Because it's virtual stuff. There can't be a shortage of it, so why create an artificial shortage? Since they're slowly decreasing the amount of limited cosmetics I'm going to assume that they'll earn more if they make the cosmetics permanently available (which is good)
-
Agreed. Yellow gen auras should take priority over deja vu.
-
You bought lucky star, right? That's why you get to level it without owning Ellen.
However, you never bought the stranger things perks, you only unlocked a few of them while they were general perks. They no longer are generic so because you neither own Nancy and Steve, nor bought the perks from the shrine, you can't level them anymore.

has nobody played against shadow step on indoor maps???? go against shadow step on leerys and tell me its not a problem...
So ONE boon actually does something useful on SOME very specific maps and your conclusion is to nerf all boons?
-
Do you have any idea how legion works? The killer instinct is tied to his terror radius so your idea would actually be a nerf.
-
There isn't a single boon that's worth the time investment anymore so why do we need to nerf them even further?
-
"TCM NEW UPDATE MIGHT TAKE OVER ALL DBD HYPE"
lol, lmao even
-
It's extremely obvious that plaything always comes with pentimento and oblivious is a lot less obnoxious than cleansing 8 totems
-
I don't even know why it has a cooldown. Just deactivate it if the duration runs out without another vault. It doesn't need an additional cooldown after that.
-
As long as the devs are afraid to give an actual downside or risk to tunnelling, people will keep doing it because it's so easy to do and disproportionately effective considering how effortless tunnelling truly is
-
No, I don't want to play Texas chainsaw massacre
-
No. I don't want to feel like I'm handicapping myself because I'm not picking the meta survivor.
-
Aside from Gideon, no
-
It's not really dependent on which killer I'm facing but how they play. Every killer can be a chore to face if they resort to proxy camping and tunnelling at 5 gens.
-
I think that you're making up false statistics
-
Looks like someone agreed to EULA without reading it. A timeless classic.
-
If all 4 survivors are cuddling with vigil just to reduce mangled timers they are basically throwing.
-
Well, you can look forward to being tunnelled by a new killer. Isn't that exciting?
-
When I read huntress changes I was expecting a few add on changes (mainly iridescent head) but those base kit buffs are insane and weren't needed at all.
-
My conspiracy theory is that all of the onryo players who only played her because of the condemned spam playstyle have now switched over to dull merchant because they're just looking to get maximum results for minimal effort.

the definition you gave LITERALLY proves y'all are talking out of the side of your mouths. "grotesque or psychologically disturbing violations of the human body"??? it's a girl with bugs on her. girl's body is NOT getting violated. it's just uncomfortable to look at, it's not "grotesque" or "psychologically disturbing", that's way too extreme. it's more like a "i don't wanna look at this skin". i'm not shocked, i don't find it horrifying, it's more of a cringed reaction, a "why is this in the game other than to exist as lazy shock content" reaction. well that, and the obvious formication i've stated earlier, but i'm repeating myself so much i'm getting exhausted.
"These violations may manifest through aberrant sex, mutations, mutilation, zombification, gratuitous violence, disease, or unnatural movements of the body"
weird, they didn't even mention bugs once. not even a little bit. especially since bugs are a very common thing in horror, you'd think at least they'd be mentioned if they were considered body horror. but... no. they're not mentioned in your definition. at all. this is literally what i'm saying! you people are stretching a definition! your definition you got further proves you guys are willing to lie about the definition of body horror to put people venting about wanting accessibility features for skins like this down. shame on you! shame, shame, shame!
it's a shame this thread is getting watered down by people who misread definitions and lie. i feel greatly disrespected as someone with a genuine high-anxiety caused condition and will not be feeding these people any further because they don't have any good words to say to me in their minds and don't care about what i go through no matter how clear i make it, no matter how genuine i write what i go through, they will keep being difficult.
accessibility matters. it will never stop mattering. whether dbd gets this feature will never be decided by a forum thread anyways. i can hope they will add it, but it's unlikely. i'm not going to stay here and get barraged by bad faith actors over a probable lost cause (at least, i mean that in a sense my words won't change anything accessibility related, but i wanted to share my thoughts here anyways, because i agreed with what the original poster said and i wanted to boost it and agree). :)
Grotesque violations: she has giant infested flesh wounds, cysts and overall signs of infection and decay all over her body. Half of her face is gone. One of her toes is cut off. Her throat has an open wound. She is vomiting blood. That is definitely grotesque ("comically or repulsively ugly or distorted").
Disease: she is infected with a deadly plague, her body is going through decay and an infestation is by definition a disease, there is no need to specify bugs ("In general, the term "infestation" refers to parasitic diseases caused by animals such as arthropods (i.e. mites, ticks, and lice) and worms (...)")

