They are not YET cosmetics, they will be cosmetics in the future as BVHR has annouced different Mori's animations compared to the 'standard' ones (you will be very happy when it will come out @Insertcoolnamehere , as proof you already can watch all the available Mori's animations in the shop). Maybe it will be just a false promise but I don't think so as you will be able to buy it with the 'gold currency' (aka real money, I don't remember her right name).
But I'm agree, I found no toxicity in the Mori's, just the way the killers want to necessarily use it on someone before the end can be annoying & very boring. But this is for another topic…
That makes it even more mind boggling why the devs would think of changing the mori offerings in the first place. If they plan to sell moris in the future, wether with unique cosmetics or just diffrent animations, it doesnt make sense reducing the amount of time people will see those.

don't care one way or the other. If I play killer, I probably would not bring a mori offering instead of BP but as a survivor I'm not bothered by a killer bringing it; not really sure why it should bother me?
there are better ways to BM but a mori has never registered to me as BM'ing
yeah to me neither. BM'ing for me is things that the devs did not intentionally place. Perks and offerings are there to be used, i dont get how that is BM'ing. There is not really much room in this game to BM others honestly, humping a slugged survivor, yes. Same goes for teabagging after pallet stunns. And maybe the waiting and dancing around the exit gate too, but that one is quickly solved by just forcing the people out so we can que for the next match.
I think also the worst possible ways to BM is what survivors could do to each other (blocking or intentionally sandbagging or sabotaging the team)
So, Moris sound extremely mild to me even IF we somehow get a good argument why they count as BM. -

"Again, if people dont enjoy the game, why boot it up???"
you assuming players don't like this game because they quit which is WRONG. Players boot up the game hoping to have fun and end up running into certain playstyles/killers they don't like. The devs have allow survivors to escape through this 4% loophole for years without addressing it. Probably because they know survivors will just give up in other ways. No need to theory craft... it's obvious why survivors give up more. It's because they don't win a lot in solo queue that it. No mental gymnastics needed. T
"into certain playstyles/killers they dont enjoy"
And that happens every 3rd round? Thats the amount of time i see people ragequit (or give up). And im terrible with math but even i know when every 3rd game in MY games something like this happens it must mean it happens a hella lot to other people too. I am not magically attracting ragequitters into my lobby no matter what side i play, i dont believe that.
And for how frequent it is, i dont believe its just some niche scenarios, its some basic gameplay elements the people have issiues with (and rightfully so at times i'd say) but instead of quiting when they dont enjoy it, they still play, still get angry, still flame the other players for playing effective, while they themselves made it for the opponent even easyer by their action. But they dont care if they ruin the fun for their teammates or opponent, they just demand that their own fun is respected, while they themselves dont respect their own fun and time by booting up a game they quit over every little incident that they dont like. -

My personal opinion is that Mori's are integral to the theme of the game. Killers are forced to play by the Entity's rules, and then get rewarded appropriately if they knock down a survivor after two successful hook stages. It helps remind the player that these are killers, and they get to play by their own rules sometimes.
I understand and respect the argument that it provides an advantage, as there is no counterplay once a twice hooked survivor is on the ground, but I believe that the match has already provided enough opportunities for counterplay by that point anyway. Survivors can prevent hook stages with perks/bodyblocking/flashlights and would have already had two prior opportunities. Killers that bring Mori's are not bringing map offerings which would provide a stronger competitive advantage.
I have noticed an uptick of killers that will hump me on the ground if I am successful in a chase or perform a successful pallet stun. Killers do not need Mori's to be toxic — there are more severe and easier ways to make things painful to survivors.
oh yes devinitly, there is WAY more 'evil' stuff killers could do. And some actually pathetic things that are even against the games ToS and for good reason. Goes both ways though, but you are totally right, Moris are part of this game and the devs have actually worked on these animations.
I dont see why they think its a neccessary change to make it where people will see them way less, because now you gotta 4k for the moris. (If they go through with the change that is.) -

Clown has the worst one, and missed opportunity there to screenshot when he does the selfie :P
But i think all the moris look good, older ones could get a rework though but since BHVR is even thinking about changing the offerings to BP multiplicators i doubt THAT would ever happen. -

