  • Can't wait for the rework where she gets an aimbot and has the cooldown on her power completely eliminated. Also wouldn't be shocked if she is able to fly around the map like a fighter jet.

  • Would it not be possible to make more pallets spawn for stronger killers? Having a flexible pallet system like this would make more sense. For example if you play an objectively weaker killer like Ghostface then you would get significantly less pallets than if you were playing Blight or Ghoul. The devs did finally acknowledge that killers are not equal when they gave certain killers lower hook bonuses in the anti tunnel system. I feel like this is a better solution than just nerfing pallets across the board. It feels equally bad when you load in against a strong killer and there are so few pallets.

Haven't the devs said before that they prioritize queue times over anything else in regards to matchmaking? I'd have to dig a little bit to find something to reference. But I would HAPPILY wait 5-10 minutes, or hell… more… if it meant I was getting people who have sank a comparable amount of time into the game as me.

Surely there is something between instant queues and what you mentioned.

  • Having an actual matchmaking system might inconvenience the people who go for crazy winstreaks. We can't have that in DBD.

im currently staying far away form survivor till they get a new balance team.

Right now im doin another run of ghost of tsushima, then ima do silent hill F once october hits. Then ima bounce around between bf6 and some other halloween type games like mortuary assistant and phas

I think it's more insidious than the balance team being bad. It looks more like a deliberate effort to release easy to play killers that also happen to be over tuned. If it had just been Ghoul then I might have given it a pass. For it to happen again so soon is extremely shady and makes it seem intentional.

kaneki sold so well they realized there's no point in making killers require skill to use so that casual andies can just pay money and "have fun".

I'm glad that more people are waking up to this. Ideally the backlash will be enough to make it stop but i'm not going to get my hopes up.

  • @Ohyakno said:

I wish they'd quit doing this stuff. First with ghoul and now this. It just dumbs down the game and makes it even more casual and one dimensional than it already is.

At some point they realized that making things require no effort resulted in more DLC being sold. It's actually ridiculous at this point. This level of hand holding is insane for a theoretically competitive game.

  • Behavior has to get over their sunk cost fallacy with this system. I get that you guys spent development resources on it. You're just hurting the game by keeping it around. Just let it go and move on.

  • Forgotten Ruins, Haddonfield, and Hawkins. All of them are terrible.

Nine years down the line, they finally announce a rework for survivor items and then some forum killer complains and we somehow come out of it with no changes except Appraisal lost its rummage speed bonus, somehow.

Painfully accurate description of how Behavior balances the game.

  • All I have ever wanted is better matchmaking. If you play Blight or Ghoul with four slowdowns then you SHOULD be matched with degenerate survivors in every match. You deserve to be stressed if you are sweating that hard against randoms. Anything is preferable to this mickey mouse matchmaking that we have right now. If people in the upper brackets have to wait 3-4 minutes longer for a match then so be it.

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

to make killer players feel good about themselves while they make everyone else feel miserable.

That's literally what the last few years have been about. Making killer so easy that anyone can pick it up and get instant gratification. It doesn't even matter if you're terrible at the game. This is best evidenced by the Ghoul and The Krasue. Absurdly strong and easy to play with very little punishment if you make mistakes. To top of it off they have killed off decent loops and replaced them with hilariously unsafe ones despite releasing strong killer after strong killer.

  • Hens already put out a full video detailing how broken she is. If you haven't played against her yet then it does a good job of explaining exactly what's wrong with her.

  • @majoreq said:

coz some tiktokers and noob content creators said she is C tier and bhvr also have low mmr dev who dont understand this game

This is a major problem with the way Behavior balances DBD. They put way too much stock into what random people on the internet say about issues in the game. Then they seemingly change all of their plans and walk them back over what a loud minority is saying.

  • YOU WILL GET TUNNELED BY THE NEW KILLER AND YOU WILL LIKE IT!

