    I know it's not as strong as it could be, but the reason I don't think it's that bad is because in those instances where survivors vault and gain a bit of distance, it feels REALLY cool to be able to down them if they run in a straight line. Whereas normally you would just break the pallet and they would gain that distance.

    I just played against a team where I got stunned and broke through the pallet but they still went down.

    I get what you are saying @BigBrainMegMain That's why I said that's the part that bothers me the most. The fact that it could be a cool add on, but it's far from feeling like an ultra rare. :)

  • I have pretty good vision and even I feel like I have to squint. lmao

  • Honestly I love BHVR, but just don't support those skins.

    When they notice the difference in sales, I think they'll realize that players just aren't into them.

  • @DawnMad said:

    Well I don't think its as bad as most people think. Billy still keeps all of his mobility, he just exchanges his ability to insta-down to be an m1 killer who can hit through pallets. Since good survivors don't let a Billy use his chainsaw most of the time and since the insta-saw is basically dead, I think this addon can be pretty good. It just changes the play style of Billy without nerfing or buffing him, which is my favourite kind of iridescent addon.

    @DawnMad

    Usually when I think of an iridescent add on, I think of something that makes the killer stronger. Even if they made it to where he can put players into the dying state when not sprinting through a pallet. That is still strong, but it isn't exactly making him OP.

    Like, he is far from that as it is, but one of the coolest aspects about Hillbilly is to be able to chainsaw people. It is very evident that using his chainsaw comes with a big drawback now, so the problem I have with them creating even more add ons where the survivor only gets put into injured state is that it diminishes that cool aspect.

    That's why I think it is a good compromise if they were to only go into injured state, IF you sprint through a pallet, not if you just chainsaw them like normal. I don't think is asking for much.

  • @GreyWolfofNorth said:

    I think the idea is to make it so speed limiter is actually used. 50% bloodpoint bonus for no downside if used with it.

    @GreyWolfofNorth

    And I can totally see that, but tbh I don't think forcing players into only using those two add ons to get the most value out of it is smart or fun.

    My only issue with it is that it doesn't put survivors in dying state when not sprinting through a pallet. I think it would make the add on more versatile, while also making it a bit stronger, worthy of being an ultra rare.

    It's trash. Like all new iris.

    @NursesBootie

    I mean, I wouldn't necessarily call it "trash". I don't think it is as strong as it could be.

    I'm trying to gather feedback here.

    There was literally a guy who came in and posted something like "its a true video, didn't watch" its not just an "opinion" people are literally ignoring the video because of who the person is playing the game.

    On top of that, people have pointed out that yes, mistakes were made, but does 1 mistake deserve to make you lose the game as killer? Especially when survivors can make so many? Nobody has yet to refute that point.

    On top of that. Its not fun to lose 3 generators on the first hook, period. It is not fun for either side if survivors just sit and m1 at a generator for 80 seconds. It's not fun for the killer to be down so far behind in the early game and have to tunnel, and camp, and slug in order to stand a chance at coming back. For the health of this game, they need to fix this.

    @Reinami

    And I wouldn’t be shocked if they responded on many other threads where there was a tru video. Saw this one and thought “oh no another one”.

    Regardless, you also had people who pointed out things in that match that could have potentially made a difference in the beginning.

    By saying “it’s not fun to lose 3 gens in the first chase” without acknowledging that the killer themselves could have done a better job (where it fits) I think that is a problem too.

    Wanna know why? Because there is a huge skill gap in this game. Some players wanna main Spirit but then they switch to Huntress and expect the same results. That’s not how it works.

    You have to be able to see the whole picture not just what is hindering your own progress.

    That’s why whenever I complain about camping being a problem, I am very specific about it. Because I too play killer and understand when camping is necessary and unintentionally done.

    The problem is this community has the opposite affect. Look at everyone here, we present some video evidence that shows maybe there is a problem, and generally a lot of people think there is, and whenever anyone posts evidence, they go "saw a true video, didn't watch" They literally see the popular streamer, and then ignore evidence solely because of who it comes from. A literal logical fallacy:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_the_well

    @Reinami

    I think part of the problem again, is that these videos more or less become “opinions”, when you start to see the way he plays.