it's not horror. it's not scary. we can't just switch definitions just because you people like making things out like they're less important than they should be.
look, you and the other guy can believe whatever you want about my actual anxiety related condition (formication) and whether or not the game should have changes or not because of it, but you cannot claim that we should accept it because "it's horror, you picked up the horror game you should be okay with every horror trope ever". besides the fact this isn't a horror trope, because it's not horror, that's just a really irresponsible thing to say to someone you know has a very clear issue with something for a very valid reason? idk. i just feel kinda disgusted with this thread. i am blatantly being lied to and am being told to accept things because "horror game lol". it's just gross. have your opinion on accessibility features all you guys want, but leave the lies out of it.
Definition of body horror according to wikipedia:
"Body horror, or biological horror, is a subgenre of horror that intentionally showcases grotesque or psychologically disturbing violations of the human body or to any other creature. These violations may manifest through aberrant sex, mutations, mutilation, zombification, gratuitous violence, disease, or unnatural movements of the body"
The skin definitely applies. Whether or not you find it scary is a different topic, but it is undeniably body horror.

Because dull merchant (and knight) play themselves. The player only needs to press m2 to summon a minion that basically plays the game for them. If you get outplayed by another killer like for example huntress you can at least acknowledge that the killer player put in some effort to learn the ins and outs of their power and did something skillful to down you. That's why people hate on those 2 more than other killers. They are completely uninteractive and require basically nothing from the killer player in terms of skill while at the same time invalidating skill expression from the survivor player.
-
Exclusively for cosmetics
-
Apparently because blight is unable to use his power in every loop, so he needs be 115% in order to loop, but considering how strong his power truly is and with the amount of
bug... I mean "techs" he has, I can definitely see him becoming 110% in the upcoming balance update. It wouldn't really impact good blights but it would at least weed out the bad ones, like what happened when they updated release nurse. As for spirit, her power is also incredibly strong, so there needs to be a downside. If she could loop like a normal killer while her power is on cooldown, she would be too strong.
-
Not necessarily op, but she has issues. She is all reward for no investment. Anyone can play her pretty close to optimally after one game because 95% of her power is passive effects, so there is no need for the killer player to do anything as she essentially plays herself.
-
I think the skins in this rift are pretty mid. Not bad but also nothing outstanding.
-
Mangled is a problem when designing anti healing perks because killers can just stack mangled on top of that. That's why anti healing perks like leverage are so garbage. If they were buffed killers could combine them with mangled and it could quickly spiral out of control. Mangled getting a balance change opens the door for more diverse anti healing options and I think that's a good thing. Currently the only anti healing perk everyone uses is sloppy butcher because mangled and hemorrhage just do everything you could ever want from an anti healing perk.
-
Nerf her bloated kit that does basically everything for the player while not really requiring any input from the player
-
I wholeheartedly agree. As a killer main, I always wish I could go back to 2016/2017 where we had legit insta heals/insta gens/infinites/etc. How I miss those good old times. Killer was so much more enjoyable back then.
-
It doesn't even properly punish face camping. If the killer steps like 8m away, the bar won't fill up fast enough to unhook before second stage, even if no other survivor is nearby and if a staircase or drop down/hill is near the hook the killer can camp even closer because "elevation".
-
As others have said, if the killer notices that you're silent when you get unhooked, they can simply slap you immediately and continue tunneling. The 80 second duration sounds insane, but it really doesn't do much to deter tunnelers. The other 2 effects are not bad, but aren't going to help you while you're getting tunneled.
-
She's not op but the amount of effects she gets passively just for placing a drone is too much. Her skill floor is non existent and her skill ceiling is extremely low. By simply placing down a drone she can:
get haste
apply hindered
apply broken
become undetectable
get passive tracking
monitor an area
Other killers can also counter looping, but they at least have some sort of skill expression while using their power. Not dull merchant though (and knight, but this isn't about him). She doesn't need to aim, she doesn't slow down, she doesn't need to worry about placement, just press m2 and the loop becomes unusable. That's what people hate about her. There is no skill expression in a merchant chase. If she doesn't like the loop, she places a drone and you have to leave and most likely eat an m1 because there is no slowdown while deploying a drone.
-
Condemned shouldn't be easy to apply because it's an insta kill. Something so absurdly powerful needs to have harsh restrictions.
-
Are you implying that maybe tunneling out the new baby Dwight will leave a bad first impression and scare him away? Preposterous, I say! Clearly it is a skill issue on his part and he just needs to get better, buy the right perks and play in a swf to counter the highly skill intensive strategy that is tunneling.
-
That's basically just free map offerings with extra steps