  • Killers have always been significantly louder than survivors despite being a smaller group. Content creators who main killer also wield a very disproportionate amount of influence over what happens to the game. Probably because they take everything so seriously. Compare how serious Otzdarva and truetalent are compared to people like Skermz and JRM. Otz will release a 20 hour video talking about why a change shouldn't happen. After this he will go on stream every day for weeks and complain until the change is reverted. There is no one on the survivor side who does anything like this. People like JRM are content to make the killer fall into a hole. They never talk about balance or offer any suggestions about how to change the game for the better. Basically I think that killers mains are louder and this is why they usually end up getting what they want. Survivor mains are content to be punching bags and Behavior doesn't care as long as they keep buying skins.

  • It's obviously a ploy to force you to buy the rift pass bundle. It's just a way to squeeze more money out of people. Either that or you are forced to play every day.

  • @BbQz said:

Best strategy why change? You honestly should be happy. How silly would it be to load up a competitive game and your doing your best to win, only to find out the other side was handicapping its self by playing nice so you could run around and play.

I do that for my daughter when we play since she's a child I would be pretty disrespected to find out people I compete with doing that to me.

"Competitive game" Let me know when DBD has a functional matchmaking system. Like when this Blight is matched with the most degenerate SWF imaginable and not some random solo queue team of varying skill levels.

  • The real issue is Behavior using a rocket launcher to fix every problem. Either that or they walk back most of the proposed changes and nerf them into uselessness. The go next system is a great example of the first one. All you needed to do was remove the kobe on the first hook and the problem was mostly solved. Instead we also got that convoluted system that punishes innocent players. Then you have cases like the anti face camp. I have played probably 1000+ games since that was added and I have seen it activate a grand total of once. It's so laughably forgiving that it's almost impossible to activate unless you go out of your way to do it. I have no doubt in my mind that whatever they add in the future for slugging/tunneling will be equally useless. Like just scrap the idea entirely and stop wasting resources on it. We know exactly how it's going to turn out. I personally never wanted anything this convoluted. Most of my complaints about the game have been about fixing MMR and maybe nerfing a few of the over tuned killers at the top of the roster (Blight, Nurse, etc). The absolute most I wanted from an anti-tunnel system was punishing the most extreme cases of hard tunneling. For example hooking the same guy three times in a row. The kind of degenerate BS that people do to achieve absurdly high win streaks. That's what made things like the 2000 game Blight winstreak possible. Nonsense like this should not be possible in a game with skill based matchmaking.

Killer mains get what they want and still act like they're weak victims.

It works for them. Why would they ever stop?

  • That's exactly how it will turn out. I will make a bold prediction right now and say that somehow killers come out of this stronger than before. We get a useless anti tunnel and anti slug that doesn't do anything and killers get basekit pop and BBQ.

Is it more popular, or are there more people playing it because of the bonus bloodpoints? I have a feeling that any role that also had 5x bonus would seem pretty popular.

I personally play it for the bloodpoints. I would not go near it without the bonus. Especially since they added Legion and Oni.

  • I do think that 2v8 is actually kind of terrible now. In addition to the constant Legions there are also 2-3 DCs in most of my matches. It needs some major changes for next time.

Noo, show us how many matches you played the survivior aswell. Escape rate is irrelevant

I had a 70%+ escape rate for the month springtrap dropped and I played 50+ matches like he did in his post. This was not the norm for me and it was largely due to the number of new killers I was being matched with. This stat without the full context is pretty meaningless. I'd stake money on this being cherry picked from a specific month where he did extremely well. I could post my 93.75% kill rate on Unknown and act like I am some sort of god. Even though in reality I have only played four games on him. At the very least you need in the hundreds of matches to prove any sort of point with stats.

  • Did they nerf cakes, streamers, survivor pudding, etc or is it just the sheer amount of useless junk in the web now that prevents me from getting them anymore?

  • @MrOogieboogie said:

Legion is PURE, unmatched cancer, and the players who play them in 2v8 are worse than that, KNOWING how busted they are. Oni isn't super awful on his own, but his power synergizes well with simply the presence of a 2nd killer and lots of survivors. Oceans of blood to feed on. They should be EXTREMELY careful with the killers they let into 2v8. Legion needs to be removed and 95% of the community would rejoice in the tears of the 5%…Plague NEVER needs to be added either…Oni could certainly be debated as well.

