The better solution would actually be fixing the cause "many killers would dogde SWFs then" and not the reaction.
Till then it just would be nice to have an UI information in the endscreen for more and better informations about the different experience.

To be fair, if there was someone in a Locker, you have two Hooks at this point. I would totally trade checking Lockers next to downed people (if I dont open them by accident anyway, lol) for a potential down without any effort.
@Topic:
Yeah, I have read it from other people already that Head On is OP, but well, it is not. Players are risking to get insta-downed just for a 3 second Stun which does not give that much distance. Saves should also be easy to avoid as Killer, just go a long way around Lockers or dont pick up people in front of Lockers without checking them.
The thing is, it's all about time. Even seconds adds up as killer.
And yes, you can kinda expect it when you have a Jane in game.
Just think about DS, Inner, Quick & Quit + Head on... That's not a build you will enjoy going against.
-
These forums, i swear... Sad thing is you can't even be sure it isn't a bait anymore.
-
This is def what we need right now. Luckily it's just a bait and OP is playing both sides in red ranks.
-
You might Head on my huntress once solo, i'm fine with that - thx for the lols.
But against coordinated SWFs it can be really annoying when they loop you arround locker areas.
Esp. when they going down right in front of lockers and you have to check them before picking up.
-
As a huntress main i'm suprised so many enjoy to verse her. I'm smiling right now. :)
As survivor i like to go vs. Deme (because he feels like a real monster), Billy, Doc and Huntress.
And yes, totally understand Freddy, esp. because of Dreamworld.
-
I would use it if it would work like Urban (works while injured)... But till then - no.
-
Surrender option for killer: facing a wall and go afk
Surrender option for survivors: just go afk, the crows will do rest
There's no need for an intended ez out option. You might loose, but they can't take your BPs!
Also the best wins i had on both sides were actually these super close, turning games.
-
How about going for potential 12 hooks instead of slugging for the 4k?
I mean, i get it... a black pip doesn't make a differnce at R1 anyway.
-
As killer i agree, DS is more anti-momentum in high rank. Which really sucks because you're actually getting punished for quick downs and hooks.
But as a solo survivor it's not really a game if the killer starts slugging with 5 gens left like some billys, nurses and onis do.

3 of those perks are to counter the tunnellers, they don’t need a change, Adrenaline us whatever tbh
There's nothing wrong with each second chance perk. I'm talking about synergys, esp. when it comes to SWFs.
DS + BT aka brain afk hookbombs might be the most popular one.
-
Pretty much this. More then 1 toolbox and/or a key in the lobby and most likely the killer will REACT with a mori.
Also just READY UP in the lobby when your're ready. In my exp most killers won't bring up a mori when they can be 100% sure survivors are not bringing in clutch items. And i'm not talking about medkits/flashlights here. Just had a huntress match last night were they bring in 4 flashlights. And it actually was a fun game for everyone, not just boring genrush and hiding.
-
I think they're on a good way now balance-wise. Please don't stop there.
There're still things what need to change so both sides can have more fun:
- Keys/Moris, NOED and Hatch need a rework
- Huntress IRIs need a rework
- Survivor Second chance Perks need a limit per Survivor (DS, BT, Unbreakable, Adrenaline)
- SWFs need a action-debuff per SWF
- 99% gates need a rework (make it so it decreases like gens do with Ruin)
-
I highly asume there's no perfomance difference from the Special Edition to the Nightmare Edition.
But there's ofc a noticable difference between the old generation consoles (Xbox One, PS4) and the "new" generations (Xbox One X and PS4 Pro) when it comes to FPS. If i remember corectly their goal was and is still 60 FPS for all consoles (they still need to work on that tho), that's why there won't be an "Enhanced Version".
Upvoted. Would be nice to get some offical info about that.
-
In my exp moris are only a potential reaction most of the time when there is at least 1 key or more then 2 toolboxes in the lobby.
That's why i always ready up early without doing the "quickswitch mindgame". You would be suprised how many killers in high rank don't use moris in the first place when the survivors bring nothing in (we dont need it anyway) or at least some flashlights or medkits. Try it out. ;)

Genspeed
-
Solos don't need a buff, but SWFs need a nerf. Like an action debuff for every single SWF in a team.
Right now SWFs has no disadvantage, only advantages - regardless of their skill level.
-
It's obvisious they needed to "soften" the rank system because the lack of red rank killers.

