How could it be a bug? They wrote a whole sentence for the change in the perk description. Very weird tho, I will say
Its literally the old flavour text before it was changed to having no CD lol

BHVR couldn't at least attempt to find a sound-alike? The new voice is too gruff and has, like, no personality. He was my favorite survivor to play as before, but this new voice sucks so hard it makes me not want to play as him. The old one sounded like he was actually panicked when he was hit, hooked, or injured. Now he just sounds like a caveman who smokes two packs a day.
I know they aren't going to change it. Felt the need to say something anyway. Sucks that it had to happen to my fav character. I know he's not popular but he does have players who like him and we deserve better than "Jonah hurt. Jonah no like."
This is not the hill you want to die on mate.

Honestly, I think your problem is more about playing solo-Q than about survivor in general.
Speaking as a killer main, there's a vast difference between playing against coordinated SWFs and solo players. I've been playing since 2017, and medkits have ALWAYS been the strongest item in the game.
The nerfs were necessary. Medkits are still very strong, but now you can't get 4 heals plus a syringe out of them. There are other good ways to heal. If you're a solo player, I strongly suggest the perk Bond to find people to heal you. You can thank me later.
Which medkit let you get 64 charges with one addon and a syringe?

I couldn't agree more. What were they thinking?
*circus music plays softly in the background*
-
Yeah I played against it a couple of times this morning. The 2 stacks is a little overkill. Being able to put someone into a mori state at 5 gens from just spamming your power is Skull Merchant tier design failure
-
Genrushing is when a killer overcommits a chase and doesnt apply map pressure to the rest of the survivors so they can just sit on gens with no punishment.

Why that survivor gets downed in a deadzone then gets hit off the hook and downed while still being in the range of the same hook?
If you make a play that bad killer deserves to get an advantage on that, there's nothing wrong about it.

So, the killer isn't camping a 3-gen
Survivor gets downed in a deadzone
And then he gets unhooked
I see no problem here and no reason to punish killer for survivor's mistake of going down in a deadzone
It's the same hook. The gens didnt walk off by themselves. The killer finds a good set up and sits there, as soon as a survivor walks in they get chased and downed in the deadzone. They then get tunnelled off the hook and set into the same deadzone, then again until they die. The survivors are unable to alleviate pressure from the killer because they have no reason to leave the area or gens. It promotes boring and stagnant gameplay.

So, after the anti-camping mechanic goes live, there's no reason for hook breaking to stay
You can still just hook someone in a deadzone, walk away then constantly force a trade. Its low risk high reward.
-
The reason hooks break is so you cant just camp a 3 gen in a deadzone and constantly have a survivor in the same place.
-
Please no its so laggy, I'm sick of getting hit over pallets and windows and getting hit by things i can drive a bus through
-
Because fun killers to play as and against are simple killers with dashes that give survivors that chance for skill expression.
Anything that forces no win situations on either side is unfun to play as or against.
-
The whole point is that it is a low risk high reward strategy which in higher levels of gameplay is going to be taken advantage of. Its up to the devs to fix. You cant expect the community of a game to adhere to house rules. You cant blame people for using the strongest strat, regardless of how scummy it is.
“Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game”; therefore, “One of the responsibilities of designers is to protect the player from themselves.”
-
Only if we can get an Amber heard skin for Hag.
-
No since you left, Survivors have started tunnelling killers out of the game. We're not sure who started it or how they're even doing it. Help, come back!!

Gotta keep pumping out those Feng skins
Feng stonks are up baby. Actually us feng players havent had a nice equal attention skin in a while. I mean, we know we're amazing. It'd just be nice if the devs confirmed it.

Yeah look fair counterpoint. But you had to dh for distance because using it for i frames didnt work 90% of the time

I'm honestly having the least amount of fun I've had since the introduction of the SBMM system where you just couldnt lose as survivor. Now its on the other end of the scale and im just as miserable. I pick it up, play a couple, someone gets forced out at 3 or 4 gens and the game is over. Rinse and repeat for the next 10 games, get mad and stop playing for a week.
Whole game is decided in the first 90 seconds of the trial. If two people dont spawn on gens then first chase doesnt last long enough for people to recover. While it may be cognitive bias as I can only speak for myself, I'm just not having fun like I used to.
Game feels clunky and stunted, skill expression is at an all time low.

