  • Happens to me too. The amount of salt i get when playing myers, in tier 3, downing someone, picking them up only for someone to run in and try flashlight save until i down them cause i cant go blind.

A lot on this game have some pathetic entitled attitude that their plans should work and if they dont, then the killer is terrible at the game and should run "real" perks.

Just enjoy their salt, point and laugh at them. Even when they say they're not triggered, you know they are.

Still comparing things that aren't even remotely close, I see. Guess it is difficult to come up with a valid point, when you can't think of any. Dead Hard. A perk that doesn't even work properly the vast majority of the time, and that at the very least (when it does), requires you to be close to a pallet and look at where you're gonna be doing it, while simoultaneously keeping an eye on the killer. And if there is no pallet and you use it anyway, the killer will have wasted what, two seconds? Oh, noes! Not to mention that only people who just bought the game do not wait for it happen before striking, nowadays. Doesn't take that much skill, nothing to say on that. But the skill it requires is still enormous, compared to a NOED, the Spirit of perks. I have to say, though, that I like how you people try to phrase stuff in order to suit your purposes. "If anyone approaches the killer". Yup, killers are not, at all, moving faster than survivors in this game. And they don't either move faster thanks to tunneling and NOED's activation. Nah, let's just skip that part, right? After all, cows enter slaughterhouses because they want to become meat, isn't it? I don't see this discussion going anywhere worthwhile. Not with you, at least. So let's just end this here, shall we? You'll keep being a killer and I'll keep trying to look at the game from both perspectives, as it should be.

I'll just leave you with a list of perks that do the work in the killer's stead, so you'll have something to think about. Maybe.

    • A Nurse's Calling: Did you lose a survivor? Is a survivor that you aren't even chasing anymore busy healing himself/being healed from others? Do not fear, now you can see their auras from a range that is bigger than that of their screams of pain. Just look around, dinner's served.
    • BBQ & Chili: Having trouble doing something as basic as patrolling the place where survivors should be, gens? No worries, BBQ is here to find them for you. And if you don't see one or two, you know they are more than likely close to the hooked guy, so you can even camp him. But wait, I can already see you saying that you use it for the Bloodpoints, right?
    • NOED: No need to explain this. I like to think that, at the very least, those who use NOED do so because, like those who play Ash on R6, or with the VMP on CoD Black Ops, do so because they are aware they suck. Because if they thought to be skilled, well... The joke of the century would not be able to stand up to them.
    • Ruin: Kicking gens for you, regressing them at double the speed. You don't even need to perform the damage interaction anymore. And before you say anything, because I know you would, it is needed. Doesn't change the fact that it does your work for you.
    • Infectious Fright: Same as BBQ, though to a lesser extent.
    • Haunted Grounds: Mini, early game NOED.
    • Spirit Fury: After 2 pallets destroyed from you, the next one will be for free. Pair Enduring with it and you get a FREE hit.
    • Rancor: Get to know where all survivors are when a gen is completed, along with an inastadown AND mori on your obsession, when the last generator is repaired.
    • Devour Hope: This requires you to actively gain tokens for it, but when you do, it eliminates the double hit mechanic AND gives you, potentially, a first hook mori.
    • Iron Maiden: Again, another perk to give away the survivor's location, without direct involvement from you.
    • Dragon's Grip: Again, another perk that does give away the fact that A) The survivor is on a gen: B) He is now an instadown: C) You now know his general location.
    • Make Your Choice: Same as above.
    • Surveillance: Get told when a gen that was regressing is stops doing so. Hence, you are communicated that survivors are now on it.
    • Discordance: You now know not only what generator is being worked on, but are also given the location of TWO survivors.
    • Corrupt Intervention: Want to get a head start? We got you. Generators will be blocked as soon as the round starts.
    • I'm All Ears: Survivors that run near you will be shown to you even if you had NO IDEA they were there. Perhaps they were on the other side of a wall and you couldn't see nor hear them. Not a problem, let the game help you.
    • Thrilling Tremors: Want to know which generators are being worked on/where some survivors are when you pick someone up? Here you go.
    • Surge: Down survivors near gens, have them kicked for you.
    • Deathbound: Once survivors heal far from you, you will know where they are AND they won't hear you coming.
    • Thrill Of The Hunt: Want to know when survivors are cleansing totems, making them require more time to do it? Have at it, you don't need to be aware of them doing so, the game tells you.
    • Crowd Control: Vaults will be blocked, without you doing so with Bamboozle, when survivors fast vault them.
    • Hoarder: Get notificated when survivors start interacting with chests, giving you their location.
    • Undying: Same as above, but you get to keep your Ruin this time. Double the game working for you.
    • Lethal Pursuer: You now know where all survivors are as soon as the match starts.
    • Whispers/Spies From The Shadows: As many other perks, gives you the survivor's location without you having any direct involvement in it.
    • Bloodlust: Not even a perk, which is already powerful on its own, yet it rewards you for doing one of the most controversial things in the game, tunneling.

