I can't think of any killer that could get more than one kill against that.
I wouldn't use NOED since most swf groups can just coordinate constant saves that will be frustrating and leave you frustrated that you wasted a perk slot. It's happened to me. The only time NOED works is with blood warden, but then you're gambling on the end game going the way you want it.
I wouldn't run Corrupt intervention with NOED either. That's two wasted perk slots and you split your efforts between the opening of the match and the end game. Choose to double down on the end game with NOED + Blood warden or Corrupt intervention and Discordance or Surveillance.
My Ghostface build has been Im all ears, Infectious fright, Mad grit, and nurses calling. It's a good all around build for him that counters a lot of the sweaty swf stuff and helps you slug and snowball. I'll usually have mad grit be my variable slot, depending on the lobby I might switch it out for franklins, BBQ, or corrupt intervention.
With that said, even with a perfect build you're still not going to do well against that. I lose to those kinds of groups all the time. I dodge lobbies just to avoid the full red rank matches, but there's always at least one in the lobby 😑
I run sloppy, Nurses, BBQ, and then the last perk is just whatever I feel like. Could be discordance or Thana. Probably discordance. It's really good if you don't play stalk heavy or commit to chases. Just pop up for your free hits and grabs. I win most games I play pretty handily.

Coming from the dude rocking BBQ, Nurses, NOED, and Corrupt with an iri addon, on a killer with an arguably broken insta-down ability basekit. Your build isn't any more enjoyable.
Against good teams NOED is a waste of a perk slot. Period. You'll get zero use. That iri is pointless because it forces him to stalk which is honestly not a smart strat against good SWFs and it forces him to lean. Leaning was already fast enough. GF's best addons are just the ones that reduce his recharge time. Heals don't take long even with sloppy and even if they don't heal nurses becomes useless. His kit is FAR from not being enjoyable. It's entirely possible his only useful perk was Corrupt and Corrupt could have just pushed them to go for totems until the gens opened lmao

What? Have you ever even played ghostface before in red ranks? Obviously you haven't if you think he has a broken insta down basekit. He gets taken out of his ability with 0 effort sometimes. If you think ghostface has a broken insta down youve never played a against a myers and it shows. "Broken insta down basekit" you have no clue what you're talking about at all.
Facts. GF is much better as a stealth hit and runner. Myers has a way better insta down lmao

It's not that easy. She has a learning curve like every killer. If you can't use her ability well you're just an m1 killer

He's so fun to play. His stealth is a lot more accessible than the Pig.
Going from 20 to 10 I played him the majority of the time. From 10-1 he just couldn't keep up.
I mostly play killer. I picked GF as my main the day I bought the game and got so used to his play style that I have trouble trying new killers. I think if you play GF as a hit and run killer and are a general bother to everyone I think it's a bit hard to counter. He's also just straight up the best stealth killer in the game. He can run full speed with no terror radius or stain and his model is mostly dark. A mix of information perks and regression or general slow down perks make him amazing. I'm rank 7 atm and don't really have issues and didn't when I was higher rank. I took a long break and rank reset kicked me down a bit.

maybe you meant play with your food or dead man switch with nemesis
because only those perks worthy even if you not going meta perks
still only i can understand those combination either you not red or playing dbd on console
Play with your food is one of the most popular perks in the game. It's definitely meta. Nemesis is the best way to get quick procs. Also, you don't really need meta perks to win as killer.

surge is very situational and weak 8% is nothing but 6.4s
nemesis is different but still situational and weaker than meta perk and it costs slot
I don't think it's situational though? It's clearly meant for an obsession build and works amazingly for switching your obsession. 8% isn't a lot and it takes no work for you to get. Simply down someone near a gen and most of the time people aren't going to just jump right back onto the gen if you're playing well. So, it's 8% plus the bit of regression you'll get. It would be a lot better if they took away the cooldown. Pop is still the best regression perk, but I wouldn't turn away surge.
-
Obviously Ghostface needs a buff. He doesn't have the perfect 2 survivors escaping on average. Dev c'mon
-
The counter is to be a god tier swf and do the bones with no downtime between the gens and the bones. It's so easy

Absolutely none of those perks are worth using outside of some niche gimmick builds besides Inner Strength.
The devs excuse is something along the lines of "we don't want to feel pressured to constantly make better and better perks (power creep)". Hey, great in theory. In practice, it makes for a stale meta that lasts for years. And honestly, if I were a survivor main I would feel no motivation to purchase new DLC. For us killers, at least if our perks are ######### we still get a new killer that plays differently from others and (hopefully) is fun. Survivors get nothing besides the perks and I guess a new skin that you have to level up to use (IE, new survivor). Couldn't imagine paying for new survivors knowing you'll never use any of the perks.
Surge isn't worth using? Surge is a great regression perk for m1 killers. Nemesis is amazing on obsession builds and I'm all ears can ruin some loops and mind games. It's just the timer that sucks.

