    "Being rank 1 doesn't mean you are good"

    It just means you are better than 96.2% of the playerbase, no biggie.

    This narrative of "rank" doesn't mean skill always makes me laugh, a challenger in LoL is obviously not skilled, a global elite on CS:GO is obviously not skilled, grandmasters in starcraft are definitely not skilled ! Those people just play a lot ! Btw playing a lot means building experience which means... tadaaaa! getting better! Incredible!

    Inb4 "Playing a lot doesn't always mean getting better some people just play a lot and don't learn!" Right, that is true, those people are stuck below rank 10, they aren't somehow competing against SwFs and rank 1 nurses.

    Just because you can't achieve it means you have to tear down the people who do. And if you do, stop this humbling nonsense of "it's not hard" nobody's buying it but yourself.

    @Merryeth

    I mean it might make you laugh but when you realize that there are really bad players that shouldn’t be in red ranks (I.e. the crouching red rank Blendette who never saves on time or self heals in the corner while her team goes down) you tend to not really care about rank as much.

    You can’t make that stuff up and it’s a lot more common than you think.

    He plays all killers, should he not use all killers available to have fun? Obviously he had no idea he was going up against a team like this, I think if he did he would have used different perks. I agree he should have stuck to a chase longer but I also have a feeling if he did, gens would have been done faster. One of the most important things as killer is to secure a first down as quick as possible to apply pressure but that was the problem with that game he played.

    @Zaonhort

    Again. I didn’t say he shouldn’t use all available killers. If he has the audacity to say that only Spirit and Nurse can win against those type of people, he is wrong and he should stick to the killers where his skill level comfort zone is at. Which in his opinion is Spirit and Nurse.

    I don’t play Huntress, because I am bad with her. That doesn’t mean she is bad...She is just not in my skill comfort zone. It’s a pretty simply concept.

    You can’t predict a match because of “feel” , most people who throw a pallet right away aren’t normally good at looping. It’s why they feed pallets in the first place.

  • @Yamaoka said:

    It took him literally 5 minutes to get the first hook.

    That's not a Wraith issue or killer issue in general. That's an "overrated streamer tries hit and run against decent survivors who do gens at all times" issue.

    @Yamaoka

    Bravo!

    Exactly my point.

    Its not hard to run the killer shack. Also id love to see you try against these teams with this kind of a killer and expect to fair any better. And so you admit spirit is balanced around godly swfs? That means shes fine right? I mean team oracle plays in tourneys and said even spirit isnt op or broken.

    @supersonic853

    No. What I said was HE needs to stick to killers who HE clearly does better with.

    I can’t really take anyone serious who misses their first swing after they have spent 2 minutes trying to decide who to commit to a chase to. I mean normally that is the problem ...is finding someone.

    He made the choice to leave that healthy Claudette alone, while not having a guarantee that she was good or bad. You can’t complain about the result when you made the first move.

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1533767#Comment_1533767

    The Claud at the beggining immediately went to the shack so tru3 didnt want to waste like 40 seconds against a looper at a god pallet. If he did the other 3 would have just rushed gens.

    @supersonic853

    Oh somehow he knew she was good? Gotcha.

    Instead he spent his time b*tching about it and they got 5 gens instead.

    He is clearly bad with Wraith and should stick with Spirit, It’s more his skill level.

  • He spends his first two minutes complaining about “these types of people” and I just wanna be like CHASE SOMEONE!

    Seriously, this can’t be said enough. You have commitment issues at the start of the match, and act like you’ve given up? Then don’t complain when gens are poppin.

    Killer is not the problem, it’s the player.

  • While I don’t condone those type of comments.

    You can’t pigeonhole SWF teams in that same nasty behavior category.

    I guarantee you that even if they were randomly queued they would have still been toxic in post chat.

  • There are a lot of issues with collision around objects in the environment. I don’t understand what’s happened or changed lately.

    Just in Backwater Swamp I have found at least 3 rocks that have an invisible bounding box bigger than the actual rock!

    Basement stairs if you try to run up on your right side you will get stuck at some point because it’s being blocked by some invisible box too.

    Is preventing people from being, in your words, "scummy" not a good thing?

