  • I'm 50/50 with this one, on the one hand I'd love seeing new music added into the game (one youtuber created a really fine piece for the spirit) but on the other hand it would take away the mistery of what killer it is.

I really appreciate DbD's version of "The Shape Stalks" though.

Because it says movie / series. In my opinion Halloween (1978) is much more important than the entire Saw franchise combined.

The movie/series part could also mean tv series as Stranger Things isn't a movie.

Oh, right, I haven't noticed the "/", I thought it was reffering to movie series in general. I should had figured this out when I saw Stranger Things but I guess I was too tired.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

Halloween (1978) is the best film by a country mile but Saw is the best overall series.

Then why aren't you voting Saw? It's about the entire franchise not only one movie.

You should definitly watch Scream then, the first movie was really good. Dont know if it still works the way it did in the past, since it got parodied a lot meanwhile. However it is still a great Slasher movie .

I will give it a try this Halloween, then, thanks.

  • Pretty hard choice, I love Halloween and Stranger Things and I like all the others except Scream because I haven't seen one single installment of it. But I have to give it to Evil Dead because it is the only one from here that has been constantly good throughout the years (Halloween has had at least a few low points along the line, looking at you The Curse of Micheal Myers and Resurrection) and because it has Ash, Stranger Things is a close 2nd though and has the chance to dethrone Evil Dead if it continues to be solid in the next seasons.

    My top 3 would be:

    1. Evil Dead

    2. Stranger Things

    3. Halloween

Honourable mention: A Nightmare on Elm Street and Saw.

I should be checking out Scream sooner or later.

  • Ghostface.

I know he is from the Scream movies, but here he is an original character, with an original backstory that I really find it intriguing. I'd love to see a movie from Danny Johnson's pov, working at a newspaper, covering Ghostface's murders, ending in a twist where we find that Johnson was actually Ghostface in the 1st place.

Tbh, I'm not a Scream fan, I haven't even watched the movies, but Ghostface is my favourite killer in the game not only because of its iconic mask, but more so because it has the best lore in the game. Change my mind.

  • At this point, nobody really knows, guess we have to wait and see.

  • Tbh, dedicated servers were very smooth for me, there was one time tho, when a Huntress hit me with a hatchet through a wall and in the same match when the Huntress tried to hit me, but she failed (ans she should have at thar distance, m1 btw). Apart from that, I didn't have much problems, the game felt way better than before. I haven't played killer tho.

  • You have We're Gonna Live Forever, my dude.

While I like the dark look and how it helped stealth back in the day, if that is the only reason I don't mind them making all the clothes bright in some way as a tell in darkness. Just give us the old look back. They can make every survivor bathed in fluorescent light for all I care, just make the game look dark and atmospheric again.

Right? My favourite skin is the neon Nea anyway, idc about making survivors more visible, it's all about the game's atmosphere and right now it is lacking because of it being so bright.

  • I couldn't care less about the rank, I've hit rank 1 once (not only once but you get the point), I've got the achievement, it's enough. However, I do care A LOT if I lose a match, more so if my teammates are stoopid (if I play survivor).

However, if they reward you for ranking up every month, you might see me there all the time.

  • The game looked the worst during the Legion chapter, when they updated the engine. They've updated the engine once more and it looks better now than it used to look back in December, but I prefer the low brightness during the old days as well. However, now it's more fair for the killer.

  • No offense, but some of you are talking about balance like DbD is some sort of an esports game. Just have fun and chill, it's a 4v1 asymmetrical game, a.k.a one of the hardest genres to balance and so far DbD has done a pretty good job (I'm not even ironic). Moreover, many of this game's players don't even know what a win is, if you are a killer main and you consider a win only a 4k, then there is your problem right there.

A legacy skin is a limited time skin for the original 3 Killers (And Nurse because she was released close to the end of 2016) that was given as a reward for prestiging Killers before the 2016 deadline for the new Blood-Web.

