For context, he's talking about the fact that a Huntress camped the basement after three gens popped during the first chase and his entire team funneled into the basement like lemmings. Naturally, I said they were to blame for their deaths because they fed her.

So a survivor wound up on the hook immediately? Sounds like you went up against a cheater, I'd report that killer if I were you.

No abuse. I don't cheat, glitch, exploit, you name it. I play the game as is, with the intended mechanics. I use DH and often get five tokens before it's destroyed (assuming it didn't spawn out in the open, naturally). Assume whatever you want, I can tell you just want an excuse to avoid addressing my arguments. That's why you're going for ad hominem attacks.

    Also, I main killer, bud.

No, it doesn't. Healing takes 16 seconds, so twice would be 32 seconds. Can you get two hits inside 32 seconds on a moving target with an M1 killer?

I'm the kind of killer who plays however the ######### he pleases, just like the survivors I go up against. I do the same as a survivor, which is where I spend most of my time.

I don't support face camping Bubbas with NOED. That's why I always tell survivors to GTFO instead of rewarding them. However, because survivors reward campers, it is indeed smart to play that way if you're just going for kills. The day survivors stop rewarding campers is the day camping ceases to be a problem.

NOED makes it so the the killer will 100% get two kills if they camp. Solo queues can't find all the bones and do all the gens in less then 2 minutes. All you're saying to me is you play like a dick and are ok with abusing systems, camping, and tunneling to win. So, you can see how people wouldn't really care about your opinion on if things are fair or not, right?

You know you could say that for almost every endgame Perk in the game right.

    With the logic you use

    Remember me

    Blood warden

    Rancor

    Are all clutch perks

NOED exposes everyone for no cost. Rancor exposes one person for a cost. Survivors get to know where you are after popping a gen. Remember just increases the timer for the exit gate and only works if you're finding your obsession and smacking them. Blood warden is only active if you hook someone during the EGC and they're only being seen if they're in the exit gate area. I think all of those perks are fair. Blood warden could be amazing with NOED though. You get a hook and they can't escape while getting one hit.

It's very, very easy to break the totems. Survivors just have to actually do it. How many survivors see totems and completely ignore them?

I'm defending smart plays. One survivor is injured, the other is not. The injured one is the easier target, so it makes more sense to go after them. At best, BT simply evens the playing field and makes it so both survivors require two hits to down. Thing is, because BT isn't shown to the killer, there's no way to know if it was used unless the killer hits the unhooked survivor, so the unhooked survivor is getting hit anyway.

If there's a survivor in the dying state and one that's just injured, which do you heal first? Now imagine a killer perk that makes it so you have to heal them twice. You wouldn't know that the killer is using the perk until you healed, but it's not like you're just gonna think "Well, the killer is using this perk, so I should go heal the other survivor" when you realize it. You'll just heal the original survivor again. That's what BT is like.

Takes a whole lot longer to heal twice than to smack someone twice. The fact that BT actually bothers you is pretty fun. I main killer and can't think of many situations where it's just a poor decision to go for the unhooker. The fact that you feel like you have to defend going for the unhooked so much really makes me wonder what kind of killer you are to play against. Do you support face camping Bubbas with NOED? It's a smart play. They can't do all the gens and bones before you get a second hook to camp. So, really you should just play Bubba, pop on NOED, and camp. I mean... It's smart, right?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330209#Comment_1330209

Yes, the point of those perks is to provide second-chances for survivors. Punishing the killer for being smart is simply a side-effect.

NOED is much easier to deal with.

Not really. It's easier to slug a survivor for a few seconds if you think they have DS than it is to do all the bones. It's easier to hit the unhooker and not the unhooked than it is to do all the bones. Borrowed doesn't punish the killer for playing smart. Why are you trying to defend hitting survivors that just got unhooked? NOED doesn't hurt SWFS that are really good. It punishes the solo players that already have a hard time lol

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330184#Comment_1330184

If DS is meant to punish the killer for "tunneling", why does it activate even after the survivor is healed or if someone else was hooked?

If BT is meant to punish the killer for going after the unhooker, why does it only activate during unsafe unhooks?

    They're second-chance perks, nothing more.

