These games are NOT infrequent anymore. It's one of these, then a game against complete babies.
100%. Killer is vile to play at the moment. And i agree with you about the MMR.
I've played around 100 killer games in the past 2 weeks, averaging around 7 per day id say. 40% playing Pinhead, 40% playing Pyramid Head. 20% other killers like doctor, freddy, wraith etc.
Pyramid Head is a character before MMR came in i usually got a 4k on. I literally cannot remember the last time i got less than a 3K on him. Yet in the past two weeks ive had occasional groups who go full sweat gen rush and thats fine....but im also getting at least half my games against survivors who play like they're extremely new. They cant loop, they cant dodge my POTD, they get caught out by such silly things.
This would all be fine except on Pinhead, Wraith, Doc and the others, i continually get matched with survivors with a total combined playtime of around 20K hours, if not more (30k in a few instances). These are killers i average out as a 1-3K when i dont tunnel/camp and yet i get better survs playing the killers im obviously weaker at.
So for me its
Play the killers im stronger at = Get potato survivors
Play killers i dont do that well on = Get 4 stack SWF sweat teams who average out at 8K hours each.

The trick is leading. Thats where all the skill comes in. You got a couple different shots with him. If you aim to hit a survivors back, you're giving them a lead, hits like this only work when you know they have no direct obstacle to lean into. The trick is wherever you hook them from is your hooks anchor. So in situations like that you aim your shot in front of their path and do a quick 180 flick to hit them from their face. They then end up running towards the chains giving you the maximum distance to catch up and land an M1. The 180s are insanely difficult to pull off, but if you can get used to landing shots from multiple angles, you can shut down those loops, and especially the ones where camping a pallet is involved.
Alrighty, im pretty sure i land a lot of front facing chains especially in jungle gyms and it makes no difference, but ill test this out more thoroughly over the next few days. Thanks =]

Also Deathslinger, but that's just because they changed the sensitivity settings on console once in the Binding of Kin patch, and once again at a later date, meaning all the muscle memory I'd built up for flick shots and the like became worthless.
Getting a vote up purely cause of the name you gave hillbilly.
To the OP, Freddy yeah, he has been destroyed. Used to main him and now hes just boring and annoying to play as.
Pinhead also slightly. I was looking forward to him and expecting him to be viable. But hes not.

You cut the loop short as you would with clown, except pinhead can shoot his power through walls.
Does that work for you? Whenever i do that they just break it using the environment and i gain little to no ground. Or they break, run to pallet and early pallet slam.
It always feels when i use it in loops, they just get broken and they make it to a pallet so its a waste of time.

Considering Clive Barkers regaining the rights to Pinhead in december, its probably him not being happy with the voice lines.
He is very protective of his work and characters and rightly so after having his creations butchered for the past 25 years and milked dry.
While he isnt the license holder atm, BHVR would have had some contact with him considering when its time for license renewal, he will be the owner. So its better to stay on his good side.
Pinhead has to be kept lore friendly if they want to retain the rights. Barker will not take kindly to anything he sees as poorly done. I wouldnt be shocked if he asked for all references to his name be taken out considering his hate for the name Pinhead.

"What exactly do you do with that many disgusting structures linked together exactly?"
Play spirit and nurse....pretty much those 2 are the only ones who can consistently hard counter them. With pinhead and Blight being a close second. I mean its not a solution because you have to pretty much ignore 80% of the rest of the killer roster but.....yeah....
How does Pinhead counter them? I've not seen any streams/videos of Pinhead players countering, nor can i myself.

I know I do. The new MMR did actually improve quality of my teammates fairly well. There are still some games with not the smartest players but overall, the gen pressure my teammates push out compared to before is much bigger even vs great killers.
I wish it didn't make my killer que times much longer though. If that were the case, I would even consider this system, good (even when it's seemingly very simple and shouldn't have taken 1,5 years to create).
Hopefully the que times get better later on.
No, not at all. Im dying a lot more and am being put with survivors who cant do anything. Im the only one in the vast majority of my games who can loop longer than 15 seconds. At leasat 50 - 60% of my games has at least one, if not two other survs who go and hide as soon as they hear a small terror radius, even if that killer is chasing someone else.
I mean, after looping someone for 3 gens yesterday, i finally went down by a pallet, a felix was nearby, with a flashlight so im thinking awesome, im sure to be saved here. As the killer was picking me up, Felix decided to flashlight THE BACK OF THE KILLERS HEAD. Then when he realised that didnt work, ran over and slammed the pallet down after the killer had moved me away from it.
Another Horror story was on 1 of the springwood maps against a spirit, i had been hooked once, another surv tunnelled out the game and 2 other survs on 0 and 1 hooks respectively. Im on the last gen, i get it to around 90% in the house upstairs, and Spirit finds me, i then loop her for around 2 and a half - 3 minutes, being hit once and not going down. Im thinking why hasnt a gen popped??? She finally gave up and so i went to the nearest gen thinking a surv would be there or been chased off and its almost done. 1st gen....no progress on it. I go on to the next, and again...no progress on it. So i looped for 3 minutes and they did nothing. Literally nothing. Just hid hoping id go down and the killer would find the other instead of doing a gen or finishing off mine. I went back to the gen in the house, it was around 70% Spirit had obviously recently gone back and hit it, and knew the others were useless so came back to the house, and i lost the will to do anything so let her hook me. When i could spectate, 1 of them was hiding at the end of the road behind the stone blocks not moving, the other walking round the edge of the map.
This is the level of survivor the game keeps putting me with. It seems to be punishing me for not being in a 4 man swf.

