  • literally all of them. Thats why a 3 gen is so brutal. They will waste their resources, they will start making mistakes, you WILL eventually get a down, then the snow ball just happens, thats it. Plague with a ruin still in play is really fun though for a favorite

    I think i can translate.

"Against solo 12 hooks is possible, but even a 2-3 man swf can be too efficient, the gens just fly by. Even as a solo Survivor who isn't good at looping I can loop a killer for 3 gens or get 1-2 totems broken in the time it takes m team to do 3 gens. I can see why it is frustrating for killers and something must be done"

it sounds like he just isnt a very good killer then. :/

with solo maybe new players yes but swf group of 2/2 or 3 one solo or full swf At most killers get there last hooks when egc starts or about to start

I play most killers but main 4 but I can see how gens fly when I play solo survivor I'm not a good looper never will be but I get chased doing good as I can get down and 3 gens pop I been able to make it out as survivor with out touching a gen I do 1 or 2 totems before I can touch a gen 3 gens are done something does need to be done about this because I can see why killers camp and tunnel sometimes.

Im not trying to be rude, I genuinely do not understand what you are trying to say. It may be the lack of punctuation, it may be because it is late, but I genuinely do not understand what you are trying to convey

funny how you say scoring should be 1/12 hook states but some killers can't do that how fast gens go by the time some killers have 3 hooks all gen are done(with out camping)

and the only time I camp or tunnel is egc at which point I have no choice

there maybe less camping if gens didn't go so fast or survivor had a 2nd objective because totums aren't working.

I play every killer except; bubba, spirit, nurse and billy in my rotation. Consistent rank 1 every season, consistent 4ks, no exceptions with anyone I play with. I have to fully disagree with you, there is not a single killer who is incapable of consistently getting 10-12 hooks on an average game, when played optimally. Some are less consistent, sure, but I can't think of a single killer who is trying to get less than 12 hook states by their main objective. You could argue pyramid head, seeing as you can kill everyone with your power, but still 12 earned hooks.

  • If a killer wants to waste a perk slot of it then ######### go for it. Annoying, yes. Good, no.

Especially in a swf where a teammate can just go pick up your good item, it really isnt great

  • Some people have suggested having 4-8 checkpoints on a generator, and that they'd regress back to a checkpoint over a period, or begin regressing fully when kicked. I dont think this is necessary, but it has been suggested

I just played as survivor vs. Hag. About 5 mins and 4 gens into the match i was hit for the first time, downed and moried. All on my first hit? Is this even possible? They moried every teammate. Any input would be great so i understand. Thank you community.

you got hit with devour hope

  • Legion is good at spreading damage and slowing down the game, one of the most annoying things for survs.

He has nothing for ending chases and any kind of post power stun always feels uncomfortable.

This creates a killer who isn't necessarily great, but feels weak to play and annoying to play against

  • "You're so ######### toxic"

"You have 300 ping, were tbagging constantly and had a flashlight machine gun macro, what did I do that was toxic?"

    "You played deathslinger"

I had no response for that, and their only response was that he was boring. I cant even sometimes

  • Sitting at his desk every day, he felt his soul slowly chipped away through the monotony. The faint buzzing of the fluorescent light overhead, the faint stench of mold growing on the cubical dry-wall. The tapping of fingers on keyboards incessant, mind bending, reality warping. Not a thought passed as he mindlessly fulfilled his role. He had accomplished nothing, been loved by no one, unable to have kids in a marriage of convenience. His reality would be soul crushing, if there were a soul left. Empty and alone, there was nothing left to take, the dark walls of reality began to crumble around him as his senses were clouded by a thick, drowning fog. Somehow thicker than himself, he felt weightless as he began to float towards the ceiling upon a wave of dark smoke, before a black tendril snaked around his chest and began dragging him deep into the fog.

Join us in the Hollow Crypt DLC, and meet the new killer, John "The Husk". No power, no buffs, a puppet with no will of their own, driven only to act by mindless obedience for command.

I believe that was attempted once, and all that ended up happening is survivors looping straight to the hook in every chase, sometimes running around it. One of those ideas that sounds great in theory, but is too easy to abuse

I still don't understand how. Wasn't this before the entity blocked vaults? I see no world in which an evenly matched group outloops any modern killer for an extended period.

even then, free hits/downs mean free hook states.

