I personally don't think they are. I mean, if someone wants out, they're just going to kill themselves on first hook and make the game worse for everyone else anyway.

Besides that, I don't really think they're necessary since I just see this as a casual game. Sure, it sucks that someone DC's, but I just don't see it as bad as someone DC-ing in Comp matches of other games.

(Obviously though, not encouraging DC-ing. I don't think it's good for someone to DC every game or anything- but I don't think having the DC Penalty really does anything to alleviate that problem or make it better, besides forcing the people who want to DC to kill themselves on first hook and throw- which still ruins the game for everyone.)

This is exactly what I'm trying to say meanwhile someone said it's my fault.

No they aren't. DC penalties was created to help tunnelling camping killers out. Killers complained that survivors was DCing and messing up their camping and tunnelling fun. After all... It's all about the killers having fun right?

    yeah!

I live in Maine; it snows here a lot too. Get over it. The disconnect penalties should absolutely NOT be set aside. If you are having internet problems or reliability issues for ANY reason, it is polite not to play until they are corrected. All you are doing is inconveniencing four other people by insisting on trying to play when you know there is a good chance you will disconnect. Why on Earth do you feel it is ok to do this to other people?

So you're saying it's my fault for inconveniencing 4 others? The title also says at least changed for better.

  • This is the exact same thing that is happening to me. I try my very best to help my teammates by doing gens, healing, unhooking, helping teammates, surviving and still I'm poorly rewarded for my gameplay that I tried my best on. It's almost impossible to hear someone say "good team".

This. game. is. dying. very. fast.

  • The purple/pink bottle hinders survivors, makes them scream and slows them down for a little bit.

The yellow bottle increases your movement speed when it is thrown but this effect does not happen immediately when the bottle is thrown. Only a second after. This gives you the ability to catch up to the survivor.

  • I'd say NOED is a crutch perk for bad killers. If a killer is not performing well in the match before the last generator is completed, they will most likely rely on NOED to be lethal and carry them. When a killer is carried by NOED, they are rewarded because of this perk.

  • @Fraudette said:

Broken emblem is my guess. Seems to be a reoccurring issue with high-rank survivors where the Unbroken emblem is either static or doesn't reward you at all, and it's resulted in quite a few silly depips.

Because of this, it might be difficult to rank up - even when you're doing your best. Some people have said that they've managed to stay in red/purple, but it's way more difficult at the moment. You got this! :) No idea when or if it'll be fixed, but doing our best is all we can do for now. Many others on here have expressed similar grievances, so let's just hope the devs get on it asap.

    Yeah hopefully!

  • Even with these patches, the game is still dying quickly.

Just going to ask a straight forward question to the people who want Spirit "nerfed": are you asking for a buff to compensate? It doesn't sound like you are because of the way you're wording your logic. I feel like a lot of people need to realize balancing things out doesn't always necessarily mean nerfing them. Let me educate a lot of survivor mains that the definition of "nerf" is "to decrease the power of something." Why does Spirit need to be a weaker killer? I main Spirit and agree she needs some tweaks but it's not impossible to keep her as strong as she is while balancing her out.

I've seen many people make proposed changes to Spirit that have so many flaws in it that it makes me feel like they have never played Spirit before. I remember watching this one guy on YouTube that ranted about how "OP" and "easy" Spirit was and proposed that they should bring back the breathing bug along with having a fatigue coming out of phase similar to what Nurse and Legion has. As you expect, I didn't hear about any buffs she can receive to compensate. These two changes would immediately drop Spirit down to B-tier and would honestly make her just as hard as Nurse in some situations. Honestly wouldn't really mind if she was almost as hard as Nurse as long she's still on Nurse's level of strength. Adding a fatigue to Spirit's kit is such a big addition that you'd almost have to make Wakazashi Saya (purple reappearance add on) base kit to balance it out. I've also heard people say Spirit shouldn't be able to hear survivors while phasing. Spirit relies so much on audio that this would about kill her. All survivors need to do against Spirit is to make distance and double back as soon as they see Spirit stand still if she couldn't see or hear them.

I really don't mean to be rude when I say this, but if you don't play Spirit, then your ideas for her probably aren't going to be good, and this applies to every killer. If you do want to brainstorm good ideas, play Spirit more often and you'll get a better understanding of what would be best for her. Also, for the love of Jane Romero's thickness, please stop saying to nerf a killer without proposing something in return. That right there proves to me you're only for one side. Not saying there aren't people that are bias towards the killer side and think that Spirit's flaw in giving the survivors little information is balanced. There are definitely a lot of Spirit players that ruin the reputation of my waifu because of their toxicity and entitlement. We can all ignore those people and the survivor mains that do the same and have a civil discussion about this topic.

    True.

Like you said nerf means "to decrease the power of something." Many other entitled survivor mains do not understand how she works and therefore, they want her nerfed? That seems very impulsive and childish if you ask me. Why would you want something nerfed if you don't understand how it works?

Also, I love how you proved your points and how you elaborated on them.

Reread the post, I didn’t state that a nerf was necessary to her overall base power. All I’ve been saying is she needs to provide more feedback, whether it be audio or visual.

