Isnt the killer hooking someone else the very definition of not tunneling? If your argument is that the killer brought the second Survivor to a hook close to yours, then the unhooker made an unsafe save.

So because your teammates were dumb, you should be punished for it? Yeah, definitely the logic of someone who only plays killer.

  • Pig. I enjoy playing her, and she has a natural built-in mechanic for slowdown (when it works...)

  • Why this is a bad idea:

You're unhooked. At the SAME TIME a survivor is being hooked by the killer. Now the killer is free to come back and tunnel.

DS is mostly fine. It doesn't have to JUST be an anti-tunnel perk. The only time it should be disabled is if you personally unhook someone.

  • Urban Evasion doesn't need a nerf. It's not a top tier perk, and is perfecly fine the way it is. You'd just make it absolutely useless.

A speed reduction to Adrenaline would be fine.

The only change I'd make to DS is that if you unhook someone, it deactivates. I know a lot of people want it to be if someone else is hooked, but there's just too many scenarios where it'd still be tunneling, and DS isn't JUST an anti-tunneling perk anyway. I think nerfing it to only when you're unhooked during the struggle phase just encourages camping.

OoO having a cooldown is a good idea, but it'd still be broken in SWF. Maybe give it a 60 second cooldown.

Spine Chill is fine. Why does it need to be nerfed exactly?

Bond is fine. Why does it need to be nerfed?

Self-care is fine as it is too.

  • I always assume the P3 players have a lot of experience. But I always let their actions in the game dictate how much I go for them. If they're good at chases, I tend to make sure to only chase them in areas I feel comfortable and abandon chases easier. I probably take notice of their skill level more than if they're not a P3 player.

  • You have empathy, so I'd suggest removing self-care and putting a different perk in its place if you have it. With empathy, you can find another injured player and the two of you can heal each other much more efficiently. Maybe bring Kindred so your team can see the killer is camping, and they might not come. And you can see if the killer is camping as well.

  • I never do, but I'm not petty and I run STBFL so it'd be counterproductive anyway. Then again, I almost never get hit by DS because I don't tunnel to begin with.

  • Survivors:

-For your first few games, play with a friend who has borrowed time.

-Play Killer a few times to get an idea of what killers can see.

-Search for totems and cleanse them. Killers don't see the aura of any non-hex totems, so they won't be patrolling them. Searching for Totems will also help you learn the maps.

-If you have trouble finding generators, Run Deja Vu until you get a sense for where they are.

-After being sacrificed, Spectate! Watch other players and see what works for them and what doesn't.

    Killers:

-Don't panic. If three gens pop before your first hook, keep a cool head. It might not be over yet. Especially if the last four generators are closer together.

-Don't feel like you did bad if everyone escapes. If you get 6 or 7 hooks, you did a really good job! No matter what that mean old entity says.

-Give up on a survivor if it feels like you've been chasing them too long.

-Stick with one killer for a while before trying different killers. Get used to using their power.

-Don't camp. You're missing out on valuable experience in exchange for getting a 4K. The Experience with chases will help you a lot more in the long run. Camping isn't as viable when you reach higher ranks, where players know how to punish camping.

  • What do you expect them to do? Miss their DS on purpose because you didn't tunnel? "Oh, this guy didn't tunnel. I'm not going to use my perk at all this game and only play with three." That's not to mention that from their perspective it might be reasonable that they thought you were tunneling. Even if you weren't. They can't see what you're doing. Like do you as killer bring NoED and then go "I didn't get gen rushed, so I won't use NoED"

  • I play both sides pretty equally. So I understand the frustrations of both sides, especially since I ONLY solo queue. (Or SWF with One person, but I haven't done that in a long time). As a survivor there's a LOT that's out of your control. If you get hooked, will the killer camp or tunnel? If you get saved, will your teammate have BT or will they farm you? Which gens are your teammates doing? Are they doing totems? I need to find a teammate to heal up. WHY DID THEY JUST DROP THAT PALLET? THE KILLER IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP? (This happened to me today in the killer shack. I think it was an accident, they were trying to heal me, but dropped the pallet instead. So not their fault.) It's also easy to three gen yourselves. Of the 3 games I played today as survivor, TWO of them we ended up three genning ourselves. I got out of the second one, thanks to committing to a gen as soon as he left it. But that game lasted a LONG time.

