Cut back some of the fences, and I think it'd be a fine map. I was actually glad to see it my last match, because I was going for the Deadly Imperative Challenge, and the basement is always in the same place. Managed to complete it in one go. Never been so happy to see Haddonfield before.
-
Object of Obsession DOES need a nerf TBH. In a SWF its just way too powerful.
-
Any state hook suicides suck. I mean yesterday went up against a Huntress. She tunneled this guy, so he of course committed suicide on the second hook instead of staying in the game a little longer. We BARELY got all 5 gens done, and my teammate managed to escape -- but I didn't. I think at least two of us get out if he didn't suicide and instead waited it out (the Huntress proxy camped the whole time, meaning it was totally safe to do gens while someone was on the hook)
-
I faced a group yesterday. First time against full rank 1's. I presume they were SWF, but it's possible they weren't (I suspect they were at least 2 SWF though because one of them had OoO and they seemed to always know where I was.) It wasn't pleasant. Almost got all of them after slugging three, but they all got picked up and I made the mistake of going for a hook instead of leaving them slugged. (They also used a Asylum Map Offering... my least favorite map) But it was the only (Possibly) SWF team I faced. I didn't take my anger out on the rest of the survivors I went up against. Even giving the hatch the next game. If I see them again though, I'm bringing EVERYTHING against them.
-
There's more to Dead By Daylight than "Chases", believe it or not. Killer Awareness is a big part of survivor play, and getting gens done isn't tied to how long you can chase, but rather your awareness of what the killer is doing. This is why OoO is so strong. There's more to it than on the killer side too, and if you make tactical errors, survivors are going to get generators done. Sometimes even all 5 of them! Doesn't matter how good you are in a chase if you make mistakes elsewhere. Including choosing to tunnel someone instead of putting pressure on another survivor. Or running into things with a chainsaw. Yes, there are ways to improve your game. And even if you play perfectly, you shouldn't expect to finish games with less than 2 or 3 gens getting done.
-
Give WGLF's bonus BP to Kindred. Now people will be more likely to run it.
-
Hmm. you were running Iri head and they gen rushed you? *pikachu shocked face*
-
Run unbreakable instead of DS.
-
I wouldn't be opposed to a perk that lets survivors break breakable walls maybe. All maps would have to have breakable walls, though. Maybe give survivors some bloodpoints for breaking them too.
-
So basically a "Play Killer" button on most versions. Though I guess this would actually be useful on Switch, where wait times vary greatly for both sides.
-
-If they get saved in front of me when I have Devour Hope and I don't happen to see the person who saved them. I will do my best NOT to tunnel them out of the game. And if it comes down to it, I'll even give them the hatch as an apology. Had this happen yesterday, and the survivor seemed appreciative.
-They're in an SWF and running OoO.
-It's end game, and they just got unhooked and their teammate is healed.
-I recognize their name, and they are someone who made a previous game as unfun as possible.
That's about it really. I do my best not to tunnel otherwise.
-
I didn't realize I hit 'ready', and had my headphones off. The survivors got a really easy win, though I did get a hit on each of them as they made it out the exit gate. They wanted more BP I guess.
-
Could probably use a slight boost to the numbers. 3/4/5% per injured survivor. That means up to 20% instead of 16%. Maybe I just like round numbers.
-
Camping: I hate killers who camp. They take a lot of the fun out of the game. If you're camping with 1 gen left, then I don't have an issue. But when you camp with 5 gens left... just totally unnecessary. When I play killer, I always leave the hook. If 'free unhooks' bother you that much, then run Devour Hope or something. Yeah, sometimes it goes down. But when it stays up, it's amazing. I always hope campers run into Rank 1 Survivor Team 6's and nothing else.
Proxy-Camping: Again, proxy camping is pretty unnecessary. You should be looking for your next chase. Now if a survivor is in the area, then I wouldn't count it as proxy camping. It's only proxy camping if you stay in the area while there are no survivors, no pallets to break, and no generators to kick. It's not AS bad if you go after the person who did the unhooking. But staying in the area with the intention of going after the guy who got unhooked, they're some of the least fun people to play with.
