Yh depipping is totally unnecessary for both roles.

Damn didn't know there was a dbd comic. Wonder if it's available anywhere else

100% agree. There is no end in sight though which is sad. Fortunately MHR has kept me entertained and busy and now my cheap ass finally bought Dead Island 2 so it's GG for now.
Side note: Can't believe NOED is still considered cheap. What does the perk need now a 30 second deletion timer? Good lord people.
I just try to be the change I want to see in the game. Generally friendly to other players unless they are really toxic, and as killer I deliberately avoid 4ks most of the time because I know how frustrating they are when I play surv.
As for NOED... That's just a personal peeve. I'm not a fan of one hit down mechanics and I always see killers score free kills that they couldn't earn otherwise. I just wish survs got warned about it before someone goes down.

Always check on your killers when a teammate is a little #########. Chances are it's not the first or last time that day someone is being a dick to them for no reason.
It's always nice to stand up for killer if a surv is being nasty. Killer can be a bit of a frustrating lonely roll
-
Huh didn't realise they'd changed it. It's defo still possible to fail it though. Had a jonah botch a flashlight save attempt when I was playing twins yesterday, got the blind but I still had the surv

@idc said:
Back when hatch stand offs were a thing it was completely possible as the killer wouldn't leave the hatch even if you started doing gens. Now a days you either need to 99 a gen after almost losing and then wait for your teammate to die (which is a bad play for both you and your teammate) then proceed to pray to whatever god you believe in that the killer doesn't find you and the gates are far enough apart to actually be able to open them. I like difficult SKILL based trophies but this trophy isn't that, it's luck based on multiple parts and is just plain frustrating.
Or rely on your killer being friendly enough to let one surv go, but ruthless enough to kill the rest plus balanced enough that there is only one gen left when 3rd surv dies. 😂 but yh totally agree OP, this achievement is a pain. I'd love to get it but no opportunities so far, although as killer I have let a few survs do it.
-
Can't believe no one has mentioned twins yet.

btw, why is everyone on here so hostile? is that an online thing or a young people thing?
More of an online thing, but if you obviously exaggerate and blow stuff out of proportion then you will get a lot of mocking replies. In all seriousness farming killers are pretty rare, you're making it sound like it's literally 50% of your games which is impossible.

thats a lie but ok. 4 days ago i started recording uninterrupted game play. i also started writing down all the account names keeping record because it is so unreasonable. i refuse to believe that you have only seen 17 farming killers. besides, thats a peculiar number. did you start keeping count from the beginning like you would need to know how many times it happened to you for some reason?
And you're expecting us to believe out of 120 games you see 35 pinheads? Let alone 35 farming ones. There is no way that 50% of your matches are farming or afk killers, hyperbole doesn't make you sound credible. Obvious troll is obvious.

Yeah, sitting around a 3 gen is incredibly boring for everyone involved. The haste effects make it interesting since so many survivors I face are good at knowing just when to slam that pallet and the varying haste buffs throw off their timing. Also, for better or worse, my games are over quickly which is a lot better than a 30 minute staring at gens simulation.
Another one might be worth a look is a hex build, since she's good at defending hexes, saw one who use hex devour and a couple of others to throw us off finding it, made for an interesting game.
-
Sounds like an interesting build. Certainly more interesting than the 3 gen camping most SM players do.
-
Undropped Pallets and vaults can still help. Nothing quite like pallet stunning a lhasing spirit 🤣 and shoutout for lithe/dance with me combo. I've confused a couple spirits with that one because of the sheer speed I get after the vault plus the invisible scratch marks

Facts. Saw a triple flashlight team so i brought lightborn, because you know that's kind of a no brainer. First down, i pick up the unlucky surv and a nea pops up out of nowhere to blind me. As soon as I start moving with the surv I hear the dc noise. Thought the person I was carrying DCd but turns out it was the would be flashlight saver. Never even laid a finger on them they just ragequit because i brought a perk to counter their tool 🤣

Looking forward to seeing ptb footage. I just really hope it doesn't turn into another m1 killer who is geared towards the 3 gen crutch.

And survivors have hook stages displayed to the killer???? That's definitely a weird match to see
It would be nice. As killer I have accidentally killed players early when i haven't realised that they progressed a state on hook or totally forgot how many times i hook pink bunny ear feng versus the green bunny ear feng.
I like to try and avoid killing survs too early in a game. Unfair on them.

I'm honest: I'm pretty mad about BHVR saying things are exclusive and then giving it to everyone.
How do we know that the Charm in the Comic will actually be exclusive (like BHVR states now)?
It could be much worse. Gears 5 did something similar. They did a promotion at launch, that anyone who got a GoW theme tattoo would be given a very unique, striking and exclusive pvp skin. In less than a year or two they release that "exclusive" skin to every player 🤣 imagine literally getting tatood with a game logo for a unique bit of online loot to then see literally every other player get it for free 16 months down the line.