As a killer the most frustrating thing I think is when you can't find survivors. Like if you guess wrong where they spawned, you're in for a bad time. Had a game the other night with four Bill's who all had spine chill and essentially avoided me most of the match. I couldn't even down one of them until 4 gens had been done. At which point my RBT's were mostly useless. I mean I patrolled the map listening for gens, but none seemed to be worked on. Then all of a sudden they were popping VERY fast. And don't get me started on Sanctuary of Wrath Claudettes.

It's good to play both sides. You learn a lot, and I think it makes you a better overall player.

  • I don't play many online games. So I can't really speak to the toxicity of this game vs others. While I've run into a lot of people who are a bit toxic, I've also run into people who are just really nice. All types play the game, and I think its something easy to forget sometimes.

  • Just run Calm Spirit if you hate running into Doctor so much.

If a killer tunnels you into a locker, they still tunneled you. I would be amenable to changing it so that if the killer hooks someone else it deactivates because you legit can't claim any tunnel at that point. But not being able to use your perk because you used a chased enough to use a map resource? Nah fam.

    Simply not true, though.

    Imagine this scenario:

Killer hooks you, goes to chase a Nea.

    Nea is downed.

While Nea is downed, Meg comes for the save. You get saved. A second later, Nea gets hooked.

The killer comes back to the hook, chases you and downs you. But you don't have your DS! Even though, you know, you were actually tunneled.

  • Monstrous Shrine Buff:

Hex Totems are blocked by the entity for 80/100/120 seconds.

It's corrupt intervention for Hex Totems basically. Get some use out of Ruin and Devour Hope and Huntress Lullaby.

  • This would make DS absolutely useless. Might as well just get rid of the perk at that point. At which point we also have to get rid of NoED.

  • The only Nerf I think DS needs is this: If you unhook someone, DS is deactivated.

    Why?

Simple. If I'm coming back to a hook after hearing the notification someone's been unhooked I have two options: #1. Go for the person who got unhooked or #2. Go for the person who did the unhooking. If the person who did the unhooking JUST got unhooked, then I risk DS no matter who I go after between the two. If you're unhooking someone, there's a 0% chance you're being tunneled.

    That's how moris generally work.

Edit: NM, I think I see that you mean hook everyone once before ANYONE can be moried

Yes. Like BBQ, but instead of getting double Bloodpoints, you are able to kill people by your own hand. Mori's can be fun, but a lot of people use them as tools to win games easily.

  • I still think they should just have to hook each survivor once before being able to Mori. It'd be a simple nerf that would discourage tunneling.

  • Seems to me its more a problem with deranking. You, as a killer, deranked due to a long period away. And at least one of those survivors (The Rank 17) deranked possibly for the same reason. The Rank 16 is probably a baby survivor though. Looking at his perks, he's got no teachables and just three perks. His friends might've just wanted to show him the ropes. Should he have to face a rank 2 killer because his one friend is a high rank? I don't imagine that'd be a pleasant experience for him. A newbie killer getting one rank 2 in a group usually isn't that bad. If the other three are legitimately closer to his rank (and not, as in this case, people who've gone away for a long time) he might face a bigger challenge, but at those ranks killers have a HUGE advantage.)

  • They shouldn't let people opt out of SWF. I mean for one thing SWF doesn't always mean people on comms. I play with my cousin, and neither of us play on comms. I play with a bunch of people I've met in DBD too. We're not on comms either. So our Queue times should be longer because other people ARE on comms? Seems a bit unfair to me.

The killer getting bonus BP based on SWF numbers? Sure, that's pretty fair. But letting them opt out wouldn't be.

  • Disagree. Yeah, it sucks that you missed a skillcheck, but you were about to leave the generator, which should carry SOME tiny risk. Survivors get to be silent enough as it is. Let's not take away the tiniest of risks from survivors in a game where they've already got so much going for them. If you're THAT worried about it, maybe don't stay on generators so long when inside the killer's terror radius?

