  • It was also a good time to clean up on the survivor challenges in the rift. Had no problems getting the Any Means Necessary and Breakout ones since MMR thought I should be paired with rank 20 killers with only 1 or 2 perks. As a note, I do realize rank wasn't supposed to matter but these people played like baby killers.

  • Fun times back in that first winter. Killers could equip other killers equipment, like chainsaw myers. They could also equip survivor perks, so good luck trying to get away from a killer with bond.

  • No, that just let's you rev longer before you tantrum and you would still see him rev. What you describe sounds like an insta-saw and that's not possible. I wonder if it's a bug where you don't see him rev on your screen even though he was?

  • All of them. Whenever new ones get released I work on getting those. There's only a couple that are a pain (Evil Incarnate is probably the worst), but otherwise it's just grinding them until they're done.

  • Do you get the DC penalty when you get booted out? Are there still issues with lobbies getting shut down? It's been painful enough to play survivor when you constantly get kicked out of lobbies, now getting kicked out of the game makes it even worse.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yes, so far, happened only as Killer. But when I play Survivor, I am not playing Solo, maybe this is the reason.

What is kinda annoying is that it happens after already being in queue for a few minutes. So you have to join the queue again, and especially during the day, Killer Queues here are long.

When I play survivor it's always solo and the first day saw the error only a few times. The next day it was every time I tried to play as survivor (probably 8x total). I also got the error as killer, but only 2x. For me the survivor queues are about 5 min while killer is instant, so I gave up even trying survivor.

  • Seems like the general lobby errors that are happening since the patch yesterday. I can't even get into a survivor match anymore due to the lobby errors. Killer seems to work 90% of the time, but even then the queue is way shorter so it's not a big deal to get right back in.

  • I have this happening as well on Steam.

First game as killer, I get an error and can't load into a lobby, try again and it works.

I then try survivor, get into a lobby then get booted out with "The lobby has been closed due to an unexpected error". There were 3 survivors and no killer at the time. Then I try another 3 times and get the error "Connection with host could not be established. Please try again." after waiting and it seems like it's about time to load into a lobby.

Played 2 games as killer with no errors.

Tried survivor again, get into a lobby and get kicked out with "The lobby has been closed due to an unexpected situation."

Gave up on survivor after this since it's too much of a waste of time to keep trying and get kicked out after a 5 min wait.

    EDIT:

Over the next 2 hours I saw the error one more time as killer and tried occasionally as survivor (maybe another 4x). Could never get into a survivor game all night due to the errors.

  • Survivor: Kate, I have every cosmetic on her

Killer: Bubba, I've always liked playing him even before the buff, it's a great feeling when you can get 3 or 4 down in a single chainsaw (and no I don't do insidious or basement camping)

  • Only played it twice so still need to get used to it. The thing that keeps bugging me about it is some of the entrances to the building. You need to hit some of them at the perfect angle or you get caught. I found this mostly happens at the dirt ramps they have going into it.

  • I thought a lot of survivors were running it recently, but this makes sense now. I honestly didn't pay attention to their perks, just assumed I was running up against it a lot.

  • I was getting this error a lot last night. As survivor it happened 3x in a row. I gave up playing survivor since you don't get it until you are going into a lobby, so after a ~5 min queue wait just to have to start over wasn't fun. As killer I ended up with this error 5-6x consecutively but with the quick queues it wasn't bad to just go back in. I also had it happen sporadically other times, probably somewhere around 12-15 total over about 3 hours on PC.

  • I used to be all about the DC penalty but these days I'm more against it. If someone doesn't want to play a game for whatever reason then they'll still DC, kill themselves on hook, or go AFK. If it happens at the beginning of a match then it's ruined the whole game anyway, now everyone just has to suffer through a pointless game. If I'm playing survivor and that happens then I just run up to the killer and hope they won't just slug me. As killer I'll just try to finish off the match quickly, which may come off as being sweaty, but really I just want it over.