    Regarding your other comment, that would mean you've had the perk for at least 9 months, since that's the last time it was in the shrine and there wasn't a paywall. Yes, nine months. Anyone who started playing January of this year would have had to pay real money to get the perk.

    It's a little concerning that you've used the perk for that long and can't seem to understand how it might be an issue.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1532525#Comment_1532525

    This does not add to the conversation and just proves you're wholly biased. If you arguments were reasonable in the first place, they certainly wouldn't be trustworthy now.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1532474#Comment_1532474

    "Pay attention"? You're arguing that the killer should know exactly how long it's been since the third-from-last person they caught was unhooked by another survivor outside of their control, while they're forced to concentrate and outplay the other survivors they're actively chasing. That is just not a reasonable request. Killer is already far more taxing than survivor since you don't have downtime holding M1 on an objective.

    @my_hat_stinks

    Yes, I am arguing that you should pay attention. Much like when you have to pay attention when Freddy is using fake pallets.... Or when you have to keep track of how many pallets a killer has ate when using Spirit Fury. No Ed same thing, you keep track of how many totems because you don't know they have it unless you are good at predicting the difference in speed or see the totem straight away.

  • @my_hat_stinks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1528383#Comment_1528383

    I just played a match against someone with Decisive Strike. After they were unhooked, they completed a generator while I chased down and hooked one of their team mates. I then walked across the map, chased, and downed another of their team mates. They body blocked me so I couldn't pick up the downed survivor, so I knocked them down too. Since they stayed on top of their team mate I had no real choice but to pick them up, after which point they stabbed me in the neck and ran off.

    Again, that is:

    • 3 downs
    • 2 chases
    • 1 hook
    • 1 gen

    And the perk still triggered. Are killers meant to have 4 stopwatches at the ready just to time when each survivor was last unhooked, just in case any of them have this perk?

    The way I see it it's only still in the state that it is because it's behind a paywall. BHVR apparently loves that pay-to-win microtransaction cash.

    @my_hat_stinks

    Ok, so just to throw some math at you.

    If the person was working on a gen with another person (not counting a toolbox) that means it would have taken them 47.06 seconds to complete. DS lasts 60 seconds.

    So 60 s - 47.06 s = 12.94 seconds

    Which means that had you actually remembered you hooked this person, you could have slugged them for 13 seconds and not get stabbed.

    No one is asking you to get a stopwatch, just to pay attention. The problem is because the perk has a "tunnel" purpose tag next to it, people seem to have a problem with it. Literally the perk works exactly as it did before, only they have added conditions to it.

    I guess a hook phase shouldn't be a condition and you should be able to stab at any given time.

  • @komaboma

    Because I disagree with you? Ok buddy.

    Maybe you need to take your own advice, because many others don't see the problem you see. ;)

    ok i will.

    1. flashlights burn hags traps, bt also helps
    2. i said iri heads were bs
    3. noed is a bad perk lmfao, you're literally missing a perk for the entire game in exchange for maybe a kill against a smart team (also do bones n00b)

    all of these things have a counter, unlike most survivor meta perks. actually play the game before replying to me dude

    @komaboma

    Oh yeah, a flashlight is always available 24/7 in every match... NOT.

    Oh yeah, BT actually will protect you from the thousand traps around basement... NOT.

    Maybe stop being so rude, and again playing the victim when things don't go your way. The fact is I don't even care that Hag wants to camp basement, because unlike you I like a challenge. I only brought it up because of how ridiculous it sounds, kind of like all the perks you listed which you can play around.

    Oh and finally. Yeah I should start playing the game. I guess these many hours just aren't enough. But go ahead and pop off. 💅

    Untitled Image

  • There is only one question...

    Why does it need a weakness?

    As others have said, you can still go down if found again. You NO LONGER have 60 seconds (The timer starts once unhooked not once again found).

    It doesn’t have weaknesses but it has limitations in which they have to be grabbed by the killer within those limitations.

    You (killers) don’t have limitations on how many times you can slug, camp and tunnel tho. Maybe let’s start with that and then see if DS actually needs an adjustment.

  • @AgitatedPenguin

    That is average to the current rotation, so yes.

    Kate was released the same year (earlier than Adam) and also has about the same amount.

