  • That's an interesting point. I wouldn't mind such an option. Or for the killer to be able to open the gate at any point during the trial, to trigger EGC if they want the game to be over.

I have the same kind of gripe with DCs on the killer's side vs survivor side. Killer DC gives survivors immediate win (they all escape), putting a clean end to the game and everyone can queue up again. Whereas one survivor DCing doesn't end the game, but the game is often effectively over : DbD isn't made to be a 3v1. Why should I suffer through an excruciating game with no hope, because one teammate DC'd?

What I would like as a system is for the survivor DC to work in a similar way to the killer DC, but a bit reworked to avoid abusing it. If one survivor DCs, then game ends. Both sides cannot lose pips, items and add-ons are not lost. Survivors don't get the 7k blood points to prevent abusing this DC system in swf (though I don't really see people chaining bans just to gain 7k), but in return don't lose their items/add-ons.

With how often people DC nowadays, maybe there could be a vote before that, whether to go on with the game despite the 3v1 or to leave. If the majority wants to play it out (maybe to try and get a tome challenge out of the way, or a daily, or because they felt the killer was fair and end of match would be interesting), the game can continue. If they'd rather leave, what I described earlier happens. The killer would get to vote as well, that way if they don't want to waste their good add-ons to an easy stomping, they can choose to vote to leave. In case of a tie, the Entity decides (50/50).

That's just a random idea, so don't take it too seriously, but I'm really tired of de-pips when we get stomped after a DC, haha !

  • I built my own desktop on a friend's advice for something like 1K, and it runs the game perfectly well, so you can definitely get yourself a good computer for less than your budget :)

  • Can't say I've ever seen this one, hahaha ! Challenge is not getting the skillcheck !

  • I mostly use them as a skin, though I do use two of my character's perks (Dance with me and Windows). But to be frank, it's really unreliable trying to guess at perks according to people's characters, so I don't.

I also don't want to be ruined buying cosmetics I like for each character I feel like playing, so I'm biker Kate all the way.

  • I don't know, but don't buy them until either you have an official answer or a couple of days. Would be silly paying full price and a few hours later it becomes on sale, but it happens every time this kind of situation happens, or when DLCs come out.

    Don't let FOMO win :)

  • I won't argue that Ghostface is actually kind of weak unless you're a literal pro at him. I still prefer playing him over Wraith though, since Wraith's speed boost upon uncloaking frustrates me more than anything else. I feel like I need his uncloaking speed addon to actually get an ambush hit. Since Ghostface's addons are pretty niche/versatile as you said, I don't feel like there is any I can't play without to correct his base kit.

Overall, I think Ghostface is funnier to play.

  • They were ? That's a shame. Elevation levels always add something to the map. Make it more authentic. Having all maps be just a plane ground makes it... plain. This is why Swamps are my favourite maps of the game.

    There's nothing to compensate.

Flashlights still blind the killers doing the same thing as before.

The fact that it still works and the fact that it was nerfed are two opinions that can and should coexist.

Think of it that way : if for accessibility reasons, a killer was locked into using their power rather than being able to charge and cancel it (like Hillbilly for example), wouldn't it be a nerf ? That would be mindgames lost and time lost as well...Even if the power technically works.

Same with flashlights in this instance. You can still blind, but it's harder to time since you can't adjust it as you could before, plus I hear the starting position of the beam has been altered as well. Plus the batteries draining faster if you can't cancel a bad beam or if you're clicking to communicate.

You can disagree, of course, but I think the flashlights deserve some sort of compensation. Also, their addons are not that great and it would be nice if they were reworked.

  • I agree that flashlights need some adjustments and compensations in regard to the collateral nerf.

  • I wouldn't be against having small license crossovers, however unlikely that would be since both BHVR would have more interest investing time and resources into bigger names that draw more players, and smaller/independant game developers might want to hold on to their creation rather than losing creative direction on parts of it.

I would love to see Sal Fisher as a killer !

There has also been a lot of people that wanted a quicker way to get through the BW. They could have at least added that like they did the archive challenge selecting.

It truly is the one change I'm looking forward to, haha. Someday !

  • New killer : the Triggered Hen

  • They added a cooldown to flashlights (which I personally don't like, but can't do anything about it since it's for accessibility)

They presumably fixed the problem with hooked-survivor-bubbles that prevented people from using Kindred efficiently.

They reduced the maximum time of a game to help prevent hostage situations from cheaters.

They made having two challenges possibles, which was not an "issue" exactly, but was very much asked for.

They presumably fixed the issue of incentives not being given at the end of the trials under some conditions.

And a lot of smaller bugs, can't list them all.

    I think it's already nice :)

  • I started the game playing Hag (and Legion), and I'd love to see her getting some more attention. I love playing as her, but she's painfully slow and with absolutely no chase power, which makes her actually worse than a simple m1 killer if you're against competent players.