Fully agree OP. Depipping is totally unecessary. Since rank has no bearing at all on mmr, there is no dedicated competitive scene based on rank, ppl getting more BP has directly no affect on bhvrs profits.
Just remove it already, grinding rank once you get to iri level is stressful and difficult. Plus monthly reset means it's pretty tight timewise on ppl who can't play constantly. It'd nake everybody's lives more pleasant.

The game is only fun when they get to just do whatever they want and they are too godlike at the game to make any mistakes or suffer from any bad luck that results in them being the first to go down and get hooked.
Yh gamer mentality I guess. See it all the time on overwatch. Just affects dbd more because there is no backfilling. One early surv dc/willing death is an automatic killer win if they have any basic skill.
-
@sulaiman said:
I think its about the same reason killers dc after 3 gens pop without a single hook. They know its already lost and want to go out.
That doesnt have to be on the killer, but i run bond on survivor all the time, and the number of people that just hide in the basement walking in circles, or hiding in a locker while you are in a chase and not even going in their direction often tells you how its going to end anyway. So most times its your teammates.
But having the 5.th blight or nurse in a row after the last 3 already camped, and the guy that hooked you seems unwilling to leave, yeah, you want to go to the match roulette again in hope of one decent match.
But i personally understand people dont like it, so i only play killer latly, until maybe decent solo matches are a thing again.
I'm talking about real early DCs tho. Before it's clear where the match will go. Guess solo q players just tend to be more volatile when it comes to noping out.

Same mentality as killer's lobby dodging. As a killer main, you probably understand that better
Not a killer main my dude. I play both roles equally, literally mentioned in the post that I play surv and this situation sucks for both roles. When I am killer I also pointedly avoid tunneling ppl off hook, opting usually to chase the unhooker. But I still see a lot of ppl ragequit before it's clear which way the match will go.
And as killer I rarely lobby dodge, last time is did was a full set of 4 high prestige fengs in the same outfit, 1 ttv and two gts with the word toxic in, 2 beams 2 toolboxes. It looked like an exhuasting match and i was just memeing with my deathslinger hex build. Usually I just hit play and let the game pan out.
-
@jamally093 said:
What I mean is let's say the game ending or your playing killer and are half way through and you get the usually "nice camping, tunnel, ect" kind of stuff how do you deal with it?
For me simple I stopped doing the whole argue back since it made no sense why argue back it's a waste of time. So I usually do the simple if the killer is camping I'll complain but never message no reason for it but if I get a message most of the time I just smile and basically just say "that's nice" and done.
So how do you deal with toxicity.
I ignore it. Luckily I play on xbox so I don't see the toxic cesspool that is end game chat. Plus you get out the energy you put it. I usually gg other xbox players and like 95% of my interactions are usually positive.

Nah i get it. Either kill a surv or let them go. Killers that just deliberately string it out and make you think they'll let you go then just take it back at the last second are real toxic.
-
DCing is never justified aside from irl emergencies. If you don't like the way other people are playing just suck it up. If the game is obvious L you can just throw yourself on hook. But dipping out at the start because you don't like the killer or the map or the fact that you got downed or you don't like one of the perks just throws the game and ruins it for the rest of your team. DC penalties are there for a reason

Yes, every multiplayer has it, but they also have a ranked queue where players are all presumably playing with the same goal: hard sweating for victories and ranks. DbD doesn't have that. There's already conflict between teammates with different playstyles in DbD. Voice chat would amplify that. If DbD added a ranked mode, then yes, they should really consider adding voice, because you need comms to beat top tier killer players that are hard sweating.
I mean I've suggested having separate ranked and casual queues as well. It's pretty bad only having one which is ranked.
-
And here comes the flood of "oh no, it'll be to toxic" brigade. See the 3 replies above for reference.
Practically every multiplayer game has voice chat. Sure toxicity is a problem but that's what mute and report functions are for. Vc wouldn't solve the problem, but it would HELP solo q.
And if we don't want toxicity why thevhell do we have endgame chat so killers and survs can insult each other.
-
Map bans? Iffy. We'd never see coldwind or swamp again if killers could ban maps
Killer bans? Maybe only one per player and swfs can only choose one between them. Two would mess with mmr too much. It seems unfair to force players to endure genuine phobias, and it might help prevent ragequits.
-
Woop woop. Jeff is gonna prestige again tonight after all. Tyvm OP
-
Bwahaha. Comedy gold. Shame they got aggy with you after but NOED/bloodwarden builds tend to ellicit that reaction. Pretty genius doing it on dredge for the grab so you didn't reveal the NOED.
Nothing wrong with playing that build, it's high risk high reward. If he didn't go for that locker or other survs just noped out you'd not get the 4k.
-
I was thinking that. Demos are usually pretty chill. Don't see them camp that often and when i ay demo if i see someone unhook i always go for the unhooker as opposed to the unhookee
-
As a fellow jeff main I approve of this post. He is low key the most wholesome survivor.

