You worded your original post poorly, then. We have widely accepted terminology for these things and you went and created your own ultra confusing terminology.
It's simple math. What's there to be confused. You are the one confusing Death Hook with Struggle Hook phase. Even the devs call it that. In the Hint screen they call it Struggle Phase. There ARE 3 stages to hooking. 1 you hang and bleed out into 2nd stage you struggle.
I didnt word it any more different. It's common sense ... Death Hook is the 3rd last time they've been hooked and die to. Death. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

If you're unhooked twice, you are on your death hook. Again, making mori's useless.
3rd hook is Death Hook. Automatic sacrifice to the Entity.
2nd hook is Struggle Hook. You are fighting off being sacrificed but have the chance to be rescued still. I say Struggle Hook Saves activates a Mori. My suggestion is either Hook them a 3rd time to sacrific to the Entity. Or go with your instincts as a killer and Mori the survivor, but for less points (Which some Altruistic Survivors still do when seeing a Struggle phase friend. And if they let them die during a Struggle Hook phase. Well ๐คทโโ๏ธ)

Mori: A better solution would be that it can be used after *everyone on the team* has been hooked once. Then at least it's not useless, and you have to work for it. Making the ebony on death hook only may as well just remove it from the game. With the change you propose, it should just be removed and put into the killers base kit. It's not worthy of an offering after that.
Keys: Change the Dull key to only allow one person to escape. Do not change the skeleton key. Instead, change the hatch so it only spawns with either one person remaining OR all the gens are done. If there's 1 gen left, and 3 survivors remaining, the hatch should not spawn. As I said, this would make keys still viable, but not overpowered, and still allow the 4 man hatch achievement to be done.
Much better solutions.
To be fair. I suggested 2nd Unhook. Meaning Death Hook is 3rd, Given a Mori option (which is less points) or finish them off anyways on 3rd final hook as a sacrifice (for the amount lotted for Sacrifices) (that said. I personally do hook all 4 and not tunnel, before I decide to start using Mori, so I technically agree to hooking them all first. But also for that one buttnut who seems cocky. I tend to be done with them quickly. That's just me. I Do however feel activating a Mori would work once a Killer has chased a Savior away a certain amount of distance, possibly been looped but got the upper hand. Much like activating Bloodlust, which then allows the use of a Mori kill. But I'll assume even that solution will be debated)
-
Solution:
Mori: There should ONLY be Ebony Mori. Active after 2nd unhooked status. Able to do this to all 4 survivors.
(It's only fair, 3rd time you're gonna die anyways)
Keys: rainbow keys are the Only key that allows escaping with 4 gens done. And only the survivor who Carrie's it allowed to escape.
(It's only fair, the other survivors didn't have it)

The things that bothers me about that answer is, then why are they even in the game anymore? If you're updating to a new matchmaking, then why keep ANYTHING from the old matchmaking, especially if according to them it "doesn't mean anything" (imo old Ranks do still SOMEWHAT matter, as an indication of time played if nothing else, which means the new MMR matching certain Ranks with people who have literally JUST STARTED PLAYING THE GAME makes it unfair and unfun for everyone involved)?
Take LoL for example, in order to play ranked in League you have to reach account Level 30 and own at least 20 different champs on that account. So even if this is their first time playing ranked they've probably AT LEAST played the game long enough to have the basics down and have an idea of how to play semi efficiently.
Now I'm not saying DBD should work exactly like League, my point is that the fact that a person who has only played DBD for 5 hours can literally be matched with or against (or both) someone with hundreds if not thousands of hours (and the grind in DBD is so insane that you'll probably only have a few perks by that time, and going against people who are fully kitted out while you're lucky to have a full set of perks, not to mention a full set of GOOD perks) makes DBD so unfun and unfair for new players, and really lessens the chances that they'll stick around and not just ask for a full refund.
Considering Rank resets at the 13th of each month. A reset is a reset, suppose it clears the rank cache? I'm not sure. But also there are prestige 3. Which should be more indicated as what equation of skill and game knowledge have been made by a player. That should set the skill. Not a reset ranking system. That with an indicator of time played should be what mmr should be acknowledging. But that said. I'm not a dev. Nor any ideas I have will be considered the answer
-
More often than not. There's not even any time for even a invisibility effect to happen or intractable effect considering most killers step away 5 steps away and the survivor is rescued.
What needs to happen is a timelapse to trigger before a survivor is unhooked (especially on first hook) tou all got time to use that in gens. THEN go save someone. The killer wouldn't be pestered when swarmed by survivors straight after hooking. Most times when you call out tunneling. It's fairplay because a survivor just unhooked another. (Albeit I personally go after the saver. Not the recently unhooked)
P.S. forgive the typos. I'm tired. And I hate my dumb phone

Yes. I know. That wasn't the point of confusion.
The OP said this:
"Should the trap be remade to activate based on the next down instead of gens?"
Which I took to mean he wanted the trap to literally detonate on the next down or something, instead of just activating the timer.
It should've been a Mori. In most situations, the rbt isn't a problem. It quickened each gen after its been placed. Except the last gen. Its inactive after all gens are done post placing and you can escape with a souvenir.
If before the gates are open and still on, running to the gates activates death

