The biggest buff would be allowing clown to combine both his gases to produce a special effect that does something to the survivors. Rather than to cancel the gases out.

A “White” gas that would expand to hinder the survivor’s perceptions without making them slow would be the most effective buff to the clown!

How would that be a buff? Any decent survivor leaves a loop with a gas cloud. It would also take longer and two bottles to create the cloud. If a survivor is running into your toxic cloud, you should be hitting them anyway.

Maybe it would work if you had to charge the bottles by mixing them together before the throw, but having to throw a second bottle into a cloud isn't a buff.

I own it on pc, switch, xbox s and ps4. I play on different devices for specific needs. The loading times are so bad but worse on old gen.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3600119#Comment_3600119

Are you insane or just trolling?

Okay, you own it on a bunch of different platforms, but which one are you having a problem on?

If you have a PC built in the past 10 years, the loading times are fine. I've also played on a Series X and the loading times are fine.

The number of times where I've even noticed a loading time is maybe once every 20 games. It sounds like your hardware probably needs an upgrade.

I dont quite understand what answer you are expecting from this tbh.

It's a perk that shows what pallets have and havent been used; in SoloQ it helps you from running into complete deadzones created by teammates wasting pallets.

It's a good perk, not necessarily OP or too strong, but it has a utility many people see as necessary, kind of like old Borrowed Time.

    You fell for the bait.

  • @IamFran said:

But playing the oni with that perks doesn't force you to play abnormally, just make you use a less efficient build.

And how is that different from getting people to learn how to use a flashlight? You see flashlights in most games. Suddenly, there's a challenge to blind the killer twice and they're forcing you to sabatoge games?

If it was get 5 flashlight saves in a game, I'd personally enjoy something like that, but I'd understand people complaining about it. But it's twice, and you don't need to get the save. Come on now.

  • @IamFran said:

If you are survivor main and don't want to play killer for reaching the end of the tome page it is not skippable because the other route have a bugged challenge (the one which ask you to achieve three great skillchecks in a row).

I'm against challenges being that hard too, if killers are not braindead they will be blinded once and they usually pick up the survivor facing a wall and also there are a lot of people not used to blind the killer while carrying a survivor. I would keep the blinding challenges as just blinding, which is not hard to achieve after dropping a pallet in chase.

And as someone stated above the killer challenges are way easier than survivor ones and survivor ones make you usually play badly and/or waste time.

There are multiple ways through level four of the tome doing just survivor challenges and you can skip the blinding and skill check ones.

There are multiple killer challenges that make you play abnormally in this tome. Running Zanshin and Nemesis on Oni definitely isn't the normal way to play Oni.

  • @Alionis said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3598970#Comment_3598970

There's a difference between challenges that can be integrated more or less normally into the normal game flow and challenges that require you to go out of your way to achieve something, likely resulting in the sabotaging it. This challenge is the latter and I will indeed complain about that. This is not a question of knowing how to use the flashlight at all.

How are trying to get flashlight saves sabotaging the match? Would you prefer the challenges were all just spend an increasing amount of time playing DBD? You played DBD for 12 minutes, have a cookie! You played DBD for 26 minutes, have another cookie!

95% of the challenges take zero effort. Can't we have a few that are actually a challenge?

  • @DrDucky said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3598970#Comment_3598970

Yes, but a good killer is not going to let you get 2 saves in a match. Its a challenge which relies on the killer making a mistake.

So do it in the next match...

I would rather blame BHVR's dumb Challenge design philosophy for survivors, like killers can have some rough ones, but Survivor ones tend to just suck.

Half they time they border on just asking too much, like this one, or throwing the game essentially, like the typical cleanse 10+ totems.

Dont even get me started on the Glyphs, Green ones can burn in a fire.

Asking too much? It's twice, and you don't even have to get the save, so you can do it while they're hooking. Just play normally with a flashlight and you'll get it done in a few games.

I know how a flashlight works. The problem is the killer will start checking the area if they realize a person is flashlight saving.

And? Do people really need to complain about every challenge that isn't brain dead easy and might take a few games?

  • It's a challenge. A challenge. It's level four and skippable. Just bring a flashlight and try and learn how they work.

  • It's a challenge. A challenge. It's in the final level of the tome and it's skippable. DBDers will complain about anything.