  • while thats true, there IS still an issue with this at lower ranks (white/yellow) and this would certainly fix that

  • @Hektic3000 said:

A good group of survivors can take this mechanic and use it to stall out even more time for team-mates to do gens. 1 person on the hook, 1 on standby for the save(could possibly even loop the killer around the hooked survivor), 2 survivors pumping out gens.

I mean if its that much of a problem surv proximity could counter the counter but that seems needlessly excessive. I see no world in which any survivor playing against a similarly ranked killer loops that close to a killer without also going down. And either way you really dont want survs dying by taking multiple hook states per hook. Ideally a 4k is 12 hook states, so once again, I don't see this as an issue in any way. The objective in hooking someone should always be to score 1/12 hook states. If we are trying to counteract camping, then a killer trying to kill someone on one hook is being punished by face camping.

As a killer main, who plays 90% killer, I can very confidently say that, if a surv can keep looping a killer in that close proximity to a hooked person, I see no possible negative for game health. The killer needs to be pressuring, they aren't doing that by camping, they should never be rewarded for camping. Its unhealthy practice if a killer wants to score well and its unhealthy for the state of the game

  • the solution is to make hook proximity slow the sacrifice timer. I am yet to see any explanation as to how this wouldnt instantly fix the problem entirely

  • Tunneling means you aren't applying pressure. Try tunneling at red ranks and see how fast you get Gen rushed. Its a dick move and objectively a bad choice.

  • Yesterday I played a huntress with aimbot. You may ask "oh come on maybe they were just good, don't complain about good huntresses". As someone who plays A LOT of huntress, I know exactly what throws are and AREN'T possible.

...oh and she was also throwing directly through walls and structures the entire game...

I go to his steam profile, and he has a twitch, go on the twitch, HES STILL DOING IT. Just tracking people through walls and throwing hatchets as if the walls weren't there, hitting every shot because of course he is. How is this ######### even possible?

  • absolutely not. They serve very different purposes. Pop is for killers who can get quick, consistent downs. Ruin is for killers who can apply a very strong board pressure. A late game pop may feel impactful, but in the long run, you are diminishing your returns heavily. Its like the noed vs devour argument. Noed is considered a very weak perk, just annoying, while devour is considered mid tier and very dangerous. This is because devour can provide cheap and easy snowball, the perk gets you value throughout the match. Perks that provide little consistent value, even for a similar overall effect, are not considered strong. Perks stepping on eachother's feet will, in the long run, just make good perks worth less to you.

If you still want more gen denial, and are sure you need to use two perk slots on it, then Id recommend literally any other combo of gen blockers.

Thano + Ruin is great for pressure killers like legion, wraith, plague. Anyone who can either move around quickly or spread damage. This makes gen progress slow, and gen regression consistent

Pop + Overcharge is very effective for killers who need to give up certain gens for set up, and will likely be relying on a three or four gen for late game play. Trapper, Myers. Doctor is particularly good with overcharge due to the effects of his madness but thats a bit on the nose lol

Corrupt can be used with any of the denial or regression perks for consistent early use. No wrong answers there

Just optimize your build, and make sure you never run perks that will get in the way of other perks. You have a lot of options and can certainly find a solution to your problem without needing to compromise

I am now 100% convinced the word toxic no longer means anything. The forum censor should automatically replace the word "toxic" with "jiminy jillikers".

my uncle died when he fell in the jimmy jiliker ooze

  • The thing about ghosty is if you THINK you're 99ed, you just make him hit you. Its pretty simple. Its so incredibly rare that a ghost face 99s you and gets it off later. Especially if Im with a group, we just coordinate whose saving or going to be doing the riskier movements. At that point you force him to wait for his power to reset, or you make him hit you and he loses his power. Unlike mikey he actually has fantastic counter play. People just don't complain about mikey because he has a cap on how much he can use his power. Which is kinda insane seeing as he is the only killer in the game who can actually stop having a power at a point but not the point.

and do you know how absolutely useless it is for deathslinger?

    not a good comparison

deathslinger's is bad because at that range you CANT reel them in, there its far too easy to get debris in the way. Huntress also still has the option to increase her throwing speed or to have more shots with hatchets.