I thought a lot about it and i know i'll get lot of hate from this post but here me out : it actually makes sense, especially canon wise.
It was an amazing idea but it brought a problem : how to make it not be played when the killer is playing the Chatterer skin, or a future skin of an other Cenobite ? Would they need to get approval to record specific lines from the different Cenobites ?
Because that is probably the reason behind this removal. The devs made the right choice by calling Pinhead "The Cenobite". It allows them to add the 3 (only saw the movies once so i'm not sure there are only 3) other Cenobites without problem.
But the issue come when the voiceline of Pinhead would be played when playing Chatterer or the Female Cenobite (which will probable come). It would sounds weird and out of place. Same way we had - as a bug - Frank voice while using a Julie or Susie body when playing as Legion.
So for me until they figure out a way to either only play the voice line when it's Pinhead or get license agreement to record 3 others "voice lines", we won't get the voice lines back. And it's for the best.
-----
Please don't hate me too much, just voicing an opinion. You have the right not to agree with me but don't bash on me for it. Thank you and see you in the Fog !
Im glad they were removed since i found out it was a guy from BHVR doing the voices and not Doug Bradley (Pinhead actor)
There are many many different cenobites throughout the films. The first has 4, the second has 5 (an antagonist becomes one) and then 3,4,5,6,7.8 have about 40000 mostly all stupid looking.
Im all for the voice line removal. Idc about the other so called "voices" because they're just breathing, but Doug Bradleys voice is iconic and the guy from the game dont sound like him. You could say well, this pinheads based on the 9th or 10th hellraiser film but if thats the case then people should hang their head in shame.
If they get Bradley on board to do the voice then id be happy with it, but some bozo that dont sound like him can naff off.

Because he's like the 8th anti loop killer in a row and his chain hunt is incredibly obnoxious to deal with.
And I'm on console, he's overpowered as ######### against console players.
Hes not though. His chains are easy to counter and break. If you're keeping an eye on where he is in a loop, you can use objects to break the chains easy and make it to safety.
I've faced maybe 40 pinheads now since he got released. Total times they downed me - 2. And both was because they were camping at end game and i sacrificed myself for the save.
He is extremely easy to loop. All you got to do is early drop a pallet and hes done.

Thank you guys for the tips and support I thought I was alone on pinhead being awful and unfun to play as
Nah you're far from alone. Hes a fun killer to play but ultimately hes the most frustrating. I can land 100% possessed chain hits & have a chain hunt activate 5 times and still end up with a 0k or 1k without tunnelling. Just bad and naive design. Which is strange considering Cote has wanted him in dbd for 4 years. You'd think he'd want his favourite horror movie character to be playable.
-
Pinhead just feels unrewarding right now. Hes fun to play as but to counter him you literally just need to press W and drop pallets early. The ease of chain breaks is stupid. Especially in loops. The whole point of a power is to help you but at times, it hinders you and puts you back. I dont really understand his power like, what is it aiming to do?
If its to shorten loops, it doesnt, as they are so easily broken. If its to catch up when out in the open, you risk a chance of missing, and them gaining more ground or hittng and catching up a small amount of ground unless wide out in the open, and survs who have more than 150 hours will know to get to walls/LOS breakers rather than run into the open.
To me it just feels like they put him in (and its great that they did as im a hellraiser fan) and rushed things. Not thinking his power through enough. Hes yet another killer who just isnt viable or rewarding unless you put red/purple add ons on. Add ons should make a killer stronger, they shouldnt make it mandatory to enjoy.
Rewarding him for hitting his possessed chain is a much needed buff. Either make chains harder to break or incrase the number of chains to 5. Why were there no addons for this aswell? We have really poor addons to increase the chains movement which isnt needed but no Green addon to increase the number of chains for a possessed chain hit.
Iri Lament Config addon also needs to be baseline. The fact this was made iridescent shows to me the devs thought this would be too OP to have baseline, but it really isnt. Its something needed so the killer isnt destroyed on a consistent basis by holding W.