    You could virtually put somebody else in that same match with those same survivors and probably gotten a different result. Because yes, while gens popped fast, it is also evidenced that he could have made different choices. In terms of which perks he chose, which way he decided to patrol, who he chased and for how long. All those things matter in a match where you are responsible for applying pressure.

    The only pressure you can apply in the beginning of a match is patrolling gens. You do not have a hook, or a down at that point.

    No one is trying to discredit your argument but when (especially on these forums) it’s nothing but tru video after tru video, I think it leads one to believe if it’s just the fact that he has that many hours and so he is bound so see more of those matches because of it. I don’t know him personally but I don’t watch him. This is just the feeling I get from comments I have seen and the fact that like I said his videos are predominantly shown as “evidence” on here.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1481221#Comment_1481221

    No, because they think that any streamer who plays this game literally as a job is apparently trash at the game.

    @Reinami

    That’s not it at all. See this is the type of attitude that turns me off about some of the people who are fanboys/girls. You can’t expect people to really be like “Oh I agree with everything because said streamer said so”.

    Thousands of hours doesn’t mean they know everything about the game or they are any better than people who have a different opinion and present said opinions.

    Im sitting at over 4K hours with a devotion 16 and I don’t for one second pretend like I know everything. Nor do I expect people to think that of me. I do however, use my own judgement and experiences when expressing my view-points. Even though there are streamers I watch that share different opinions than me.

    I think the whole “this video proves blah blah blah” is what people get tired of.

    I've had games where survivors spawn together and bunch up on a single gen which is closest to me and I've had games where survivors spawn seperately on 3 different gens.

    Efficiency of corrupt isn't based on skill. It's based on luck which means it's unpredictable whether or not it'll help you at all.

    @Zeus

    You’re right. Corrupt isn’t suppose to give you efficiency, it gives you information. 1st ) More often than not, survivors spawn where the blocked gens are. 2nd) I use this one on Michael all the time and it is up to me to be efficient with that information I have. (I.e. where to look etc.)

    I don’t know how you can say Corrupt is based on luck when it does what it’s supposed to. It is up to YOUR tracking abilities to take advantage of the information you are given. So there is still some skill involved. The reason I said it would have helped him is because of how he chose to go about patrolling gens. He practically didn’t even let them hear his TR. That’s not to say you should walk around the entire map before committing to someone, but being that this is early in the game and he chose to double back to where he started sort of tells me he wasn’t being aware of that.

  • @Zeus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1481028#Comment_1481028

    Pyramid head is not as strong as you think he is. Its easy to read him and double back and drop pallet on his head or if you judge his range you will know when you can vault a window and dodge a hit. If you play as him against red ranks you will realise that you cannot just zone them all the time. Holding W is a strong counter to him

    Besides if he let the Dwight escape it's still 2 gens and possibly 3 and 3 people free to work on gens instead of 1 person if he's hooked, and no pressure whatsoever on survivors. I think he took the right choice. Maybe if the Dwight went past a survivor on a gen then it's good but then it's not upto the killer

    @Zeus

    I have played as him against red ranks. That’s why I said what said above.

    And even if you think a killer isn’t strong enough to down someone quick. You should never not bring slow down perks like corrupt if you don’t feel confident with them. He should have swapped Brutal with Corrupt.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1480976#Comment_1480976

    Not nearly enough time. It is simple math. If he had stopped the first survivor and ran to patrol gens as soon as he hit them, by the time he found another survivor, that one would have healed. 2 other survivors would have finished and you would have 2 gens gone, then the one he was chasing wouldn't be on a gen sure, but their gen would have nearly been done. It is likely that the guy who just finished healing would have run to go finish it. It wouldn't have amounted to much.

    The fact that the survivor had a medkit changes everything.

    @Reinami

    It isn’t just simple math tho. It’s also making conscious decisions because if it was just simple math any survivor would finish the gen at it’s expected time without interruptions. Which was the case here, but it isn’t because of it being an inadequate speed, he overcommitted to that first survivor and the other survivors were split working on gens without a care in the world.

    When you say “by the time he found another survivor...” that wouldn’t have taken time. They were on the gens he was originally going to during his initial path.

