If you're making no effort to save a slugged or hooked teammate then I'm 100% doing everything in my power to ensure you die. I'll let them go instead. At least they tried to be a good teammate.
-
Because I want to play the other 20+ killers too and not just the same one over and over.
-
Breakable doors just shouldn't be a thing.
Going through pallets would be an interesting change but she'd need a much longer demainfest to compensate. I don't know how balanced that would be.
-
Hide within x meters of the killer for x amount of time. It literally is a challenge that rewards you for doing nothing.
-
The best way to use it is take it off and use a meta perk instead but I understand the appeal. It's a perk that's fun to use but ultimately isn't particularly useful.
-
She's about as strong as Ghostface or Trapper and relies entirely on a dead completley unviable playstyle. In other words she's awful. Get used to not seeing her.
-
If you mean the scourge hook it's really not that great. If you have one person get unhooked when chasing another that only tells you where one more person is and where the unhooker is heading. And it only affects 4 completely rng based hooks that you may or may not get any use from.
-
If they do nerf it let's be honest here. They'll probably just add 5% to the cooldown then nerf twins add ons to compensate.
-
Hag is definitely not even close to that high.
First they're totems which means you're entirely at the mercy of RNG for both maps and individual spawns.
Second ruin only helps if you can keep them off the gens. If you can't for whatever reason you may as well have nothing.
Third devour hope IF you can get enough tokens to benefit from in the first place it tells them you have it making it much more likely to be lost.
Fourth Third seal is garbage. Not only is the effect pretty weak to begin with but it's entirely irrelevant if the survivors are on coms. Even if it wasn't a totem it would still be worthless.
-
It's garbage but still sees heavy use. If its still seeing heavy use there's no reason to buff it.
-
No more dead hard. That's all.
-
Remove the god windows in house of pain.
Hook in the school guaranteed if basement isn't there.
Only one window downstairs and one upstairs in the two storey house.
Remove all double pallets. Across all maps not just on Springwood.

If I see Corrupt at the beginning of the game, I hide in a corner until it finishes to counter this exactly. If everyone does that, then it offers no benefit to the killer at all unless they were running Lethal. I thought that was the proper way to counter it.
If nobody is on gens for 2 minutes that's the most value it's possible for the killer to get. That doesn't counter it at all it literally plays into the killers hands!
What you should be doing is pushing to the far side of the map from the corrupt zone if not being chased and if you are being chased get the killer to chase you into the corrupt zone so he's not pressuring the gens.
-
I think a good solution would be if the killer saw potential totem locations at the beginning of the game and instead of his/her hex being there right from the start they had the ability to place any or all of the totems wherever they liked.
The first totem placed would correlate to the perk in slot one if it was a hex the second would be perk slot two and so on. Hexes only activate once the totem was placed.
If not done within a certain time frame then they spawn normally. That way killers couldn't permanently block boons and prevent all pre egc noed searching but survivors couldn't spawn on a totem and immediately cleanse/boon it.
-
Map offerings are a relic that should be removed and forgotten. They're only used to tilt the gameplay to one side or to avoid going to the same map over and over.
The former is unnecessary and the latter can be done much better if BHVR tried.

It's pretty balanced now. I don't feel like any nerfs are needed. It takes so much time finding totems, then blessing them and healing. Killer can snuff them super quickly as well. Boons are supposed to be strong.
Killers being able to snuff quickly is such a stupid argument even if we ignore the fact that they can be infinitely relit.
Let's do the math shall we? Claudette Meg Dwight and Jake are the survivors and the killer is Trapper.
Trapper takes 5 seconds out of his intentional route to snuff a boon. The act of snuffing also takes 2 seconds bringing it to a total of 7.
Meg is not being chased for those 7 seconds. Claudette is not being pressured for those 7 seconds. Nothing is preventing Jake from healing for those 7 seconds. And Dwight knows you saw his boon and is busy rekindling it elsewhere with no threat.
There is 4 survivors in the game and each now gain 7 seconds. 7x4=28. Survivors gain 28 seconds even WITHOUT actually healing with the totem.