This is just a cosmetic you can buy on the in-game store, and no, barely anyone uses it because of GhostFaces whole point of stealth, seeing reflective chrome across the map isn't really stealthy...

Jesus, check the skin's collection name, smarty pants. Using the name "legacy" on a cosmetic isn't exclusive to THE legacy skins anymore, the OP didn't even refer to them.

  • @gcardoso said:

Since the killer can now take hatch down , it's impossible for survivors to win 1 on 1.. you guys need to fix this since there's no fun on being the last survivor if you know you cant win . at least make the doors take less to open or bring back old hatch where killer couldnt take hatch .. i'm main killer and i think it's quite unfair for survivors

It isn't supposed to be fair, why does a survivor have to be rewarded if his teammates are sacrificed? Endgame as it is right now is perfect, you have your chance to escape but you don't have a higher chance than the killer to win. Maybe next time don't rely on an hatch escape and do gens. (I'm more of a survivor main btw)

  • As a killer that's how it goes for me:

4k - guaranteed win (doesn't really matter the pip, you killed every survivor, you are the winner)

    3k with a pip - win

    3k with a black pip - draw

    2k with a black pip - draw

Everything from here is a loss, so a 2,58k per match ratio and 44% escape rate seems pretty balanced for me.

  • 1. Supernatural (could be just a paragraph with Sam and Dean, don't care about their monsters).

    2. It

    3. Original

    Heavily against:

ALIEN, it doesn't fit the game, people...

Slightly less artificially delayed gratification. I've already bought all the killers and done the grind to unlock some of the most important teachables, so it's not that I'm opposed to making a commitment.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/675655#Comment_675655

Well, it's long and hard and it's left me sore.

But seriously, my main complaint is the amount of time I have to spend investing in characters that I don't like just to improve the ones I do like. We're talking millions of BP and dozens of hours, at the very least, spent grinding Clown for PGTW, Legion for Discordance, Spirit for Spirit Fury, Nurse for Nurse's Calling...

I don't like or want to play any of those killers. I don't want to be forced to play this game several hours a day, every day, just to kit out one or two decent killers in under a month. At least not when I'm forced to only play ranked matches. That's a long time spent getting rolled by SWF teams with full kits while I struggle with mechanics I don't enjoy on killers with crappy perks and add-ons.

It's just not fun. And that's a shame, because this game can be a lot of fun.

You can still level up those killers without actually playing them. I agree, the grind can be a little too much in this game, but it isn't the worst I've seen, I guess they just wanna keep their players, but they should do something for the new players as well.

  • I really like Ghostface's lore, tbh I like him the most out of his movie counterparts.

  • Besides the bios are there any other pieces of lore I can read for each killer?

  • I'm just like you, I like to play them all, but some stick more than others, my mains are/were (in chronological order):

    1. Wraith maybe my main for the shortest period until I bought a DLC (it was the easiest killer to learn when I was a noob and the survivors at brown ranks weren't that smart anyways).

    2. Hag for a longer period (mainly for her ruin, but I felt in love with her)

    3. Leatherface for a longer period as well, but when I started struggling with him at red ranks I returned to Hag, I really enjoyed playing with him.

    4. Hag and lately Spirit as a backup in case the survivors have flashlights. So my current mains are Hag and Spirit.

I've played lots of Myers and Plague as well, Myers is my favourite slasher (I love Halloween) and Plague because she is fun to play, legit fun, however, they weren't mains so to speak, I used to play them to relax after sweaty Hag/LF matches.

  • I want Halloween skins for Hag, Spirit and Plague.

The face of a ghost, silent to survivors, has flowy robes, makes creepy rustling sounds as the killer, how is this not a ghost again? Except that he can't move through solid matter?

A mask makes a person a ghost? Ok, then, I believe the creators of Scream were nuts when they called him Ghostface instead of Ghost...

Well, Michael is one of the few that 100% was willing to help the Entity do its bidding. Now, because of this, the Entity basically allows Michael to simply go around and do what he does best, with the right add-ons of course but it still counts. So Mike has like, 95% free will because the Entity respects Michael but for that 5% you're completely right, he still has to play by the rules but he can also break them at any point in time.