Well let’s see, first of all, between Perks like We’ll Make It and Inner Strength being popular, and the fact that the god status was removed from instaheals and dispersed to medkits as a whole, there are plenty, PLENTY of commonplace ways to heal so incredibly fast that neither Sloppy nor Nurse’s see much use. So those two Perks are now completely void. Second of all, why make them waste time healing which requires you to chase them more, when you can just, you know, stalk them? It renders their healing useless and you get much more bang for your buck out of one use of Night Shroud.
Those are the two primary reasons: Healing has been given steady buffs ever since its original nerf, and half of Ghostface’s entire power is rendering healing utterly pointless. You can end chases much more quickly if you stalk effectively, and now you’re totally free to use half of your Perk slots on something that bolsters Ghostface’s weaknesses rather than pretends to play to his strengths, i.e. a stall or map control Perk to compensate for his lack of mobility.
And before you say anything about getting revealed before you can stalk someone: If they can reveal you while you’re stalking, they can reveal you while you’re not stalking. Tru3face can still be revealed just as easily as normal Ghostface. If you get revealed trying to go for a free hit instead of stalking, congrats, you have no power AND the target is completely unharmed. Now you have to wait for your power to come back before you can put your “good” build into action. At least with stalking, the target can be one-shot.
TL;DR: Tru3face is an inefficient, wasteful way to use both Night Shroud AND half your Perk slots.
I would agree if it wasn't so incredibly easy to get the addons that make night shroud only take 16 seconds to come back. If you have to wait 30 full seconds just for one free hit that's pretty terrible. I've personally never had issues with getting revealed. The mechanic is so busted atm where it just doesn't happen much for me. I could see thinking nurses and sloppy won't get use, but the tactic of using your power to be a general bother to everyone and not really committing to chases isn't a bad one at all. I personally think it's best to do both. Stalk to 99 when you can and go for those free smacks when you can, but I wouldn't call Tru3's build trash in any sense. Especially because you don't really need a perfect build to do good with GF. Also, there are a good amount of spots where you just won't get a good stalk off and need to just pop up for a hit or a grab. You aren't just going to be able to stalk and one shot every person on every gen. Obviously every has a right to their opinion and I think yours holds some water with the healing buffs. You are still slowing the game some when forcing everyone to heal and if they don't heal they're one shot anyway. Really punishes the insane people that still run self care lol

Most killers dont have that luxury, its why freddy is so strong. he doesn't lose time after he commited for a single hit, after that single hit he can just teleport to a gen. With a normal killer and no sloppy even selfcare is better than what ppl account for because it takes like what...24 secs to heal yourself after you wasted the killers time for AT LEAST 20 seconds while you still have teammates?
Yeah, honestly. It's one of the reasons I feel like I've never been able to relate to the "survivor sided" arguments even though I fully feel it when I try new killers. I tend to just level killers in the background if I want their perks and use the shrine. I don't get how people don't think GF is one of the best killers in the game. Maybe because his reveal mechanic is still busted lol

A chase willl always at least last for 20 seconds unless you play stuff like billy that can instadown ppl at will or nurse that can port right after you.
If you don't last 20 seconds against e.g a legion (total chase time, not measured from first hit) then you literally outplayed yourself by trying to play around a nearby loop instead of going distance.
True. It can be harder for killers that actually have to chase. I don't really need to chase as GF. It's super easy to just do hit and runs and bother everyone to keep up the pressure. I rarely have a game where a gen pops before I get a hook. Obviously there are those games where people just hold m1 on 3 different gens and they all pop at once while you mess around with their friend.

Hard to fault them for using something they think might even the playing field a bit because you think it'll "hurt newbies".

Because that accounts for optimal survivorplay. Which doesn't happen that often since people are you know...trying to have fun and derp around.
I tried to do optimal play with friends, let's just say I am never invited into regular SWFs with my "doesn't matter if you die we will escape" or "just le me die and escape" attitude.
Yeah, also most people aren't all that good at the game. Most people aren't going to chase you for more than 20-30 seconds unless they're very good and you can usually tell when they're the chasers of the team so you just go for their teammates first, right?

A lot of people use it. Saw a rank one with it last night.
Not everyone who camps use it but the people who do camp rarely ever used it on me due to me doing bones and gens.
Had a Billy camp the basement by the time it took him to down his first person two gens popped
Some people are just not good at chases and or loops.
Anyhow moral of the story you can't really generalize a perk for the sake of CaMpErS
If people did not go down in a 30 sec chase it would not be an issue and if the killer chased you longer then a few minutes they just wasted their own time and if the other teammates did gens congrats on them if they did not then yeah potatoes.
I don't disagree. Most people are bad at chases and in higher ranks NOED isn't used all that much. I worry more about green ranks and the newbies it hurts. I don't think it's a good perk in most situations.