That's the point of the perk. If you had read my other comments I literally said DS should have other means to deactivate. Working on a gen or being outside a certain radius. BT is not a broken perk. It's meant to reward you for making a risky play. If they hit the unhooked then it's not an unsafe hook anymore, right? You both got away. NOED is way more broken lmao

no no no no no ive won TONS of games when all the gens are done. Its not over till those slimy butt survivors leave. I used to love running remember me builds. Me downing a survivor after a chase i consider a little win and on their part a little lose not a total one just like winning a battle not the war but they get rewarded for losing the battle. Ds rewards you for getting picked up after getting off the hook, unbreakable rewards you for getting into dying state etc etc those are you losing in aspects of the game no way can they be considered winning you dont say hey guys i just won against the killer aka he downed me.

nononono. DS punishes YOU for tunneling. That's the point of the perk. It's not rewarding the survivor for getting picked up after getting unhooked lmao. Borrowed punishes YOU for going for the unhooked and not the unhooker. If you're going against good killers you're going to get hit and go down. That's why survivors die after 3 hooks. The game knows they will get hit and hooks. You can't compare losing all your gens and one hitting to a survivor running around injured and not making noise. They are completely different things. I'm also not saying it's unwinnable after the gens are done. I'm saying it is usually a failure on your part if they all get done. Much for than a survivor getting hook/hit. It's much easier to hit a survivor than it is for the survivors to pop gens if you're getting in their way. Also, it can be a win after getting downed by the killer if you ate up enough of their time. The game isn't "Run from the killer and then get away" it's "run from the killer and try and waste his time as my friends do gens so that WHEN he hits and downs me it's worth it"

i never said losing 5 gens isnt avoidable i said losing gens in general is unavoidable so where is the meta killer perks that kick in when you lose a gen. And i quote "NOED is rewarding you for basically losing" cant i say the same for ds,borrowed, soul guard, unbreakable, deliverance. Also i played 7 games today and 3 of them were haddon so i hate everything today.

You can't say the same for those. No. NOED rewards you for losing all 5 gens. It rewards you for losing. Perks that give you information when a gen pops is fine. You'll likely lose a gen or two, but losing all 5 means you lost the game. The perks you listed don't reward you for losing. Name the perk that lets you jump off death hook at full health. None of the perks you're bringing up are anywhere near the power level of NOED. DS will rob you of a hook sometimes. Borrowed stops you from tunneling. Unbreakable is countered by just hooking them. Soul guard isn't even really good and unbreakable forces you to stay injured to get use.

  • @metalklok said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330125#Comment_1330125

getting hit is avoidable. Its built into the game with loops and pallets and windows and ledges to help survivors to not get hit. Im sure you've seen gross ass rng spawns of jungle gym window into window that leads into either another jungle gym or just tons of pallets. Look at hadden field just thinking about it grosses me out because how safe it is for survivors to not get hit. I Think its hard not to get hit but the game shouldn't reward either side for playing bad, image if killer had a 8 meta perks like survivor that rewards losing. I cant wait for the perk that blocks off gens for 30 seconds when the survivors finish a gen and using your own logic i could say that losing gens is unavoidable so perks like this should be fine.

Losing all 5 gens is very avoidable. Much more avoidable that taking a whole 1 hit in a match. With the map changes you can't run the killer than long. You aren't playing haddon every match. One hitting everyone is a much better buff than most the buffs the second chance perks give survivors other than adrenaline. Getting hit and hooked is going to happen every game. You can't compare one hitting everyone because you lost all five gens to being able to tank a hit after being unhooked. Like you didn't even list adrenaline in your crutch perk list which is insane lol

I get you, when I play as survivor I hate getting facecamped then someone coming to save me and noed pops, but it is what it is, I just wish some perks from both sides would get reworked/tweaked.

I 100% agree. I think DS needs some additional ways for it to turn off other than a time limit and I think adrenaline needs a total rework. I main killer and barely play survivor. Trust me I have some opinions on a few survivor perks lol

im just pointing out that all those survivors perks that i mentioned reward the player for playing bad aka getting hit or downed.

That's the thing though. It's not always bad to get hit as survivor. Protection hits are a great example. Also, getting hit is unavoidable. You're going to get hit at some point. NOED is rewarding you for basically losing.

  • @OldHunterLight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1330109#Comment_1330109

But you are just describing that gen rush is the best way to play this game (technically it is) but it's just like people say, just do bones or remember where totems are, if noed pops look at them, if it isn't then go to the next totem, rinse and repeat until noed is found, unless the killer forces you out, you really don't need to do all totems, you can just remember where they are and waste 14 seconds once instead of 70 seconds for all plus the time it takes you to get there.