Same experience, same decision. I'm tunneling as well now. If i play nicely, i just get 1K max.
And yes, i saw it aswell, all 4 survivors running meta perks and bringing items. On my side it was more medkit (purple or grey + insta heal) and flashlights. Sometimes keys but less often than what you experience.
Yeah the game is in a disgustingly frustrating state at the moment.
As a killer, if you do not tunnel/camp, you get destroyed 9/10, getting 0 - 1 kills as every survivor is gen rushing hard, bringing 4 items, putting chest offerings, playing surv friendly maps like haddonfield.
As a survivor, im getting tunnelled or seeing others being tunnelled every single game. Even when killers take franklins.
I think one problem is that nobody knows what "winning" is that BHVR have talked about. BHVR can say 2 hooks is a win for killer or high BP is a win for surv but the majority of Survs consider winning to be getting out, even if they only score 12k and escaping and another team member gets 25K and dies, the survivor considers that a win whereas the one who died is frustrated and considers it a loss.
For killer, if you dont get a 4k, a lot see it as a failure. Some dont and are happy with a 3K but that was rare even before this latest patch.
Im not even seeing chill games anymore. When someone would come into a match and be AFK, the killer would maybe down them but understand this persons afk so usually didnt hook. Now they get hooked and tunnelled, even if still afk when unhooked.
The game just feels far too sweaty at the moment on all sides. As a killer its boring to tunnel, but if you dont you get teabagged, flashlight spammed, genrushed and then salted/spoken to like crap post game. I mean im a fairly friendly person and pre SBMM would make lots of friends on steam with my style of play or cause i reward good/funny playstyles and could have a laugh post game. Now when i dont tunnel and get 0-1K, i will always get at least 1 surv every 2 games saying how much i suck, to delete the game, i cant play killer, im useless, i got destroyed, im garbage etc. Its just words but its not nice to see idiotic survs crow like this every game they survive in. Its just flat out toxcity and yet these same people will cry hardcore if you tunnel. So you may aswell tunnel....
As a survivor, its boring to be tunnelled or see someone else get tunnelled constantly.
-
Before SBMM i got 4k's easy, zero tunnelling and zero camping.
But the past weeks been a nightmare for me as a killer. I havent camped or tunnelled til today, and this is out of desperation. I've been getting destroyed all week. Survs are taking items all the time now. I haven't had a lobby in days where a survivor comes in empty handed, and its one of two items. A Key or a Toolbox. Ive seen so many BNP's being used its unreal. Id say i see one every 3 games now. In 4 cases ive seen all 4 come in with BNP.
Gen rushing is even worse than before now. Thus today i took the option to tunnel and haven't lost a match since. Only way people escape is through hatch at the end, or if i drop them at the gate.
From now on, im going to tunnel as without it, i just dont have fun. And if survs dont have fun either, then well, thats not my problem.

It's been almost a week enough time for everyone's mmr rating to have settled...time to give bhvr some data.
So do you like the new system?
Simple yes or no and why😎
For me yes as solo survivor and no as killer.
I honestly dont know how to take SBMM at the moment.
When i play surv, its always me doing the long loops, always me doing gens. Being put with 1 or 2 survivors, who even though some have 100s or 1000s of hours if i can see them, are really really terrible at looping and just crouch behind things for 2 hours even when the killers nowhere near.
I was for SBMM because i thought it'd put me with survivors of my own skill level. Survs who can loop long enough for at least 30 seconds - 1 minute. Survs that do gens instead of sitting in a corner. Had a spirit the other day with 1 gen left, 2 other survs alive, i got a gen to 90%, looped for around 2 full minutes not falling for the spirits mind games, when i went down, neither other surv were on gens, 1 was crouching near a exit gate, the other hiding in a locker, when i got unhooked, i passed the other 2 gens and neither had even been started. Thats how my games are going all the time now. me and 1 other will be doing things, while 2 of the others dont have a clue or are just trolling.
Killer is a mixed bag. I've only been playing Pinhead since tuesday. I tend to have 1 game with extremely high skilled survs and 1 game with people i 4k without them getting more than 2-3 gens done. Rinse and repeat. Again this isnt SBMM, this is giving me one match with a low/high SBMM swf, then next game is easy domination.
Right now im finding SBMM strange. Very strange. Never experienced MMR in another game like this tbf.