You haven't understood the basis of this game it seems.
The game is designed in a way where all gens WILL pop unless the survivors ROYALLY screw up. Mathematically alone survivors will be able to do all gens unless they derp around or don't last more than 20 seconds in a chase which only happens agaisnt hightier killers that are able to effectively counter loops or instadown and punish hard mistakes.
The devs designed this game around 2 people escaping which is why the gentime is so low, even getting a single hook should always cost you about 1 gen if you calculate chasetime at full resources+finding ppl+hooking them.
You should never be able to 4k survivors who go by the following basics:
Run as far away from still active gens
Don't run to teammates
Do gens and do bones
Don't be overly altruistic
Depip squad did an experiment on this and yeah, those were great players but you don't have to be a great player to hold m1. The main issue is that you will mostly win because holding m1 is boring as hell and doesn't make you pip.
Well, if the devs are going for a 2 survivor escape ratio they've done it poorly. It wasn't even that back before they shrunk the maps and got rid of pallets. I seriously doubt it's that now even though they won't release the stats.

When the game first released looping AT ALL was considered an exploit. Infinites always held that moniker.
Camping is not now nor has it ever been considered an exploit by the devs. And most people dont camp because its inefficient (and honestly kind of boring). But there are times in a match where it makes sense to do so. Just like looping makes sense, and ill give you an example.
I put someone on their 2nd hook. I go away, chase, hook someone else. Tge other dude is still on hook so i come back to check the hook. When i get tgere, theres nobody there and the survivor has maybe 15 20 seconds left. In this situation, camping that last little bit isnt a terrible call. Thats 1 less person working on gens. But it IS camping.
Well, looping certainly isn't an exploit anymore because they put loops in all their maps. I don't think that sort of camping is bad. I think face-camping is bad and NOED is great for face-campers. That's just like my opinion man

It’s like a broken record but the message will never get through. Do totems when you see them, don’t wait til end game when you first see that hex notification pop up it may be too late.
I see survivors run past A totem to loot a chest, basically Close to the same time commitment and I know a medkit would be neat, but that totem should be higher priority. If you ignore totems you don’t get to complain about NOED.
If my team is well ahead of pace, meaning like 3-4 gens done and no one even hooked yet then I ignore gens and go totem hunting
Yes, I agree. It's very easy to do bones in a normal game.

I think I was talking to people in 3 threads. I don't think NOED is great in a regular game. I think it's an issue that it compliments face-camping so well. Which is a strat that is already good against solos. I'm not going out of my way to argue about NOED lol

I agree with the devs that adrenaline and ds are fine specifically. No I dont always agree with the devs, but I can usually explain why with actual justifications. Like nerfing ruin without also implementing changes to ease match speeds. That was a bad decision as so many at tge tine relied on it for a legit reason.
Camping and looping are both strategies employed to help their side meet their objective. 1 is inefficient and bad strategy, the other is efficient and good strategy. So yes, they are comparable. Its just in 2020 1 is frowned upon by the community and the other isnt.
And, just as an aside, only one of them has ever been considered an exploit by the devs (hint, its not camping).
Looping infinites is 100% an exploit. I dunno if I'd say they're comparable unless you're comparing infinites to camping. Most people don't 'camp' though. Staying around a hook because survivors around the hook is 100% fine. I agree with ruin, but I think DS should have a few other ways to turn off. Adrenaline is fine until every single person in the game has it lmao

If you're hitting them you're definitely getting into chases. Hitting triggers the chase conditions. That said, no heal meta is a thing.
I mean getting into a chase as in I focus on the survivor and run behind them. Not the game considering me in a chase. I bop them and then go on my way so that down the road I pop up out of stealth and bop them so they go down. GF is honestly one of the best killers if you use the cooldown addons imo. No terror radius or stain every 16 seconds. Then you have discordance/thana(depending on what you want) and bbq? Survivors are not gonna be having a fun time.

Because I dont think noeds a problem, so we dont agree. I also dont think camping is a problem, so we dont agree there either. Under the current system those new/newish survivors are still going to keep pipping past the guy that uses this specific strat and never changes. Theyll continue getting better, he wont.
Noed wasnt desingned to assist campers, its designed for end game builds. Nerfing it/removing it because some people play like ######### is a poor reason to do so. Just like nerfing DS because some survivors play like ######### while they have it is a bad idea.
I think camping is an issue when it can chase people away from the game. The game having an influx of new people is very important. I'm not gonna change my mind about NOED being unhealthy for the game. So, we can agree to disagree.