Of course, this is just a list of the perks that play the game for you, without taking into account how much each of them is used or how stronger some perks are compared to others. It's just a pretty exhaustive list of perks that make your life much easier, without you having any direct involvement in those things, or very little at best. As I said, let's not keep this going. Whatever you might have to say, just spare it. Or if you do, be aware that I am not even going to bother reading it anymore. Good day to you.

Thank you very much for proving my point and showing yourself up because this essays worth of writing is consisting of mostly absolute nonsense and the fact you even said "i guess its difficult to come up with a valid point when you cant think of any" is total hypocrisy considering the amount of rubbish you proceed to write.

The only thing in this essay you have written that is true is about this going nowhere, because you clearly have paid no attention to what i have said earlier so allow me to recap very simply for you.

I am not a killer main. I play both equally. Thus i can see things from both perspectives. You claim to be seeing things from both but you're not. You are just launching a diatribe of nonsense towards killers.

The whole point of these discussions were, NOED is very easily countered, as is almost every single perk you have listed in this tirade of a post. But for some reason you just will not accept that, and will not accept that while i AGREE NOED is a second chance stupid perk, so are varius other survivor perks. Both sides have perks like that. But you wont see that and only see it from a survivor point of view. Each of your arguments have been countered by me, or others in this discussion but still, you just wont have it and your ego will now refuse to let it go.

And i dont care if you read or not, others will and they too will see you are talking utter garbage and have no clue on anything thats being discussed in this topic. So i thank you for proving me, and others right, and not replying anymore because it'll save everyone from feeling that little bit stupider for reading the crap you come out with.

Adrenaline gets activated when all 5 gens have been completed. Sure, you might not have worked on said gens. But if, as you said, you kept the killer busy for all of the match...I'd say you have quite deserved it, probably more than those working on gens. It's not the same thing as NOED, not even in the slightest. Then again, I wouldn't be against more conditions to activate both, even though I'd gladly see NOED simply removed. The biggest (and not the only) difference, though, is that Adrenaline doesn't guarantee you will survive. NOED will guarantee you kills more than likely, as you are bound to have survivors scared of going down and leaving the moment they see the noob... erm, the killer has NOED, or they will try being altruistic and take the place of the previously hooked guy. You don't simply get instadowns, you even get increased move speed. NOED could simply be renamed Hex: Let the game play for you.

And if you think that a mere 15 seconds of chase is a "long" time... I don't know how you perceive time. Because on lots of maps, Bloodlust 1 does make a tremendous difference, and allows hits that shouldn't have been a thing (along with those that already should not be a thing, like being hit from the other side of a dropped pallets or when you are 50m away from a vaulted window).

Keeping a killy busy doesnt mean you deserve an extra chance when you finally do go down. And as someone stated, Noed still requires you to find and hit someone. Noed does not guarantee kills either. It increases your chance you will get 1 or a few hooks. If anyone else is dumb enough to approach a killer while noed is active then quite frankly, they dont deserve to go down in two hits. Dont play dumb and you'll live.

If as you say survs leave, then thats what...1 kill? or 1 extra kill. Most killers will camp after that, so people can easily go and find the totem and totally cancel it. You have made no valid point in what you said about Adrenaline and if anything just reaffirms the belief that Noed and Adrenaline are pretty much the same type of undeserving 2nd chance perks. And that remark about let the game play for you. Well...Dead Hard. Thats all ill say to that.

In regards to bloodlust ill just say, i dont have many issues with it when im playing survivor. If you know how to loop then BL isnt a huge deal. You should be looping a pallet by the time BL starts, and during that loop you can waste excessive amounts of time for the killer. Doing it fairly well will result in a pallet going down and then the killer has 2 choices. Chase round and round for another waste of time, or break the pallet and lose bloodlust. Either way the survivor is buying more time for his team, which is what a survivor being chased is meant to do. BL was put into the game at a time when there were maps/layouts which made it almost impossible to catch up. Nowadays the layouts aren't as heavy sided towards survivors, but there are still multiple places on maps, sometimes next to each other where things such as jungle gyms where chases just seem endless and you either waste a lot of time or give up and go after someone else after probably already investing quite a lot of time on that chase.