Yeah I'm tired of people calling him weak. He isn't weak, the only reason why people think he's weak is because they aren't using his power right (his power is useless in long ranges), and his power actually takes skill to use. He's a B tier killer at worst.
I still think he could use some buffs though. Iridescent Lament Configuration should be base-kit IMO, but nerf it to 24m. Make long-range shots more rewarding somehow, like spawn extra chains depending on the range so that Pinhead can deal with W meta.
Wouldnt call him B tier. C tier maybe.
I agree with you about the addons. He needs buffing big time to make him moe viable. I'd go so far as to even say survs shouldnt see the box until they're within 16M at all. I don't think Pinhead is weak but he can be destroyed easily by just holding W against experienced teams or mildly experienced SWF. Especially on certain maps. In loops Pinhead is reliant on mind games and experienced survs just dont fall for them straight away which wastes a lot of time. People holding the Lament Box are learning where to open it and when to and it guts him. I've had one game in 20 this weekend where people wern't opening the box correctly.
Pinhead right now seems too reliant on Hoarder and Franklins. Killers shouldnt be reliant on two other perks to be viable. But again against experience, they realise you're running hoarder and wait til you''ve downed someone, run as far away as possible and then open when they start carrying, making you have to teleport to get anything out of it. Even with Larrys Remains.
Iri Lament needs to be baseline, More chains need to spawn from a chain hit. 3 just isnt enough. Im also quite shocked survs can still do actions like vault or throw pallets while they have chains attatched. Just taking that away makes him instantly better.
Its as Otz said about him really. Hes a mid tier killer that requires his best addons to be playable and needs improvement. If the Iri Lament config and one of the purple addons were baseline, along with survs being unable to use pallets/vaults when chained, he'd be in a much better position.

Twins is a very unpopular killer but they are very good if played well. Every killer since then is mediocre at best because they are just crappy by comparison.
New killer really is bad, thats just objectively true, has nothing to do with being just released.
They need the chains to do damage (maybe pinhead controls the other 2 chains that spawn as well and 3 successful hits injure a survivor), and for his teleport to not suck as much as it does, like spawn closer to survivors with the box.
Interesting idea about the chains. The teleport i believe will be tweaked. See this is where i have sympathy with BHVR over balancing. When new killers come out and they're very strong, or an ability is very strong, this forum and their twitter gets absolutly flooded with survs whineing about being unable to play against, too OP etc. The hyperbole with underpowered killers does seem to be less. So with every new killer it does seem like they are releasing them a bit weak and then fine tuning them so that they seem more powerful in the next patch. Really they should probably be doing a longer Beta for these killers rather than 3 weeks so they can be released in a better place.
Chains should be doing damage after a few hits though. Definitely agree with that.

Again, I haven't played him with add-on's because he keeps crashing the game. However, without add-ons he reminds me a lot of trapper. They both trap survivors.
Trapper is better because his traps hold survivors for longer and he can trap multiple survivors at the same time. Pinhead is better because he doesn't have to gather his traps and can use his traps pro-actively during a chase. I guess Pinhead may be just slightly better than Trapper because he also has the chain-hunt passive and Trapper doesn't have something similar, his teleport is really just to stop survivors from solving the lament configuration, so that's a zero-sum power.
Over-all. I would say the chains should hold the survivor about 0.5 seconds longer and possibly extend the range of his gate and his chain by 1/5th of what they currently are.
I havent had a problem with crashing since around 5 hours after release. So i assumed they had it fixed. Like you though i was having that silly host disconnection bug. Hopefully you can test him a bit better today.
I agree about his chains. They are too easy to break out of. Even if they keep them there, getting hit by say, 2 chains should probably at least injure the survivor. It'd make survivors be less cocky against him. He definately needs fine tuning. Id say he's better than trapper though by far, especially in chases. Especially with his ability to mind game. Trapper has to lay down a trap and that allows a surv to get away whereas Pinhead can project his chain spawn through walls to get them snared and then mind game.