I don't think I've gone against her more than twice in the past months, I hope the new chase music can lure a few out !

  • I mean, we do get some nice quality of life stuff. People are always saying BHVR should take the time to fix issues rather than push for content endlessly.

Also, always nice to see Hag get some love.

  • Hell yeah !

  • After 6.1., a lot of gleeful killers poked a bit of fun at the survivors who were complaining about the state of their games, saying that they got boosted to higher mmr than they deserved thanks to perks. They'd have to adapt and fall back into their more appropriate skill level in a lower mmr bracket.

I feel like this recent wave of killers complaining about sweaty games is kind of "part 2" to this situation. Survivors who got boosted went back down in mmr, as it was said they would. But now, those killers are put in front of the legit skilled survivors that adapted, or survivors who fell back from higher brackets (and are therefore better opponents than those killers were used to).

So yeah, it makes sense in my opinion that for a whole part of killers, the games that were very easy post 6.1 while everyone adapted are now very sweaty and hard. You can't expect boosted survivors to both fall down on the mmr ladder and not get replaced with higher skill ones.

    Game is harmonizing.

  • A lot of people would say the opposite.

I think if you're in a state to really come to not enjoy the role you're playing, maybe switch it up a bit ? Keep things fresh. Don't drive yourself to a burnout forcing yourself to play a role that is currently unenjoyable.

  • Since ranks no longer affect matchmaking, de-pipping should go. You either win a pip or you don't. I feel like it would be fairer, especially since sometimes losing pips is out of your control (getting tunneled out early, teammate DCs, game servers do an oopsie and DC you, getting chased all game and not having time to max out the other categories, etc).

  • I mean... You're not supposed to enjoy these games since obviously bots are bad, but it does make for some really funny respite moments with all survivors, solo q and swf alike, having some time to meme together around a barel fire for once.

  • I feel like most times it's going to be unintentional. I've definitely done it by accident before.

  • Not a fan... I already struggle concentrating on where I have to go not to faceplant into a tree. I feel if I manage to catch the skillcheck, I'll probably be injured/downed from running in a straight line against Huntress or from accidentally running into a wall and being slowed.

So yeah, I feel like this would be too strong, at least to average survivors who struggle to learn how to loop. The QTE might also be unwelcome for people with poor coordination. I already see so many survivors missing the Overcharge skillcheck, I have no reason to think they'd be any better at a short QTE. So to be mori'd for it... Yeah, games would be very short in lower/mid mmr brackets. :/

I appreciate the creativity and the willingness to make the game more interesting though ! :D

  • Really dislike it.

I hate that they removed moris from Devour Hope and Rancor, and I don't like that all of the fun of mori photobombs and funny decors getting in the way will be gone. I don't like that it makes fast slug games possible (which in my opinion creates the need to bring unbreakable), and that it removes Deliverance or Decisive Strike plays, crawling through gate, etc.

So yeah, overall I am not charmed.

  • This is why creating a 3v1 as early as possible is the strongest strategy for killer, and why it feels very unfair to survivors since it is mostly out of their control. At this point the game is no longer salvageable, unless the team is both really good at running the killer and well coordinated.

  • These are pinned in the general discussions channel, because they're general discussions, tips, and summaries of streams.

If you want to access the devs' news and patch notes, there is another section of the forums just for that :)

Thanks do you know if suttle cheaters can crash the game? it might have just been the game but just wanting to know if thats a thing

    I really don't know, sorry !

  • I think it's just a thing that happens sometimes ? But I'm really not sure

I had something similar the other day, had a pretty good game on Gideon Meat Plant, but the second the last survivor jumped through hatch I got disconnected. It sucked, because I had a good game, but I didn't get a DC penalty from it so I'm guessing the game itself that had a problem.

  • I really dislike going against Deathslinger and Oni.

Deathslinger's terror radius gives me depression and I don't like dodging his ranged attacks.

Oni charges his power too quickly in my opinion, you hear him pop all the time and I find it really annoying to face him.

On the other side, least favourite killer to play : Nurse

I haven't played a lot of killers because I'm comfortable with a couple and don't feel the need to switch it up, but out of those I have tried out in games or customs, Nurse is the one I physically can't play. I like her, I think she's cool, her power is cool, I dont' necessarily dislike going against her (since I'm not high mmr, most nurses I see are average and interesting to go agaisnt)...

But I have pretty terrible object permanence so her looking down when in fatigue makes me lose survivors often, on top of giving me slight motion sickness.

  • Looping and spinning is not bullying, but I get your point.

Dealing with a squad that's much more skilled or coordinated than you feel you can deal with is never pleasant, but can be disregarded as an mmr blooper. Them adding BM to injury is where it gets really problematic.