Adrenaline is a perk that activates only when all gens have been completed. And to complete all of the gens, you must work on them, your objective as a survivor. If you completed all of the gens, you get rewared for completing your objective. As a killer, NOED rewards you for NOT completing your objective, which is far different. And, on the plus side, Adrenaline is an exhaustion perk with a 60 seconds timer. Which means that, for 60 seconds, your DH will be gone. If the killer is chasing you at that time, Adrenaline will only make the chase slightly longer. As per Dead Hard, check what I wrote above. And again, remember, Bloodlust isn't a perk. Yet all killers have it. Blast Mine isn't as good as killers would like to make people think. It only does something if you kick gens when it is activated. If you get there too late, it's wasted. If you chase survivors instead, it's wasted. But, I must say, it baffles me how killer can whine about anything. Before, you used to cry about people combining DS and UB. Now that people don't use those as much as before, you found other things to cry about. Not saying there isn't stuff that needs fixing in this game, there is a lot of it. But, at the very least, try lamenting about things that need that, not about simply everything.

Adrenaline isna perk that activates just based on gens. It has nothing to do with you doing the gens. One survivor who loops all game finally goes down but gets a 2nd chance cause 3 others do the gens. Its in the same category as NOED. Its dependant on other factors but like noed, requires you to do no actual objective.

Im not a fan of Noed, but they're still in the same basis of free perks. And that Exhaustion of Adrenaline still overrides any exhaustion you already have. Giving you 2 perks in one go. 1 - Unbreakable and 2 - sprint burst.

Bloodlust isnt a 5th perk. It gains the killer speed after a very long chase. In the time it takes to get 3 stacks of BL a gen could get done very easily. And most killers break pallets. So to get any meaningful speed boost for it, you need to be in a chase for 45 seconds and break no pallets allowing any survivor with experience a very easy way to prolong the chase. Bloodlust is an extra ability but its by no means on the same level as any perk.

Also, worth pointing out i play both equally, but as ive made new friends lately. i play more survivor. And i still think the free abilities survs have outweigh the killers. But then again im one of those that think a killer should be OP. That doesnt think survs should get out easily. I like the challenge and the fear factor. So i prefer it to be harder and not make it so survs can be far stronger than killers. So this whole "killers crying" argument means nothing to me. Im over the years a 50/50 player and atm more 70/30 surv so its "survs crying" aswell.

And holding the game hostage is also against the rules, but it doesn’t stop most killers from doubling the time the game should be

Slugging isnt holding the game hostage. The downed survivors life is slowly ticking down. Therefore nothing is being held hostage. Nor is slugging against the rules.

  • @Damarus said:

Because it favors BAD players and gives them free hooks. Killers always come and say unhook should not be free, yet they never see how NOED is giving them free stuff, more so than other perks they have already do. Trapper should not be taken as an example, because the way he is designed is flawed, and doesn't work now that players know what they are doing. He might have worked before, when the game was in its vanilla state, but now he is just outdated.

So what about the "free" things survivors have? Like Dead Hard? Adrenaline? Killers taking 1-2 seconds to kick gens which can now be blast mined requiring 5-6 seconds to break only for the survivor to take 0.1 seconds to touch it and stop regression.

Im not a fan of noed, whether i play killer or survivor, but the whole "noed is a free down" argument just doesnt work as survivors have a lot more "free" stuff.

  • It seems from replies people either dont realise when its happening or its totally regional, but that makes me wonder why its regional?

But considering the amount of people stating they've experienced multiple cheaters, im finding it hard to believe these people with 1000s of hours only meeting a handful.

A lot here state they experience the insta heal cheat, whereas i have never experienced that as a killer, only speed hacks and/or teleport hacks. I have experienced that as a solo survivor though.

We play on the same servers, about the same rank (i get quite a bit of purple ranks in my matches when queing late), and in simular times (yours is a bit earlier, but that's hardly relevant).

By the looks of it, either your luck is very poor, or my standards to declare someone to be a cheater are higher. Ppl blatantly teleporting through the map when downed do not suppose any duality in judgement, though.

They are not teleporting to the other side of the map when downed just like that. They are crawling, VERY FAST after being downed. They are running very fast when up. spamming their flashlights to get me to chase as they know i will never catch.

For example. 1 game i had. The cheater playing the nea, i started a chase with her, i was around 6 meters away and another 2-3 seconds in position to lunge. Suddenly shes 10 meters away, then 15 meters away. In the space of less than 2 seconds. Running round the map like speedy gonzalez.

I went after others, downed one, hooked them, Nea comes to save right on front of me, she was still injured from me managing to hit her earlier when i was hidden thanks to tinkerer and she was doing a gen, she never bothered to heal. During saving the other surv, i downed the nea, while wiping my weapon, shes crawling at a speed double the speed that legion runs.