Pinhead is bottom tier right now from what I can tell. When their are no threads about a killer being overpowered, you know for a fact that he is very underpowered.
Imagine if deathslinger chain did no damage upon breaking. And had a 2 second cooldown before the shot fired after you press M1. And on top of that, imagine if the chain broke after only 3 seconds of reeling.
Could a person win with those kind of deathslinger limitations win? Yes, i easily could still win against many survivors if i still played this game as often as I used to. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't suck and be unfun, unthreatening, and get absolutely curb stomped by good survivors.
I would say he is slightly weaker than clown right now, an absolute kitten of a ranged killer compared to slinger or huntress.
I agree he is under powered, i would go so far as to say bottom tier, id say mid bottom? If played correctly hes better than some, but i wouldnt say hes strong at all. Its all about the mind games and the slowdowns. On the PTB i played him like i would a freddy or a wraith. Just go in, chase, get looped, feel annoyed. Now i know how and when to use his teleport properly and where to start a chain placement, i feel way stronger and this is what i think people aren't doing, especially having played against 8 Pinheads tonight where only one teleported to me or my friend and we had the lament box 80% of the time it was to be picked up. They use their chains stupidly aswell, usually in a chase from a mile back instead of getting closer and using it at mid range or trying to mind game round a loop.
I agree with the other things you say, he is nowhere near closer to being as powerful as huntress or Slinger. Clown idk, see for me, clown again is weak because so many dont use his power to full potential. They just always use the slowing gas and never the faster antidote. The ones who use the antidote properly in good places can do well. The average clown player doesnt use it correctly, or throws it where a survivor can easily get to it aswell. Some dont even use it at all.
This whole "new killer being weak" has happened every new chapter now since Twins. Because their powers take time to get used to and need more testing to see what needs buffing. But it always dies down after a month or so even before buffs/nerfs happen because people have all the perks on the killers. Thats what everyone seems to be forgetting right now aswell, people play the new killers with sub optimum builds and come here whineing that the new killers crap. They're forgetting they sometimes have to run spies in the shadows, beast of pray, Bitter Murmur and Monsturous shrine. When they get the better perks games will go a bit easier for them.

What are you smoking? His power is nearly useless and his passive will literally never activate because the survivors have to allow it to. there is practically no penalty for denying a large part of his power, which even still is very weak.
Smoking nothing my frend. I just know how and when to use his powers correctly. His power is a slowdown mechanice similar to freddys traps. They're not meant to hold a survivor in place for long, just to slow them down and u catch up, if you use that correctly like i do, you get a hit 9/10, if you dont like a lot seem to be unable to, then you dont and you come on here crying that his powers useless. Its useless because you're not using it right.
His passive ability causes one person to waste time to retrieve an item, hold it and be oblivious while holding it. It also requires you to further waste time to solve it, while if the killer uses it correctly, can teleport and 8 times out of 10 will get a hit. He's a slowdown killer and considering my games as killer are taking around 5-10 minutes longer than usual, id say hes doing fine at slowing the game down *When played correctly*
Is his power amazing? No. Is he top tier? No. Is he fairly weak right now with people playing him with sub optimal builds and having barely any perks on him? Yes
Is his power useless? No. I'd consider myself a mid to upper ranked Killer, and im having a lot of fun mind gaming survs with chains. Thats how hes meant to be played. He could use some buffs, but hes really not that weak if you're playing him right. Out of 11 Killer games i played as him today, all but 3 were 4k's, all games lasting between 15 - 20 minutes (usually around the 15 mark) The others btw, were 2 3k's and 1 2k. If SBMM is working correctly (and it should be as im getting good survivors who know how to loop and 4 games with 4 man swf's with a combined total of around 4.2K hours) then im not going up against bad players. So i have no real sympathy for people coming on here crying that his powers bad or hes weak. Put some damn effort into learning him and wait til you have better perks and you might start enjoying it instead of whingeing about it on a forum.
People like you just cant accept you're not playing him correctly with optimal perks. Simple as that.

Wasn't Felix in the RE teaser?
Meg was in the trailer. The only non origial survivor i can think of in a trailer that wasnt released with that chapter was Dave in Legions. At least i think it was Dave.

I've been playing him and he's fun, but I would say he is the weakest Killer right now and I play Trapper and Plague. Then again, I haven't been playing add-ons with him because he keeps crashing the game. Without add-ons, he's definitely the weakest though.
Play him with any of his addons and he becomes stronger. Same with most killers. Engineers fang is seriously good. 3 out of the 4 purples are strong imo, and his green and yellow addons help out fairly well. What you see with people complaining is people using Larrys Remains or Liquified Gore (increases Lament Config solving time) and never teleporting.
I've gone up against around 8 Pinheads tonight now, and all but 1 were a walkover because they just wern't using the tools at their disposal well. No one but two of them teleported, they even just stuck to a chase they were miles from when my friend was using the box. One did use his powers correctly, and he got a 4K with 2 gens done.
When i play Pinhead, im only using Liquified Gore and Wriggling Maggots (two yellow addons) and out of 11 games, 8 have been 4k's and 2 3K and 1 2k. Im red ranks (Iri Rank II) and have been playing since Freddy was released. I will even openly admit i do not belong in red ranks and my SBMM has probably taken me down a level. But i am being put with people who know how to loop, and who know when to save and when to do gens. Games do feel longer with Pinhead tbh, idk why, but on average before id say my games with PH were around 10 mins, Pinhead is 15 or longer.
The only thing im struggling with is understanding how people cant play him. And as ive said numerous times, hes not strong, but hes not the weakest. When Nemesis came out, there were so many posts here that he was bad, worst killer ever. Same with Twins and Trickster. Its just a trend now and its getting really boring and silly to see people like the OP cry so damn hard and try too hard to argue a point which ive already offered him advice about, to which he has ignored and just keeps copying what other people are saying and/or being happy someone agrees with him, but theres always a caveat like people not using his powers or addons.
He's also brand new, so people aren't gonna have the best perks for him yet. Another fact that people casually seem to forget. In 6 weeks when Pinheads are running their optimim build, if people like the OP are still crying, ill take it a bit more seriously.