Making contact with death slinger's was never the problem, its reeling them in thats rough. Tbh if deathslinger's did a health state with his iri when they break free if they were hit over 20 meters it would actually be really cool. It would make breaking line of sight your new focus, and it would make his iri actually menacing. But thats a bit of a different issue. The point is I think you're missing why the iri deathslinger add on is weak in the first place, which isnt a problem huntress shares

  • its been said often, but just make it only insta down after 20 meters like deathslinger. Problem solved

  • Im sorry but its a multiplayer game that relies heavily on teamwork. If you have internet issues it isn't the burden of the DBD dev team to work around that. If you joined a game then never touched your keyboard that would be on you, how is this different?

  • yea that ones your wifi...

  • a big thing no one realizes, the original rifts had 100 auric cell slots near the end. Now there are only 50s. Seeing as the total auric cells haven't changed, that means that there is just less in each rift. Like just literally fewer rewards, and they are padding it out by spreading the auric cell dumps

  • You'll need six feet of blue hair and a lime green dress

  • but... why does he NEED a buff? Hes not trapper with a limited number of traps either, if he could just paint the entire map that would be so broken

  • BBQ has a great ability, AND doubles all bp. Unless you are using the killers with the worst mobility, it will not only always be incredibly useful, but it will grant you 40-60k total bp per game. It is one of the main reasons killer is so blood point rich, which is kinda important. A LOT of killer builds rely heavily on add ons. Without the bp pay out, a lot of killers could not justify playing their favorites, as they could not keep up on the bp farming to make up for losses

The new chapters are meant to be fun for survivors. Stop being entitled killer main, we have enough OP killers in the game with Spirit, nurse, freddy, deathslinger, pyramid, leatherface, huntress, and now soon wraith as well, we don't need anymore.

what an incredibly poor hot take. "ONLY SURVS PLAY NOW SO ONLY SUPPORT THEM"! Why do you think survs have such a long que time? Or keep getting terrible match making? Because the majority of killers are losing interest. With just survs, they have no game

Funny. I think you are the troll who tries to balance the game around your own skill instead of play in ranks you belong into or just learn from mistakes and adapt. Perks being baseline is not helpfull at all, you are completly blinded by your own rage from some recent games that you forget what it would do across all ranks and across some of the weaker killers that need any help they can get. So sorry "my guy" you are not seeing the whole picture but just focusing on your own problems.

I don't need selfcare to stay in red ranks. Inner strength is a far better perk for healing especially with how common sloppy seems to be rn :/

General comfort is general comfort. Even if self care replaced a medkit I still dont think it would make healing this "super easy thing to do". Unless you think a brown medkit is suddenly game breaking? Especially at the cost of a perk slot? I think you're just looking for an excuse to be angry rn

Jesus Im not saying bring it back to 2017 levels. Just let you replace a brown toolbox with a perk slot. You would NEVER get that off in a chase in red ranks. Especially since you wouldn't have add ons. And a lot of people don't know how or when to heal as is, the primary reason self care is terrible in its current state. How about instead of being a troll trying to poke holes in anything, add something constructive to a discussion about balancing. Theres no need for toxicity rn my guy

Self care was nerfed not to make it basekit and buff it again... you know... It was nerfed because people could heal completly while killer would break 1 pallet. Statements like this make me question how do you even play the game if you need so many supporting wheels!

I recently had a mission to escape as Laurie and I have not spend a single bloodpoint on her and I beat a rank 1 killer, had 31k BP and did better then all other survivor with DS Rank 1 that I did not even use.

Sorry to say, but to the most people here git GUD

Unbreakable should be base, that would fix everything.

this was a very old take. If a lot of the more integral perks were basekit (but weak) abilities, it would solve most of the problems. If anyone could 99 themselves to like "stable and ready to be helped up" and then do another bar to then get up, that would solve slugging entirely. Unbreakable would then work for actively wanting to get up, and they could even buff the res increase. Self care is already slow enough that it could almost be basekit. So many people would waste time with it, but it would be an option. The self care perk could then actually be decent again. A lot of people say the same thing about sabo, now that saboing is so weak as is. It would take a long ######### time, and wouldnt last very long, but it would once again, make items feel impactful

Realistically the Dev's aren't going to take away the hook information from the Survivors now they've given it, with they're goal of bring solo play up to SWF level, so if they're going to provide the information to Survivors they should be doing the same to Killers.

And i'd argue that its harder for Killers to remember this information given that they have much more information to focus on than the Survivors.

from my experience I remember who I hooked and when. When Im focusing on my objectives as a surv its easy enough to miss a hook on someone else. Idk

  • @MrGrizzly said:

Uh.. first of all, the gates do NOT open, only all the gens get completed, which is a whole other story.. opening the exit gates is not easy sometimes with how easy to camp some gates can be.