Don't bullshiet me! You can't get so many DC in a day because of the servers.

How can we be sure that you don't DC on purpose?

Happened to me 3 times in one day. You don't need 8 to get a 6 hour penalty either. But hey, I get it. You don't have any empathy for people facing problems you've never faced yourself.

  • Wouldn't really be that much of a buff. There needs to be a mechanic that makes it so that the first RBT doesn't come off at ONE box searched. It's really annoying when the survivor goes to the first box, takes it off, goes back to working on generators. Also would be nice to have 5 RBT's as base and maybe increase her speed while crouched slightly.

  • His perks could use some buffs, but its worth owning just for Ash [BAD WORD] Williams.

  • On the Asylum I had survivors who got up on these boxes and started healing where I couldn't reach them. But I could hit them. I downed them up there, and then couldn't pick them up because I couldn't land on the boxes. Once I downed all 4 though, they started slithering down.

5 minutes is a warning. "Game forgives you this time, but please, fix your issues and don't dc anymore."

1h+ is a punishment. "Game warned you, but you didn't fix your issues, or leave on purposed too many times."

You get a 6 hour ban for dcing 8 times in a single day. Thats alot. Imagine how many games you ruined for other players?

How am I supposed to fix the servers? I'm genuinely curious.

  • I haven't encountered any farmers yet. Whenever I offer BPS, the killer tunnels or camps.

  • Yeah, it sucks. I've been kicked from several games recently by the server. The penalty is a bit too extreme. I don't think they should get rid of it, but I think it shouldn't go past an hour until you're an extreme repeat offender.

  • Gen speeds aren't the problem. The problem is Map Size, Spawn Points, and most killers simply need a few tweaks. Survivors can feel totally safe at the beginning of the game, where they can go and work on generators until they hear the killer's terror radius. The Killer generally has no idea where they spawn, he can only guess. And sometimes you get it right, and other times you get it horrifically wrong. Those are the real issues facing the game. Gen speeds are mostly fine. As long as those other issues are dealt with.

  • Last game the survivors had 4 gens done, and I hadn't hooked anyone yet. Managed to get my first down, put a Reverse Bear Trap on their head, and hooked them. Then I got a second down, and did the same thing. Got a third down and repeated. Then a fourth. I hooked another survivor a second time. By then everyone had their RBT's off. The third gen was just too far from the other two to guard properly though. But I managed to put one of them out of the game! Then I caught the David finishing the last generator. It literally popped after I hit him. But I kept chasing him. Got him down as the exit gates opened. Hooked him, then left him. I hear Nancy going that way, so I follow her, hit her once, she jumps in a locker, I grab her out of it, and then take her to the corner and hook her as David dies. I catch Jane coming for Nancy, so I chase her, and she leaves through the exit gates but I get a nice 3K after having no hooks before 4 gens got done. All in all a pretty satisfying conclusion, even if I only got Brutal Killer. I wasn't running NoED either for the record.

  • Happened again, and now I have a 6 hour ban. And if it happens tomorrow, I get a 24 hour ban! Hooray. Apparently the developers don't care who they ban from the game. Because they haven't addressed this at all.

  • The penalty shouldn't exceed one hour, at least not until you have several disconnects on record. I made a topic about this already, but I'll say it here too:

Over the past couple of days the server simply kicked me from the game. This led to a six hour penalty, which will lead to a 24 hour penalty if it happens again. This is NOT acceptable by any means. There's absolutely no way I can predict when the server will just kick me from a game, and there's absolutely no preventive measures I can take. To receive a 24 hour penalty for something that's not my fault is outrageous.

  • -I thought NoED was base because my cousin explained it to me that killers could down you with one shot.

-Thought Exposed meant the killer could see your aura.

-Thought there was only one exit gate

-Thought Spirit's Phasing meant she could walk through walls. My first game as her left me very confused.

