  • just wait another 6 years im pretty sure they will include a searchbar for survivors and killers 🤪

No for real, a feature like that wouldnt hurt anyone, searchbar might actually be better for this.

I dont understand these poll options, but I just wanted to say I just like doing moris because theyre cool, I wish I could mori all the time if I could. It's as satisfying as a mortal kombat finisher. My personal favorites are naughty bear (trapper), pyramid head, pinhead, and ghostface.

agreed, i'd have a mori offering every round if they were not so rare. The devs want to make it so last survivor can be mori'd at all times even when you dont use a offering but in the same breath they take away our offerings as a whole by changing them into BP's. Because "survivors felt disadvantaged by them" and i am trying to see if that is really what the community thinks or if its all just made up and the reason behind the mori change is something else.

  • @Gmoore23 said:

I just think they're neat. Could they mean it's a sweaty killer? Maybe. But they could also just mean that the killer's just trying to see the thing happen.

in my case both is true XD In fact moris give a slight disadvantage because some animations take longer than to get to a hook nearby, only a fiew seconds though.

  • @tyantlmumagjiaonuha said:

It has gotten worse every year since 2018 when I started playing the game and my friends and many streamers agree. It's especially bad on the indoor maps, with ground floor survivors' scratches floating to the second floor or splattering on the ceiling instead of the floor.

can also confirm this, though i do not play since 2018, but even back in 2021 it wasnt so confusing following scratch marks.

They should make a challengeless gamemode then, encourage people to actually play the game the way it was intended instead of going down in 10 seconds, or doing useless stuff. Thats why i feel we need it as an option, to put them back in line.

uhm… who are you to tell strangers how they are supposed to play? You think these challenges are just for embellishment?

  • you wont fix SoloQ with VC.

This is a very common misjudgement, the main reason why SWF is so broken against killer is voice chat, but the main reason why SoloQ can feel so helpless is not because of missing voice chat. You have very diffrent people with diffrent targets for each match.

Some want to only chase and never do gens, some want to play stealthy, some play for hatch, some play for challenges. You wont ever find common ground and thats why many soloQ lobbys fail, because SWF coordinate each other not only through vc but through their main target.

Also i can live without random people screaming at me because x willy nilly reasons just fine.

Gen speeds I'd guess. If people want longer games, that means you need to make gens take longer, which most people don't want.

I dont mind gens, but i know the majority of players find them boring. Which is a design flaw, they would needed to be way more interactive than just holding M1. and that would basicly mean core gameplay rework.

Hmm … putting biggest of the rewards and glory into the most wanted playstyles may get even tryhards to be nicer .. interesting idea. Toxicity though must be culled , it can reach extremes at times.

Im afraid though this wouldnt be enough to do BP incentives. The game would need to be focusing hooks over sacrifices. But it would be a start, me for examply my main target is bloodpoints, so i would alredy be fine with BP multiplier with increased hooks. Thats why i think nerfing pain res. and grim embrace is a bad move btw, but again, diffrent topic.

Toxicity cant be culled, you'd have to remove the chat bar wich is alredy highly censored, then it would just overlap onto twitter or steam discussions (which it kinda alredy does.)

  • @HerInfernalMajesty said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/414709/the-game-seriously-needs-to-be-hook-focused

Sounds like it could be fun, especially if matches last longer. So much would have to change to balance around 12 hooks. Changes that I don’t think many people would like.

    what kind of changes?

  • I mean this feels like an fast gens AND easy sabos scenario. Its not either or, thats the issiue.

  • @SleepyH said:

What about instead of punishing bad behaviour we reward good behaviour. There already is a way to report someone for being a good player so why not add some rewards and insentives to make people want to be less toxic. For example if you report someone for being good you get a few thousand bloodpoints, (not too much so people wont always just spam it). And if you recieve enough of these good reports you get some shards.

This could atleast make people not want to make toxic comments or do bad stuff so people report them for being good.