Tunneling: Also really hate killers who Tunnel. Now, survivors do have an extreme range of what they consider tunneling. But personally, if you purposely go after the person who's been unhooked within... 10 seconds of being unhooked when: #1. You weren't already in chase with the survivor who did the unhooking (This is on that survivor, not the killer) or #2. The last gen isn't done. I mean it makes sense to tunnel when 4 gens are done, and you need to get that kill. On the other hand, I don't expect killers to look the other way if I run into them after leaving the hook. But when you go AROUND my teammate to get to me, it's just not fun.
Flashlights: They really don't bother me. Maybe it's because I haven't run into a squad of survivors who just blind me all the time yet. But the clicking isn't nearly as annoying as teabagging. As a survivor, I don't bring them into matches. I almost never use them (though I will click to get a survivor's attention if I find one in a treasure chest, or the killer's if I'm trying to save a teammate and I think I'm in a better position to run from
As a killer, I feel way more in control of the game. If the survivor is being toxic, I can punish it pretty easily unless its at the exit gate. As a survivor, I'm pretty helpless. If a killer tunnels me off the hook, I can't punish him. My team MIGHT be able to, but I play solo and that's relying on strangers who may or may not know what they're doing. But ultimately I have NO control. So that's why Killer Toxicity probably bothers me a bit more than survivor toxicity. Even when it comes to end game, I can always bring a Mori the next time i see the survivors. I don't know when I'm facing the same killer again, so I can't bring stuff to gen rush them with.
-
I'm never really annoyed by clicking flashlights. I take it to mean "Chase me" which either I do or I ignore them because it's strategically a bad move.
-
Kindred is way better than Borrowed Time. Just save when the killer isn't around. If you hear the heartbeat when you get close, assume the killer is proxy camping and work on a generator OR lead the killer away (if they're soft proxy camping, and not hard proxy camping in that they won't leave a certain radius, in which case doing generators is your best bet anyway). If ALL survivors understood this, camping would become obsolete.
-
Mori's should require you to hook each survivor once. Plain and simple. "But that makes it worse!" Good. It should make it worse. Mori's are broken and need to be made less broken. But what if I can't catch the last survivor!? That's not fair! Now you want to talk about fairness? When talking about Mori's? Don't make me laugh.
And yes, keys need changed too. Hatch shouldn't spawn until all gens are done unless there's only two survivors left, and then let it spawn with 4 gens done. This means that three survivors can't escape through the hatch with a key unless they do all the gens.
-
Funny how the same people who are like "THIS IS TOTALLY OKAY! STOP COMPLAINING!" are usually the first to cry about a guy with DS jumping in a locker.
-
If its Candyman, I imagine Helen would be the survivor, or MAYBE Caroline Sullivan.
-

I'll use one just to put the survivors on edge, forcing mistakes. May or may not use the mori, really depends. It's just good to have them assume I will.
Might just be me, but if a killer has a Mori I make way less mistakes. I play a lot more carefully and put a lot more focus into the game. Yesterday a Legion brought a Mori. I ran like I never ran before, got gens done fast, and got out of there.
-
One of three reasons:
#1. Daily / Tome. Sorry in advance, but I likes my bloodpoints.
#2. Deal with Super Toxic Survivors. If I remember your name and think "Oh great, this guy again..." yeah, you get Mori'd! Grats'.
#3. Deal with Super Toxic killers who switched to survivor. If I remember your name and think "Remember what you did to me? Payback's a [BAD WORD]."
-
Both of these are excellent perks. Only 3 survivors in a group need to run it, though. Not four. As long as three people have it, everyone will benefit from it.
I like Spine Chill because I often don't pay much attention to my surroundings as much as I should.
-
My word, people really don't understand what the TC is saying, do they?
His internet went out. He didn't get a penalty until hours later in the middle of a match.
-
I see a lot of ghostfaces run NoED too. These days I see a ghostface, I just do totems anyway.
I'd like to see less Doctor's. That chase music is annoying, and most survivors have NO IDEA how to play against him. Which makes for matches that aren't a lot of fun.
I'd like to see more Freddy's. Or Freddy at all. I play on Switch so having him on there would be cool. But if that doesn't count because I play on Switch, then I'd like to see more Demogorgons I guess. They're pretty rare. Haven't gotten used to facing them yet either.