sounds like corporate talk and a big non-answer. Also "the affected account" implies they have only unbanned one, we alredy know multiple people that had been banned unrightfully, not to mention the dark numbers from people that dont have a community of their own. Its a disappointing answer, they take player safety way too lightly just like with the seizures issiue regarding trickster, where they even claim that there has only been 1 single person reporting it over the coarse of the last 2 months or so, while i just watched a youtuber whos own community has PROOF of multiple tickets sent with EVIDENCE showing the issiue that has been recreated.
People with epilepsy litteraly are at health risk, our accounts are at risk to get banned wrongfully. Whats next? Our wallets?
Seriously BHVR has never disappointed me as much, and right when 2v8 is around the corner, the thing i was so happy for when it announced. But if i cant know if i risk my account by playing, i wont be able to enjoy 2v8 either. I will wait and see for the next view days how they act regarding those big issiues, so far they left a very sour taste. If they dont change their behaviour towards the playerbase i rather invest my money and time somewhere else.
I understand not going in details because of the very cheaters but they alredy DONT acknowledge again it has been more than 1 person. Dont anyone get fooled by their corpo talk.
Also Edit: Thanks still @CountOfTheFog for providing the answer even though i dont trust it, you are amazing. Its almost shamefull we have to have someone from the community post a twitter response on the main page of their own game. As i said, info not spread at all. Still, thanks to you at least we are up to date. -

im bold ill say it first step remove giving up on hook obviously to stop circumventing the DC penalty and ruining the match for everyone if they afk at 3 crows it auto DCs them and penalize
My thought was going there and i will probably get banned for this idea: Remove DC penalty entirely.
I DO NOT CONDONE RAGEQUITTING!!!
in want to be VERY clear about that. But people ARE doing it either way. And by avoiding the penalty because they just give up and hookicide, there is essentially 3 or less people playing for real. A bot on the other hand, they dont give up, they just play. So without a penalty we would at least have more bots. If we get a way to punish hookiciders sure go for it, as long as it stopps i dont care what solution or what route they took.
But the above mentioned from me should be the easyest one to remove hookicides for now, until they figured out how to propperly battle hookiciding. -

It been rising since the knight/skull merchant 3 gen meta and have been consistently increasing. The devs have attempted to change unfun play Styles (knight, slug sadako, better anti tunnel perks, wesker infection tunneling, slugging twins) but the damge seem to be non-repairable.
still not an excuse to ragequit. Again, if people dont enjoy the game, why boot it up???

Hopefully it will be addressed in the Reddit AMA tomorrow!
It would be at least something, though i really wish they would spread their information across all plattforms not just Twitter which seems to be the main place.
Its reddit in this case but i have missed on alot of info in the past just because i dont use twitter. And i wont create an account just for a gaming company, other companys do the normal thing and let their playerbase know about things on like… the main page… -

I think that because the YouTube video recommended to be pretty much states that it’s happening in DbD and TXCM
Though, according to past official statements, playerid was never enough for BHVR for a ban and they always said that in-game reports and video evidence both are required to take action
And yet, people still got banned wrongfully. I want an official statement about that.

Unlike rage quitters, campers, tunnelers, sweats in general at least PLAY the game. If you ragequit however you essentially just play lobby simulator, why boot up the game at all then?

I read a lot of excuses claiming its only because of the event.
But the ragequit epidemic is going on since months. And there is 101 excuses for why people ragequit but somehow its always only certain scenarios, when in reality every 3rd match someone does it.
I really wish people that dont enjoy the game no more just dont que up. -

I ain’t gonna watch a 12 min video of a typical YouTuber (hate the way they speak - nothing personally against this one) when someone can just shortly describe the actual issue.
Apparently though it’s not DbD specific.
Idk why you would think its not DBD specific when people just fake themselves as others and stream while cheating. Player ID is alredy enough for banns apperantly. As has alredy been explained before these cheaters fake themselves as other people, so the wrong players get banned.
Its highly concerning banns are being handed out without double checking. Also its not about forum banns, i have seen someone mention the forum moderators, but they dont have anything to do with this, the issiue is about ingame banns. -
probably for views.. not all twitch streamers are like this though.

idk feels like fear mongering. He said “so many people have been banned” but provides like 3 examples and a reddit thread. Also he provided a completely unrelated example with TCM… and he literally proved the point that the girl was probably banned for her poor behavior. Nothing has ever stopped hackers from doing this before so I dont know why it’s such a big problem now. I remember seeing hackers pretend to be famous streamers like spookyloopz. This isnt really new and ill doubt anything will come of it. All those bans he listed could have been completely unrelated, false bans can happem, it doesnt mean they were purposely banned for hacks.
also the end of the video he states there could be “bad apples at bhvr who take bribes to do nefarious things” with no proof. I am sorry, but you cannot claim such outlandish things without any receipts or proof. At the end there he even said to take this with a grain of salt himself, he didnt claim that this would be the truth and simply said what people were talking about there. Pls dont spread misinformation. he said it IN the video that he doesnt claim these accusations to be truth.
Also these "only 3 people" are kinda very big streamers with alot of followers. This means its way worse if it happens to a non streamer like me, who doesnt have viewers to back them up and other content creators catching the issiue. If you like having your account you should take this serious aswell. And BHVR should respond. Because it could happen to you and me aswell. -
Yes this is such a big issiue and its going on since months. But dont you dare say anything against giving up, half of this playerbase thinks its totally fine to logg into a match and then throw first second something doesnt go well. Ive just startet taking the free wins at this point, just sad they are inflating killrates that way, who are alredy misread because killrates dont determine at all how good or strong a killer is.