  • I remember back in the early days running across a streamer and three SWF friends. They brought 2 flashlights, a key, a Haddonfield offering, and whatever meta survivor build there was back then (can't recall the specifics). One thing to note is that this was back when there were insta-blind flashlights and the hatch spawned after doing two gens. I didn't play killer much and was playing Wraith somewhere in the 15+ ranks. They just did two gens, then the flashlight people harassed me with constant blinds while the others looked for the hatch. I was able to hook one of them and hung out at the hook since they were all around it, but they grabbed them off the hook and everyone escaped (the hatch wasn't far from the hook). In post match they were pretty toxic and rude and at the end the streamer said something along the lines of "I never lose". If you bring that much OP firepower to bully brown ranks then I really hope you don't lose.

  • Jake was the last one I got, mostly due to people not playing him as much I figure. It gets harder to obtain with more survivors coming out but if you keep playing Bubba you'll eventually get it.

  • I didn't have any trouble finding them. I got it in 3 games as a killer and found them all by playing normally. You need to listen for the sound when you get close. The hardest to find was on the Game since it made the noise downstairs but was actually upstairs. Even then it wasn't really that bad.

  • This is definitely going in the right direction, and it's appreciated that you guys are working on it so quickly.

My concerns would be that survivors are still a bit spread out by being vertical and the colors aren't quite as contrasted. After playing a few days I noticed that I almost never looked at the survivor icons or gen counts except when there was down time (more often as survivor compared to killer). When I did look, it wasn't a quick glance and get all the info, I had to actually look and parse the info. So I'm wondering if it will be easier to quickly see with this layout but still not as easy to get all the data that's important in that quick glance.

  • Not sure if he's actually any worse than others but visually his hits are pretty bad. He's always kind of been that way so it may just seem even worse with the current hit box issues.

  • It's nice to have them look into these things. Just not sure why they thought it might be different from what people were saying during the PTB. Saying they wanted to let everyone try it is a bit of an insult to those who took the time to play it and give their feedback.

  • They should give killers the same hook view as survivors, the one they have now really doesn't serve a purpose. I imagine in most cases killers keep a mental count anyway. If they want to tunnel then they'll tunnel whether that's there or not.

  • When I use pretty much the same build (swap bbq for discordance) on Bubba I end up 4king way more often than not so I'd say it's a pretty good build. The times when I don't it's a good team that can get things done and I would probably need to sweat on any killer. It doesn't sound like you really did that bad it's just that the survivors were doing a really good job and they lucked out with a good survivor sided map.

  • No, I don't see a point in locking survivors. What I really want is killers to not be locked. I understand why it's like this but it's still one of those pet peeves I have with this game.

  • I was playing her a lot a few months ago. I'd run across the issue where you puke on someone, they make a noise, but they aren't infected probably about once every game. What made me stop is when I was playing one round chasing someone, puked on them 3x, they made the sound each time, but were never infected. I just left the game and have only played her for a daily once or twice since then. I really hope they can fix her because while she isn't top tier I did find her fun to play when her power actually works.

  • I don't like to farm in general but if the killer shows that they are trying to complete a challenge or something I'll help out. I try to get out of the match as quickly as possible though so I can move on.

  • Killers: All

    Survivors: Dwight, Meg, Kate, Ash

  • I only have time available after work and family time. That leaves about an hour or two to play each night. Depending on what else I need to get done I'll decide to play survivor or killer. I'll use the survivor wait times to work on those other things, otherwise I'll play killer and just play games back to back.

  • Just tried the code Henduo and it worked for me, gives the same sweater.

  • I've seen that happen a bunch too. Never knew if the killer could see it since I've never actually screamed from it. It's always been silent with just the jump back motion for me.

  • Seems like it'll just lead to a boring standoff. The killer stands there and watches you, then you deliverance at the last second. You get knocked down and now the killer stands over your body for another minute waiting out DS. I'd rather just get it over and move on.

  • As someone who also has a full time job and a couple young children, I've been able to finish the rift every time. The average playtime I get per day is probably around 1.5 to 2 hours. Right now I'm at level 60 and should be able to wrap things up once the next set of challenges are released. Here's how I prioritize:

    • Try to play at least one game as killer and survivor per day, you get a bit of a bump for those first games.
    • When new challenges are released focus on finishing them. I try to make it to the end as quickly as possible, then go back to finish up any grindy or more difficult ones later. I haven't found any challenge to be overly difficult, and if things get bad enough you can try farming. For this rift I've completed every challenge within a week of them being released.
    • Play killer as much as possible since the queue times are pretty much instant and you don't waste as much time.
    • In between working on challenges try to get one level every other day. Occasionally I can knock a level out in a single day but that's not too common.

