People keep saying "frame rate doesn't affect survivors" no... it sure as hell does.

Sloppy Butcher by itself is a HUGE problem on Xbox. You get hit, get a massive frame drop for about 1-2 seconds, and find yourself running into a wall. Pretty much a free down the first time you get hit (as it doesn't seem to do this after the notification pops up).

Everything about Doc causes massive frame drops. Skill checks sometimes don't even appear, you just hear the sound effect and fail it automatically because of the frame drops.

    Every notification causes frame drops.

Opening a chest causes frame drops, to the point that if you open one while someone is in stage 2 there is a high probability the frame drops will kill them.

Frame rates are indeed an issues for survivors, and PC killers WILL have an advantage over console survivors due to frame rates.

I play both sides on Xbox and yes, your points are right.

That's why their goal should still be 60fps for BOTH sides before forcing us to go against PC players.

But low fps still affects killers more as they are playing in 1rd person, esp. vs. good zig zag survs.

  • It will be a big disadvantage for high rank console killers just due the fact of much lower FPS. It won't affect survivors as much as they're in 3rd person, they will be able to adept in time. But again, please don't let console killers in the dust. BHVR promised 60fps years ago and we're still far away from that goal on all maps, with all killers and all effects. So till then i would suggest to allow crossplay only between consoles or at least giving the option to dissable it.

Sometimes I like to put on a yellow mori, just to make the survivors sweat abit at the offering screen, lol.

Shroud of Separation works well with Corrupt Intervention. It also scares the ######### out of them when you do it with any P3 killer. ;)

  • This game becomes more and more advantages over skill and i hate it. Whenever i see a secret killer offering in the lobby even nobody picked a key or more then 2 toolboxes i can tell it's an unexperimented killer. On the other side i see survivors (maybe even on comms) with synergysed second chance perks, which is easy mode aswell. BHVR at least really needs to change those shortcuts (keys and moris).

  • It's the player beeing "fair", not the killer he/she picks.

  • Scratch that. They should not be able to quickswitch or even equip a key in the lobby BECAUSE they have the chance to find them during the game in chests anyway.

  • DS is an anti-tunnel AND anti-momentum perk due the 1 minute of immunity.

  • It only needs one Obsession in the game (you can tell by the brackets in the UI) and the killer has to expect EVERYBODY runs DS.

Which makes potential 4 x 1min immunity for the survivors. And i'm not even talking about Unbreakable or DS/BT synergy.

  • When we talk about good Spirits using Stridor, there's at least ALWAYS a 50/50 mindgame before you even get hit first. What you don't want is actually getting hit when she walkes normally. She will most likely have her power up after. This is deadly like the Huntress M2 M1 Combo.

What you want vs. Spirit is getting hit AFTER her power runs out. You get a free Sprint Burst and very much distance. Now she has to follow with 110% speed and you can tell by hearing when she uses her power again.

  • Nah, as you know he plays all killers in rotation. But he enjoys huntress and wraith the most atm.

  • Many high rank killers will just equip a mori if they see a key. Action - reaction.

  • Good perk for bad killers (and survivors to an extent).

Most of the time you can tell by the killers playstyle if he/she needs it or not. Blue eyes can be a hint aswell. If you're not running a totem-build and you play solo, it's not worth the time to try to prevent it. Most likely there will be at least 1 dull totem left. Just play sneaky after all gens are done and don't get hit first.

As killer i don't like the RNG of hex perks anyway. Also it just don't feels rewarding for me. If i "win" i want to win with skill, not because of advantages.

  • More Huntresses without IRIs, less Freddys with POP.

  • As a big SH fan i had to upvote the OP, just as a sign for BHVR that many people would love having Pyri as killer and James as survivor (or Heather - which wouldn't fit the lore, but hey). But i also agree that it's very unlikely. He would be slower then a 110% killer. And what would his power even be?

I'm not eager for crossplay, either. I would disable it, if the option got implemented. The question is how that would affect queue times.

Crossplay has the potential to hurt the console playerbase. I'm afraid it could become a "disappointment" like dedicated servers.

Good console survivors will be shocked at the start when they vs good PC killers, i can tell you that.

But they'll be able to adept, just due the fact they're playing in 3rd person with a controller.

Console killers on the other hand will still be limited from worse console fps, just due the fact they're playing in 1rd person with a controller.

And i'm not even talking about going against PC survs with strechted res and brighten screens. BHVR really need to look into that.

  • Yeah, can't wait to go against PC survivors with much better fps. /s

How can people not see that console killers will be left in the dust? They need to reach their promised goal of 60fps first. In the meantime, they could just allow crossplay between consoles. Or at least give us the option to dissable crossplay with PC.

  • I prefer to go against "toxic" SWFs then 4 solos just rushing gens and hide. At least as huntress it can be more fun when they're super alttruistic and there will be actually gameplay. But if you get SWFs with synergysd second chance perks (DS into BT, DH, Adrenaline, Unbreakable) i agree, this is just a pain in the ass. Better get numbed to that, most likely no killer is able to stop that.