The first killer to be released new since i started playing this game was dredge.
Every killer including him has been called OP when they were newly released, unless people started to learn the counterplay to those.
Dredge, Singularity, alien are seen almost never, they had a very short popularity span. Chucky lasted a little longer but i barely see him now either. Only one to break this cycle was wesker for now, but i dont think he was called OP upon release, he seems to be perfect middle ground. -

I like nic cages movies but i have never seen anything remotely horror from his career.
He's done some horror and horror comedies. Vampire's Kiss is one, Willy's Wonderland is another and I recommend that one. He was also in the ridiculous and hammy remake of The Wicker Man, as well as the recent modern adaptation of Lovecraft's "Color Out of Space." He's been in a few other horror films I haven't seen, Nic Cage does a lot of obscure movies. He's not super-strongly tied to the horror genre but he's definitely not a stranger to it either. He's a very unique kind of person and he is the ONLY real-life person I don't mind being included in DbD, but I hope they never do it again.
Would have perferred ghost rider as a killer at this point. but thats just my personal opinion.

The way hes unironically not. Nic Cage is at least known for being a partial horror actor and at the end of the day, offered his likeness for free why the hell would they turn that down esp from an A list worldwide known celeb? The occasional wacky or goofy thing happening is fine, after all comedy horror exists. But throwing in dungeons and dragons and rainbow six siege its just straying too far from what horror, and DBD is.
for free? Nah no way. Also he is a real life person, so he is immediatly less fitting than any fictional character you could come up with. If we talk about immersion, then having a real life actor playing as himself in a video game… not so much.
I like nic cages movies but i have never seen anything remotely horror from his career. -

I see this said a lot to justify overly comedic or non horror things in this game and it gets on my nerves more than anything. so far starters, DBD IS a horror game. It doesn't matter if it 'stops becoming scary' its still a horror game with a horror centric theme that, until last chapter, has always kept the horror centric theme.
DBD being horror is what makes this game successful and I'm sorry but straying away from horror to move onto other genres is just…weird. So what because the game stops becoming traditionally scary (at the devs fault btw) that means we just move on from the horror genre and start fresh? Everything in DBD people try to use as justification doesn't make sense especially since the mascot skins such as Robbie or Clowns community skin are often used as justification despite mascots being an extremely common fear (John Wayne Gacy hello?) and the Robbie skins are in a league of their own as literal icons in the horror genre.
Bottom line is its ridiculous that people fight so hard for DBD to stop being a horror game when it being horror is what made it so famous in the first place and I swear moving away from that will be something that kills this gameIt stopped being one when we got nic cage. Vecna is much more fitting than a real life actor from our world.
-
Well if a killer decides to dodge a lobby im in, i'll never know because i dont pay attention to the boring lobby screen anymore. But if a survivor ragequits mid match i have downsides on both sides if i am their teammate or the killer.
So you alredy have a big difference there. Though i wouldnt mind if it were to be implemented exactly like you said, as long as we can get rid of people that dont even want to play the game im fine. -
@Toonster said:
Let's go with your idea. Let's give people a penalty for giving up on hook. You can even give them a penalty for attempting all 3 times on hook too. Problem solved, right?
Well no people would probably just stand still and go afk instead.
Let's ban that then, no more standing afk.
But then people would just be useless and grief their team instead of trying to play the game.
Okay let's penalize people who haven't touched a gen in X seconds.
But then you're punishing newer players who may not know what to do or are scared.
You see what I'm getting at? If someone doesn't want to play the game, they will find a way to not engage.
If these people dont want to participate why do they boot up in the first place? I dont see this weird behavior in any other game, ever.
-
Im flabbergasted how people actually justify rage quitting.
If the game is that bad that a person feels the need to rage quit, maybe its the wrong game? -