Thats just the speed hackers. The closet teleporters are the ones appearing all over different parts of the map after running into a closet right in front of me.

  • @TripleSteal said:

Actually, "less than 10" was a very conservative way to say "4 or 5" :)

    All of them were survivors.

Which server are you playing on? Around what time? Which platform? Crossplay on/off? Rank?

UK, PC, On otherwise wait times are around 10 minutes per lobby whereas at the time i encountered them (between 3 and 5pm UK time) the wait time for killer was around 5-6 minutes. Rank 5, but ive encountered cheaters at all ranks.

  • @Zenro said:

Yeah ive ran into 5 cheaters this past week. Speed hacks, instant heals so you can never down them. Stuns that last 2 minutes. I usually just dc the moment i realize its a cheater. Which isnt bad right now because of the no penalties. They really need to crack down on the hackers.

I do dc. But thats not the point. I shouldnt have to dc. Cheaters shouldnt be as prevalent as they are when theres a god damn anti cheat there to prevent it.

  • @TripleSteal said:

How did you even find them? I've seen less than 10 cheaters in thousands of hours over 5 years.

Ive been playing since just after freddy came out, and i experience at least 10 - 20 per year so how you've only gotten 10 in 5 years is beyond me. But lately its just more and more common for me. Its FAR more common for survs to be cheaters. Ive only experienced around 5 or 6 killers using hacks in the whole time of playing

  • @Laluzi said:

There's been a massive influx of cheaters lately. Worse, they seem to have figured out how to block the ability to report them in game. BHVR needs to plug the leak and do a ban wave; it's been bad all month after a few months' relative peace.

In the meantime, I guess just keep filing reports when you can, and dodge any lobbies if you see a survivor with an overly long name.

Im glad im not the only one experiencing it. Cause considering i aint seen anyone else posting about it, i thought i was the only unlucky guy on this game

Their names have been VERY short lately. One was called Ghost. Another called Yami. I rarely see very long names in games with cheaters.

Only reasonable nerf to SWF that doesn't affect solos is a shared perk pool. Only one DH, BT, Adrenaline, DS etc. in an SWF team is enough for them to still dominate matches.

50 or 100 percent extra BP for killers per SWF member is also a good motivation to play an unfair match.

Overall the game needs some kind of early slowdown, but apparently the devs have abandoned that idea.

I actually like this idea. It defines a set role for the team.

  • @WexlerWendigo said:

For a very simple reason, it makes the game much more accessible to people with bad anxiety. When I don’t have SC unlocked on a character, I get genuinely bad anxiety and I feel like it puts me at a disadvantage in the game. Horror films don’t impact me at all like this, but when I’m playing a game with jump scares, it puts me on edge in a way that’s not enjoyable.

Feel like this post is gonna get ######### on, but I’m sure I’m not the only player who feels like they need SC to not get bad anxiety.

If this actually came into play, devs would have to impliment something for killers to know where survs are. So Whispers would be available to every killer? Im sure some survivors would love that... Or better yet, for all the utterly stressful games ive had when im a killer, DBD should pay for my medical bills if i ever get high blood pressure.

Im sorry but SC is a very easy perk to get, and it just seems like you're asking for a free 5th perk.

The only people who get upset about dcs are sweaty killer mains. As a survivor if one or more people dc it means youre either getting a farming match as a result or a very quick over and done with match as a result. As survivor you can move on pretty easily. Its the sweaty killer mains who get salty because it robs them of more points and ruins their experience more than anyone elses because it becomes a game of shooting fish in a barrel or theyre forced to farm instead of camping and tunneling everyone.

I play Killer and Surv equally. And i agree with the person above me that this is quite honestly the dumbest comment ive seen on this forum in a long time

It annoys me more as a survivor. As a killer if they dc early, its an easier game for me so i have no issue. If they dc when They've been hooked twice, its more BP for me than i would have gotten and unless the gens about to be popped, i always kill the remaining or they dc aswell resulting in bliss for me.

As a survivor, if they dc early in the game, its basically game over. Pre event i hadnt had a farming game as a survivor since Christmas. I even said to a friend when it first happened this anniversary event that its been so bloody long since ive seen a killer chill and farm. So by dc'ing early, the game is done, and because i can loop, no its not over quickly. Ill test myself and see if i can survive. I do once in 25 times maybe. But usually i die along with the 3 others.

TLDR. Everything you have said is total nonsense.

