  • Allow me to introduce you to Garden of misery. A.k.a by far the worst map ever introduced in any game that has ever existed.

  • Was completely on board until you bought up bare feet 🤢

  • Just imagine 2 skull merchants with 2 different 3 gens... 🥶

  • Demogorgon lifeguard whistle. You're welcome.

  • Trickster: make him less obnoxious to play. Recoil on knives is stupid and there's no reason for him to be as slow as Huntress until he pulls up a knife.

Skull merchant: absolutely nothing. No fix, no rework, nothing. The only killer I don't own and never will.

Freddy: make his power more effective. Maybe give him both pallets and snares as basekit and let him swap between them like Clown does with bottles.

Hag: make her better in chase and weaker at camping.

Twins: in the very least the coololdown after a successful down with Victor needs to go. In addition make taking Victor hostage far more punishing. Maybe having him on you for too long (when not in chase) should cause permanent debuffs? Or maybe he there should be skill checks as soon as he pounces you that get harder and more frequent as time goes on and failing one results in you going down.

  • I'd sooner see both boosted maps and map offerings get permanently removed. Imagine if some godawful hell hole like garden of misery gets boosted? 🤢

Lets face it BHVRs record with new maps has hardly been good in the last few years even if Nostromo is a significant improvement.

  • Her perks are pretty mediocre but more importantly she herself does not look like Ripley or sound like Ripley in the slightest so unless you're dead set on getting every survivor or all the achievements I wouldn't get her at all!

  • I have every faith that BHVR will completely and utterly screw this up so badly it makes Colonial marines look good. Unfortunately as Alien/Aliens are tied for my favourite movie and as a massive Alien nerd this might be enough to bring me back to DbD no matter how much I currently hate the game.

  • Don't know what they'll do but I'd put money on one of them being called perfect organism (assuming that isn't the name of the power) and one of the survivor perks being the only way to be sure.

  • I'd like to be excited but with BHVRs recent track record I expect A Ripley who looks nothing like Ripley and a Xenomorph so dull and weak that even Skull merchant looks good.

  • Even when ruin was good running it with corrupt intervention was just a good way to lose two perks right away.

Now ruin is a really bad perk and the above is still true.

  • Skull Merchant's power is atrocious.

    Fixed that for you.

  • It's absolute garbage. It's a perk that will usually only give you about 10 seconds of value (assuming the 3 seconds distance are used optimally) and only under specific circumstances. Namely being tunneled.

  • She's truly horrible to play against. The reasons why should be blatantly obvious even without all the other posts in this thread explaining why so I'm not gonna bother elaborating.

Her design is also horrible. It's a Kardasian with a weird mask. That's all.

As for playing her? Her entire power does precisely nothing (bar zoneing) unless the survivors actively choose to interact with it. They don't stand in the drone area? No exposed. They don't approach your drones? No benefit from undetectable. They don't hack drones? No haste boost. Your entire power is to bore them into going into the area you want them to enter. Every part of her basekit is badly designed and reeks of laziness. Her add ons have some potential but when tied to a power so pitiful they lose any redeeming qualities they might have had.

That I would say is more of an issue with the user not the achievement. I want to get the achievement but I'm content in just letting it happen. I don't force it with map offerings or screwing team mates over.

Agreed its a user issue but if devs would stop including these types of achievement and instead include achievements that reward and promote teamwork and interesting mechanics instead of pointless grinding there would be no issue.

It's still a worthless number that has no effect on your life outside of the videogame. I'm not saying this to disparage anybody but to rather bring it into perspective. Having a PvP rating is an acheivement on the same level as getting all the acheivements in DbD. It doesn't make either better than the other and neither do anything for the person accomplishing it than a sense of personal satisfaction. The exact same reason why some people chase acheivements is the same reason why people chase PvP rankings and neither should look down on the other; unless you're a content creator or your job is esports having an MMR ranking (visible or not) or having all acheivements in a game does nothing for you except for any personal satisfaction that you derive and, quite frankly, it's something that nobody outside of the video game cares about (and many in the video game don't care about).