The whole point of the challenges is to try something you don't normally do.

Learning how to use a flashlight is a good thing and also makes the game more fun.

  • He's only strong because survivors refuse to think about the macro aspects of the game. He's slow and has nothing to help his mobility. Spread out and do gens. If he's not a good at chase, he can't keep up to the speed of the game. One extended chase and he's kind of hooped.

  • @pseudechis said:

I think part of why people think he's not good, is a lot of players have a very singular mind about how the game should be played and when you do that you severely limit the effectiveness of a lot of the mechanics.

Myer's power fits the theme of the Halloween films, creepy stalk followed by killing spree.

His addons do exactly what addons should do, they don't just augment his base power slightly but can also completely change the way he's played. Tombstone Myers is a completely different game from Jumpscare scratched mirror Myers.

Lastly his expensive addons are powerful, so much so that people piss and moan about them but that's what expensive addons should do, make the killer scary to face. (I know some people will say its not scary its annoying but they are the ones who get grumpy when they die, so grain of salt).

His design ticks so many boxes for a well designed killer, he doesn't need a lot of tweaks. If they greatly change that and ruin him it will be really bad.

He's fine as an idea, but he doesn't work in the game. You have to start every game as the worst killer in the game. Then you have to waste time levelling up to become the second-worst killer in the game, only behind tier-one Myers. Then when you finally get to tier three, it's still not that strong. He's still loopable, and you can just wait it out. If you're against competent survivors who don't spend the first five minutes crouch-walking around the map and know to deny stalk, there's really not much he can do. He's also awful on 90% of the maps.

Even his "OP" add-ons don't do much against competent survivors. He's leagues behind all the other one shot down killers.

Compare him against the actual best-designed killer in the game, Oni. Oni starts the game as a standard killer and gets to injure survivors to get his power instead of slowing all the way down and letting them run away. Then when Oni levels up, he's by far the best killer in the game at that point and is actually terrifying. Plus, you can never run out of orbs until everyone is dead.

They will have to drastically change Myers to make him a decent killer. Like getting rid of tier one and making tier three actually a threat.

  • @pseudechis said:

The only change Myers needs is for stalk to slowly passively regen on survivors over time so that you never wind up without a power.

Otherwise he's one of the best designed killers in the game.

He's the worst designed killer in the game for how the game is actually played.

I really don't understand the criticism of tombstone. It adds a fun wrinkle to the game and you hardly ever see it. I have thousands of hours in the game and have been tombstoned probably less than five times.

  • They spawn when any gen is completed, but other survivors can eat them.

I had NO gen perks, save for pentimento with one stack that I activated after they gave up. They could have, and would have gen rushed me into oblivion. If they didn't have an agenda. They threw. And this is like the third time tonight.

Again, this is how survivors play in 2023. I had a Trapper game yesterday where I caught one survivor in a trap, they suicided on hook, and the rest of the team just ran up to me and gave up.

  • Nothing to do with Chucky. That's how survivors play against everyone in 2023

  • What would a 20-30 second cooldown even do? They have to hook someone to activate it. It's also pretty easy to avoid the killer for 20 seconds when you know where they're coming from, and it helps keep the killer from tunnelling. It's also really only strong on Blight and Spirit.

  • There's currently a bug with killer perks that seems pretty rare, so I'm worried it might take a bit to be fixed.

I've P3ed everyone, but I'm missing a couple perks on every killer after Dredge. I can't use Pop, and if I go to Clown's bloodweb, Pop is yellow for tier one at the top even though my clown is P8. I also have Pop on everyone before Dredge.

Maybe you're experiencing the same bug. Maybe not since your Xeno seems fine. How many perks are available for earlier killers?

You also had to have purchased Cruel Limits if it isn't bugged and you haven't prestiged Demo. P1 unlocks all three.

  • Why would you wait four minutes if you're not having fun? Pick her up and chase her again if you have to. If you're really worried about her getting hatch, go close the hatch.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/398281/bhvrs-solution-to-3-gen

Unless they are doing something to fix the "Chess merchant" style only ala Anti-facecamp only deals specifically with super egregious facecamping, then its going to be a huge problem.