Yeah that's what I mean, the majority of the time deadhard does nothing but buy them 2-3 seconds, compared to twenty to thirty that Sprint or lithe can possibly buy

Depends where its used. If its in the open it buys 2-3 seconds. If used by a pallet it buys minimum 20 seconds against higher ranks. If used at various safe pallets or jungle gyms it buys them a lot more than 30 seconds.

I definitely agree that 50-60k is the average, but there have been some where I’ve spent north of 70k if I’m going for pinks and purples.

Oh yeah, if i aim for every single red, purple and green i can definately hit 70k. But thats if the entity doesnt block any and i get very very lucky. That wont happen on every bloodweb. Itll happen on 1 in 10 if that. Im not saying it cant happen, but it wont happen every single BW. the entity works out what you try to do. When i tried to save BP and just level characters for their teachables only going for browns, it knew and countered and went for browns. Itll always try and copy what you do, thus if you're going for the reds and purples after a few bloodwebs itll realise and go for them aswell. Thus stopping you spending as much.

Thank you for bringing data to support. This has been my experience as well.

No probs, i mean it should be standard. I rarely see more than 4 purples and 1 red spawn on P3 lvl 50 characters. So if im managing to spend around 60K getting all 4s and a red plus greens yellows and browns, im not sure what kind of Bloodweb hes getting to spend around 83K per blood web. Just sounds like over exaggeration.

  • @ManWithALemon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2323019#Comment_2323019

Obviously not, otherwise I'd get more than 10-12 levels on average.

No thats about right depending on what character you're on and what addons you're aiming to get. I just did a test and calculated how many BP i spent.

I did it on P3 Pyramid head Bloodweb. Focusing on POTD reach addons (eg: Burning Man painting, wax doll) & ROJ time to be performed. (tablet of oppressor, spearhead).

    1st BW - 56K spent - including 1 red addon and 2 purple

    2nd BW - 54K

    3rd BW - 57K - including 1 red addon and 2 purple

    4th BW - 61K - including 1 red addon and 3 purple

    5th BW - 54K

    6th BW - 56K

    7th BW - 60K - including 1 red addon and 3 purple

    8th BW - 56K - including 1 red addon and 2 purple

Even when getting red and purple addons, im still spending between 54K minimum and 61K maximum so im not really sure what you are spending yours on to go well above 60K each time. I spend an average of just under 57K which generally means from 1 million BP you should be getting a minimum 17-18 blood webs including variables from bad RNG.

Either Skeleton Keys or Rainbow Maps would work? Goodluck finding that from a chest, even with looting perks.

Whenever i take plunderers (usually when solo) i get a red key a decent amount of times or a red map. Id say theres a 40-50% chance of a red key or red map per game if you take plunderers and open 3-4 chests.

Why every survivor main must come and say "killer is too easy" after two games at rank 20? If you want, I can ask some friends and we can do a custom match against your Nemesis, no comms. If you win, you can say killer is easy.

Let me join that. If he gets a 4k on nemesis against me, you and two others, we all have to change the names on our birth certificates to Betty Humpter and dance naked wearing Legion masks. If he doesnt he has to admit hes baiting. Fair offer.

Thought I'd hear the "bait" sooner or later. Just because an opinion is different from yours doesn't mean it's some coordinated attack dude

    Reasons you are talking nonsense.

1 - Nemesis' tenticle does not have a huge hit box. Its extremely easy to avoid.

2 - Its range isnt that long. Pure and utter lie. If you cant handle the range on the tenticle then how on earth are you ok with Huntress?

3 - You used the phrase "Not sure if Nemesis or Killer role in general needs a nerf". Anyone whos played this game longer than a month understands killers are not feared, especially at higher ranks.

4 - You joined the forum in November 2020, so you're not a new player and you fully understand how this game works. If you are getting easy 4k's maybe play him at ranks 1-10 instead of rank 18 - 20.

don't worry dude. that's all these people's defense is. they just say "bait" because they dont want to believe that nemesis is actually stronger then they perceive. jsut you wait until people actually get good with him.

Except he is obviously baiting and anyone with more than half a brain cell can tell that.

Too many variables, the spectrum is too wide

But my overall opinion is: (Strongest to weakest)

    - coordinated 4 man swf

    - killer

    - mixture of swf and solo q

    - all solo q survivor

Again, too many variables that can alter my opinions, but this is based on the factors you gave and my general viewpoint.

Killer being 2nd is a huge variable. Usually will depend on which killer and experience but likewise will also depends on the experience of the swf and solo players. Ive had some solo games where i have or other solos kept the killer busy for 2/3/4/5 full gens and gotten out. Id definitely say those two are either or.

    Thank you.