    Which is what is weird to me. He is literally playing a killer who is brilliant at zoning people out but it looks to me like that Dwight zones HIM out. Sometimes I do that on purpose and killers catch on quick, and they leave (if they’ve been on a chase with me plenty). I just don’t get what is gen adequate speed anymore. Would 4 mins a gen be acceptable? At some point you have to wonder if acceptable means “enough time to correct my mistakes”.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1480867#Comment_1480867

    The survivor he chased had a medkit, if he left them they would have immediately healed and hopped on a gen. It would have taken him easily another 10-15 seconds to find another survivor. All that means is instead of having 3 gens gone, he would have had 2 gens gone and 1 at 90% and instead of having someone on the hook he only would have gotten 1 injured and another freshly healed from their medkit.

    @Reinami

    And as I said, that would have wasted time regardless. Heal or work on a gen injured.

    The turn was very obvious to me, maybe because I don’t do that. I (in my own playstyle) would have suspected the rest of the team would go on a gen because they saw an injured icon at the bottom. Effective teams will hop on a gen immediately. I don’t know about you but I would rather chase someone off a gen who has it over 50% progression over someone who has to heal and then wonder if it is safe enough to start on a gen.

    That’s one of the gambles you take in this game. You can’t protect gens you didn’t even bother to patrol.

  • Seems interesting. I definitely think she needs more variety to her traps.

  • You forgot the part where he overcommitted to the First survivor who also took him BACK the same way he came from, meaning that all the patrolling he started to do he threw it out for that one survivor.

    This is why if I don’t bring corrupt, I will hit someone and let them go. That causes them to have to make a choice whether to heal or work on a gen.

    Clearly someone with as many hours as he has would get a feel for this, because it is something that is expected if you leave a big chunk of map without patrolling properly.

  • You and 99% of the players who use this perk.

    I believe they said it’s latency (where you see them further behind you than they see themselves) Right now is pretty fast, it’s the signal from your pc to your assigned server that isn’t getting there fast enough.

    They are working on something that is suppose to alleviate some of it, but not sure when it’s coming.

  • I think they know, they just don’t care.

  • • Get in a locker the moment the survivor gets picked up, wait 4 seconds get out.

    • Bring Distortion, you can combo it with getting in a locker to save stacks for later if you don't want to use all of them at once.

    • Run one way and wait 4 seconds, turn around and go in a different direction. (Bring perks like Lightweight or Fixated, which synergize with immerse builds anyway)

    • Or if you feel risky get within the 40 meter mark and they won't be able to see you.

    There are many ways to counter it. This is also their way of countering immersion. You have to be able to know when/when not to immerse.

    @Auron471

    I was thinking the same thing.

    I was also thinking this is a problem within this community. Using someone else's experience as evidence to their argument. Like, what if someone else under the same circumstances and made different choices and maybe patrolled gens a little different.

    There is a huge skill gap in this game.

    That's not what a contradiction is. Here's what a contradiction looks like. "Attacking a opinion is silly" then saying "sorry your opinion has been proven wrong". Tunneling IS hitting the survivor right off the hook, and going for them and nothing else, hence the term tunnel vision. If I am going for the unhooker, I no longer have tunnel vision. You can look at DS however you want, it is a fine anti tunnel perk, but anti momentum (what the devs said) is extremely overpowered when there are maps like red forest and Ormond in the game. 60 seconds of immortality is 25% of the game if the survivors play well, and don't forget all 4 survivors can have this combo, meaning 1 minute of immortality for all 4 survivors.

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

    Oh I am not looking at DS however I want, I am looking at it precisely as how the devs intended the perk to work.

    Bringing up scenario after scenario where the perk shines, doesn't change that fact.

    So you think a killer turning their back for a moment only to seconds later come back to track down that same survivor isn't tunneling? Ok.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476906#Comment_1476906

    I don't think you understand why people hate DS so much. You defend it by saying "don't tunnel them off the hook", when nobody complains about it being an anti tunnel perk. It is simply 60 seconds of immortality now. If you think DS is an anti tunnel perk, then it shouldn't activate if you don't tunnel right? This isn't a rarity either. It happens like every second game where I get hit by DS when I didn't even tunnel.

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

    You contradict yourself.

    You say things like “nobody is complaining about the perk countering tunneling” when thats exactly why some killers on these forums complain about it. They think tunneling only counts as tunneling when it is right off the hook.

    You like scenarios right? Let me give you one. As a killer I can hook, and proxy camp and while the survivor is being unhooked I can check on other gens...not go for anyone else and come back to hook, only to try to track down and find that same survivor (who just got unhooked moments ago) who is not only already working on a gen AWAY from the hook... and whose DS (based on many people’s idea) has now become deactivated, simply because they touched a gen.