LITERALLY BY DESIGN the killer is weaker at the start of the game, and stronger near the end of the game due to the fact that they have less gens to patrol. Personally, if they make it so that the killer gets some of that power in the early game (i.e. losing 3 gens in the first chase is no longer expected) then i would happily trade the 3 gen.

Honestly the easiest change i think they can make is make gens take different times depending on where we are. I.E.

    Current:

    1st gen: 90 seconds

    2nd gen: 90 seconds

    3rd gen: 90 seconds

    4th gen: 90 seconds

    5th gen: 90 seconds

    Total: 450 seconds

    Potential change:

    1st gen: 130 seconds

    2nd gen: 110 seconds

    3rd gen: 90 seconds

    4th gen: 70 seconds

    5th gen: 50 seconds

    Total: 450 seconds

Then make it so that the "charges" are removed from the repaired side of the gen so you can't partially repair a bunch of gens and then 1 gen gets done and suddenly 5 get done, and you might have a decent change.

Doesn't change the total time, but evens out the early game so that the killer can actually get a down or 2 before they lose a gen. Then in the late game, 3 genning is much much weaker because you can power through 50 seconds much easier than 90.

That would be awful and game-breaking. They'd have to massively buff killers if they did something like that. All the complaints people have about low mobility killers would actually be valid if they made that change.

If the person/people following you are injured, then just listen for them, sure. That's not how the combo works, is it?

You can't always know if healthy survivors are following, especially with the current prevalence of 'Calm Spirit.'

Let's say three gens go quickly at the start (which is common), one gen operator starts laying into the fourth gen while the other two shift to rescuing the runner with ftp + buckle up combo. The killer is instantly robbed of vital pressure while the first rescuer or initial runner rotates out (covered by invincibility) to continue repairs while the second rescuer remains to rob the killer again, instantly eliminating even more pressure that the killer worked for.

The gens are completed, the killer has a single hook, you do the math on the odds of a 4-out.

And you're going up to bat to defend this nonsense?

If the game is at the stage where three gens are done and four survivors are still alive and uninjured, you're going to lose that one no matter what perks the survivors have.

Three survivors being involved in the chase is actually a huge benefit to the killer in your scenario. It's probably your only chance to snowball and salvage the game.

Suicide on hooks and DC are mild signs of ``no one wants to play Survivor.''

The reason is because of the killer's unpleasant tactics such as tunneling and slugging

Suicides on hook and DCs are a sign of players being babies who need to find something better to do with their time. The vast majority of suicides and DCs happen because you found a survivor at the beginning of the game. That's all it takes in most cases. It happens with every killer no matter how you play. People quit as soon as one thing doesn't go how they want it to.

Not sure what you mean. I've been giving out an easy fix to the tunneling solution for awhile now. All you do is make it so the Entity won't accept the same Survivor twice. Period. Upon trying to hook the same person twice you will see a message that states, "The Entity wants a fresh sacrifice, go find a new Survivor to hook." (Something like that) This would actually force you to go after a new person. There would be no way at all to tunnel unless you wanted to just stare at them on the floor. xD BHVR won't make this change as it might actually be good for the game..

I guarantee you they make a change like this and you'd start to see the tunneling slow down pretty damn quick.

That's not an easy fix and would be an awful, awful solution. Can you really not see the problem with a survivor being able to do whatever they want without having to worry about being hooked? It would also be miserable for new survivors since they'd just be getting slugged.

One thing they could do, that isn't also without its problems, would be to make every unhooked survivor invulnerable until they do something. They'd have to remove their collision, but it could be something.

That being said, tunneling isn't actually a problem unless you're in a SWF.

  • Is it the one where you have to sabo a hook within a certain distance of a killer holding a survivor?

It's pretty straightforward, but if you want the guaranteed get it done, run sabo to know where the hooks are, empathy to get close to the survivor going down, Alex's toolbox and the two addons to reduce sabo time. Follow the chase, figure out the likely hook they'll go for and try to beat them there. Let them hit you at the hook, then immediately sabo with the toolbox.

If you really want overkill, stealth at the start so you don't get chased.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592521#Comment_3592521

that doesn't change anything, ppl won't give up against killers that are not atrocious.

Do you play DBD? People give up against anyone and everyone.