THIS! A little out of context but i wish this approach would be taken for everything in the game (e.g. tunneling, facecamping, 3-genning) instead of hard punishing those playstyles, encourage going for 9 or even 12 hooks. BP multiplier or something like that, "i wanna win" - Mentality will never go away, no amount of punishement will change this. Same goes for toxicity.

yeah idk. i am someone who doesn't even like getting mori'ed myself (a lot of them are just super gruesome and some people just play around just wanting to mori you and it's a little sleeper), and often times i eyeroll or lightly complain when going against mori killers, but even i'm extremely against changing mori's into bp offerings and only keeping yellow mori basekit. it makes people see mori's more often for the sole reason that they… died… last? feels very backwards. i prefer the current system WAY more.

*edit, i called myself someTHING instead of someONE 😅

true i guess in the survivors PoV it will even increase the mori sequences. And in the killers PoV it will decrease unless a killer constantly can pull of 4k's maybe a nurse main with 12'000 hours.

So in Short; both sides will suffer from this change.

You say this as if Survivor #3 won't just be slugged lmao. It literally is on the killer to end games because they are responsible for....killing. shocker

yeah but the killer just wants their 4k? why should they handicap themselves if they can aswell avoid hatch races and play it safe?

Complaining about drawn out matches when you are the last survivor while you hide somewhere in a corner is kinda backwards, same goes for only blaming the killer if you are the one slugged, then you should blame your teammate equally. Both are too stubborn to finish the game, not JUST the killer.

  • Yup i got them back a while ago, was surprised how fast they got back actually Thanks alot @BHVR

  • @Gibberish said:

The only point in time in which you could argue that Moris were unfair was back when they didn't require Survivors to be hooked, so you could just instakill somebody on their first down. But now that they require two hooks, Moris are basically a non-issue.

Really though he finisher mori mechanic should have been in the game since like year 0, I can't believe it took 8 years to add. It's really dumb that the Killer needed to spend a special offering to actually kill the Survivors themself instead of getting the Entity to do it for them. Moris being just a cosmetic flashy way to end the match is exactly what they should have been all along.

the thing is i dont want to be required to sweat for the 4k just so i can have a nice alternate cutscene to the usual hook sacrifice.

Thats not really what the law says is it? ^^ Even in countries that value your honor that much and protect you from being insulted you don't get protection from any so small insult or demeaning thing and in particular you are not allowed to take matters into your own hands. That is indeed very childish and not the adaquate way to do things.

The consequence in both cases is that you stand above such petty things and show that you don't get influenced by such juvenile insults, or in case of real severity you contact the authorities, but you don't just beat up people because you didn't like what they said.

You are not telling me anything new. But police where i live doesnt give a single bit about such "juvenile" things. I had some issiues with a bunch of teens stealing my packages, told police to take care of it 3 times nothing happened. One day i caught one of em. I still have the tooth as trophy. Never had any nonesense stress because of them again.

  • @DetectiveDuckMain said:

I don't think the finisher mori system will be released this update. The reason for the change is because they don't want situations where the game is stalled out due to bleed out timers for any reason. I think they just want to see everyone's reactions and decide to change their mind.. so far i dont think we are keeping it.

What was so "wrong" about moris that they had to change the whole system? Everything was FINE.

Waaaaay back moris used to be instant. Many complaints about them, other than money and corporate greed, i can only imagine they still see moris in that way.

But i havent seen any complaints about moris here nor on steam discussion boards so. Its something the devs want to push without their playerbase being ok for it. In fact, games will be stalled even more if we consider now you have to slugg for the 4k if you want to see moris (in that finisher system)

  • Why is it the killers agency to end the match in this scenario? The last survivor could clearly not care about hatch and run up to the killer and just show themselves if a person is being slugged. That way the game ends quicker, games drawn out for long is the main concern as i see.

But if you still want to escape thats your good right, just like its the killers good right to want that 4k for their tome challenge.

Making any of the moris basekit is a bad idea. Its going to negatively influence how survivors play because no one is going to want to be the last survivor. There will be matches where survivors will throw themselves at the killer the moment another survivor gets eliminated just so they don't have to deal with it. Besides that, its kind of a slap in the face to the last survivor because you're basically being punished for surviving this long.

It doesnt even only hurt the killer side (which is bad enough, taking away our mori offerings basicly) but i just realized it will impact the survivors just as badly with such a finisher system.

