I thought you had a problem with what I said because you thought I was complaining or something because the original poster dude was.
Also, I disagree about that being a good strategy because in my game, no one went down there. I didn't even know who the killer was until he told me.
Yeah, it's not a good strat. I was just being sarcastic

She's terrible enough not to bother with anyway. Just another reason to never learn nurse
Just because you lack the patience and skill to learn her doesn't mean she's terrible. A good nurse outclasses every killer in the game

Don't know why you said "duh," but whatever makes you feel better about yourself. 👍
Because I clearly wasn't being serious? Like even in text form that's obvious. Really pressed I said duh when I said that bubba going straight to the basement is a good strat lmao

Fundamentally this issue will never be solved without a massive rework to how the game plays (which is very unlikely to happen) because the fun of this game comes from your interactions with the killer and the most effective way to play is essentially for 1 person to do the fun stuff while everyone else does gens and waits their turn for the fun part.
This is a cold hard fact.
-
@0mikeya0 said:
I've had that happen before
I asked them where they were and they said:
"Basement bubba protect box"
🤷🏼♂️
Basement Bubba is the best way to play the game. If you want to get hit and hooked just go to the basement for him duh
-
DS needs some changes to really be an anti-tunnel perk imo. Getting hit 59 seconds after the unhook and after you've already chased other survivors isn't anti-tunneling. It's just a free health state.
-
Honestly, head on is my favorite exhaustion perk in the game. Much more creative use than the others.

Healing against a Ghostface with Nurses? Well, good luck Charlie

I didnt tried killers like Wraith on this map yet, but i am right that they still suck, especially myers this poor man
Oh no 100% the map is terrible. I just don't know about it being better for either side. I think it's just bad all around

Yeah haven't had these sound bugs much but did have a game where I was patrolling gens listening for any progress and not hearing any chugging and just as I'm walking away from one it pops.
oof that could not have felt good lmao

Midwich seems only to sucks for killer, did you saw HOW MANY PALLETS in square there is? Almost all the pallets are safe, i found a area with literally two pallets in the same place, the amount of breakable walls that we NEED to break is HUGE
Played the new map twice in a row and 4ked twice. Might just be good for Ghostie because it's like a ######### maze lmao
-
I play almost exclusively killer and these sound bugs I've been hearing about haven't actually hurt me at all. I hear footsteps most of the time and I've never seen a survivor jump out a window and not grunt and I haven't had any silent slugs. Is it situational or just some games and I'm lucky?
Also, in my experience gen rushing doesn't really happen. At least when you have decent slow down perks. Corrupt and pop being the best obviously
-
How is Ghostface C? Scream changed the horror genre greatly. It was also, while not a full parody, one of the first horror movies to joke about itself. Not to mention being one of the most iconic horror killers in general. I'm sure you'd struggle to find people that have never seen that mask before.

That's pretty much my list, too. But I'd put Ghostface at C tier because if his reveal mechanic wasn't so broken he wouldn't get half the kills he does.
His reveal is bad for both sides. GF will get revealed even if there's a rock between him and the survivor. The strength of GF isn't his stalk. It's just him being able to stealth and move full speed while being completely black. With the right info and slow down perks GF is great with or without his broken reveal. I agree with his placement.

I cannot say I agree about Pyramid Head, maybe to an extent, but YES, I'm so glad someone else realizes what's happening to new killers. Everyone pay attention to what he's saying there.
Freddy, Doc, Oni, Plague; A lot of new killers have this same problem where their power is either something you do or don't. It's not something as exciting and genius as Trapper, where you have a million options, from only one variable. THAT is a good killer design. Give players a simple unique power, and let them be as creative as possible with it. Stop making these convoluted dictionary long description killers at an attempt of making a more balanced one. Even Pyramid Head unfortunately is guilty of this.
Billy? You have a chainsaw. Be creative with it. No charge up meter, no flashy icons, no bells and whistle, just a good design. Same for Huntress, Hag, Trapper, Wraith, etc.
I feel it started going downhill starting with Spirit. We've seen our comebacks like Deathslinger, but for the most part, I think the best things the devs can do to address this, is stop making a new chapter for a moment, and instead REFINE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. Seriously, we're at 20 killers already. There's so much to work with, and so much wasted potential in this game. When it comes to designing killers, it's like anything else in life: Less is More.
I agree with most of what you said except a few things. Oni definitely requires skill. Just like Myers he's an m1 killer until the game has gone on for a good minute and then he juices up and can snowball insanely well. I love trapper and the idea of him, but in practice he's really just not a killer that thrives in this game and requires a great amount of game knowledge and skill to be of any use. He also has to sacrifice most of the beginning of the game to set up. Hag is just trapper but better.
The Devs definitely need to stop and just fix the game for awhile though. I think that's something everyone can agree with