No offense, but at which arbitarily chosen generator count is killer allowed to chase survivors?
That's a disingenuous argument and you know it. Your hyperbole just shows you're incapable of having a productive discussion about the health of the game.
It is too easy to use cheap tactics to win as killer. Hooking someone in a deadzone and proxying camping them hitting them off hook and chasing them down for a free down is incredibly easy to do.
Lets not pretend its not happening. I run deli, dh, otr and DS and I can still be tunneled out of a game in less than 5 gens. Thats insane. I've got 4 perks to counter being tunneled and theres just nothing you can do if the killer wants you out of the game.
you turn a game into a 3v1 before 3 gens are done and its gg. That's counter intuitive to skill expression. Thats just ungabunga.
-
all rebeccas do is pre drop miss skill check and die👍️
-
Im not a fan of these forced shake ups by nerfing meta perks so hard they become practically unusable compared to the next best thing. The window for skill expression keeps narrowing and making the game super clunky.

Jesus. I know you are completely biased twoards survivor in every way but people wanting people to not leave games early isn't entitlement.
You clearly have never played another multiplayer game in your life if this is the way you think. I'm just disappointed you feel this way and so many people agree with you, it's gross.
The last line you said basically makes everyone thing you say irrelevant to any conversation, you don't want to play a real game, you want to pick and choose. I'd recommend uninstalling if this is the way you feel.
Na this is just hard forum copium in crystal form. I'm a super biased solo queue main and survivors DCing ruins the game for everyone. It's not even a two way street. Killer DCs and the game is over, Survivor DCs and we're in a 10 minute slugfest or a 15 minute farmfest. Both are terrible.

Lol.
I'm happy to report that I win most of my Knight games by aggressively pressuring survivors instead of holding a 3-gen and waiting for them to die of old age.

Thanks!
I think a big part of why people don't like going against Knight is that he's such a rare killer to come across that most people don't have enough experience against him to know how to counter him.
I'll be honest, I dont love going against it. I just don't enjoy the whole run in a straight line, bait the loop for power then move to the next one. I don't love going against artist for the same reason. Like I'll have a grumble about it when I load in but I wont DC. Personally I like to play the loop with the killer and the challenge is in the mind games.
I also think content creators haven't helped with this, People get the mentality that every knight game is going to be a 45 minute wade through the trenches trying to break a 3 gen that was held from the start of the game. Doesn't excuses ruining the game for 4 other people though.
-
To be fair you're absolutely cracked on knight. I play against you alot on OCE. Yeah that sucks but.
-
Mate if anyone could fix the parity between mouse movement and a thumbstick without gimping the mouse movement they'd be bajillionaires

What?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3438112#Comment_3438112
If in 30 seconds they get 2 gens done, enjoy the tunneling, the camping and the slug. Survivors don't seem to play to make the killer have fun, I don't see why I have to play to make survs have fun. You hate kills when the killers get kills done, how killers are supposed to please the entity? If you have a problem with slug, run Unbreakable, No mither, Exponential (I don't remember if exponential it's the boon with unbreakable). I don't think that you face killers that slug every game, like I don't believe people who say they meets 3gen killers every game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3438273#Comment_3438273
So why survivors complain about tunneling, camping and slugging? I'm simply doing my job. My job as a killer is to kill you, so if I tunnel you, if I camp you, if I slug you, I'm simply doing my job.
People will complain about the sky being too blue mate. Survivors arent all one person.
-
@Dark_Alex said:

Then what should the killer do? Kill everyone or as many as you can. What better way to do this than tunneling or camping? Practically same logic.
(In case you haven't noticed, "letting survivors have fun" is not a category. You don't get paid for this, so appreciate those who let you have fun and don't blame others who just do their job in the most efficient way.)
You didnt answer the question though. Killers are supposed to kill yeah. I don't care about slugging or tunneling unless its someone watching 4 people bleed out for the lols. If thats how you wanna play then go for your life. I'm talking about gen rushing. Theres no turbo boost gen button. Gen rushing is just you saying you dont understand how pressure works. If you no brain yourself into a 2 minute chase then have 3 gens pop thats on you.
-
Yeah you were dreamin mate.
-
@illNicola said:
Also genrush makes me (and many other killers) want to quit this game, yet I don't think people complain about it as much as slugging, camping and tunneling...
What is genrushing? What are survivors supposed to do? Get off the gen and stand there until you have an established lead then try? Like what are you even saying? Is genrushing the nice way of saying "I cant put out enough map pressure to counter my ego of not dropping chase"

We try to make as little changes as possible, unfortunately there might be things that do not fit with that character but the overall design is fine...so then we're faced with excluding a whole design instead of just a portion of it. And these changes are run by person who's done the design first.
What like sticking claudette in a thong?
-
WHAT?!?
-
I swear sometimes we're playing different games. I've got like 3000 odd hours and I can count the negative interactions I've had on both sides with one hand. My end game chats are usually just ggwp or someone saying they got juiced well by someone or something.
-
Hook grabs are fine, Its the blocking after the grab when you're clearly right next to the person. If two people commit to a save and one gets grabbed you might as well call it gg.
-
I'm ok with it but they need to fix the gen exploding when you let go, with dead mans/pain rez you can basically delete an entire gen if someone lets go and a skillcheck blows the gen up.
-

10 extra seconds on every gen, adding up to 50 extra seconds minimum.
Overcharge, Call of Brine and Eruption were literally the closest we've seen to an uncounterable meta.
DS was killed off, OTR doesn't stack with BT. If you get hit off of hook, it does nothing for you.
DH got heavily nerfed in that patch. No more DH for distance, no more OP DH.
This patch enabled ANY Killer to hold an unbreakable 3-gen even if they played horribly.
Oh, and they nerfed Survivors Sprint Burst after being hit, decreased the Killer's time to recover after a Basic Attack, sped up pallet breaking speeds etc etc
That and the knowledge creep over the last 7 years or so. I can't remember the last time I pulled off a cj or a dumb tech. Every one knows the mind games, Every TL is a 50-50.
I play killer very rarely, so my MMR is probably very low, I "lose" probably 10% of my games and I don't even play hard.
I play ghostface, thats about it. Maybe some spooky myers. The survivors aren't bad, its just when you have even rudimentary knowledge of how the game works its only a matter of time before you down someone.
This is how most of my survivor games go, You pump two gens in the first two hooks and then the killer plays to win (I'm ok with this) Which basically means one mistake on the survivor side and the death spiral begins.
In solo queue if you tunnel someone; everyone will get off gens to try and save that person from being tunneled out early, which then spirals the game further out of control.
With comms people can be a little more efficient, but once you've played survivor long enough you already know what's going to happen anyway.
Its basic pattern recognition, I can watch from a gen see a survivor run into a gym with the killer behind them and I can count down the time before they take a hit. I'm pretty bang on with it as well. When we play for realzys with comms not much gets said beyond what everyone already understands.