And thats what we told BHVR the first time, yet they still cling to this whole thing.

Can't really make a full opinion on the mori offerings giving BP until they show how much get's awarded for it. It would have to be pretty substantial to warrant it over using any other BP offering.

However i always thought the idea if they did go with the Finisher Mori, is to make the mori offerinig's give the killer a differnt mori animation, that way there's 4 mori's for each killer basekit. However that's alot of extra moris and doesnt make much sense why they would be offerings but it would sort of be better than having to pay for a full linked cosmetic just to change the mori and removes the gamble aspect from the offerings that they are going with.

Cosmetics… yeah i can imagine the main reason behind this is money….

  • @ObsidianButterfly said:

Hold on to your backsides, folks. I'm about to give a hot take for my first forum post:

Make the Ebony mori baseline for all killers, but with a change; every survivor that gets Moried reduces the killer's final BP and emblem progress for that match by 25%. So if you mori all 4, you get no BP and no emblem progress, but your MMR still goes up.

Make the Mori another tool in the killer's toolbox to utilize, but at a cost because of how strong it can be. It should be an option for dealing with problematic survivors and annoying perks, but at the same time promotes hooking survivors and disincentivizes slugging and tunneling just to get it.

Note that this does not include killers like Myers, Sadako and Spirit who have built-in mori mechanics. Those function as normal.

why punish players for mori? next thing we gonna punish them for hooks?

People dont tunnel because of the moris, with the moris gone the only thing changing will be so people slugg for the 4k much more often.

Well the age old question freedom or safety... I still prefer freedom in that case, it is still only words. Not like random stuff some ill mannered stranger says should bother me anyway. And on the other side it somewhat prevents people from engaging in banter and what not... I d rather have it the same way it used to be since the 2010s, I couldn't care less what some punk says in voice or text chat but I really don't like getting treated like a child or being censored from engaging in a playfully way I deem appropriate.

What you "deem approproate" doesnt matter zero. Some weirdo behind a keyboard always talks tough, i learned that you only get to do that if you can do it face to face and be ready for the consequences that brings.

I think we should wait to see how survivor classes tackle this problem, by no means would I want killer groups locked, just would hate to have insane queues.

Also plague and legion would be effective with OTHER killers that benefact from survivors remaining injured, not with each other since they have the same counterplay.

well locking them out forever should not be considered, my friend for example is a legion main. He'll still play but not seeing legion is alredy a bumper.

I mean if a really obnoxious strategy forms it could drive those casual players away. Think of plague and twins for example. Imagine a casual player searching guides on how to deal with those killers and the find out their counterplay is the oposite of each other, we would have another lights out scenario, 5 min queues for a side and 10 second queues for the other.

well if lights out has shown anything then that majority of people got used too much on windows of opportunity. And if the devs say they want to make a casual mode then they have to go 100% with it, this means no nerfs or buffs for comp matters.

If we need balance in this alternate gamemode, then sure have some killer "groups" and lock some out that would be way too bad for each other. Like have legion and plague be in two diffrent groups. But completely locking out single killers is the wrong approach. It should be that every killer joins 2v8 time after time.

  • If we can take the devs for their word then their main concern with this mode is not competetiveness, it should be a Party "fun mode".

So i dont see why any killer would be locked out, if they decide to get all of em in.

I guarantee the Finisher Mori was presented because it's going to be the only way for buyable Moris to be do-able in DBD.

    Please devs, don't do this.

forcing excitement is spot on. They said they have gotten "great feedback" from the first time they tried to do finisher mori system, making it sound oh so positive.

why are you making a whole post about them yung blud. Clearly moris are a problem to you if you decide to make a whole damn post. The Significance of Moris in Dead by Daylight: Elevating Gameplay through High-Stakes Decisions