@CorvusCorax86 said:
"You could counter it."
Yeah, right. Not true, at all. If waited long enough the survivor knew it. If it happened near a window (where lunging was important to get a hit) you had no means to "mindgame" it. Another window lost, several more seconds added to an already extended chase.
What many of you forget is that DH is activated at will. Now it is the same but with a criterion in mind.
SB, Lithe and BL are all circumstantial. You can guess what will happen when in chase. I can't decide to activate Lithe at the 3rd vault. It will happen right away. I am approaching a Meg slowly walking away but looking at me. What is she going to do? You don't even need to ask.
When these 3 happen (rather sooner than later in a chase) you can still decide if you want to commit. With DH it happens often in the last minute and there you are already stubborn enough to say "I will want to see this through".
Using DH at windows was easy to counter. You couldn't keep the endurance while in the vault animation so that was always and easy down for me as killer.

Going down early was not an issue.
Nea was afk from the start; the match was already lost. I should not be penalized; Nea should be.
Just like if a cheater is taking the game hostage, players who disconnect should not be penalized.
Maybe in this particular exanple it's acceptable but 99% of hook suicides are just simple ragequits rather than being justified by afks or cheaters.
And I'm not saying ppl should get insta banned the first time they do it. Like most ban requirments, particularly for ragequitting, it's repeat offenders who should be punished. If you do it once in a while for genuine reasons fair enough. But if a player is repeatedly and regularly noping out on hook early match then obviously it's just ragequits and should be punished becuase they are constantly ruining the game for others.

^^^ THIS.
Replace any survivor that DC’s , goes AFK, or intentionally dies on 1st hook with a bot that has the same load out.
Even if the person has a legit real world reason, don’t penalize them with a soft ban (except DC’ers) but replace them with a boy.
OR: maybe DBD creates the functionality where you can queue up to replace a DCer.
Yh I've suggested this too. Bot backfilling would be so good. The reason an early desth is so crippling is that survs lose 25% efficiency on gens AND killer ties up far more of the survs resources in one chase and subsequent unhooks/heals etc. Plus IMO bots play so much better than most human players lol.

I feel you, I used to bait DH most of the times until I started to main blight whic his harder cause u gotta commit for a hit many times. now the other perks as lithe, sb are a joke to blight but I remember my pig maining days, can't imagine dealing with 4 lithes into strong tiles.
Ah see I don't play blight I'm on console and can't hit a lethal rush to save my life. I don't play many mobility killers except demo. And that requires good portal placement to teleport ahead and cut surv off.

I mean dont take me wrong but you sound like a survivor main btw.
All I know, before the balance patch 3 survivor out of 4 ran Dead Hard, it was a nightmare, essentially survivors had 9 health state instead of 6(potentially even more!!!). Dead Hard was abused since added to the game for years and years, if the perk was so bad getting value, why did 75% of survivors ran it? Never saw any other exhaustion perk ever, just the Dead Hard.
Finally gone, the single biggest thing that made killer unplayable, or just such a bad experience just didnt want to play anymore.
Now I am back, and many others just because that Dead Hard is gone.
Also Dead Harder users loved the script which again had no counter
I balance between killer and survivor. I did used to use dead hard a lot but it was high risk high reward. I didn't used to hit the trigger every time and often got downed while trying to use it. Now i run lithe and I consistently gain time off of it at least 3 times a match and often it causes killer to give up on chase early. Tbh if DH was unnerfed I would stick with lithe becuase it's far more consistent.

Trap question.
Doesn't matter what I consider to be acceptable to go next on hook. Everyone is different.
It exists as an option for survivors that don't want to play that doubles as a last resort comeback mechanic. There's no reason for it to be changed.
The only people who advocate for this change are people that cause it to begin with most of the time.
As someone who solo queues a lot I don't really care if someone goes next, the game isn't my fault at that point and I can just go next too. I'd rather deal with the slight annoyance of someone insta-unhooking themselves if it means I get the chance to do so myself in an unfun match.
I just see it as unfair on your teammates. As killer I generally couldn't care for my experience. A hook suicide is a free win, I have control of the game after that so I'm free to farm and release if I want. As surv it winds me up because so many nope outs on hook are done when the match is still easily winnable. Like when someone hook suicides after first down, or discovering killer has a certain perk.
It's one player deciding "######### those other three players and their experience" and it's unfair on people trying to play the game properly. I don't have an issue with it mid or late game when it's obvious who will win. But early on it's unfair and mad disrespectful to the other survivors

Oof. Yh thankfully she's rarely played. Basically she is a 3 gen machine. Puts up drones Round gens that slowly expose a surv and gives her stealth. Plus she can track survs in the aoe

I only care about Dead Hard, playing killer is such a joy now, compared to before, when Dead Hard was a 100% third health state all the time.