Even with all of that some rifts are worse than others. I found this one to be a bit easier than the last two which I completed right at the end. The other thing I've found is that these tend to burn me out as well, so I'll take a break in between just to recharge.

  • I've seen the hill spawn on those. They even have a totem spawn at the top now. It's like a beacon when your totem is up there (happened multiple times when I played last).

  • I don't remember there being a new chapter that was this bad. I never ran across the new killer as a survivor which is really odd for a new release. The killer is so bugged I just gave up. The final straw was from Victor being stuck in the ground over 50% of the time I released him in one game. It is really disappointing that they thought it was alright to release a chapter that was this buggy.

  • First game as the new killer and #2 happened when I let Victor out. This happened on Torment Creek.

  • I still miss the button we had that let you quick switch between killer and survivor. Close second is being able to switch killers while in queue.

  • Yeah, tried over the last couple of days with the same result. I'm wondering if it may have something to do with any of the steam privacy settings.

  • Had the same thing happen and looks like the same exact place. The killer had undying and it moved ruin there which was impossible to cleanse.

  • Really hope these get fixed. I like playing as her, but having a survivor scream but not get infected is really frustrating. I even had it happen to me as a survivor recently and was confused as to why I wasn't sick since I was obviously hit.

  • Got it first try with spirit and put on dead dawg saloon so there would be good totem spots. I find these kind of challenges to be easier with her since you tend to get hook after hook fairly quickly. They never found devour and it ended in a complete slaughter

  • The struggle mechanic is the worst and they should really look into an alternative way to handle it. I had to macro it early on since it would cause my hand to hurt after a bit which would cause me to die on hook. I would have given up playing this game if I had to slam a key all the time.

  • First day I was pretty down on him too. Then I watched some videos of Monto and Scott playing as him and I think that helped me see how to use his power better. The next time I played it felt much better and had some really fun games even with me whiffing as I got used to him. I won't be a blight main but he at least won't be collecting dust on my killer shelf (sorry trapper).

  • Had this happen for the first time recently. I was able to drop them then pick them back up and then it worked.

  • I'd just let it go. If I lose an item to Franklin's then it's better for someone to at least grab it than to let it go to waste on the ground.

  • Had this happen for the first time as survivor today. Vaulted a pallet and a billy chainsawed it then I was stuck and couldn't move. I didn't know this was a survivor issue as well since I've been stuck in pallets twice in the past few days. First was as Oni and I was stuck on top when someone slammed me with the pallet. In that case I was stuck and couldn't do anything. The second was with Leatherface and I was able to at least break the pallet. PC as well here.

  • I was running sabo yesterday while working on the protection hit challenge. No squad or anything, just doing it solo. Each time I was able to pull it off the killer would drop the person and chase me even though another hook wasn't that far away. A killer even facecamped me when I did it on one hook that game.

It doesn't feel worth it, running solo at least. You need to be pretty close when they are downed which means you're mostly being useless chasing after the killer. It also seems to anger killers quite a bit.

  • The triple bloodpoint event was fun times. Killers and survivors came together to farm like crazy! I think party streamers were common rarity back then too.

Another time when things were a bit goofy was the glitch when killers could equip other killers powers. Chainsaw Myers was a fun experience. Or when killers could equip survivor perks and they would come in with Bond...

  • Hawkins on both sides. I have such a hard time figuring out how to get from point A to B and end up trying to find paths to get through a room.

  • Are there any planned fixes for when a killer appears to grab a survivor but then gets cancelled mid-animation?

  • I've bought every DLC on their release day. The cost hasn't been that bad when it's spread out like that.

  • I'll say it if someone else throws it out there first or the chat isn't toxic no matter if I win or lose. If people are being rude I just stay silent and move on.

  • Since I finished this one and got my cells back I most likely will. I wouldn't put any more money into it as it is now though. The skins weren't that interesting and charms are pretty worthless. I just don't feel like it was worth the money. Being able to roll over cells is really the only thing that will keep me coming back so I'm hoping it will be worth it in the long run.