These (toxic) tryhard teams not only destroying the game for killers, but also the next team. If you run into a killer who tunnels, camps and uses a mori even though there wasn't a key in the lobby, chances are high he got bullied a few games before.

  • At least OP didn't called it a "tech"...

Don't see why it is a "strategy" either. Can't be asked to click on everybodys profil first. But if i see a key and/or more then 2 toolboxes i might dogde, it's that simple.

I don't think anybody buys better equipment just for DbD, that's not the point.

Also i joined this debate for the strechted res topic.

This makes the game looking worse, not better or "full extent of the product", like you mentioned.

I mean I guess but should people not be able to utilize the full extent of the products they bought. Having better equipment is always gonna be a slight advantage like having a better headset or a better mouse and keyboard, is that considered cheating?

I don't think anybody buys better equipment just for DbD, that's not the point.

Also your arguement negates strechted res (i joined the debate for this), it makes the game looking worse, not better.

You dont need to but it's really nice to go above 60, 144 frames is ######### addicting and although I dont have a higher then 1080p monitor people pay a lot to get the monitors that can and they should be able to utilize them.

It's still an unfair advantage against people who play the game how it's intended. But that's not your fault, even if you would agree.

People need rules. And as long BHVR doesn't set these rules clearly, people will continue abusing it.

  • All i see are excuses. Nobody needs more then 1080p/60fps, esp. in DbD.

If crossplay will be a thing, they need to make sure editing the gamefiles is forbidden first.

  • Tell me one reason why CONTENT CREATORS are using strechted res in DbD and make the game look like #########. Just one...

I watched a few of them, they aren't even bad. But if you can't see they're doing that for the competitive advantage, i really can't help you.

  • I'm actually taking a break from killer because of this bug... Again.

Meanwhile i have really long que times as a red rank survivor... Again.

Maybe someone can see the context. I'm actually not suprised there's still no real statement about this bug. To less people are talking about it > no high priority. Muted survs on the ground is also still a thing, and it's been since months...

  • Many console killers using Shadow Born only for one reason: It seems to give you better FPS, somehow. And beeing still far away from stable 60fps on all maps, it makes sense. You can def tell a differnce when you used it a while. And yes, you can get addicted to it. My advice would be: just make SB inbuild for all console killers, this would fix the FPS problems for so most part. Won't be happening tho.

That's why i still rate stretched screens as cheating, they don't even need to waste a perk slot for it. Esp. when i think about crossplay. They should allow it first between Xbox - PS4 - Switch. Can't be asked to go against PC survivors and killer, who has much more higher FPS and potential scretched screens.

  • I said this before... IRIs aren't the problem, it's the combination with Infantry Belts (+2) you should fear.

Mostly this combo is used by not very exp huntresses anyway. Ask yourself how often you run into this build.

I personaly have more then 300 IRIs, never really used them.

But if they gonna nerf, i might overthink that. And many other huntresses too. Don't know if you really want that...

    /edit:

Just read @Peanits rework idea. I like that.

  • Played a pig game last night (Xbox) and heard some kinda backround music all time.

I hope you aren't talking about that, should be a bug.

  • @SmarulKusia said:

So, with the new patch, survivors can no longer take the game hostage by struggling on hook (Also denying the last survivor/s from their struggle points).

Another way that survivors have been denied of taking the game hostage is by having a timer on when gates open. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of denying people taking the game hostage, but why has this been so survivor-sided?

Killers can slug, facecamp, camp gates which only delays the game.

Survivors can't even loop/run the killer without the game taking the killer's hand and helping them through bloodlust, whereas a survivor gets none of this. I don't understand why the game rewards ######### playstyle/'strategies' on the killers side, but survivors have anything and everything taken away from them.

What are you talking about? Is this supposed to be click bait?

Nothing in your post has anything to do with "holding the game hostage" (which is bannable anyway).

  • I would like to see DS as an anti-tunnel perk again only. Shouldn't punish the killer if he downs to quick. DS should be deactivated if the killer got another hook. It could be activated again the second time.

  • Inner - Dectives Hunch - Quick & Quit - Iron Will

Run this build now for like a few months solo. Very strong vs. anti-heal builds and one of the best counters vs. Noed.

If Inner would stack, survivos would just horde them tomes. For me that would be to strong so... no.

  • You're not alone @calem , trust me. But there're def less players knowing the game from both sides at high ranks. So you already took the right step for a better overall game understanding. Which is always a good thing if you want to debate balance in DbD.

I personaly came to the point where it doesn't really bothers me anymore if i "lose" or "draw" against a good team. I say to myself, it's just the way unsymmetrical PvP games works. If you play against 3 or 4 good survivors, you can only hope they'll make a mistake. For me there's at least one point of time in every match, were i have the chance of snowballing and try to end it very quick. Doesn't work everytime ofc. But let me just say, you won't have enough time to get them potential 12 hooks...