In the intense and strategic world of Dead by Daylight, the presence of moris adds a layer of complexity and high stakes that significantly impact gameplay. The mere possibility of being mori'd by the killer creates a sense of urgency and tension for survivors, forcing them to be more cautious and strategic in their actions. This heightened risk factor keeps players on edge throughout the match, making every decision feel critical and impactful. Furthermore, moris serve as a powerful tool for killers to strategically target specific survivors, shifting the balance of power in the game and forcing survivors to adapt their gameplay. In this essay, we will explore why moris are crucial in Dead by Daylight, how they impact survivor strategies and decision-making, and ultimately enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Moris in Dead by Daylight inject a palpable sense of urgency and intensity into the gameplay, keeping survivors constantly on edge. The mere possibility of being mori'd by the killer looms over every move, adding a layer of tension and fear that heightens the overall experience. This fear pushes survivors to tread carefully, strategizing their actions with precision to avoid falling victim to the mori. For example, survivors may choose to avoid risky rescue attempts or opt for stealthier approaches to objectives to minimize the risk of being caught and mori'd. The high stakes of potentially facing a mori keep players on their toes throughout the match, making every decision feel critical and impactful. Whether it's choosing to hide instead of running or deciding when to make a bold move, the looming threat of a mori forces survivors to think strategically and adapt their gameplay to survive. In this way, the presence of moris in Dead by Daylight serves as a crucial element that not only adds intensity to the game but also shapes survivors' strategies and decision-making, ultimately enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Building on the tension and strategic gameplay introduced by the possibility of being mori'd, moris serve as a potent tool for killers to strategically pinpoint specific survivors. These offerings incentivize killers to focus on key targets, such as loopers or strong survivors who are proving challenging to catch. For example, a killer may opt to mori a skilled looper who consistently buys time for their teammates during chases, disrupting the killer's momentum. This strategic choice can shift the balance of power in the game, compelling survivors to adapt their gameplay and collaborate more effectively. Killers strategically selecting who to mori can disrupt survivor strategies, forcing them to rethink their approach and potentially altering their usual tactics. The fear of being singled out for a mori adds an additional layer of complexity to survivor gameplay, necessitating heightened caution and awareness of their surroundings. This high-stakes threat intensifies the gameplay experience, requiring survivors to think on their feet and adjust their strategies to counter the looming danger of being mori'd.

Transitioning from the impact of moris on killers, the presence of moris in Dead by Daylight also significantly influences survivors' gameplay strategies. Survivors find themselves in a constant state of evaluation, carefully weighing the risks and rewards of their actions to avoid falling prey to the killer's mori. For instance, deciding when to perform altruistic acts like rescuing teammates or completing objectives becomes a strategic dilemma, as these actions could potentially provoke the killer to unleash their mori power. The fear of being mori'd adds a palpable layer of tension and suspense to the game, keeping survivors on edge as they navigate the trials. This heightened level of strategic thinking and decision-making not only keeps players engaged but also enhances the overall gameplay experience, pushing survivors to be more mindful and deliberate in their movements and interactions with the killer. Moreover, the presence of moris fosters a sense of teamwork among survivors, as they must communicate effectively and coordinate their efforts to evade the killer's deadly grasp. By compelling survivors to think strategically about their interactions with the killer and fostering a more immersive and thought-provoking gameplay experience, the presence of moris in Dead by Daylight ultimately enriches the overall gameplay experience for all players.

Transitioning from the strategic thinking induced by moris, the element of surprise and unpredictability they bring to Dead by Daylight matches is equally significant. The potential for a killer to mori a survivor at any moment adds a palpable sense of tension and excitement to the game. Imagine being a survivor, working diligently to repair generators and evade the killer, when suddenly, without warning, a mori is activated, and your character is brutally eliminated. This unpredictability keeps all players engaged and alert, as they never know when a mori might occur. The mere possibility of a mori lurking in the shadows forces survivors to constantly be on high alert, adding an extra layer of thrill to the gameplay. Furthermore, the sudden shift in gameplay dynamics when a mori is used can completely alter the outcome of a match. A survivor who was once leading the chase could find themselves at the mercy of the killer's mori, turning the tables in an instant. This element of surprise not only keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging but also encourages players to stay vigilant and adaptable in order to outsmart their opponents. Players must constantly adapt and be prepared for unexpected moris, enhancing the overall challenge and thrill of the game. The fear of being mori'd at any moment keeps players on edge, creating thrilling and unexpected moments that can shift the course of a match in an instant. By introducing an element of surprise and unpredictability, moris in Dead by Daylight not only keep players engaged and on their toes but also contribute to the overall immersive and thrilling gameplay experience, aligning with the game's core objective of strategic decision-making and adaptability.