If you're going to call getting acheivements in a game worthless then, by the same criteria, any rating in a PvP game is worthless. It only shows how that individual likes to be entertained and nothing else.

TL;DR: A PvP acheivement in a video game is not more real or worth more than doing acheivements on Steam as an example. Don't be an elitist and act like your version of entertainment is somehow better than another person's form of entertainment.

I don't see how thinking a number that shows you're the best in the world at a game is more valuable than a number that shows you bought a game that gives you a number for pressing a single button many times in specific circumstances is in any way elitist but this is completely off topic at this point anyway so I'm going to discontinue this.

If you want to debate it though I'm happy to continue in a separate topic.

  • I know. I'm one of them (or was until they reworked it) but that doesn't automatically mean that the map is suddenly popular does it?

  • @TheSubstitute said:

Didn't you just describe every PvP video game (especially ones that show their ranking) that ever existed?

Nor exactly. See if you're playing a game that shows your skill based rank that's you saying "yeah I'M that good and you better be prepared for someone of my caliber". That's an accomplishment.

In the case of something like DbDs visual ranks its more of a "I'm this experienced" doesn't prove you're good. Doesn't mean you're bad. Not so much of an accomplishment but it shows you are experienced.

Now in game achievements on the other hand? For every LASO there's a press start at the main menu "achievement". For every finish with a perfect score there's a die once "achievement" and more specifically where DbD is concerned for every master X killer/survivors adept achievement there's a ruin the game for the other players achievement.

Might be meaningless to you but if it brings joy to someone else so be it.

We're it that straightforward I'd agree with you. But the problem lies when those achievements are simply not fun to achieve. Going for the RPD achievement encourages sending yourself and 4 others to a highly unpopular map (that the achievement hunter very likely also dislikes thus ruining the match for themselves also) then potentially screwing over your entire team for a miniscule amount of happiness.

I like the concept of achievements when they are actual achievements. When it's just grind menial task and feel frustrated while doing so those achievements should be changed or removed.

  • Step 1. Play a different game.

Step 2. Repeat step 1 indefinitely

  • RPD gets offered up a lot because of that one achievement. No idea why people would willingly try to do that for a meaningless icon and a small increase to a worthless number but there it is.

Blight’s addons, BNPs, and the strongest toolboxes should be next in line for nerfs. A few of Spirit’s addons should be nerfed too (and a couple need buffs such as Mother’s Glasses). Not putting Skull Merchant here as she really just needs a total rework, not a nerf.

As for buffs, maps (the item) could use some attention, along with PH’s addons and Billy’s worst addons, just to name a few. Another specific one that bothers me is why does Demo’s green Undetectable addon only give 0.5 seconds when the purple one is 3 seconds?

I agree with all of this but I'd also add:

Trappers add on that let's him walk through traps as basekit and change the add on so that traps are no longer disarmed when he does it.

Stake out good skill checks do not apply the effects of perks that require great skill checks. The great check itself MUST be hit.

Made for this. Speed boost causes exhaustion and ends if the survivor vaults anything.

  • None whatsoever. There's literally nothing to make grinding any character past P3 to unlock their perks worthwhile and as for the two you chose? P0 level 1 is more grinding than skull merchant is worth.

Use shadow step, it will really mess him up, until he finds it and snuffs it, just pray he dont find you first, sadly he is the only one that can counter distortion fully since never no TR and also for the ones who say he have no lunge, every myers I know who use scratch myers always uses that brown add on to give him 50% lunge increase so I dont think his lunge would be off by much.

Boyfriends memo adds 50%. +50% of 0.2 is still just barely over half the distance of literally every single other lunge on every other killer so even with it he still has no lunge.

  • Here's a better idea. Nerf it again even harder this time so that those who are still clinging to it like Bubba does his basement hooks are left with no alternative than to accept its finally a dead perk and that's how it should remain.

Tbh let's not pretend like Erupting OverBrine wasn't in the game for 8 months straight. Like they have a glacial reaction time, but that glacial reaction time isn't biased towards one side, they're just slow to act on any and everything.