is he that bad? I already didn't plan on buying pinhead because he seems boring like nemesis
Hes not boring, hes not that strong, but hes really fun to play. The OP is just full of hyperbole. Even to go so far as to say i've said things i havent simply for disagreeing that he isnt the worst/weakest killer in the game.

Okay so i should expect the new killer to be bad at release? lol I can't buy it cuz i like Hellraiser? ight
People have complained on release about
Pig, Clown, Legion, Plague, Demogorgan, Deathslinger, Twins, Trickster, Nemesis
It happens a lot. You have 1000s of posts on this forum, you cannot be ignorant of this? Or like i said, you're just pushing a narrative.

Oh look another person who thinks hes weak, that's crazy. Even with add ons hes not that great, his purple one that keeps attacking is one of the good ones i forget the name
Once again, i never once said he was strong. I disagreed with your topic title and stating he's the weakest killer in the game. And once again you push a narrative to justify yourself.
I also said i bet you aren't playing him correctly. Which i stand by. Even the guy you quoted has stated he's not played him with addons. Id like to see most killers do amazingly with no addons.

Yeah just played another, he got 0 kills, just 3 hooks. I'm happy to let killers practice on me, but they keep downing me in the gates instead of practicing 😅😂
And i bet this is how the majority are playing him lol. They just seem to think killers should turn up and stomp.
I enjoy Pinhead, im usually getting 4k's every match and having so much fun with his chains round the killer shack and through buildings. Even managed to get some chains on someone from the basement who i knew was stood outside. He was just waiting there and didnt expect it. When people learn his power correctly, people wont be crying so much about him. He does need a few buffs though, he is by no means a strong killer. He just requires some thought and skill right now.
-
I only see the original survivors in the trailers. Maybe thats why.

Pinhead, performance, how’s it all going so far?
The killers fine, he just takes a bit of learning to get used to playing. A lot of people complaining about him are people who i can guarantee to you aren't using his powers properly. Right now hes a safe mid tier killer. Not strong, but not weak. You have to mind game with him occasionally.
His addons are strong. His perks are Ok - Good.
The performance this afternnoon from release to about 4 hours later, there were constant host disconnections. You still got the BP, but the games just kinda ended early. This seems to have been fixed.
If you're a fan of Hellraiser or enjoy playing killers with Slowdown and mind game mechanics, then Pinhead is good. Hes really fun to play. If you want a killer who just flat out stops you without any skill needed, then hes not for you.
Watch Nototzdarva on youtube play him. You'll get a better grasp of how he plays than anything anyone can say on here.

Just faced him for the first time, 1k, he didn't bother turning up to puzzle solver, did it twice and he didn't show. He barely used his chain ability either, didn't get chained apart from the chain hunt which was annoying af when nearly finished a gen.
I played against a few who were like that. Some people just haven't picked up on his power. It was the same with Nemesis when he came out. I didnt die to a Nemesis for about 3 weeks. Then i kept getting rekt by them even at the same or lower ranks because people figured him out a bit more, and people will with Pinhead too.
See when i use all the abilities at his disposal correctly, i get a 3k minimum, usually a 4k.

It's all about when you use them, like nemesis' tentacle, {using it when you wouldn't get a normal hit otherwise, or over an obsticle} using his chains through windows or corners usually won't help much
Oh look, someone else who actually uses his brain and can figure out the correct use of chains. Give this man a medel.

How do you like survivors escaping your chains the second you get there?? How is that a fun killer power?
Because its a slowdown mechanic. What do you not understand? Just like Freddys Traps & Clowns Bottles. They're not meant to chain you in place. They're meant to slow the survivor down for you to catch up, which you can do when you use the power correctly. I havent had much issues with them and id guess im a mid - higher rank killer. If you're a very high rank killer then our opinions may differ, but i know im using the power in a better way than you because i can catch up at get a hit 90% of the time i hit a surv with ONE chain.