The presence of moris in Dead by Daylight significantly enriches the gameplay experience by injecting a sense of excitement and unpredictability into matches. These powerful offerings force survivors to constantly adapt their strategies and playstyles, as the looming threat of being mori'd at any moment demands quick decision-making and vigilance. For example, survivors may need to alter their usual tactics, such as being more cautious when approaching generators or being extra mindful of their surroundings to avoid falling victim to a mori. The high stakes introduced by moris also serve to elevate the competitive nature of the game, compelling players to refine their skills and evolve their tactics to outsmart their opponents. This added layer of complexity pushes players to think strategically and stay on their toes, ultimately enhancing the overall depth of the gameplay experience. Furthermore, the visually impactful mori animations add a dramatic element to each match, heightening the intensity and creating memorable moments for both survivors and killers alike. These animations not only serve as a visual spectacle but also contribute to the immersive nature of the game, drawing players further into the high-stakes world of Dead by Daylight. Ultimately, the presence of moris creates a dynamic and engaging gameplay experience that keeps players invested in the game, as they navigate the added risk of being mori'd while killers strategize on when to unleash this powerful tool. In essence, moris play a crucial role in shaping the competitive landscape of Dead by Daylight and ensuring that each match is filled with tension, strategy, and excitement.

In conclusion, the presence of moris in Dead by Daylight is crucial as they serve to introduce a high-stakes element to the game, impacting survivors' strategies and decision-making, ultimately enhancing the overall gameplay experience. The tension, intensity, and strategic depth that moris bring to the game elevate the competitive nature of Dead by Daylight, keeping players engaged and challenged. Beyond the realm of this specific game, the concept of high-stakes elements in gaming serves to create immersive and dynamic experiences that push players to think critically and adapt quickly. It is through these challenges and uncertainties that players are able to grow, learn, and ultimately find enjoyment in the ever-evolving landscape of gaming. In essence, moris in Dead by Daylight not only add excitement and unpredictability to the gameplay but also contribute to the broader appeal of competitive gaming as a whole.

Moris offerings are flavour and aesthetic, to majority of people. I will even do a poll if i need to proove you wrong. Getting rid of them is unneccessary. Thats why im making a thread, i dont want them gone.

most killers use moris to be toxic to swfs and doing moris is to earn something called "bloodpoints"

There is nothing PERSONAL about moris omfg. They just look nice >.<

its a weird change + the moris r nice bc like. although u save a hook by killing a survivor u also have to sit thru that animation. i think it works out well n i say this as a survivor main

i dont like that theyre makin yellow mori basekit. killers should at least have an offering that lets them do the 2 hook one or something instead of doing away with that

exactly, its a shame we get ripped off our offerings just because some individuals feel insulted by a mori.

search up people complaining about moris -

I dont even want to, its so unbelievably unneccessary. I almost never see a killer with a mori and when they have one its just an alternate animation to getting sacrificed on the hook. These complaints have 0 basis. Its not even an advantage to have a mori. And again its totally rare

its jst because of dbd's community. they are the reason for literally everything. survivor mains should just shut up for once and not mess up the mechnics of the game. not to mention, this is coming from a survivor main :)

litteraly noone since im playing this game has ever said anything bad about moris, not on here not in steam discussion boards. I know they have been kinda OP in the past, but that is a thing from 2016 or something. Its even more mind boggling for me why they change stuff that noone asked for.

If so, that's good. But I still want the red and green offerings to stay. And I also hope they didn't touch Devour or Rancor like they tried last time.

what did they do to devour and rancor?

  • I think its just yellow mori basekit, so the last survivor alive is just mori'able as if you had the yellow in current live version. No cutscene no mechanic. At least thats an increase but i have no idea why they want to change the other offerings.

As this is acknowledged and happened to me today as well - so I roughly lost 2M BPs.

Is there any compensation planned for this or can this be "corrected" somehow - so that everyone gets their BPs they should get?

they have to, otherwise there will be big trouble.