    You want limitations because it doesn’t benefit you, when you pretend like you don’t have a target on that player’s forehead. Then want to excuse your reasoning by claiming “I’m not tunneling” because you think that’s the only possible way the perk manages to be used when it is in fact countering that initial motivation to tunnel.

    Because in reality (that same exact moment) you tracked down the same survivor who you hooked is the same moment the devs described (and I quote) “if the killer finds the recently unhooked survivor again it will come down to strategy at that point”. Why? Because the survivor no longer has 60 seconds. So now they have to strategize to get you off their behind for a second.

    Just because you and whoever else you wanna bring into a conversation dont like the combo means it’s “wrong”. Especially when you cling on what YOU personally perceive DS to be, which isn’t.

    We aren't discussing deerstalker and infectious are we? DS and unbreakable is extremely stupid. It gives you a full minute of immortality regardless if you tunnel or not. Let's say I'm playing hag. Place a trap at the hook, guy gets unhooked, teleport back and hit the unhooker with make your choice and hook him. The unhooked guy is self caring in the distance and I see him with nurses calling, I hit and down him. Now I have 2 options 1: Pick the guy up and lose all of my pressure on this guy when I didn't even tunnel. 2: Leave him on the ground only for him to pick himself up and lose all of my pressure. That is absolutely stupid, regardless of how many times you can use it. There aren't any killer combos as strong and uncounterable as that.

    @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

    I just said previously the devs themselves have said DS is not an anti tunnel perk. I can link you to where they said this too. That in itself settles that part of the argument.

    How do you lose all your pressure? You have a guy on a hook and a guy (probably about to UB) The other two need to make choices and fast. So that's 2 not on gens (automatically) and possible 1 or 2 trying to come to aid the other two.

    Again, the whole argument you are trying to make revolves around the very thing that DS isn't strictly about: Tunneling. It's not an anti-tunnel perk, it has a variance againt tunneling because of the new condition they applied in this new DS. However, it was NEVER said it was only meant to be for that. Just added a condition to what IMO was unbalanced previously, because you could use it on first down.

    It is really appalling to me how so many red ranks I face everyday don't even see the light of day of this perk. Yet I come on the forums and the same handful of people continue to arbitrate by posting a video of someone else's "opinion". When it was made very clear how the perk operates.

  • @2ndBusiestmusicnerd

    Right.... and my counter point to that was that perks are meant to be able to be combined. Much like there are strong survivor perk combos, there are strong killer combos.

    If the only reason you can provide for why something shouldn't work the way it does is "It's annoying and it bullies the killer" , then to that I say... you have slugging accessibility 24/7.... many killers have strats around that with perk combos (Infectious + Deerstalker) that are just as annoying and no one is complaining about those.

    The video is not necessary considering that person thinks he is above the devs. So I respectfully decline.

  • @Komodo16 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1476582#Comment_1476582

    I mean using DS as an offensive perk to bully the killer or to force them to eat it. DS isnt meant to make you invincible and enduring and spirit fury is annoying but still its not even anything to worry about just quit doing stuns.

    @Komodo16

    It doesn't force you to eat it because there is counterbility to it. You slug. Which last time I checked was already an abusive built-in mechanic killers use. Or no?

    So Spirit Fury + Enduring Combo is annoying but you forgive it becauseeee? Yeah. Sorry but I am not buying that. You are meant to be able to combine perks. Unbreakable counters Slugging which again, isn't a perk. It's a mechanic you have available all the time. You can only pick yourself up once.

  • Define "misuse".

    One could also point out that there are killer perks that are brought as a combo. As an example Spirit Fury + Enduring. Are they being misused too?

    I guess it doesn't matter how many times it is said by anyone or even the devs. DS is NOT an anti-tunnel perk. Add penalties to the amount of Tunneling and Camping that is done in the game, and then I will take a DS rework serious. Thanks

  • Why hasn't camping/tunneling been nerfed?

    Oh. Yeah, because just like DS it doesn't "need it".

  • The adrenaline (no not the perk :P ) Even after so many hours of playing certain instances still give me jump scares and adrenaline when there is a certain level of uncertainty.