-
Survivors often play dumb period. Had a Jake without BT in the middle of a chase with leatherface come and unhook me. Did I get 5 feet from the hook before getting downed? No, No I did not. Did Jake get away? Yes. Yes, he did. Two hook states early in the game. I probably should've just went and suicide on the hook. Especially since one of my teammates was just standing around doing NOTHING. I did get into a short chase later after the killer found me on BBQ again after finally being unhooked again. But I got caught, and that one teammate was STILL standing around doing NOTHING. They had like 200 bloodpoints when I exited the game very quickly. All because Jake just HAD to try to rescue me with the killer right behind him.
-
Tunnel all you like, but don't complain when the tactic stops winning you games when you face survivors with DS/BT/etc...
-
Yeah, I don't see why killers are punished for survivors healing. Get rid of it, and maybe raise the total needed for each emblem by like... 5 or 6 I guess.
-
I didn't see anything particularly frustrating except:
- The Lag. Which if it was DDOS then yeah, that's awful. But we can't know for sure. The guy complained a LOT about things that weren't happening. ("I bet they have a key! They must've got one with Plunderers!" (They weren't even running Plunderers). Might've just been regular lag. He never checked their pings.
- The last 10 minutes or so of the match where the survivors just HID.
Nothing else about the game struck me as particularly bad, and the killer ended up with a 3K. Yeah, a dude disconnected. Could've hooked him and ended up with about the same result, but probably a few more bloodpoints. Chat might've been bad, but we can't see what happened there. But throughout the game itself, I didn't see much wrong. The survivors didn't play very well at all. But I don't think they were that toxic. Unless they actually were DDOSing. But we can't know for sure. And I don't think most killers run into that.
To avoid #2, I think they could do one simple thing: If 2 survivors remain, and 5 minutes have passed since a generator has popped, the killer can go into the basement and hit a button to power the exit gates and start the end game timer. After 5 more minutes have passed if the killer hasn't hit the button, then survivors can go into the basement and hit it themselves.

The survivor is the one who's bugged, therefore the survivor is the one who should DC. It's called "sportsmanship". It's not the survivor's fault, but they are holding the game hostage.
So sportsmanship should be punished, then?
-
Asylum = Carnival (How is it an Asylum?)
Lerys = Hospital
Feral Frenzy = Stabby time
-
Usually their killer name. Shortened versions for some, like Doc, Myers and Demo. Only one I give a nickname to is Bing Bong.
-
Nobody got them into the situation. The game put them in that situation. Why should EITHER of them suffer a DC penalty for quitting after that?
-
You disturb a LOT of crows being chased/while chasing.

Again, not an issue if you can properly loop. You can't get camped if you don't get downed in the first place
Gen speeds not an issue if you can properly hunt survivors. You can't get gen rushed if you down everyone in the first place.
-
Insidious isn't particularly great if the survivors have kindred. I'd say play trapper with Iron Grasp, Agitation, Territorial Imperative and Corrupt Intervention. First two to get someone in the basement. Then let traps do the rest of the work.

I would go even further... and make noed basekit with a totemcounter. It fits the EGC, its a thrilling time as survivor (atleast for me, noed/exposed is the only really exciting time) and it would get rid of the perk noed, which i've never liked. Not knowing wether there is noed, wether you waste time doing dull totems and how many totems are left. It just aint worth doing bones. But i like the phase no one escapes death. Iconic (and i actually like going against noeds...)
I used to think this. Then I realized this would have one very bad side effect for killers: It'd make hex perks absolutely worthless. Totems would be a secondary objective, and therefore more likely for Hex Totems to be cleansed early. Especially sneaky ones like Devour Hope (which I'd take over NoED every day of the week.
-
Eh, I think NoED actually makes fewer killers in the long run. People come to rely on things like NoED and Tunneling, that when they face SWF and it doesn't work they view the game as imbalanced and quit. Both rob people of a bit of practice, and make them think they're better than they actually are. They also rank up faster than they should, which ends up with a feeling of hopelessness at higher ranks.
Not to say I think NOED should actually be removed, mind you. I just don't think it's as helpful at what you want it to do as you think.
-
It's always possible they became friends after that game. It's also possible they just randomly got matched together again. I've had a lot of strange coincidences like that. Though I play on Switch, which has a smaller player base. Chances of it probably depends largely on how many people are playing, and at what rank etc...
-
You're assuming that they aren't purposely teasing these things. I mean there's also BEE in there.
-
Deadly Maiden is going to be a pain to complete.