The counterplay is definitely not that limited: hold W, or go for the flag (which is probably the intended main counterplay), or touch pallets to screw with the guards' AI... You have multiple options, and it all depends on the specific situation you're in
Also, I have genuinely never seen a Knight without Map of the Realm on him. The character is already played as if the add-on was basekit
No knight will let you get the flag, so that is irrelevant and even if you "mess" with guard ai, knight can still react to your bluff and hit you anyway. Both of those options are only options if you have only the guard chasing you. If knight and guard are both chasing you the only thing that can save you is a god pallet/god window, which means holding W to prevent a hunt is the only viable counterplay in chase.

Yeap, not only it would be a dangerous precident to set, but all the money that Skull Merchant has made for BHVR would need to be refunded...
This would not be the profits being refunded, but the revenue... Money which likely doesn't exist anymore, as its probably already been rolled back into the company for later development/releases. Such a loss in company funds would result in a very substantial blow to BHVRs finances, that would at the very least severely impact the release of all potential future and in progress content, and in worse case may even snowball to actually killing the game for real.
The hatred for Skull Merchant at this point seems like a meme. Discussion about her has long been dead and devoid of constructive feedback (and ots questionable that it ever was), and she's become just an outlet that people love to hate on.
EULA:
"BHVR has the absolute right to regulate, discontinue, update, modify or eliminate any Virtual Goods at any time in its sole discretion and BHVR shall have no liability to you or anyone else for these actions."
Theoretically, they could remove her without refunding anyone.
-
No. Maybe it will come to the store, maybe not. We don't know, but currently there is no way to get it.
-
Knight's counterplay is already quite limited (hold W once a guard is summoned) and with map of the realm even that counterplay gets weaker. Additionally, the add on has 2 effects but only mentions one in its description (increased detection radius is written but it also increases expansion speed). Apparently this is due to a coding quirk where the circle is coded to reach its max radius in a determined amount of time and doesn't account for the fact that the radius is larger with the add on. So I don't think it should be made basekit. The coding of the circle should be fixed first and then further changes could be made.

When they help me with a frustrating tome challenge (looking at you, scourge of the purge)
When it's obvious that they are inexperienced and shouldn't be in my game
When someone suicides early
When they are running no mither (they are most likely doing a tome challenge/achievement)
When they are the last one alive (unless I have a tome challenge/achievement that demands a 4k)
When I see they brought bps/anniversary cakes, I will offer them the chance to farm
-
Even with surge, I have only seen the warning spikes but so far I haven't reached a full block
-
Infection shouldn't progress after an unhook until the survivor performs a conspicuous action.
-
A lot of people seem to be under the assumption that making hookicides impossible will somehow mean that the player will continue playing the game and not throw immediately. It won't change anything. That player is done with the game for whatever reason. The best case scenario would be if they dc'd because then you get a bot that will actually play, but no one wants to dc because of the penalty, so they'd rather throw and get out without a penalty.
-
What? You don't know the extremely easy and convenient counters to UW? You just need to use your sixth sense to predict the exact moment the killer is going to open a locker, which is when you need to hide in a locker and stay there for 30 seconds. Alternatives are the very useful perk calm spirit and just not going down in chase, 4head.
-
We need a more effective way to at least soft counter tunneling without the need to bring specific perks from dlc survivors.
-
Thalita. All of her perks are trash. Ace and David are strong contenders though because Ace has 3 perks that do nothing and David has no mither which sabotages the entire team.
-
Lampkin Lane actually has a breakable wall but I get what you're saying and I agree

Removing infinites was a nerf though?
Yes, it was. I worded that poorly. The point I was trying to make is that unlike the 3 gen solution survivors (rightfully) didn't receive a compensation buff in return

Because removing 3 gens is a nerf to killers?
that's like saying removing infinites was as survivor nerf. Removing unhealthy playstyles and mechanics should not be seen as a nerf that deserves a compensation buff