    Also this game is like a little treasure.... being that I am a horror fanatic, it brings great joy to know that it has some of the most unique horror characters as well as some of the most iconic characters to walk the screens in video games and television are a part of it. I would have never thought that I would be playing the game as Michael Myers or running from Demogorgon as Nancy Wheeler.

    Now if only I could say that one day while playing Chucky or Tiffany. 😂

  • Sorry that the game doesn't hold your hand and give you the extra time that you need to get your first down.

    2 mins is a long time to be in a chase and now at least have a down, but that's not a gen problem.

  • @isilmerel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1475187#Comment_1475187

    This.

    But...it still happens.

    Was in a solo game the other night where Oni brought ebony mori. Tunnels Ace from the start. Hooks him once and tunnels him for the rest of the game to get that mori. I only did 1 gen. Other two survivors working elsewhere (I never saw them). Kept seeing Ace run the killer into my area, so I kept trying to help him. I must have taken at least 3 hits and multiple body-blocks for Ace (I was running self-care/botany for a challenge), but the killer was never interested in switching targets. Killer DC's when the last gen pops and tells us to all kill ourselves.

    A lot of killers play poorly and blame it on swf genrushing.

    @isilmerel

    Because they want to clump every problem into "SWF" or "Genrush", but never do they want to actually admit that there is such thing as over committing to a survivor during a chase, or that they lack basic knowledge of how to run certain strong loops, or that they don't bother to go kick a gen once in a while or patrol them. They want the gens to simply protect themselves or take extra long so that it will buy time to correct their mistakes.

    Simply put, it is much easier to complain than it is to learn and maybe deal with the match accordingly.

  • Imagine thinking you are forced to chase someone for 3 gens.

    #choices.

  • It is the worst experience.

    For those saying "don't rely on teammates" ... well my response to that what happens when you are the only one being chased and no one is touching a gen? The gens ( as easy as holding M1 is) aren't gonna do themselves. This game is about working as a team not just relying on yourself alone for everything.

    This is why I enjoy killer more, but Survivor with friends.

  • Killer is more fun than survivor for me because I don’t have to rely on others to do my objective.

    Survivor is only fun if you have a decent team which these days solo queue would say otherwise.

  • For as situational as it is, no it doesn’t.

  • @DTJObe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1469873#Comment_1469873

    You do realize that even saying, "The killer is chasing me," let's everyone else on SWF team know that they should be working on gens? Five words can destroy the tension of whether the killer is currently a threat or not and allow the other survivors to push their objective, punishing the killer for working toward theirs. SWF is destructive for the game; this is a minor inconvenience for people who use it to bring SWF back down to SoloQ level.

    @DTJObe

    Or you could just look at the injured icon or physically see them on the map, or even run a killer aura perk like Alert which gives you an exact location of the killer, far better than “killer is on me”.

  • Imagine if being in a SWF group revealed the killer’s aura too because in essence that’s way more OP than actually telling someone a vague idea of where the killer is.

  • For me if I find someone early on, I chase/injure but not overcommit unless I know it’s an unsafe area for them.

    This way you scare them away Far enough that you can set up your traps and now they either have to heal or not and be Insta down.

    That is what I do when I find a survivor. I don’t however spend too much time setting traps... I look for survivors and set traps along the way.

  • I agree ! Lots of times I switch to killer and forget I have a survivor challenge selected. 😋

  • Lol thanks for letting us know ? ??

    My guess by the last comment is someone must have really done you wrong. I never understand the purpose of these type of posts. Like, play the game the way you want... I’m pretty sure you don’t need anyone’s approval last time I checked.

  • Because they can’t get their easy downs after tunneling off hook. Simple as that.

  • I would rather them buff individual killers because for those killers who don’t need this system, you’re essentially gonna have to nerf them which means I am now forced to play with “portals” because my killer has too much mobility.

    I also don’t think the issues that you present are that huge to warrant a full on universal system which honestly sounds weird to me and would make every killer feel bland and less unique.

  • I mean, I can’t even disagree.. lmao

    I think part of the problem is many of them lack forum decorum. Infact many people do... but I get what you’re saying.

  • Love whispers for the ‘hide n seek’ players.

    It counters Blendettes hiding in a bush.

  • This is coming from someone who hates being slugged and camped. Just play how you want to, you don’t have to be sorry for it Or explain why you play the way you do. You do not owe anything to anyone.