    If they had came out at launch, and it was the other way around. Claudette and Meg would still be averaging those same numbers.

  • @AgitatedPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1527560#Comment_1527560

    And in the time they had 1 for which Yui's is almost just a recolor of her ninja outfit Meg and Claudette have had 5 or 6.

    Also Adam has been out how long and has had like 3 skins.

    @AgitatedPenguin

    Not counting his common/uncommon he has 5 complete outfits.

  • Because I like a challenge.

  • I don’t understand the notion that people think some survivors are getting more outfits when they have been out longer AND they are free which means that the newer players are going to touch them first.

    They literally just released skins for Adam and Zarina (via the rift) not sure why you think they aren’t getting any.

    This is kind of what Im referring to, I don't think it's quite as bad as you described but I do think survivors have all the power which makes the game not scary and just not fun. Killers don't have strong pressure, if I get chased I can control where the killer goes and i know I'm good enough to make the killer go where I want for a good 2-3mins before they ether give up or hit me once even if it is a nurse or spirit and at that point 1 or 2 gens are done. We have it down to a science and we all get bored after like two games and go play something else pretty quickly now lol

    @Fr3e

    just because you aren’t constantly terrified does not mean the game isn’t fun.

    I have a little over 4K hours and I still get scared sometimes. The atmosphere is still there, the sense of questioning whether you are in a bad position alltogether or will you be able to get grabbed etc.

    I don’t see how learning how to play the game makes survivors exactly “have all the power” when if you do play red ranks (as you claim) you’ll know that the threat level is in the ability of the killer. Yeah you might get a nurse who barely lands a hit but you’ll also get those that will make you question if they have wall hacking abilities. To a point where if they have a slugging build your team will be annihilated within seconds.

    I'm not on this thread to have an argument but the devs also said that auto aim doesn't exist that it is "aim dressing" just like they call it and they also said that if the killer is on hitting range it will always connect yet "aim dressing" still is a thing that sometimes messes people up.

    @OldHunterLight

    So, I am not sure what you are referring to about auto-aim, I have read things here and there about it.

    It doesn't make the fact that they have been pretty transparent when it comes to DS. It was even stated by one of the devs that it is the community who has been defining DS as an anti-tunnel perk. You can't really argue that.

  • Because it’s been said 1000x let’s play a fill in the blank game.

    DS is not strictly an anti __ __ __ __ __ __ perk.

    It’s been confirmed by a dev at least twice now.

    The real pandemic is the way in which this community continues to try to spread the wrong information. Not very surprising tho.

  • I don’t usually use Moris because I find them boring to play with and against.

    On the rare occasion when I do bring it is if the killer I play is new, and I wanna see their mori animation and even then I only use it on death hook. Sometimes it comes in handy for when EGC is active and someone got downed at an exit, to avoid their DS.

    having 4 second chance perks at once is unfair even for the killer who "doesnt go easy"

    @komaboma

    I mean I go against SWF with all 4 using 2nd chance perks all the time and I disagree with that, but ok.

  • No Ed would be fine if the killer actually did something to earn it, and not actually be tied to a survivor objective.

    It would be like if the killer gets everyone to 2nd phase all gens pop now all you have to worry about is opening the gates.

    I personally don’t have a problem with how to get rid of it, I do with how it’s procc’d.

    Its a really dumb concept.

  • Or you know just close the chat box.

    Fun fact: If you close the chat box for one match, you never have to re-close it again. It stays closed.

  • Yes please... I am hoping this was an unintentional bug. :|

  • Very cool and creative. I loved the pace in the dialogue and my baby Dweet was perfectly cast! 😍

  • This is not the final iteration of the MMR system, so why are we so quick to judge as if it couldn't be changed?

    My only guess is that you guys must have not ever had to use the trial and error method where you try something and then have to make adjustments when it isn't working as intented.

    @Veen hit the nail on the head, those two pictures represent this community in a nutshell.

  • Trying to find balance in a game where it is heavily RNG based is ludicrous at this point.

    You could go into a match without any “second chance” perks and just because you do that doesn’t mean the killer will go easy on you. People who think that clearly don’t play the game.

  • No one is complaining about this because it doesn’t happen as often as you might think.