I'm currently at rank 4. I've tried so many different tactics and strategies and metas, but there's always that killer you just can't counter play, no matter what you do. It's like when you're in a Chase and you know you're going to go down eventually cuz you can't keep juking or 360ing or looping forever. They're gonna catch up with you eventually. Specially in solos, or even with a coordinating team.
You're not supposed to loop the killer for 3,4,5 gens. Getting downed is part of the gameplay.
And of course you will have some bad games, that's the nature of DbD. Also every single killer/build HAS counterplay.
But every round is like... we call it "Überraschungsei" in Germany. You never know what you will get, so you can't prepare with a specific build.
-
Or just play Detective's Hunch Memory. I can't be asked learning all the spawns over and over again.
I think they did a really good job so far (since Lerry's rework) to make them more hidden.
-
This is just stupid. Idc what you wear if you're a good teammate.
-
Red rank survivors get more purple rank killers, and purple rank killers get more red rank survivors. The reason for this is obvious if you think about the last balance changes. They annoucend a MMR system on top of that, but it's not implemented afaik.
/Edit MMR :D
-
Either it's a bait or he's stucked at low ranks. I could argue against every single "fact", too much effort tho. The reality is genrush in most of my games on both sides. That's not a new thing, but it happens def more often since Ruined and the other changes.
-
How about giving the Killer equal Hook Points for each Survivor DC?
-
Well, this is nothing new. But more obvious with the Ruin Changes. If everybody is just on Gens (and why should they not), running forward (to get much distance as possible) and drop Pallets early, there is no way ANY Killer can stop this, at least without Slugging. Boring but true.
-
EGC should trigger when the last Gen is done, period.
-
Don't worry, they're just searching for a key.
-
It doesn't really matter if they split up and do gens quick.
-
Pallets are resources to avoid getting hit or downed, use them!
I would call it a "waste" if you used a pallet but still got smacked through or downed.
-
Getting to Red Ranks as Suvivor is so easy like never before.
My build is Kindred - We'll make it - Inner Strenght - Quick & Quit
Don't run Meta Perks, you don't need them. At least it's nice to have just 1 DS in the game, as the Killer must asume all have it.
-
Every Killer can dominate "bad" Survivors, i don't even have to watch the Video for that.
But just the fact Deathslinger can be countered by Survivors if they just don't let him be closer then 18m should says it all.
And yes, i'm a Huntress main. He might be fun to play, but he won't have a chance vs good Survivors.
-
Any Killer vs. super altruistic Survivors not doing Gens. :)
-
Nice bait. It's mostly people who DCd alot before that are now complaining about the penalties.
I got disconnected by the game (crash or whatever) 3 times and never got a penalty.
-
The (Last) Guardian.
-
*A DC SHOULD ENSURE THE KILLER AND ALL LEFT SURVIVORS A BLACK PIP (if they don't DC ASWELL)
-
It's the same with Borrowed Time. Mend first, then go into the Locker.
-
Never took any items nor offerings (and if, just for BPs) into a trial. Don't use any Exaustion or Meta Perks by 90%. And as i'm on console, i might sacrifice myself to a good Nurse or Huntress.
My Huntress or Pig never brings NOED, Blood Warden can be more fun. Mostly i don't bring any addons nor offerings (and if, just for BPs). Mostly the unhooker will get my aggro. Free Hatch or Escapes depends how they played and if i actually want to pip. Can be the weak link, because it's a cute Feng or Dwight - or i do some "extra" chases with a solid Looper for practise and then let them go.
One thing with the "free Hatch" i noticed is: Killers do much more good things for survivors then the other way. In 2-3 years i only remember 5-10 surviors sacrificying "in respect" to my "skills" compared to the >500 free hatches i gave them.
-
Pyramid Head from Silent Hill with 50 Movement Speed.
-
If you want unhook someone in the basement and the Killer is close, make sure you don't move while crouching around it. High Rank Killers with good Headphones might hear the moving grass.
If you're Killer and you know there's at least one Flashlight and no wall to look at while picking up a Survivor you can bait the Flashlight if you just look down and wait 3 Seconds.
-
If i play Survivor, i'm a Survivor-Main. If i play Killer, i'm a Killer-Main.
Still it's really important to play both sides for a better understanding.
-
DS and NOED
DS is more a anti-momentum Perk in High Ranks. Should be deactivated if the Killer already downed or hooked another Survivor. The other problem is: Even if only one Suvivor has it, the Killer have to asume ALL can potential have it.
NOED just needs a rework imo.
-
Ace: Most realistic! Tends to hyperventilate while injured, really intense.
Feng: Most cutest <3
Yui: Seems always suprised when getting a hit. Better lower your volume when hooking her.
-
Stop bringing Keys and Toolboxes then. You don't need them. Thx.
-
Discordance can be very good on Huntress. I call it "The Gen-Sniper Build". ;p