At the very least Oni should require more blood to get his power. There's no shortage of it in 2v8.

Yeah, the solution is to make survivor more appealing from a gameplay perspective. Offering incentives is just a bandaid fix. The easiest way to do that would be more classes, like a chest-based class, a totem-based class, classes similar to Escapist but with different exhaustion perks, etc.

It also has to include changes for certain killers. Legion and Oni are the two who come to mind.

  • Far worse to go against than Legion tbh. Oni is the one killer in 2v8 who is actually OP. The worst part is that you know Behavior will completely ignore all of the valid feedback about him in 2v8. Then it'll be just as awful to play against him in the next version.

  • It has been broken for me since Lights Out. I literally almost NEVER go above 25%. There were days during springtrap release when the killer queue was 10 minutes long and my bonus was only at 25%. It was almost overnight when it changed. I would have 100% frequently and then it was gone the next day. I do not believe them for a second when they say nothing was changed. This was an intentional change that they are refusing to acknowledge for whatever reason.

  • The problem with solo is the same as it has always been. It's the terrible matchmaking and large number of matches that are a complete waste of your time. Whether it's you getting destroyed by some meta slave who is playing like he is in a tournament or if it's you bullying a guy who just installed the game. One sided matches like these are BORING and the sheer number of them is a major problem that the devs should be doing more to address. It doesn't matter if you win half of your games when the other half were completely one sided and horrible to play. Most matches SHOULD go down to the wire if everything is working as it should.

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

Probably not I like the fast queue but one thing they could try is no lobby. You select your loadout > > click play > > load in game, no lobby dodging= better matchmaking because autofill ignores matchmaking rules and then you get 10k hour player in a baby lobby. The lobby is what causes a lot of downtime

This is something that I have wanted for a long time. I feel like the lobby at this point only serves to waste your time. It's just people on both sides dodging and delaying you from actually getting into a match. I think people should be ready to play when they click play. If you need to do something else then do it before you click play. I really don't understand what purpose the lobby actually serves in 2025. I literally never see anyone using it to strategize. All other things like choosing items, cosmetics, etc can be done before you click play.

  • This discussion is pointless because the bad matchmaking is by design. Behavior doesn't want matchmaking to be good. They are completely fine with 300 hour survivors getting matched with 5000 hour quad slowdown blights. Or a trapper who just installed the game getting matched with a SWF where everyone has 5k hours. We had a more strict system when MMR was released and they quickly scrapped it after people started losing their minds. It's 100% intentional.

  • Then when everyone eventually learns the maps you will whine about whichever meta perk they replace windows with. "Why does everyone have unbreakable now. I'm tired of going against it every game" People aren't going to drop windows and put a meme perk there instead. Could be a healing perk, anti tunnel perk, exhaustion perk, etc. It will be something strong regardless. The way this rant is written in general is weird. You're basically complaining that you can't stomp inexperienced survivors harder.

  • I really don't know how people still play this game. It's just a complete dumpster fire right now. It can't be anything other than addiction and sunk cost fallacy at this point. The devs just refusing to listen to Otz was pretty wild to see.

  • They count abandons as escapes so the kill rates are far lower than they are in reality. The stats on nightlight were always slightly lower than the official ones the devs release and it got worse when abandons were added. Also worth noting that the official stats website also counts abandons as escapes. So basically everyone is running around with an inflated escape rate if they use the abandon feature. How this wasn't fixed before they launched the site is beyond me. I personally don't understand the point of having stats when they aren't accurate in the slightest. It seems like Behavior's internal stats are the only ones that are actually accurate at this point. According to Mandy their internal stat tracking counts abandons as kills.

  • Who is asking for this other than a few killer mains on twitter? This was not necessary at all. I haven't even been seeing many fog vials in the streams I have watched since the update. You're just creating another dead item that nobody is ever going to use. It's just back to medkits on everyone. It's like the devs want people to just bring the same things every single match.