Huh? Eyrie of crows isnt a survivor sided map. I think devs made the right decision by buffing it. As you said, those rock pallets were way too unsafe. Survs need stronger maps especially nowadays when anti loop killers are so popular.
Not survivor sided? Are you insane? Safe pallets at every turn, the worst totem spawns in DbD history (including the crotus Penn middle of an open field totem as at least that wasn't right next to a generator) very bright and east to see every direction, No clustered gens, A borderline godlike main building and now even the one dead zone is gone? That map is almost as bad as Haddonfield for many killers and if you have the misfortune to play Trapper it's the absolute worst map. And considering how bad Trapper is on a lot of maps that's really saying something.
-
It took you all that working out just to establish that +25% of a few seconds is still no time at all..?
-
Definitely not. The only things that I'd change is having a minimum distance between scourge hooks and scourge hooks don't break when someone dies on one.
-
Yeah BHVR if you could please disable it again? Permanently this time I think many of us would appreciate it. Also I like the version of Haddonfield in the game right now. Let us keep that one.
-
@pseudechis said:
I like Haddonfield.
They just need to break up some long fences and hedges and remove staircase straight into window house iterations really.
Also the garage safe pallet.
As has been said its also one of my favourite trapper maps because all those long barriers become death traps rather than chase extenders.
And the house of pain and the multiple god windows in every house and the gens all being upstairs creating a huge timesink for any killer not called nurse and the rng of pallet into window into pallet and the totem spawns and probably 50 other things if I put my mind to thinking about it properly.
-
Most of his add ons suck the only really useful ones are the cooldown ones and even then that's only becausehis cooldownis insanely long fir how hit and miss his power is. All others either come with a huge downside like Ghostface caught on camera or just aren't actually very helpful to begin with like outdoor security camera.
What makes this worse is that those add ons were recently nerfed due to overuse making him even weaker.

Artist will eventually have a balance pass, no idea how much they'll change for better or worse but I suspect they'll make changes for her maybe in March or June? 🤷♂️
They also at some point mentioned they were working on Legion but gave no details. It's been a few months since then so Legion's update could be any time maybe.
I guess if you like Deathslinger you could try Huntress? She doesn't have Deathslinger's annoyingly slow turning speed while aiming, and her hatchets always do damage on a hit whereas Deathslinger sometimes doesn't get a down if he hits from across a pallet.
Artist will be nerfed into the ground because people have been using their "unfun" trump card.
-
You think that's bad? Wait until you're playing Midwich and don't have any hooks in the entire corridor you're in or anywhere nearby. At least on Lerys it's the maze like nature of the map just as much as bad rng.
-
A big thing that needs to change is STOP PUTTING TOTEMS OUT IN BLATANTLY OBVIOUS PLACES!!!! The new map for instance does not have a single totem spawn that is even slightly hidden from anyone possessing a pair of eyeballs.
What I'd like is at the start the killer can see all the POSSIBLE totem spawns but no totems actually spawn or take effect until 2 minutes into the game and the killer can select one for their hex perks. When a totem is chosen that perk immediately starts to perform whatever its purpose is.
This would also be a small nerf to the broken bs that is CoH as survivors wouldn't be able to break a killer totem straight away or place a boon in that time.

Thing is, DBD is mainly balancing around fun. Aka, if the post-game match wasnt fun, and the common denominator of that lack of fun was a single perk, killer or addon, they try to change it to be more fun.
Lets say if Alchemist Ring matches on average recieve a 2.5/5 rating, it's not considered an issue, even if it's killrate is higher than average.
Common denomination of killers not having fun are CoH and dead hard. Notice that neither is getting nerfed yet?
-
Same reason stale biscuit is getting nerfed. Behavior are obsessed with their stats and no amount of player feedback will convince them that they should be buffing the garbage and nerfing the blatantly op when the use rates are much easier.
-
Highest skill ceiling.
Lowest kill rate.
Self explanatory.
-
No. In its current condition DS is useful when needed but isn't easy to get carried by. That's exactly what every perk should be aiming to be. DS is in a perfect place.
-
Regardless of how overexaggerated or not the nerfs are the devs themselves said when they were announced that Billy was in a good spot so these nerfs were 100% unnecessary and in no way should have gone live.

Not necessarily accurate. Good survivors manage their exhaustion and 99 their sprint burst, which is why I also am in the camp of killer mains will get more mad at SB than they ever did with DH.
Yeah the best survivors do. But the best survivors will also have 2 gens done before you can even hook your first survivor so that doesn't change anything. And that micro management is far more skill than dead hard requires.

You can use SB on the middle of a chase. I do. It's not 100% of the time, but if you manage well your exhaustion timer and walk from time to time during a chase, it works.
I also rarely save SB. I run everytime I need to, to reach a gen, a hook, etc. SB is pretty good if you know how to manage it. Plus, use Fixated and Vigil and you have the infinite SB build (that I don't use tho, as I don't like having half my build to serve one perk). Even without Fixated and Vigil, it's still OK to manage it.
DH is more reliable in a sense, because you can save it until you decide to press the button. But SB is way more fun IMO (and probably less unfair from the Killer's POV).
You hit the nail on the head with your first paragraph. "It's not 100%" that alone makes playing against sprint burst infinitely more fun and fair than catching up just to lose all that distance to a single button press.
-
Sprint burst isn't a problem at all. You don't get sprint burst mid chase. You don't get to sprint burst without saving it for the right moment. You don't get to erase a mistake with every sprint burst. You can't greed every single pallet and window with sprint burst without even having it. You can't keep sprint burst hidden until you need it.
You have sprint burst you use it, make distance and that's it. If you make a mistake or the killer has some way to catch up quickly you don't get anything.

this has about as much relevance to the topic at hand as me plugging a fancam here... anyway stream
It's pretty simple. I had nothing better to do than post on the forums. So I posted on the forums. That doesn't suddenly mean I care about the sexuality of fictional characters it just means I was looking to pass the time.