In a regular game I agree. I think NOED is a waste of a perk slot. You really shouldn't get to the point where it would proc if you're playing well or not going against people who are amazing at the game and on comms. I just don't appreciate a perk being in the game that makes camping such a viable strat, man.

It's possible on coms, but most of the player base isn't a 4 man swf. If you do amazingly well and there's very little pause between totems and gens you can do it. You can't just balance the game around 4 man swfs playing amazingly tho, you know?

kinda like how ds,borrowed, soul guard, unbreakable, deliverance, iron will, fixated, dead hard, reward you for being hit

I wouldn't consider borrowed, unbreakable, deliverance, or fixated to be unfair perks. Also, dead hard isn't amazing imo. Most people just dead hard and get hit because killers expect you to have it. DS can be frustrating and I think it should turn off if you work on a gen or get out of a certain radius of the killer plus have the time limit on it. Adrenaline is closer to NOED in being a crutch perk. Unbreakable is one use and just kinda punishes slugging. Iron will is good if you're comfortable being injured and like using the perks that give you bonuses for being injured. Fixated is meh. What is seeing your scratch marks really gonna do for you, you know? One hitting everyone just because the exit gates open is much more of a crutch than any of those you listed. Soul guard is just borrowed but worse and borrowed isn't even good if the killer just goes for the unhooker. Which is smart because most survivors run DS

  • I don't use NOED for two reasons. It would rarely proc for me and because it's a crutch perk that rewards killers for not playing well. That's all it does. You can't expect survivors to do 5 gens and all the bones within the time it takes for one person to die on hook. There's just not the time for it. Survivor takes 2 minutes to die on hook. Takes 80 seconds if everyone does a gen and it takes 14 seconds per totem plus the time to find all the totems. No good killer uses NOED because NOED will only help killers who aren't playing well.

Its funny when campers call me out for gen rushing after I already did 3 bones.

Bones don't take that much time to do especially when you have 3 survivors able to do gens unimpeded.

When I play killer I for the most part don't let the game reach the point that NOED even spawns or when it does happen most of the time it doesn't matter.

You know that haunted grounds make it so only 3 totems need to be cleansed to stop NOED right? NOED doesn't replace active hex totems even if they are just Haunted grounds.

Secondly who does hex totems against a spirit who doesn't seem to have any curse effects?

Finally do bones if you think NOED is that broken. Theres even archives that reward you for doing bones right now on 2 levels.

I don't play survivor much. Most survivors are gonna do active totems. I've never seen a game where haunted doesn't proc. So, he's using haunted for one shots early and then NOED to one shots late. Plus it's not always just do bones. Especially if you're against a camper. You can't gen rush and then also do bones. If you don't think NOED and broken on it's own you're whacky bro

With how bad match making is atm I really can't blame anyone for bringing it so they can stand a chance if they are mismatched well above what they could realistically play against.

I mean I think you can use it. I also think it's a broken perk. Especially when he paired it up with haunted grounds lol. That's less having it for a safety net and just wanting free wins.

Wow, that's an interesting reaction to Huntress, imagine if there was an option for you to turn it off, would you play her more? Also, I used to do horribly against stealth killers until I began to run Spine chill lol.

Spine chill doesn't warn you about GF and Wraith I don't think

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    Play as:

Huntress and Nurse—Too hard and frustrating to learn, and ultimately not worth it.

    Trapper—His traps don't exist.

    Clown—His bottles don't do anything.

Myers—105 Killer who gets cucked by Spine Chill.

    Hag—Confusing.

    Play against:

Ghostface—No one stalks with him, they just equip Sloppy with double cooldown addons and play Tru3face. W key warriors with no red stain.

Wraith—For some reason, I just can't see his shimmering. Even if he's right there and I'm looking straight at him, I can't see him. And believe it or not, I actually like using my eyes to visually sense my opponent in video games, especially when they're both silent and fast. Also, most Wraiths are sweatier than a man trapped in a burning building.

Spirit—Can't tell where she is. While she moves almost twice as fast me. And can figure out exactly where I am by having ears.

Deathslinger—He looks at you and you're dead. Reacting to your opponent by pulling out a gun does not belong in a predictive, melee-based game.

Hag—Bad Hags are insanely easy to loop and very boring to get perma-camped by. Good Hags are living proof that this Killer is completely broken.

The double cooldown addons are the only good addons for GF. I don't disagree about everyone using the actual best Ghostface build in the game tho. Kinda how a lot of Survivors use adrenaline, DS, and Dead Hard.