If you don't think totally disregarding a whole portion of gameplay and perks isn't unfair then idk what else I can possibly say to you.
There are perks and killers that already do that. OoO ruins a hag or trapper. Spinechill? Good luck stealth killers. I already said I think the cages should be counted as hooks. I just don't care all that much about one killer out of the 20 making hook perks sometimes useless. He's not going to be able to cage you every time. Plus the rest of his kit is p mediocre lmao

A PH not always tunneling doesn't change the fact his cages are absolutely gameplay-breaking currently.
I disagree. They definitely aren't game breaking lol

A bubba who facecamps isn't a guaranteed every match. I haven't faced one of those in a long time, but I've faced many bubbas. A PH is always going to have his cages. And those will always be unbalanced.
A PH will not always tunnel though. Just like not every bubba will camp. Just because the killer can be toxic and tunnel/camp effectively doesn't mean they'll all do it. The cages also don't proc killer perks either. Devour hope and BBQ and every other hook perk is completely useless if the PH wants to tunnel you. I think it should count as a hook, but I'm not against it being treated differently.

So everyone should just kill themselves to get a better match and better killer. Because that's what "suck it up" does. What a good DLC.
People have been sucking up having to go against face camping bubbas for a long time. They aren't going to change PH for a long time. He will always counter DS with the cage. I think it needs to be changed, but some things people complain about would require a full rework.

I don't take the ranks as measurements, they are meaningless and not even good.
Well, that's what the Devs think it is. It's the only progression to make in the game. Pips = win

What progress? Progress to rank 1 for what? Are you new to dbd? Imagine someone takes ranking thaz serious when there is NO MEANING behind it.
It's still the progression system of the game. Merciless and Ruthless means you won and brutal means it was a tie.
-
Yeah you'll be facing red ranks all throughout your ranking up experience. You just need to learn fast

Um....Movies/TV series all have had alot of LGBTQ+ representation both main/minor character and where Video games shouldn't be a focus for such things.
If movies and tv have it why shouldn't games? What's it really matter if they make a character apart of the LGBTQ+? Seems like a pointless thread to me lol

They have randomized elements in each level that are generated on the fly when loading in. Window placement, hooks, etc. It's not simple PERSON GO WHOOSH KILLER GO RAAAGH. MAKE RED GO SPLOOSH.
If they want their game stable, they'd need to throw out all the RNG.
None of that compares to the complexity of siege. You can't say "Siege is still buggy" to try and devalue DBD doing it. DBD would benefit greatly from it. I seriously doubt the hooks, pallets, windows, and the basement being random is what's making their game buggy as all hell
-
Two completely different developers. Two VERY different games. Siege is probably one of the hardest games to fix just because of it's destruction system. DBD is literally just models moving around and doing small actions. A full chapter to fix bugs would help 100%

No, its your personal opinion that PIPs are what determine a win or a loss. And the idea that you cannot camp and pip is fallacy. I am a red rank survivor, red rank killers camp. So your logic is very easily flawed. FACE camping is the least rewarding type of camping in the game...IF the survivors don't try and be altruistic (which, btw is their main generation of BP in addition to interacting with the Killer). A killer can still easily pip if they do...or if they are just smart enough to proxy instead of face camp because they'll get numerous hooks out of making a 17m circle around a single hook. So the whole idea that it is in any way unrewarding is ridiculous. Its lazy. Its cheap. It ruins matches for everyone involved.
No... Pips are 100% what determines a win. A 4k ruthless game is great. A 4k merciless is 100% more of a win. It's what makes you rank up or down and that's how the progression system works. I honestly don't care about proxy camping there's no way to take that out of the game or punish it without punishing a killer for getting ran around near a hook. If they aren't face camping you can get an unhook easily with some teamwork. Face camping is what I think is unhealthy and face will depip you almost every time.
-