  • Silence. If i have the feeling of SWFs i just reply with "easy mode".

  • Don't forget the moon offerings. I never saw a difference anyway.

  • BBQ, NC, Corrupt, PoP + Shadow Born and Brutal Strenght. My huntress get's bright eyes right now.

But i would guess many killers just would add Noed, they don't think about builds anyway.

  • I only msg a GG if i really mean it. Mostly after long and/or super-close games.

  • Keys and moris need a rework, they won't just delete them from the game as they're to popular (not like moon offerings back in the day).

Meanwhile just don't bring in a key (or do stupid "ready up/quick switch mindgames") in the first place if you're in high rank. This will most likely put the killer under pressure to react with a mori. You might be suprised how few killers even bring in a mori by themselves if everybody just hit ready without a key or 4 toolboxes. Because used moris actually hurting the killer pip-wise. And unlike survivors with keys, they can't pick up a mori from a chest.

  • My biggest arguement against crossplay is still FPS. But crossplay with Xbox and PS4 would be nice for faster que times.

    I don't actually agree.

This is on the basis that realistically - what chance does a sole survivor have of opening a gate against a killer that can AT LEAST patrol between the gates once before one is opened? (If we're talking about them being across the map). Hatches are like the second counter to NOED but it also puts the pressure on the killer to know the location of hatch - which i think is actually a fair mechanic because not often is a killer under pressure and one shouldn't be entitled necessarily to having the last kill.

So you want me to tell you only bring a when you're solo? I wonder if you're gameplay is affected with the key in mind...

And even then there is no counter for the killer, even IF he has NOED (which is not part of the debate btw). He can't patrol 3 places (2 gates and hatch) at the same time. He will most likely close the hatch and leave it after a little while to look for the exits so you can just jump trough. Again, no counter as he even can't grab you there.

  • It's like you can get a 5th perk for free - Shadow Born for survivors.

  • How about not bring in a key in the first place? I mean, you have the potential to find one in the chests anyway. For the most killers a mori is just the forced answer if they see a key in the lobby. You would be surprised how few moris you see if you just ready up in the lobby without the stupid "quick switch mindgame". At least in high ranks were moris actually hurt the killer enblems.

I don't like both, both means no normal game and are just a shortcut. Either they should get rid of or rework them.

I usually check the area too but it really depends on the map and door location as well as the killer I chose. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dude, i can tell you... If i'm the killer and i see a gate has progress by the lights (even it's just 1 light), the survivor is 100% hanging around there.

  • "My friends agree with me so we must be right."

  • @RareOmen said:

When Im in that situation the perfect (almost) play is to 1 light the door, the killer will typically think you went to the other one, and when they leave it ,finish it. Don't get scared and run, the killer will see your scratch marks and know you're there. Work for me about 5-6/10 times depending on the killer and map.

If i'm the killer i'll def check this area. The safe way would be to just push the switch a bit, but make sure there're NO lights on.

Then hide till the killer comes back and when he turns for the other gate again, you can open your gate.

This will work most of the time, except the gates are very close together.

  • Thx. I tried to start a new discussion in https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/optimization

But there is only the option "NEW REPORT" on the right side which will just create a bug report...

  • I don't like it, but i don't rate it. Killers shouldn't care getting called "tunnel camper" IF they really did. Fun thing is get more "toxic" msgs by playing fair most of the time so, yeah... Some survivors really have an extended definition of camping and tunneling, or are just baiting. But in general i would say: Don't play by them survivor rules as 90% of them give a ######### about your fun anyway.

  • Having 1 IRI isn't the problem. Your problem are 3 IRIs with infantry belts.

And still i see this very, very rare. And i can tell the combo is mostly used by more unexperienced huntresses.

I have like 300 IRIs and even more belts. Never use them because i know how OP they can get when a solid huntress is using them.

Now imagine what will happen if we know they're going to be nerfed soon...

  • Just ask any killer (and yourself) in the higher ranks if he/she would prefer to go against 4 solos or 2, 3, 4 SWFs.

95% the answer would be: Give me the 4 solos. Now why is that? And then tell me there's nothing wrong with SWFs again.

  • Giving us solos even more information won't solve the advantage from survivors on comms. Even if they say "we just mess arround and want to have fun", they play it in a competive way as the 1 or 2 other survivors not having fun (aka doing gens) because they're free to do it, as they're mates tell them they keeping the killer busy. Also can't you see the fact that solos actually are getting hurt from SWFs aswell? Like if they bring in a key and toolboxes, how do you think most killers will react? That's right, they're going to bring a mori aswell. Action - Reaction. Not counting the games when i'm pretty sure we all 4 were solo and killers play super unfair. Think about what happend to them in the last rounds. And that's why SWFs not are just poison for any killer, but us solos aswell. No matter what there intentions are.

  • @Aven_Fallen

Call it action-debuff or give them less second chance perks.

If you not agree with this you're just saying it's ok that SWFs will always have an advantage as aura perks like kindred will never be basekit for solos. Change my mind.