    Is it something that I think they could change? Sure. Are there other things that far worse things they should work on first? Definitely.

  • Michael is one of the most balanced killers in this game.

    He is actually in a good place right now. If it’s taking you that long to stalk then that is nothing to do with the killer, it has to do with your inability to stalk properly.

    I’m so tired of seeing people want to clump every problem they have into gen speeds. It’s like “oops I made a mistake, 2 gens gone”... comes on the forums “please fix gens”.

    Michael is literally someone survivors love playing against too. Let’s not make him annoying to go against like they have other killers.

    Being super focused and getting those awkward, long-ranged pallet stuns while playing Hag gets me sometimes. It's very annoying. A lunge-centric killer like The Pig never gives me this issue, though.

    @Eninya

    This is why I probably couldn’t play Hag tbh. Lol

    I feel like it requires so much focus and you have to be ready to swing xD. My reaction time just wouldn’t be there at the shock of being scared by my own jump scares 😱

  • Create your own pressure.

    Usually if you are playing normal.. meaning, Down-Hook-move on to the next survivor (rinse/repeat) you will most likely NOT deal with DS. I don’t care what anyone says, if you didn’t go back to the hook you will not even see this perk see the light of day.

    Now, if you are facing super altruistic players who often unhook as you turn your back. Then by all means take advantage of that free pressure. You Slug the recently unhooked and hook the person who farmed. At some point you’ll have to go and patrol gens and NOT give your full attention to only those players.

    I know it is easier said that done but if you handle the pressure in a smart manner where you are aware of the time it is taking and who can go on a hook you are bound to at the very least get rid of some of those perks. Definitely DS.

    Bring perks that track other teammates when they aren’t in that whole slug fest when/if you do it. Surveillance comes to mind, also Thrilling Tremors is a good one so when you pick up or go to check on gens you can kick it and know if they got back on it.

    I really like that idea, that would be super fun but also I could only 1 or 2 on a map or else it would be too much. I agree that looping should not go away but I do agree that certain loops are boring and should be removed and replaced maybe? Props on the idea though really creative!

    @GoodLookinCookin

    Thank you! Tbh when I thought of the idea, ultimately I only saw it working on the bigger structure loops/tiles.

    I think there is something to be said that after a while looping does feel like you are running in circles, so in an effort to enhance the “looping experience” , having something like some kind of wall-crumbling mechanic to add to that intense-adrenaline-jump scare factor would be very cool.

    @AVoiceOfReason

    Thank you 😊

  • If you are sick cleansing does heal you as well. It’s been that way since day one. 😀

  • It’s the funnest part about the game for me.

    The mind-games, the RNG, the uncertainty and outcomes. Those are things you remember... you don’t remember holding M1.

    With that being said, I do wish some loops were more interesting. Have structures where parts of the wall are falling, or objects you can interact with during a chase, like grabbing a random axe on the wall to break through a wall and create another “way” to that room etc

    I made a post a while back (before breakable walls) where windows could potentially become doorways (my idea was a possible solution to god windows) as a way to interact with the killer AND the environment, through different vaulting phases:

    5F81BA56-C50E-4C3E-867C-CEE15B527C0B.png

    Basically the more you vaulted it, the more it would crumble down until it because just an open doorway.

  • I think he/she means you can now see the icon change as if the survivors escaped the trial. That is new to my knowledge.

    Tbf, I got a match exactly like that and the killer didn’t play like a noob and had 1500 hours in the game.

    Not everyone at that rank is “new”. It could also be that it is a smurf account.

  • Just had a match as her.

    Yes she is. I am clearly aiming at a survivor, but my puke kept going over their head. Very frustrating to say the least.

    Yes, like you aim a certain way, but the puke stream is higher than where you aim. I don't know if there was a visual change or if it's just buggy, but something seems off.

  • This is why I laugh when I read things about No DS means the killer will be "nicer". 😂

    The problem isn't with tunneling itself, the problem is that survivors have almost no options without perks like DS. Which in turn, turns the perk meta, because every single killer wants that easy down.

    No killer should be limited to how they want to play, but also no survivor should be limited to options either.

1 … 71 72 73 74 75 … 116