  • She's only strong when you don't bother to learn what changed. Her drones sound stronger, but it's because it's really hard to build the stacks. Most people don't seem to understand that you won't get a stack if you're not moving.

She's really good at forcing you to leave a loop, but that's about it, and there are a bunch of killers who are like that.

  • Tunnelling's only an issue with SWF. If you're playing solo queue, a lot of people are hoping to get tunneled. Being chased is a lot more fun than sitting on a gen.

If it's really that big of an issue for you, throw on a few of the numerous anti-tunnelling perks.

Cant you atleast tell us the reason why its not possibe right now?

It's pretty straightforward. If Sony and Microsoft were cool with cross-progression, we'd have cross-progression.

I've heard some horror stories about the backend of the code since they really had no plan for the game to explode how it did, but it should still be fairly trivial for them to enable cross-progression. It is bonkers though that there's nothing between Xbox and Windows.

  • You just need to learn where to place your turrets where it's going to help you and hassle the killer the most. It's absolutely worth the few extra seconds to get your turret in a good spot.

  • You weren't trying to start a discussion. There was nothing constructive in your post at all. What was your intention when you made it? You just wanted to get your negativity out into the world and then get mad at people. Mission accomplished, I guess.

If you're going to post negativity, maybe don't immediately say someone sucks for being negative.

Your original post was also meant to be inflammatory. What did you expect?

  • It's not balanced at all, but it also almost never has a major impact on the game. The survivor also has to commit to shadowing chases to get value out of the combo. You get more consistent value just running around with a flashlight.

  • Microsoft and Sony don't want it, so there's not much Behaviour can do.

SOLOQ SOLOQ "better than the survivors" MMR doesnt really work well, so you're not going to be paired up with 3 people of the same skill hardly ever. So all you're saying is a team of competent survivors will beat a killer with less skill. I specifically said SOLOQ. But I see this all the time, killer defenders acting like every match is a team of players on comms with thousand s of hours who play together often, when in fact the majority of matches are exactly the opposite.

Once you get into higher MMR, your teammates are usually at least competent. Keep at it and you'll get there. Stop blaming other people when it's on you. I have no problem having great games in solo queue. Nothing to do with defending killers.

  • If a killer is protecting a 3 gen and nothing else from the beginning, they should be losing 95% of the time. It's pretty easy to break a three gen if you have four survivors left.

But it's also poor killer play to run all over the map. You have to make the decision what parts of the map to protect, especially if you're playing a killer without a mobility power.

  • @BenSanderson55 said:

I like how no one asks whats preventing baby survivor from looping multiple gens? LMAO Certainly you all seem very sure of yourselves you'd address this too or is it just the same old forum still overrun by killer mains?

What exactly is your point? A survivor isn't going to be able to loop a killer for multiple gens because they're aren't better than the survivor. A killer isn't going to win by camping and slugging if they're not better than the survivors. It works both ways.

I play a whole lot of solo queue survivor and it's pretty easy to counter a camping killer. You don't need comms anymore to see what your friends are doing and there are no more hook grabs so a one for one is almost always possible. Just use the time you have to see what the other people are doing and stay on a gen in no one else is.

If you're usually doing the right thing as a solo queue survivor, you'll escape most of the time.

  • I'm not sure if you understand the reason why it's good. You can use the M2 to avoid losing stacks. There are also plenty of times when your M1 attack is a better option, especially for Xeno.

  • Oni and Billy are both pretty straight forward on console. There are some crazy things you can't really do, but 95% of the time, they're fine on a controller. Chucky will be fine on console.

  • I'm pretty sure any new Stranger Things content is a ways off if it's coming. It takes months and months to create a new killer. If doesn't make a lot of sense for them to hold off on bringing back the old content if they had a deal in place to bring Stranger Things content back into the game.

A Stranger Things killer would probably be something that they recently started working on and we'd see it next Halloween.

The picture you posted isn't identical to their teaser. They're both unremarkable magnetic knife holders.

  • 95% of SWF groups are people just hanging out playing DBD. It's extremely rare to going against an actual team of survivors who are doing everything they can to win. A large number of the sweaty games you have are also likely against solo queue gamers since they tend to actually try harder.

It's not a competitive game. There is nothing to track how well or poorly you're doing. Removing the ability to play with friends would kill the game.