I think the best way to go learning how to handle playing killer is, weirdly enough, empathy. If you play survivor, than you know surely, surely most survivors are your average gamer just looking to have fun and do their best, same as you. Then there is no reason to get anxious expecting bully squads left and right, because (at least in my experience) actually mean-spirited opponents are not as common as we fear.

I found learning to separate being outmatched from being bullied a great way of reducing my pre-match anxiety and helped me get a clearer head during the games.

I hope you won't give up on playing killer because of some bad experiences. I promise the community is not as toxic as it is reputed to be. I've met several friends playing killer, and plenty of survivors that were fun or genuinely nice. :)

  • Definitely Ghostface's !

  • Because Scourge Hooks can have cool effects, in some cases nice combos, and generally make the game more challenging or exciting, would be my guess. :)

Us Pig players don't want to sit there and have 1-2 Survivors pretend to be at a petting zoo... while the other 2-3 Survivors are on Gens

Like I do it for like 30 seconds (give or take)... but there still a game to play... Sorry but you're the first but if I had a good game I'll spare you

Like is it really customary for a Pig player to accept boops... or is it just a meme at this point

    I really want to know...

Snoot boops are definitely a meme, and you don't have to participate if you don't want to :)

As you said, there is still a game to be played and you don't have to give up your time and skew your chances over a meme

I'd personally accept wholeheartedly to be hooked without even a chase if the Pig plays along with the boop just for a moment :D

  • I try it all the time, almost always get a knife to the chest in answer. :(

But then again I respect that they might want more of a serious game in between getting boops :)

One time I got away with it was with a Pig who seemed a bit confused by me and my friends trying for boops after our teammates died. She retreated and hid the rest of the game after we booped her ? I hope she wasn't new and thought we were trying to be mean...

  • I love that idea :)

I love having nice and fun postgame chats with my opponents and I'd love to be able to reward them or send them a small gift after a game well played !

  • Just A Regular Catboy

When you spawn into the game, you have 50% chance to be allergic to cats. If you are allergic, being within 10m of the killer will make your character sneeze repeatedly. Catboy can leap at the survivors, but will feel compelled to leap at any circle of light in his surrounding. The obsession can pet his fluffy ears. His terror radius is loud purring.

  • As survivor, I say gg or compliments if I feel like the killer played fair and I enjoyed the game, regardless of if I lived or died.

In case of 0k, I prefer checking on the killer over saying gg.

  • I like it bette now. It was really frustrating going through survivor games winning barely enough for a few nodes. It feels much better in my opinion to be able to prestige my characters without having to spend so much time mindlessly grinding.

  • Oh. I already passed by that outfit thinking it looked pretty cool but missed something for me to consider buying it. I'd love if it was fixed !

  • Looks great !

I was hoping for a Blighted outfit for her, but this one looks super nice !

  • It is horrifying

I can already see all kinds of trolls wearing it haha

  • Pretty much what's happening I believe, yes :(

  • Sounds fun, and a great way to discover the potential of perks you don't usually bring in a trial :D

I don't have all perks on either role, but I'll probably give it a try on killer when I'll have more time to play.

  • I'm running Discordance, Overcharge, Sloppy Butcher and Nurse's Calling, usually with Never Sleeping Pills and Legion Mural. It's quite fun !

    @AlkaloidssOP said:

Well yea they kinda did, for example ruin is useless rn.

If you want a reliable, strong build then I recommend: SH: Pain resonance, Jolt, Surveilance. 4th perk is optional: if you want more info then BBQ, for better chase Bamboozle or I'm all ears.

You can also exchange Surveilance for Discordance.

A more chill build would be: Surveilance, SH:Pain resonance, SH: Monstrous shrine, BBQ and Bamboozle

I'll try out your builds sometime ! For once, I actually have all these perks, and I've been sitting on Surveillance too long in my opinion :D

  • Hag's ultimate add-on makes it so that she can teleport to her triggered traps, regardless of the other addon used.

  • If you commonly die to get the others out, then the game won't recognize your efforts. Leave out the gate = mmr increase, die = mmr decreases. In yoru situation, the game will think "oh, this guy dies often, they must be really bad, let's put them with other people who die all the time".

I'm afraid until group strats or emblems are taken into account for matchmaking, you'll have to play a bit more selfish and actually open gates and leave (hatch won't increase your mmrt) rather than make sure the others are out.

Maybe if you have a couple of friends to play with, you can try and regain your mmr quicker, since you must currently be matched with quite a lot of impressionable young survivors who'll have trouble going all the way to 5 gens.

I'm fairly bad at survivor and I don't have time to play currently, otherwise I would have offered to play together sometime. Hope you can find great teammates :)

  • I like it on both roles. A bit hard playing Ghostie on it, but the mood it great and I like the resort.

  • I'll generally try and let them reset. Or kill two of them and then let the other 2 live... if they're all cute I'll let them all live. I don't mind farming a bit from time to time !