They have also openly said this is not an ideal play style, that they're looking for ways to make it less desirable, and no...face campers are not punished. They're BP is typically fine and they clearly dont care about depipping. Why would they? They'll get matched with even easier targets.
pips are what determine a win or loss. If you camp you won't pip. Everyone who actually plays will outrank all the facecampers.
-
Devs have said it's a legit way to play and they already punish facecampers. If that's all you do you will depip
-

I'm not talking about that, but it's true. I'm specifically talking about the people that are "protesting".
I don't think anyone is actually protesting personally. I think people say they are and use it as an excuse
-
They aren't doing it because of the character. That's the excuse sure, but they're doing it because it's a new character and has only been out for a few days and that mean they're low level and likely don't have all the best perk. That means easy kills
-
Also, it's bull that it's better to go after the unhooked. Just injure the unhooker before or as they're unhooking and then BOOM two injured survivors.
-
no it just needs more ways to deactivate to actually make it an anti tunneling perk to avoid it being abused

I am fine with the content that they've already got and had. What's ruining the game are all the bugs they won't fix but instead keep multiplying. If this is their way of changing the meta by just making a bunch of perks useless then I guess good job. Just remove em.
It makes some perks less useful. You aren't going to always be tormented. He's going to hook people. Also, it's ONE killer. He's going to be popular for a minute and then everyone is going to go back to their mains. I agree that the bugs suck and need to be focused on. I don't know if the cage not counting as a "hook" is a bug though since it doesn't activate perks that killers would get for hooking.

Countering DS is literally the most powerful thing in the game for killer, games with no obsessions are absolutely free wins if you play optimally and the most unfun and unhealthy thing there is for survivors. DS is the best survivor perk in the game, BT is in the top 10 easily.
You're assuming a majority of killer mains are going to play PH, play optimally, and just tunnel everyone off hook.... I rarely see anyone actually "tunnel" which is a style the Devs have openly said is fine. So, them making a killer that is good at tunneling isn't surprising and to change his ability to not support tunneling would require a complete rework. So, sorry but people are just gonna have to suck it up and use a different second chance perk if it scares them that much
-
@OperationMintyHippo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1364842#Comment_1364842
Because you take away BT and DS for two days and killers go tunnel crazy lol. So, yes. Why do you think those perks ever became meta? Because that's how a majority of killers played. It became a necessity. ######### think my guy.
You say killers like every killer is playing PH. There's one killer than can counter DS and BT. He's far from op and countering DS isn't that big of a deal. Less and less people have been using it recently anyways. If BHVR doesn't release killers and perks that will shake up the meta the game will get old and stale. ######### think my guy
-
I seriously doubt it'll get fixed anytime soon. It's probably very far down on their lists on bugs since reveal only really effects him
-
Sloppy, Nurses, BBQ, and Discordance. Use these and just hit and run. Don't commit to chases and don't stalk all that much. You could replace Discordance with a slowdown perk like corrupt or Pop, but when you get good enough as killer and especially GF you won't really need them.
Basically use stealth all the time and use your info perks to get free downs because you're going to be keeping everyone injured.
-
Fr Ghostface is clearly S+++ because he can crouch spam back
-
It won't get fixed. His reveal has been broken since he came out.
-
Just use the cooldown addons. They're the only ones that are worth
-
GF would actually be S++++++ if they added the Wazzup mask. Until then he's merely S+ because of his sigh is the most relatable thing a killer in the game can do
-
One day you'll learn the bait the hook properly
-
lmao
-
When you don't really know how the power works and make a giant thread about nothing
-
People don't like to lose. That pretty much sums it up
-
He's far from too powerful. No need to nerf him imo
-
Pretty sure they're just gonna make moris apart of every killers base kit like Pyramid Head. That is if they ever get around to changing it
-
Because it's a game
-
You guys know this is bait, right?