  • I picked Ghostface to be my main the day I bough the game just because I really like the movies. I can see how he could be frustrating because he is 100% the best stealth killer in the game. Especially with my build. Sloppy, nurses, and bbq. I swap between discordance and thana just depending on my mood. He's a killer that can just end chases before they even happening and keep everyone injured easily. People aren't playing wraith because he's only good with addons and clown's power is just low tier.

The fact that you didn't say you see lots of spirits is crazy to me though. She's the best killer in the game right now.

  • It's obviously to have a stopwatch on standby to start when someone is unhooked and you can know when it's safe to hook them again.

What info would it give to swf which they already have? I can't think of one tbh

If it gives a sort of kindred aura of the killer you can't mind game effectively. It's why people like I'm All Ears on killer. You can tell where the survivor is going and cut them off. It would really depend on how long and how close to the hook you need to be for it to activate. Kindred is already in the game though and I use it.

Incorrect. Survivors reward camping. If a killer is camping, they are in no position to stop totems from getting cleansed.

There is PLENTY of time. Unless literally nobody on your team can run the killer, then it becomes a skill issue, in which case, the old term "git gud" comes into play. Stop blaming your gameplay screwups on everyone else and admit when you're the problem.

also 2 minutes at least to get all totems plus 14 seconds for each to be destroyed (if they don't run any slow downs) then 80 per gen to pop. Takes a survivor 2 minutes to die on hook. He's gonna get a second person and then face camp them. That's a game ruined for 2 people.

also if they split on gens it takes 80 seconds per gen. It takes a survivor 120 seconds to die on hook. 14x5 for the totems. You do not have enough time to counter a face camper before they get a second person.

See, that argument doesn't work both ways, Mr. Entitled Survivor Main. NOED is deactivated all game. It doesn't exist until the end. It can be prevented entirely FROM existing - and the ones who control whether it exists or not...wait for it...survivors. So, be less lazy. :)

Also, stop using DS and Adrenaline. Then you can complain about NOED. Until then, run along and keep dying to NOED because you didn't cleanse totems.

You will never win this argument.

Lmao I'm a killer main, bud. I think NOED, DS, and adrenaline all need reworks. I'm sorry you have such a narrow view of the players of the game that a person who mains killer can't have a difference of opinion. NOED can be countered by SWF easily enough. They all communicate and keep track of how many totems are left. HOWEVER, it can't be countered nearly as well by solos. That's who NOED ruins. It means everyone is gonna have to spend upwards of 2 minutes, if they're lucky, looking and breaking totems. Then you're going to have people checking for dull totems after all the totems are gone. Which then rewards bad and lazy killers. You can't gen rush a face camper anymore. They're going to have NOED 99% of the time and that's gonna soak up the survivors time instead of doing the gens. NOED needs to be changed to be more like devour and work off a token system. You shouldn't get to one shot everyone just because they powered the exit gates and didn't do every totem on the map. So, think through things a bit harder

  • @DwightOP said:

Totem counter wouldn't buff SWF, chase indicator wouldn't buff SWF, aura of camping killer wouldn't buff SWF.. There are a lot of options if the devs would even try. But they don't try.

True those could be good. Camping killer aura could be iffy depending on how long you need to be around the hook. If you're in a chase around the hook that could give a lot of info even if you aren't camping

And Now take a little step further and think about why nobody wants to play solo? This game was constantly treated as a SWF vs KILLER game and solos got nearly 0 attention. If the devs would have focused on solos more we would have more players actually playing solo aswell which would make such an optional more reasonable than now.

I agree. The solo experience is not great at all, but imo I feel like any decent buff you give that would greatly improve the solo experience would buff swf beyond belief. They could have it so perks differ depending on if you're a swf or a solo and that could work. That's a lot of work they'd have to put in though. Like DS and adrenaline imo are perfectly balanced in solo. They're deadly in the hands of a swf though.

  • hurting my GF nurses/sloppy build fefes

  • Sadly there's not much that could be done about camping and tunneling without also hurting the people that don't do that. If they paused hook timers if you're within a certain radius it would be abused. If they made it so you lose blood points people would feel as if they were unfairly judged just because they saw a survivor near the hook and got looped. I couldn't really think of any fixes for those "strategies" that wouldn't break the game somewhat. And DS isn't just an anti-tunneling perk. It's also a free unhook perk because you got stabbed and picked up after saving 59.5 seconds after you got hooked.