Not that you're wrong but that was nerfed in 8 months. Dead Hard lasted years and object of obsession which was one of the most broken perks they've ever came up with wasn't exactly fast tracked for changes.

  • Never watched much of Puppers but I know all about him and his ALS. This is awful news. I hope his final days are easy on him.

  • This just demonstrates that A. Corrupt should affect the gens closest to the survivors and not furthest from the killer and B. BNP should never have made it past concept.

  • I hate to break this to you but David being gay was literally nothing but virtue signalling. Even if they do bother to acknowledge it again it'll be the bare minimum.

  • Going back to old dead hard would be the final nail in the coffin for many people. The death of that brain dead bs perk is the best change BHVRs ever made!

  • Is sprint burst is actually giving you trouble and you're not just exaggerating...

    Fearmonger. That is all.

I agree with it being good, but being good for long is not a good reason to nerf, it got nerfed cause it was overused, not overpowered, sprint burst is better, just not that fun. As I replied above to another comment, after the nerf I've been using SB, self-aware, vigil & windows. I win more games and my looping is longer (majority of the times 4+ gens), it's just not that chill and fun, can't really explain why. Before the nerf I died more often and got downed earlier cause I was too reliant on it and it didn't work majority of the times, but winning more doesn't always equal more fun I guess. If you don't understand where I'm coming from, that's fine, thanks for reading & thank you for your input.

Edit: What I mean with SB being less fun even though it's winning me more games is that, the dopamine from hitting an insane DH timing after several FOV techs and being called out for auto DH, was higher than looping longer and more successfully with SB. 😂

It was both overused and overpowered. The original version was way more overpowered than the 2022 version but that doesn't make either of them fun or interactive. There's nothing exiting about catching up with a survivor then having to wait several seconds to see if they have a get out of jail free card.

  • @mania_ said:

Do you guys not understand that dead hard is the weakest exhaustion perk now. If you get tunneled (very high chance), you will be hit immediately off hook putting you in deep wound. You won't have any time to mend to even get a use out of dead hard. Let's say you did and you get hooked again. Now the killer knows you have it and it takes a simple mind game to bait it. Essentially dead hard is a one time use perk and is basically a way weaker overcome. If you truly believe in what you just stated you'll realize overcome is way better than a 2 attempts perk when previously overcome was very underutilized since it's nerf. Just because you can't bait dead hard properly it doesn't mean it's that much of a problematic perk to basically nerf it to the ground.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3405807#Comment_3405807

Everyone understands that. Do you not understand that for many of us that's exactly what we wanted to see last year! A proper nerf that pushes it firmly and decisively out of the meta never to return!

If its usage hits 0% I'll be satisfied. Until then they can't nerf it enough for my liking.

  • No but it should have some use aside from just boon countering. Maybe the ability to turn a dull totem into a hex.

I don't really know since even as a camp perk its mediocre. If the effect of adding was good enough i could see more people use it for stealth builds than as a camp tool. I don't really know. Like sure insidious bubba and stuff but then i could see billys using it with silent saw. Huntress for wooden fox build. Wesker for stealth wesker. Demo for stealth demo. Ect. But never know i guess.

Of course it's mediocre. It's a bad perk just like about 80% of killer perks. But making it slightly less mediocre won't stop it being used for camping. Only a rework will do that.

  • Absolutely not. If anything they should nerf it even further and bury it completely. That perk has been way too good for way too long and if its even viable enough to see 1% usage that's 1% too much for my liking.

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3405629#Comment_3405629

I mean with this if youd want to get the most benefit from it youd have to be moving as your not gonna get value from something like tinkerer or stealth huntress or stealth demo if your not running around getting the jump on people. Sure you could stand still for the 1st effect but then your getting nothing from your other undetectable perks/addons. But yeah i could see changing its primary like i said in the future.

But it still wouldn't be used for that. It would still be first and foremost used for camping.

  • It doesn't need a secondary effect so much as a completely new primary effect. Any new effects it's given otherwise will just make it a camping perk with extra steps.

  • Reworking some of the awful maps would obviously be more of a balance change than qol but it would be a massive improvement to the quality of the game so it counts imo.