To be honest I've never understood the ranking system either. Not the concept of some kind of skill-based matchmaking per se, but the actual 1-20 ranking system. What is the point of it if there are often huge discrepancies between the numbers? And if it resets each month anyway? What purpose does that serve? As you said, the numbers are themselves not a true representation of a player's skill. Someone could get down to red, quit playing for a few months or whatever, then come back as a yellow or brown rank and wipe the floor with everybody. What good is that concept? Does that actually achieve anything other than screwing over players who are genuinely new and inexperienced?

Old ranking system was a laugh. Rank 1 to 10 got reset to rank 10 to 14 and rank 11-20 got reset to 15 - 20

I never really understood it either. Im sure someone explained it to me one time but i never remembered because it still didnt make a lot of sense.

I thought killer was supposed to be the hardest role from forum users here. I've been 4King every game with little effort with The Nemesis and I feel bad for survivors. They have no chance. I'm not sure if Nemesis needs a nerf or just the killer role in general, but the tentacle definitely needs to be looked at. It has a massive hitbox and deceptively long range, and he barely gets punished for missing it. It's basically a guaranteed hit at any loop. And it breaks pallets too?

Seriously, what were they thinking when making this killer?

    Obvious troll is obvious.

Ive faced 9 nemesis' since last night. Only seen 2 kills. But nice try anyway. It got your post count up by one.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I'll probably get ######### for this but honestly? Largely balanced.

I can only report my own anecdotal experiences, and they are this: As a solo survivor main, I've had good teammates and we all escaped, or at least some of us did. I've also had bad teammates, or good teammates who nonetheless got outplayed like myself. I've switched over to killer and find it much more difficult. In general I think that playing as killer is the harder role. But again, I can only report what I've experienced. And I've experienced every single killer in the game in the hands of someone who knows EXACTLY how to use them and seen myself and my team get absolutely annihilated.

All things considered, despite the fact that some killers feel a little OP or cheap and despite the fact that each side has perks that are as well, I think that the balance in this game is actually pretty even. If I can play for three months (as I have) and beat red ranks but also lose to yellow ranks, what can I say? It all comes down to the player, and the play. As a game like this should.

A good well thought out post.

    Something i disagree on though.

One thing that playing this game for so long has taught me is ranks are more or less meaningless. A player can be red ranks for a year, not play for 2 months and be green, come back and still be a fantastic player able to loop and destroy lower ranked killers. Its also notoriously easy to rank up in this game. Im green killer ranks at the moment and today alone ive had around 4 teams with at least 3 red ranks on and all played horribly. Checking steam profiles some of them had 100-200 hours on the game. Just because you beat red ranks and lose to yellow doesnt make the game balanced. It "usually" means a good killer has either deranked or returned and remembered how to play.

Yes, here is what I think. Killers can stack multiple regression perks such as Ruin/Undying/Pop with Tinkerer and make it virtually impossible for survivors to complete generators. These perks allow the killer to apply effortless map pressure, put these perks on a high-mobility killer such as Blight or Oni who can traverse a map in a matter of seconds, and you have a match that is very oppressive to survivors. You need a 4-man SWF of Prove Thyself genrushers to compete against this, uncoordinated solo-queue survivors stand no chance.

Stacked slowdown builds such as this, and powerful killer add-ons give the killer a massive advantage. Survivors need to be able to bring in items to help level the playing field, give them a fighting chance. Franklin’s is very capable of cheating survivors out of a fair fight, it is a completely bogus perk.

So i asked you to explain how franklins demise is an unfair perk and you didnt explain it at all. You just garbled out mumbo jumbo about other perks.

Personally i wouldnt even say a build of franklins/ruin/undying/pop is that powerful. Get the hex totems and thats 2 perks gone already. Or even if you dont...just do the gens and spread out. Dont try to be over alturistic rushing for saves everytime a survivor goes down. Theres always a counter to whatever the killer does. Franklins doesnt cheat survs out of a fair fight. The fight is already weighted in the favour of the survs no matter what tactic. I usually play in a 3/4 man group and i cant remember the last time more than one of us died in a trial. And lately ive been playing solo and i survive 8/10 times.

You're also using two hex perks as examples...Hex's can be and usually are cleansed by any half decent survivor. They're powerful for a reason. Because you have the ability to cleanse them.

So its easy for SWF's as you admit but not for solo survs. So make it easier for solo survivors and even easier than it already is for SWF's? Seriously? This game should be making it harder for SWF's not easier pal.

You are seeing everything purely from survivor side and nothing from the killers side. There is a counter for almost every tactic the killer has, even with solo queues.

    Survivor sided at low skill.

Killer sided at average skill levels.

    Survivor sided at high skill.