If I could take one map from each game and put them in the game, here's my thoughts:
Silent Hill: Nowhere - an actual region compromising of tangled segments of every previous region. It could be disorientating, but also add a nightmarish element.
Silent Hill 2: Lakeview Hotel - the dramatic endpiece has a lot of climatic areas, and an oddly nostalgic image that makes it feel like walking through a dream.
Silent Hill 3: Church - Dark, distressing and apocalyptic in looks, this disturbing, twisted building has many areas to chase and be chased.
Silent Hill The Room: Water Prison - A multifloored Hell of concrete, cells and torture rooms. A circulation room at the top can rotate the levels.
Silent Hill Origins: Greenfield Apartments - Spacious, with both outdoor and indoor areas to explore. Especially unsettling secret tunnels and spyholes abound.
Silent Hill Homecoming: Shepherd House - This could be a mainly outdoor map, with the foggy streets. However, the house could be a centre-piece like the school at Badham, especially with the Hellish interior.
Silent Hill Shattered Memories: Cauldecotte Woods - An icy, outdoor park area with a large lake, rangers hut and a few out-houses. If Friday 13th never made it, this would be a good substitute map for Friday 13th's camp area.
Silent Hill Downpour: Devil's Pit - A unique map, being it a map that is designed like an outdoor map, and yet actually be an indoor map! A couple of buildings, rock formations, caverns and even minecart tracks.
I think I'm in Lust with you ๐ฅดโค

They should've done that with the beginning but if they want to make another circus themed chapter-(My dream chapter), I would like to see a big top tent with a few rides and little booths with games that you would see at a carnival or a fair, that is how I would imagine a theme park map
Completely agreed. The Clown was reason why I got DBD in the first place. And then the dissatisfaction with his chapel themed map. I mean ok. He himself is in hiding. Traveling by cart (and sickly horse). But come on. What a rehash of Asylum ๐ฅด like really. Missed opportunity much

Should prefact this by saying I've never played or seen silent hill.
But an amusement Park sounds ######### sick. Imagine roller coasters that'd activate if you did the gens by them, and you could run across low tracks but the roller coasters could insta-down you if you ran across them at the wrong time. A hall of mirrors, a carousel, a ferris wheel to take you to a higher section and if the killer is chasing you they get in the cart just below you or could literally start climbing up; there are so many possibilities and I'd absolutely love a map like that in the game.
Forgive the insinuations of it's games.
I would love a Multi Tier levels map. 5 story buildings max height. And yea th ed Amusement Park location is my favorite. The scene does have rusted staircase and girders to traverse. Much like the one in Ironworks of Misery.

I mean it's a decent strategy but it's likely to get you tunnelled by any killer who gets really irritated that you do that.
In which case you can't really blame them
That "tactic" is why I always will use Franklin's.
Folk believe everyone is cut from the same mold 100% of the time. Not everybody needs all 4 perks. Hell the challenge for using the 3 main perks of whatever character IS an achievement/trophy. So quickly forgotten the second that 4th perk option opens. So what IF someone believes its wasting a 4th perk slot.

It's sort of Franklin's problem.
Technically the white ward and the "Keep your key" key addons work by proccing if you die with an item in your hand. You can bring a white ward without an item, find an item in a chest, die, and keep the item.
Since Franklin's makes you drop your item, you technically are not carrying an item when you die.
Also something interesting of note: If you die with a white ward/weaved ring, your item will actually disappear with you. If you Mori a dude with a key and he doesn't bring a white ward, the key will be able to be taken by other survivors.
So... how is that Franklin's Problem? ๐ฅด

Franklins wouldnt even be a problem if the white ward did its job. A white ward should lock your item in regardless of FD.
Most ######### sh1t ever but then again this is DBD. So cant expect much.

On a serious note tho. The way clown applies pressure is by ending chases quickly and plague but throwing up on everything to slow the survivors down
To be fair. Plague throwing up on everything, more often than not survivors hyst work through it. It somewhat has no effect when it involves contact illness on objects, better than just thoroughly vomit On survivor.
It makes for a good snicker-fit seeing a survivor SlipnSlide over a Goo'd up Pallet ๐

Franklins doesnt bother me so much as the killer still has to catch me first and the good ole locker tech still works against franklins. Also ive noticed killers are camping my flashlight after they knock it down.
Then the killer waste all game chasing me making sure i don't get my item back and then we just gen rush him. So its an even trade off.
Franklins is more of an annoyance than a help to the killer. Making a survivor drop his item isnt going to win or lose a killer the game and vise versa for survivor.
I'm not one that'll camp An Item. Imma be smacking the survivor. Which is the point. Most will retrace their steps hoping to grab their items again. Go ahead, I'll just keep whacking them out of hands. That never means I'm going to let a survivor go. They Are the things I'm smacking to death. (Well, twice til The Entity finishes the job) I dont speak for others like some do here. Say what You want. Franklin's works.

Its trash. Was trash before and now its even bigger trash since your item disappears.
Then again just pull the old put your item on at 10 seconds or switch chars at 7 secs and play with no offering, since the new patch makes it to where if you char switch last minute your offering no longer works.
This simple but effect tactic works 95% of the time since if the killer doesnt see any items would be a waste of a perk slot.
All survivor's should just do this. If your bringing a flashlight or key you should 100% of the time use this method since killers hate those items the most.
Also a great way to avoid lightborn since most killers wont run it if they dont see any flashlights.
And this "logic" Is why I use Franklin's. No matter who brings in what. I'mma smack it out of hands. ๐ฌ it is fun to watch survivors attempt to run right back and pick them up. O ly for me to just smack it again out of hands. Whoever goes for it. ๐

It could work essentially (when Medusa catches you upto 10meters away?) Much like as Trapper's stun bear trap does. You "start" to turn to stone at the feet. Tripping over. Limp away , as usual animation, or completely fall over slowly turning into half stone while crawling state (with add-ons variation). A Lil dust effect as Medusa picks survivor up as she isn't able to completely turn you I to stone by the say of The Entity and be hooked. Her Mori kill however, will just finish the job completely and she can either claw your stone statues body to broken shattered pieces or tail whip.... just my imagination.

Until it's removed, I still will forever be confused by BHVR's choice by implementing in game a Choice to Leave Game option.