Offering reworks should also be a priority. Map offerings should be either removed or prevent that realm instead of prioritise it and offerings that spawn survivors together or apart should be switched.

  • I'd have agreed with you at one point. I'd even been known to say that habitually intentionally DCing should result in a permanent online ban for the players entire home network! Two things made me drastically reconsider.

Firstly hackers. The single best way to deal with hackers is for every single other player to leave the game immediately. Doesn't matter what game. Doesn't matter what team. If hackers have nobody to play with they won't be able to play at all.

The second is the last few chapters. Garden of misery. Eerie of crows. Literally every single thing about skull merchant. Every single part of these is so far from fun in any sense of the word that I'd actually encourage DCing just on the slightest glimmer of hope that the devs realise just how bad they are.

  • Good. Dead hard has been the definition of ez no skill meta perk since its inception and whatever criticisms I may have for BHVRs track record lately they've finally done what should have been done years ago and nuked it completely out of the meta.

  • Pre original rework dead hard alone was pushing me away from the game. Other things were also contributing but that was the primary one.

After the first dead hard rework I was happy until it made its resurgence. Still it was tolerable in its new form but the maps which have for a long time been bad just got worse and worse. At the time I last played regularly (late December) sheltered woods and Dead dawg alone were the only maps that I looked forward to playing on. Garden of misery and the horrible RPD rework absolutely killed my trust in BHVRs ability to create a balanced map.

After that Knight came to PTB and straight away it was obvious that his power was almost non existent and gave survivors way too much information. His initial buffs did nothing to remedy this and by the time he got some actual meaningful buffs my patience had ran out. I deleted the game and haven't regretted it once.

Then Skull Merchant was released. Needless to say that proved beyond any doubt that I'd made the right choice. At this point I don't see myself ever playing again even unless BHVR actually makes a phenomenal effort and releases an update that fixes all my problems with the game. Even then I doubt I'll ever be invested enough to play for hours at a time again.

  • I think you're getting your perks confused. Furtive chase doesn't do anything of the sort it just swaps your obsession and lowers your terror radius in chase. In other words it's absolutely useless.

  • I don't want the chapter and what little support I had remaining for BHVR died after the mess that was the Knight.

  • It was fair for Nurse. For Artist it was questionable as it essentially deleted her power when done successfully but as she had sniping ability it wasn't too unfair.

For Wraith however? That was complete BS and should have been removed years ago.

  • Robbed. That's what you really get.

  • @Krazzik said:

Iron Will was too strong before but it really didn't need the double nerf. I'd be perfectly fine with it being back to 100% but just don't make it work when you're exhausted, actually makes you think about bringing an exhaustion perk.

I agree with you but my only argument is that since the most common exhaustion perk people use is dead hard which is only useful when the killer knows exactly where you are anyway that would mean Iron will would almost always be active when needed for many players anyway.

  • Step 1. Don't buy her at all.

Step 2. Play any other killer and do every single thing she can do far better than she can do it because unlike her they actually have something in their kit.

Step 3 congratulations you are now (possibly) having fun.

  • Absolutely nothing about this chapter interests me. I already uninstalled and the pile of manure currently in PTB is only justifying that choice.

  • They should scrap the whole PTB and go back to the drawing board. The design is not great but not as bad as some are making out but everything else is garbage.

  • Blindness is already worthless. A swf has communication and isn't affected at all and a non swf can still hard counter it simply by paying attention.

And if they're not paying attention enough to be able to work out where their teammates are hooked by the dirty great bubble that appears on the screen then they're probably not gonna put up much of a fight anyway.

  • Not even close. All the power is in the survivors hands with Knight. They know what he's doing, when he's doing it, and where he's doing it and then they have the flag to completely undo it anyway. (and unless I'm mistaken they didn't remove the entirely unnecessary buffs survivors get from the flag)

Bare minimum for Knight to even be raised out of rock bottom tier is the AI to immediately start chase and attempt to actually cut the survivors off instead of playing follow the leader. Even with both those things he'd still be pretty pathetic.