You'd apply pressure the same way you would as any killer. It's not exclusive a select few.
To give an example, say you have one on the hook, you slugged a second that went for the save, and then you left and found a third survivor to chase. That's three people not on generators, and the hooked survivor will die if they don't go for the save. This isn't an extremely uncommon scenario. Even assuming you don't have somebody slugged, you can have one hooked, one in chase, and a third going for the save, leaving only one person on a generator.
Pressure does not mean only chases.
See, this is the point. For me and alot of other Killers old Ruin (if it wasn't cleansed instantly because it just spawned right next to a gen) gave us the TIME to play more fair, going through the potential 12 hooks, which was also more fun for everyone in the trial.
Now we're forced to skip most chases as we just don't have the TIME to go for 12 hooks, at least it's a really potatoe team. On the other hand i know from exp most of the survivors prefer getting slugged then getting tunneld. But i don't think they have fun if they're getting downed after a 5sec. chase because they're outpositioned and then just getting one hooked. Just think about that.
Ofc you can get a 4K most of the time playing like that. But you will also have most likely at least 1-2 DCs in this round, because it's not fun for the survivors. And most likely it will be a draw, at least in the higher ranks. If that's all intended i'm fine as Killer and idc about survivors having fun anymore.
-
Survivor Meta Perks are boring to use. And if you use them all the time, you won't improve your Gameplay because it's just EZ brain-afk Mode with nothing to fear. Same goes for bringing Items in the Trial, you don't need them! Looting chests and cleansing Totems is more rewarding and a good second objective to actually give the Killer more time and more Points for everyone.
-
Happend as Tru3 predicted it: Shortly after the Ruin changes there will be Clickbait-Videos like this. (Tho i'm suprised it isn't called "Better then the old Ruin!"). 1 week later people will realize that Ruin is still a Hex Perk and the combo is useless after Ruin is cleansed early (as it was never intended to be a "Late Game Perk"). Then they will try Corrupt. Till they recognize smart Survivors will just hide for 2 Minutes or till the Killer starts chasing another one. And then... what? You can call it: Slugging, camping and tunneling.
-
God, i love this "hook tech" thingy. You actually can hit them from the side (left or right), but you have to be patient with your hit. Takes also a bit practise. When i see the survivor under the hook changes the side, i'll just camp them both. 2 survivors not on gens... and a 3rd one comming to help most likely. ^^
-
Any Killer is fun vs. chilled Survivors.
-
So, every Killer using Ruin is a Baby Killer? Riiight. >Insert NOED here.<
The point is, in cases it's not getting cleansed ealry (or VERY early) it does more then the Ruin rework will do (like nothing if you don't want to waste 2 Perk Slots). What the old Ruin actually gave me was the TIME i need to play fair, which was also fun for Survivors.