Interesting, but you are saying one of the few. Which are the other ones? If I recall correctly, only Myers has the ability to kill a survivor without using an offering.

  • Ash x Jane. Hail to the king, baby.

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

Sense we will probably know all about the Stranger Things lore on Thursday I thought it would be good getting this out asap. So, how does the Demogorgon enter the Entitys realm, is it forced, invited, manipulated or, could it actually be a invader in this realm? Is it being controlled by the Entity or does it have almost completely free will like Michael? I have almost zero clue but I'm very interested to hear about your thoughts.

Micheal has free will? Since when? He still has to hook survivors for the Enitity, I wouldn't call that free will.

  • "Swallow this" *throws a pallet and stuns the Demogorgon* - Ashley J. Williams.

  • This chapter's lore kinda bothers me as well, they'd better come up with a good explanation on why the Demogorgon obeys the Entity.

  • @joker7997 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/652432#Comment_652432

    Why? The ghostface seriously?

In a separate note the wiki says the demogorgon is the monster or the beast.

Why? Ghostface is no ghost to begin with, lol, it IS worse as it doesn't even remotely have something in common with the killer himself.

I get it, it is your opinion, you like The Ghost more than The Ghost Face, but it simply doesn't fit the killer. His mask resembles a ghost, I agree, but you could say the same about Myers and the name wouldn't fit at all.

At least "The Ghost Face" is true to the character in some form. Besides

The point is calling him the ghost face was lame. How about the stalker. Or who cares. The ghost>the ghostface

The Ghost is worse than The Ghostface imo.

  • Nurse, Spirit, Demogorgon, Freddy, Hag, Plague, Nea. The rest can be killed easily.

Rather than all, I'll say most for you.

In 2018, It never happened to me. All of these BS hits started happening after the momentum change in 2.5.0.

    Wasn't 2.5.0 Spirit's midchapter update?

  • @Onomo said:

In 2018, you wouldn't have been hit.

Most, if not, ALL complaints about being hit through a window when you have clearly moved out the way are mainly from THIS year(so are the complaints about fidgeting around the ground after being hit through a window after a vault). This is because of the momentum change they made to survivors after vaulting.

If you look back to videos of DBD BEFORE this change, you wouldn't see any of this.

I disagree, when Spirit was released, it was the peak of this problem (at least for me) I kept getting hit 2-3m away from the vault (on the other side).

  • To get teabagged by a Ghostface, obviously.

  • I think they are trying to balance the game as best they can the way it is right now. It's pretty hard to implement something new without unbalancing the game even more than its current state. Also, this is a very busy year for them so we know for sure that we won't have something new gameplaywise for a while.

Don't we have secondary objectives? Cleansing totems? I know you don't care about those, but that's why a killer gets ez kills with noed.

  • 1. I'd suggest you to save your shards for Plague

    2. Hmm, 4k shards?

    3. You can't see blood while phasing as the Spirit

Nope. August is just a rumour started by the community. We have never mentioned anything other than Summer 2019.

My mistake then and from what I've got from the internet, Canada uses astronomical seasons, so most probably it will be September indeed.

  • @Glory said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/631249#Comment_631249

Iirc summer technically runs until roughly September 20th, so dedicated servers could be nearly three weeks after august ends. I also recall someone specifically pointing this out on a forum post made by the devs/community team, so expect it mid-september to be safe

I thought when they announced dedicated servers back in december, they specifically told us they will be released in August.

Also, I don't know how this works in Canada, but in my country, we don't use astronomical seasons, we use meteorogical seasons, meaning, the last day of August is the last day of summer.

Devs promised we wouldn’t have to pay for unlicensed killers yet we still have to. I understand people are really sensitive about their legacy skins. It’s a rare cosmetic. I’m just giving and idea. More prestige’s would extend the grind for people. Plus a white colorway of legacy skin would be cool to grind for. People would still have there Original Legacy and still show people they have been around since 2016. And everyone can grind past P3 with their favorite survivors/killers.