I'm using the same argument that other people are saying to back up the point that hes ass and weak and thats what the other posts are talking about. Sorry to break it to you that other seem to agree with me. Move on
And i've disagreed with you and offered insight into why, albeit i did do it in a bit of a sarcastic manner.
I've even agreed with others that he is NOT strong. My point in this is that he's not the worst killer as you stated and nowhere near the worst, i've explained why as a counter to your arguments and thusly you have proceeded to just spam this thread with what other people say which just leads me to believe you cannot think for yourself. You had a grievence, i explained why the grievence is wrong IMO, and you try to use other peoples grievences as a justification for your own? Some of them aren't even joining your narrative on him being the worst killer ever. They're just outling issues with him, of which with some i agree with.

Also just because you say PAL and don't agree with me and im wrong.. doesnt make me wrong I don't care this is what i've experienced from playing the game. I understand you don't agree with me great
Grow up. Seriously. If you're going to post topics on this site, at least have the gumption and intelligence to debate poperly instead of acting like a giant manbaby.
Not everyone agrees with you because some people actually use the brain they were born with and can work out a killers strengths without needing their hand held.

Example one of someone who doesn't think hes strong either
Yes, he agrees with you, Because one, two or 50 people agree with you, doesnt mean you're right. Millions think Aliens built the pyramids, it doesnt mean they're right. So using someone to back you up isnt valid pal.
But ill bite with these comments too.
You do NOT have to land 4 chains in a row to counter survivors unless you are using the chains too far away, as i already explained, its not meant to be used as a catch up mechanic when you're 50 yards away. Its for mid range and anti looping. Even if you dont hit them when they're still chained, you have caught up to them, lessening the length of the loop, making them use a pallet or take a hit.
Yes his addons makes him better, and i agree with Otz in a video of his where he suggested some of them could be made baseline for added power. But not playing with these addons doesnt make him bad.
And once again, i never said he was strong, i said he wasnt the worst killer in the game. If you are going to quote people and then say a statement after it, at least get the opposing statement right instead of trying to twist things to your own narrative.

No thanks as much as you say its a "me" problem, others have said the same so sorry. I read the same talk before i made a post
No it is a you problem, and someone else said that in this thread too.
Funnily enough we saw the same crap on here when Nemesis was released. That he was useless, worst killer ever etc etc. I wouldnt be shocked if you made a post about him. I saw it with Twins, and i saw it with Trickster.
Just because you think and some other people cry hyperbole over a killer, doesn't mean you or they are right. I bet you aren't using his power properly, simple as that.
I dont think hes a very strong killer btw, but hes nowhere near as bad as you say. Nowhere near.

@ad19970 said:
I'm sorry, I just don't see how he is weak. His chains are good enough in chase and he has a second objective built into his base kit.
Hes not weak, hes not strong but hes not weak. Hes comfortable mid tier right now. The OP hasnt taken the time or effort to think that because he cant work out how to use his power properly, then he must be the worst killer ever.

There's ZERO room for hope for this one dude, sorry. His chains don't hold the survivor for even a fraction of enough time for you to even get there, ontop of it being hard as ######### to land and easy as ######### to dodge. For zero reason, also survivors control what he does during the match his power seems like another one of those. He's trash just like the trickster and they need to stop ripping people off
Sorry but this is 100% a you problem. I cant aim as Huntress, Nurse, Blight, Hillbilly. I can barely aim as trickster, yet i can hit the chains on Pinhead. Its about mind games and predicting their next move in a loop.
If you're using the power just when out in the open in a chase and far away, ofc you're going to get rekt. The whole idea is to use it when mid range or in a loop to predict where they're going to go to slow them down there and get a hit.
Watch some people play it and learn man. Instead of coming on here crying because YOU cant be bothered to learn how this killer is meant to be played.
TLDR? - Its a YOU problem.

ok thank you, and was I correct in reading that each killer will have their own "skill" level so for example if I'm better with trapper than nurse i will be matched with tougher survivors in my trapper match than my nurse match or will all killers be on the same skill "setting"
Yeah thats how it'll work. If you're good on PH and Freddy you'll have a higher skill rating and be paired accordingly. If you're bad on nurse or Billy, you'll be paired with your skill for those killers you have chosen which will be lower.
Hopefully it means previously higher ranked killers can learn other killers they dont play now without going into matches and being wrecked.
-
This is seriously annoying.
5 Games i played. 2 which were tough, stressful, lasted around 20 minutes each, barely able to kill 1 or 2 survivors, usually only killing the second during the EGC
3 games which i felt powerful, was dominating, still 3-4 gens to go but still the games were long. And 3 "host disconnections"
Its like the game doesnt want me to enjoy it. It'll stay stable through games where survs are kicking my arse. But if im on top and gens aren't being done theres a host disconnection.