There’s a reason average Survivors cry for Killer nerfs and Rank 1 streamers cry about Survivors being overpowered.

This pretty much. I play survivor and killer equally. Id say overall its more survivor sided. Especially SWF games with comms. I cant remember the last time more than one of my team died in a SWF game at any rank.

High skill levels are definitely survivor sided. Which is a shame. Cause even as a survivor i want to be scared out of my wits and run for my life trying to survive. But the majority just want to mess around, follow killers about like it doesnt matter and bully/harrass.

It’s BECAUSE of my extensive experience I can assess that this add on needs changes. Again I’m talking about gutting his entire kit. I’m talking about one add on.

    ONE!

    Did you catch that?

    ONE!

What extensive experience? Cause i been playing this game for 4 years, encountered hundreds of Wraiths who use All seeing and hundreds more who dont and i can survive against both of them just fine unless they are actually very good.

Your "extensive experience" matters no more than mine, i say its fne, so why should it be removed just cause you dont like it?

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

I absolutely despise this add on. I always have.

It’s now significantly worse to deal with now that Wraith can get much, much closer before seeing his shimmer both because of his base speed increase, and the distance at which he has total invisibility.

Everything else with Wraith i’d say is balanced, but “All Seeing” - Blood is just awful, and unfair.

Wraith is a useless killer. All Seeing Blood makes him an ok mid tier killer. Yet you want to nerf it? Never mind other killers who need a nerf or other killers who need a buff. Nah lets focus on the most bland and easy killer to loop and the one addon that could possibly make him viable.

Tell you what. Ill go one better. How about BHVR just remove all addons from the game, and all abilities. No traps, No invisibility. They all just have no strengths whatsoever.

  • Been happening after every single match for me. Keep getting logged out and it takes around 4-5 minutes to reinitilize.

You cannot always retrieve your item in time. I have even seen killers camp an item that they took with Franklin’s. That behavior is petty, killers abused such a toxic perk to steal survivors’ items with no repercussion.

It’s a two-way street: If killers have a perk to take our items, we need a perk to take their add-ons or at least weaken the power of whatever busted add-ons they brought into a trial.

Difference is, whatever items you dropped can be reaquired again via chest in game.

So for that should Killers also get chests which allow them a random addon in the case a survivor "takes their addons" as you stated.

Your arguments are ludicrous and one sided. And thats coming from someone who plays surv and killer equally.

Franklin’s was inherently an unfair perk. In no circumstance does the killer have the right to steal survivors’ items. Killers scream about keys constantly, but even keys do not justify a perk like Franklin’s. This nerf was well-deserved, I pray it isn’t reverted.

What makes it an unfair perk? Just because the killer has no right to steal a survs items? Thats a weak argument. Can you enlighten me a bit as to why you think its an unfair perk instead of just crying about how unfair it is?

Hook all 4 survivors before they get to use it. There is nothing wrong with keys. Keys are conditional. Don't let those conditions be met and survivors will have a harder time using them. I always feel like many killers in DBD have this attitude of they could have several good or "fair" matches but that 1 match where a key is used just changes everything then suddenly keys need to be nerfed. I main survivor and every time I play this game I usually play for about 7-10 hours. In that time frame when I am playing solo I see maybe 1-2 keys brought into a match and even less actually get used. I don't know if its just based on personal experience or what but in my now 1,300 hours played of the game I have rarely seen a key used successfully. I wish they were used more often because it would be a switch up from the usual get to the door and open it before you die play.

Thats very easy to say but not as easy to do. Against a 3 or 4 man SWF with comms they're probs gonna get 3 gens done. Thus that key becomes usable if you kill two people.

Sounds like a typical surv thinking kills are easy for Killers and if a killer cant get 2 kills before 3 gens are popped then BAAAAAD.

  • Is Gen tapping still a thing? I know people used to do it to counter the old hex:ruin but why do people do it now?

I havent seen it since those changes. So i dont see the point?

  • @BlindMole said:

I'm not going to sugar-coat it and mean this in the nicest way possible.... Get used to it. Matchmaking has been horrible for killers for months and months so expect to get thrown in these rank 1 matches very often, and of course that means toxic teams. It sucks but that's unfortunately how it is and personally i don't think Mmr will change anything (even though deep down inside, I'm begging to be wrong)

MMR has the potential to change things over time. But like has been mentioned, its been in development for over a year now. Thats worrying. It shouldnt be pitting new players against people like this who by what the authour stated were extremely experienced.

Someone in another thread mentioned that its based on your total killer playtime which is confusing as based on this thread and screenshot evidence, the person has obviously not been playing long at all judging by player level, Even if every game played to get to that player level was pyramid head, it still shouldnt be putting them with red ranks unless they are wiping the floor with survivors.