-Thought you were supposed to try to escape from the hook on your own. The tutorial did NOT help

-When someone told me generators had lights, I thought they meant on the bottom part, not on the top part

-Thought Michael Myers NEVER had a terror radius

  • It's happening on Switch too, which doesn't have that many players. I've had it happen three days in a row now. Last game I was doing REALLY well. Hooked almost everyone twice, had plenty of BP. Even if the survivors escaped, I'd have earned a LOT of BP. (Which is what I'm trying to get, so I can get Meg every skill. She only needs 19 more!) At least it's not an hour penalty for me this time...

  • Usually when survivors seem nice. Like if they boop the snoot. As long as I have my BBQ stacks.

  • As someone who plays more killer than Survivor (Rank 4 Killer vs Rank 8 survivor) Mori's are way more broken than Keys. That's not to say either element is balanced. They're not. You can make a 4v1 game into a 3v1 game the first two minutes into the game, leaving the remaining survivors with a CLEAR disadvantage. Yeah, you can still lose with a Mori if the survivors are that much better. But you can also lose with a key. In fact I have yet to get 1 key escape from that stupid key challenge.

  • Can we also make it so survivors only have one health state, and 5 shared hook states? No? You wouldn't like that. Then why would you suggest slowing killers down without taking into consideration whats fair to THEM?

  • The population is okay. You might run into the same people a few times. I've added quite a few people to my friends list, and I see them in games even randomly. When playing killer, you might face the same people twice in a row. Haven't seen anyone here that I'm aware of. My queue times vary. Sometimes I'll get into a match instantly, other times it might take 5 minutes.

  • Shouldn't be disabled, but I do think they should be a tad more forgiving. Last couple days I've had at least one disconnect from the server that wasn't my internet's fault for once.

  • Wraith: You like camping. You probably own at least three tents. You have a lot of marshmallows and graham crackers in your pantry.

Pig: We just want you to boop the snoot. We're so misunderstood.

  • I have all teachable perks except the ones unavailable to me, so I don't care too much what perks appear in the shrine. I feel like maybe two should be randomized, and two should be chosen by the Devs to showcase.

  • Second Chance Perks are just Survivors versions of Slowdown perks. They're all about buying time.

  • I've had a few people die with a RBT on their head. Often when they try to go out the exit gate, or when they work on Gens instead of trying to get it off. I think I've died once from one.

  • I've got a few:

-A killer dropped me in front of his haunted grounds for the haunted grounds challenge. I figured I'd cleanse it for him, cause I know that one can be hard. He downed me, but instead of hanging me he dropped me a few times and let me wiggle free.

-This Huntress killed me with NoED in the previous game. Come the next game same player is playing survivor and I'm playing Killer. But they're running No Mither. I leave them alone most of the game, and when it came to the end, I carried them to the exit gate so they could get the challenge. They seemed really happy.

-First time facing Leatherface was on Haddonfield. I was still very new to the game, but improving a little. He'd already closed the hatch so he came over, but instead of hooking me he took me to the exit gate, and let me leave. Maybe he figured I was just a baby Nancy. IDK. But he let me go.

-I struggled badly in one game, unable to kill anyone. But this Steve was really nice and dropped his medkit on his way out the exit gate. Seemed kind of like a "Sorry for the Rough Match" kind of thing. Maybe I misinterpreted it.

  • Too bad. You don't always get what you want. If BBQ goes, proxy camping is the only thing killers will be able to do. I'm not going to search random generators in hopes of finding someone.

In killer perk nerf, BBQ gets a massive debuff as well, so don't worry about it.

That makes it even worse. Double BP is a great perk and should mostly remain untouched.

  • sigh just happened to me again. Internet working fine, but the game starts to lag for no good reason and I get disconnected. At least its only an hour penalty right now, but now I have to quit playing the rest of the day all because of the server.

  • I only camp if there's pretty much nothing else to do. If the exit gates are open, and a survivor is on the hook, then what else am I really going to do? Sometimes not even then. Not always worth it.

  • I'd like to see a Test Mode, where you can change perks, add-ons, and more in-game.

  • Feng Min or Ace. I haven't seen enough Ace's to be sure, but Feng Min's escape rate is really low in my experience. Out of 34 Feng Min's, only 12 escaped.