I'd also want to dive into what killers do better. There are several I could see doing pretty terrible on it while others would do better.
I got the time, Lets deep dive.
- Trapper: Trapper can close entire rooms and stairways off with traps to secure hook states and completely cut off parts of the map.
- Wraith: Can stealth behind walls and doorways, Much easier to not get light burned. Large deadzones midgame which make hit and run viable
- Hillbilly: ehhh Billy kinda struggles on any indoor map. Though the long hallways can make things alot easier than say lerys
- Nurse: Nurse go brrrrrrrr
- Myers: Great map for his stronger builds and scratched mirror on any indoor map is fun
- Hag: Same as trapper, She excels on maps with Z levels where you can cordon off entire areas, Small hallways make it much easier to have your traps triggered.
- Doctor: Impossible skillcheck build, Static blast can hit nearly the entire map with the right add ons.
- Huntress: Long hallways, Mostly low loops, Transition areas are mostly windows.
- Bubba: Bubba is just mid on every map these days. Could use some love tbh
- Freddy: Never played him, Can't really comment on it. Though i'd say being able to teleport upstairs on a whim is easier than having to walk up the stairs
- Pig: Stealth killers excel on indoor maps, being able to sneak up to someone basically right next to a door is much easier than say ormond.
- Clown: Transition areas are very narrow making bottles much easier to land than other maps. You can also predict where they're going to go based on the layout making bottles much more viable than other maps.
- Spirit: Long hallways make prediction much simpler.
- Legion: It's not their worst map by any stretch, but it's not good either. Getting value out of Frenzy on the map is incredibly difficult because it is sort of larger than it's raw square footage. If you start a Frenzy on the bottom floor and someone is on the 2nd, you can't chain to them. But you can hear them on KI so it's easy to bait yourself into going for Frenzy chains you can't actually get. Added by FFirebrandd
- Plague: Long hallways, Low loops, Condensed areas of fountains
- Ghosty: Indoor map, I love this and lerys on ghostface. Being able to sneak up on people makes his power so much better.
- Demogorgan: I can't really say much, I don;t play him alot. I feel like being able to teleport between z levels gives his secondary the same kind of viability as freddy
- Oni: Long hallways, flickable transition loops. The only downside is the window transitions but if you can predict them you can make the window and hit the survivor in your power before they make the loop.
- Deathslinger: Best map for iri coin.
- Pyramid head: Window transitions, straight paths between pallets and transitions
- Blight: My mans running the hallways like a naughty schoolboy I've also seen some crazy hug techs pulled off there. I can't do it myself though lol
- Twins: Being able to completely cordon off areas. Dowsey gives a really good demonstration as to why twins is strong here.
- Trickster: I can't really comment. I feel like this is a bad map for trickster.
- Nemesis: His zombies excel on indoor maps. Running around a corner being mugged by susan is interesting to say the least. I'd also say that how the pallet set ups work make his power easier than other maps to hit.
- Cenobite: Being able to teleport Z levels, your power excels in tight areas.
- Artist: This map is bad for artist as far as im concerned.
- Sadako: Using the yellow rag add on you can make the entire map blind with TV placements.
- Wesker: Long hallways, Window transitions high travel to return. Means you can vault with the survivor and be on them before they can get back to the window.
- Knight: His power on this map is just obnoxious.
- Snore Merchant: Again, Your power being able to cover two floors is just obnoxious. If you put your power at the top of the stairs survivors will be nearly exposed before they get to the drone.

Does highest kill rate make a map comparably killer sided or objectively killer sided?
In other words, what if all the other maps had a kill rate of 5% hypothetically but Midwhich had a kill rate of 7%. Is Midwhich by your rational still “killer sided” because it has the highest kill rate even though it’s only 7%? Or would this actually mean it’s still survivor sided but it is simply comparably better than the other ones?
My point being that just because a map has the highest kill rate doesn’t make it objectively killer sided, just simply better than the other maps.
Yes.. it is comparably better than the other ones. Thats my entire point. I'm not whining about it being better for killers. Coldwind farms exists Badham preschool exists, You could even argue the rework of eyrie of crows is still strongly favoured towards survivor. There should be maps that play better for one side than the other.
Also technically yes. If midwich had a 7% kill rate (last time I saw it was 66%) and every other map had 5% midwich would be better for killers to play on than any other.
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
New hook logic there? Nah, they never talked about it in any recent patch notes. This map has still terrible hook logic out of any map by mile, usualy towards Survivors (1 hook for one whole section of 2nd floor, etc.)
Pretty sure it was when they changed the hook placements when there were hooks spawning backwards and one upstairs that was being blocked by a table.
-
@Xernoton said:
This isn't new. Hook spawn logic on Midwich is completely ridiculous and it has been this way for quite a while. Not saying, this is ok though. It definitely shouldn't happen.
Please BVHR, fix this issue.
Yeah fair, I've been gone a little while. New for me would've been better phrasing.
-
I don't see how I'm wrong. It has the highest killrate of any map.
-
You're mixing up what you heard. The idea is green is better with a battery and the filament thing rather than 2 batteries while the purple is better with two batteries rather than a filament.