Yeah if there is one thing this community is good at it's complaining lol. Some stuff I understand because the game is always evolving and some things should definitely be changed. And to be fair, complaining by the community does result in changes (adren, gen regress, twins ptb, billy buff, etc.) I think people just are never happy though and they constantly look for the next thing to raise their pitchforks at lol. But thanks for taking the time to discuss this topic respectfully no matter if the views are opposing or not. I genuinely wish you the best :)
My issiue is who they are complaining to, rather than that they are complaining at all. I think there is loads of dumb takes from some people, but they are free to have them. Sorry about the double reply lol I don't know what happened. I thought my comment got deleted so I did another one but now I see they were both posted. Sorry! But yeah, I don't think that this sabo increase is necessarily good either. It's not really something I think is necessary as I think successful sabo hooks should be rare, but I only used it as an example to support my point in offerings not being very strong. But yeah, I believe I agree with you, I just don't think that an offering should always equal a bleedout.
Oh yes i agree with this too, the bleedout even if you would be able to hook is pathetic, but most of the time when someone comes on here to say they were bleed out, they did something to force the killer to do it that way. And if i hear 4 petrified oaks its pretty logic that the OP and his squad tried something and the killer just outplayed it.
And that is fine, it couldve had worked aswell. I just dont see why we gotta make a fuss about stuff like this. Same goes for the camping and tunneling discussions. -
The only map in this game that actually annoyes me is hawkins. The others are fine.

@hermitkermit said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3729532#Comment_3729532
I suppose where we disagree is that in my opinion, a petrified oak offering doesn't mean the game will be unhookable and is not very strong even stacked. I think the fact that they're trying to buff toolboxes for sabo supports this as well, because if unhookable games were very common or easy to get with an offering I don't think they would be looking to increase the chances of getting a save by sabo of a hook. I also agree it isn't toxic to bring the offering, as again I don't think it automatically means the game will be unhookable. And I suppose this also means in my opinion that just because the offering is brought doesn't mean you need to bleed out the entire team to counter, as what the original post stated that I replied to.
In any case, gliyn!
Just be careful with your wish for easyer sabo plays. Killers will adapt to it and just do the bleedout game. It will be a very annoying and boring meta. If it ever happens.
And it doesnt matter if its strong or not, the intention to make unhookable situations with petrified oak is the only logic reason why you would do a petrified oak in the first place. As i alredy said, i dont think its toxic per say, i just dont see any other reason to run petrified oak if not for making unhookable situations. -
@JPLongstreet said:
I view this exactly the same as survs 3-genning themselves. Hooks are a resource that killers need to keep in mind. But I also think several maps need their hook spawns tweaked.
With the upcoming changes to sabo, maybe a generic killer perk may be helpful, I'll call it Mechanic for now. It would reinforce hooks in the killer's terror radius or something on a down, say for like 10 seconds, making them take twice as long to sabo. Something like that.
Y'all mess around with this idea, some really creative folks around the forum. And it needs a better name. 😂🤣
And we still got a anti 3-gen mechanic and an anti hook grab mechanic.
Time for hooks to stay if you sacrificed a survivor on them. And while we are at it we should make a mechanik so its easyer to spot the last 2 survivors if all they do is hiding while we still have 4 gens left. -
@hermitkermit said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3727851#Comment_3727851
It spreads hooks but typically not even very far, as there are so many on most maps close together. Even in the op post they had 3 people being to em and all 3 were on comms and it still didn’t work. If it was guaranteed to work everytime then I would more so understand the hatred but many times it doesn’t work so I’m not sure why it’s deemed to be so toxic.
It still has no other reason than to make unhookable situations. Luckily the maps are all pretty much safe from that tactic. But the petrified Oak does nothing else than generate bigger distances between hooks.
Im not saying its toxic or you should not try to win, if the oaks are the way you try, then good luck. But i dont think we should try to justify it by something else than what it is either. Call it for what it is, its fine. And anyone who says its toxic is wrong because its in the game to be used. -

It does kind of remind me of how survivors DC against a skull merchant because they assume the game is going to be a certain way simply because of what someone else brought. But SM and petrified oak both got their reputations for a reason so. I suppose it makes sense.
well what other reason would you have to run petrified oaks if not for generating non-hookable situations? XD Thats litteraly what petrified oaks are for.
And it only ever worked on midwich when i did it with my swf. Probably works on hawkins too as this map is absolutely bad to play on for both sides. -

Technically there was a game like that, Video Horror Society, aka VHS. Where the survivors would make weapons and actually fight back against the killer. As the basic gameplay, instead of doing generators, you wanted to hit damage and banish killer once with each different type of weapon. Those types being Burn, Purify (aka Holy), Shock, and Curse. Once they been banished four times, once for each type, the survivors win. It however, sadly got shut down. While not necessarily a fault of the gameplay, it was more they didn't generate enough income. Yet also because of encountering a series security issue that took them too long to fix which was really the final nail in the coffin.
Its not impossible for the developers to implement what you are suggesting, this but it would either be a perk (unlikely), or have to be its own separate game mode (more likely).except VHS failed because the monster role was unrewarding and felt underpowered, add to that the "yes men" bubble the devs of that game have built and you have a perfect recipe for its failure.