The Honda Accord is the most common car in America. I guess that means it's OP also. Much better than a Lamborghini.
That has got to be the stupidest metaphor I have ever seen. In what world do cars need to be balanced or have any relevance to Dead by daylight or any other games perks?

There is so many threads about Dead Hard needing a nerf yet not a single one has shown up showing actual Data on Dead Hard extending chases more than the other exhaustion perks.
I would actually love to see someone take the time and compare all the exhaustion perks and write down chase times each one gives you. All you have to do is run the exact same course and use each perk to see how long of a chase you get.
You can easily compare Lithe, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard and Overcome by just running a route that includes a window.
Okay here's some data:
My last 3 games.
1 sprint burst.
1 Lithe.
0 balanced landing.
0 smash hit.
0 overcome.
0 head on.
1 exhaustion perk free.
Take a guess what the others all had? Think that's coincidence?

There are many people who care. And rightfully so, because why not?
we have some heterosexual relationships mentioned in lore, some are integral, some are not (legion for example didn’t need any sexual tension between Frank and Julie, David didn’t need to have a girlfriend mentioned etc)
read this on why representation does matter in media:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/293467/why-representation-in-media-matters
and if you don’t care. That’s great. Really. But let others care without judging them.
Remind me. At which part of this game can you start a romance with the Spirit? Who is it that gets that special dialogue option with Dwight? How many characters can marry Kate? And is it weird that my Michael wants to propose to Laurie instead of kill her?
Oh yeah.
None of those things can happen.
Ever.
Because relationships in this game don't matter.

From a killer's perspective I can understand the frustration.
However, from a survivor perspective (and game design perspective), it's probably one of the most well designed perks in the game. The most fun in the game for survivors is looping. This perk gives survivors another option in chases and makes the chase even more interactive for survivors. It makes chases a lot more fun for survivors because they now have an opportunity to outplay killers. I would be honestly amazed if the developers removed or changed Dead Hard, just because of how much it adds to the survivor side.
That's a terrible excuse not to change it. First of all there is nothing remotely balanced about dead hard. I also fail to see anything fun in using it. When I did use it I simply felt like the game was holding my hand because it requires no skill or thinking to press a button to gain distance free of charge.
Secondly if 80% of the lobby really enjoys using a "fun" glitch should that glitch not be patched? How is a broken perk that can literally decide the outcome of a game on its own any different? You have plenty of methods to outplay killers pressing E is not outplaying anyone.
-
Who cares? Unless it's an integral part of their backstory (Legion for example) I don't know or want to know about killers relationships. If it were an RPG I'd care.
-

Also if I am killer and catch wind you are trying to do this to your teammates and clearly just want to give up and die to avoid DC penalty, I will bleed you out to ensure you have to waste time waiting. If you're going to ruin your teams game I may as well ensure you either eat the 5 minute penalty or sit on the ground for a while. I had a Feng once just give up trying to kill herself and start playing normally again because of it.
Same. I make a point of not hooking the people who are giving up unless I really need the hook for whatever reason.
-
If I hear or see a boon I'm not gonna slug anyone at any point. I'd assume most other killers think the same way.
-
Your nerf suggestion would almost kill her outright. She'd be a weaker Nemesis.
She's very strong as she is.
And that is a good thing.
No nerfs needed.
-
Yeah it's fine. Not at all broken to get completely outplayed but be able to make it to safety because you pressed a single button. Even before validation it was a bs perk now it's even more so.
-
There's 4 extra faces and the only remotely recognisable one in game is Claudette. Removing it just because it's a black face would be more racist because it'd be treating the black character differently.

Dead Hard is 100% fine until they remove BloodLust. BL needs to go in my opinion.
I'd happily take this trade in an instant if it means no more dead hard for distance. But first maps like Haddonfield would need a hard rework so that you can't just run from window to window forever. Although that's a separate issue.

I can understand your frustration with the map. Tbh I was just baiting.
I hope they rework the map soon. it’ll probably not play much different though
Just closing most of the god windows would be a huge improvement. Nobody needs multiple windows as strong as the one next to the basement in every single house! 1 window per building max and remove the house of pain.
-
Other than dead hard which is long overdue a nerf I disagree. Smash hit could do with a buff and the rest are fine as is.

Not at all. If you like it knock yourself out but I and many others hate Haddonfield and would be happy to see it removed.