I understand that. You're basically saying that she is overpowered because of her audio and visual effects.

    false

seems pretty clear people don't play Spirit.. chase music drowns out 90% of the sounds, which is why Stridor is used.. an Iron Will user crouched is still nearly inaudible

    True

You are absolutely correct people do not play certain killers like spirit and do not understand how she works. Maybe if they would gain some understanding of that this conversation would have no meaning and be nothing.

  • @RaginRendon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1949865#Comment_1949865

How can you even assume that I don’t know how she works simply because I stated that she needs to provide additional feedback?

Because you would be able to comprehend how she works and be able to counter her with jukes I guess. You would not complain that spirit needs to be "nerfed".

  • In my opinion, Gen rushing is not that effective like it was before toolboxes and generator completion time was nerfed. Understanding when and when not to commit to chases can aid your chances of winning and be able to avoid gen rushing.

  • There is counterplay involved in a match with spirit despite perks. I personally would say that misdirection is the most optimal way to deceive her. If you would understand how she works, you would be able to decipher actions that she makes while she is phasing. You are revealing that you do not understand how the Spirit works.

  • Exactly, I do not understand why the devs would make significant changes to something that was not asked for. Now because they went ahead and implemented the new locomotion in live servers, we have absurd hits and everything is scattered around the screen.

  • I'm very content with this change. I think that this will make killers more lethal in a match without having problems with object of obsession.

  • I have never understood an offering like this. I don't see how this is useful because the goal is to separate from each other to get objectives done, so either the killer just throws the game or they use strategic plans with will surprise me.

  • Honestly, I'm not even surprised about this. Being upset about a survivor bringing a key is one thing, but being a little toxic is another thing.

  • @Mandy said:

The whole point of MMR is to even up matchmaking - it's not difficult to reach any rank in DbD on either side, it's purely about time invested at this point. Therefore having a more skill based matchmaking should make matches a lot fairer.

ok, thank you for telling me the REAL idea of MMR this is just what I have seen so far in my games.

  • I think it may be a rollback, and questionable hitboxes have been an issue for the longest time.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

Do I agree with you? Yes, but not for the reason you gave because that's inaccurate. I think there's too many factors that go into what makes the match and that goes for both sides. I don't think the developers are completely aware of how much we're actually talking in order to make this system as accurate as possible. Lemme explain.

For Survivors: Would generators completed be taken into account? Is how long you're on the generator be taken into account? Are you using a toolbox? Brand New Part? Are multiple people on the generator with you? Is Prove Thyself in effect? What about Spine Chill? Resilience? Did someone your with miss a skill check? Did you miss a skill check? Did the killer come over which stopped you from completing the gen? Were you pulled off? All those questions are just about time on generators (except the first one)

For Killers: Is chase time taken into account? Did the survivor have an exhaustion perk that extended the chase? Were pallets dropped? Did you have some level of stealth and the survivor didn't see you coming? Were they running No Mither? Did you win the chase? Did you have to switch targets due to an almost completed generator? Were you pallet stunned which caused the ability to break the pallet take longer? Was bloodlust gained at all? Is the killer you're playing have mindgame potential or a way to hit a survivor faster even if far away (Huntress, Deathslinger, Demo, Nurse, etc)? Were you using any insta downs? Did the survivor run any really strong loops? Those questions are all for chases.

See what I mean? Those questions are all for small parts of the game that in the end can effect your ability to finish generators faster or finish chases faster. Although some of those questions don't actually measure your skill, they still should be taken into account in order to accurately predict. I'm also not bringing into account "how long should it take for x amount of survivors to finish a gen" or "this is how long the perfect chase should take". Why? Because how are you supposed to measure that? You can't because there's too many variables.

I also agree with you, but my opinion is inaccurate?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1909022#Comment_1909022

killers can exploit the chase mechanic so this is not a viable solution, it really should just deactivate when doing a gen.

i agree and that is way better than my opinion.

  • Yes, I believe this addon is fair. It's very rare to get an RBT kill on a survivor unless the pig is trying to force one to happen which can cause her to throw the game because when a survivor is in a chase with the pig with an active trap, it deactivates until they are out of the chase, which means if the pig doesn't get value out of that chase, she will have wasted an abundance of time.

  • I'd say DS needs a nerf because of how it is abused by survivors. I think that it should deactivate when you're off the hook and the killer isn't chasing you.

  • There are numerous ways the great perk can be countered by survivor actions which obviously makes it not op. Some people just don't have brains lmao.

  • I mainly do Solo Queue, and as soon as a gen that I'm working on is about to be popped, someone is usually downed. It is very hard almost impossible to take the game in your control because of how your teammates handle the game. I also hate how people that crouch around the map without participating in being chased and are rewarded. I find that to be very questionable and annoying.

  • I like the idea of Demo boi getting a little change to make him a little bit more viable than he is now. But currently, I think that he is balanced.

  • feel free to have your own opinion and criticize me. nice.

  • I would also wait until the developers have any further notice on MMR before we come to conclusions and debate.