NOED doesn't reward camping, the person is already on the hook. NOED is doing nothing to them. Greedy survivors reward camping.
Just leave. Just walk out the door. It's right there, just walk out. Go. It's not hard. Just walk away.
bruh. You have 2 minutes until your friend dies. 80 seconds per gen and 14 seconds per bones. If you're a god tier swf and do everything perfectly that leaves 10 seconds to open the exit gates before your friend dies. Exit gates take 20 seconds. That's if everyone plays perfectly and the person isn't getting camped near bones. Bones can spawn pretty close to a hook.

"Losing 5 gens" does not equal "lost"
This is the issue, its the mindset of "well we finished all 5 gens so we won"
No, you dont win till you escape. Its why end game builds exist. NOED + Remember Me + Blood Warden + Rancor.
People need to get out of this mindset. I cant tell you the number of games where i killed the last 2 or 3 survivors after the gens were done WITHOUT noed.
Yeah it's not an automatic loss when all gens are done, but unless you run endgame builds you don't want gens popping. Also, I don't know if I'd run rancor with NOED. Seems pointless. Like I said, I think it's bad when people camp. I don't think it's great if you play like a normal person. They have time to do the bones in a normal game. In a game with a camper that camper is usually going to kill two people by camping.

It depends on what you consider viable. Someone would need to do tge math but that strat im pretty sure isnt going to get you out of tge green ranks. Even if you 4k every single game (which you wont). I get its annoying, but I think how often you see it is blown WAY out of proportion.
I agree it's not viable. People don't camp to pip or get bp. They camp to ruin people's fun. They're seen in green ranks mostly from what I know. I main killer so obviously I don't experience it

The only issue I see with NOED is that it can reward camping. The direct counter to camping is doing gens and getting out. To do gens and totems generally won't work out. Since gen speed is linked with hook time to punish campers every second counts. Now if a killer is camping it reduced the time to cleanse a totem it may reduce NOED's effectiveness with true campers.
Now if a killer is not camping and the game is going along and NOED procs then that is on the survivors imo.
As for gaming in general well it is punishable and Orion is correct in that regard. If survivors feed it and the killer gets them all then that is on them. The game itself is designed as I mentioned to punish this strat and the killer should only ever get at the most 2 kills and very little points. This makes it non worthwhile. If you reward a strat then you can't blame a player for using it. Think outside the box. It's not about good sportsmanship but using what you have to show the other side its not worthwhile.
What does need changed imo is the emblems and point system so punishing camping is more rewarded.
I fully agree. I don't think NOED is all that good when it's just a regular game. I just see it as a problem because it rewards camping and I'm sure campers don't care about their blood points or pips. Just generally ruining peoples time

It can also be used as part of an end game build. 🤷♂️
True. It's still very powerful and tends to be used as a crutch for when things don't go your way

Nope. NOED can be disabled before it ever triggers and you get more points in the mean time in a category that's difficult to get points for (in my experience). DS stuns you for 5 seconds and you're stuck in a catch-22 scenario where if you eat it early the survivors can just keep pumping out gens and if you eat it late they escape. BT rewards hook farmers and needs to go the way of the dodo bird.
We're gonna have to agree to disagree, bud. I've never had trouble countering either.

Not running, literally just crouching around the hook. I refuse to engage because it's more beneficial if they stay around - fewer survivors on gens.
You shouldn't have to assume BT every game and DS whenever you see an obsession either, but that's how it is.
But you can see how I think DS and BT are less of a threat, right? BT gets countered easily by hitting the unhooker. DS is either going to wear off or frustrate you for a second and then they're gonna get downed again unless they DS you at the exit gates. I think DS is harmful to the game, but I think NOED is much more harmful.

I explained a very specific scenario in which I camp, yes. If you think it's bad to camp when most or all survivors are vulturing around the hook, I don't know what to tell you.
NOED has had nothing but nerfs since launch. At some point, it becomes less about the perk and more about the players who won't counter it.
If they're running you and keeping you around the hook it's not camping. I think NOED isn't great against great players and players with comms or on a killer actually playing the game. I think it's busted when the killer camps. The game already makes it easy to camp. I don't think there should be a perk that makes it so much easier. You shouldn't have to assume NOED every game and do all the bones lol

It does, I abuse it against them.
Huh for some reason I thought it didn't. I main Ghostface and it's never been a problem and spine chill is popular. Maybe people aren't paying attention lol

Unhooking against a camper is a bad move, period. You screwed up, that's why you disconnected in a locker.
I never said her losing 3 gens was the survivors' fault, so I'm not sure why you felt the need to say that.

And I main survivor. Is this relevant?
You just called yourself a camper btw. I was just pointing out that maybe the guy who mains survivor and camps and tunnels as killer doesn't really care all that much how balanced NOED is.