  • Sunk cost fallacy at work with them on this. They put time and effort into the system. Now they won't let it go regardless of how awful it is. I think they will eventually get rid of it but not before everyone suffers through it for the next year or so. Let me ask you this. Should they really be pouring resources into this when you consider all of the problems this game continues to have? It just seems like a bad idea.

  • We had stricter SBMM when it first released. Then sweaty players whined that they had to actually play against other sweaty players like in every other competitive game. That's the real reason it got changed. Content creators in particular were flipping out. God forbid the loaded Blight has to play against a degenerate SWF. The "long queue times" argument is just an excuse.

  • Don't worry. I'm sure it will only take them a year to realize how ridiculous this is and make the appropriate changes.

  • I quit and uninstalled the game for whatever that's worth. A lot of people are just addicted and can't help themselves. That's how I was for a long time.

  • DELETE THIS SYSTEM. NOBODY ASKED FOR IT AND NOBODY WANTS IT.

  • Licenses and new game modes are what is carrying the game. The game got a massive influx of players from 2v8 and FNAF. Nothing to do with the actual quality of the base game.

I knew something felt off with incentives since the Springtrap update, I didn't realize this was going on long before that though. Why the hell are they reducing incentives? Survivor is arguably at its most miserable atm because of everyone still spamming Ghoul, trying their absolute heart out every match, months later, so why in the world are we only getting +50% to put up with that??

Mine has been stuck at 25% since the last version of Lights Out. It was like someone flipped a switch and it never went back to normal. Then Mandy claimed that nothing had changed which I think is obviously not true. The lack of survivors is higher than it has been in YEARS and we never get big incentives. I was getting 25% even when the killer queue was like ten minutes long. Something is definitely wrong and they need to actually do something about it.

  • 400 maybe. I barely played during the event.

  • Was stuck at 46/48 before I stopped playing.

  • @vol4r said:

"fixing" survivior incentives from 100% to 25% was not a great idea, I guess.

Pushing killer content (kaneki, animatronic back to back) wasn't the greatest idea either - surviviors got nothing, so people want to play killer more.

Also this happening on top of "survivior giving up", "tunneling is a problem", "slugging is a problem" era.

I really don't understand the logic with this. There would be days where the killer queue was over ten minutes long and i'd only have a 25% bonus on survivor. Either they broke something and don't know how to fix it or they intentionally changed it and are refusing to acknowledge it for whatever reason.

  • I finally quit the game entirely and uninstalled because of him. I played a few days worth of the event and couldn't take playing against him anymore. I have never hated a killer as much as the Ghoul. It's not even close. It's impressive to me because I never thought for a second they would outdo the disaster that was Skull Merchant.

  • It's interesting hearing the official stance from Mandy vs the stance from content creators who have a direct line to the devs.

Mandy : MMR is real and it works.

Hens and OhTofu : The matchmaking is so loose that it doesn't mean anything.

Which is it? My own experience in this game has shown me that it's the latter. I don't get how anyone can claim this system works when we get 7000 meta blights being matched with survivors who have 100 hours. You would think it'd be easy to prevent these kinds of mismatches from happening. This isn't just in my imagination either. I had multiple matches that fit this criteria yesterday. Extremely good killers who were playing like they were in a tournament vs people who played like they had just installed the game. Why do I even get them as teammates when I have an above average escape rate? I should be getting teammates who are least decent. I don't mind playing against good killers when I have teammates who can keep up. Sadly the current system doesn't let that happen very often. This is a huge part of why nobody wants to play survivor.

  • This is the first anniversary where I just don't really care or feel like I am missing out on anything. Especially not after they nerfed the drop rate for cakes. In total I have played about 30 matches. Basically all of which happened in the first few days of the event. Since then I just haven't logged into the game at all.

  • It's a combination of a lack of survivors and Behavior's refusal to give this game a real matchmaking system. It doesn't help that they seem to take a lot of advice from content creators. In my experience these are the people most likely to lobby AGAINST stricter matchmaking. I have listened to some of the biggest content creators passionately defend the awful system that we have now. Of course there are some people like OhTofu who think the matchmaking should be more strict but I feel like he is in the minority among this group.