BHVR I seriously want to know what is going through your minds when you thought making SBMM permanent starting when pinhead is released is in any way a good idea, Ever since you announced this earlier this morning SBMM has been trending on twitter and still is as I'm typing this thanks to you. If it wasn't already clear enough that people don't want SBMM in the game and have to sweat every game they play and being matched up with the same sweaty players then I hope SBMM trending on twitter and the backlash you've received from that today will hopefully make you reconsider. If not then this experiment will just be like the backlash you received in the 2018 update where pallet and flashlight stuns were easier to achieve/ more op, In fact this backlash will probably be worse in many ways because like in other games like COD the regular 6v6 mode in multiplayer is completely dead thanks to SBMM. So please tell me BHVR what makes you think for one second the same thing won't happen to you? And no offense when I say this but what also makes you think if a billion dollar company like activision can't properly implement SBMM into their game what makes you think we can trust you to properly implement it when you guys can't even fix things like sound bugs that have been in the game for years and other unbalanced/performance issues? I have a feeling this SBMM experiment will not only fail but will also be a wake up call for you. I can personally tell you right now that when SBMM is introduced permanently I will not be playing this game nearly as much because the last thing I want to do is play every game in try hard mode against sweats especially when this game isn't even close to balanced, If your SBMM experiments was a little preview of what is to come then mark my words on this it will fail and it will fail greatly, You already have people back lashing so just imagine the back lash when it's permanently introduced unless you somehow create the biggest miracle in gaming and actually make a balanced SBMM but I wouldn't personally bet money on that, I hope you listen to the players and fans because if you don't it will be bad for you but as a fan I really do wish you the best of luck BHVR and that it does work out in the end.
Just want to point out the line where you say
"If a billion dollar company like activision cant properly implement SBMM in their game what makes you think we can trust you?"
Well if you trust anything Activision do then you are a complete idiot. Activision are one of the biggest dickhead companies out there along with EA. If you haven't learnt not to trust activision yet, then you never will and this comparison would only make me more convinced BHVR can implement it better. Im surprised the higher ups at activision can even turn a door knob let alone have the power to run a video game company.

Leatherface, Freddy, Michael, Ghostface, Pyramid head, Nemesis, and Pig, all killers that we have seen before the year 2000 (Nemesis almost being modern but is 1 year short, 1999) (And I don't count Demo given he's really not that iconic. For Stranger things? Yes, but not in a general sense like all the others, also he's in season 1 out of 4, can't really compare him)
There are so many slashers and creatures that have come out since 2000 that BHVR haven't even touched. My Bloody Valentine, The Mist, Dog Soldiers, Slither, A Quiet Place, Hollow Man, American Psycho, Purge, etc.
And don't forget the games like Dead Space, Fear, Amnesia, Siren, Fnaf, Evil Within, Outlast, etc.
Some of these might not be iconic to you, but they ARE iconic to others.
All these deserve some position in the "Horror Hall of Fame", and yet all we've seen is ancient history.
The monsters/killers they bring into the game have to fit into the game. While im a big Lovecraft and king fan, im not sure how anything from the mist can possible fit into the game? Its late so maybe im not thinking but i dont see how anything from the mist is going to fit into DBD.
Hollow man is a man who is invisible...we kinda have that already with Wraith.
What would the purge killer be? I assume it'll be the polite leader? What would his power be exactly? Nothing about what he does is iconic. Hes a memorable character yes, but each killer in the game has a gimmick of some sort and Purgers are just humans who go out killing with a weapon and a mask. Just like American Psycho. We kinda already have this with Legion.
The reason so many older killers are wanted is because they are ingrained in horror folk history. If you were to ask random people to pick 5 horror characters, old or young they would usually go to pick Freddy, Myers, Jason, Pinhead, Leatherface from cinema. The Conjuring franchise has been very popular in the past few years but i dont know anyone who knows horror (and i know quite a few) who would tell me the nun or annabelle is more iconic than Myers & Freddy.
From Games they would pick from silent hill and RE as those two are the most well known. What
Im a big fan of everything horror and i do hope to see some of the more recent additions. Just in moderation.
You're also forgetting that its not always up to BHVR. Its up to whoever owns the copyright & licensing. If they dont want to play ball, they really dont have to. You dont know which franchises BHVR have thought about ot enquired about only to be told, "nope".