I get his point tho. a good killer without mobility suffers more from this. people who knew how to counter DH basically made survivors have no exhuastion perks at all while now it's guaranteed.
I guess this is what I'm finding frustrating now you mention. I basically didn't have to worry about exhaustion perks before because I only saw lithe, SB etc rarely and could counterplay DH so rarely lost time on chase because of it.
now it's constant every chase a survivor goes tokyo drift mode as I get close.

I went down early against Knight and was hooked in the basement. I saw Nea's aura as she stood idle and saw the broken status next on her HUD which meant No Mither. I was not sticking around and expedited my exit from the match.
Penalize or remove giving up on hook and I'll just go AFK.
And going afk is reportable. Your ragequit here is exactly what I'm talking about. You went down early, ok everybody slips up. And you then decided to nope put because 1 person was running no mither
Terrible perk admittedly but I've escaped games while using it. I like to muck around with no mither, resilience stealth builds on the odd occasion. But instead of trying and potentially winning, you personally ensure that the game is going to be a survivor loss. Maybe they would've come back to the controller and if they didn't after a minute or two then maybe throw yourself at killer if it's a definite loss.

I posted a suggestion for a Trapper rework:
- allow trapper to start with all traps. After all: huntress, clown, etc., don’t have to find their axes or bottles first, unlike trapper
- allow trapper to set traps on-the-go, just like Artist can set a crow, the trapper can arm a trap while walking (but at a slow waking rate like when Myers stalks), and then once set the trap can just be dropped & placed anywhere , again like Artist setting a crow or Hag drawing a trap.
Trapper stopping, bending over, and having to place & set a trap is too slow & clumsy of a process I think.
How else can you modernize Trapper? I believe this is one way to allow trapper to get away from being a 3gen killer.
If you give all his traps at the start then he becomes a worse skull merchent. He can turn a 3 gen into an inpenetrable mine field. I tried this once on eyrie, while running chases, i shuffled my all my traps over to the 3 gen by shack, including a gen inside of shack. Full set of 4 players couldn't lay hands on a gen for long enough to make any progress with me running overcharge and pop.
Pallets in the area got cleared real quick and even when they found my traps and avoided them, I could herd them to more hidden ones when I chased them off gens. If I'd been running bloody coils it would have been even more oppressive.
Trappers needs love for sure but giving him access to all traps isn't how to do it. My preferred solution is add a debuff for survs when they sabotage a trap. Each time they disarm a trap that surv gains a token with 33.3% transparency on laid traps, after 3 tokens traps are totally invisible and that surv cannot interact with laid traps anymore. Stepping in a trap removes 2 tokens.

Not gonna lie, I don’t DC but I surely will feed myself to her if the game is lasting longer than it needs to because she wants to hold her 3-gen strat. If need be, I will end myself on hook & really won’t care because its exhausting and boring.
If that makes me a bad person, I’ll be that.
Tbh if you're stuck in an unwinnable slog fest it's perfectly acceptable. It's ppl who DC 2 minutes in the second they go down who hurt the game.

I know it would never happen due to potential abuse, but I wish there was a way to submit a request to be a guide\roleplay killer. In this mode, you don't get any BP for kills, but instead get a baseline 20k a match. When this mode is enabled, you only go against newcomers, you're expected to play to spook as opposed to win, and you can only hook one person. You don't get a prompt to hook anyone else. You're essentially there to give him a spooky killer experience in a roleplay way, but they are expected to all or almost all escape. Their MMR wouldn't be affected if put into a "roleplay" killer match. That way, as a killer, you know you're going up against newer players, and your goal is to put together a spooky fun experience since you'll have a lot more room to do so since they wouldn't be playing remotely optimally. Would be fun for ghostface players as well as a way for newcomers to learn some tricks that advanced killers will use but in a "safe" environment.
Again, I'm sure it would be abused SOMEHOW, but I just love playing Ghostface to jumpscare and spook people, but it's just not viable at higher MMR. For example, sneaking up on someone and staring and waiting for them to notice you just staring as opposed to the usual stalk and expose down. Gens fly so fast, ghostface players can't take the time to have fun shenanigans like that at high MMR. :/
Oh man this sounds like so much fun. And is basically how I play killer atm lol. Kill 2 let 2 go to provide the illusion of danger.