IMO BHVR need to come out and address whats going wrong. MMR is game changing and if it mucks up like this a lot then its worth adressing.

  • I've noticed a few others are on steam topics and someone posted a bug report on here on further inspection. Has anyone else had this issue?

Been here since release and tbh the flashlight nerf was definitely needed, being blind instantly while in your pickup animation was wayyy easy at the time with how big the beam of the flashlight was. Now it actually requires some big brain thinking and I little bit of aim.

But where you here when there where infinite’s, how survivors could abuse a loop endlessly, like the one on cold wind or suffocation pit? Ntm how every window was open also? Which made those loops even more miserable to follow through..

yep, dbd has come a long way..with two step forward and one steps back.

Yes i was here. Oh the fun of remembering those shite times

There is nothing wrong with camping what so ever. The killer will only get a 2k max by camping.

Camping is a problem, and thats coming from someone whos recently started to do it from all the crap changes.

Im rank 6 Btw. I was red ranks but camping got me deranked, I do enjoy deranking just to annoy others.

what is even more incredible is the silence of the devs regarding this mess.

Game got clearly broken after last patch and, besides some entitled survs and some new players, everyone saw his fun level decrease drastically.

If I was a dev I'd be worried to see players base decrease drastically. But they keep on not addressing the problem and, most of all, no one said they will fix anything regarding this.

Personally I started to play it much less than before, and as soon as a good alternative comes out (RE:resistance, maybe?) I will quit this game.

Im a red rank survivor, and the fun just isnt there anymore when i play survivor. Its not scary, its not a challenge. Most games now are endless tunneling or camping because 2 gens get done within a minute and i honestly cannot blame the killer anymore. Its frustrating no doubt but playing killer now is non stop stress and annoying. Its just not fun anymore and thats the point of video games.

  • You wasnt around a few years ago when a lot of surv stuff was nerfed and every surv and their grandmother was crying endlessly were you.

I mean when they nerfed flashlights in 2018 the crying was insane and there were group "boycotts" until flashlights were fixed. Happens everyone one side feels hard done by.

  • The obvious flaw is that unless the killer places it immediately where he spawns in, then any survivor that hears his terror radius then suddenly notices a hex active will know its relative position.

not really, but ive never had players quit THAT fast xD

i literally didnt even get to see one of them, they just DCed as soon as they heard the heartbeat xD

Oh i have. Playing freddie with a red addon and ropes and ive had plenty of insta quits because "man you play op killers thats not fun to play against"

  • I used to hate rage quitters. Now i understand why they do it. As a survivor killers are now just camping, tunneling and slugging causing terribly boring games. As a killer, survs just get gens done too quickly.

If people stopped playing the game, the devs might listen. But as long as those numbers go up they wont.

  • I used to. Now i have to tunnel to get kills.

I never used to tunnel before the latest patch and averaged 3 kills per game with one getting out through the hatch usually, now its almost a necessity.

  • @SteelDragon said:

welcome to the after effects of the ruin changes, we killers warned you, BHVR did not listen, they wanted to pander to the rank 20 survivors. and so they did

I play killer? So the we killers warned you part is meaningless. I agree with the majority of killers.

On a side note as an update, played two survivor games today so far, and both times the killer has disconnected.

    Utterly ridiculous.

  • @Ultra_Dyce said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1019509#Comment_1019509

New ruin isn't even that bad. If you are applying pressure across the map, by downing survivors in a timely manner, it will be passively regressing everything because they have to leave the gens to do unhooks. It also means you don't have to stop and kick gens while you are chasing people off them, they just start regressing automatically.

It will punish killers who refuse to leave a chase, but reward you for quick downs and target swaps. Still liable to be dead in 30 seconds though.

I like the perk in itself. The only problem is its a hex.

The previous Ruin was very powerful and deserved to be a Hex. This ruin doesnt feel anywhere near as powerful. Usually hex's are "must cleanse" actions. This one isnt a "must cleanse".You can just work through it and if your team can perform just basic looping then you're getting out unless you get tunneled or/and camped.

Haven't died to a single killer today as im playing more survivor to genuinely test things out. I had about a 50% survival rate before. Now its 100%

Id love that normally but the games are now over quicker than im waiting in a lobby and feels incredibly boring due to the amount of campers, tunnelers and ease of games now. So theres no satisfaction from surviving now.

I've played more killer games aswell and they're the same as last night. Unless i tunnel at least once then im not getting any kills. I rarely tunneled anyone before and i hate doing it but it does actually feel needed now.