-
Marked the world of horrors since its inception. Its refers to the classic license, not the killer. Otherwise they would've said A new classic KILLER.
-
Hey, Killers who complain about Gen Rush. How are you still getting gen rushed. Surely if you're getting gen rushed every game you should be learning to apply pressure the majority of the time. So whya re you so bad at applying pressure that you still end up losing all five gens?
-
@EvanRaven said:
@Peanits can you guys add bigger penalties for disconnecting? maybe lock them from matchmaking for longer or something? i still get a dc almost every other game.
Ahh yes, let's punish people who get hit by bugs and glitches even worse! What a fantastic idea.
If it's bothering you that much, maybe go play a different game?
-
Trapper - Can't actually pick up his own traps now. Must rely on setting traps in pre-determined locations randomly placed around the map.
Wraith - If survivors look in your direction while you are invisible, you turn visible. You know, to keep in line with Ghostface.
Hillbilly - Now a 110% speed killer. Must refuel chainsaw after use at lockers every time you use it.
Nurse - Only has one blink to charge.
Hag - Survivors don't trigger traps when crouching on them OR walking on them. Only when running!
Doctor - Must reload his shock therapy skill after every 5 shocks. Slowed movement while reloading. Static Blast no longer makes survivors scream and reveal their location. But at least it still raises their madness level!
Huntress - Hatchets have a reduced range of 18 meters
Legion - Feral Frenzy only inflicts a normal hit on survivors. Can't use Feral Frenzy against survivors who are already injured.
Demogorgon - Make him louder. Somehow
Deathslinger - Must reload harpoons at lockers after one shot.
Ghostface - Flashlights can burn him, to keep him in line with Wraith.
Plague - Drinking from the fountain makes survivors immune to the sickness. Also, they can drink from the fountain before getting sick to get immunity, but doing so does NOT provide you with vile purge
Spirit - Spirit gets a stun similar to Nurse after blinking, after coming out of phase.
Clown - Make him a 110% killer. I mean he's got projectiles! PROJECTILES!
Pig - Not necessary. The devs will inevitably do something in the next update, and it will nerf her for us.
Freddy - Can't hurt people who aren't asleep.
Oni - Can't see blood droplets.
Leatherface - Survivors now cause collision as well. To prevent him from hitting more than one.
Myers - Everyone can only be stalked enough for ONE Tier 3 Evil Within.
-
It's THE CULPRIT from Persona 4. I mean PERSONA FOUR, there's a 4 there. Man I'm so smart.
-
I hadn't been hooked all game. Only hit a couple times against a Doctor. My team dwindles down to just me and another survivor. There's just one gen left, so its doable. I get the last gen to 50% before the doc finds me. He chases me for a solid two minutes. Does the last gen get done? No. No, it does not. Doc stays on me the entire time. That's 120 seconds, more than enough to find and complete a generator from scratch. Eventually I go down, get hooked. Killer goes to leave to patrol the last three gens. Does my teammate get to me before I reach second hook state? Nope. They barely reach me before I finish the third hook state. STILL haven't completed that last gen. Immediately off the hook, I make a run for it. I think "Should probably start looking for the hatch or complete the last gen." Unfortunately, Doc finds me over in the barn hiding in a locker (healing from Inner Strength). I jump out though, and get a decent jump, but get hooked a second time and sacrificed. Would it have killed my teammate to either come for me a little sooner, or maybe I don't know... finished the last gen?

But if you prestige right now, your perks will also vanish...
So I don't get your logic here.
I don't prestige. I see no real reason to. Bloody clothes? Meh. Somewhat more rare items? Meh. Having the prestige logo on every character? It'd take me FOREVER to get there. I've got every perk on Meg, so I don't see why I'd prestige and lose all my perks when I could just keep them and never prestige.
-
I'll probably never prestige because of this. I don't care about bloody clothes I'll never wear anyway. I'd rather have all my perks at rank 3.
-
Well, I only have a day. It'd be hard to test most of my ideas out.
But I'd probably start with just two things:
#1. Kindred is now Base. Survivors now have NO excuse for going toward a camping killer like an idiot.
#2. BBQ+Chili is now Base. If survivors get a free aura perk, killers should get one too. Bloodpoint bonus stays, too.
Maybe throw in We're gonna live forever for survivors as well, since it doesn't really give you any other benefit. This would also reduce the grind a bit!