Second of all, if the last survivor couldn't even get the hatch and has to do the remaining gens to THEN open the gates, that'd be literally impossible, and it'd punish solo Q survivors that get bad teammates with no DS that get tunnelled early game.

So, no, this idea is just objectively bad, plus a hatch as "last chance" is still luck based, you can't count on it except if you had it early located.

i mean that would be an inherent key balance. "All or nothing". You ######### this up, you're screwed

  • often ranked A or S, Doctor's strength comes from taking safety away from survs, anad requires a good killer to play to take advantage of such. High madness survs will scream, giving up position, shocking can disrupt almost any loop. A good killer will DESTROY a team with proper pressure. He's really the perfect M1 killer.

  • he either needs to stalk multiple survs at once again, or he needs to have an unlimited stalk cap

  • @aprils4kids said:

Jailbreak Challenge is not being counted when it's been done. I was under the killer, Freddy, while he was carrying someone and they got away yet it didn't count and complete the challenge.

Also, in the same match, I was the following killer while he was carrying someone and he dropped that person who got away, and it didn't give me credit. Both times I was closer than 10 meters, literally on top of them.

Other challenges have done the same thing as well, but eventually got them to count. Ex the glyph challenges, the last glyph would not let me get it, the R1 Button wouldn't show up. Next few matches it worked finally.

I am not sure how to take a screenshot since I don't know their is an issue until the match is over and I see if it counted or not. I also don't know how to report these issues.

Anyone have these issues? What do I do here?

    Thanks in advance

it may actually mean "drop", like by choice?

  • I shouldve forced them out harder!

  • one time I didnt tunnel or camp or do anything toxic, but I still wanted to let them out. I closed the hatch to start egc and push them out the door, but they didnt make it out because they were dicking around too much and ran out of time ;-;

    I felt terrible

  • i mean how do you balance such a thing? Lose a hook state every time they dc? Then why not DC at start and go for hach later after everyones dead? Seems really flawed

  • a lot of people thought they would add a phantom sea diver with a harpoon gun. Then they gave one to a cowboy. For... some reason...

Like deathslinger is awesome, don't get me wrong. But a harpoon gun is a ######### thing already, why make him invent one? Like a lasso functions as one and a cowboy would just have one. And there is no nonlethal way of using such a gun on someone to help as a bounty hunter, you might as well use a gun. None of it makes sense

  • is it just me or did anyone else die trying to understand that?

  • the first was the hardest and my personal favorite. I made a personal challenge to do every single challenge in one game. 70 games later, I had done it. It was INCREDIBLY hard, but I did it. Then the challenges stopped being challenges, and started just being grinds

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

I never really understand why a killer chooses to dc in a game, especially if the game is close to over. I've had times, as the killer, where I've definitely wanted to in some ways but I choose not to still.

For example, yesterday I had 3 games back to back with rank 1 survivor squad in the first one, second was all red, and the last was red with some purple. Each game had 3 gens done within the first few minutes and it gets old in back to back games. I just decided to stare at a wall and just goof around. Definetly better than dcing imo. I was a baby plague (like level 15) so I expected to lose but didn't expect to lose that badly.

Why dc as anyone? Its toxic from either side

    In that case:

    Pig - Bloodied Plans

You have no Reverse Beartraps. You cannot see the Auras of Jigsaw Boxes.

Survivors can search Jigsaw Boxes at any time, and the search time is Moderately reduced.

All Generators are blocked by The Entity at the start of the Trial.

A Generator is unblocked when a Survivor fully searches a Jigsaw Box.

A Generator is blocked when you Hook a Survivor.

Pyramid Head - Rite of Execution

Survivors that have not started the Sacrificial Process must be sent to a Cage of Atonement, and cannot be picked up. (This can be done for Survivors that are not Tormented).

Survivors that have reached the first stage of the Sacrificial Process must be Hooked, and cannot be sent to a Cage of Atonement.

Survivors who have been Hooked in The Basement can be Killed by your hand.

its interesting but I still don't know how I feel about it. Like, a game changing mechanic would be if instead of killing you, whenever a generator is completed, you take a state of damage. Then they could just not be removable. A gen popping while you are injured requires you to mend. If you already need to mend THEN you are downed. Then it becomes about rushing gens before the pig can really snowball