You don't have to pay for unlicensed killer, you can buy them woth shards in the in-game store.

  • Every way to get shards easier is welcomed, right now the cosmetics/survivors/killers are too many, the prices are too high (cosmetics mainly, 21,6k a set) and the level up reward is a complete joke. No devotion rewards, no rank rewards, no achievements rewards (an in-game achievement system that can give you rewards, it's implemented in a lot of games) etc. I've spent a fairly decent amount of time and money in this game and many others as well, a helping hand from the devs will be more than welcomed. If they lower the grind, players will feel even more motivated to play the game to get them skins.

Rainbow 6 is very similar with DbD, they release 2 operators a season (one for each side), getting 8 operators a year. If you look at DbD's year 3, we had 4 survivors and 4 killers, literally the same. Ubisoft has lowered the prices for their year 1 operators, year 2 and year 3 accordingly, only the year 4 operators are full priced. They should do the same for DbD as well. Year 1 killers/survs- 6000 shards, Year 2 survs/killers - 7000 shards, Year 3- 8000 and the new released ones, 9000.

  • No! There are more survivors than killers anyway, I wouldn't buy it just for 6 perks, even if you are a survivor main or killer, a chapter with no killer is simply a waste of a Chapter slot. I'd rather prefer a chapter with only a Killer and no survivor, like the last one with Ghostface, rather than 2 skins that won't change the gameplay at all.

  • I'm not a killer main, but I do play killer like 40%. As a survivor I don't teabag/point, only in extreme situations if a killer camps my friend or if they nod their head at me after a decent chase, like they feel proud or something, so I teabag them in return so they won't feel that confident on themselves.

When playing as killer, if any of the survivors teabag, they are simply dead, no mr. nice killer. I don't mind someone pointing at me. But teabagging is spammed only for one reason, to annoy the killer, while teabagging doesn't really annoy me, I will tunnel them to teach them a lesson for their future matches.

I like the teabaggers that are injured on their last hook, though, they know they can't escape so they teabag at you. xD

  • Benedict Baker as we follow the story from his perspective.

  • A match against a Legion before the rework, I was duoqueued with a friend, one survivor DC'ed instantly when he saw it as Legion, they downed me and hooked me in the basement a few secs later the other person was downed and hooked in the basement, he/she killed themselves on the hook. During this chaos, my friend managed to repair one gen and unhooked me from the basement. We were 2v1 and only one gen done.

We had the match of our lifetimes, we manged to escape both by looping the killer to death while the other one was doing gens. We had like 27k-28k bps, both.

Now, the killer wasn't really great, but he wasn't bad either, otherwise he wouldn't had hooked me twice, the 1st time was really my mistake, I shouldn't got downed that easily AND near the basement, but the 2nd time he got me good. The map was Pale Rose so it might affected him as well, being a 110% killer at that time.

  • Jane, Kate, Meg. What more can you want?

  • Before the EGC lots of killers used to give me the hatch, one Billy in particular let me go because from his own words "from the 4 survivors, you were the only one who knew how to loop and you didn't deserve to be sacrificed".

  • CS:GO, Apex Legends, Rainbow 6 and lately I've been getting into the Assassin's Creed series, just finished the 3rd one (actually fifth) a couple weeks ago.

P.S. for the PvZ:GW players, is it played on PC? I'd like to play it one day, but I won't purchase it if no one is playing it.

  • Without contents? They've relased 2 patch notes very recently, Jesus, some of you are really desperate for game changing contents every month and if I'm not mistaking, we had a pretty major patch with the Freddy and Springwood rework less than a Month ago. We'll have Dedicated servers by the end of August and thry said by the end of the month, they will reduce grinding. So, pretty much in store for us as of now, plus, in the first weeks of September we should expect Chapter 13. Be a little more patient, other triple AAA games don't even get the amount of content we get in a full year.

1 2 3
